Jon Rahm and Rory McIlroy pose with their trophies after the end of the DP World Tour Championship. Rahm claimed the tournament title while McIlroy won the season-long points race.

To say Jon Rahm loves playing the DP World Tour Championship on the Earth Course at Jumeirah Golf Estates would be the understatement of understatements. The 28-year-old Spaniard had two wins and a T-4 showing in his three previous starts in the Old World circuit’s season finale, posting a scoring average of 67.66.

It was more of the same this week, as Rahm followed up an opening-round 70 with a 66-65-67 finish to take the tournament title for a third time, outpacing Tyrrell Hatton and Alex Noren by two shots. In the process, he lowered that career scoring average to 67.5.

It was Rahm’s ninth career DP World Tour victory and fifth win in the tour’s elevated Rolex Series events. With the triumph, Rahm claimed the $3 million first-place prize money payout (€2,891,271) from the overall purse of $10 million. He also saw his career earnings on the DP World Tour rise to €21,834,859.52, the 19th player in tour history to break the €20 million mark.

There was another winner on Sunday as well as Rory McIlroy, while finishing four strokes back of Rahm in solo fourth place, earned the DP World Tour’s Harry Vardon Trophy as the season-long points title winner . It’s the third time McIlroy has won the honor, but the first in a season in which he also won the PGA Tour’s FedEx Cup title.

The DP World Tour Championship is back for its 15th edition and is set to conclude the season-long Race to Dubai at the Earth Course of Jumeirah Golf Estates. This year, the winner of the Race to Dubai has already been confirmed – Rory McIlroy claimed the Harry Vardon trophy a week early after another successful season on the Tour that included victories in the Dubai Desert Classic and Genesis Scottish Open.

While the prize money for topping the standings is yet to be confirmed, the victor for the last four years has picked up $2m from the Race to Dubai bonus pool of $5m. Last year, Jon Rahm beat Tyrrell Hatton and Alex Noren by two shots to claim the DP World Tour Championship title for the third time and a $3m windfall from the $10m purse, which has since increased to $10.5m this year.

The event has the largest prize fund of any DP World Tour event and $1.5m more than the other four Rolex Series events over the season. The purse is also $2.1m more than that being offered by the PGA Tour’s RSM Classic this week, highlighting its position as one of the biggest tournaments in the calendar. The winner will receive $3,000,000, and the runner-up will get $1,275,000, making for a considerable payday for golfers at the top.

The 50-man field includes big names such as Rory McIlroy, 2022 US Open champion Matt Fitzpatrick, Tommy Fleetwood, Viktor Hovland, and Shane Lowry. Some players in the field also have their sights set on a PGA Tour card, as those who finish in the top 10 of the Race to Dubai standings will claim 2024 PGA Tour exemptions.

The event is held at the Greg Norman-designed Earth Course, which has been the tournament’s home since it opened in 2009. The course takes inspiration from the parkland courses of Europe and the USA and provides a challenging yet scenic backdrop for the championship. Like most other DP World Tour events, the action takes place over four rounds of stroke play.

Fans and players alike can expect an exciting conclusion to the season-long Race to Dubai at the DP World Tour Championship, with plenty of top names vying for the top spots and a chance to claim a sizable portion of the prize money.

He tops the DP World Tour Rankings going into the DP World Tour Championship at the Earth Course in Dubai and is battling to fend off the likes of Ryan Fox and Matt Fitzpatrick.

The 2021/22 DP World Tour season draws to a close with the DP World Tour Championship at the Earth Course at Jumeirah Golf Estates in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

The top 50 players in the DP World Tour Rankings are eligible for the tournament. However, one player who won’t be making the trip to Dubai is reigning champion Collin Morikawa . The American's win also saw him finish top of the DP World Tour Rankings in 2021, but he misses out due to personal commitments this year.

Nevertheless, some of the biggest names in the game will be competing for the title. One player to pay particularly close attention to will be Matt Fitzpatrick . The US Open champion – who, along with Jon Rahm, was awarded Honorary Life Membership to the DP World Tour before the tournament - was runner-up to Morikawa last year along with Swede Alexander Bjork. However, Fitzpatrick is also one of four players to win the tournament twice, having clinched the title in 2020 and 2016.

Another of those players is Rory McIlroy . The current World No.1 won the tournament in 2012 and 2015 and will be confident of clinching a hat-trick of wins. If he manages that this week, he will also guarantee finishing top of the DP World Tour Rankings for the fourth time.

Tommy Fleetwood defended his title in last week’s Nedbank Golf Challenge at the Gary Player Country Club in South Africa. He will hope to take that momentum into this week’s tournament. Meanwhile, Viktor Hovland will also expect to deliver a strong performance in a city where he has enjoyed relatively recent success. The Norwegian won the Slync.io Dubai Desert Classic at the start of the year, albeit at a different venue, the Emirates Golf Club.

As well as McIlroy, Fitzpatrick, Fleetwood and Hovland, three other players in the field are in the running to finish top of the DP World Tour Rankings. One of those is New Zealander Ryan Fox, who is currently placed second. Irishman Shane Lowry , currently eighth, can also finish top, as can ninth-placed Adrian Meronkof Poland. There are several scenarios where Fox could finish at the top of the pack. However, like McIlroy, the only way to keep the outcome in his hands is to win the tournament.

One player who is not in the running to finish top of the rankings but will be confident of success this week is Rahm. The Spaniard, who spoke before the tournament about the lack of Official World Golf Ranking points afforded to it relative to this week’s RSM Classic on the PGA Tour, won the tournament in 2017 and 2019.

As the last of the season’s DP World Tour Rolex series tournaments, there is an elevated prize purse of $10 million. To finish higher up the prize list, players will need to get to grips with the Greg Norman-designed course, which takes inspiration from the parkland courses of the USA and Europe, and features a final four holes that Norman once described as “the most difficult mile in golf.” That closing stretch will almost certainly offer a fitting finale to the DP World Tour season. Whoever comes out on top will win $3m.

Where Is The DP World Tour Championship Held?

The DP World Tour Championship is held at the Greg Norman Earth Course, which is part of Dubai's Jumeirah Golf Estates. The course, which has held the tournament since it opened in 2009, is inspired by the parkland courses of Europe and the USA.

How Does The DP World Tour Championship Work?

The top 50 players in the DP World Tour Rankings are eligible for the season-closing DP World Tour Championship. It has been held since 2009 and replaced the Volvo Masters, which involved the top 60 money winners on the Order of Merit. Like most other DP World Tour events, the action takes place over four rounds of stroke play.

Porsche Singapore Classic Prize Money Payout 2024

A fter a week’s pause, the DP World Tour resumes with the first event of the Asian Swing phase of the season, the Porsche Singapore Classic, whose new title sponsor signed a multi-year deal in January.

Players will be competing for the highest prize money payout since February’s Magical Kenya Open at Laguna National Golf Resort Club - $2.5m, which is a $500,000 increase on the 2023 tournament.

Last year, South African Ockie Strydom picked up his second DP World Tour title in two months at the event when he beat Sami Valimaki by one shot. That handed him prize money of $340,000, and this year’s winner is in line for a $425,000 windfall.

As well as the prize money payout at the tournament, there is also a separate competition to see who finishes top of the Asian Swing section, where the winner will earn a further $200,000. The swing champion will also qualify for the season's Back 9 events, which begins in August with the Betfred British Masters.

The Asian Swing is also the third of five sections in the Global Swing stage of the season. Once the Global Swing concludes with August’s Danish Golf Championship,  a further $1m will then be shared amongst the leading ten players on the Race to Dubai with a minimum of eight Global Swing appearances.

Porsche’s involvement at the tournament also means there’s plenty for fans to enjoy at this week’s event away from the main action, including a Spectator Village and the opportunity to win various prizes – including a Porsche Panamera Turbo E-Hybrid. Fans can also get a photo at the event’s official welcome backdrop, where a Porsche Art Car will be displayed.

There is also the Porsche Panamera Shootout Qualifier, a twist on Closest to the Pin. The top three qualifiers will have the chance to join the Porsche Panamera Shootout finals on Sunday after the end of play, and the first to make an ace on the 17th hole of the Classic Course wins the Porsche Panamera Turbo E-Hybrid.

Other highlights include Par-Tee Time, a timed game where participants balance 18 balls on 18 tees, the Birdie Blitz Rewards claw machine, Leadbetter Golf Academy Kids Putting Challenge, and the Choose Your Man interactive display map for fans to show support for their favourite players at the tournament.

Below is the prize money payout for the 2024 Porsche Singapore Classic.

Who Are The Star Names In The Porsche Singapore Classic?

One of the standout names in the field is LIV Golf’s Paul Casey, who is making his first DP World Tour appearance for over two years .

Casey is appearing on a sponsor’s invite as he has an association with Porsche going back to the 2020 US Open, when he became an ambassador for the brand and began carrying the logo on his bag. The 46-year-old also describes himself as a “Porsche fan” in his Instagram bio.

Casey took the 2019 Porsche European Open title among his 15 DP World Tour wins, the most recent of which came at the 2021 Dubai Desert Classic.

Another big name in the field is Shane Lowry. The 2019 Open champion is making his debut at the event a week after finishing T19 at The Players Championship .

Other notable names to look out for include defending champion Ockie Strydom, Commercial Bank Qatar Masters champion Rikuya Hoshino, and Matthieu Pavon, who won the PGA Tour’s Farmers Insurance Open in January.

There are also appearances from four-time DP World Tour winner Rasmus Hojgaard, 2023 Porsche European Open champion Tom McKibbin and 2022 Mallorca Golf Open winner Yannik Paul.

Where Is The Porsche Singapore Classic Being Played?

The tournament is being held at Laguna National Golf Resort Club’s Classic Course. The hilly course has almost 150 bunkers and is regarded as one of the most challenging in Asia.

How Much Money Is On Offer At The Porsche Singapore Classic?

Players are competing for a purse of $2.5m, which is an increase of $500,000 over the 2023 edition. The winner will receive $425,500, while the runner-up with earn $275,000.

Paul Casey is playing his first DP World Tour event for more than two years

2024 Players Championship money: Purse, payout breakdown, winner’s share

Xander Schauffele holds a one-shot lead heading into the final round at TPC Sawgrass.

Getty Images

Xander Schauffele’s resume includes an Olympic gold medal, Tour Championship title and WGC victory. On Sunday at TPC Sawgrass, though, he has a chance to add a victory that would top them all.

After a flawless third-round 65, Schauffele holds a one-stroke lead heading into the final round at the 2024 Players Championship. With a win he’d not only add a win at the PGA Tour’s premier event, but also earn himself the hefty $4.5 million first-place prize.

To get his hands on the trophy, he’ll have to hold off a series of challengers featuring some of the Tour’s best. Men’s golf’s two most recent major winners — Brian Harman and Wyndham Clark — are each within two strokes of Schauffele, while major winners Matt Fitzpatrick and Scottie Scheffler remain in chase as well.

Check out below for an entire purse breakdown for the 2024 Players Championship.

2024 Players Championship purse, prize money: Payout, Scottie Scheffler's winner's share from $25 million pool

Big stakes and big money were on the line this week at the pga tour's flagship event.

players-championship-trophy-g.jpg

The 2024 Players Championship represents the biggest non-major tournament on the PGA Tour schedule, and as such, it appropriately offers the biggest purse. With an event of this magnitude, it is only right the payday matches the stakes as a total of $25 million will be up for grabs this week at TPC Sawgrass.

The largest prize pool of the season, the purse at the Players Championship also shelled out the largest winner's check of the young year: $4.5 million. It marks the second straight season that this structure will be in place, and Scottie Scheffler has claimed both winner's shares as he became the first golfer to go back-to-back at The Players Championship  with a come-from-behind victory on Sunday.

In fact, Scheffler has collected $8.5 million for just 14 days of work over the last two weeks thanks to his $4 million winner's check from the Arnold Palmer Invitational, a signature PGA Tour event, last week. Certainly good work if you can get it.

Each of the top 35 finishers at The Players Championship collected six-figure sums with those inside the top 13 cashing more than $500,000 and those inside the top five clearing $1 million. While only Scheffler raised trophy at week's end, the Players champion was hardly be the only winner at the PGA Tour's flagship event.

Let's take a look at the payout list for the 2024 Players Championship for the top 65 players who make the weekend at TPC Sawgrass.
