Radiohead’s philip selway announces 2023 uk solo tour.
Philip Selway has announced a string of upcoming UK shows, following the release of his latest solo album.
The Radiohead drummer is currently gearing up to hit the road as part of an upcoming solo tour – which kicks off in May.
The six UK performances will follow a series of dates from across Europe, including the Café Del La Danse in Paris and the Columbia Theater in Berlin. From there, the UK leg of the tour will begin in Glasgow on May 15, and run through until May 21, where it ends in Manchester.
Live performances will also be held in Leeds, Birmingham and Bristol, as well as a slot at London’s Union Chapel on May 18. Tickets and a full list of tour dates can be found here .
The tour follows the release of Selway’s most recent studio album, ‘Strange Dance’ , which was released last month. The release marks his third solo album, following on from 2014’s ‘Weatherhouse’.

Speaking with NME in January, Selway explained that he considered working on the project to be a “life-affirming process” , and described the final product as one that maintained a level of “intimacy”.
“Coming into it, I knew the soundscape I wanted in it. I wanted it to be tall, broad and able to contain all of these different musical elements,” he said.
“Within that, I knew I wanted there to be an intimacy to it too,” he continued. “I got that from the way I delivered the vocals and the lyrical content. It’s almost like pillow talk and very conversational … I wanted to make a record that people could lose themselves in and find their own stories and safe spaces.”
Selway first announced the album and shared the lead single ‘Check For Signs Of Life’ back in October. From there, he released ‘Picking Up The Pieces’ the following month and, more recently, the title track ‘Strange Dance’ .
Elsewhere in his interview with NME , he opened up about the future of Radiohead – adding that the presenters have already begun “talking about future plans” .
“We have got together and we’re talking about future plans, but in the immediate future we’ve all got other projects which we’d all like to see through properly,” he said. “There’s a collective desire to make music in some form or other amongst the five of us. We all really value that musical relationship, and that’s been there for 38 years. It remains really important to us.”
The conversation follows on from previous comments made by the drummer, which caused headlines after he confirmed that Radiohead were “going to get together” at the start of this year.
Radiohead have also teased a 20th anniversary issue of their sixth studio album, ‘Hail To The Thief’ , which was released in 2003.

At TGM Radio Our programs will be of the highest quality. We’ll find you the best radio hosts for our station, so that what you’re listening to always sounds good. TGM Radio programming will have the best music (past and present), the latest hits from charts local and international, news and local traffic & weather.

Radiohead Offshoot The Smile Announce 2023 Tour Dates
After releasing their first live album last month, The Smile will be hitting the road again in 2023. The trio, which is comprised of Radiohead members Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood with Sons of Kemet drummer Tom Skinner, will kick things off in Mexico City on June 22nd before heading north to focus on the East Coast of the U.S.
In the absence of their Radiohead bandmate Colin Greenwood, Yorke and Greenwood trade off the bass role. The band’s stripped-down sound leans on cool and catchy bass riffs that often venture into the instrument’s upper range.
Check out the band’s sound during their recent Tiny Desk Concert for NPR, where they play “Pana-Vision,” “The Smoke,” and “Skrting On the Surface.”

NEWS... BUT NOT AS YOU KNOW IT
Radiohead planning to return in 2023 as band ‘looks at what comes next’
Share this with
Radiohead are planning to return in 2023, according to drummer Phil Selway.
The group hasn’t toured since 2018 and their last release was a 2021 triple album celebrating two decades since the release of their records Kid A and Amnesiac entitled Kid A Mnesia, along with a compilation of B-sides titled Kid Amnesiae.
However, Phil has now revealed the bandmates are aiming to get together soon to discuss ideas for their next project.
He told Spin: ‘We’ve been very focused on the whole Kid A/Amnesiac thing, and I think that’s coming to its natural conclusion, going back through the reissue and [creating] the game scenario around that.
‘We’re going to get together at the start of [2023], and I’m sure we’re going to start looking at other ideas for what comes next.’
He went on to suggest their next move could be a project focused around celebrating their 2003 record Hail to the Thief, teasing: ‘It’s a long time since that record, isn’t it?’
Radiohead’s last studio album was 2016’s A Moon Shaped Pool and since then frontman Thom Yorke and guitarist/keyboardist Jonny Greenwood have been focusing on recording and touring with their new band The Smile.
Phil comments come after the band’s guitarist Ed O’Brien previously insisted Radiohead’s future is still up in the air.
He told The Line-Up podcast: ‘It might happen, but the other thing is… it might not. And does that matter?
‘There’s no Radiohead at the moment. There’s a truth to what we do, so we’re not going to be one of those bands that gets together for the big payday.
‘The thing with Radiohead, we could do something in a couple years. We might not. But I think what it has to be, it has to be five people going, “I really want to do this again with you.”
‘And I think at the moment, because we’ve done it for so long, we’re all reaching out and having different experiences. And that should be allowed, and that should be encouraged.’

Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds announce 2024 UK and European ‘Wild God’ tour
"The record just feels like it was made for the stage"
Nick Cave And The Bad Seeds have today (March 15) announced details of a UK and European tour – check out the full dates below.
- READ MORE: Nick Cave: “There’s no metric that says virtuousness makes good art”
The tour will take place this autumn and follows on from the recent announcement that the band will release a new album this summer, ‘Wild God’.
The band will kick off their tour on September 24 in Oberhausen, Germany, and will end in Paris, France on November 17. The band are due to play six dates in the UK at Leeds, Glasgow, Manchester, Cardiff, London, Dublin and Birmingham.
Speaking about the upcoming tour, Cave said: “I never think about how a record is going to go live, it never, ever occurs to me. The lyric writing process is way too hard to take ideas like that into consideration. But, when I listen to ‘Wild God’ now, I think we can really do something epic with these songs live. We’re really excited about that – the record just feels like it was made for the stage.”
Tickets for the shows go on sale on March 22 at 10am local time and you can get yours here .
Supporting the band will be Dry Cleaning , The Murder Capital and Black Country, New Road .
Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds’ 2024 tour dates are:

The band’s new album is set for release on August 30 and will comprise of 10 songs. It will see the band move between themes of convention and experimentation – introducing left-turns that heighten the rich imagery and emotive narratives created by the frontman.
“I hope the album has the effect on listeners that it’s had on me. It bursts out of the speaker, and I get swept up with it. It’s a complicated record, but it’s also deeply and joyously infectious,” Cave said of the upcoming release.
He continued: “There is never a masterplan when we make a record. The records rather reflect back the emotional state of the writers and musicians who played them. Listening to this, I don’t know, it seems we’re happy. There’s no fucking around with this record. When it hits, it hits. It lifts you. It moves you. I love that about it.”
Cave also recently said that the album was “full of secrets”. “I don’t want to say much about the album itself until it is released in August and you get to hear all the songs, but I can tell you that it is a record full of secrets,” he said on his blog, The Red Hand Files .
“It is made up of a series of complex and interlinking narratives, the title song ‘Wild God’ being the primary point of propulsion, with the songs all feeding off each other – not so much to tell a story, but to rally round an acutely vulnerable and mysterious ‘event’ that resides at the heart of the album’s central song, ‘Conversion’.”
To mark the announcement of the album, the band also shared the title track as the lead single , earlier this month capturing the same balance between newness and their signature sound as expected in the full album.
The writing process for ‘Wild God’ began on New Year’s Day 2023, and the tracks were laid down with sessions at Miraval in Provence and Soundtree in London. From there, the Bad Seeds introduced their unique spin, and additional performances were added from Radiohead’s Colin Greenwood (bass) and Luis Almau (nylon string guitar, acoustic guitar).
Alongside Cave himself, Warren Ellis co-produced the album, and it was mixed by David Fridmann. You can pre-order ‘Wild God’ here , and check out the album artwork and tracklisting below.
Last year, following the release of his book Faith, Hope & Carnage , Nick Cave spoke to NME and revealed what fans can expect from his upcoming music.
When asked if he was pouring more love into his music, he responded: “I don’t know about the music, but these days I feel a more urgent need to connect with people.
“There’s a kind of duty in that, that maybe I didn’t feel before. That I have at my disposal something that’s very valuable – to make music and I don’t want to squander that opportunity in phoning in gigs or doing half-hearted attempts. Everyone is as important as each other.”
News of the new album comes after Cave launched a mysterious countdown clock earlier this month (March 5), but did not reveal to fans what would happen when it struck zero.
The first word of a new Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds album came back in October 2022 when he confirmed in a Q&A that he was about to start the writing process . He later said that the eventual writing processed commenced at 9am on New Year’s Day 2023 .
In July last year, he wrote on his site that they were “finishing” work on recording the new album, and then in November, Cave said he was about to start mixing on the record in Buffalo .
The most recent Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds album was 2019’s ‘Ghosteen’. In a glowing five-star review , NME wrote: “‘Ghosteen’ is one of the most devastatingly accurate accounts of grief that you’ll ever listen to. Yet it’s also, astoundingly, one of the most comforting. Few mediations on grief manage to navigate despair and catharsis as well as this.”
As well as ‘Wild God’ being on the way, there is also a television adaptation of Cave’s 2009 novel The Death Of Bunny Monro in the works , with former Doctor Who star Matt Smith recently having been confirmed to take the title role .

Taylor Swift's reign continues as she ramps up for the next leg of The Eras Tour. The singer-songwriter will kick off the European portion of her world tour in Paris in May, which will continue throughout the summer. From there, she'll return to North America to tour Canada and a few remaining US cities in the fall. If you're hoping to attend, we've compiled all of the details of The Eras Tour, including how to get Taylor Swift tour tickets.
Swift's Eras Tour has taken the world by storm since March 2023. The three-plus-hour tour features hits from each of Swift's album eras, from "Lover" to her recent Grammy Award-winning "Midnights." Each show also features surprise songs and occasional guests, so fans never quite know what they're in for. Swift will release her latest album, "The Tortured Poets Department," in April, but it's unknown if any of those songs will make their way to the tour setlist.
