Princess Cruises, a Carnival Corp. brand, is an upscale cruise line that focuses on relaxed cruise vacations and destination-rich itineraries. The line has 15 ships (16 as of 2024), ranging in size from 2,000 passengers to 3,660 (4,300 as of 2024). All ships are equipped with a high-tech system called OceanMedallion, which replaces key cards with token-sized discs that can be used to open doors, pay for drinks and retail purchases, and more.

Destinations Visited Princess Cruises sails all over the world with itineraries visiting ports in Asia, Alaska, the Caribbean, Europe, Canada & New England, Hawaii, Mexico, Central America & the Panama Canal, Tahiti and the South Pacific, Australia and New Zealand. The line also offers cruises that pass through the Antarctic and sails at least one World Cruise a year.

The Princess Cruises travel agent portal, or Princess OneSource, provides a comprehensive suite of tools and resources to help travel advisors learn about and sell Princess Cruises.

Among the tools travel advisors can find on Princess' OneSource are:

• 24/7 library of marketing materials, including customizable flyers and digital ads, logos, photos and videos
• Princess Cruises travel agent training academy
• The most current travel advisor cruise rates
• Flight booking tool
• Weekly newsletter
• Detailed sales reports that help identify market opportunities, seasonal patterns and emerging sales trends
• Online chat support

Travel advisors can also take advantage of Princess' Partner Support system (via phone and email ), which provides support for things such as fare option and promotion combinability verification, status of refunds, commission inquiries, updating of bookings with new promotions, and assistance with OneSource, POLAR Online and new agency registrations questions.

Princess Cruises Travel Agent Education Program Travel advisors can learn more about Princess Cruises via the Princess Cruises training academy (called OneSource Academy), which can only be accessed via Princess Cruises' agent portal, OneSource.

As advisors move through the Princess Academy, they rank higher and earn more rewards.

As an example, advisors who complete five courses in the Princess Cruises travel agent training program are considered First Officers. Those who complete 11 courses are Staff Captains; 18 courses earns a Captain designation; and 25 courses earns advisors Commodore status.

Status also earns advisors Continuing Education credits with The Travel Institute and the Association of Canadian Travel Agencies (ACTA), and CLIA credits toward an ACC or MCC.  For instance, reaching First Officer status earns advisors 2 CEUs with ACTA, while getting to Commodore status earns advisors 10 CEUs with the Travel Institute, 8 with ACTA, and 10 with CLIA.

Other perks that can be earned as advisors move through OneSource Academy include Princess Captain's Circle benefits (gold for First Officer, Ruby for Staff Captain, Platinum for Captain, Elite for Commodore); a Commodore Marketing Kit; priority placement in Princess' Travel Advisor Locator; and more.

Princess Cruises Travel Agent Rates & Fams Princess Cruises travel agent rates can be found on OneSource, but generally work like this: for every four deposited agency client bookings made within the last 365 days, the agency is eligible for one travel advisor bookings, up to a maximum of 50 travel advisor rate bookings within a 12 month period.

Princess also offers limited-time, special rate cruises on a seasonal basis, which agents can use for a balcony stateroom and pay only for taxes, fees and port expenses (as well as onboard expenditures and amenity bundle upgrades).

As for fams, Princess occasionally offers Seminar at Sea (discount rate/hosted) trips or hosts advisors on inaugurals. Both are invite-only. Interested advisors should contact their BDM to find out more. 

Princess Cruises Travel Agent Sales Reps In the Americas, Princess Cruises has 31 business development managers covering the United States and Canada, as well as five BDMs covering charters, incentives and national accounts.

Princess Cruises Travel Agent Marketing Assistance Travel advisors can find a plethora of marketing support on Princess' OneSource travel agent portal, including access to customizable flyers, social media tools, digital logos, photos and videos and more.

Princess also offers a "generous" coop program and the line's BDMs can set up individual agency training, as well as collaborate on marketing plans or offer design team assistance.

Nine Star Princess cruises have been cancelled because of the delay. 

Carnival Corp. made it very clear that travel agencies and advisors must also comply with the new law in their own marketing.

A sold-out Cruise360, presented by CLIA, kicked off this week in Fort Lauderdale with more than 1,250 advisors in attendance. 

The ship will officially sail starting in April 2025. 

Three Holland America Group brands -- and their cruise tours -- are affected. 

Options will include the line's first upscale Thai restaurant and a dedicated plant-based venue.

Should I transfer my booking to a travel agent?

I've made a booking direct with Princess.  Years ago I remember transferring a booking to a travel agent and I got some additional perks.  Is there an advantage to transferring my booking to a travel agent now?  (I don't have an agent but I could look for one I suppose).

Short answer, perks will depend on the agent. Also there is a time limit to do that, I think 30 days.

I save quite a bit of $$$$, often get extra perks and better service with my TA. I would never book direct.

Princess has some very inexperienced reps answering the phones right now IMO 

You should be able to save 10ish% from a travel agent.  Sometimes less.  Sometimes more.  But you should save some money.   And maybe get some perks.

Just realize not all agents discount. Also check to make sure there are no cancellation or change fees.

During the 1st 10 years of cruising we booked directly thru Princess.  Then we met a TA on a cruise and gave her a shot.  She has been OUTSTANDING and has done so much more for us!

I do know that the TA we have been using says that Princess is a cruise line that does allow agents to discount.

I do not understand your post. We have always received excellent prices and service from him on our Princess cruises. Once, when looking at cruises to Alaska, we found 3 on his firm's website that all met our criteria for time and itinerary. The Princess cruise had the highest posted price. When we called for price quotes knowing cruise lines did not allow lower prices to be posted, the one on Princess was not the least expensive since he could discount it. And it was a wonderful, enjoyable cruise.

Most ta are able to put you into a group that their affiliates and they have; this results in a better price and a knowledgeable agent. We used to use that big online agency in NH, just for the extra perks, but talking to our agent was almost impossible and never on Saturday or Sunday(usual sail days). Switch to a local agent who has group affiliations and is available all the time to answer questions. In the Covid-19 era she has been on top of our cancellations, fcc and rebooking.

Sorry about that.  You probably ended up replying to the email notice that CC sends out.  However, if you checked the post, you will see that I deleted it seconds later.  I read an invisible word in your post apparently as I thought you had posted "does NOT discount".  I realized my mistake and deleted my post.  It's great that you have a TA that gives fare discounts.  So do we and I think it is the way to go.

We have booked directly just a few times, when Princess had the itinerary on their website, but it did not appear on our TA's website. Then, we asked for the paperwork to do the transfer... it is worth quite a bit in savings and benefits to us. And yes, this has to be done within 60 days of the original booking.

OK, that does seem to be what happened. 

Princess changed the policy a few years ago that put a time limit on transferring. But the old time limit of the final payment date is also still in effect. I frequently book last-minute cruises. If I see something great late at night or on a Sunday that I want to book, I will put a courtesy hold on the cruise through the Princess website then call one of several agencies I've dealt with in the past when they're open. 

For my upcoming cruise, the difference was around 7% of the base fare saved plus a $50 onboard credit. The OBC is enough to pay for my internet and a couple of beers. People booking more expensive cabins will probably save a higher percentage.

A good TA is the way to go in my opinion.  They can watch for price drops on cruise fare and EZAir and refare to make sure you get the best pricing.  Also, if there are issues they are the ones who sit on hold with Princess instead of you thus saving you time and aggravation 😀

I also have a wonderful TA who is accessible most any time day/night/weekends.  To me, service is everything.  I just completed a complicated booking with Princess.  It is currently on hold until she can pick it up.  I did submit a transfer to agency form (within 60 days), but not sure how this is going to work out since the deposit and everything is due next week.  Hopefully, Princess will put a rush on my transfer so she can do what she does best.  

Yes, I do a lot of the footwork to get information and what I want.  But once I turn it over, I stop worrying about the changes or other issues that may arise.  I am always informed by my TA.  

Good luck.  Finding a great TA is hard to do without referrals.  I was lucky.

Some just ignore you after they get your booking! I have had to pull back a booking not worth it to me! Then she had the nerve to call me ! lol I don't expect an automatic response but three weeks come on!

For my upcoming cruise, I booked directly with Princess.  Then I called my TA and asked if I could transfer it to him and I did.  I had always used a TA.  I'm really happy I did because I got a wonderful perk.  I'll continue to use a TA.

I always do.  However, I also have a very good TA.

Makes sense to jump online to Princess.com and grab a spot when a popular set of voyages is released as could be hard to get the timing setup with a TA.  Easy enough to transfer.

However, I usually just send the info to the TA of exactly the voyage and cabin to book.  Or, sometimes there is access to the TA booking engine and can self-book similar to Princess.com and then just need to have a FCD applied by the TA. 

My TA is an angel (aka fairy godmother).  She is in an out of state hospital after an accident.  She "fixed" Princess' problem with invoice price and secured booking from her hospital bed before being transferred to rehab.  Now that is what I considered stellar customer service.

Of course, you do have to be able to find these elusive wonderful TAs.

I currently am on the 3rd one I have tried (based on a recommendation of someone I met on a ship) and she is 'ok', but I really don't see enough of a discount to make me use her on every cruise. 

I have yet to find a TA who has the knowledge that I have on my own.

So, pretty much back to booking most cruises on my own...unless I happen to run into one of the above people on a cruise who will give me the name of their TA....

Tour conductor (TC) credits

A Tour Conductor is the organizer of a group sailing together. Princess awards one Tour Conductor (TC) credit for every eight staterooms a group books, which can be used on a ninth stateroom.

1 TC = 8 staterooms You can also use points to buy down the TC ratio to be 1:7, 1:6 or 1:5, which means your group could get one Tour Conductor credit for every 7 (1:7), 6 (1:6) or 5 (1:5) staterooms you book.

Note: A Celebration Group with a reduced TC ratio can earn a maximum of 12 TC credits.

To book a group you'll need to get assistance from either a Princess Specialist or your preferred Travel Advisor. They'll take care of all the details to ensure everyone in your group is well taken care of.

Eligibility

• Available for residents of the U.S. or Canada who set up new groups.
• Minimum of 5 staterooms, maximum of 20 staterooms held for 60 days from group creation. Maximum size for groups is 99 staterooms.
• Celebration groups may be created on cruises of 3 to 24 days where group space is available.
