As per the legends , It is believed that this gorgeous place was a temporary abode for the Pandavas for a short period. During the stay at this fascinating destination, their wife Draupadi went to take a bath in the pond. Some devas observed her and were admired at her beauty. To prevent any kind of misdeed from happening, Lord Indra built hills in the form of screen to block the view. Since then the pond became a dam surrounded by hills. How To Reach Thangal Hill 

Thangal Para is around 5 kms from Vagamon and can be reached in a private taxi cab or auto. You have to take the deviation on the Elappara route to reach the darga, or you can also drive down to the spot.

Be careful as the pathway is very slippery rocky especially during monsoon season. You can take your vehicle quite close to the waterfalls through the newly constructed road. So then just need to walk less than 200 meters to the destination.You can also drive down or take a private taxi or cab to reach this spot. Similarly, you can travel in KSRTC buses as well. 11. Idukki Dam
