2024 NEO.bet European Darts Grand Prix draw & schedule
Rob Cross will begin his defence of the NEO.bet European Darts Grand Prix against Martin Schindler or Gian van Veen, with Luke Humphries and Luke Littler poised to renew their rivalry in Sindelfingen this weekend.
The Glaspalast will play host to the year's fourth PDC European Tour event from April 19-21, with the draw and schedule now confirmed for the £175,000 tournament.
This weekend’s action will see reigning champion Cross competing alongside world number one Humphries, Dutch superstar Michael van Gerwen and the returning Littler, who won the year's first European Tour title on debut in Wieze last month.
Friday's first round - which will be broadcast through PDCTV , Viaplay and DAZN - will feature 16 matches across two sessions, as Germany's new number one Schindler takes centre stage.
Schindler defeated Gerwyn Price to triumph in last weekend's NEO.bet International Darts Open, and the diminutive German will begin his bid for back-to-back European Tour titles against European Championship semi-finalist Van Veen.
Schindler's World Cup partner Gabriel Clemens will play Rene Eidams in an all-German affair, while Host Nation Qualifier Arno Merk has the unenviable task of taking on Belgian Darts Open champion Littler for a place in round two.
Franz Roetzsch will make his return to home soil against five-time World Champion Raymond van Barneveld, while the talented Niko Springer faces World Championship semi-finalist Scott Williams in his opening game.
2017 champion Peter Wright - also a three-time runner-up in Sindelfingen - opens his challenge against Mickey Mansell, as Joe Cullen meets Swedish qualifier Johan Engstrom.
Former European Darts Grand Prix winners Jose de Sousa and Ian White face Daryl Gurney and Chris Dobey respectively, with Masters champion Stephen Bunting drawn against Croatia's Romeo Grbavac.
2023 UK Open champion Andrew Gilding goes head-to-head with Brendan Dolan in another intriguing tie, while Ritchie Edhouse will aim to build upon his run to the quarter-finals in Riesa when he meets 2018 runner-up James Wade.
The 16 seeded players will then headline Saturday's second round, as defending champion Cross prepares to take on Schindler or Van Veen for a place in the last 16.
Humphries, meanwhile, could play Littler in a repeat of January's World Championship showpiece, with the World Champion aiming to repeat his 2022 triumph in Sindelfingen.
Third seed Price will kick off his campaign against Gilding or Dolan, while two-time champion Van Gerwen could renew his rivalry with Cullen, in a repeat of the 2022 Premier League final.
Stephen Burton and Keane Barry will battle it out for the right to play top seed Dave Chisnall, as fourth seed Damon Heta awaits the winner of the clash between Wright and Mansell.
Two-time World Champion Gary Anderson has been handed a tie with Niels Zonneveld or former PDC Asian Champion Christian Perez, while 2023 World Champion Michael Smith meets Roetzsch or Van Barneveld for a place in the last 16.
Ricardo Pietreczko is guaranteed to face a fellow countryman in the shape of Clemens or Eidams, before fifth seed Dirk van Duijvenbode enters the fray against Edhouse or Wade.
Following Saturday's second round, the last 16 will take place on Sunday afternoon, before the tournament concludes with the quarter-finals, semi-finals and final in a bumper evening session. NB: From the original list of entries, Nathan Aspinall has withdrawn due to personal reasons, while Dimitri Van den Bergh is absent due to illness. They have been replaced by Ian White and Niels Zonneveld from the Reserve List.
Live coverage of all 2024 European Tour events will be streamed through Viaplay, and through DAZN for viewers in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
Coverage will also be shown on PDCTV (excluding Germany, Austria and Switzerland) and through bookmakers' worldwide.

Luke Humphries returned to winning ways against Luke Littler on an extraordinary day of action at the NEO.bet European Darts Grand Prix, while Damon Heta produced one of the best performances in European Tour history.
It was the eighth clash between the world champion and "the Nuke" since Humphries took the world title, and the 17-year-old pushed his opponent to the brink in Saturday's blue riband match.
Humphries prevailed, surviving a final leg match dart and enjoying an 11-dart break in the decider to advance to the last 16 where he will face Stephen Bunting, who survived five match darts of his own to beat Ryan Searle 6-5 in the afternoon session.

"That record wasn't something that was playing on my mind," insisted Humphries, who had lost his previous six matches against Littler before averaging 101 and crashing in five 180s to complete the comeback. "Luke is a fantastic player and in elite level sport, these runs of results can happen, but of course I'm relieved that run is over!"
Rob Cross remained on course to defending his 2023 title with a 6-5 victory over Martin Schindler - who averaged 106.08 to his 102.64 - and on Sunday will face Danny Noppert, who beat Daryl Gurney by the same scoreline in the afternoon session.

Gerwyn Price and Gary Anderson will meet in what should be an enticing encounter after "the Iceman" cruised to a comfortable 6-1 triumph over Brendan Dolan after Anderson defeated Christian Perez 6-3.

PDC European Darts Grand Prix: Luke Humphries ends losing streak against Luke Littler
- Published 1 day ago
Luke Humphries' previous victory over Luke Littler was in the PDC World Championship final in January
Luke Humphries celebrated his first win over Luke Littler since the World Championship final as he reached the last 16 of the PDC European Darts Grand Prix in Sindelfingen, Germany.
Humphries won a thrilling contest 6-5, surviving a final-leg match dart and prevailing with a fine 11-dart break.
It is Humphries' first victory over Littler in eight matches since January's World Championship final.
"That record wasn't something that was playing on my mind," said Humphries.
"Luke is a fantastic player and in elite level sport, these runs of results can happen, but of course I'm relieved that run is over."
Humphries, who averaged 101 and notched five 180s to complete his comeback, will face Stephen Bunting on Sunday after he beat Ryan Searle 6-5.
Bunting survived five match darts of his own in the afternoon session, setting up the tie with Humphries in dramatic fashion.
Meanwhile, Rob Cross remained on course to defend his 2023 title with a 6-5 victory over Martin Schindler.
He will face Danny Noppert, who beat Daryl Gurney by the same scoreline earlier in the day.
Gerwyn Price comfortably beat Brendan Dolan 6-1 to set up a tie with Gary Anderson, who defeated Christian Perez 6-3.
And world number two Michael van Gerwen breezed past Johan Engstrom 6-1 to set up a match with Jonny Clayton, who edged out Chris Dobey 6-5.
Elsewhere, Doncaster's Beau Greaves claimed her first PDC Women's Series title of 2024 with a dominant 5-1 victory over Lisa Ashton in Wigan.
Two-time reigning women's world champion Greaves, who reeled off five straight legs after Ashton claimed the opener, said she was "relieved to get the win over the line" after some "up and down" form this season.
It was the second of two PDC Women's Series events held in Wigan on Saturday. In the first, the Netherlands' Noa-Lynn van Leuven fought back from 4-0 down to beat Greaves and claim her second title of the campaign.

PDC European Darts Grand Prix: Gary Anderson beats Ross Smith in absorbing final
Gary Anderson beat Ross Smith in an absorbing final to win the PDC European Darts Grand Prix in Sindelfingen, Germany.
Scotland's Anderson, 53, won 8-6 to end his 10-year wait for a European Tour title.
Anderson was competing in just his fourth European Tour event since bringing a seven-year hiatus from the circuit to an end in 2023.
"It's been a very long time," said Anderson.
"Wherever you go now, people want to play darts and watch darts. These crowds are incredible.
"I don't know how I've won it tonight. My last three games I've never been as lucky in darts."
A hard-fought final saw both players struggling to find top form with little between the pair when Anderson levelled at 6-6.
But the turning point came in the following leg as two-time world champion Anderson struck a 121 checkout to break throw and move within a leg of victory.
England's Smith then missed seven darts to break back, allowing Anderson to finish with 43 and deny the 35-year-old a maiden European Tour title.
Anderson beat Gerwyn Price 6-4 to reach the quarter-finals, before defeating Josh Rock 6-5 and Rob Cross 7-5.
Cross had earlier beaten Luke Humphries 6-2, who eliminated Luke Littler on Saturday.
Smith's route to the final saw him beat Ritchie Edhouse 6-5 in the last 16, before a 6-5 win over Damon Heta and a 7-6 triumph against Michael van Gerwen.

Schedule European Darts Grand Prix 2024: Luke Humphries v Luke Littler again takes centre stage on Saturday night
A delightful lineup is on the program Saturday night in the final matches of the second round of the European Darts Grand Prix . No fewer than seven (former) world champions will be in action at the Euro Tour tournament in Sindelfingen.
Two-time world champion Gary Anderson may open the evening session. The Scot will meet Christian Perez, who made history on Friday by becoming the first Asian player ever to win a match on the Euro Tour. That was at the expense of Niels Zonneveld, who was defeated 6-4 by the Filipino.

Gerwyn Price and Brendan Dolan face each other in the second round for the second consecutive Euro Tour tournament. Last week they already met at the International Darts Open, and then the win went 6-4 to Price. Raymond van Barneveld and Michael van Gerwen are the two Dutchmen who get to take the stage at the Glaspalast on Saturday night. Van Barneveld will take on Michael Smith on his 57th birthday, while a meeting with Johan Engstrom awaits Van Gerwen. 'Barney' won 6-2 over Franz Roetzsch in his first round match on Friday. For Van Barneveld, it will be his first match this tournament after he had a bye in the opening round.

We have a new champion
Gary Anderson has won the European Grand Prix!
The Scot has defeated Ross Smith 8-6 in his first Euro final since 2015.
What a moment for Anderson, and a real return to form.
He will be celebrating in Sindelfingen tonight.
Who saw that coming
Ross Smith has beaten MVG in a classic!
The Dutch star unbelievably busted, giving his opponent the opportunity to finish him off.
And Smith took no prisoners. Incredibly, he has survived 10 match darts in the tournament.
His name must be on it, although Gary Anderson will have much to say about that in the final.
Anderson is into the final
Brilliant from Gary Anderson!
He has ended Rob Cross' reign in Sindelfingen - sinking last year's champ 7-5.
Anderson hasn't appeared in a European final since 2015, so it's some return to form.
He will face either MVG or Ross Smith in the final.
Last German standing goes
Gabriel Clemens is out at the European Grand Prix.
MVG has ended hopes of a home winner by dispatching of the local favourite in some style.
Van Gerwen won 6-3 to move into the semis.
He will face off against Ross Smith in the last four.
Two more massive results
The world champion is out!
Luke Humphries was defeated 6-2 by reigning champion Rob Cross.
While, Ross Smith has defeated Damon Heta - despite Heta looking in fine form to checkout a 143 to move 4-3 ahead.
Michael van Gerwen v Gabriel Clemens up next.
Rest of tonight's action
Scenes at the European Grand Prix
Gary Anderson has squeaked through... and we mean squeaked to the semi-final.
The Scot survived several match darts from Josh Rock to somehow win 6-5.
What a start to tonight's play.
Snooker to follow darts lead
Barry Hearn reckons snooker could have its own ‘Luke Littler moment’ – but that kid might not be British.
The retired sports promoter, 75, said: “Luke Littler took darts into the mainstream which means TV rights are worth more, sponsorship is worth more.
“More money comes in, prize money goes up. Now, can we get that in snooker? Absolutely. Why not?
“Providing we can invest enough in the grassroots and bring on the next level.
“We mustn’t live in this goldfish bowl, they don’t all have to be British.”
Michael van Gerwen advice
Michael van Gerwen advised 10-year-old darts prodigy Owen Bryceland to learn from his mistakes.
What the kid has done is nice. It’s good for darts. It’s nice to help the next generation but they have to make the mistakes themselves. Then they learn the most. That will help them in the long run. You need to give yourself the time for the sport. We play in big venues now in front of millions of viewers around the world. Michael van Gerwen

Tomorrow's action in Germany
Clemens wins.
It was an all-German affair in Sindelfingen.
Gabriel Clemens took on Ricardo Pietreczko with a chance for a place in the last-16.
And it was Clemens who took Pikachu to the cleaners.
6-2. Doddle.
Humphries 6-5 Littler
Luke Humphries takes out 18 and double tops to progress to the last-16.
It was another cracking match between the two stars, but the World No1 showed his class in the later legs.
Humphries 5-5 Littler
Humphries holds his throw to take the tie to a deciding leg.
Littler to throw first...
Humphries 4-5 Littler
SO CLOSE AGAIN! Littler almost took out the Big Fish once again, but like last time... the bull evades the teen.
Littler now one away from the last-16.
Humphries 4-4 Littler
Littler took the lead for the first time in the game after a poor seventh leg from Humphries.
But the World No1 showed some fight back to hold his throw and get back to 4-4.
Humphries 3-3 Littler
Unbelievable from Littler! The 17 year-old took out a 121 finish to break Humphires throw and make the tie 3-3.
Humphries 2-3 Littler
Littler back within one and nearly took out the Big Fish but the 17-year-old missed the bull with his last dart.
Three darts later Littler hit double 16 to make the tie 3-2.
