My wife and I just returned from a fantastic safari with Mama Savana! We had put down our deposit well over a year ago, but postponed due to COVID. Alex communicated with me over WhatsApp and email to alleviate any concerns I had. He was so good to answer all of our questions about the safari and working with me to select the best accommodations for our budget. And he arranged for our balloon ride over the Serengeti. Everything was perfect! Our guide, Joseph Temu, was awesome. He is very friendly and a delight to be with, which is important when you spend six long days driving on rough roads in Tanzania. He is very knowledgeable about all the animals and local culture. The interesting details he shared richly enhanced our experience. He was sensitive to and flexible regarding how much time we wanted to spend viewing each animal. He could spot them when we could see nothing. We saw SO many animals. Joseph was great at communicating with the other guides on radio to get us to the right spots to see amazing wildlife. We saw the wildebeest cross the Mara River, a lion stalking a gazelle, a pair of leopards came right up to our vehicle, a heard of elephants surrounded us, and saw giraffes, zebras, hippos, lions, antelope, crocs, rhinos, lots of birds... you name it. Just amazing. On the drive back to Arusha Joseph drove us through a local auction day market. We are very glad we went with Mama Savana on our once-in-a-lifetime amazing safari.

Deciding to do this tour with Mama Savana was the best decision we could have made. Going on a Safari through the Serengeti was always on me and wifes bucket list so we decided to go as part of our honeymoon. We reached out to a few companies but Mama Savana seemed to have the best itineraries, accomodations and reviews. We reached out to Mama Savana and was in contact with Alex, the owner to plan it out. Alex was very responsive and usually got back to us within minutes with answers. We told him what we wanted to see (particularly the wildebeest migration crossing) and he designed the tour and the itinerary to best fit that. After a long flight we arrived in Arusha and Alex (owner) and Joe (our tour guide) was there waiting for us with flowers for my wife and one of the wheel covers in the back of the car that said "just married", it was a great start. Joe, our tour guide, was amazing and by the end we felt like he was our close friend. He was very helpful, extremely knowledgeable and has a hawk-eye in spotting the animals...he didn't miss anything and he helped us see all the animals we wanted, including the wildebeest crossing. As far as accomodations, we decided to spend a little extra to stay at the luxury lodges and they were also great, all five star lodges and resorts. At the end of the tour Alex met us at the airport with a bottle of wine and we celebrated our marriage with them before getting on the plane. I could go on for a while praising this company but I think you get the idea. I highly recommend planning the safari with Mama Savana and if you do, definitely request Joe as your tour guide, he's the best. The trip was definitely one of the best times of our lives.

Booking a trip to Tanzania can be overwhelming with all the tour company options. But look no further, booking mama Savana was the best decision we made. From the moment I inquired about the trip, Alex texted me. He answered all my questions and adjusted the itinerary and our accommodations to fit what we were looking for. He was so responsive. One day before our trip Qatar airways cancelled our flight! I panic text Alex and he immediately Re-arranged our tour to go along with the next flight. He even booked a local flight for us because Qatar was no longer flying us to JRO as originally planned. It made what would’ve been a nightmare problem, a breeze. From the moment we got off the plane both Alex and Joe greeted us. They brought us flowers and customized their jeep to welcome us. JOE WAS THE MOST AMAZING GUIDE EVER! Wow that eye on him. He would stop the car and be like “look right” and here we are grabbing binoculars and he had already spotted a leopard or a lion so far back. He didn’t miss a single animal! I have no idea how he could spot all those animals so easily. Also thanks to Joe and his amazing patience, we got to see the Wildebeest cross the Mara Mara river! WOW it was the most incredible thing I’ve ever witnessed. Then he spotted a lion feasting and said “do you mind if we get closer.” He took us off path and we then found ourselves 4 feet away from a lion eating a gazelle. I have selfies with this lion. It’s amazing. What a thrilling experience. He is the best guide, best animal spotter, and a very knowledgeable and sweet guide. we actually enjoyed those fun facts he shared. This safari exceeded all my expectations, I am still on cloud 9 thinking of everything we experienced. The accommodations were also amazing!!! The staff at the hotels went above and beyond for us. I have absolutely no complaints! Everything went so smoothly.

I found Mama Savana through google, and at first I was not sure if the company is legit. however, Alex was very quick to response and he is super friendly. i decided to booked a 6 day safaris + beach through Mama Savana, I hesitated a little bit because they asked me to wired the deposit to them but at the end i did it anyway even though I was not sure about the quality of the company. After a long flight, Haruni, my tour guide, was waiting for us outside of the airport. Haruni is a super nice guy, but he was a bit quiet at first. He doesn't talk too much as other tour guide I encountered, but he is so knowledgable. His skills on safari amazed me. for instance, he was driving and suddenly stopped the car, he said: "there is lion over there," i was like "where? he pointed at the bush and said behind the bush, the lion is hunting; I finally spotted the lion after I zoomed in my 300mm lens camera. how in the world did he do that!? I can tell it's not a job to Haruni, but he really loves what he does. He even asked if we want to have lunch in the car instead of driving to the picnic area because he heard there are Rhinos spotted nearby. We did what any tourists should have done, came searching for Rhino on our lunch time, and we did completed the safari big 5 on that day. how wonderful! Again, Haruni is the best at what he does; calm, full of knowledge, and willing to go the extra miles just to make our day best as it can get. Mama Savana also did a great job on booking our stay at the lodges and tents. the lodges are beautiful, friendly, and way better than we expected. I will do a separate review on the lodge we stayed for them. if you are looking a safari trip, I truly/greatly recommend Mama Savana. just give them your schedule and they will make your trip to be a great lifetime memory. I am so happy that i found Mama Savana. PS. Tanzania is a very lovely country and it's Covid-free. nobody wears mask and they live their normal lives. You don't have to worry anything about Covid-19.

Mama Savana is a very professional company. Alex is very reactive and flexible in the planning of the custom made safari (Always good proposal), especially in this covid period ! Our guide Allen was very experienced and friendly during the safari. He knows where to go and when to see the animals. We learned a lot with him ! Besides we also booked hotel and excursion in Zanzibar with mama Savana and everything went well too.

We decided to go for a Safari with Mama Savana in March. Without hesitation we can admit it was the best decision we could make. During organisation we had great contact with very kind owner, Alex. He gave us all vital details and was very flexible while arranging our trip. He arranged airport pick ups and hotels before and after Safari. During our Safari we were guided by Alen. The real Safari master and magician. He's very experienced, smart with great sense of humour. During 6 days together he became our good friend. With his experience and huge knowledge of the nature he took us to wonderful places showing much more than we could expect. We can honestly recommend Mama Savana Safaris. Thanks to them we had magical trip and lifetime experience!
