This travel agent, Ms Paugh, admitted that she failed to arrange our two transfers, leaving us stranded at a Rome airport upon arrival...VERY stressful! We luckily found an Uber to take us to our hotel. That night I emailed her about the event and she coldly replied that "transfers are not included." She was very self defensive and only begrudgingly refunded the $301 that we initially paid.

Small Groups of Just 12 to 24 Guests, Carefully Designed Itineraries, and an Appropriate Pace of Travel

Each of our tours is custom-designed specifically for small groups, with a balanced mix of traveling, sightseeing, cultural encounters, and free time. Most important, we limit our tour membership to just 12 to 24 guests, both for the freedom, flexibility, and camaraderie that small groups engender, and also so guests may enjoy a more personal and authentic travel experience. About Travel & Tours Unlimited

Travel & Tours Unlimited,  founded in 1998, serves many clients in the local community as well as clients in most of the states in the U.S. and several foreign countries including Canada, England and Italy.

We have established ourselves as an area expert on Walt Disney World Resort (Florida), Disney Cruise Line, Disneyland Resort (California), and Adventures by Disney vacations , specializing in family and group vacations. We are also recognized as specialists in cruises, Sandals and Beaches resorts , and many specific travel destinations.

In November 2013, we opened a new office in the Malcolm Professional Center on Malcolm Drive in Westminster, Maryland.  Our offices are located in Suite A of the Malcolm Professional Center where we meet clients by appointment.  We also opened a Travel Planning Center in Suite B where we host travel supplier presentations and other events.

Jerry Martz, Vice President and Co-owner of Travel & Tours Unlimited, Inc., is a CPA and spent over 30 years in private and public sector auditing and accounting. After retiring from his first career, he joined the company as a result of its rapid growth to provide accounting, marketing and administrative support. Jerry also shares a passion for travel and experiencing new destinations.

In July of 2008, Laurie was also appointed as a charter member of the Disney’s Travel Advisory Council . As a member of this Council, Laurie is one of twenty agency owners and managers, representing a cross section of agencies in the United States, that are in regular communication with Disney representatives to provide input and feedback on various business topics with a focus to improve the sales and marketing of Disney Destinations.

Travelers with Odysseys Unlimited are typically between the ages of 50 and 80 - and this age group is where they focus. Activities are generally not too physically demanding, accommodations are comfortable.  Most tours involve a lot of walking, with slight elevation changes.

Odyssey's does require that travelers be relatively physically fit and able. Wheelchair access is unfortunately not an option. 

Free time is readily available for those wanting to explore a bit on their own, going shopping or visiting more local areas.

This is adventure and thrills recalibrated for an older audience. You might not be exploring too far off the beaten path, but that doesn’t mean boring and static. Odysseys is for those older travelers who want an African safari, for example, that doesn't require the stamina of a 30 year old, yet are maybe unwilling or unable to spring for a luxury safari. 

Odysseys fits comfortably in the middle. Don’t expect full private access everywhere you go, but you can expect a dedicated guide and a fun group of travelers to enjoy the experience with.

Under 50 and families are welcome as well (no children under 15), but the mix in your group will definitely skew older.

Odysseys Unlimited tours travel around the world, making seemingly exotic far reaching locations accessible and reachable, both from a cultural standpoint as well as a logistical standpoint. Think small ship cruises in Patagonia, premium history tours in Egypt, and first class hotels in China.

A Variety of Accommodations

We know that hotels aren’t the main reason for traveling. But good accommodations can enhance your overall tour experience, and great accommodations can contribute to a great trip. So we select hotels that we believe are best for a particular trip and experience – those that offer the best combination of quality, value, and atmosphere for each destination. Our hotels in major cities are usually centrally located so guests can get around easier; our unique lodgings are often out of the way, offering our tour members a local ambiance larger groups never experience.

Our lodging options are divided into three segments:

Excellent Hotels

These are the Deluxe, Superior First Class, and First Class accommodations we use in major cities, including well-known chain hotels and independently owned properties. You can expect excellent service and amenities in these well-located properties.

Unique Lodgings Perhaps our most interesting lodgings, these properties cater to small groups and independent travelers, and generally are not available to conventional groups of 40 or more. From the historic  paradores  of Spain, to a French farmhouse, to a Japanese ryokan or a Tuscan villa, these accommodations often are destinations in themselves.

Small Ships We leave the mass-market big ship cruise experience to others, and instead focus on the smaller, more intimate ships that ply distinctive waterways. Q: How would you describe your tours?

A:  We design our tours specifically for small groups of just 12 to 24 guests, guaranteed, which enables us to move about with more flexibility and efficiency, enjoy more spontaneous encounters, and experience a degree of freedom and independence not available to travelers on conventional group tours of 40 or more. An experienced professional tour director accompanies the group throughout the tour. We see the highlights and go behind the scenes – as well as leave time for independent exploration.

Q: Where do your tours go?

A:  We offer a diverse array of tours and small ship cruises throughout the world, ranging in length from 10 days to three weeks: Europe on and off the beaten path; coastal, river, and private yacht cruises; adventures in Africa & the Middle East, and the Americas; discoveries in Asia & the Far East; far-reaching journeys to Antarctica and Australia & the South Pacific – all with unique features available only to small groups.

Q: Who is eligible to travel on your tours?

A:  Most of our travelers range between the ages of 50 and 80, though we often host those under 50. On occasion we receive requests from travelers who would like to travel with children or grandchildren. All travel companions must be at least 12 years of age.

We welcome all travelers, but request that you be in fairly good health to participate in an Odysseys Unlimited tour. All of our tours involve a reasonable amount of walking, often uphill or on uneven or cobblestone streets.  You must be able to get on and off motorcoaches on your own.  We regret that we cannot provide individual assistance; in such cases you must be accompanied by a companion who will assist you. Please note that our itineraries cannot accommodate wheelchairs.

Q:   Do you welcome single travelers on your small group tours?

A:  We absolutely welcome single travelers on our small group tours. On most of our tours you will find a combination of singles traveling alone, singles traveling together, and couples. Our experienced tour directors work to ensure single travelers feel comfortable and part of the group.

Q: What is the quality of the hotels that you use on your tours?

A:  We select hotels that we believe are the best for a particular trip and experience – those that offer guests the best combination of quality, value, and atmosphere for each destination. Our hotels in major cities are usually centrally located so guests can get around easier; our unique lodgings are often out of the way, offering our tour members a local ambiance larger groups never experience. Typically, our hotels include Deluxe, Superior First Class, and First Class properties.

Q: Do you offer a roommate matching program?

A: We do not have a roommate matching program as such, but we do enable interested guests to contact one another and determine whether they wish to share a room on tour.

Q: Do you allow guests to make their own air arrangements?

A:  If desired, guests may make their own air arrangements and book their tour as “land only” and receive a reduction in the tour price.

Q: Do you make special arrangements to meet guests’ dietary needs?

A:  We do make every effort to meet such dietary needs as vegetarian, low-salt, and the like; unfortunately, we are unable to provide Kosher meals. We send this information to our tour directors who work to the best of their ability with restaurants and hotels to accommodate dietary needs.

Q: What are your payment options?

A:  You can make your deposit and final payment by personal check or major credit card (VISA, Mastercard, American Express, Discover card).

Q: What happens if I have to cancel my reservation or if my tour is cancelled?

A:  You will receive a full refund for any cancellations made up to 95 days before departure (155 days for  Burgundy Barging ). If because of low participation Odysseys Unlimited cancels your tour, you will receive a complete refund of all payments you have made to us. Refunds for cancellations inside of 95 days (155 days for and  Burgundy Barging ) are subject to the per person charges.

Q: Do your tours require a passport or visa?

A:  A U.S. passport, with at least three blank pages (six blank pages if your tour requires a visa) and valid for at least six months after your return home, is required of all U.S. citizens on all of our tours. A visa is required for some tours. If your tour requires a visa, we will send the necessary information in the confirmation package you will receive upon reserving your tour. If you are not a U.S. citizen, please contact your embassy or a visa service for information about required travel documents.

Q: Do you offer Travel Protection?

A:  Yes. Odysseys Unlimited makes available an Optional Travel Protection Plan through Trip Mate. We recommend that you protect yourself and your investment in the event you may have to cancel or interrupt your vacation. This plan may provide an extra measure of comfort and security by offering the following coverages and services:

A:  Yes. After your first tour with us, you will save $100 per person off the published brochure price of your next Odysseys Unlimited tour; $200 per person after your third tour; and $300 per person after 10 tours. You may use this frequent traveler credit as many times as you would like. Q: What information do I need in-hand when I call an Odysseys Unlimited Travel Counselor to reserve a tour?

A:  In order to make a reservation, we require a deposit of $375 per person.
