KISS: 'Alive 35' North American Tour Dates Announced

As they celebrate 35 years of rockin', KISS today announced the dates of the KISS Alive 35 North American tour. The tour kicks off with a rapidly selling, special multiple-show engagement in Detroit beginning September 25, where KISS will be playing the classic album that started it all: "Alive!" The tour leg will then hit more than 40 additional cities before concluding in December.

This incredible show will feature a new stage set, pyro effects that only the "hottest band in the world" could deliver, and all-new costumes. Fans will be treated to a two-and-a-half-hour set of some of rock's greatest hits, including "Rock and Roll All Nite" , "I Was Made for Lovin' You" , "Detroit Rock City" , "God Gave Rock & Roll to You" and "Shout It Out Loud" , as well as songs from the band's new album "Sonic Boom" . BUCKCHERRY will be main support on all of the KISS Alive 35 North American dates.

Said Gene Simmons , "For 35 years, KISS raised the bar for what a rock concert should really be. This year is no different — all new, all killer... all KISS ! The master's class in rock is in session! KISS rules. Oh yeah!"

"Bigger IS better!" said Paul Stanley . " 'Sonic Boom' is our future and KISS 'Alive!' is our proud past. On this tour you get KISS 'Alive!' plus a slew of other classics and soon to be classics. New stage, new battle gear and a pyro arsenal that will again show everyone that there is only one KISS !"

After completing their biggest tour ever of South America, selling out stadiums once again in Europe, and leaving fans clamoring for more in Australia, KISS is excited to give North America its due. KISS Alive 35 North America marks the first leg of the world's first fan-routed tour — more than 10,000 individual cities across Canada and the U.S. mounted their own unique campaigns to bring KISS to their towns. The fans have spoken, the votes have been tabulated, and the waiting is over as KISS unveils the first markets.

"Modern Day Delilah" , a brand new song from KISS , is available for streaming in its entirety below (courtesy of KissOnline.com ). The track comes off KISS ' first new studio album in over a decade, called "Sonic Boom" , which will be released on October 6 exclusively at Wal-Mart properties. The collection, which costs only $12, will also feature the band's re-recordings of their greatest hits which was previously available as a Japanese import, and a 2009 concert featuring current members Tommy Thayer and Eric Singer filmed in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The cover for "Sonic Boom" is by veteran artist Michael Doret , who created the cover for the band's 1976 album "Rock And Roll Over" .

"We tried to do a KISS album, and it was an ill-fated attempt because there was no real band," guitarist/vocalist Paul Stanley told RollingStone.com . "For a band to make a great album, it has to share a common purpose, and we didn't have it."

He continued, "Things happen when they're ready. We couldn't have made this album without Eric and Tommy . I've known Eric now for 20 years. He's been in and out of the band, and the best times are when he's in."

Bassist/vocalist Gene Simmons has raised expectation on the album — which was produced by Paul Stanley — by saying in online postings, calling "Sonic Boom" "the best new record we've done since 'Destroyer' . It is 'Rock And Roll Over' meets 'Love Gun' ... If you're a fan of our stuff from about 1977, you'll feel right at home."

"The great thing about these tunes is that we can reproduce them live. Just four guys," Simmons told RollingStone.com . "We don't have to prove anything to anybody. All the nay-sayers who didn't understand it, we walk on their graves in our 8-inch platform heels. If you want to say rebirth or born again, you're goddamn right. There's a sense of pride here. When you get up onstage with these guys, you look over and you go, 'Wow, I'm in KISS .'"

KISS Announce Their “Absolute Final Shows” on Farewell Tour [Updated]

The post KISS Announce Their “Absolute Final Shows” on Farewell Tour [Updated] appeared first on Consequence .

KISS have announced their “absolute final shows,” concluding their long-running farewell tour.

The fall North American trek kicks off October 29th in Austin, Texas, and ends with a two-night stand on December 1st and 2nd at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

Tickets for sold-out shows or preferred seats can be purchased via StubHub — where your order is 100% guaranteed through Stubhub’s FanProtect program.

Update – March 30th: KISS have added four new dates to the beginning of the North American tour: Detroit (October 20th), Nashville (October 23rd), St. Louis (October 25th) and Ft. Worth (October 27th). Tickets for these shows go on sale to the general public on April 7th via Ticketmaster , with a Live Nation pre-sale beginning April 6th.

Remarked KISS in a press release: “KISS was born in New York City. On 23rd Street. Half a century ago. It will be a privilege and honor to finish touring at Madison Square Garden, 10 blocks and 50 years from where we first started.”

The “End of the Road Tour” launched back in January 2019 and was billed as KISS’ final jaunt, though the band has said that before (i.e. the 2000-2001 “Farewell Tour,” the last to feature guitarist Ace Frehley).

In July 2022, Gene Simmons had said that KISS were adding 100 more cities to the current farewell outing. Between the band’s upcoming South American and UK/European dates, along with the newly announced North American leg, there are 50 remaining shows on the tour as of now. According to the poster below, it appears that these are the last 50 dates ever.

During an appearance on The Howard Stern Show this morning, the band affirmed that this is truly the end, with Paul Stanley saying, “Yes, this is the end … we’re giving it everything we have.”

While the current iteration of KISS featuring Simmons and Stanley might be hanging up their instruments come December, Simmons insinuated that some form of KISS could continue with “four deserving 20-year-olds sticking the makeup back on.”

Kiss have announced the “absolute final shows of their final tour,” a North American leg that kicks off in October and closes with two back-to-back nights at New York City’s Madison Square Garden on Dec. 1 and 2.

These dates are pegged to the band’s “ End of the Road Tour,” which started in 2018 and was originally scheduled to end in 2021, but was delayed due to the pandemic. The long-winded trek is the band’s self-proclaimed final retirement send-off, though the band’s touring career has notably been extended several times following a “Farewell Tour” in 2000.

The band made the announcement on Howard Stern’s SiriusXM show.

“KISS was born in New York City. On 23rd Street. Half a century ago. It will be a privilege and honor to finish touring at Madison Square Garden, 10 blocks and 50 years from where we first started,” said Kiss in a news release.

The long-running rock band has also booked a set of 2023 U.K. dates throughout the summer and mentioned it’d be their last concerts in the region. There is sure to be speculation surrounding the validity of this being Kiss’ “final shows ever,” since frontmen Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons have shown no signs of slowing down and the narrative of a “final send-off” has been regularly used by the band’s tours.

During the pandemic, Stanley told Variety , he was regularly “bike-riding 25 miles, three times a week,” to help keep in shape during the pandemic hiatus. And although he’s had several surgeries over the years, including hip replacements, Stanley said he “[feels] great and I’m good for another 50,000 miles.”

KISS North American End Road

uDiscover Music previously reported that KISS are to head out on their final ‘End Of The Road’ Tour, but the legendary rockers have now confirmed the initial North American leg of the tour. Tickets for the shows go on sale to the general public on Friday, 2 November, at 10am local time.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame band will launch their End of the Road Tour on 31 January 2019 in Vancouver, B.C., at Rogers Arena and they go on to play an additional 43 dates throughout North America for their farewell excursion. You can see the full list of dates below.

“This time out is far beyond what we have done before, not just because of technology. It is because the meaning of this tour is so, so great because we have been an indelible part of people’s lives, but guess what — people have been an indelible part of our lives,” KISS guitarist Paul Stanley recently told Billboard . “A thank you is in order, but also one last time to live up to what everybody says we have been and what we are.”

Queen II: The Album That Elevated The Band To Rock Royalty

“When we introduce ourselves for 45 years with you, [you] wanted the best, you got the best, the hottest band in the world. The bar is very high, maybe the highest. We’re in competition only with ourselves,” singer Gene Simmons added. “We don’t wish any ill will to anybody else, but we’re too busy being the most fabulous band on planet earth. Look at us. Just one look and you go ‘Wow.’”

The End of the Road Tour will include KISS band members Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons, Tommy Thayer and Eric Singer for the multi-year run that promises dates until at least 2020. The current North American dates will hit major markets including Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Dallas, Chicago, Detroit, Montreal, Boston, New York and Miami. The final North American date is scheduled for April 13 in Birmingham, Ala.

“One thing for sure is that this is the last tour. What goes beyond that is really hard to say,” Stanley says of what will happen to the band beyond their End of the Road dates. “The tour may go three years, but once we play your city, it is done. That is our big thank you.”

“We’re going to take it nice and slow because we are not like the wonderful bands who wear sneakers and T-shirts and show up with a guitar somewhere,” Simmons says, adding that there is nothing wrong with that. “For us to move anywhere, this is the 600,000-pound gorilla. We can’t move without having tractor trailers up the wazoo. We leave a big imprint and that’s how we like it.”

KISS Announce Their “Absolute Final Shows” on Farewell Tour

Ending with a two-night stand at Madison Square Garden in New York City

KISS Announce Their “Absolute Final Shows” on Farewell Tour

By Althea Legaspi

Althea Legaspi

The 19-date tour kicks off in Vancouver on Sept. 19 in Vancouver at Queen Elizabeth Theatre, before venturing down the West Coast with stops in Seattle, San Francisco, and two shows in Los Angeles. Midwest dates include Minneapolis, Chicago, and Detroit before they head to the East Coast and then south, culminating in Austin at Moody Amphitheatre on Oct. 30.

Tickets go on sale March 8 at 10 a.m. local time, with presale available on March 7 at 10 a.m. local time.

Ariana grande is gorgeously exposed on 'eternal sunshine', ‘they play nice’: inside the tensions and tumult at ‘queer eye’, ziggy marley on critics' response to 'one love' biopic: 'they were looking for a different story'.

The original album made Rolling Stone ’s “ 100 Best Albums of the ‘90s ” list, describing their space-pop debut as “a truly obsessive  hommage  to easy listening, a sublime Eurocheese omelet. They built their music out of classic Sixties French schlock: bongos, castanets, vintage electric piano, dream-weaver synths, and shag-carpet organ straight from the soundtracks of movies like  Un Homme et Une Femme .”

AIR to Perform ‘Moon Safari’ in Its Entirety During Fall North American Tour: ‘This Album Is a Little Bit Medicinal’

The tour marks the 25th anniversary of the French duo's beloved 1998 debut.

AIR

French electronic duo AIR will bring audiences to space this fall during a North American tour honoring the 25-year anniversary of their beloved 1998 debut, Moon Safari .

The pair, Nicolas Godin and Jean-Benoît Dunckel, will play the album in its entirety during the 19-date tour, which starts Sept. 25 in Vancouver and ends Oct. 30 in Austin, Texas. See the complete schedule below.

Trending on billboard.

Released in January 1998, the album marked a breakout moment for the electronica genre and earned wide critical acclaim.

While making it, Godin says that “my obsession was to do something timeless, so I focused very hard not to put things in the music production that would date the album. And during the process, many times we felt we were visited by something magic, we felt blessed during some takes; and also when I was listening to the radio, I couldn’t figure how people were making hit singles. It was not in my skills so if you can’t make a hit, the best other option is to make a classic.”

“Before we decided to do this tour, we went to a rehearsal room for three days to see if it was technically possible to perform the entire album,” Godin continues, “and as soon as we started to play the first notes of ‘Kelly Watch the Stars’ or ‘La Femme d’Argent,’ we had a thrill.”

The tour will not feature Moon Safari vocalist Beth Hirsch, who helped forge the album’s dreamy, sexy atmosphere on “All I Need” and “You Make It Easy.” But Dunckel says the pair has “made some arrangements to deliver the soul of these tracks” through their use of a vocoder. “I think that the new arrangements are working on stage,” he continues. “We feel the singer singing without her singing.”

“I think this album is a little bit medicinal,” Dunckel adds. “It heals people’s wounds. Like the wounds I had at the time we made it. That’s what melancholic music does to you isn’t it? The melancholia into the music swallows the listener’s melancholia because the musician and the listener are talking to each other as in a therapy conversation or in a dream.”

Of the original tour behind the album, Dunckel recalls realizing the album “was really working when we toured in the U.S., and in Spain. People were really enjoying the shows and they were so happy to see us for real. I felt it in the audience voices.”

Air Announce Moon Safari North American Tour Dates

By Nina Corcoran

Air band ft JeanBenoît Dunckel and Nicolas Godin

Air have been playing their 1998 classic Moon Safari on tour in Europe, and the French duo has now announced the North American leg of the anniversary tour. The shows in Canada and the United States take place in the fall. See all of Air’s upcoming tour dates below.

It’s been over a decade since Air last released an album of new material. After putting out Le voyage dans la lune in 2012—a soundtrack for the restored version of Georges Méliès’ iconic silent film—the duo did share the compilation LP Twentyyears four years later, and it included the two previously unreleased songs “Roger Song” and “Adis Abebah.”

See which album Air’s Nicolas Godin picked for a list of “ 33 Musicians on Their Favorite Albums of the Last 25 Years .”
