Shaikh Fariduddin, a Sufi Saint lived on the hill. According to legends, the spherical rock grew considerably after his death; his tomb is near the spherical rock. Thangal para holds captivating views of Vagamon town and its surrounding areas. You can spot Kurisindi Peak and Murugan Mala from Thanglapara.

1. K urisumala Ashram

Kurisumala Ashram is a well known tourist attraction in Vagamon which is situated in Kottayam-Idukki district border. Waterfalls is located just 5 kms away from the main road to vagamon from pala. In order to reach the waterfalls, one has to trek through the middle of an estate. Be careful as the pathway is very slippery rocky especially during monsoon season. You can take your vehicle quite close to the waterfalls through the newly constructed road. So then just need to walk less than 200 meters to the destination.You can also drive down or take a private taxi or cab to reach this spot. Similarly, you can travel in KSRTC buses as well. From there, the waterfalls can be reached through a 2 km short trek upwards on the hill

Idukki Arch Dam is a major attraction in Vagamon which is constructed in a gorge between two hills, Kuravathi and Kuravan.
