This will be a short review since I'm writing it on my phone.
This was the third time I'd seen the Butcher Babies live and the first time while touring for their current album (Take it Like a Man). Although I prefer their previous album, I thought this was the best performance I'd seen them do. They didn't have a lot of room to work with since it was a small venue and they were the second opening act. Despite that, they did a great job moving around the stage, jumping off steps, etc to give a very dynamic performance. I was personally disappointed they didn't play more songs off Goliath, but at least they mixed in a couple of their older songs as well as one from their cover EP. It's tough to please everyone when you've only got a 10 song set. I liked that they kept the crowd engaged without resorting to such tired cliches as "Are you ready to rock?" For me, the best part of the show was probably when Heidi got into the crowd during the last song (Magnolia Blvd) and got in the center of the mosh pit and had the members run around her.
In summary, it was a great show and if you like metal, I highly recommend song these guys live!

The lights go completely down as the xx chromosome fronted Butcher Babies (yep, that is definitely their band’s name) take to the stage. They are absolutely terrifying, but in such a way that you just want to hear and see more of what they’re doing. They are so intriguing with their metalcore sound, which isn’t for the feint hearted. They’re all about their growls and screams, and then launching into their choruses complete with the largest hooks, left right and centre - as if their image didn’t draw you us all in enough!
It is no surprise to me whatsoever that they often get mistaken for being ex-playmates with their image, and of course they consider themselves “slut metal” as they wear some of the raunchiest clothing you’ve ever seen. Heidi Shepherd and Carla Harvey, the pin up girls that front this band, in fairness, do the best job at commanding the audience throughout this electric set. All in all, they have some extremely catchy songs, as they play songs such as “Magnolia Boulevard”, which has the entire audience singing.
Butcher babies is my favorite band they are so down to earth me and my friend got to meet them at the end of their set the shook our hands and introduced themselfs they are very appreciative of there fans and they notice you. they talked to us about how we are crazy and dont care. They told us they wanted to see the pictures we took. The stage was smaller than most stages but butcher babies still fucked shit up like they wanted.during the first song Heidi came over to me held my hand and put the mic in my face to sing. About the third song I started crowd surfing I got up on stage 3 times everytime Heidi pulled me up. I got to hug her on stage a couple times and I got to sing Mongola Blvd with heidi on stage.I have had a dream of being on stage with butcher babies since I started listening to them.yesterday was truly a dream come true.
It seems Butcher Babies never disappoint. This was my second time seeing them and they sound even better and have even more energy in person. They create such an amazing atmosphere and make sure you lose your fucking mind and have a great time. They're also really nice and almost always stick around to meet with fans after the show. Definitely go see them if you get the chance, it's well worth it. My neck is a bit sore though...
I took my mom to her very first rock concert mind you she is 71 that crazy lady made her way to the front she was amazed and to top it off she got to meet the butcher babies my mom is too awesome she wants to know when their coming back that's for making it so memorable
Loved every second of their live performance. Butcher Babies is a band that you can really appreciate live. They tore it up non stop and brought nothing but good times with metal. I highly recommend Butcher Babies for your next concert.
Very good show. Tons of energy from the band. The sound wasn't very good, but that is to be expected from an opening act.I look forward to seeing them again in a smaller venue where they can have control over their sound.
Once again another great venue and a excellent show by the Butcher Babies. Kept the pit going and the hold crowd jumping and having an killer time. Will be seeing them again when they headline there own tour this spring
As always, my friends rocked the place. Heidi and Carla bring so much energy to every show and it shows. The chemistry between Heidi and Henry comes out on stage.
My personal bias... Chrissy rocks!
Super dope show can't wait to see them again. I met them for their meet and greet, down to earth, and a buch of really cool people. The Depot was a pretty cool venue, it was my first time there.

Butcher Babies’ Carla Harvey To Miss European/UK Tour Due To Emergency Eye Surgery
Butcher Babies co-vocalist Carla Harvey has announced that she will be sitting out the band’s impending European/UK tour with Fear Factory and Ignea . A statement released today, October 26th, on social media by Harvey herself reveals that she requires emergency eye surgery.
Here’s what she had to say of the matter:
“Here’s a picture of a girl in her happy place; unfortunately i won’t be in that happy place on the upcoming @butcherbabies Euro run. Love you all but i have to sit this one out! I have a history of problematic vision and I had to have a major surgery about 10 years ago in my right eye for a retinal detachment. On our summer tour the telltale symptoms repeated themselves in my left eye. I’ve been hoping to avoid major surgery but it is clear that it must be done. My emergency surgery will include a healing process of laying face down for a number of days with a gas bubble in my eye. This is the first time in fifteen years i won’t be able to join my friends on stage but right now my health and sight take precedence for me. While I am gutted that I cannot make the tour the risk of me waiting till after a tour to do such a surgery is too great and includes permanent vision loss. The beauty of having two vocalists is that Heidi can cover for me until i’m better! Hoping to make it out for part of this euro run…go to the shows, have a blast and support my bandmates for me! I’ll see you soon! #butcherbabies”

Butcher Babies announce tour w/ Infected Rain, Stitched Up Heart & Kaleido
Posted by Zenae Zukowski on July 12, 2021
Butcher Babies will return to the road later this summer in celebration of the 8th anniversary of their debut album, Goliath , which was released in 2013 via Century Media Records. Butcher Babies Vs. Goliath tour is set to kick off on August 28th and will run through October 8th. Support will be coming from Infected Rain and Stitched Up Heart. Kaleido will appear on select dates. Tickets go on sale this Friday (16th) at 10am local time, via the band’s website .
Vocalist Heidi Shepherd comments:
“Blasting back into the realm of live music iss already the thing that I am most excited about in life. Adding in playing our debut album ‘Goliath’ every night on top of that makes this one of our most explosive tours to date. I’m especially excited to bring our friends in Infected Rain and Stitched Up Heart along for the ride. This will without a doubt be a DO-NOT-MISS tour with some of the fiercest ladies in metal!”
Singer Carla Harvey adds:
“After almost a year and a half of dark stages, we are so thrilled to be going back out on the road. I cannot wait for that first electric moment in front of a live crowd again, celebrating the return of music together! I expect lots of happy tears in the mosh pit on this run. Making the return even sweeter, we’re bringing along some of our favorite women in metal. This is our first female fronted tour package in the United States, a display of girl power at its finest!”

BUTCHER BABIES' CARLA HARVEY To Sit Out European Tour
BUTCHER BABIES co-vocalist Carla Harvey will sit out the band's upcoming European tour with FEAR FACTORY and IGNEA in order to undergo emergency surgery on her left eye.
Harvey shared the news of her absence from the trek earlier today in a social media post. The 47-year-old singer, who co-founded BUTCHER BABIES in 2010 with fellow vocalist Heidi Shepherd , posted a photo of her performing with her bandmates, and she included the following message: "Here's a picture of a girl in her happy place; unfortunately i won't be in that happy place on the upcoming @butcherbabies Euro run. Love you all but i have to sit this one out!
"I have a history of problematic vision and I had to have a major surgery about 10 years ago in my right eye for a retinal detachment. On our summer tour the telltale symptoms repeated themselves in my left eye. I've been hoping to avoid major surgery but it is clear that it must be done. My emergency surgery will include a healing process of laying face down for a number of days with a gas bubble in my eye."
Carla added: "This is the first time in fifteen years i won't be able to join my friends on stage but right now my health and sight take precedence for me. While I am gutted that I cannot make the tour the risk of me waiting till after a tour to do such a surgery is too great and includes permanent vision loss. The beauty of having two vocalists is that Heidi can cover for me until i'm better!
"Hoping to make it out for part of this euro run...go to the shows, have a blast and support my bandmates for me! I'll see you soon!"
In the comments section, Shepherd voiced her support for her bandmate, writing: "Sending all the love and healing. We'll hold down the fort while you heal. We need those beautiful eyes to work!!! Love you!"
BUTCHER BABIES ' tour with FEAR FACTORY and IGNEA is scheduled to kick off on October 27 in Nottingham, United Kingdom and conclude on December 16 in Helsinki, Finland.
BUTCHER BABIES released a double album "Eye For An Eye..." and "…'Til The World's Blind" , in July. The double album celebrates the tenth anniversary of BUTCHER BABIES ' critically acclaimed debut, "Goliath" , released on July 9, 2013 via Century Media Records .
BUTCHER BABIES ' previous album, 2017's "Lilith" was produced by Steve Evetts ( THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN , SEPULTURA , SUICIDE SILENCE ) and marked the band's recording debut with drummer Chase Brickenden , who replaced Chris Warner in 2016.
In July 2019, longtime BUTCHER BABIES bassist Jason Klein announced his departure from the band. He has since been replaced by Ricky Bonazza .

BUTCHER BABIES Vocalist CARLA HARVEY Will Not Be On Upcoming UK / European Tour

news carla harvey butcher babies
Butcher Babies co-vocalist Carla Harvey will miss her band's 2023 UK / European tour with Fear Factory and Ignea in order to undergo emergency eye surgery.
Earlier today, Carla posted the following message on social media:
"Here's a picture of a girl in her happy place; unfortunately i won't be in that happy place on the upcoming Butcher Babies Euro run. Love you all but i have to sit this one out! I have a history of problematic vision and I had to have a major surgery about 10 years ago in my right eye for a retinal detachment. On our summer tour the telltale symptoms repeated themselves in my left eye. I've been hoping to avoid major surgery but it is clear that it must be done. My emergency surgery will include a healing process of laying face down for a number of days with a gas bubble in my eye. This is the first time in fifteen years i won't be able to join my friends on stage but right now my health and sight take precedence for me. While I am gutted that I cannot make the tour the risk of me waiting till after a tour to do such a surgery is too great and includes permanent vision loss. The beauty of having two vocalists is that Heidi can cover for me until i'm better! Hoping to make it out for part of this euro run...go to the shows, have a blast and support my bandmates for me! I'll see you soon!"
