Deskripsi Training Tour Leader

Tugas utama seorang tour leader adalah memimpin rombongan wisata dalam perjalanannya selama melaksanakan tour/wisata baik di dalam maupun di luar negeri. Dunia pariwisata yang berkembang pesat, menuntut tersedianya tour leader yang kompeten dan mampu melaksanakan tugasnya dengan maksimal untuk memberikan pelayanan terbaik daam jasa perjalanan wisata yang ditawarkan. Kompetensi sebagai tour leader guna menunjang jenjang karir yang diakui secara nasional adalah dengan mengikuti sertifikasi dari BNSP.

Tujuan Training Tour Leader

Setelah mengikuti sertifikasi ini peserta diharapkan mampu:

Peserta memiliki kompetensi yang terbukti dengan sertifikasi BNSP untuk menjadi tour leader dalam bidang pariwisata
Peserta mampu melaksanakan pekerjaan sebagai tour leader sesuai standar
Peserta mampu menangani masalah yang terjadi dan keluhan klien dalam tour serta mampu memberikan solusi dari permasalahan yang terjadi

Metode Sertifikasi

(setelah melakukan pembayaran akan dishare link Aplikasi)

Mengunggah data melalui Apikasi NAS (khusus sertifikasi kompetensi)
Melengkapi seluruh persyaratan sebelum sertifikasi berlangsung
Peserta menginstal aplikasi NAS dan Zoom pada perangkat masing–masing.
Seluruh pelaksanaan sertifikasi akan dilaksanakan melalui Aplikasi NAS (Android) dan Zoom.
Mohon menyediakan 2 perangkat pada saat sertifikasi (Laptop dan Ponsel/ Ponsel dan Ponsel) 1 perangkat akan digunakan sebagai Zoom dan 1 perangkat digunakan untuk sertifikasi online/ jarak jauh menggunakan aplikasi NAS (Android)
Pada saat sertifikasi asesi wajib berpakaian rapih dan berpada pada ruangan yang hening, memiliki pencahayaan yang cukup dan tidak ditemani oleh orang lain demi menjaga kerahasiaan Uji Kompetensi.

Apa itu sertifikasi BNSP? Perlu diketahui, BNSP merupakan kepanjangan dari Badan Nasional Sertifikasi Kompetensi. (BNSP) merupakan badan nasional independen yang memiliki tanggung jawab langsung pada Kepala Negara.

Sertifikat Kompetensi BNSP hanya akan diberikan pada tenaga kerja yang, telah sesuai dengan standar kompetensi kerja yang dipersyaratkan dimana membutuhkan keterampilan dan kompetensi, serta sikap kerja tertentu.

Sertifikasi kompetensi adalah proses pembuktian atas keahlian (kompetensi) secara umum melalui serangkaian aktivitas yang dilakukan secara sistematis dalam bentuk uji kompetensi. Pengakuan kompetensi tersebut dilakukan oleh Lembaga Sertifikasi Profesi (LSP) yang diakui oleh Badan Nasional Sertifikasi Profesi (BNSP).

Badan Nasional Sertifikasi Profesi (BNSP) merupakan badan nasional independen yang memiliki tanggung jawab langsung pada Kepala Negara. BNSP didirikan menjadi badan negara yang berperan dalam melaksanakan uji kompetensi terhadap Sumber Daya Manusia (SDM) Indonesia. Hadirnya BNSP di Indonesia guna untuk menjadi dewan penjamin dari kualitas SDM Indonesia. Selain itu, juga dibentuknya BNSP oleh pemerintah ini dalam rangka meningkatkan kapasitas daya saing nasional.

Pada dasarnya BNSP menjadi lembaga penjamin kualitas dari kualitas tenaga kerja guna untuk mengembangkan kapasitas daya saing nasional. Badan Nasional Sertifikasi Profesi (BNSP) didirikan atas panduan Peraturan Nomor 23 tahun 2004 dengan acuan pada UU Nomor 13 tahun 2003 tentang Ketenagakerjaan.

Apa itu sertifikat PENGATUR PERJALANAN WISATA (TOUR LEADER)?

Sertifikat PENGATUR PERJALANAN WISATA (TOUR LEADER) BNSP adalah sertifikasi yang diberikan oleh Badan Nasional Sertifikasi Profesi (BNSP) kepada individu yang telah memenuhi standar kompetensi tertentu dalam suatu bidang PENGATUR PERJALANAN WISATA (TOUR LEADER) atau profesi PENGATUR PERJALANAN WISATA (TOUR LEADER).

Untuk menjadi PENGATUR PERJALANAN WISATA (TOUR LEADER) yang diakui, seseorang harus menjalani pelatihan dan uji kompetensi yang ketat. Pelatihan ini meliputi pemahaman tentang berbagai disiplin keilmuan yang tertuang dalam unit kompetensi sertifikasi PENGATUR PERJALANAN WISATA (TOUR LEADER).

Di bawah ini, kita akan membahas secara rinci tentang pelatihan dan uji kompetensi untuk mendapatkan sertifikasi sebagai PENGATUR PERJALANAN WISATA (TOUR LEADER).

Sertifikasi Kompetensi Meningkatkan Peluang Kerja

Rasio orang yang bekerja setelah lulus sertifikasi cukup besar yaitu 60% dengan akumulasi pemegang sertifikasi kompetensi mencapai 3,8 juta tenaga kerja. Namun, untuk menjadi sebuah negara maju Indonesia perlu mengejar kekurangan 58 juta tenaga kerja bersertifikat (Katadata, 2019).

Dari data di atas dapat disimpulkan bahwa sertifikasi kompetensi diselenggarakan untuk memastikan dan memelihara kualitas tenaga kerja sehingga turut berkontribusi dalam meningkatkan penyerapan tenaga kerja di Indonesia.

Selain itu, seseorang yang telah diakui kompetensinya melalui uji kompetensi akan memperoleh Sertifikat kompetensi . Sertifikat kompetensi ini spesifik untuk satu fungsi kerja, dan pada industri tertentu disertai dengan gelar profesi yang melekat untuk waktu tertentu dan dapat diperpanjang.

Berikut keunggulan dari sertifikasi kompetensi bagi tenaga kerja, yaitu:

Telah dinyatakan dalam UU No 13 Tahun 2013 Pasal 18 bahwa setiap tenaga kerja yang berpengalaman atau telah mengikuti pelatihan kerja berhak memperoleh pengakuan kompetensi kerja (sertifikasi kompetensi kerja).
Mendapatkan pengakuan negara terhadap kompetensi yang dimiliki.
Memperkuat kepercayaan pemberi kerja terhadap kompetensi yang dimiliki pekerja, mengingat saat ini kompetensi seringkali melalui self declare/ pernyataan diri.
Di banyak negara maju, seringkali kepemilikan terhadap suatu sertifikat kompetensi menentukan besaran grade/benefit.
Dengan adanya MEA 2019, maka salah satu perjanjiannya yaitu arus bebas tenaga kerja terampil dapat dimanfaatkan karena dengan kepemilikan sertifikat kompetensi yang diterbitkan atas nama negara ini akan lebih tinggi keberterimaannya.

Sertifikasi BNSP Sangat Penting untuk Dimiliki

Pemegang sertifikat Kompetensi berlisensi BNSP akan memperoleh banyak manfaat baik sebagai karyawan maupun perusahaan. Berikut ini beberapa manfaat sertifikat kompetensi, antara lain:

Kepercayaan Diri

Keuntungan pertama yang akan didapat ketika seseorang memiliki sertifikat kompetensi BNSP berhubungan dengan kepercayaan diri.

Terutama bagi fresh graduate dan entry level yang memulai karir, dengan sertifikasi dapat menjadi bukti bahwa seseorang sudah sangat layak bersaing di dunia kerja. Ini jelas akan meningkatkan kepercayaan diri ketika berada di dunia kerja.

Tingkat Kemampuan

Alasan selanjutnya mengapa sertifikat BNSP ini penting berhubungan dengan tingkat kemampuan, karena dengan sertifikasi kompetensi seseorang dapat mengetahui sejauh mana keahlian dan ditingkatkan menjadi lebih baik.

Akses Pengembangan Diri

Ketika seseorang ingin mengembangkan diri, sering terdapat kondisi dimana perusahaan tidak percaya dengan skill orang tersebut. Kondisi ini wajar mengingat perusahaan lebih menginginkan karyawan dengan keterampilan yang sudah matang.

Become a Tour Leader

We are always searching for energetic, enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and experienced tour leaders and staff for all of our tour offerings — leaders who share our philosophy of the leader as a facilitator and see our tours as an opportunity for participant self-discovery. Prospective leaders should have relevant experience such as group recreation leadership, independent travel, group bicycle touring experience, and/or participation in an Adventure Cycling tour. Prospective Leaders interested in leading for Adventure Cycling should read the information below and complete the following steps. Please note: our positions for the 2023 season have been filled, but you can still apply for future leadership opportunities in 2024. Priority for the 2024 season will be given to applications submitted by September 30, 2023.

Step 1: Learn about the job

Many describe leading for Adventure Cycling to be some of the best travel experiences of their life. Our leaders are passionate and dedicated to the mission of Adventure Cycling, which makes leading for us much more than just a job. We’re looking for leaders who want to share their passion with others.

There are many aspects to being an Adventure Cycling leader, from pre-trip work, on-tour experience, and post-trip tasks. Occasionally, there are other duties which our leaders complete as well. You can find out a bit more about the job through our job description , but it is impossible to write down everything a leader does.

Step 2: Apply

Compile your application . A complete application will consist of a completed questionnaire, cover letter, and resume.
Complete our Online Questionnaire which has some basic questions to get to know you more and your leadership style. You can find the questionnaire here on the Submittable page.
Upload your Cover Letter and Resume . You’ll find space to be able to upload these documents at the end of the questionnaire.

The Online Questionnaire and Cover Letter/Resume submission is available through Submittable . If you do not already have one, you will need to create a Submittable account. Our hiring team will review all completed applications in search of great candidates to invite to the next step.

Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis. Priority for the 2024 season will be given to applications submitted by September 30, 2023.

Step 3: Additional Information and Interview

If the hiring team chooses to move your application forward, we’ll send you some additional information, including specific tours you would be offered and information on compensation and benefits. Along with that information, we’ll schedule a video interview with you to give the opportunity to share your passion of bike travel with us, and for our team to get to know you a bit better. During it, we’ll confirm your potential availability for the 2023 tour season and give you a sampling of tours you may be assigned to if you get hired.

A group of finalists will be selected from the interviews and invited to the next step. By moving on to step 4 you’ll commit to joining us at our Leadership Development Program, and you’ll have an idea on your tour assignments for 2023 contingent on successful completion of the program.

Step 4: Leadership Development Program

Our Leadership Development Program will train our new leaders in the ways Adventure Cycling runs our guided tours. This hands-on week-long experience will teach you the ins and outs of leadership, from behind the scenes work that takes place before and after a tour to managing a group on the road. A group of our seasoned Tour Leaders will be on hand to show you the ropes.

Successful completion of this program is required in order to qualify to lead for Adventure Cycling. Travel to/from the program is at your expense, but all food and lodging costs are paid for by Adventure Cycling for the duration of the program. The development program is run like a tour, so you’ll be expected to come with a bike, camping gear, and all the other equipment for a self contained tour.

Will you receive any training?

Trainees will attend our Training Programmes for up to 4 weeks. The exact programme and training manual will be provided to successful applicants before the training commences.

Only the most skilled trainees will make it through the Training Programme and become established Expat Explore Tour Leaders. If you are lucky enough to get invited to our Training Programme, you will need to start practising and researching immediately.

Before the training begins, trainees must prepare themselves extensively – practising country and city spiels and walking tours. Depending on knowledge and previous experience, this phase might take up to 4-5 months.

The Expat Explore Training Programme consists of:

1. Online assignments prior to the start of training. 2. Classroom training for 3 days, mainly in our London office, where your progress will be monitored. No accommodation, meals or compensation will be provided at this stage. 3. Training tour, which will last up to 4 weeks. 4. Shadow tour of up to 2 weeks. 5. Final preparation in the office before you start your tour.

What does the application entail?

If your profile matches our requirements, we will invite you to the first interview – either via Skype, in our London office or we will ask you to complete a short video interview. During this interview, we evaluate your experience, personality and knowledge of our tours.

The second interview will be a performance interview where we will ask you to present different spiels. We’ll assess your reaction to different scenarios and your commitment to the role. We expect you to know everything about the company by now.

If your interviews are successful, we will invite you to attend our Training Programme. Please note that we might ask you to attend a third interview.

Yes we do! Scroll back up to see what's included in our training programme.

Expat Explore will cover expenses during the training tour such as accommodation, breakfasts and some dinners (as per tour itinerary). Expenses during the classroom training will not be covered.

Expat Explore have tours throughout the year with our busiest periods being April to September and during the festive period.

Most Tour Leaders will know their exact schedule up to a week before the following month. During the busy season, Tour Leaders are on the road for around 25 days of each month.

This is completely up to you. One of the great things about being a tour leader is that the time between tours is completely yours.

All our Tour Leaders will need training on how to lead tours for Expat Explore, but the training for experienced tour leaders will be tailor-made and might not follow our Training Programme strictly.

Expat Explore groups can be up to 52 passengers plus the tour leader and the driver.

Most tour leaders will be training on the Europe Escape tour, as this is our most popular itinerary (in Europe). Within a few months, Tour Leaders are trained to lead different itineraries, and there are plenty of possibilities to develop further when leading tours for several seasons.

Yes! We are very flexible with time off, and we do our utmost to make sure the tour leaders get gaps to re-energise.

What's it like on our tours?

As an Expat Explore Tour Leader, you'll conduct coach tours that include transport on comfortable coaches or minibuses, depending on which tour you're going on.

On our European tours, passengers travel in our full-size coaches. In North America, South America, the Middle East and Asia, passengers will travel either on a full-size coach or a slightly smaller vehicle.

Coach selection depends on how big the group is, and which roads we'll take on tour. Whichever option, we ensure comfort and convenience.

Court of Appeals lets stand Augusta man's conviction of killing his wife

RICHMOND – The Virginia Court of Appeals has denied an Augusta County man’s request to overturn a first-degree murder conviction stemming from the 2021 shooting death of his wife.

In an opinion released Tuesday, a three-judge panel of the court said that Judge Chapman Goodwin was justified in allowing Dwayne Lee White’s history of domestic abuse as evidence that preordained the murder of Kelin White at her home in Augusta. White’s attorney had argued that too much time had passed from the abuse charges to the murder to show any connection.

White was convicted of first-degree murder in August 2022 and sentenced three months later to life in prison.

Kelin White died July 19, 2021, after being shot during an altercation with her husband. Court records indicated that Dwayne White called 911 that morning and told authorities, “We need an officer down here. Me and my wife got into it. I don’t know if she’s dead. Shots was fired.” When asked by the dispatcher if he fired those shots, White denied it, claiming it was his wife who pulled a gun on him prior to the struggle.

An investigation revealed that the fatal wounds the victim suffered could not have come from a gun discharging during a fight. That countered White’s claim of acting in self-defense.

Over his attorney’s objections, the trial judge sided with the prosecution in allowing White’s record of assaulting his wife on separate occasions in 2009, 2012 and 2020 as proof of a pattern culminating in her death.

In court, a booking officer testified that White admitted to “finally” murdering his wife. Another officer testified about seeing the victim inside the Augusta Medical Center emergency room with clear-cut evidence of assault wounds.

While “prior bad acts” are not usually admissible as evidence, Goodwin, the trial judge, opted to allow the history to be considered in this matter.

“There are other reasons that the prior convictions could be shown. And that is for motive, what it was that was going on, the relationship between the parties. There is a whole list of things that could support that,” Goodwin said, according to court records. “And I think that if there ever was a case where the prior history between the parties should be admitted that this is it.”

In its opinion Tuesday, the Court of Appeals agreed. The judges said that the jury was “required to determine” if White was the aggressor or merely acting in self-defense. That history, they wrote, was properly considered in deciding guilt.

"The circuit court found that the evidence of White’s violent crimes against Kelin, spanning from 2008 to 2020, was evidence of a pattern of abuse in their relationship, ending in Kelin’s death,” the opinion read. “In the absence of similar violent abuse by Kelin against White, this evidence tends to make it less probable that at the time of the fatal shooting, Kelin was the initial aggressor.

“Thus, the evidence of White’s violent conduct against Kelin throughout their relationship was relevant to rebut White’s claims that Kelin was the aggressor in her fatal last encounter with him and that he was acting in self-defense."

White, now 44, is serving his sentence at the Middle River Regional Jail in Verona.

We liked that she could pick up on our interests and take us places we might not have thought of to go. When we realized that one of the places we had chosen to see would probably not be that interesting to us, she was able to arrange entry to the Diamond Fund and the Armoury for us. Riding the Metro with Lena was a real adventure and a lot of fun. In Saint Petersburg we found Anna well versed in the history of the Tsars and in the Hermitage collection. Arkady in Veliky Novgorod was a very good guide and answered all of our questions with ease. Novgorod was perhaps a long way to go for a day trip, but we did enjoy it. Vasily was a great driver to have and kept us safe with good humour and skill. We enjoyed ourselves so much, my daughter says she is already planning to return. We would both have no hesistation to recommend ExpresstoRussia to anyone we know.

Just wanted to let you know that My grandson Bruno and I couldn´t have been more pleased with our week in Moscow (6/15 - 6/21). We were absolutely enchanted with the whole experience, including getting lost a couple of times in the Metro during our free time. Although both our guides (both Eleanas) were excellent, I would particularly commend the first one (she took us to the Tatiakov, the KGB tour, and to that beautiful cemetery where so many great Russian artists, authors, composers, musicians, militarists, and politicians are buried). Her knowledge is encyclopedic; and her understanding of today´s Russia as a product of its past was, for us, truly enlightening. I will be taking another tour in Russia, with my wife, within the next two or three years. I will be in touch with you when the time comes. Meanwhile, I will refer you to other potential visitors to Russia as I meet them.

Do they speak English in Moscow?

Transport services have English translations on their maps and English announcements via intercom; alternatively, order taxis from the Yandex Taxi app (Russian Uber), though it’s unlikely that your taxi driver will speak English. If you get stuck and cannot communicate, it’s fine to use Google Translate.

Is it safe to travel to Moscow?

It is no less safe to travel to Moscow than to any European city if you exercise common sense and look after your belongings. As with every city some regions can be more unsavoury than others, but no tourist attractions are located there. The traffic in Moscow is notorious, so exercise caution when crossing roads. Do not take unlicensed taxis; book in advance or take public transport, which is widespread and perfectly safe. If you encounter any problems, look for the special tourist police who can help you.
