PLEASE NOTE: ALL SCHEDULES ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE
The Cruise Director assignments and schedule is subject to change as the needs aboard different ships change. Schedules often overlap with another Cruise Director at the beginning and end assignments. This allows the new Cruise Directors to become accustomed to a new ship, and learn what activities and entertainment the ship offers.
The schedules are fluid and may also have gaps that will be filled closer to the actual calendar date in the future. Many popular cruise directors are not currently on the assignment schedule. Often this only means they may currently be on vacation leave or haven’t finalized a contract commitment yet.
This schedule can change frequently, and if you want to sail with a particular cruise director, you should check the schedule regularly to learn where your favorite cruise director may be assigned.
FAQs About Carnival Cruise Directors?
What does a carnival cruise director do.
On a Carnival Cruise the Cruise Director is the most visible and also “the voice” of the ship giving many of the public announcements. The Cruise Directors often are seen hosting events like deck parties, gameshows, and more. They also help keep guests informed about what’s happening on the ship during the cruise.
How many cruise directors does Carnival have?
Carnival has around 30 to 40 cruise directors with a fleet of 25 ships with each having a Cruise Director onboard. The schedule often shows two Cruise Directors onboard at times. This is often for training and orientation purposes as well as transitional at the beginning and the end of contract periods. Contract periods of cruise directors can often last four months with time off in between.
How long do Carnival cruise directors stay?
Carnival cruise directors typically have contractual assignments that last for a certain period of time. The duration of their stay can vary depending on the specific assignment and ship. Cruise directors may stay on a ship for several months before being reassigned to another ship or taking a break. The schedules are subject to change as the needs aboard different ships change. It’s important to note that schedules often overlap with another cruise director at the beginning and end of assignments to allow for transition and familiarization with the ship’s activities and entertainment. If you have a specific cruise director in mind, it is recommended to check the schedule regularly for any updates or changes.
How much do cruise directors make on Carnival?
Cruise directors’ salaries on Carnival Cruise Line can vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, and the specific contract terms. A new cruise director salary can range from starting at $45K to well over $100K annually. Additionally, cruise directors receive benefits such as free travel, accommodations, meals, and more.
Is the Carnival Cruise director schedule final?
The Carnival Cruise Director schedule is subject to change. Thanks for keeping this going Deltablue. I see they still dont care about us 😜
Is Cory Rogers any good on the Allure?
I have not cruised with Cory as CD but had the opportunity to meet him when he came aboard Grandeur to shadow John Blair. He had just come from Carnival and was there to learn the ropes. I found him to be very personable and outgoing so I have good expectations for him.

Agree, very nice and approachable guy. 2 days into our 9 nt Indy cruise last month is when he accepted the Allure CD job, so his replacement took over from that point on.

If he was the CD in October on the Allure, I found him to be tolerable but not engaging.... Hope he will not be on the Enchantment. Yawn.
Thanks for keeping track of the CD's. Hope to sail with you again before too long..

Deltablue: According to Radio's live Anthem thread, CD Mark's last name is Rous.
Thanx, Donna!
Every CD has fans and detractors. Form your own opinion. 🙂

Why is a CD last name important? Just wondering.
Just for general identification purposes. With all the RCI ships and some old and new CDs, a last name just helps to make things clear.

We were on the Anthem's Thanksgiving cruise. CD introduced himself as ...." I am your cruise Director, It's Mark!". Exact words. Got me wondering what his last name or initial of last name was, not that it matters, but just curious.

If you are interested in this thread, then isn't the last name important? Mark isn't exactly a unique name so you could have different Marks. Isn't there a Mark Walker (or something like that)?
The current CD on Anthem is Mark Rous.
Just off the Independence OTS; Sophie was probably the worst CD I've encountered. Monotone voice, hardly any enthusiasm and just boring.
Update...12-2-21 Can anyone update on Freedom, please?
ANTHEM: Mark Rous from Southampton #2076/#12
Marc Walker announced on that other site that he will be joining Mariner on January 15, 2022.

Entertainment Detailed For Upcoming Celebrity Beyond Cruise Ship
Sarah Bretz, Contributor
- March 15, 2022
Contents Show
Celebrity Cruises has announced new live shows and interactive experience that will be found on its ship coming this April, Celebrity Beyond.
The cruise line has assembled creative minds who have collaborated on major productions from Las Vegas and the West End to the Olympics, and for some of the world’s biggest brands and artists.
“ It has been such an honor to collaborate with some of the best live show creative minds to develop world-class performances and experiences at every turn throughout the ship,” said Celebrity’s Vice President of Entertainment, Lisa Lehr. “ Beyond delivers an onboard entertainment experience that our guests will be talking about long after they have returned home.”
Theater Stage Productions
The Theatre on Celebrity Beyond will be the largest in the fleet, and host three all-new production shows.
‘Elements’ is a journey through the five elements: air, water, earth, fire, and ether. The show utilizes state-of-the-art technology, mesmerizing visuals, and acrobatic performances.
Air sculptures created by Brooklyn-based artist Daniel Wurtzel are a highlight of the show, as air is blown into large sheets of flowing fabric, creating dancing art, along with a first-ever custom air fountain blow-out that floats over the audience.
With choreography by Got to Dance winner Lukas McFarlane and co-direction by Marck Stevens , renowned director from Vegas to Europe, and Liam Lunniss, visionary behind some of today’s top musical artists’ live concerts and productions, travelers won’t want to blink for fear of missing some of the ever-changing beauty in front of them.
‘Arte’ immerses audiences in iconic works of art in a ground-breaking masterpiece that combines dance with high-flying acrobatics and mind-bending visual effects.
The modern-day sculptural work of Brazilian artist Rubem Robierb is also featured, with a show segment based on his powerful “Peace Makers” sculpture displayed on the ship.
With choreography by London’s West End creative leader Kendra Horburgh (& Juliet), this moving masterpiece will forever change how audience-goers experience art.
‘Stage Door’ is like having an exclusive backstage pass into the heart of the biggest Broadway and West End musicals. The performances are accompanied by a full symphony orchestra that was recorded in the London Palladium, the UK’s most iconic theater.
The show is brought to life through cutting-edge technology by renowned director/choreographer of West End’s Thriller Live!, Gary Lloyd.
In Celebrity Beyond ‘s theater, wrapping around the stage is a 110-foot curved 4k LED screen, complete with five moving panels that open and move for immersive visual experiences and dramatic talent entrances and exits.
Floor projection technology integrates with the content on the screen, creating a seamless visual effects experience.
The hottest night spot on the ship will introduce a new concept show, along with two all-new live music nights:
The Jazz Joint at The Club
Produced by the team behind the entertainment at The Mayfair Supper Club at the Bellagio in Las Vegas, this speakeasy show concept features swinging jazz tunes with powerhouse vocalists, dancers, specialty acts, and some laughs along the way.
Music Nights
The club will also feature two new music experiences, the first of which is ‘Rocked.’ This event will feature vocalists and orchestra members from The Theatre to bring the most iconic concert moments of all time to the stage in a fast-paced, interactive concert.
‘Bring the Brass’ is a live tribute to the iconic bands of brass, spanning the decades from the great horn bands of the past to the modern musicians of today they have influenced, bringing energy, nostalgia, skill, and talent to the stage.

At the aft of the ship, this grand three-story space with floor-to-ceiling windows will offer different experience that change from day to night.
Activities and entertainment in the morning, afternoon, and evening include things like meditation, and a “Create and Pour” art and wine tasting class.
At night, Wonder at Eden will include six curated experience including three new cast shows.
Grand Plaza
This gathering place located at the heart of the ship features a spectacular chandelier as its focal point, which comes alive at night with eight all-new light shows choreographed to music. One of the shows will be enhanced with performances by the stage show performers from The Theatre.
Rooftop Garden
The Rooftop Garden on the Resort Deck will provide the perfect spot for morning Tai Chi, outdoor movies, and dancing under the stars.
Camp at Sea
The kids’ club space for kids three to 12 will feature a new partnership with “Adventures in Cardboard.”
Junior cruisers will enjoy activities blending competitive play and cooperative storytelling through their own cardboard works of art and imagination, a vlogging class utilizing Go Pros, and a variety of STEM activities involving coding, the ocean, and world geography.
The teen club will be for passengers ages 13-17, featuring silent disco parties, digital trivia, game night challenges, and more.
Celebrity Beyond Itineraries
Celebrity Beyond will depart on her maiden voyage on April 27, 2022 from Southampton, England on a 10-night western Europe cruise visiting Bordeaux, France; Lisbon, Portugal; and Seville, Malaga, Palma de Mallorca, and Barcelona, Spain.
The ship will then offer a variety of Mediterranean voyages, including nine-night Italian Riviera and France itineraries and 10-night Greek Isles cruises through early October.

'Not just a career': Cruise Director Kelly on what it's like running an entire ship
By Kristine Tarbert | 12 months ago
In an industry where 98 per cent of seafarers are men, Kelly Rose has managed to climb the ranks to become Cruise Director at Celebrity Cruises.
Rose attributes her success to the overwhelming support she received on her journey and is especially passionate about the importance of men and women supporting one another in the cruise industry.
Speaking to 9Honey Travel, she shares a little about what her life at sea looks like, revealing that her journey has become "more than just a career"
"While there have been challenges along the way I would recommend a life at sea to anyone," Rose tells us. "That's what we call it: A life at sea. Not a job at sea. Because working at sea is not just a career, it's a lifestyle and getting to enjoy this lifestyle is the best perk there is."
READ MORE: Why Tash found it hard to be taken seriously as a female CEO
Rose's career spanned across the events industry working in event management in Europe, before she got her start onboard cruise ships as a Junior Assistant Cruise Director.
"When I started my first job on a cruise ship, working as a junior assistant cruise director, I expected the environment to be competitive with people vying to get promoted. But I was wrong," she says.
"The first person I met and shared a room with, a lovely girl from Ireland, helped set me up for success."
Now her background in events and entertainment still plays a huge part in her daily duties.
"Every day is different. From planning new games to overseeing the day's entertainment schedule and making ship-wide announcements, I'm constantly on the go," Rose says.
READ MORE: The ideal length of time for a cruise holiday
Each day kicks off with the morning announcements, running through the list of onboard activities and information about the day's port of call.
"I love the ship-wide announcements as I get to greet the entire cruise. My day is then usually broken up between crew meetings, coordinating and hosting onboard activities and making sure the day's entertainment runs smoothly.
"A large part of my job is hosting the entertainment onboard the ship. We host two shows every evening and I love greeting all the theatre guests before the shows start."
Working on the ship of course comes with its own benefits as well: "One of the perks of being the cruise director is I normally bag a front row seat to all the amazing performances - I could watch the shows night after night, they never get old."
Of course another more obvious perk is the chance to travel the world. From when she first started out, travelling from Alaska to San Francisco, to now where she works on cruises out of Australia.
"Don't get me wrong, I look on enviously as our guests luxuriate in their one or two week holiday but I'm lucky enough to travel to amazing places year round, without having to be off the clock," Rose adds.
READ MORE: The ultimate guide to solo cruising
Rose credits many people she worked with to getting her to where she is today, including her first ever Cruise Director.
"He positively challenged me and empowered me to make decisions. It was his communication skills that made him a great leader and mentor. I would have happily stayed as his right hand indefinitely but he recommended me for the cruise director position," she says.
And as for the most rewarding part of her role, it's building a relationship with the many guests she meets.
"[I love] getting to be the familiar face that our guests see every day of their holiday. I love walking round the ship and chatting to everyone, making sure they feel welcome and have a holiday they'll never forget."

Celebrity Reflection Debuts New Look After Drydock at Chantier Naval de Marseille
- October 29, 2022
The Celebrity Reflection became the latest ship to showcase Celebrity Cruises’ new look following a drydock in France.
After spending over ten days at the Chantier Naval de Marseille, the 2012-vessel is now sporting a blue-colored hull that was first introduced by the Celebrity Edge in 2018 .
Part of the company’s new livery, the look is now present on ten of the 12 Celebrity Cruises large cruise ships.
During its recent shipyard visit, the Reflection also underwent maintenance and technical upkeep, in addition to regulatory and class work.
Set to cross the Atlantic for a winter season in the Caribbean, the Solstice-Class ship recently completed its tenth year in service .
First introduced in 2012, the 126,000-ton vessel is slightly larger than its four sister ships and features an extra deck with additional public areas and cabins.
Among its facilities is a glass-enclosed pool deck, a selection of ten dining venues – including five specialty restaurants – and a three-deck main theater.
The Reflection also features Celebrity’s unique Lawn Club, an outside deck with a half-acre real grass lawn, as well as the exclusive Reflection Suite.
The two-bedroom accommodation offers a total of 150 square meter of space, in addition to a distinctive, all-glass shower extending out over the edge of the 3,030-passenger ship.
With its new blue hull, the Reflection is set to offer week-long cruises to the Caribbean during Celebrity’s 2022-2023 winter season .
Departing from Fort Lauderdale on every Sunday, the vessel will sail an alternating schedule of Western and Eastern Caribbean voyages.
Itineraries include visits to popular destinations in Mexico, Belize, Honduras, St. Maarten, St. Thomas, The Bahamas and more.
For the 2023 summer, the Reflection is slated to return to Europe for a series of seven- to ten-night cruises to the Mediterranean.

Sandra Bornstein
Lisa Richard, A Trailblazing Cruise Director
January 3, 2013 By Sandra Bornstein Leave a Comment
Some professions continue to be male dominated. Cruise directors fall into that category. When Lisa Richard joined the Celebrity Cruise Line staff three years ago, she was the first woman that Celebrity hired to fill this position, a trailblazing cruise director.
Since her hiring, Celebrity has offered 3 other women similar positions. Each talented woman brings a unique set of skills and interestingly represents different stages of life- the 30s, 40s and 60s. Lisa rounds out the age groupings by representing the 50s.
Before having the pleasure of sailing with Lisa, I had grown accustomed to gregarious male cruise directors. Lisa’s gracious personality coupled with her femininity cannot be duplicated by her male counterparts. She candidly admitted, “I can hug a guest and it’s not considered weird.” I would have to agree. Women can extend a certain level of warmth that a man cannot achieve.
After reading through her bio, I couldn’t help but wonder what motivated a woman to pursue so many diverse careers. While sailing between Athens and Sicily, we sat down to chat. With only a pen and paper in hand, I took notes as I sipped a cappuccino. Lisa drank a diet soft drink.
One’s upbringing oftentimes affects a person. Did her family/childhood influence her career aspirations? She smiled and responded, “Yes.” Her childhood was filled with loving memories of an idyllic marriage. Lisa was forthright when she stated that although she has met many men in her life, she “couldn’t settle for something less than what her parents had shared.” In addition to setting a high standard for marriage, her parents instilled values that allowed Lisa to face adult challenges without hesitation. A dominant tenet was the belief that children should pursue what they want to do rather than what parents would like for them to do . As a result, Lisa said that she is “not afraid to make big leaps.”
After Lisa’s mother passed away, her father was diagnosed with cancer. Her family values drew her back home. Lisa wanted to remain by her father’s side. This caused a conflict between work and family. Rather than dividing her time, she chose to quit her executive position. Not knowing what would happen next, she followed her parent’s values and “did what she wanted to do.”
Even though Lisa had not received any formal training, she embarked on a singing career- first in California and later in New York. She adored her new lifestyle. Days free and evening performances were a pleasant change after the demanding hours of the corporate world.
Luck and talent opened the door to her debut in Mama Mia . Being in her 40s and having an exuberant attitude opened the door to her first major contract. The producers of the show were looking for certain personalities with talent rather than known stars.
The grueling schedule of over 1300 performances in four years left her drained. Working for a cancer charity in Las Vegas provided an opportunity to provide support for cancer victims and simultaneously use her business skills. Once again, she felt that something was missing.
Although she had never experienced the joy of a cruise vacation, she was intrigued when she came across an ad for a cruise director. After extensively researching the profession, she learned about the expectations and duties associated with this administrative position. Confident that her entertainment and business skills made her well suited, she applied. Celebrity hired her shortly thereafter.
Unlike others who worked their way up through a series of cruise positions, she became a 3.5 stripe officer immediately. With an impressive business background, she was able to adeptly handle the management responsibilities. Many assume that a cruise director merely acts in a social capacity. That is only part of her duties. Cruise directors are part of a team of officers that oversee safety and security. Lisa also uses her business skills for audits, compliance and brand quality. With a staff of approximately 90 people, she supervises the audio visual components of the shows, the satellite information, the art studio and children’s services.
Entering a new profession in your 40s takes moxy. From the onset, she felt that people would either love or hate her. Celebrity Cruises provided a brief apprenticeship. She shadowed her predecessor for a 14 day cruise. Then she took over the reins. Trial and error became her mantra. She analyzed the comments on the passenger’s surveys. It took about 1 ½ months to find her comfort level and style. Central to her pursuit was her desire to maintain her own personality. Within no time, her ratings matched her personal expectations.
Catering to a diverse audience can be challenging, especially since the audience is continually changing based on the time of year, location of the cruise, and the duration. Each aspect of the guests’ mix- language, citizenship, ages, etc is taken into consideration when she schedules activities and entertainment. What appeals to a younger audience will not necessarily appeal to a geriatric group. Acknowledging cultural differences and acting accordingly comes hand in hand with working on a cruise ship with an international clientele.Lisa thrives in an environment that is filled with cultural diversity. She sees “every cruise as an amoeba. Each takes on its own shape because every sailing is different.”
As our time together came to a close, I asked her to identify the most fulfilling aspect of her position. Without hesitation she said, “guests who tell me that they had an awesome vacation.” Secondly, she stated that she is inspired by an international crew that works together with little strife. After living a myopic life in the US, she enjoys learning about different cultures.
Most Celebrity passengers who have witnessed Lisa’s talents would agree that Lisa is a trailblazer in the cruise industry.

List of Carnival Cruise Directors by Ship for August and September 2023
by Prof. Cruise · August 2, 2023
One of the most common questions I receive and see asked on cruise boards and social media sites is: Who will my cruise director be? To which there are always several follow up questions asked by new cruisers to the effect of: What the heck is a cruise director? Well I’m here to answer both of those questions! First…
What does a Cruise Director do?
Besides not sleep, smile through exhaustion and frustration, and dish out almost as many corny jokes as yours truly? Quite a lot! In fact, cruise directors are the most visible crew members onboard a cruise ship and often work up to 16 hours per day with no days off during their contract period (usually lasting around 4 months, but up to 9 months in some cases). While passengers will see them constantly out and about introducing shows, MC’ing activities and events, and interacting with guests, they are also responsible for behind-the-scenes scheduling and coordination of all entertainment and activities and certain safety protocols.
Many regular Carnival cruisers have a favorite cruise director they look forward to sailing with. So, let’s get to our second question, who will the cruise director be on my Carnival cruise?
Who will the Cruise Director be on my upcoming Carnival Cruise?
Wondering who the cruise director will be on your upcoming Carnival cruise? Find the list of cruise directors by ship for the months of August and September 2023 here.
Important notes: * There is usually a week of overlap in the contracts of a current cruise director and their replacement. So, if you’re booked on the last sailing of a certain cruise director, you may actually see more of their replacement who is gearing up to take over. I’ve noted the exact “sign-off” and “sign-on” dates during August and September for each cruise director where there is overlap. ** While I try my best to keep this up-to-date, schedules sometimes change at the last minute, so I can’t guarantee this will always be 100% accurate. If you need 100% certainty as to who your cruise director will be, I recommend asking John Heald, Carnival’s Brand Ambassador, via the “community” tab on his Facebook page a week or so before your sailing date. ***All photos courtesy of Carnival Cruise Line

Celebrity Eclipse Itineraries
Celebrity eclipse review, review of celebrity eclipse.
The 2010-built Celebrity Eclipse cruise ship is the 3rd of the Solstice-class Celebrity Cruise boats, together with Equinox , Silhouette , Solstice , Reflection . Celebrity Cruises Eclipse ship was scheduled for "Celebrity Revolution" drydock refurbishment on April 1, 2020.
The vessel (IMO number 9404314) is currently Malta- flagged (MMSI 249666000) and registered in Valletta .
History - construction and ownership
Celebrity Cruises was founded in 1988 as the Greece-based Chandris Line (cruise shipping operations between 1974-1996). In 1997, Royal Caribbean International (RCI) merged with "Celebrity Cruises Ltd" to become "Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd" (RCCL). The "X" on ship funnels is the Greek letter chi (standing for "Chandris"). Common features of Celebrity Cruises ships include aft located glass-walled dining rooms, signature alternate dining venues, bars and lounges, spacious Atrium lobby areas, a large number of balcony staterooms, large sundecks with swimming pools, The Retreat (adults-only sundeck with full-size swimming pool, Jacuzzi, cabanas, poolside full bar service). Rooftop Terrace (top-deck outdoor lounge-restaurant-cinema), large Spa (with Thermal Suites), premium retail shops selling top-brand merchandise.
The 2900-passenger ship Celebrity Eclipse is the 3rd Solstice-class vessel, preceded by Celebrity Equinox and Celebrity Solstice, considered to be the most environment-friendly in the world, with a photovoltaic system, optimized hull design, efficient lighting system, and hull coatings - innovations, which save 30% more energy. Celebrity Eclipse went into dry dock in April 2015 and came out in May with new features: the Cellar Masters wine bar became the Gastrobar, serving 40 and even more craft beers. Passengers are now able to order drink and food on iPads. A frozen drink bar, the Slush, was added to the pool area. The American-style casino became more British with twelve British-themed slot machines. Eclipse also boasts a private photo studio.
Decks and Cabins
Celebrity Eclipse staterooms (1425 total, in 30 grades) include 66x Suites, 1145 Balconies, 70x Oceanviews, 140x Inside cabins. Most staterooms are sized 195 ft2 / 18 m2. Around 85% of all passenger accommodations have a private step-out balcony. Most balconies are sized 55 ft2 / 5 m2. Wheelchair-accessible cabins are 30. The largest are the Penthouse Suites (1290 ft2 / 120 m2 with terrace sized 390 ft2 / 36 m2).
The boat has 15 decks , of which 14 are passenger-accessible and 8 with cabins.

Celebrity Cruises Eclipse ship was launched on February 28, 2010. The liner belongs to the company's Solstice-class vessels, with sisterships Equinox , Reflection , Silhouette , Solstice . Eclipse was built by Meyer Werft at Papenburg Shipyard (Germany) .
As newbuilds , Solstice-class liners were among the most environment-friendly marine vessels ever constructed. The Eclipse ship has an efficient hull design coated with light-emitting diodes and an innovative photovoltaic system. This way, the boat's energy-saving increases ~30% compared to a similar-class passenger vessel. Solstice-class also featured the fleet's first new cabin types and categories (ConciergeClass, AquaClass). Around 85% of all passenger staterooms have private step-out balconies.
The ship's namesakes are the two Scenic Yacht Cruises' superyachts Scenic Eclipse (2019) and Scenic Eclipse II (2023).
