Don't Book with Anyone Else.

It would have to be a great offer for me to book with anyone but Becky At All About Travel. Becky has been looking after my holiday bookings now for some years and even chased lost luggage for us whilst on her own holiday. Can fully recommend her service and pricing. Just returned from a great cruise all dealt with by All About Travel.

Jodie is fantastic at All About Travel. Very knowledgeable and always very responsive. I’ve booked several holidays through All About Travel and never had any issues. In fact during Covid, our holiday to Mexico got moved 3 times - once when we tested positive the day before travelling and everything was all sorted. They have great deals and Jodie will always shop around for us and does time and time again even though I don’t always book. Thank you

Excellent service

Becky has, and will always continue to book my holidays. She has a vast knowledge of places to go that have been suitable for my needs. Whether it have been to find places for when the children were small to now they are young adults, to finding girls weekend breaks or a city break away for two, Becky has always helped me find the right location. I would definitely recommend Becky and her team to find that perfect holiday for you.

Excellent service from Natalie

I contacted Natalie after seeing a post a friend had shared for her to help find us the perfect holiday for a hen party. She did not disappoint, she listened and came back with quite a few choices (they were all amazing tbh) We booked the holiday that very same day. The whole process has been so easy for booking a hen party, I can’t thank Natalie enough for all her help. I would definitely recommend her to all my friends and family and I will be using her for future holidays too. Thank you!

Brilliant service with Carly

Just booked with Carly for a week in Rhodes for me and my family in July. I had so many questions and destination ideas but Carly wasn't phased and offered many options, nothing was too much to get our perfect family summer holiday. Cannot wait to make more memories with the family.

Definitely recommend booking with Jodie!

We booked with Jodie for our holiday last year. We went August-September 2023. Jodie was brilliant, she spent time finding us the perfect holiday for the right price. She was always happy to help with my endless questions either via phone or Facebook messenger. And even ensured that someone was covering her when she went on her own holidays. Kept her Facebook page well updated to let us know when replies would be slower than usual etc which is always handy if you’ve messaged and are wondering how long you’d be waiting for a reply etc. especially if your a worrier like me! The holiday we went on was brilliant, all went smoothly from beginning to end. Hotel was lovely. Exactly what we were expecting from the photos and description. I will definitely be booking with Jodie next time we go and would recommend to anyone who’s looking for a holiday to book with Jodie!

WHAT MY CLIENTS SAY

I’m here to help.

We used Becky to plan a vacation this year and she was amazing! It was our first time using a travel agent, so we were new to the whole process. She handled everything, and always kept us in the loop about any changes to our itinerary. We had tons of questions and she took the time to answer them all and was always very responsive. We had an amazing time, and she made it so easy! We will DEFINITELY be using Becky for all future travels – she’s the best!

Becky was the best to work with when planning our Disney Cruise. She helped us find the best deal. It was cheaper then we ever thought a Disney Cruise would be. The Disney Cruise was worth every dollar. It is a trip our family talks about and misses every day. And now we know we will call Becky for our next vacation.

For me, travel has always been about family and friends.

In the over 20 years of being a travel advisor the most satisfying trips to plan are multigenerational ones that help families stay connected.

My favorite trip with my son was an Alaska cruise on an expedition ship. With my daughter, it was a trip to Italy when she was in middle school.

It's harder to pick a favorite trip with my husband because we have had so many great ones. Peru was the most surprising destination and climbing Huayna Picchu was the highlight.

I affectionately refer to my husband as a wino and hoarder. The trips where we meet winemakers, talk about and drink great wine are always special. Add in great food, and it’s no wonder why we enjoy Europe and especially river cruising so much.

Because I’m a Kansas girl, I’ve never met a beach I didn’t love. Hawaii is special and has been the destination for many trips. I can’t wait to share it with my granddaughter!

sightDOING

Hi, I’m Becky Pokora.

Way back in 2007, I found myself running around Europe for the first time, checking off “bucket list” attractions and visiting museums I didn’t care about.

All because a guidebook told me to.

becky roadtrip

Somewhere between a statue of a naked boy peeing and the thirteenth cathedral of the trip, a lightbulb went off. All my life, I’ve learned better by doing rather than seeing. Hands-on experiences, personal discoveries, and uncovering cultures and connections leaves me with longer-lasting, meaningful memories.

When it comes to travel, I believe interactive experiences are the most memorable.  Now, I try to incorporate sightDOING on every trip I take.

surfing zuma venice beach

Throughout my adventures, I’ve embraced opportunities to kayak among icebergs , bake croissants , and experiment with cupping therapy . I’ve made new friends through homestays, karaoke nights, and return visits to places I love.

These visits have taken me to  49 U.S. states , 51 countries , and all 7 continents.  About half of my travels are solo, but I also travel with my husband, my sister, or other family and friends.

I’m Not All About Travel

When I’m not traveling, you’ll find me at home in Buffalo, NY  with my husband Mike.  I work full-time writing about travel rewards and credit cards at Forbes Advisor (it’s a dream job!) and carve out time to blog whenever I can.

I love cooking, hiking, and yoga, so you’ll find them woven into my free time.  I also run when it’s nice out! Guilty pleasures include rainy day marathons of Top Chef  and dinner out with my husband.

So I am a new reader, but am very excited to see that we’ve been to many of the same places! I love your “sightdoing” message and your backyard touring posts. It looks like we have a lot of things in common besides traveling, too! Looking forward to keeping up with your adventures!

@Katrina, I’ll be looking for your backyard touring adventures too. I love mini trips like that! Thanks for stopping by 🙂

Ha! Was that you re-loading your RedBird at Target in Short Pump last week? 😉

Another fellow Richmond travel-holic.

@Kevin, I gave up Redbird when they stopped taking credit cards, but I’ll keep my eye out for you at the next easy MS opportunity 🙂

I have just found your website. I am excited to see another happily married woman ‘solo’ traveling part of the time. I am in the same situation and none of my friends can understand why I would want to go or why my husband would be okay with me going but it works really well for us! I feel more encouraged now to go! Thank you!

@Lisa, Never stop traveling! Wishing you many more trips — solo or not — and many great experiences.

I know its an old post, but the same here. I have an itch t take off at least every couple of months. I speak 5 languages, and my Spanish is the weakest of all. After traveling to 40 countries, mostly Europe, i now found an excuse to travel almost every month to Latino America to “practcie Spanish”:) Going to Nicaragua in a few days. I love Latin countries and its people. I was raising eyebrows on for a decade now by traveling by myself and being married. Very few people understand me, but its ok. They don’t have to. I will never stop as this is my passion, and noone can tell me how to live and enjoy my life.

@Yana, You’re going to have a great trip to Nicaragua and I’m glad I’m not the only married person who still enjoys traveling solo. Happy travels!

Just came back from NIcaragua. WHile i loved my trip, i suffered from lack of AC everywhere you go. I ended up paying top$$ just to have normal rest at night. It was a 102F some days.

Travelled with one small bag for 2 weeks, washed by hand everything. Next time will take even less clothes

Hello- I came across your website looking for help travelling carry-on only… Love all the great info… I’ve traveled carry-on only a few times, but always have to leave some stuffs behind … Not everything fits… I am average size… 5’6″, 140lb, size 10… Do you have to be mini size to be able to carry it all…

@Blizz, I am 5’4″ — things that help save space are rolling clothes instead of folding, using packing cubes (big help), and always wearing the bulkiest items. Hope that helps, but if not, make sure you are using the maximum size carry-on (my preferred bag is actually a little smaller).

Thank you Ayana for reaching out! I’ve been in Japan visiting my daughter for the past two weeks and am off now to Indonesia for a month solo..my longest alone trip yet and most adventurous. I plan to visit Niceragua, Guatemala and ?? Next spring if you have any tips! My email is: [email protected]

Let me know if you make it to San Francisco!

@Lisa, Japan and Indonesia sounds like a really cool combo. Talk about two very different places!

Next spring with Guate & Nica, the beaches of El Salvador make a lot of logistic sense or from Guate you might want to head into Belize, which feels like a very different part of the world. Have fun decididing 😉

Thank you SO much! I might be in touch in the planning stages for your wisdom ?

I found your site looking for DIY First Aid Kits. We are trying to minimally pack for 2 weeks so I want to take a small First Aid Kit. I am also happily married and have solo traveled a few times. My husband likes to do the same things I do(I guess that’s why I married him) so he goes along most of the time.

To Lisa- Belize!!!! It’s wonderful. Mainland Belize has so much culture and adventure and then there is Caye Caulkler which is backpackers paradise. We are headed to Caye Caulker in July… If you have Belize, Aruba or Puerto Rico questions…………

@Cecile, Sounds like a wonderful life of travel! I also try to pack minimally and hope that you found some helpful information.

And I so agree with your sightdoing! I’ve given people the definition of traveler and tourist, which are so different!

Your trips sound AMAZING!! Me and my friend want to take a semester off from college and travel. But we also want to save money, what would be a great cheap place to visit?

@Rebecca, The two regions with relatively easy logistics and low prices are Central America & Southeast Asia. If you have 2-3 months, I’d pick one region…if you have 4+, you could split your time (assuming you’ve got cash for the extra flight). You’ve got lots of choices within those regions, so even with a semester, you’ll probably still have to pick and choose your favorite spots. There’s never enough time to see it all!

My wife and I are heading for two weeks in Slovenia. I found your blog very helpful. Thanks- Denton

@Denton, Happy to help! Have a great trip.

Becky. Just found your blog and really like it. Another Richmoner here working at Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU and living out in Short Pump. Travel about 150 000 miles each year for work, but with my wife and boys when I can. Will be lecturing in Guatemala next week and leaving Tuesday with my wife. Just enough time to read what you’ve written!

@Bruce, Have a wonderful trip and hope you have a chance to see a little of Guatemala inbetween lectures.

Hello Can you share about the last time you went through Panama Airport security, did you bring your medication with you in the original RX bottle with label & 90 day supply. ??? Going to Panama end of Sept. 2019 Thank you

@Douglas, I don’t typically travel with prescriptions so I don’t have any firsthand knowledge of this. However, the over-the-counter medications I brought were NOT in original packaging and I had no issues.

“SightDOING”! I like it 🙂

I have friends who rush around checking things off a bucket list but I prefer not to travel that way. A lot of the time I just pick a direction, walk and explore.

Strangely enough, I often end up encountering the things tourists are “supposed” to see though a lot of the time I don’t know what they are. If they look interesting I do some research later so a lot of the time I’m doing things back to front.

@Steve, I hit a bunch of the things you’re “supposed” to see as well — and like you, often by accident/coincidence!

We asked, you answered: Parent-approved tips on traveling with kids under 2

Becky Harlan headshot

Becky Harlan

Photograph of a baby sitting next to an open carryon suitcase filled with clothing and other travel items, all against a light pink backdrop.

Last month, Life Kit asked parents to share their go-to advice for traveling with babies and toddlers under age 2 as part of an episode we did on the subject. Over 200 folks responded with tips they wish they'd known before taking a big trip with a little one.

Reading through these responses, it became clear there's no magic hack that works for every kid. Some parents swore by sticking to their kid's sleep schedule on a trip, others said their vacation was smoother when they let the usual routine go. Some sang the praises of the overnight flight (so their child would sleep on the plane), others said their child has never slept more than 10 minutes on a plane no matter the timing.

I flew to Japan with my baby. Here's the travel advice that helped me survive the trip

I flew to Japan with my baby. Here's the travel advice that helped me survive the trip

A few pieces of advice held true throughout. A hungry kid is an unpleasant kid, and children are messy. So packing lots of snacks, extra diapers and a change of clothes ranked high on the list of must-dos. Almost 40 of over 200 responses suggested packing extra outfits in your carry-on for your kid and for you. (If your charge spits up, throws up, blows out or spills it will also get on you!)

So here's a non-exhaustive, impossible-to-be-comprehensive, but-hopefully-still-helpful round-up of your top advice for traveling with little kids. These responses have been edited for length and clarity.

What to pack

A stroller that can be stored in the overhead bin. It's a game changer to not have to check clunky strollers at the gate or check-in counters. —Amy P.

A change of clothes for yourself. If the baby spits up or has a blowout, there's a high likelihood that the mess will end up on you too, especially if you're holding them. Also, be sure to bring a bag to put messy clothes in. Reusable waterproof bags are great and they keep the smell in! —Jenna Yount

Extra diapers. You think you will be fine but if something comes up it's not a good situation to be in. —Jeanna Limtiaco

Overnight diapers. Fewer diaper changes in transit makes everyone happier. —Samantha Warren

Snacks. Remember, the U.S. Transportation Security Administration allows for any size baby food [and baby or toddler beverage], so pack those pouches! —Clara W.

Meds you and your kids might need in flight. That includes chewable Tylenol, Imodium, Dramamine, Zofran, ginger chews, Band-Aids and alcohol wipes. —Paige Ellis

A dark-colored bath towel. It's a blanket, it's for tidying up, it's a tablecloth, it's a sun cover, it shields bottoms from hot slides, it dries off swings. It's a multi-tasking powerhouse. —Judith Heise

Consider what may make sense to buy, rent or borrow upon arrival. You don't need to stuff everything into your suitcase. Buy some of your diapers and snacks at your destination. See if you can borrow or rent large, bulky items like car seats or travel cribs from Facebook Marketplace or your hotel or Airbnb. —Jocelyn Newman

How to get through the flight

Get to your gate an hour before boarding. It gives you time to feed your child, change their diapers, have a cup of coffee and fill your water bottle. It can also help your kid let out their energy before they have to sit on the plane. —Shelly C.

Check the airport for family friendly spaces. Use nursing spaces or pods and family restrooms to reset as needed. Check lounges for nursing and play rooms. —Sara Conger

Take an early morning flight. Those are least likely to get delayed, which is important when traveling with kids. —Carina Ochoa

Parenthood Is A Shock To The System. These Tips Can Help You With The Transition

Parenthood Is A Shock To The System. These Tips Can Help You With The Transition

Board with your partner separately. If you're traveling with two caregivers, have one go on the plane first with all the stuff and do the gate-checking of the stroller while the other hangs back with the kids until the last minute. It gives kids more time to run around! —Andrea De Francesca

Get a plane seat for your kid. Even though many airlines allow kids under 2 to fly for free as a lap baby, if you can afford to get them their own seat, it is worth it. It is recommended for safety to have them in a car seat, according to the Federal Aviation Administration, and the extra space for them to move around is nice. —Nicole Shelledy

Be ready for motion sickness. We were not prepared for how easily some little ones get motion sickness on an airplane. Have throw-up bags handy at all times. —Tiff Bankhurst

Prevent ear discomfort. Sucking during take off and landing may help relieve ear discomfort. My babies have flown with me from 4 weeks onward and never had a problem as long as they had a bottle or sippy cup or straw to suck on. —Shelly Ransom

Don't plan on them sleeping on the plane. It's great if they do, but if it doesn't happen, you'll be frustrated. —Colleen Mayerhoff

Don't worry too much about your kid "bothering" other people. The vast majority of people don't care, and many have been in the same situation you've been in and feel nothing but empathy for you. As for those who do care, they are not guaranteed a child-free existence in public. Kids are part of society too, and they are also allowed to take up space. —Jenna Yount

Make friends with the flight crew. They're going to help, they've got more experience than you, and they also want the flight to be pleasant. —April Graham

Save the screens for the flight. If you're using a screen, wait until you're on the plane. While you're waiting in the terminal, let them move as much as possible. Find an empty gate and play Simon Says, see who can jump in one place the longest, do animal charades. Let them go wild. —Paige Ellis

Download age-appropriate shows for your child on an iPad. (But know that if your kid is under age 2 they'll mostly just want to push the buttons.) —Chantel Dockstader

Travel hacks

Find a lodging close to a grocery store and a park. It makes it easy to buy last-minute things and burn off their energy easily at a park. —Gillian Molina

Dress your young kids in bright, matching shirts. I once traveled alone when my kids were 2, 4 and 6. We all wore matching yellow shirts so people could see we were together. —Emily Hernandez

If you want to let your little one crawl around , bring a pair of socks that you can put over their hands. Then you don't have to worry about dirty hands afterward. —Shannon Geraghty

Hire a photographer. You'll have photos with everyone in them, maybe get to see some scenic parts of the city you hadn't seen before. Dress up, wear matching outfits, be extra! They're only little once. —Tina Doyle

Helpful mindsets

It's not a vacation. It's a trip. You're just parenting in a new place. Set your expectations accordingly. —Laura Henriquez

The airport/train/bus/car is not the time to enforce the normal at-home rules. Do you want Doritos at 7 a.m. at the airport? OK. Do you want to watch 20 episodes of Blippi on the plane? No problem. There are no rules when traveling. This also makes traveling fun for kids because they get to do something different. —Meg Houston

Build in extra time to do things. It will decrease the chances of you and your child getting into stressful situations. —Cori DeLano

You're not going to get as much done as you think with a kiddo in tow. Think about things like nap schedule, traveling with a stroller, meltdowns, diaper changes. On my most "successful" trip with my kiddo, we planned one big activity a day and left the rest of the day open with some general ideas and left room for flexibility. —Whitney Winters

They might not remember, but you will. —Nina Hartman

Share All sharing options for: Rhea Ripley and Becky Lynch get personal

Rhea Ripley and Becky Lynch started their feud by teasing out a confrontation between two of the top stars in the women’s division in all of WWE. It was a simple enough angle to take. It’s been some time since they went at it, and never at the highest level.

Naturally, they set it up to go after it at WrestleMania 40 .

Then, a problem — they bounced around a bit much with the story. Lynch at one point made clear she was having some issues with getting back to the top and needed to prove that she is better than Ripley, the hot new blood occupying the tippy top of the mountain. But then they went away from that to a sort of generic approach, just two wrestlers talking trash and Lynch seemed to lose that chip on her shoulder.

This week on Monday Night Raw things took another turn, this time to the deeply personal:

MAMI just ignited the flames on #WWERaw ! pic.twitter.com/GR2BSyzPP8 — WWE (@WWE) March 26, 2024

It felt a bit out of place, especially the way Lynch made sure to mention her father never meeting her daughter, but the idea was to generate even more of a rivalry and it did just that.

The match is just a couple weeks away.

Anyway, here are all the videos from Raw this week:

No water bottle has gained the level of fame that Stanley’s 40-ounce Quencher Tumbler has, making it a highly sought-after vessel that sells out quickly. Rightfully so — the stainless steel tumbler keeps water incredibly cold for hours, famously fits in the cup holder of your car, and comes in so many seasonal colors.

And today, the brand just dropped its exclusive Sunshine Vibes Stanley collection at Target, which includes the shopper-favorite brand in bold, spring- and summer-ready hues. Whether you’re in the market for a new water bottle or want to add some fun new colors to your on-the-go collection, shop the new launch now while products are still in stock.

Stanley 40-Ounce Quencher Tumbler

The brand’s most popular water bottle, the 40-Ounce Stainless Steel H2.0 Flowstate Quencher Tumbler , now comes in four new colors: amethyst, aqua, sunshine, and summer plaid, a pattern which consists of its other shades. Shoppers love the water bottle for road trips, workout classes, and long flights, and the new one features the same lid that allows you to sip directly from the bottle, use a straw, or secure it closed to prevent splashes.

Stanley 20-Ounce Stainless Steel IceFlow Flip Straw Tumbler

While the larger tumbler is designed to be an on-the-go water bottle, Stanley has multiple travel-friendly bottles that are also included in the new color drop. If a smaller tumbler makes more sense for you, grab the 20-Ounce IceFlow Flip Straw Tumbler in aqua, cobalt, marigold, and poppy. And for a water bottle that can be thrown in your bag without fear of leaking, opt for the 20-Ounce All Day Slim Bottle , which comes in four striped patterns and has two openings at the top to fill it easily with water and ice.

Stanley 20-Ounce Stainless Steel All Day Slim Bottle

In addition to the updated colors, Stanley’s new launch also includes a patio collection featuring pitchers , flasks , coolers , and large-capacity drink dispensers . If summer travel looks like trips to the beach or camping in the mountains, the 16-Quart Easy-Carry Outdoor Cooler is an ideal option to hold up to 21 cans, and it comes in three colors: azure, lilac, and pomelo.

Stanley 16-Quart Plastic Easy-Carry Outdoor Cooler

If past Stanley collections are any indication, this new launch is likely to sell out while you’re reading this. Keep scrolling through for more color options, and snag your favorites from Stanley’s Sunshine Vibes Collection while they’re still in stock.

ALL ABOUT TRAVEL

  • Dec 29, 2020

Welcome to our brand new website, which we, at All About Travel are very excited to share with you.

becky all about travel

I wanted to start off the first blog with who we are and how All About Travel began…

I have been a travel agent since 1996, after studying leisure and tourism at college for 2 years previously. I worked in both independent & multiple agencies on the High Street, and over 10 years had worked my way up to being a town manager in Leamington Spa, with 2 shops and a foreign exchange bureau that I managed.

It was then I found myself expecting my first baby, and when due to return from maternity leave I decided I couldn’t leave her for full time work and commit to weekends. Given the

timing I decided to become a Personal Travel Agent working from home, which would fit in perfectly with family life & let me combine being a Mummy with my passion for selling holidays!

That was early 2006, and year by year my business grew with the loyalty of existing customers and the recommendations to new clients, along with the growth of social media. Working this way allowed me to be available at a time to suit customers needs and for them to not feel rushed into making quick decisions.

becky all about travel

It also meant I could be a Mummy and 2 other babies quickly followed.

The business grew rapidly once my babies were all at school and in 2015 Cindy joined me. Cindy came with over 25 years experience in a shop and having worked with her previously I knew it would be a great move. This proved a great success and over the next 2 years, Rachel. Amy & Jodie had joined the team, again all bringing a wealth of experience with them.

By 2017 we had outgrown the previous model and it was time to take the next step, get my own ABTA number and All About Travel was born. I wanted to use all my experience, contacts and passion to create a new brand. A brand that offered a personal tailored approach, where we can make recommendations on our own travels and experiences.

becky all about travel

The fact we are an independent agency means we have access to more suppliers, destinations and products, we can sell what we truly believe is the best holiday to suit your needs. We aim to provide the perfect holiday for you at the best price possible, whether that be a fun filled family holiday, a round the world cruise or a tailor made itinerary. We are both ABTA & ATOL bonded, and as part of the Mid Counties Travel Consortium so you know your money is all financially protected.

Since All About Travel was launched we have continued to grow and now have 13 travel advisors all over the UK , all with years of experience (over 100 years combined) and all well travelled themselves, between us we really do have the world covered. We are all based at home, so can work at a time to suit you, and can communicate by phone, email, zoom or can even arrange home visits. We pride ourselves on attention to detail and aim to provide the best service possible. We are not just a click on a keyboard, we are real people at the end of the phone available to answer questions and provide advice, which, now more then ever, is so important. We understand how much your holiday means to you and are with you from the very beginning until your return.

As a write this, at the end of December 2020, I cannot believe the last 18 months we have had. The collapse of Thomas Cook, sand storms, bush fires, airline strikes and then Covid, it has tested us all in more ways than I thought possible. The constant changing of advice this year, the lockdowns, the restrictions, has all made it nearly impossible to carry on selling holidays, but I am pleased to say we have made it! In fact we have gone from strength to strength, gaining new clients on recommendation of how we have handled the crisis, we haven’t closed and been available to contact throughout which has meant we have a brand you can rely on and trust.

I would like to personally thank every customer old and new for your support and loyalty over the years, and for those who haven’t used us before, I really hope you give us a try for your next trip!

Elevating airport experiences: the boom of luxury travel retail.

Duty-free in Singapore's Changi airport, which was voted world's best airport in 2023 at the World ... [+] Airport Awards.

With the post-pandemic travel boom ongoing, travel retail is set to surpass $117 billion in global sales by 2030, growing at nearly +10% annually from 2022. To meet rising traffic and enhance traveler experiences, airports are investing in their infrastructure, opening up a realm of opportunities for brands to expand their travel retail footprint. Increasingly, international airports are welcoming luxury brands as a way to elevate the overall airport experience and boost their appeal, contributing to a shift towards a more premium travel retail offering.

European Airports Bet High On Luxury Brands

Schipol Airport in Amsterdam - the fourth largest airport in Europe - is upgrading its Lounge 2, designing a new layout and rethinking the traveler experience altogether. At the heart of this enhancement is the dedication to luxury travel retail and premium food providers in order to elevate drastically the airport journey. This marks a transformation that can be witnessed across a range of international airports, which are benefiting from increased funding to rethink the airport offering and cater to travelers wishing to benefit from a pleasant airport experience before their flight.

“The renovation of Lounge 2 is part of a larger plan to make Schiphol attractive to passengers again: tastier and more sustainable food and beverages, great shops with an appealing range and an environment that emphasises Schiphol's standing as a home base for world travellers,” shared Arthur Reijnhart, executive director of Schiphol Commercial in a press release . “We're also improving our range of offerings in the luxury segment, with the first big step being the arrival of top brands Louis Vuitton and BVLGARI in Lounge 2. We'll be creating space for this renewed range in phases, and the opening of BVLGARI is a significant milestone.”

Schipol Airport is not the first to lead this increased focused on luxury travel retail: both Rome and Paris airports are gearing up their luxury retail offering following the examples set by airports in Dubai and Asia mainly. Indeed, as Isabelle Fourmentin, CEO of JCDecaux Airport Paris (a joint-venture between advertising JCDecaux and Paris Aéroport) explained for Luxury-Insights.com , luxury brands are the perfect fit for enhanced infrastructure and premium airport experiences. “The trend started in the main Asian hubs such as Shanghai or Singapore, along with the mega-airport at Dubai. European airports have since followed suit, with the major revamp of the Paris airports since 2005. Thanks to a gradual renewal of the infrastructure there, luxury brands now have more spacious stores, often with a highly desirable ceiling height – giving them plenty of room for inspiration.”

This has led Rome airport’s retail strategy to focus on luxury offerings, not just to elevate the airport experience, but also to go after a lucrative segment of the market. Gianluca Littarru, Rome airport’s general manager, shared in an article for Kering: “we particularly need luxury retail, which is one of the key drivers of growth in the retail business – combining a brand narrative and experience with the significant price advantages of the Duty-Free area.” He also added that “the spend per passenger for flights to China is five times that of other long-haul destinations”, explaining why many airports develop these high-end duty-free stores for passengers flying outside Europe.

Here Are All The Major Allegations Against Sean Diddy Combs

Wwe raw results winners and grades as the rock and cm punk return, its contest emerging fashion designers find support at trieste, digitalization and experiences are key to high-end travel retail.

Thanks to a continuous improvement in infrastructure, luxury brands will have more of a playing field to engage with their audience in airports, both thanks to digital outlets and interactive shopping experiences. Brand activations are being reimagined to target affluent travelers and reinforce brands’ luxury credentials with beautiful displays and bespoke customer service, even outside retail stores. LVMH-owned brand Bulgari’s Rome airport footprint is a good example of this. The brand unveiled a new fragrance counter at the end of 2023. “In Bulgari’s new corners, travelers can indulge in a first-hand fragrance journey. To enhance the shopping experience, Bulgari’s highly trained advisors offer specialized services like custom gift-wrapping—a personal touch of Roman allure. Additionally, pop-up events, such as fragrance-flacon engraving and complimentary fashion illustrations, enrich the transportive ambiance of the spaces,” said the brand in a statement .

In addition to these type of visual and engaging brand interactions, highly digitalized marketing activations are helping deliver a premium feel to airport experiences. Luxury brand are investing in delivering innovative and desirable content displayed on screens, a tool that airports leverage heavily given the certain visibility generated by limited space and certain passenger traffic. Large screens help elevate the passenger experience, but digital experiences are expected to go further to meet expectations of luxury shoppers even within airports.

Last year, Hong Kong airport launched its digital luxury platform, allowing travellers to access a concierge service and make pre-flight purchases. Orders placed can be delivered to the gate or at the customer’s home thanks to free local and global delivery, a service that demonstrates how airports have the potential to become shopping destinations just like standalone luxury boutiques.

As Asian airports lead in luxury and digital experiences, other global airports are expected to follow suit, further expanding their luxury retail footprint and transforming airports into premium shopping destinations, giving brands a serious retail channel to dive into.
