Ranking ALL the Table Service Restaurants at Walt Disney World

tourist dining table

It goes without saying that Disney World is a mecca of restaurants , bars, snacks , you name it. Table Service restaurants , in particular, really bring the wow factor in terms of atmosphere, theming, and menu options, which explains why they’re as sought-after as Rise of the Resistance!

tourist dining table

Still, not all Table Service restaurants are made the same — in fact, some are just straight-up better than others !

From food and service to ambience and theming, there are a lot of factors that go into what takes a Disney World Table Service restaurant from good to great ! Or, you know, from good to meh.

tourist dining table

So we thought it was an apt time to pull together reader reviews  to rank all the Table Service restaurants at Disney World . Not counting bars (sorry, Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto ) or restaurants that remain closed (looking at you, Victoria and Albert’s ), these are the definitive standings for Disney World’s full-service restaurants according to you !

Paradiso 37

Coming in at the bottom of the list (no offense to the margaritas) is Paradiso 37 .

tourist dining table

The Disney Springs spot might have a killer happy hour, but there’s nothing too happy about an average rating of 5.37 (out of 10…oof) , and recommendations from just 48% of All Ears readers .

Paradiso 37, Taste of the Americas Restaurant

Wow, it’s rough going for this particular section of Disney Springs, because nearby STK has the second-lowest rating in all of Disney World .

tourist dining table

Maybe y’all have zero tolerance for sliders, or you’re just not digging the “sexy steakhouse” vibe, but the restaurants earns a paltry 5.59 rating and a 41% recommendation .

STK Orlando Restaurant

Continuing the odd streak of Disney Springs restaurants doing poorly in that particular area, The Edison comes in next .

tourist dining table

Apparently the theatrics — and the clothesline bacon — just aren’t cutting it, because the steampunk-y dining spot clocks in with a 6.40 rating and 67% recommendation score .

The Edison Restaurant

Tutto gusto wine cellar.

Next up is our first semi-surprise of the ratings: Tutto Gusto Wine Cellar . The horror!

tourist dining table

We thought this cozy Italian wine bar in EPCOT’s Italy Pavilion was enchanting and fun, but evidently the consensus is not shared, as Tutto Gusto Wine Cellar has just a 6.41 rating . It’s recommended by 71% of readers , though, which isn’t atrocious.

Tutto Gusto Wine Cellar Restaurant

Big river grille and brewing works.

Now back to not being surprised. Bless its heart, but Big River Grille and Brewing Works on Disney’s BoardWalk is oft overlooked for a reason .

tourist dining table

The family-friendly brewpub feels kinda chain-y and bland, especially by Disney standards. With a user rating of 6.45 , you clearly agree. It does a bit better with a recommendation average of 85% though .

Big River Grille and Brewing Works Restaurant

Now back over to Disney Springs (surprise, surprise) for another weirdly low-ranking heavy-hitter: Paddlefish .

tourist dining table

The boat setting, and the fancy seafood and steaks, are all super cool, but perhaps it feels a bit stuffy and overwrought, which might explain its measly 6.60 rating — and rather abysmal 60% recommendation score.

Paddlefish Restaurant

Maria & enzo’s ristorante.

Another Disney Springs restaurant that doesn’t meet muster, according to readers, is Maria & Enzo’s Ristorante !

Maria and Enzos Ristorante Dining Room

Yes it’s charming and comforting in a red sauce kinda way, but still, it only earns a 6.75 rating , and a shockingly low 58% recommendation . Guess the idea of eating spaghetti in a quasi-hangar just doesn’t cut it.

Maria and Enzo's Ristorante Restaurant

Whispering canyon cafe.

Finally, Disney Springs catches a break, because next on the lower end of the ratings ranking is Whispering Canyon Cafe in Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Resort.

tourist dining table

Maybe it’s the Western theming that’s a bit jarring, or the fact that “all-you-care-to-enjoy skillets and shenanigans,” as Disney describes it, just sounds rather daunting. Either way, this buffet-style spot comes in with a 6.84 ranking and a 70% recommendation .

Whispering Canyon Cafe Restaurant

Chef mickey’s.

Well well well, it looks like a restaurant can’t glide by on its characters alone, now can it?! Chef Mickey’s , rather unexpectedly, ranks quite low on the list .

tourist dining table

Mostly known as one of the foremost Character Dining spots in Disney World, the restaurant inside Disney’s Contemporary Resort isn’t regarded as much for its food. That’s a sentiment made abundantly clear by its 6.89 rating and 70% recommendation .

Chef Mickey's Restaurant

Frontera cocina.

One of the more underrated chef-y restaurants in Disney Springs, Frontera Cocina is apparently overlooked for a reason .

tourist dining table

Despite its colorful confines, its awesome margs, and ooey-gooey queso, the Mexican restaurant doesn’t do too well in the rankings, with just 6.93, and a thumbs up from 64% of readers .

Frontera Cocina Restaurant

Nine dragons.

Despite its glossy facade, vibrant lanterns, and pretty decor, Nine Dragons just doesn’t stand out enough on its food .

tourist dining table

The Chinese restaurant, in EPCOT’s China Pavilion, comes in next with a 6.93 rating and a 68% recommendation score . Looks like Honey Sesame Chicken and Crispy Duck Bao Buns just don’t cut it.

Nine Dragons Restaurant Restaurant

Crystal palace.

The next big surprise comes courtesy of Magic Kingdom, as Crystal Palace officially becomes the lowest ranked restaurant in that park . Womp womp.

tourist dining table

In spite of its cute Winnie the Pooh topiaries, its lavish Victorian decor, and its buffet-style feasts, the restaurant only has a 6.98 rating and 76% recommendation .

Crystal Palace Restaurant

Is it just us, or is it weird to see EPCOT, the park most known as a dining destination, do so poorly in the restaurant rankings?! At any rate, here we are with another unfortunate surprise: Coral Reef .

tourist dining table

The under-the-sea restaurant definitely wows with its aquarium setting, but maybe it just feels odd to eat seafood while sitting next to…live sea animals? That might explain why Coral Reef only has a 7.03 rating and 72% recommendation .

Coral Reef Restaurant Restaurant

Tony’s town square.

We’re sensing a theme: Italian-American cuisine is a routine disappointment for Disney World diners .

tourist dining table

Not even Lady & the Tramp can rescue Tony’s Town Square from its low rating of 7.06, and its equally so-so recommendation of 75% .

Tony's Town Square Restaurant

Flying fish.

Back on the BoardWalk, it would appear that Flying Fish isn’t flying too high in the rankings .

tourist dining table

The upscale seafood-centric restaurant recently reopened , but according to its 7.14 rating and 71% recommendation , it would seem that a lot of you were un-phased by such news.

Flying Fish Restaurant

Can we take a moment and giggle at the fact that T-Rex , essentially a dinosaur-themed Rainforest Cafe, out-ranks other Disney Springs spots like STK and Paddlefish?!

tourist dining table

While T-Rex does a decent job in the rankings, it’s still just 7.16 (with a 74% recommendation) , which isn’t much to brag about.

T-Rex Restaurant

La hacienda de san angel.

There are a lot of Mexican dining options in EPCOT’s Mexico Pavilion, so they can’t all be amazing. Hence why La Hacienda de San Angel comes in at the bottom of the pack .

tourist dining table

Sure, it’s got the waterfront views and the Tres Leches Cake, but it certainly doesn’t take the cake in the rankings, with a 7.21 rating and 73% recommendation .

La Hacienda de San Angel Restaurant

In all fairness, when you share a hotel with ‘Ohana, you really have your work cut out for you when trying to stand out and entice diners. Kona Cafe , you have our sympathies.

tourist dining table

That said, the island-inspired sushi-slinger at the Polynesian Resort comes in with a modest 7.34 rating and a slightly better than modest 79% recommendation average .

Kona Cafe Restaurant

Sci-fi dine-in theatre.

Finally, it’s time to welcome Disney’s Hollywood Studios to this list! Surprisingly, though, the park’s lowest rated restaurant is also its hardest to get into …

tourist dining table

… Sci-Fi Dine-in Theatre is notoriously difficult to snag a reservation for, so maybe it’s out of pure resentment that the Americana restaurant comes in with a 7.34 rating and 82% recommendation .

Sci Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant

Back over to EPCOT, we’re in the Canada Pavilion with another unexpectedly low rating for Le Cellier .

tourist dining table

It’s hard to imagine a steakhouse in a literal castle not getting a perfect score, but indeed, it’s got a 7.37 rating average from readers , and an even more dismaying 70% recommendation . Was this restaurant only rated by vegetarians?!

Le Cellier Restaurant

Trattoria al forno.

Well would you look at that: another Italian restaurant most of you couldn’t care less about! Next up is the BoardWalk’s Trattoria al Forno .

tourist dining table

We’d call it underrated, but with a bland 7.41 rating — and 74% recommendation — it seems it’s rated appropriately.

Trattoria al Forno Restaurant

La cantina de san angel.

On the plus side, EPCOT’s La Cantina de San Angel does better than La Hacienda. On the down side, it doesn’t do better by much.

tourist dining table

The waterside Mexican restaurant clocks in with a 7.43 rating , though its 85% recommendation is a more sizable improvement compared to La Hacienda’s 73%!

La Cantina de San Angel Restaurant

Be our guest.

Proof that popularity isn’t everything , one of Disney World’s buzziest (i.e. hardest to get into) Table Service restaurants has a meh rating that might come as a shock to some.

tourist dining table

We speak of Be Our Guest , the Beauty and the Beast -themed castle restaurant in Magic Kingdom. The Grey Stuff may be delicious, but the 7.47 rating is less so . Ditto the 79% recommendation .

Be Our Guest Restaurant

Cinderella’s royal table.

Almost identical to Be Our Guest, in terms of castle setting, Magic Kingdom locale, and reservation difficulty, Cinderella’s Royal Table is another spot whose popularity does not equate to ratings gold .

tourist dining table

Just barely outpacing Be Our Guest, the Cinderella spot has a 7.60 rating and 81% recommendation average .

Cinderella's Royal Table Restaurant

We’ll chalk this one up to its newness, which might explain why Disney World’s most popular new restaurant has an oddly low rating compared to its fanfare.

tourist dining table

Space 220 , the outta-this-world (literally) dining spot in EPCOT’s Future World, has an average rating of 7.62 and recommendations from 83% of diners . Again, this place is still pretty brand new, so let’s give it more time to add some more reviews to the equation…

Space 220 Restaurant

Cape may cafe.

We love the New England-style nautical theming at Cape May Cafe inside Disney’s Beach Club Resort, but according to its ratings, it would seem only some of you agree.

tourist dining table

The sunny, pastel-hued seafood spot clocks in with a 7.65 rating, and 85% recommendation score .

Cape May Cafe Restaurant

Tutto italia ristorante.

On the one hand, Tutto Italia Ristorante does a lot better than its adjoining Tutto Gusto Wine Cella r. But on the other hand, it’s still not great.

tourist dining table

Located in EPCOT’s Italy Pavilion, this elegant restaurant continues the Italian curse with a 7.67 rating and 80% recommendation .

Tutto Italia Ristorante Restaurant

Wine bar george.

Now back to Disney Springs for a restaurant that in our opinion definitely deserves a higher rating: Wine Bar George .

tourist dining table

Maybe most of these reviews come from beer-drinkers, because 7.69 seems sacrilege for a wine bar from a certified master sommelier. Especially egregious is the 69% recommendation score .

Wine Bar George Restaurant

Tokyo dining.

Making our way further around EPCOT’s World Showcase, with a stop in Japan, Tokyo Dining is next up with its middle-of-the-road rating .

tourist dining table

The upscale restaurant, known for its sizzling entrees, sushi, and lagoon views, comes in with a 7.86 rating and 86% recommendation .

Tokyo Dining Restaurant

Jungle navigation co. ltd. skipper canteen.

Proof that a restaurant can’t get by on pithy jokes alone, next up is Magic Kingdom’s beloved (by some, at least) Jungle Navigation Co. Ltd. Skipper Canteen .

tourist dining table

The Jungle Cruise theming is fun and immersive, the Cast Member jokes are appropriately campy, and the food is adventurous (by Magic Kingdom standards, at least), but it’s still only decent with a 7.91 rating and 85% recommendation .

Jungle Navigation Co., Ltd. Skipper Canteen Restaurant

Are we surprised to see EPCOT’s Biergarten do better than, say, Le Cellier? Yes. Are we surprised that a festive, immersive German beer hall, complete with folksy live music, is a hit with families? Definitely no.

tourist dining table

Thus, Biergarten in the Germany Pavilion outpaces expectations with a solid 7.98 rating and 86% recommendation .

Biergarten Restaurant Restaurant

Now we’re getting into more positive territory, with the decently reviewed and respected Jaleo in Disney Springs .

tourist dining table

Courtesy of celeb chef José Andrés, the sprawling Spanish temple earns a respectable 8.00 rating and 80% recommendation .

Jaleo Restaurant

Rose and crown.

Oh, Rose and Crown , how we adore you . We’re glad to see that this U.K. Pavilion pub and restaurant in EPCOT does well in the ratings!

tourist dining table

With 8.03 , it’s a solid showing for this cozy spot for Fish & Chips and Black & Tans. It does even better in the recommendation average, with glowing approval from 87% .

Rose and Crown Pub Restaurant

Via napoli ristorante e pizzeria.

It would appear that the more casual the ambience and dining experience, the better Italian restaurants do in the ratings, as evidenced by the high standing for EPCOT’s Via Napoli Ristorante e Pizzeria .

tourist dining table

Easily the highest ranked restaurant in the Italy Pavilion, the pizza-centric spot walks away with a 8.03 rating and 84% recommendation .

Via Napoli Ristorante e Pizzeria Restaurant

Chefs de france.

Tied with nearby Via Napoli, while doing slightly better in the recommendation score, is Chefs de France .

tourist dining table

The charming French brasserie in the France Pavilion also has a 8.03 rating, with an even better 85% recommendation for all things escargots and Champagne.

Chefs de France Restaurant

California grill.

Next up is one of Disney World’s most iconic Table Service dining experiences: California Grill .

tourist dining table

Known for its fireworks views from atop Disney’s Contemporary Resort, as well as its sushi, tasting menus, and generally glam ambiance, the fine dining staple has a respectable 8.04 rating and 83% recommendation score .

California Grill Restaurant

Boatwright’s dining hall.

Y’all must love Louisiana vibes, because this casual boat-themed restaurant in Disney’s Port Orleans Resort does surprisingly well in the ratings .

tourist dining table

Boatwright’s Dining Hall , in all its jambalaya glory, earns a solid 8.13 rating , and a rather staggering 90% recommendation .

Boatwright's Dining Hall Restaurant

Raglan road.

It’s nice to see things turning around for Disney Springs restaurants. Next up is the Irish-themed Raglan Road .

tourist dining table

A comfy-cozy Irish pub in the middle of Disney Springs, the crowd-pleaser has a laudable rating of 8.15 and approval from 88% of readers .

Raglan Road Restaurant

Yes, rating this highly in the rankings is something to applaud, but we honestly thought ‘Ohana might be even higher up the list tbh .

tourist dining table

Regardless, 8.15 is nothing to scoff at for this beloved Hawaiian-themed restaurant inside Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, where noodles and bread pudding are some of our favorite bites in all of Disney World. Its 85% recommendation is a nice showing, as well .

'Ohana Restaurant

The hollywood brown derby.

Now we’re finally heading back to Disney’s Hollywood Studios for that park’s second restaurant on the list: The Hollywood Brown Derby .

tourist dining table

One of the most iconic, enduring restaurants in Disney World, the Old Hollywood-style spot has a solid 8.26 rating and 83% recommendation . Never underestimate the power of a good Cobb Salad.

Hollywood Brown Derby Restaurant

Plot twist: one of the highest-ranked Mexican-themed restaurants in Disney World is not in EPCOT’s Mexico Pavilion , but in Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort!

tourist dining table

With its ornate Mayan theming and inventive modern Mex fare, Maya Grill gets an 8.27 rating and 82% recommendation from hungry readers.

Maya Grill Restaurant

Olivia’s cafe.

It’s nice to see an underrated restaurant get the respect it deserves , as is the case with the cheery and charming Olivia’s at Disney’s Old Key West Resort.

tourist dining table

One of the best spots for low-key amazing fried chicken in Disney World, the beachy ’n’ breezy Key West-inspired eatery stands out with its 8.29 rating and 86% recommendation .

Olivia's Cafe Restaurant

Spice road table.

Another underrated Disney World restaurant getting its dues is Spice Road Table !

tourist dining table

With some of the best waterfront views in EPCOT, not to mention some of the tastiest food and cocktails in World Showcase, the Moroccan restaurant nails it with an 8.30 rating and 87% recommendation .

Spice Road Table Restaurant

50’s prime time cafe.

Apparently most of you love a little sass with your Pot Roast , because this kitschy Americana spot in Disney’s Hollywood Studios is doing quite well in the rankings!

tourist dining table

Known equally for its vintage American comfort food as well as its sassy servers, 50’s Prime Time Cafe has a solid showing with an 8.31 rating and 89% recommendation score .

'50s Prime Time Cafe Restaurant

Grand floridian cafe.

Who can say no to some Buttermilk-fried Chicken and Lobster “Thermidor” Burgers ? Most of you can’t, evidently.

tourist dining table

Grand Floridian Cafe , the opulent all-white restaurant inside Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, has an aptly grand rating of 8.33, and a recommendation from 89% of readers .

Grand Floridian Cafe Restaurant

Tusker house.

The fact that Animal Kingdom is only just now entering the rankings is proof that it’s low-key the best dining park in Disney World .

tourist dining table

The bad news: Tusker House , the airy buffet-style restaurant with Character Dining, is the lowest rated restaurant in the park. The good news: it’s still got an impressive 8.34 rating and 86% recommendation , which says a lot about the quality of Animal Kingdom’s restaurants in general.

Tusker House Restaurant Restaurant

Now back to Disney’s Grand Floridian for the next restaurant on the list, the impossibly chic Citricos .

tourist dining table

Yes, it’s more about cocktails, wine, and small plates at this gorgeous spot, but that isn’t stopping Citricos from earning a fantastic 8.40 rating and 93% (!) recommendation .

Citricos Restaurant

Yak and yeti.

Next from Animal Kingdom is none other than the bi-level Asian stunner, Yak & Yeti .

tourist dining table

Adored for its intricate, immersive decor, as well as its authentic Indian-Nepalese cuisine, Yak & Yeti’s 8.42 rating is well-earned . Ditto its 88% recommendation .

Yak and Yeti Restaurant Restaurant

Boma flavors of africa.

Nearby, in Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, Boma Flavors of Africa is a straight-up fan-fav that stands out with a fantastic spot in the rankings!

tourist dining table

According to readers, this is one of the best buffet-style restaurants in Disney World, with its 8.44 rating and amazing 94% recommendation average.

Boma - Flavors of Africa Restaurant

Morimoto asia.

Maybe it’s the pristine sushi and seafood, the celebrity chef manning the menus, or the luxe ambience, but Morimoto Asia is definitely among the highest reviewed restaurants in Disney Springs .

tourist dining table

The massive Japanese restaurant performs quite well here, with its 8.47 rating and 90% recommendation , easily outpacing other nearby spots like STK and Paradiso 37.

Morimoto Asia Restaurant

The boathouse.

Another smash-hit Disney Springs spot is The BOATHOUSE , which easily out-performs that other boat-themed restaurant nearby, Paddlefish.

tourist dining table

From its gorgeous nautical decor to its raw bar offerings, cocktails, seafood, steaks, and back patio dock, there’s a lot to love about this one, so its 8.47 rating makes sense. As does its 86% recommendation .

The BOATHOUSE Restaurant

Terralina crafted italian.

Drum roll please for the highest ranked Italian restaurant in Disney World! It’s been quite a journey, but Disney Springs’ Terralina Crafted Italian easily takes the crown there .

tourist dining table

Another underrated dining spot in Disney World, and in Disney Springs particularly, this chic restaurant clocks in with a fantastic 8.50 rating and 90% recommendation .

Terralina Crafted Italian Restaurant

You can’t deny the influence of Indian-style Bread Service. Or any of the other amazing, authentic African- and Indian-inspired eats at Sanaa .

tourist dining table

The beautiful restaurant, with wildlife views from Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, is a full-blown dining destination all its own, with its 8.59 rating and 94% recommendation .

Sanaa Restaurant

Toledo – tapas, steak, & seafood.

From its artsy, avant-garde motif to its elegant tapas and top-tier steaks, Toledo – Tapas, Steak & Seafood has a lot to rave about , hence its high standing in the rankings.

tourist dining table

Located inside Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort, this is easily one of the best dining spots in Disney World. So its 8.60 rating (and 80% recommendation ) is merited.

Toledo -- Tapas, Steak, & Seafood Restaurant

Kinda like Sanaa, but in Animal Kingdom park, Tiffins is another African- and Indian-themed restaurant that’s a smash hit .

tourist dining table

With its epic bread service (served in a transportive gallery-like space that’ll make you feel like you’re on an African glamping safari), the restaurant comes in with a 8.64 rating and 83% recommendation .

Tiffins Restaurant

Finally, a restaurant from EPCOT’s World Showcase that doesn’t do surprisingly poorly in the rankings !

tourist dining table

Teppan Edo in the Japan Pavilion, known for its action-packed hibachi cooking, has quite the fan base with its 8.68 rating and 94% recommendation .

Teppan Edo Restaurant

Steakhouse 71.

Unlike Space 220, Steakhouse 71 is one newcomer that’s already amassed instant obsession and rave reviews , which explains its high standing on the list.

tourist dining table

The steakhouse inside Disney’s Contemporary Resort has only been around for a few months, but that hasn’t stopped in from earning a powerhouse 8.79 rating and 86% recommendation .

Steakhouse 71 Restaurant

Topolino’s terrace – flavors of the riviera.

Never underestimate the power of a rooftop view. Known for its staggering panorama from Disney’s Riviera Resort, as well as its French/Italian/Mediterranean menus, Topolino’s Terrace – Flavors of the Riviera has a rating as tall as its views .

tourist dining table

According to readers, the posh restaurant earns an 8.82 rating and recommendation from 91% of diners .

Topolino's Terrace -- Flavors of the Riviera Restaurant

Turf club bar and grill.

It would seem that a lot of you really have a soft spot for a clubhouse vibe, as evidenced by Turf Club Bar and Grill ’s surprisingly strong showing in the rankings .

tourist dining table

Located inside Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort, this cozy clubhouse-style American restaurant comes in with a sky-high 8.84 rating . Even more impressive? The fact that 95% of readers recommend this place .

Turf Club Bar and Grill Restaurant

Jiko – the cooking place.

Clearly, Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge is a foodie destination, and of all the go-to’s in that resort, Jiko – The Cooking Place reigns supreme .

tourist dining table

With an 8.88 rating — and 90% recommendation — the recently reopened restaurant is a stunner with its lustrous decor and equally lustrous South African-inspired cuisine.

Jiko - The Cooking Place Restaurant

Chef art smith’s homecomin’.

We’ve come a long way with Disney Springs, but now we’re at the top. Coming in as the highest rated restaurant there is none other than Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’ !

tourist dining table

We can’t say we’re surprised by this one at all. From the fried chicken to the moonshine, this beautiful Southern charmer fully deserves its 8.94 rating and 90% recommendation score .

Homecomin' Restaurant

Narcoossee’s.

The grandest of all Grand Floridian restaurants (at least until Victoria & Albert’s reopens…), Narcoossee’s takes the cake with the highest ranking in Disney World’s most luxe hotel .

tourist dining table

Known for its high-end surf and turf-style menu, with sweeping views of the Seven Seas Lagoon, the restaurant ranks highly with 8.98 and a ringing endorsement from 90% of readers .

Narcoossee's Restaurant

Yachtsman steakhouse.

There are a lot of options for steak in Disney World, and according to you, the one you can’t miss is Yachtsman Steakhouse .

tourist dining table

Bedecked like a bougie ship, this nautically inspired steakhouse inside Disney’s Yacht Club Resort brings the wow factor with an 8.98 rating and 93% recommendation average .

Yachtsman Steakhouse Restaurant

Ale and compass.

Evidently, Yacht Club is a smash-hit with restaurants, because another nautically themed sensation with sky-high ratings is Ale and Compass .

tourist dining table

Between its breakfast buffet and New England-style comfort food (like Seafood Pot Pie), there’s much to love here, hence its amazing 9.07 rating and 93% recommendation .

Ale and Compass Restaurant Restaurant

Nomad lounge.

Impressively, the casual lounge offshoot of Tiffins performs even higher than Tiffins itself ! We’ve long raved about Nomad Lounge in Animal Kingdom, so it’s good to see it get the adoration it deserves.

tourist dining table

Operating as a more casual, pared-down version of Tiffins (with much of the same favorite menu items, like bread service), the riverside lounge clocks in with a 9.16 rating and a near-perfect 95% recommendation .

Nomad Lounge Restaurant

Sebastian’s bistro.

We’re almost at the end of the list, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t still time for last-minute surprises. Case in point: Sebastian’s Bistro coming in hot with some of the best reader reviews of any restaurant in Disney World .

tourist dining table

With its colorful Latin theming, family-style eats, and Caribbean flavors, this restaurant in Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort astounds with a 9.20 rating and 100% recommendation score .

Sebastian's Bistro Restaurant

Dahlia lounge.

Time for number one, y’all ! Of all the worthy restaurants in Disney World (The Hollywood Brown Derby, Tiffins, California Grill, ‘Ohana…), we gotta say we’re pleasantly surprised to see Dahlia Lounge soar to the top spot !

tourist dining table

With decor inspired by Spanish Surrealism, and a menu of elegant Spanish-inspired flavors (not to mention sweeping views from atop Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort’s Gran Destino Tower), it’s easy to see why Dahlia Lounge took the crown with its 9.67 rating and 100% recommendation .

Dahlia Lounge Restaurant

tourist dining table

Well, there you have it folks! There are a ton of restaurants in Disney World, and while sexy steakhouses and Italian food may not be your favorites , there’s still lots to love and rave about. In particular,  our readers seem to love African-themed lounges and Spanish Surrealism with a view !

6 Replies to “Ranking ALL the Table Service Restaurants at Walt Disney World”

What is your prognosis for the reopening of Victoria and Alberts?

We stopped doing the Disney table service restaurants over 15 years ago. Way overpriced for chain restaurant food (World showcase locations are operated by outside chains). We only do QS for lunch and then back to condo for dinner or we visit a locally owned restaurant. Saves $$$ and not crowded with fellow tourists. We don’r even do table service back home. Waste of $$$

I don’t believe that Sebastians was deserving of #2 considering all establishments listed. It was my understanding they were closing Sebastians do lack of interest or staffing. Many of the places listed only performed well due to atmosphere.

You forgot Mama Melrose in DHS. We had a great meal there.

Sure glad i don’t listen to people’s opinions about food. So many good restaurants are listed as the worst, LOL. Oh well, have a good day.

So many of these restaurants have entirely new menus or dining styles now. I know it would stink to have to invalidate a bunch of these old reviews and rating but I don’t really see any other way.

Disney World's 10 Best Table-Service Restaurants

tourist dining table

Are you hungry for some info about where to eat at  Walt Disney World ? We'll feed your curiosity and reward you with some great suggestions.

This is a rundown of the 10 best table-service restaurants (plus one honorable mention) inside the four theme parks and at the resort's hotels. It does include the BoardWalk district behind Epcot (which, technically, is part of the the BoardWalk Inn), but does not include the many restaurants at Disney Springs (the dining, retail, and entertainment area formerly known as Downtown Disney). Fear not, however; we've created a separate list of the best places to eat at the gargantuan Disney Springs .

By "table service," we mean restaurants at which guests are seated at a table and served by a waitperson. Buffet-service restaurants (and there are some great ones) are not included on the list. For the resort's table-service restaurants in general, and especially for the more popular eateries listed here,  Disney World dining reservations  are highly recommended.

You may be surprised to learn about the extraordinary dining experiences available at Disney World. It's certainly possible to find burgers, pizza, popcorn, and more pedestrian fare throughout the parks. But, there is a diverse array of restaurants catering to virtually every price point and palate—including some highly sophisticated options.

With the expert help of Lyn Dowling—a long-time reporter who has covered Walt Disney World and a restaurant reviewer for Florida Today—we narrowed down the resort's huge collection of table-service restaurants to the 10 top choices listed here.

If you are seeking a lighter meal and/or a lower bill, Disney World has some great quick-service restaurants . If you want to meet Mickey Mouse or other friends during your meal,  Disney World has many character dining opportunities . Since you're on vacation, and diets typically get tossed aside, you'll want to save room for the resort's delicious snacks and desserts .

Victoria and Albert's: Disney's Grand Floridian Resort

How exclusive is Victoria and Albert's? Children under ten are not permitted in the dining room. Need we remind you that this unusual restriction is being imposed at, of all places, Disney World? There's a reason why the fine dining restaurant racks up award after award and generates ecstatic reviews. The food is remarkable, the décor is swanky (abetted by a harpist for an extra-special touch), and the service is impeccable.

Dishes on the constantly changing menu might include exotic fare, such as octopus " a la Plancha " with black garlic aioli or Colorado bison with caraway seed vinaigrette. For an even more exclusive experience, guests can book an intimate dinner at the Chef's Table and take a culinary journey through as many as 13 courses with the restaurant's chef de cuisine.

Of course, the extraordinary restaurant comes with extraordinarily high prices. However, it is worth it to splurge on Victoria and Albert's, especially if you would be celebrating a special occasion during your Disney World visit.

  • Cost: Very High (Over $60 per adult)
  • Attire: Men must wear dinner jackets with dress pants or slacks and shoes. Ties are optional. Women may wear a cocktail dress, nice dress, dressy pant suit or a skirt with a blouse.
  • Food: Continental cuisine

Monsieur Paul: World Showcase at Epcot

Replacing Bistro de Paris, the second-floor restaurant in the France pavilion at Epcot maintains more or less the same elegant atmosphere as its predecessor while improving on the food.

The snapper with fennel is excellent and, like many of the dishes at Monsieur Paul, is distinctly flavored without being too heavy (as is the wont of some French chefs). The truffle soup, with its earthy umami taste of mushrooms, is a highlight among the appetizers. The baguettes served with dinner are perhaps the best bread in the entire resort. The desserts, such as La Sphere, a chocolate orb served with chocolate almond cake, praline and chocolate cream, and candied oranges ice cream, are also heavenly.

Tip: Save room for the exquisite after-dinner  La Captive  pear brandy. And be sure to ask the waitstaff how the pear-in-a-bottle liqueur is crafted.

  • Cost: High ($35 to $60 per adult)
  • Attire: Resort casual
  • Food: Classic French

Flying Fish: Disney's BoardWalk (Epcot)

As you might expect, the dishes at the Flying Fish focus on seafood, Instead of old-school, cracker-crumb-crusted fish, the creative and seasonal entrees, which are prepared in the restaurant's open kitchen, might include accompaniments such as heirloom radish, leek fondue, and roasted fennel.

Despite the restaurant's name, the menu has plenty of non-seafood choices as well, including filet mignon, a tomahawk ribeye, and buttermilk-marinated chicken. The wine menu is especially extensive and can be paired with the eatery's menu of artisanal cheeses as well as with the main dishes.

Adjacent to the Flying Fish is one of Disney World's coolest places to grab a drink, AbracadaBar. Its backstory is that the retro seaside boardwalk lounge was once the hangout of vaudeville-era magicians. Fanciful drinks include The Conjurita and the Magic Hattan.

  • Cost: High ($35 to $60 per adult)
  • Attire: Resort casual
  • Food: Seafood with an adventurous flair

California Grill: Disney's Contemporary Resort

It's somewhat ironic, yet fitting, that California Grill is included among the best restaurants at Walt Disney World: ironic, in the sense that it's a restaurant in Florida that celebrates California cuisine; fitting in that Walt Disney World takes its inspiration from California's Disneyland .

Consider starting your meal with mouth-watering pizzas. Baked in a brick oven, they feature toppings such as house-made pepperoni. Sushi is also available as an appetizer. Entrees range from jumbo sea scallop to pork tenderloin to oak-fired filet of beef. The wine list features California varieties.

Located atop Disney's Contemporary Resort, the California Grill offers spectacular views. Plan your meal so that you could enjoy after-dinner drinks on the restaurant's outside balcony and watch the Magic Kingdom's nightly fireworks display. The synchronized soundtrack is piped into the balcony's speakers.

  • Cost: High ($35 to $60)
  • Food: California fusion

Cítricos: Disney's Grand Floridian Resort

The inspired Mediterranean-ish fare makes Cítricos a favorite dining spot. Located next to Victoria and Albert's, the atmosphere at the colorful, lively restaurant is decidedly less formal (and the menu is less pricey). But the attention to the food, presentation, and other details is no less remarkable. (In fact, the chef that presides over the kitchen previously ran Victoria and Albert's.)

Among Cítricos' signature dishes is beef short ribs braised in red wine and served with polenta. Plant lovers would enjoy the quinoa and Provençale ratatouille, which comes with tomato confit and a chickpea sauce. Appetizers include crisp arancini enhanced with smoked tomatoes, and pork belly served with a chermoula sauce.

The decor is light and airy and meshes well with the restaurant's open-kitchen design.

  • Food: Eclectic fare with Mediterranean hints

Jiko - The Cooking Place: Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge

Probably the most exotic (and among the most expensive) fare to be found on the Walt Disney World resort is at Jiko – The Cooking Place. It takes its inspiration from Africa. Drawing from the enormous continent, the menu reflects lots of variety.

Depending on the season, choices might include seared maize pudding with chakalaka (a spicy South African relish), Swahili curry shrimp with coconut rice, or seared ostrich fillet with spiced chickpeas. This is about as far removed from a theme park cheeseburger as you could get. And it's all delicious.

Be sure to peruse Jiko's overwhelming selection of South African wines. Also consider the specialty teas menu, which features African blends. They provide a great after-dinner interlude before exploring the animals grazing on the Animal Kingdom Lodge's savannah.

  • Food: African cuisine

Toledo: Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort

Steven Diaz, Disney

Opened in 2019 along with the Gran Destino Tower at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort, Toledo features Spanish-inspired tapas, steak, and seafood. With tantalizing dishes such as the Chuletón, a 28-ounce bone-in rib-eye for two, and scallops served with fava hummus, olives, harissa vinaigrette, roasted carrots, and yogurt powder, the restaurant quickly vaulted to prominence at Disney World.

The food is complemented by the rooftop dining room’s stunning views. Named for a Spanish city, Toledo’s lovely vintage ambience recalls the artists and writers that flocked there in the 1920s and 1930s.

Go for classic Spanish sides such as blistered shishito peppers and bravas potatoes. If you have room after devouring the rib-eye, you might want to try the Toledo Tapas Bar, a progressive dessert tasting.

  • Food: Spanish cuisine

Le Cellier Steakhouse: World Showcase at Epcot

One of Disney World’s most popular restaurants, you’ll want to make reservations as soon as possible if you hope to score a table during your visit to the resort. The food is hearty and ample and includes signature dishes such as filet mignon served with mushroom risotto, asparagus-tomato relish, and truffle-butter sauce.

Themed as a wine cellar, Le Cellier can be an especially welcome and cool getaway from Florida’s sometimes brutal heat and humidity. The theme may also encourage diners to consider imbibing in Canadian wines, which are available by the glass as well as the bottle.

Canadian Cheddar Cheese Soup, which includes beer and bacon (two of the nation’s favorite pastimes) is a favorite appetizer. And for after the meal, consider trying Maple Crème Brûlée.

  • Food: Canadian cuisine

Sanaa: Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas, Kidani Village

The decor at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge may be African-inspired, but the menu at Sanaa draws as heavily from Indian influences as from African. The hybrid menu melds the cuisines into a wonderful mishmash that might pair naan bread service as an appetizer with an African-inspired Biryani rice dish for the entree.

A lighter menu is available for lunch with dishes such as tandoori shrimp served on naan bread, a pulled pork sandwich served with Kenya coffee barbecue sauce, and a South African sausage sandwich. Sanaa is also open for breakfast and offers items such as eggs topped with tomato chutney.

The ambiance at the restaurant is funky chic. Large windows overlooking a savannah populated by zebras, giraffes, and other animals offer spectacular views.

  • Cost: Moderate ($15 to $35 per adult)
  • Attire: Casual
  • Food: African and Indian cuisine

Tiffins: Disney's Animal Kingdom

One of the most extraordinary restaurant experiences inside a theme park (and outside of one, for that matter) is available at Tiffins. The diverse and adventurous menu includes African, Asian, and South American influences.

Appetizers include grilled octopus, which is charred to perfection and served with squid ink aioli. For entrees, Ethiopian coffee butter-infused venison loin is among the dishes to die for. It is served on a plate that is partly jet-black because it is covered in tasty leek ash.

The dining rooms and common areas at Tiffins are decorated with fascinating sketch books, artifacts, and indigenous art gathered by the Imagineers that developed Animal Kingdom during their research expeditions.

The adjacent Nomad Lounge offers a small plate menu that includes hints of Tiffins' main courses. It also has an impressive selection of wine, beer, and specialty cocktails rooted in Africa, Asia, and South America. Tiffins diners can order the same drinks to accompany their meals.

  • Cost: High ($35 to $60 per adult)
  • Attire: You are free to wear theme park clothing. Since it is a fine dining restaurant, however, you may want to get dressed up.
  • Food: African, Asian, and Latin cuisine

Honorable Mention: Be Our Guest Restaurant: New Fantasyland in the Magic Kingdom

It's important to note that the table-service dinner at Be Our Guest is quite different from the restaurant's casual-service breakfast and lunch (although the early-day meals are noteworthy in their own right). The menu is entirely different, and the space transitions from one in which diners order at the counter to elegant waitstaff service.

The French-inspired dishes, including Marseilles-style mussels and layered ratatouille on quinoa, are scrumptious, but the real allure of the restaurant is its stunning atmosphere. This is a theme park restaurant with a striking, whimsical, and well-crafted theme. Patrons are transported to the Grand Ballroom from the film,  Beauty and the Beast , where it is perpetually nighttime, and "snow" is always falling amid the moonlit mountains outside the floor-to-ceiling picture windows.

You can order The "Grey Stuff" (which is among the whimsical lyrics in the movie's popular song, "Be Our Guest") for dessert. You can also order beer or wine, which at the time that the restaurant opened was a first for the Magic Kingdom. The no-alcohol policy has since been relaxed and adult drinks are available at a few other restaurants in the park.

  • Cost: Moderate ($15 to $35 per adult)
  • Attire: Anything goes at this theme park restaurant, but you may want to consider wearing fineries fit for a royal ball
  • Food: French-inspired fare

The Best Table Service Restaurants to Maximize the Disney Dining Plan

by Jenn Marrazzo | Jun 8, 2023 | Walt Disney World Food , WDW Blog

disney dining plans 2024

Wondering what the best restaurants are to maximize your Disney Dining Plan credits? We’re sharing a few of our top picks for table service restaurants.

A Walt Disney World, fan-favorite vacation addition, is returning in 2024 — the Disney Dining Plan . Starting with arrivals on January 9th, 2024, guests can utilize the Disney Dining plan to help them save money and plan accordingly during their visit to Walt Disney World.

Let’s face it; it’s been a minute since the Disney Dining Plan has been available to guests…almost 3 1/2 years, to be exact. But, if you have the Disney Dining Plan, you might wonder what some of the best restaurants are to utilize the new plan. We’re breaking down a few of the best table service restaurants to get the most from the Disney Dining Plan.

[metaslider id=”96331″]

The Disney Dining Plan has two options: the standard Disney Dining Plan and the Quick Service Dining Plan. For this article, we will be focusing on the standard Dining Plan, which offers the following:

  • 1 Quick Service Meal Per Night of Stay
  • 1 Table Service Meal Per Night of Stay
  • 1 Snack or Nonalcoholic Beverage Per Night of Stay
  • 1 Resort Refillable Mug

The standard Disney Dining Plan costs $89/per adult per night and $28/per child per night. You can read more about the specifics of everything included here .

Best Restaurants to Maximize Disney Dining Plan

Based on the standard Disney Dining Plan, we’re sharing the best restaurants that will help you get the most bang for your buck when it comes to table service restaurants. These are the restaurants that will give you the best value for the money you’re spending on the Disney Dining Plan.

Character Meals

If you’ve visited Disney’s Contemporary Resort, you’ll know it is home to some amazing dining options. Whether you are in the mood for a steak, something quick, or even a drink by the pool, there are options for you.

One of the most popular (and most expensive) options is Chef Mickey’s, located in the main building of Disney’s Contemporary Resort. Chef Mickey’s is known for being super fun, but also quite expensive. Now, you might be wondering why we’re suggesting a more expensive restaurant. Well, that’s a great way to maximize your plan and see Mickey and Minnie, of course! The more expensive the restaurant, the more economical it becomes for you when using the Disney Dining Plan.

For dinner, Chef Mickey’s comes in at $62 per adult for a buffet dinner. Since this is a buffet, your dinner and desserts are included. You are also entitled to a beverage, either non-alcoholic or alcoholic. Prior to the pandemic, drink limits were around $15 per alcoholic beverage, which means between your meal and drink, you’re looking at $77 for your meal. That means you’ll only need to spend $12 more that day to make up the money you paid for your Dining Plan. You can definitely spend more than $12 for snacks and quick service meals, so this restaurant is a great choice!

Garden Grill Lunch or Dinner (EPCOT)

garden grill

EPCOT is home to some of the most amazing dining options available in Disney World . Whether you want to dine under the sea ,   take a mission to space , or explore the World , there are options for you.

You can find our next pick tucked away in the popular Land Pavilion in the newly named World Nature section. Garden Grill Restaurant is another character meal but is not a buffet, but instead family-style dining. At Garden Grill, you’ll dine with Mickey, Chip, Dale, and all the pals while revolving around Living with the Land.

For lunch and dinner, Garden Grill comes in at $55 per adult for the all-you-care-to-enjoy meal. Again, appetizers, dinner, and dessert are included in the price of your meal. Like Chef Mickey’s, you are entitled to either a non-alcoholic or alcoholic beverage, usually up to $15. If you decide to dine here, you’ll spend about $70 per adult for the meal. Therefore, you’ll have around $19 to spend for the rest of the day to make up your Disney Dining Plan. That $19 is pretty easy to spend at WDW between snacks and quick service meals.

Akershus Royal Banquet Hall (EPCOT)

As we said before, EPCOT is a great place to enjoy a delicious meal to end your day. But, have you ever thought of starting your day in EPCOT? A little hack for dining at Akershus Royal Banquet Hall for breakfast is that it actually only uses one table service credit on the Disney Dining Plan. Dinner uses two table service credits, so why not enjoy some delicious breakfast, get to experience Akershus, and get to see your favorite princesses at the same time?

Breakfast at Akershus comes in at $53 per adult for a family-style breakfast. You’ll get to enjoy unique breakfast options like Norwegian waffles, plus you can still enjoy that non-alcoholic or alcoholic beverage with breakfast. If you get breakfast and a beverage, you’re looking at around $68 for your total meal. That leaves you with $21 you’ll need to spend to get the most out of your plan for the day. We definitely think you can do it!

Non-Character Dining

‘ohana (disney’s polynesian village resort).

Sign of Ohana at Disney's Polynesian Resort

Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort is the epitome of island vibes . Thanks to the decor and dining, the Polynesian celebrates South Pacific cuisine. Located on the 2nd floor of the Great Ceremonial House lies ‘Ohana. This all-you-care-to-enjoy restaurant is just as famous for its ‘Ohana noodles as it is for its reservation reputation.

It’s been dubbed one of the hardest reservations to snag in Disney World, and for a good reason. Between the food, atmosphere, and those fireworks views, it’s a fantastic place to dine — and a great one to use your Disney Dining Plan credits at.

‘Ohana is $59 for dinner and includes courses of salads, breads, wings, dumplings, and dessert. As you can tell, this is a restaurant worth the value. Plus add on the price of a drink, and you’re looking at a meal that could cost around $74 per adult. That would mean you’d need to spend around $15 more for the day on QS and snacks to get your money’s worth. If you are looking for value without characters, this is the place to visit for dinner.

Boma (Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge Jambo House)

interior_boma-flavors-of-africa-review_sapp

A look inside Boma. Photo by Laurie Sapp

Take in a safari and enjoy unique cuisine while visiting Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge. This off-the-beaten-path resort shocks guests with all there is to explore at the resort. But it also features another one of our picks for maximizing your plan.

Boma Flavors of Africa , is tucked away on the lower level of Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge. This buffet is known for having some unique dishes that both picky and adventurous eaters will enjoy. Plus, they are also known for having those famous Zebra Domes that are so popular.

But what about being a good value on the Disney Dining Plan? Boma comes in at around $54 per adult for the full buffet, including dessert. With any alcoholic drink, you’re looking at around $69 for your full meal. That means you’ll have to spend about $20 more daily to make up the money you spent with your plan.

Ranking the Table-Service Restaurants We’ve Eaten At – Disneyland Resort

Today we continue our series of posts, ranking all of the Disney restaurants we’ve eaten at. I’ll turn my attention to table-service restaurants at Disneyland for this post. If you missed our Disneyland counter-service rankings, click here .

tourist dining table

These rankings include any restaurant we’ve eaten at in Disneyland, California Adventure, Downtown Disney and the hotels. If you’re familiar with the parks at all then you likely know that there are far more table-service restaurants at Disney World than Disneyland so we don’t have nearly as many restaurants ranked here as the Disney World version of this post .

Before we jump into the rankings, there are a few caveats  First of all, as the title tries to state, this post only includes restaurants we’ve eaten at. If one that you love isn’t on the list then please drop us a note in the comments and we’ll be sure to try it on the next trip.

tourist dining table

I will try to balance all of the restaurant factors – value, quality of food, atmosphere, etc. To be honest, I rely heavily on the quality of food as opposed to other factors because table-service restaurants tend to have a similar price range. On that same note, I will include signature and regular table-service restaurants into this post. Let’s get to the rankings!

14. River Belle Terrace (Disneyland)

The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere if you sit out on the patio and watch the Mark Twain River Boat pass by. Unfortunately, the food and the inside of the restaurant doesn’t live up to those lovely settings. Serving American food, the restaurant felt a little bit hit and miss with their items. That said, there do seem to be some promising options and I think you could do worse than this restaurant. The desserts are pretty good!

Storytellers front

13. Goofy’s Kitchen

Character meet & greets are in short supply at Disneyland Resort. One of the most popular options is Goofy’s Kitchen at the Disneyland Hotel. Most of the characters meeting guests are a part of the Fab Five, as the restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. For families, this is a pretty good spot as the food is somewhat interesting for being a character buffet while the atmosphere is festive. For those without young kids, I’d probably pass on this spot as it’s very loud and the food is not good enough to compete with the rest of the spots on this list.

12. Splitsville Luxury Lanes

A table-service restaurant that’s also a bowling alley? A bowling alley that serves, and maybe even specializes in sushi? There’s also pizza on the menu? What is this? Well, to be honest, I’m not sure. The restaurant is doing a bit too much but the food is decent really. I don’t think any of the different options are amazing but they are a step above the chain restaurants that serve an eclectic menu. Splitsville is also the best spot in Disneyland Resort to watch a game, if that’s your thing. I’ve held off on a full review here because other restaurants are far more popular but if you are interested then leave a comment below and I’ll get to this one.

11. Storyteller’s Cafe (Grand Californian Hotel)

We’ve done the buffet dinner at Storyteller’s and came away perfectly whelmed. It wasn’t great, it wasn’t bad, it was just right down the middle. The restaurant is quite beautiful with intricate murals and a somewhat rustic look. This is a great place to escape the hubbub of the parks and relax for a while. As with most Disney buffets, this is overpriced and there’s no marquee item. Storyteller’s is an enjoyable meal but not one I’ll be rushing back to.

10. Naples Ristorante e Bar (Downtown Disney)

This pizza and pasta restaurant has good food at decent prices, at least as far as Disney restaurants go. The design of Naples is fairly modern, with large windows filling the restaurant with natural light. There’s also a large outdoor seating area with a large bar nearby. If Italian sounds good then you could certainly do worse than Naples, the reason it ranks fairly low is due to nothing really standing out about the restaurant. It’s solid but misses out on being something more.

9. Wine Country Trattoria

The restaurant has a beautiful location, nestled between Cars Land and the pier. The food doesn’t quite live up to the scenery but there is some value and dependability here; it’s a safe choice. Wine Country Trattoria mainly focuses on Italian cuisine. Some dishes we’ve had are bland while others were pretty tasty. It is one of the easiest walk up reservations to secure in the Disneyland app and a good table-service spot to go to on a whim.

Calimari Wine Country Trattoria DCA

8. Ralph Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen (Downtown Disney)

This New Orleans inspired restaurant’s quality of food is easily the best of anywhere we’ve discussed so far on this list and the best in Downtown Disney. With different Cajun options on the menu, the restaurant has some delicious food and a decent atmosphere, although that’s taken a hit with the remodel. This ends up eighth on the list due to the top seven offering something more unique. The Jazz Kitchen is good but I’m not sure it’s anything different from what you can find out in the ‘real world’.

7. GCH Craftsman Bar (Grand Californian Hotel)

Surprisingly, this restaurant serves the exact same menu as the next door counter-service restaurant – GCH Craftsman Grill . On the bright side, that is my favorite counter-service restaurant at Disneyland Resort because the food is a level up. But serving the exact same thing is a little disappointing. The atmosphere is relaxing, sitting next to the Grand Californian pool and often having live music playing. You could certainly do worse than this spot, I’m just not sure it’s worth dedicating the time, getting a reservation and adding the cost of a tip when you can have the exact same food at the counter-service spot next door.

6. Carnation Cafe (Disneyland)

One of the most charming restaurants in any theme park, don’t let Carnation Café placing in the bottom half of the rankings fool you, this restaurant is quite good. The atmosphere is beautiful, especially if you’re able to sit outside on Main Street in all of its splendor. Carnation Café also offers the best value of any table-service restaurant regardless of whether it’s breakfast , lunch or dinner. Now, the food isn’t quite as upscale or inventive as most of the other places on the list and that’s why it places below the others. With options that are cheaper than a lot of counter-service restaurants, this is a perfect place to go for a great value!

Carnation Cafe scramble DL

5. Café Orleans (Disneyland)

Cafe Orleans thrives due to its location, recognizable items, and value. Sitting outside at Café Orleans as the sun starts to set is a quintessential Disneyland moment. The Prommes Frites and Mickey Beignets are some of my favorite items to eat at Disneyland but have mysteriously been missing from the menu since the resort reopened. If they return, the restaurant could move up the rankings. While I find it a bit rich, the Monte Cristo is another fan favorite. On top of that, the value is certainly there at Café Orleans. Entrees are typically around $20 and some of the food is the same as what’s served at Blue Bayou. The one drawback of Café Orleans is that the entrée selection isn’t all that interesting or diverse. Still, the setting, value and famous menu items earn this high marks.

4. Blue Bayou Restaurant (Disneyland)

I’ll get this out-of-the-way, if this was a ranking of what restaurants Disneyland first-timers should go to then Blue Bayou would be in the top 3. That’s not what this post is though. Blue Bayou does one thing extraordinarily well and that’s offer the best atmosphere of any restaurant at Disneyland and Walt Disney World. Eating inside of Pirates of the Caribbean is undoubtedly special and a Disney fan rite of passage. The food doesn’t quite measure up to the incredible atmosphere though and the price makes Blue Bayou a harder sell than it otherwise would be. I like the other upscale restaurants at Disneyland Resort a bit more but Blue Bayou is an excellent place for a meal, nonetheless.

Chicken jambalaya Blue Bayou DL

3. Lamplight Lounge (California Adventure)

Lamplight Lounge continues to ascend on this list. The Lobster Nachos are right up there with the single best items I’ve had at Disneyland and the Potato Skins and Salmon PLT aren’t far behind. Lamplight Lounge has a nice atmosphere, giving guests their fill of Pixar memorabilia. The real star of the atmosphere is sitting alongside the water and staring out across the rest of the park. It’s a gorgeous setting with fantastic food.

Lobster Nachos Lamplight Lounge DCA

2. Carthay Circle Restaurant (California Adventure)

Another gorgeous restaurant and special atmosphere with somewhat overpriced food. Carthay Circle rests inside of California Adventure’s park icon and the inside (and outside) of the faux-theatre are beautiful. The restaurant has lovely paintings on the ceiling and extravagant chandeliers. The food was very good and the menu a mix of California and American inspired food. While guests pay a pretty penny for this restaurant, it is slightly cheaper than Blue Bayou and a wonderful, delicious and elegant experience.

1. Napa Rose (Grand Californian Hotel)

This isn’t much of a contest, Napa Rose is the best restaurant at Disneyland Resort. I’ll get the two negatives out-of-the-way. One, our first experience was one of the best meals I’ve ever had but the second experience wasn’t as good. Two, this is a very expensive place to eat. Entrees run between $40-$60. With that out-of-the-way, Napa Rose is one of my favorite restaurants in the world. The inside matches that of the beautiful Grand Californian and is bolstered by natural light through large windows. The menu is always interesting and diverse, featuring steak and fish among other options. Desserts are fantastic, as well. To this day, my first meal at Napa Rose is likely my favorite I’ve ever had. As the most upscale restaurant at Disneyland, I’d recommend this to anyone who’s looking for a nicer night out while on vacation or to anyone who just likes really good food.

Napa Rose Filet Mignon

Those are my rankings of Disneyland table-service meals. I’m looking forward to adding to the list over the years. What would you add or change? Let us know in the comments! The Ultimate Guide to the 2024 Disney Dining Plan

by David Mumpower · June 5, 2023

Disney World dining little ones

A favorite add-on has finally returned at Walt Disney World after a four-year absence!

Yes, you can now purchase the Disney Dining Plan for 2024 vacations! Here’s a guide to help you understand how this dining plan works.

What Is the Disney Dining Plan?

question mark

Photo: Playbuzz.com

Did you ever have a meal plan in school or at least know someone who used one? Someone would pay a set fee in exchange for daily meals in the cafeteria.

The premise works similarly during a Disney vacation. For a set daily price, you’ll purchase an allotment of meal credits.

During 2024, a dining plan purchase provides you with two meal plan entitlements per day.

tourist dining table

Disney will accept these meal credits in lieu of money at more than 100 restaurants, including some of the most popular places.

You choose the meal you want. Then, when it’s time to pay, you use an entitlement rather than a credit card/cash.

What Are the Dining Plan Options?

tourist dining table

Photo: Disney

In previous years, Disney offered several variations of the Disney Dining Plan. For 2024, Disney has reduced the plan to its basics.

You’ll enjoy your choice of two dining plan options, the Disney Dining Plan and the Quick-Service Dining Plan.

Disney free dining

With the Disney Dining Plan , you receive the following:

  • 1 Quick-Service meal per person per night
  • 1 Table Service meal per person per night
  • 1 Snack per person per night
  • 1 Resort Refillable Mug per person per stay

Should you choose the Quick-Service Dining Plan instead, you’ll receive the following:

  • 2 Quick-Service meals per person per night

Disney Dining Plans Return

So, the primary difference is that the Disney Dining Plan entitles you to a Table Service meal each day.

With the Quick-Service Dining Plan, you’ll eat exclusively at Quick-Service restaurants.

What’s the Difference between Quick-Service and Table Service?

tourist dining table

Disney has divided its 100+ restaurants into two primary tiers.

You can think of Quick-Service restaurants as something akin to fast food or fast-casual meals.

In most instances, you’ll eat an over-the-counter meal, but it’ll be more upscale than anything you’d find at McDonald’s or Chick-fil-A.

cinnamon roll

Photo: Disneydining.com

We’re talking about something between Five Guys and O’Charley’s.

Table Service restaurants are more upscale in nature in terms of cuisine and/or dining experience.

For instance, several Disney character meals like The Crystal Palace qualify for Table Service entitlements.

Dining plan 2024

In other instances, you’re picking the restaurant for the menu.

Disney legitimately hires Top Chef and Iron Chef contestants/winners/judges to run some of its kitchens.

Services like TripAdvisor frequently grade Walt Disney World restaurants among the top overall dining options in Central Florida.

tourist dining table

Generally speaking, you pay quite a bit more for these meals, but they justify the cost.

However, you sidestep the issue by using the Disney Dining Plan. Once per day, you exchange your allotment for a Table Service meal.

tourist dining table

Of course, the grab-and-go convenience of Quick-Service restaurants makes them the preferred choice of many tourists.

You cannot go wrong with either option.

tourist dining table

Simply decide whether you want to spend part of your Disney vacation sitting down for relaxing but lengthy meals.

I’ve listed a few highly regarded Quick-Service and Table Service restaurants here .

What Is the Price of the Disney Dining Plan?

Photo: Wikimedia

For 2024, the Disney Dining Plan charges $94.28 plus tax per person per day during your visit.

Disney will bill you $29.69 plus tax per person per day for children aged three to nine.

Meanwhile, the Quick-Service Dining Plan costs $57.01 plus tax per person per day for anyone over the age of nine.

Dollars

The charge for children aged three to nine is $23.83 plus tax per kid per day. So, the price is similar for kids under both plans.

However, adults pay $27.27 more (plus tax) to gain the daily Table Service entitlement.

So, you can do the math to determine how much you’ll save by purchasing one of these dining plans during your trip.

Disney dollars

The other thing to remember about Table Service restaurants is that you’ll still need to tip your server.

Dining plan entitlements don’t cover the tip, which is an expense to remember during your trip.

What Are the Rules for the Disney Dining Plan?

Disney Dining Plan

Obviously, Disney enforces some rules about the Disney Dining Plan.

For example, everyone in your hotel room aged three and up must buy a dining plan.

Children aged three to nine receive a significant discount, though.

Free Dining Plan

Let’s say that you’re a family with two adults, one eight-year-old, and one two-year-old.

You must purchase two adult dining plans and one children’s dining plan per day.

In exchange, Disney will add six daily meal credits to your dining plan account.

Disney Dining Plan

If you stayed for five nights, you’d receive 30 total entitlements (six credits daily for five nights).

The other thing to know is that Disney requires two Table Service entitlements at a handful of restaurants.

Generally, Disney refers to these options as Signature Dining Experiences, which makes them the most expensive meals at Walt Disney World.

tourist dining table

However, some of them like Akershus are Table Service restaurants that charge two entitlements because they’re high-priced character meals.

Here is our discussion on the restaurants that require two entitlements.

When Does the Disney Dining Plan Go on Sale?

tourist dining table

On May 31 st , 2023, Disney opened dining plan sales for 2024 vacations .

You can now book the dining plan for any Walt Disney World vacation with arrival on or after January 9 th , 2024.

What’s the Process for Using the Disney Dining Plan?

tourist dining table

Once you pay for the Disney Dining Plan, the process for using entitlements is fairly simple.

Disney will add the appropriate number of entitlements to your account.

Let’s presume that you’re traveling alone in February 2024. Your stay will last five nights and six days.

tourist dining table

By purchasing the Disney Dining Plan, you’ll receive five Table Service entitlements plus five Quick-Service entitlements.

You may use these meal credits as you see fit. Disney provides tremendous flexibility with this program.

desserts

Photo: Disney Parks Blog

For example, you could spend all your entitlements well before your trip ends.

Once Disney loads the meal plans on your account, you can use them starting on your arrival day.

Let’s say that you meet a friend for dinner and want to purchase their meal.

tourist dining table

You can use one of your entitlements for your meal and another for theirs. I’ve done this on many occasions.

Similarly, let’s say you prefer to eat at two Quick-Service restaurants on your first day. You won’t lose your Table Service entitlement for that day!

Instead, after your first day, you’ll have three Quick-Service entitlements and five Table Service entitlements remaining.

tourist dining table

In other words, once you have the ten entitlements in your account, you can use them as needed.

Some vacationers mistakenly believe that you must use exactly one Quick-Service and one Table Service entitlement per day. That’s not correct.

Tony’s Townsquare Restaurant

As for payment, you’ll inform the server that you’re using the Disney Dining Plan. They’ll explain the steps from there.

Of course, there’s also an easier way now…

Can I Use Mobile Ordering with the Disney Dining Plan?

tourist dining table

For 2024, you can use My Disney Experience to order food. In fact, you’ll have a new option next year.

For the first time ever, you can use Mobile Ordering for Table Service To Go.

mobile ordering

This option allows you to order a full meal from a Table Service restaurant and pay using your dining plan entitlements.

Disney only introduced Table Service to Go a couple of years ago . So, this will be a new process in 2024.

mobile order

As always, you should verify that a restaurant accepts the Disney Dining Plan before you buy.

When you use the Disney Dining Plan with a Mobile Order, you’ll check a box on the payment screen. Voila! Your meal is paid for!

What Happens If I Don’t Use All My Meal Plan Credits?

Hungry Bear Restaurant Disneyland

Technically, the answer is that you’ll lose them.

Your meal plan credits expire at 11:59 p.m. on the night you check out of your hotel room.

Over the years, some guests have had success in exchanging extra dining plan entitlements for snacks.

tourist dining table

In my experience, some cast members did this in the past, but it wasn’t guaranteed. In fact, I’ve been flatly told no before.

Given how Disney has changed the plan in recent years, you shouldn’t count on the kindness of strangers, even those wonderful cast members.

Raglan Road™ Irish Pub and Restaurant

Instead, you should try hard to use all your meal plan credits before you leave Orlando.

If nothing else, buy a meal for a stranger on your way out! Your fellow Disney fans will appreciate the gesture!

What Counts as a Snack?

Peanut Butter & Jelly Ice Cream Cone

Peanut Butter & Jelly Ice Cream Cone

Disney remains fairly liberal with the concept of the Snack.

You can exchange a Snack credit for:

  • Frozen ice cream novelty, popsicle or fruit bar
  • Two scoops of hand-scooped ice cream
  • Popcorn scoop (single-serving box)
  • Piece of whole fruit
  • Single-serve bag of snacks
  • 20-ounce bottle of Coca-Cola® products, including Dasani® water
  • 20-ounce fountain soft drink
  • Single-serve coffee, hot chocolate, hot tea, milk or juice
  • Cup of soup
  • Add on toppings or sauces (e.g. side of cheese dipping sauce)

tourist dining table

You cannot use a Snack credit for:

  • Items that are more than a single serving (such as a box of doughnuts or a jar of peanut butter)
  • Items (such as popcorn or drinks) that are served in a souvenir container
  • Items considered to be merchandise (such as bottle toppers, glow cubes and bottle straps)
  • Special dining events offered at certain Table-Service locations

What’s a Refillable Mug?

Disney100 Tumbler

Disney100 Tumbler

Imagine a delightful Disney-themed 16-ounce insulated cup with a lid.

Now imagine having the ability to refill said cup with your beverage of choice whenever you want during your stay!

That’s the concept for the dining plan Refillable Mug.

refillable mug

Disney installs RFID chips within the mugs.

So, when you visit a beverage station, the system will know that you qualify for a free refill and dispense your beverage.

You’ll love having this mug during your visit. I’ve got an entire kitchen cabinet full of them because they’re too cute to throw away.

Can I Buy the Dining Plan If I’m Not Staying at a Disney Resort?

grand floridian construction update may 27

No, Disney only sells these packages to guests staying at official Disney resorts.

Of course, you should want to stay at an official Disney resort anyway! They’re better!

Spice Road Table: EPCOT’s Best Candlelight Processional Dining Package?

tourist dining table

One of our favorite table service restaurants in EPCOT and one of Walt Disney World’s most underrated eateries literally hiding in plain sight is Spice Road Table. With it offering 2023 Candlelight Processional dining packages , we figured it’d be worth revisiting our most recent meal to offer you an idea of whether Spice Road Table is worth it.

The last time we reviewed Spice Road Table, the restaurant had introduced a menu of more substantial entrees consistent with other table service restaurants at Walt Disney World. When it originally opened in early 2014, it was a Mediterranean small plates or tapas restaurant.

When Walt Disney World resumed ownership of the Morocco pavilion, they reintroduced the Mediterranean small plates concept.  What’s old is new again.  The only real difference was a (slightly) different and more limited menu at Spice Road Table, with the more adventurous options removed.

For Christmas 2023, Walt Disney World is offering Candlelight Processional Dining Package ADRs at Spice Road Table. This began about halfway through Candlelight ‘season’ last year, and we found ample Advance Dining Reservations every single day–with more ADRs often released relatively last-minute.

This is noteworthy because Spice Road Table previously offered same-day Candlelight Processional Dining Packages, but not ADRs. Given that every other table service restaurant sold out of Candlelight Processional Dining Packages within minutes (literally) of release, we’d highly recommend booking Spice Road Table.

tourist dining table

If your dates are already unavailable, be diligent about checking for more ADRs to be released, especially a few days before your dates. As always, see our  Guide to Advance Dining Reservations at Walt Disney World for tips & tricks to increase your chances of success in scoring a 2023 Candlelight Processional Dining Package.

Here’s our review and recommendations for Spice Road Table…

tourist dining table

For our first plate, we ordered the Naan Spreads: Hummus, Chermoula, Marinated Olives, Za’atar.

This is basically a tale of two dishes. Even as I look at the photo now, my mouth is watering. Both the hummus and za’atar were superb, with the hummus being smooth, creamy and rich while the za’atar had an addictively strong savory and piquant quality (I liked it a lot more than Sarah did). The olives were also a nice touch in rounding out the dish.

Unfortunately, the naan tasted like someone went out to Publix or Costco and bought the stuff in bulk. It was dry and one-note, inferior to the stuff we buy from the freezer at Trader Joe’s. The spreads were enough to mask this–and I’d get this again because of that–but it was a bit disappointing that the naan couldn’t stand on its own. This has the potential to rival the bread service at Sanaa, but for now, it falls short.

tourist dining table

Next, the plant-based Pomegranate-Chili Crispy Cauliflower: Red Pepper Aleppo Sauce.

Regrettably, more and more menus at Walt Disney World now have cauliflower in place of chicken or an actual fried food. This means my cauliflower consumption, once confined to the home, has increased at restaurants. In both cases, I don’t have much say in the matter.

While I do not like this trend, I can’t fault this specific dish. It was fantastic. Between the crisp exterior coating and the sauce, a lot is working hard to mask the cauliflower flavor–and quite successfully. I wouldn’t order this voluntarily if dining on my own, but I won’t complain the next time Sarah wants to get it. I guess that qualifies as an endorsement?

tourist dining table

Our final tapas plate was the Spice Road Table Sampler: Lamb Kefta, Spiced Chicken and Tiropitakia. (Pictured above with the hummus–the sampler is only the bottom plate.)

If you’re doing the Candlelight Processional dining package, this is an obvious pick if you want the best bang for your buck. Not only is it the most expensive of the options, but it’s the largest one with the most variety.

tourist dining table

Even under new management, the lamb kefta is exactly as good as it has always been.

This has been a staple of the Morocco pavilion’s various restaurants and food booths for years–including at Spice Road Table. The meat is mouth wateringly delicious, juicy, and flavorful with just a hint of mint to balance out the mild gaminess. This is my favorite thing on the menu.

tourist dining table

I don’t recall spiced chicken previously being on the menu, but this is another strong dish.

It’s not incredibly spicy, but there is a bit of kick here with the ras el hanout spice blend in the sauce soaking into the naan and chicken. Sarah definitely liked this a bit more than I did–she’s a huge fan of butter chicken and tikka masala, and thought this could hold its own against ‘real world’ restaurant versions of those dishes.

tourist dining table

The last of the dishes in the sampler is the Tiropitakia.

Although I love the lamb kefta more than anything else, this is a very close second. The flaky phyllo pastry had just the right amount of doughiness coupled with that cheese-filled center…it was just pure bliss. The cucumber-tomato relish was also fantastic, and could’ve been a nicely refreshing relish to offset the savory pastry, but I preferred to enjoy them separately and let each speak for themselves.

tourist dining table

This cross-section photo doesn’t even begin to the do the Tiropitakia justice.

If it were up to me, I would order this and the lamb kefta as standalone dishes. However, Sarah loved the sampler and found each of them to be worthwhile. (Unsurprisingly, she didn’t love the Tiropitakia as much as I did, so our rankings here would differ.) Bottom line, though, is that everything on the sampler is a standout. It just so happens that I love two of the dishes and “only” really like the other.

tourist dining table

During a previous meal, we had also ordered the Fried Calamari with Rémoulade and Harissa Sauce.

This was one of my two favorite items on the previous menu of Spice Road Table, and it holds up. In fairness, there’s only “good” and “great” calamari in my book, but this definitely skews towards the latter. Hearty portions of flavorful seafood plus a comparatively light amount of batter is a winning combination. Highly recommended.

tourist dining table

We’ve also done the House-made Hummus Fries with Citrus Chipotle and Preserved Lemon sauces many, many times.

This dish is a sore subject for me. These hummus fries debuted at one of the EPCOT festivals about 5 years ago, and were twice the size and half the price. No joke. They were an instant smash success because they taste great and offered great value for money at the time. Even though I still enjoy them–the texture and refreshing zest make the dish a winner–I can’t get over the value now versus then. Without this “burden of knowledge,” I’d probably just order and love the current version.

tourist dining table

To conclude the current meal, we ordered the Dessert Platter consisting of assorted Moroccan pastries.

This selection changes seasonally, or perhaps more frequently. The Karithopita (Greek walnut cake) is the staple, but the other two vary depending at the pastry chef’s whim.

tourist dining table

The Greek walnut cake was absolutely fantastic, a cinnamony and syrupy dense dessert that was sweet but not overpoweringly so. Like so many Moroccan pastries, it offered incredible range and nuance thanks to the spices used. The almond cookie was dry-but-good, and grew on me with each bite. The Kataifi roll was another fantastic dessert, with a similar among of textural and flavor range as the walnut cake (and totally different flavors).

The dessert platter is really good and highly recommended. Even with the only okay cookie, we absolutely loved this and would eagerly order it again just to try a different set of pastries.

All in all, a great ending to a great meal. The tapas we ordered cost us only a little more than dining at a counter service restaurant, and probably were about equal in price to grazing around festival booths in World Showcase–but with everything delivered to our table rather than standing in a bunch of separate lines.

tourist dining table

As for whether Spice Road Table is worth the money as a Candlelight Processional dining package, that really depends upon how much you value your time. Given that all of the Advance Dining Reservations for Candlelight Processional dining packages booked up within minutes of being released, this is really your only option other than Regal Eagle Smokehouse.

If you want the certainty of seats for Candlelight Processional and don’t have any desire to wait in the standby line, doing the Spice Road Table Candlelight Processional dining package could be a good idea. You’ll also likely end up with a better view than via standby, unless you line up well in advance. (If you’re a tourist, your vacation time is too valuable to do that. Camping out in standby is largely a local’s game.)

tourist dining table

While you still might be able to score an ADR for the Candlelight Processional elsewhere, you’ll be reliant on cancellations or more capacity being added; Spice Road Table and Regal Eagle Smokehouse are the only two same-day Candlelight Processional dining package restaurants. Of course, since you can only do these day-of, you can always keep trying for Advance Dining Reservations until the very last minute. (As always, we’d recommend checking ADRs late at night the day before.)

For our part, we were shut out of the Candlelight Processional dining package ADR sweepstakes. I’m still holding out hope for a cancellation, but failing that, we will probably do the same-day dining package–it really depends on how bad lines are for the 8:30 pm performances on weeknights. If we do the same-day package, we’ll choose Spice Road Table over Regal Eagle.

tourist dining table

Just keep in mind that you’re paying a significant premium as compared to the regular menu at Spice Road Table. Honestly, though, the same could be said about literally every restaurant that offers the Candlelight Processional dining package–and the rest sold like hotcakes.

The cost of the Candlelight Processional dining package at Spice Road Table is $52 per person (the photo above is from last year, hence the lower price displayed). That’s for 2 small plates, a non-alcoholic drink, dessert platter, and guaranteed seating. The minimum out of pocket value of the food is $28; the maximum value is $45.

tourist dining table

Ultimately, whether it’s worth it to pay a premium of $7 to $24 per person for the guaranteed Candlelight Processional seating is a personal question. The consensus among Walt Disney World vacation planners is clearly that these packages  are  worth it, but we’d contend that FOMO drives way too much of that.

Our meal at Spice Road Table–for both of us–cost under $50 and we left reasonably full, but not stuff. I could easily see doing a large lunch here and spending $40 per person. That seems like a reasonable amount to spend at Spice Road Table. Our more measured, FOMO-free perspective is that Candlelight Processional dining packages are worth a $10 to $15 per person premium. To each their own on that, though.

What we can conclusively say is that Spice Road Table has good cuisine and is a worthwhile dining option amidst the sea of solid cuisine in World Showcase. It’s not the best restaurant or even as fun as grazing EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays booths, but it’s a nice, relaxing experience on the water with tasty and inventive-but-approachable food. We can’t give a definitive answer as to whether the Candlelight Processional dining package is worth the money , but hopefully we’ve given you the information necessary to draw the conclusion for yourself!

YOUR THOUGHTS

Have you dined at Spice Road Table since Walt Disney World took control and restored the tapas menu? What did you think of the meal? Hey, I’m not sure about other restaurants, but Spice Road just dropped (today, 12/7) a bunch of ADVANCE candlelight dining reservation times. For at least two of the show times. I left this comment on another of the blog entries this morning as well — just checked and, at 4 p.m., there are still reservation times aplenty.

' src=

Thanks for the heads up!

Thank you so much! I was able to book a Spice Road Table ADR for my mom and I to see the Processional on the last night of our trip next week – she has always wanted to go, but has never had the chance until now.

Aww! That makes me so happy. I hope it’s wonderful!

' src=

I’m curious to on how these “same day” reservations work… Any insight would be appreciated!

Outside of a smattering for Coral Reef at lousy times, Candlelight Processional ADRs for a party of 2 have been unavailable. Even at 6:00 am on the 60-day open, none were available for Biergarten, Garden Grill, or Rose & Crown. More frustratingly, that same trio of restaurants have not had even a ‘regular’ ADR for a party of 2 at any time. Smells like a greedy Mouse maximizing revenue per table at the expense of smaller parties.

Yes — I echo Sheila and Cheri’s question. We would actually have preferred either of the same-day options to the ADR Candlelight options, but we weren’t sure what the process was of getting them once we were there, and didn’t want to risk it. I’m not as excited about the Coral Reef, or the price per person for the Coral Reef, but I do count myself fortunate to have gotten an ADR at all. As for calling to get the answer (as Cheri attempted), boy, have I had mixed success with that, no matter the question. It seems like half the folks I talk to are hugely informative, and half might have started the job that week. Not that I blame them. That’s just the state of the world since the pandemic, seems like. Off topic, but even the Disney price hikes for everything seem about on par with price hikes everywhere else. I can’t believe how much fast food is these days, let alone restaurant prices.

Sorry – somehow missed those.

When we did Spice Road Table last year, we simply did Walk-Up Waitlist and were seated almost instantly. I don’t think I’ve ever seen Spice Road Table with more than a ~30 minute wait via that feature. If you notice the photo of the sign was taken at night, and there was still availability for the last seating of the day.

I suspect demand will be higher this year, but I still don’t think it’s a “rope drop Spice Road Table” situation. Most likely, there wouldn’t be anyone there to help you even if you did. If you’re really worried about it, do the first seating at 11:30 am. Even if you opt for a later lunch, I think you should probably be fine.

Hi Tom and Sarah! I really enjoy all your insights…..I do have a quick question that may have an obvious answer, but that raises my curiosity. We were able to lock in Processional Dining Reservations at Rose and Crown and and are looking forward to it….my question is in regards the to the Candlelight Processional…….why is it called a processional if it is in a amphitheater type setting? Does anyone actually “process” throughout the park before or after the performance? It just threw me off a bit as I always thought processional meant a travelling congregation of people, like this would be parade style with candles and song/story or something?? Either way, this will be our family’s first visit to WDW and we are so excited and appreciative of all your useful info while we are planning!! Thanks so much!!

The name is derived from Disneyland, where it begins with a literal procession of candles down Main Street. (See this: https://www.disneytouristblog.com/disneyland-candlelight-processional-info-tips/ )

That actually *does* happen in EPCOT, too, but not to nearly the same effect. It’s still neat, though.

Enjoyed Spice Road Table some years ago when it offered true entrees for dinner. Incredible food and service. Indoor tables by the windows overlooking the lagoon were lovely and so was the A/C. But very few people took advantage of it and rarely busy until fireworks and then most guests just buying a drink or dessert to score a fireworks view on the patio. Even though I preferred entree style, I understand why they reverted back to the old original tapas menu. While happy it’s still open, another one of those ‘why we can’t have nice things’ experiences like lunch and dinner BOG pre-pandemic.

' src=

After losing the Eat to the Beat ADR sweepstakes in late August, we were thrilled to be able to score guaranteed seating and eat at Spice Road, perhaps my favorite EPCOT spot, on a walk-up basis. Enjoyed it so much we did it again for a later show. Thus we tried pretty much everything Tom and Sarah had and can second their experience. And the service was over-the-top wonderful–accommodating some dietary quirks with grace while giving us insight into Moroccan food culture. If only the lamb sliders were still on the menu…

' src=

I am in total agreement with your point about vacation time having value. I am willing to wait in line when I “have” to, but after our first time waiting in stand-by, and worrying that we wouldn’t get a seat (unfounded but we were new at it), we like the idea of a nice sit-down and guaranteed seats for the CP.

' src=

How do you get the same-day CP tickets? Go to the restaurant as soon as they open (morning?)? Or when you want to eat – and hope they still have the packages?

' src=

sorry to excite you. I was replying because I’d like to know that too. I’ve even called wdw and can’t get answer lol
