World Seniors Snooker (WSS) was established by the WPBSA in June 2018 to provide opportunities for players over 40 to be able to extend their snooker careers beyond the professional World Snooker Tour.
From the former greats of the professional sport including world champions who have still got the desire to play competitively, to talented amateurs who still crave the opportunity to live their snooker dreams, the WSS Tour provides opportunities for senior players around the world.
Since 2020, tournaments have for the first time also been open to current professional players ranked outside of the world’s top 64, providing a direct link to the World Snooker Tour.
Governing Body Support
WSS is a subsidiary organisation of snooker’s world governing body the WPBSA and is also a full member of snooker’s international federation the World Snooker Federation.
Through these fundamental links WSS is a key organisation within the infrastructure of professional snooker and is able to provide a clear pathway to prestigious competitions for successful players. In recent years these have included places at major tournaments including the Champion of Champions and professional World Championship qualifiers.
WSS Directors
The WSS board is run on a day-to-day basis by its Board of Directors, under the governance of the WPBSA.
- Jason Francis – Chairman
- Jason Ferguson – Director
- John Parrott – Non-Executive Director
- Rohit Sagoo – Non-Executive Director

Ronnie O'Sullivan actions could come back to bite him ahead of Tour Championship
WATCH NOW: Ronnie O'Sullivan lifts an eighth Masters title in January

The seven-time world champion has decided to reduce his schedule this season

Ronnie O'Sullivan's decision to withdraw from several ranking events could cost him ahead of the penultimate tournament of the season.
The 48-year-old's lack of action may see him lose his world No 1 spot to Judd Trump at the Tour Championship in Manchester next week.
O'Sullivan has won five tournaments so far this season but only two - the UK Championship and World Grand Prix - have contributed ranking points.
Trump, meanwhile, has won five ranking events, the latest of which came at the World Open in China on Sunday.
Ronnie O'Sullivan could lose his world No 1 spot at the Tour Championship next week
O'Sullivan missed the first ranking tournament of the season at the Championship League last July.
He also pulled out of the European Masters, British Open and Northern Ireland Open due to medical reasons.
O'Sullivan sat out of the Snooker Shoot Out in December after previously saying he will 'never play' the tournament again.
He was also absent from the Scottish Open the following week, before withdrawing from the German Masters and Welsh Open in February.
O'Sullivan's decision to skip the tournaments has seen him miss the chance to pick up more ranking points and the chance to extend the gap over Trump.
He has held the top spot in the world rankings since he beat the 34-year-old in the World Championship final in 2022.
But there is a realistic chance Trump can overtake him at the Tour Championship.
Trump's win at the World Open has closed him within 18,000 points of O'Sullivan in the latest provisional ranking list.
If he wins the Tour Championship next week, he will become world No 1 for the first time since 2021.
He will also move to No 1 if he reaches the final and O'Sullivan loses in the semi-final or earlier.
Trump will enter the tournament at the quarter-final stage so may only need two wins to get back on top of the world.
O'Sullivan will maintain his No 1 spot if he wins the trophy or goes further than Trump at the event.
The pair will then head to the Crucible for the World Championship which begins on April 20.

Ronnie O'Sullivan has chosen to skip several ranking events this season
Last month, Trump confirmed his desire to overtake O'Sullivan in the rankings.
He told the WST: "I've not had many bad events and it's nice to be up there challenging again for that No 1 spot come the end of the season.
"If me and Ronnie keep that same form, it'll be a good battle and hopefully we can meet in a few more finals before the end of the season."
O'Sullivan will be aiming for a record-breaking eighth World Championship, a feat he is keen to achieve.
Judd Trump has won five ranking events to give him a chance of overtaking Ronnie O'Sullivan
He said: "Yeah I'd love to. I'd love to try and win the Crucible. It's a hard tournament, long time, 17 days. So a lot can happen there.
"I'd love to win that another time to make it eight but there's so many good players around.
"So you have to get a little bit of luck, play some good snooker at the right time. I'll be going there trying my best."

The World Open is held for the first time in nearly five years as the ranking event in Yushan returns to the World Snooker Tour calendar.
The 2019 edition was the final professional event held in mainland China before the COVID pandemic struck and the sport did not return for almost four years.
Judd Trump beat Thepchaiya Un-Nooh in that final nearly five years ago and the Ace is back to try and defend his title at Yushan Sports Centre.
There has been a round of qualifying already, held in Barnsley in January, with notable names including Jack Lisowski, Anthony McGill, Gary Wilson, Marco Fu, Thepchaiya and Stuart Bingham all falling at the first hurdle.
There is no shortage of stars, though, with the likes of Ronnie O’Sullivan, Mark Selby, Mark Allen, Luca Brecel and John Higgins joining Trump among the favourites to lift the trophy.
There is plenty on the line in Yushan, with the winner claiming the £170,000 top prize and the runner-up a very healthy £73,000.
The top 12 on the one-year ranking list will head to Manchester for the Tour Championship on 1 April, while there is also the race to avoid qualification for the World Championship by securing a top 16 spot in he world rankings.

The World Open returns to the World Snooker Tour for the first time in over four years.
The last edition of the tournament was held in Yushan, China in October 2019, prior to the COVID pandemic, which effectively scrubbed it off the agenda until now.
While a lot has transpired since that last event, some things don't change, as proven by the reigning champion from 2019, Judd Trump.
Then aged 29, Trump swept away Thepchaiya Un-Nooh 10-5 in the final to clinch the grand prize and he currently leads the way on the one-year ranking list for 2023/24.
A strong field, including Ronnie O'Sullivan, will compete for a hefty prize pot in China as the season approaches the home stretch.

World Open snooker: Mark Selby secures Tour Championship spot after Hossein Vafaei defeat, but John Higgins faces sweat
Updated 23/03/2024 at 08:44 GMT
A dramatic day of quarter-final action at the World Open has left only one more place up for grabs at the 12-man Tour Championship in Manchester. Mark Selby was the 11th player to be confirmed as part of the elite field, but his fellow four-time world champion John Higgins must hope for a Judd Trump or Ding Junhui title success to secure the 12th and final spot in the coveted event.

MOSCOW TOPOGRAPHY
Moscow has developed in circles around the original historical center. Today, Muscovites divide their city into four road rings. The first one, Bulvarnoye Koltso (Boulevard Ring), contains the very center of the city, the Kremlin, as well as the Red Square and some other tourist attractions. The second ring road draws a circle with a diameter of around five kilometers around the Kremlin and covers what is considered the city center. The area is referred to as Sadovoye koltso , the Garden Ring. The Third Transport Ring ( TTK ) is a high-speed freeway. The fourth ring is enclosed by the Moscow Automobile Ring Road ( MKAD ). The MKAD is the official city boundary, although there are huge areas outside the ring that are also officially part of the city area.
