Disclaimer : All orders will be shipped for $25 except orders that are excessive weight or remote locations set forth by Canada post.

• Most confirmed orders (Restricted Firearms Excluded) are shipped within 4 business days. Leupold products may require 6-10 days for shipping.
• All ammunition will be shipped separate from firearms
• Ammunition is shipped by UPS/Purolator or Canpar, all other items are shipped by Canada Post. Flat rate shipping charges ($25.00 per order) are not valid to extended areas or remote locations as determined by Canada Post, UPS/Purolator or Canpar. In the event that the shipping address is deemed a extended area / remote location the customer will be contact with an adjusted total for the order to reflect the new shipping price.
• Transfer of ownership for restricted firearms (All Handguns and Firearms listed as Restricted) must have the transfer of Ownership approved by the RCMP before shipping. Transfer times will vary in length depending on your province (1-3 Weeks). Most provinces require proof of a gun range membership before they will approve the Transfer of Restricted Firearms. Some Provinces may require additional back ground checks (Transfers for Restricted Long Guns in Quebec can take up to 6 weeks to complete). It is the responsibility of the buyer to determine what additional requirements are needed to purchase a restricted firearm in their province.
• At this time we only ship within Canada.
• Please note that UPS/Purolator, Canpar and Canada Post are third party carriers. Northern Elite Firearms will not be held responsible for delays in shipping once an order is in transit. In the event that a order is lost or Damaged, the customer will process a claim and seek a refund or replacement item from the shipper. (The Timeline for a claim can take up to 21 Days). Statistically we have experienced a lost parcel (once in the hands of the carrier), approx 1 time for every 1200 orders. All claims of shortages or damage goods must be made within 7 days of delivery. Claims for damaged goods against Northern Elite Firearms can only be made if the packaging is undamaged. Any damaged packaging that caused the damage to the product must be dealt with the shipping company. Any insurance required by the customer must be obtained before shipping is done and is at the customers expense, it is the customers responsibility to request such insurance and Northern Elite Firearms will not ask if you want it.
• Packages that go missing in transit will not be refunded or replaced. Once the the shipping company (Canada Post, Canpar or UPS/Purolator) has been notified by the customer and completes a ticket with the shipping company and its investigation is done, the customer must deal and settle with the shipping company. If it has been determined the package lost was the fault of Northern Elite Firearms due to improper labeling. Northern Elite Firearms will look at replacing the product. Investigations can take up to 21 days to complete.
• Returns, Replacements and Cancellations
• Returns and exchanges can be made on most products (Subject to restocking fees outlined) provided they are returned in unused condition with original box (in Good condition) include all original contents.
• All Sales are Final. In the event that a item is defective, either through factory defect, damaged in transit or defective in function, The customer will need to contact customer service within 7 days to arrange replacement or repair (at the discretion of management). Defective Product must be returned to the store at the customers expense. The customer must make all necessary arrangements to return defective product including delivery of product to the correct return shipping company and arranging for the proper permits to transport restricted firearms to the return shipping company.
• Refunds can only be issued once the product has been properly returned to Northern Elite Firearms in the condition it was received. Refunds will only be issued either by Company Cheque EMT or by Crediting the original Credit Card (at the discretion of Management), the purchase prices (less restocking fees outlined). The refund will be issued within 14 Days of the defective product been returned. Refunds by Cheque will be sent by mail within 14 days of defective products return.
• After 7 Days the item only be repaired or replaced through approved warranty depot for the products Brand in Canada.
• Scopes and Optics (Laser sights, Spotting scopes ect.) can only be exchanged, repaired or replaced by the manufacture or an approved warranty depot.
• All returns are subject to a 20% restocking fee and less all actual shipping fees associated with the order (Return Shipping Charges Will not be Refunded).
• Returns of Restricted firearms are subject to an additional $10.00 for transfer fees per item.
• Any order that is refused at the receivers location will be treated as a return, and the return shipping will not be refunded. Customer must make all proper arrangements to receive product at their location. This may require the customer to be at home the day of delivery, and/or have the ability to pick up their order from a local post office or courier. Most delivery drivers will make at least one attempt to deliver a parcel. If the delivery driver is unable to deliver and obtain a signature at the shipping address, the package may be held at their local Depot for pick up and a notice will be left at the customers shipping address. If you have not received a Tracking number by email within 4 days of placing your order, please contact Customer service at 1(306)9812880 or northernelitefirearms.ca to obtain your tracking information.
• It is the responsibility of the buyer to ensure that they will be available to take delivery of their order. Packages that are not able to be signed for are held at the shippers location between up to 5 days before been returned to sender. If a package is not accepted and returned to the store, additional fees will apply to reship or refund.
• Exchanges my be subject to a flat $25 charge, less all actual shipping fees.
• Once an order is placed any cancellation is subject to a $25 administration fee. Cancellations must be made by calling 1(306)9812880 during regular store hours. If an order has already been charged at the time of cancellation, an additional 9% will be deducted from the refunded price to cover the credit card fees (4.5% to charge and 4.5% to refund)
• All returns must be authorized prior to being sent back
• If you would like to cancel an order that contains a restricted firearm, after the transfer has already been started, there may also be $15.00 transfer fee.IF

The BAR MK II Safari is the ultimate sporting autoloader, featuring the time-honored combination of fine walnut, a precision machined steel receiver and a hammer forged barrel. Classic in looks and contemporary in performance, the BAR MK II Safari is the hunting rifle that sets the standard for every other autoloader on the planet with accuracy, speed and a calibre selection unmatched by any other hunting semi-auto. This magnificent rifle will make autoloading enthusiasts out of the most skeptical riflemen.

The Browning BAR sporting version is certainly a distinct and separate rifle from the military BAR M1918, but its design is the result of the understanding and expertise that started with John M. Browning. His grandson, Bruce Browning, was the driving force behind today's BAR. A large team of automatic firearms experts at the FN factory in Belgium also played a key role in its development. This group of designers, lead by Marcel Olinger, began serious work on the project code named "Carbine 66," with full-scale development and testing done throughout 1966 in preparation for an official 1967 product launch. Both the history and the efficiency of this amazing rifle is unequaled among autoloading rifles.

At the heart of the Browning BAR® Mark II Safari Semi-Auto Rifle is a gas-operated system with a multi-lug rotary bolt capable of cycling standard or magnum cartridges reliably in extreme conditions. The bolt locks directly into the barrel, giving it incredible strength, while providing exceptional accuracy; and a buffering mechanism reduces wear and stress on the rifle's receiver for longer life and greater reliability. BAR barrels are hammer-forged for outstanding strength and precise accuracy. The BAR Mark II Safari model comes with a select, gloss-finished Turkish walnut buttstock and fore-end; a polymer butt-pad keeps you on target during successive shots. The steel receiver features scroll engraving, and comes drilled and tapped for scope mounts. A hinged floorplate provides rapid access to the detachable magazine. The crossbolt safety offers easy accessibility without removing your firing hand from the stock, so you can quickly manipulate the safety without losing your sight picture or cheek weld. Product Description

• Grade II Turkish walnut stock with fine oil finish, shim-adjustable for cast on/off and drop-at-comb • Gas-operated autoloader • Hammer-forged polished blued barrel • Satin-finish precision alloy receiver with enhanced engraving • Detachable box magazine

Classic in looks but contemporary in performance, the BAR MK 3 is built upon previous iterations of the original civilian BAR (“Browning® Automatic Rifle”), which set the standard for autoloading hunting rifles. With its accuracy and performance, it will make autoloading enthusiasts out of the most skeptical riflemen.

Mark 3 features include: aircraft-grade aluminum alloy receiver with satin nickel finish, and enhanced, high-relief engraving, drilled and tapped for scope mounts, strong multi-lug rotary bolt, composite trigger guard and floorplate, crossbolt safety, alloy receiver with matte nickel finish, chrome-plated chamber. Barrels with sporter contour are individually machined from hammer-forged, heat-treated steel, then polished. The detachable box magazine has a unique hinged floorplate.

Renowned for a long-standing tradition for achieving bolt-action -like accuracy thanks to high levels of precision and careful craftsmanship, the design is what really sets it apart: the BAR is a gas-operated autoloader centrefire rifle with an extra-strong, multiple-lug rotating bolt, which locks directly into the barrel. A lug bolt and precise breech-to-chamber relationship give the BAR exceptional accuracy and strength.

The Browning Safari is a really good Mauser clone. I wouldn’t be too worried about salt wood. The few rifles I’ve seen that had those stocks were easily fixed with a new stock and rarely a a bit of cosmetic type refinishing. It’s another product gremlin that has attained mythical status in the gun community. I’m sure there have been guns that were totally scrapped, but I have never seen one. By now, those guns are already in the scrap yard. Buy it and enjoy!

But the point it is, it was the treatment itself, not the species of wood. There is no California or Missouri "Salt wood".

Well no need to decide, it's gone.  

If you buy it ,keep the ,308 NM,they dont grow on trees,cases are easy to make ,and Norma make ammo for it , factory version of the wildcw .30-338 .

The only way to really confirm no saltwood is to pull the barreled action out of the stock to examine it. As a 1970 gun it could be either. I have owned 5 Browning Safari Grades 2 of which were saltwood guns. I sold those and still have the 3 others and they are superb rifles, the long extractor guns being the best. Be careful, look it over well.

I have had and still have several FN action's with the long claw, hard to beat this action for smooth feeding and just a general well finished feel. The boys and girls that put these together are from a different era, none of this cheap shit you can buy new today, these gun's are a steal on today's market I doubt if it is salty, if it who cares, not much damage in 54 years, it will outlast everyone of us on the forum  

7L is 1967 so the beginning of salt, could have a bit of salt but you never know till you test it, you can buy the solution from Midwest Gunworks I believe. I have a rebarreled 9.3x62 that is a 37xxx SN so it was before this gun, stock doesn't look salty, thanks for the clue

If it is saltwood, it's nothing compared to a Browning T2 T-Bolt I had. Red rust on the action and barrel at the stock line. Completely pitted the metal before I found it! I don't think you have to worry about that being saltwood.
