Westlife announce the tour at the Aviva stadium, Dublin

Who are the support acts?

The support acts differ by location – if you’re lucky enough to go to more than one show you may get to see different special guests!

  • Cardiff Castle: Irish singer Lyra and British singer/songwriter Lucien Moon are special guests
  • Henley festival: Westlife are headlining the ‘Floating Stage’ but no other support acts have been announced yet

What can we expect from shows on Westlife’s latest tour?

Expect an impressive show, with a few costume changes, plus pyrotechnics, confetti cannons (at stadium gigs at least), and some Beyonce-inspired dance moves!

Westlife performed two shows at Dublin’s Croke Park stadium on The Twenty Tour in 2019 which featured impressive stage effects by the designers of the famous Cirque du Soleil in Las Vegas, and the Wild Dreams Tour does not disappoint.

Westlife promise a ‘spectacular’ show:

“We’re over the moon to announce we’re going to be playing Páirc Uí Chaoimh in Cork for the first time ever next year! We can’t wait to bring this show to Ireland which will be more spectacular than anything we’ve ever done before. Headlining Páirc Uí Chaoimh for the first time ever is a dream come true for all of us.” Source – Irish Mirror

What’s the setlist for the Westlife tour in 2023 and 2024?

The tour promises “All the hits” and includes some of Westlife’s greatest hits from through the years. The setlist at Westlife’s Hop Farm show on 1 July 2022 was as follows – this may not represent the setlist for all dates of the tour but gives an idea of the range of songs the guys will be performing:

  • Uptown Girl
  • When You’re Looking Like That
  • If I Let You Go
  • Swear it Again
  • ABBA Medley (Mamma Mia, Gimme Gimme Gimme, Super Trouper, Money Money Money, Take a Chance on Me, I Have a Dream, Dancing Queen, Thank You for the Music, Waterloo)
  • What About Now
  • What Makes a Man
  • World of Our Own
  • Flying Without Wings
  • Hello My Love
  • You Raise me Up

Possible additions to the setlist for later dates are Unbreakable , Queen of My Heart , and I’m Already There . There is a rumour that the 2023 tour dates may have a slightly different set list, we’ll update here as and when we know!

Wild Dreams Tour setlist

What time will Westlife come on stage?

Timings are likely to vary for different venues, but for previous Dublin Aviva Stadium gigs timings were as follows:

6pm Doors open 6.30pm First support act 7.30pm Second support act 8.30pm Westlife on stage

Times may differ for shows at other locations – for example Westlife are expected to be on stage at the Henley Festival at 8.45pm. Please check with the venue for timings if you are going to a show!

Will there be a recording or a DVD available of the shows?

We reckon that it’s pretty likely that the Wembley Stadium show will be made available for download or purchase at a later date, but it hasn’t been confirmed yet – as soon as we know we’ll post details here.

Live at Croke Park DVD

Westlife’s Twenty Tour DVD

A DVD and bluray of Westlife’s previous tour was released in March 2020, titled ‘Westlife: The Twenty Tour Live from Croke Park’.

The DVD was filmed at Westlife’s homecoming gig at Croke Park in Dublin on 6 July 2019. A camera crew followed Westlife backstage, for some behind-the scenes documentary style clips. The DVD release also includes a live CD.

Twenty Tour DVD – £14.48 (Amazon UK*) The Twenty Tour DVD is also available from hive.co.uk*

What about dates in other countries?

No additional dates have been announced yet, however we know that the guys consider the Wild Dreams Tour as a ‘world tour’. Shane previously said that the Dublin show on 8 July 2022 was “going to be the start of our world tour” (Source: @Kev_OMahony ) although we do know that Machaca festival is described as the band’s only show in México (Source: @MachacaFestival ).

Kian previously reassured fans that the guys intend to tour more widely:

“To all our fans who feel disappointed that their country or city isn’t in the first dates please do know this. We intend to reach every city in the world that has a hunger to see Westlife live!” Source – @KianEganWL

Shane said in 2019 that Westlife hope to tour in Germany :

“Next year we’re hoping to come to Germany… Germany’s definitely part of our plans for next year. We really want to come back and play the big cities, and come back and see our German fans” Source – Golden Kamera interview , March 2019

Kian also mentioned in an interview with Warner Music Korea that the guys are hoping to return to Korea soon:

“As far as we’re concerned, we would love nothing more than to come back to Korea and perform for you guys, it’s very much on our list of countries that we want to get to, so stay tuned and hopefully we can get there next year.” source – warner music korea , november 2021

South America, Australia and New Zealand have also been mentioned as possible destinations for a world tour, but Westlife haven’t confirmed any more international tour dates yet. As soon as we know any further, we’ll add details to this page!

We’ll add more tour news to this page as and when we receive it, so check back for updates, subscribe to our mailing list .

Men’s March Madness bracket recap: Full NCAA bracket, schedule, more

Men’s college basketball launches fully into March Madness 2024 as the 68-team field for the NCAA Tournament was announced on the Selection Sunday .

UConn, which won the national championship last year, will enter the tournament with an even bigger target as the No. 1 overall seed. The Huskies will play in the East Regional, and they are joined as a top seed by Houston in the South, Purdue in the Midwest and North Carolina in the West.

NCAA bracket West Region: Predictions

Michigan State coach Tom Izzo leads the Spartans to a 25th consecutive appearance in the NCAA Tournament; Arizona's Caleb Love potentially is on a collision course with his former team, North Carolina.

IT'S BRACKET MADNESS: Enter USA TODAY's NCAA tournament bracket contest for a chance at $1 million prize.

But the real miracle in the West Region involves Grand Canyon’s Tyon Grant-Foster, who almost two years ago collapsed at halftime of a DePaul game after suffering a cardiac arrest.

5 simple tips and predictions: 38 years of history can help you set up your NCAA tournament bracket

NCAA bracket Midwest Region: Predictions

If the seeds were to hold form, the Midwest Region final would match Purdue, which hasn’t been to the Final Four since 1980, against Tennessee, which hasn’t been to the Final Four ever.

Now, the question is whether either of those teams will actually get to the region final.

Read Steve Berkowitz's predictions for the Midwest Region.

NCAA bracket East Region: Predictions

UConn will try to defend its national championship coming out of the East Region, where the stiffest competition should come from  No. 2 Iowa State , the Big 12 tournament champion; No. 3 Illinois, the second-place team from the Big Ten; and  No. 4 Auburn , winners of the SEC tournament.

Read Paul Myerberg's predictions for the East Region.

NCAA bracket South Region: Predictions

There’s a whole lot of history in the  South Region of the NCAA men's tournament , which features six teams with NCAA championship banners hanging in their home arenas and a couple more with recent Final Four visits.

NIT tournament 2024

There are only 68 sports for the NCAA tournament, so that means some programs will inevitably be snubbed.

For those that miss the Big Dance, there is always the National Invitation Tournament, better known as the NIT.

The tournament will begin Tuesday with the first round and conclude with the championship game on April 4.

See who made it, who declined invites and when the games will be played .

Teams declining NIT invitation

Now that the field of 68 for the NCAA Tournament has been announced, some teams on the outside looking in have already decided not to play in the NIT:

UConn back at No. 1 in USA TODAY Sports poll

For the Connecticut Huskies, this has already been a history-making season in a number of respects. But while some history is with them, some is going against them as they embark on their bid for a rare repeat as men’s college basketball champions.

For what it’s worth, they’ll enter the NCAA tournament as the No. 1 team in the USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll. UConn was the unanimous first choice by the 32 voters after being the lone projected top regional seed to claim its conference tournament title.

Greg Gumbel health

As the 2024  men's NCAA Tournament kicks off,  a familiar face in  March Madness  coverage will be missing.

CBS studio host Greg Gumbel will not be part of this year's coverage because of "family health issues," the network announced Sunday, just before the bracket reveal. Taking over his duties will be Adam Zucker. The rest of the crew – Clark Kellogg, Jay Wright and Seth Davis – all wished Gumbel and his family well before the bracket was announced. — Jordan Mendoza

March Madness bracket winners and losers

  • North Carolina — Despite being the weakest of the four top seeds, the Tar Heels are in what looks on paper to be the easiest region.
  • Kansas — The Jayhawks lost eight games in conference play and their 22 wins are the program's fewest in the regular season under Bill Self since his debut year in 2003-04. But they're still a No. 4 seed.
  • Virginia — The facts didn't seem to support a bid for the Cavaliers, but here we are anyway: Virginia is a No. 10 seed in one of the play-in games opposite Colorado State.
  • Iowa State — The Cyclones were in late contention for a No. 1 seed, but instead they are a No. 2 in a region with UConn, Illinois and Auburn.
  • Big East — The Big East sent just three teams into tournament play in the Huskies, South Region No. 2 Marquette and Midwest Region No. 3 Creighton, leaving bubble teams such as St. John's, Providence and Seton Hall on the outside of the field.

Read Paul Myerberg's winners and losers and his reasons why .

March Madness teams most likely to end Final Four droughts

Here’s a fun fact about the  NCAA men’s basketball tournament:  South Carolina has been to the  Final Four  more recently than Kentucky.

There are more. There’s never been a time in the history of college basketball where being a blue blood has meant less in terms of  March Madness  success.

This year, it seems likely that at least one or more of those historically prominent programs will quench their thirst and find a way to Phoenix. Here are the eight schools most likely to break their Final Four-less streaks, ranked by the amount of heartbreak they’ve endured in pursuit of it.

Dan Wolken's list of teams most likely to end their droughts is ranked by heartbreak .

Which teams are in the men's First Four?

All games are on truTV .

  • Tuesday, March 19, 6:40 p.m. ET: Wagner (16-15) vs. Howard (18-16) for the No. 16 seed in the West. The winner will face No. 1 North Carolina on Thursday, March 21.
  • Tuesday, March 19, 9:10 p.m. ET: Colorado State (24-10) vs. Virginia (23-10) for the No. 10 seed in the Midwest. The winner will face No. 7 Texas on Thursday, March 21.
  • Wednesday, March 20, 6:40 p.m. ET: Grambling State (20-14) vs. Montana State (17-17) for the No. 16 seed in the Midwest. The winner will face No. 1 Purdue on Friday, March 22.
  • Wednesday, March 20, 9:10 p.m. ET: Colorado (24-10) vs. Boise State (22-10) for the No. 10 seed in the South. The winner will face No. 7 Florida on Friday, March 22.

West Region bracket: North Carolina earns last No. 1 seed

All three contenders for the final No. 1 seed all lost in their conference tournament but the Tar Heels benefit from reaching the ACC tournament title game while Tennessee and Arizona flamed out before the final. Arizona still stays in the west and has a nice path to the Final Four. Baylor also could be primed for a run along with Alabama. Both score but lack defense. This is a very balanced group of top seeds but not the toughest grouping. Potential for some upsets along the way.

Thursday in Charlotte

No. 1 North Carolina vs. No. 16 Howard/Wagner, 2:45 p.m. ET on CBS

No. 8 Mississippi State vs. No. 9 Michigan State, 12:15 p.m. ET on CBS

Friday in Spokane

No. 4 Alabama vs. No. 13 College of Charleston, 7:35 p.m. ET on truTV

No. 5 Saint Mary's vs. No. 12 Grand Canyon, 10:05 p.m. ET on truTV

Friday in Memphis

No. 3 Baylor vs. No. 14 Colgate, 12:40 p.m. ET on truTV

No. 6 Clemson vs. No. 11 New Mexico, 3:10 p.m. ET on truTV

Thursday in Salt Lake City

No. 2 Arizona vs. No. 15 Long Beach State, 2 p.m. ET on TBS

No. 7 Dayton vs. No. 10 Nevada, 4:30 p.m. ET on TBS

Midwest Region bracket: Purdue at No. 1

It's now or never for Purdue after so many tournament disappointments and the Boilermakers could face Tennessee – another team that has flamed out early – in the regional final. Before that game, Vols coach Rick Barnes could be matched with former school Texas in the second round. Gonzaga surprisingly gets a No. 5 seed. Big boost for the Bulldogs, which could be matched with a struggling Kansas team in the second round. Virginia is a big surprise addition in the play-in game. Cavaliers seemingly were outside the bubble. Colorado State joins Boise State as Mountain West teams in the play-in games. Committee clearly didn't value a league that had six teams in top 40 of NET.

Friday in Indianapolis

No. 1 Purdue vs. No. 16 Montana State/Grambling, 7:25 p.m. ET on TBS

No. 8 Utah State vs. No. 9 TCU, 9:55 p.m. ET on TBS

No. 5 Gonzaga vs. No. 12 McNeese State, 7:25 p.m. ET on TBS

No. 4 Kansas vs. No. 13 Samford, 9:55 p.m. ET on TBS

Thursday in Pittsburgh

No. 3 Creighton vs. No. 14 Akron, 1:30 p.m. ET on TNT

No. 6 South Carolina vs. No. 11 Oregon, 4 p.m. ET on TNT

No. 7 Texas vs. No. 10 Virginia/Colorado State, 6:50 p.m. ET on TNT

No. 2 Tennessee vs. No. 15 Saint Peter's, 9:20 p.m. ET on TNT

South Regional bracket: Houston leads pairings

Houston was the No. 1 team in the country before its blowout loss to Iowa State in the Big 12 championship game, but the Cougars still look to be the favorites. However, there will be some challengers with Marquette, Duke and Kentucky in this regional. The Golden Eagles need standout guard Tyler Kolek to be healthy. It'll be worth watching if North Carolina State keeps its unlikely run going after five wins in the ACC tournament and a tough opener against Texas Tech. Boise State and Colorado at No. 10 seed play-in game shows the strength of the bubble and how some teams expected in might be left out.

No. 8 Nebraska vs. No. 9 Texas A&M, 6:50 p.m. ET on TNT

No. 1 Houston vs. No. 16 Longwood, 9:20 p.m. ET on TNT

Friday in Brooklyn

No. 4 Duke vs. No. 13 Vermont, 7:10 p.m. ET on CBS

No. 5 Wisconsin vs. No. 12 James Madison, 9:40 p.m. ET on CBS

No. 3 Kentucky vs. No. 14 Oakland, 7:10 p.m. ET on CBS

No. 6 Texas Tech vs. No. 11 North Carolina State, 9:40 p.m. ET on CBS

No. 2 Marquette vs. No. 15 Western Kentucky, 2 p.m. ET on TBS

No. 7 Florida vs. No. 10 Boise State/Colorado, 4:30 p.m. ET on TBS

East Regional bracket: It's Connecticut at the top of the pairings

Connecticut gets the No. 1 overall seed as expected and gets to stay near home in Brooklyn. The Huskies could face Florida Atlantic – a Final Four team last year that won its way to Houston with two victories in New York last year. Illinois and Iowa State are the Nos. 2 and 3 seeds and both could be major threats. Two contrasting teams there with the Illini one of the top scoring offenses and the Cyclones having an outstanding defense. Auburn is another threat after rolling through the SEC tournament and San Diego State reached the title game last year. Whichever team makes it out the regional will have earned it.

No. 8 Florida Atlantic vs. No. 9 Northwestern, 12:15 p.m. ET on CBS

No. 1 Connecticut vs. No. 16 Stetson, 2:45 p.m. ET on CBS

No. 5 San Diego State vs. No. 12 Alabama-Birmingham, 1:45 p.m. ET on TNT

No. 4 Auburn vs. No. 13 Yale, 4:15 p.m. ET on TNT

Thursday in Omaha

No. 6 Brigham Young vs. No. 11 Duquesne, 12:40 p.m. ET on truTV

No. 3 Illinois vs. No. 14 Morehead State, 3:10 p.m. ET on truTV

No. 2 Iowa State vs. No. 15 South Dakota State, 7:35 p.m. ET on truTV

No. 7 Washington State vs. No. 10 Drake, 10:05 p.m. ET on truTV

Tennessee vs. St. Peter's features half brothers facing off

When No. 2 Tennessee takes on No. 15 St. Peter’s on Thursday, the Zeigler family will have a decision to make. Root for Zakai Zeigler and the Volunteers, or root for his half-brother Armoni, who plays for the Peacocks.

Zakai wasted no time in reaching out to Armoni when the bracket lit up.

Zakai lived with Armoni, Armoni’s mother and stepfather for a time during the COVID-19 pandemic.

"He was ecstatic," Volunteers forward Tobe Awaka said of Zakai’s reaction . "Those two have an incredible bond."

Zakai, 5-9 and the SEC defensive player of the year this season, will not have to worry about guarding Armoni, who stands 6-4.

"I told him I was like ‘You are going to have to guard your brother," Santiago Vescovi said. "He was like, 'No, you’ve got him.'"

When is Selection Sunday 2024?

The men’s bracket reveal is Sunday, March 17, 2024.

What channel is Selection Sunday on?

CBS will broadcast the men’s Selection Sunday show.

What time does March Madness bracket come out?

The men's Selection Sunday show starts at 6 p.m. ET.

How many teams make March Madness?

There will be 68 teams that make the tournament, including the eight teams that will have to play in the First Four games. Here’s everything you need to know about how Selection Sunday works .

Who plays in March Madness?

The winners of the 32 conference tournaments are automatically given a spot in the tournament, regardless of record. The remaining 36 spots are at-large bids determined by the committee. Here’s everything you need to know about how Selection Sunday works .

How are March Madness bids determined?

There are several different resources for the committee to choose the best 36 at-large teams, such as record and strength of schedule. But perhaps the most important one is the NET ranking. The NET ranking looks at a team's record and résumé, which then ranks all teams in Division I. Games are divided into four quadrants, and a team's quadrant record depends on who they are playing and where. This is how quadrant games are broken down:

  • Quadrant 1: Home 1-30, Neutral 1-50, Away 1-75
  • Quadrant 2: Home 31-75, Neutral 51-100, Away 76-135
  • Quadrant 3: Home 76-160, Neutral 101-200, Away 135-240
  • Quadrant 4: Home 161-353, Neutral 201-353, Away 241-353

The more Quad 1 wins, the better chance for a team to be selected in the tournament. Considering the NET ranking and other factors, the committee will then come up with the 36 best at-large teams to be selected. There are no limits to how many teams from a certain conference gets selected. Here’s everything you need to know about how Selection Sunday works .

How are March Madness seeds determined?

After the committee selects the 68 teams to be in the tournament, it ranks all of them 1 through 68. Once all the teams are ranked, every four teams are evaluated in the same seed line. Example: Nos. 1-4 will be the No. 1 seeds, Nos. 5-8 will be the No. 2 seeds and so on. The four lowest-ranked automatic qualifying teams will play in the First Four games as 16 seeds, while the four lowest at-large teams will compete in the other First Four games, typically as a No. 11 or No. 12 seed. Here’s everything you need to know about how Selection Sunday works .

How does Selection Sunday work?

On Selection Sunday, the full brackets will be revealed on CBS for the men and ESPN for the women, with matchups for every first-round game, as well as location, unveiled. A 12-person selection committee decides who will be in the tournament, as well as where each team is seeded and will play. Here’s everything you need to know about how Selection Sunday works .

When is the first March Madness game?

Games for the men's First Four are March 19-20. First-round games for the men are March 21-22.

March Madness 2024 game locations

Here are all the venues hosting tournament games over the next several weeks.

How is it determined where teams play in March Madness?

Once the seeds for each team are determined, the committee must then place them in the regional location that makes sense and preferred, as well as the first- and second-round sites. All tournament locations are predetermined, so the higher the seed, the better the site location for the team.

Example, if the No. 1 seed is Houston, it will get to play in the South region, which takes place in Dallas. It likely would get to pick the location for the first two games, which would be in Memphis since it's the closest spot to the school. The No. 1 seeds typically get the best possible location for them, and it could be a prime location for seeds Nos. 2-4 as well. The committee attempts to put the bracket in snake order, like the No. 5 overall seed will be in the same region as the No. 4 overall seed, but there are restrictions such as:

  • First four teams from the same conference must be in different regions if they are a Nos. 1-4 seed.
  • Teams from the same conference cannot meet before a regional final if they played each other three times during the regular season and conference tournament.
  • Teams from the same conference cannot meet before a regional semifinal if they played each other two times during the regular season and conference tournament.
  • Teams from the same conference cannot meet before the second round if they played each other once during the regular season and conference tournament.

Here’s everything you need to know about how Selection Sunday works .

Who won the men's ACC tournament?

North Carolina State Wolfpack

North Carolina State capped a miraculous conference tournament run with an 84-76 win over North Carolina on Saturday night, stealing a spot in the NCAA Tournament on the eve of Selection Sunday.

The Wolfpack, which lost seven of its last nine regular-season games, arrived in Washington as the No. 10 seed in the ACC tournament, needing to win five games in five days to prolong its season. And with an upset of Duke, an overtime victory over Virginia and its smothering of the Tar Heels on Saturday night, it managed to pull it off.

"Why not us? We carried that mantra into the tournament," fifth-year guard Casey Morsell said. "We knew we were the underdog, but we love that feeling. We love being the underdogs. We were like 10-point underdogs today. We love that. We love it all.” – Tom Schad

Five most overpaid men's college basketball coaches: John Calipari, Mike Woodson make list

Whether you believe Kentucky coach John Calipari is overpaid could depend on the year, the month, even the week. Calipari earned his mega-millions salary when the Wildcats were among the most dominant teams in Division I, capturing one national championship in 2012 and playing for others in 2011, 2014 and 2015. But Kentucky hasn't been back to the Final Four since even as Calipari's annual salary continues to rise ―  now at $8.5 million in total compensation for 2023-24 , second-most in the country.

USA TODAY Sports compiled pay information  from each school in the Power Five conferences and from each school outside those conferences whose team has appeared in at least three of the past five NCAA tournaments.

While Kentucky has had moments this season, including a late run that has lifted the Wildcats toward the top of the SEC, the results and payoff given the school's mammoth investment into Calipari and the program makes him yet again one of the most overpaid coaches in the country. Read Paul Myerberg’s full story here .

How much does John Calipari make?

Kentucky’s John Calipari is now at $8.5 million in total compensation for 2023-24 , second-most in the country.

Michigan State's basketball maverick: How Tom Izzo has prospered on his terms for 30 years

Nearly three decades ago, Michigan State University offered Tom Izzo a five-year, $540,000 contract to be its next men's basketball coach. He didn't bother countering or negotiating. In fact, he didn't even have an agent. In the years since, Izzo has led the Spartans to eight Final Four appearances and a national championship in 2000 – emerging as one of the sport’s iconic coaches and, in many ways, the face of the university. His contracts have gotten more lucrative and complex as a result, but he said his approach at Michigan State hasn't changed.

"I've never negotiated a contract," Izzo told USA TODAY Sports. "Ever."

Nor does he have an agent.

"I heard I'm one of the only dumb ones," he added, with a laugh.

It’s no surprise that Izzo, who spent 12 seasons as a Michigan State assistant before being promoted to head coach in 1995, is once again among the highest-paid men’s basketball coaches in the country in 2024. According to USA TODAY Sports’ annual review of coaching compensation, the 69-year-old is making roughly $6.2 million this season, which puts him third behind only Bill Self of Kansas and John Calipari of Kentucky.

What’s unusual, however, is the way that Izzo and Michigan State have gotten to this point – piecing together big-money contracts for almost 30 years with little public acrimony, even as Izzo’s stature has grown, administrators have come and gone, and the landscape of college sports has shifted. Who won the men's SEC tournament?

Auburn Tigers  Auburn beat Florida 86-67 in the SEC championship game Sunday, the Tigers’ first SEC tournament title since 2019. Florida sophomore center Micah Handlogten was taken off the court on a stretcher Sunday during the game after he suffered a broken bone on his lower left leg.

Who won the men's Atlantic-10 tournament?

Duquesne Dukes

Duquesne ended up beating Virginia Commonwealth 57-51 to punch its first ticket to the NCAA tournament since 1977. There was plenty of red and blue confetti left for the official celebration.

The Dukes played a team game and their leading scorer was senior guard Dae Dae Grant, who had 10 points and four steals. Their lead was as large as 18 points, and they withstood their own scoring drought and a strong second half from the Rams, who came within one point with 1:36 left in the game. — Victoria Hernandez

Kevin Harlan loses his mind over confetti mishap

A little more than two minutes into the second half of the Atlantic-10 championship game between Duquesne and Virginia Commonwealth , streams of red and blue confetti began raining down from the Barclays Center rafters.

Commentator Kevin Harlan summarized the shock of the moment on the CBS broadcast .

"Confetti falling right now! Confetti is falling on the floor," he said. "They're gonna have to stop playing. We can't see our notes. The players can't work on this court. Confetti is everywhere. Somebody hit the wrong button!"

The red and blue paper – Duquesne's team colors – mostly fell in the stands and Harlan's co-commentator Don Bonner started picking it up.

"You're collecting it like you're going to bring it home to your grandkids or something," Harlan said. " … It's confetti."

"My grandkids would probably like this," Bonner responded, "but you're the one who's complaining you can't see anything, so we gotta clean the table off for ya." — Victoria Hernandez

Who won the men's Pac-12 tournament?

Oregon Ducks

In what is likely the final year of the Pac-12, Oregon claimed the conference championship by beating Colorado, 75-68. It was the Ducks' sixth Pac-12 tournament title and their first since 2019.

Senior center N'Faly Dante went 12 for 12 from the field for 25 points and was named the tournament's most outstanding player. Dante injured his tailbone during Oregon's semifinal win against Arizona.

Who won the men's Big East tournament?

UConn Huskies

The defending national champions won the Big East tournament for the first time since rejoining the conference four years ago.

The Huskies, who won their fifth national championship last year, are the likely No. 1 overall seed when the tournament bracket is unveiled.

Tristen Newton was named tournament MVP, scoring 13 points to go with 10 assists against Marquette, whom UConn defeated 73-57.

Who won the men's Big Ten tournament?

Illinois Fighting Illini

Illinois is headed to the NCAA Tournament for the fourth consecutive season after it won the Big Ten tournament title against Wisconsin. It is the first conference tournament title for Illinois since 2021 and it will be its 33rd appearance in the big dance.

The Fighting Illini outscored the Badgers 12-5 over the final 3:55 to preserve the victory. — Jordan Mendoza

Who won the men's Big 12 tournament?

Iowa State Cyclones

The Cyclones won their sixth Big 12 title by routing the nation's No. 1 team, Houston, 69-41.

The margin of victory was the largest over a No. 1 team since 1968 when UCLA beat Houston in the 1968 Final Four.

Keshon Gilbert was named the tournament's most outstanding player after scoring 16 points to lead Iowa State.

Rock & roll has changed, expanded and developed with the times yet The Wild Feathers believe the fundamentals should still be at the forefront of their music. The Nashville four piece have an ability to create music which sounds fresh yet could have easily been played in dusky basements in the 1960s, this blurring of sound has created a pure version of rock that they have then manipulated through their releases.

Their classic sound has been delighting fans all over since their formation in 2010 and they know have a loyal following who pack out their shows and sing along to favourites such as the smooth 'I Can Have You' or the somber 'If You Don't Love Me'. The band has recently been playing a fantastic cover of Tom Petty's 'Listen To Her Heart' which has been going down wonderfully with their audiences, it allows them to show off their skills as musicians as each proficiently hit every chord on their acoustic guitars whilst Ricky Young croons the classic lyrics.

Wild Feathers have enjoyed sharing the stage with Delta Spirit, Surfer Blood and The Heavy, even landing an opening spot on Paul Simon’s 2011 fall tour so they have had some brilliant teachings and the influences of these musicians is apparent in their show. Tickets are available now for their upcoming tour.

It was a great show by The Wildfeathers at Lee's Palace in Toronto last nite. The band rocked the full house crowd to songs off their latest release, Lonely is a Lifetime, as well as their self titled debut. Well crafted and delivered songs by these musicians will please fans for years to come.

To my own personal delight Taylor Burns made a well delivered political statement without saying a thing. He merely displayed the back of his guitar which had "fuck trump" on it in masking tape letters.

For the final song of the night warm up band, & newcomers to our side of the border, The Shelters, joined The Wildfeathers for a memorable version of The Beatles song With A Little Help From My Friends.

What a show! These guys were as good live as I had always hoped. Both opening bands were great too.....all three bands got on stage together at the end and sang "With a little help from my friends", gave me chills. Fun, fun night of music! Come back to Columbus soon!

2024 Players Championship money: Purse, payout breakdown, winner’s share

Xander Schauffele holds a one-shot lead heading into the final round at TPC Sawgrass.

Getty Images

Xander Schauffele’s resume includes an Olympic gold medal, Tour Championship title and WGC victory. On Sunday at TPC Sawgrass, though, he has a chance to add a victory that would top them all.

After a flawless third-round 65, Schauffele holds a one-stroke lead heading into the final round at the 2024 Players Championship. With a win he’d not only add a win at the PGA Tour’s premier event, but also earn himself the hefty $4.5 million first-place prize.

To get his hands on the trophy, he’ll have to hold off a series of challengers featuring some of the Tour’s best. Men’s golf’s two most recent major winners — Brian Harman and Wyndham Clark — are each within two strokes of Schauffele, while major winners Matt Fitzpatrick and Scottie Scheffler remain in chase as well.

Check out below for an entire purse breakdown for the 2024 Players Championship.

Richard pitino led no. 6 seed new mexico to four wins in four days at the mw tournament.

No. 6 seed New Mexico is dancing after knocking off No. 5 seed San Diego State 68-61 in the Mountain West Conference Championship Game on Saturday in Las Vegas. The Lobos came into the week on the bubble, and this result solidifies that they will be dancing by winning the automatic bid.

This is New Mexico's first conference tournament title since 2014. The Lobos led by as many as 14 points in the first half before SDSU staged a comeback down the stretch. SDSU ended the game shooting 1-of-14 from the floor — opening the door for New Mexico to pull away,

New Mexico guard Jaelen House scored a game-high 28 points, and Jamal Mashburn Jr. added 21. San Diego State was a No. 6 seed in the porjected NCAA Tournament bracket by  CBS Sports Bracketology Expert Jerry Palm  coming into the day. Both teams will await their respective draw during the Selection Sunday on CBS.

The Mountain West projects to have six teams in the NCAA Tournament. San Diego State, New Mexico, Colorado State, Boise State, Utah State, and Nevada all project to make the field. Utah State won the regular-season conference title but fell to San Diego State in the semifinals.

Championship: New Mexico 68, San Diego State 61

No. 6 seed New Mexico earned the automatic bid from the Mountain West with a 68-61 win over No. 5 seed San Diego State in the conference title game on Saturday in Las Vegas. The Lobos won four games in four days to win their first conference tournament title since 2014.

New Mexico guard Jaelen House scored a game-high 28 points and Jamal Mashburn Jr. added 21. San Diego State was a No. 6 seed by  CBS Sports Bracketology Expert Jerry Palm  coming into the day. Both teams will await their respective draw during the Selection Sunday on CBS.

Semifinals: San Diego State 86, Utah State 70

What a comeback for the 5-seed Aztecs, who at one point trailed by 17 points in the first half but eventually built a 13-point lead in the waning minutes of the game. The Mountain West has been arguably the best non-Big Six conference in college hoops this year, so neither the Aggies nor the Aztecs have to sweat it out ahead of selection Sunday. San Diego State will play the winner of Colorado State and New Mexico in the Mountain West title game on Saturday.

Quarterfinals: Colorado State 85, Nevada 78

No. 7 seed Colorado State delivered the first upset of the day in the Mountain West Conference Tournament with a 85-78 win over No. 2 seed Nevada on Thursday. The Rams are one of six teams projected in the NCAA Tournament by CBS Sports Bracketology Expert Jerry Palm .

Colorado State guard Jalen Lake scored a team-high 16 points, and Isaiah Stevens added 15. Nevada will await its seeding on Selection Sunday. The Wolf Pack are projected as a No. 6 seed by Palm.

Quarterfinals: San Diego State 74, UNLV 71 (OT)

No. 5 seed San Diego State defeated No. 4 seed UNLV 74-71 in the Mountain West Conference Tournament quarterfinals on Thursday. SDSU star Jaedon LeDee converted a floater with 14 seconds remaining in overtime and knocked down two free throws after UNLV guard Dedan Thomas Jr. missed what would've been the go-ahead layup on the other end.

LeDee scored a team-high 34 points and added 16 rebounds in the win. The Aztecs will face top-seeded Utah State in the semifinals on Friday.

UNLV's loss likely ends its chances of reaching the NCAA Tournament, as the Rebels needed to win the conference tournament to steal a bid. Thomas missed a 3-pointer at the buzzer that would have sent the game into double-overtime.

Quarterfinals: Utah State 87, Fresno State 75 (OT)

It took overtime, but No. 1 seed Utah State took down No. 9 seed Fresno State in an 87-75 win. The Aggies await the winner of No. 5 seed San Diego State and No. 4 seed UNLV in the tournament semifinals on Friday in Las Vegas.

Utah State star Great Osobor scored a game-high 29 points and added 17 rebounds. Fresno State ends the season with a 12-21 record and will head into the offseason with questions looming around the program. Fresno State coach Justin Hutson just wrapped up his sixth season at the school and with his contract set to expire next month.

First round: New Mexico 82, Air Force 56

No. 6 seed New Mexico concluded Day 1 of the Mountain West Conference Tournament with an 82-56 statement win over No. 11 seed Air Force. The Lobos are listed as one of the "Last Four In" in  CBS Sports Bracketology Expert Jerry Palm's latest projections.

The New Mexico star JT Toppin scored a team-high 18 points, and Jaelen House scored all 16 points -- all before halftime -- in the win. The Lobos have a date with No. 3 seed Boise State in the quarterfinals on Thursday. Air Force ends its season with a 9-22 record — just one game shy of the worst mark in the Mountain West behind San Jose State.

First round: Colorado State 72, San Jose State 62

Colorado State defeated San Jose State 72-62 in the first round of the Mountain West Conference Tournament Wednesday. The Rams held off a late surge from the Spartans to advance to the quarterfinals against No. 2 seed Nevada on Thursday.

Joel Scott scored a team-high 18 points and Isaiah Stevens added 11 points and 10 assists for Colorado State. The Rams came into the day on the No. 8 line in  CBS Sports Bracketology Expert Jerry Palm 's latest projections. San Jose State concludes its season with a 9-23 record.

First round: Fresno State 77, Wyoming 73

No. 9 Fresno State rallied from a 10-point first-half deficit to stun No. 8 seed Wyoming 77-73 in the first game of the Mountain West Conference Tournament Wednesday. Fresno State guard Leo Colimerio converted the go-ahead layup with 16 seconds left, and the Bulldogs forced a turnover on the other end to seal the win.

Fresno State lost to this same Wyoming team four days prior at home, 86-47. Now, they will face Mountain West regular-season champion and No. 1 seed Utah State on Thursday in the quarterfinals. Wyoming ends the season with a 15-17 record.

Expert picks for the Mountain West Conference Tournament

The Mountain West Conference Tournament kicks off Wednesday with No. 9 seed Fresno State playing No. 8 seed Wyoming. Colorado State and New Mexico — both projected to reach the NCAA Tournament by  CBS Sports Bracketology Expert Jerry Palm — will play later in the day against No. 10 seed San Jose State and No. 11 seed Air Force, respectively.

June 24, 2023 - Wagner head says group standing down

Voronezh governor confirms fire at oil refinery on city outskirts

From CNN's Tim Lister and Uliana Pavlova

Emergency responders work to extinguish a burning fuel tank at an oil refinery in Voronezh, Russia, on June 24.

A burning fuel tank at an oil refinery close to the Russian city Voronezh is being extinguished, Governor Alexander Gusev said Saturday.

“In Voronezh, a burning fuel tank is being extinguished at an oil depot on the Dimitrov street. More than 100 firefighters and 30 vehicles are on site. According to the first data, there are no victims,” Gusev said in a statement.

He provided no explanation for the cause of the fire, but several social media videos show at least one military helicopter in the vicinity. As a helicopter flies towards the refinery, there is an explosion and fireball, and thick black smoke rises from the location.

Fighters of the Wagner private military company had been in the area, according to other geolocated video.

Geolocated footage shows at least two military helicopters in the vicinity, on the outskirts of the city.

Russian state media outlets have published video of roadblocks around the city of Voronezh, which appears to have been a goal of Wagner units moving northwards from Rostov-on-Don.

Wagner chief Yevgeny Prigozhin has turned rebel. But who is he?

From CNN's Sophie Tanno

Yevgeny Prigozhin attends a funeral in Moscow on April 8.

Yevgeny Prigozhin is the founder and bombastic chief of Russia's private military group Wagner.

Typically a figure who has operated in the shadows, Prigozhin and his army were thrust into the spotlight following the outbreak of Russia's war in Ukraine, with his troops playing a key role in the fighting.

He shared Russian President Vladimir Putin's relatively humble beginnings, growing up in the tougher neighborhood of Saint Petersburg.

Prigozhin has known Putin since the 1990s. He became a wealthy oligarch by winning lucrative catering contracts with the Kremlin,  earning him the moniker “Putin’s chef.”

Prigozhin, left, serves food to Putin during a dinner at Prigozhin's restaurant in 2011.

His transformation into a brutal warlord came in the aftermath of the 2014 Russian-backed separatist movements in the Donbas in eastern Ukraine.

Prigozhin founded Wagner to be a shadowy mercenary outfit that fought both in eastern Ukraine and, increasingly, for Russian-backed causes around the world.

CNN has tracked Wagner mercenaries in the Central African Republic, Sudan, Libya, Mozambique, Ukraine and Syria. Over the years they have developed a particularly gruesome reputation and have been linked to various human rights abuses.

It took the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine for Prigozhin and his forces to take center stage. Wagner particularly took the charge in eastern Ukraine and Wagner forces were heavily involved in taking Soledar, a few miles northeast of Bakhmut, and areas around the town.

In recent months, Prigozhin has created a dilemma for Putin by  becoming an outspoken critic of Russia's military leaders .

In May, he announced that his troops would withdraw from the embattled eastern city of Bakhmut -- after complained for well over a month of receiving insufficient support from the Kremlin in the grueling fight for the eastern city.

Now, Prigozhin has launched an all-out rebellion against the Kremlin -- after his increasingly outrageous outbursts  sparked speculation that he could be going too far.

Wagner chief rejects surrender, saying Putin "deeply mistaken"

From CNN’s Anna Chernova and Tim Lister

Yevgeny Prigozhin, the chief of private military company (PMC) Wagner, has refused to surrender following Russian President Vladimir Putin’s address describing his actions as a betrayal.

Prigozhin said on Telegram that the president is “deeply mistaken.”

“Regarding the ‘betrayal of the motherland,’ the president is deeply mistaken. We are patriots of our Motherland, we fought and are fighting, all the fighters of the PMC Wagner,” Prigozhin said in audio messages shared by the press service.

“And no one is going to turn themselves in at the request of the president, the FSB or anyone else,” he added.

Prigozhin’s language in the message is in clear defiance of both the Kremlin and security services. Previously, he has been careful not to criticize Putin directly, or challenge his authority.

Prigozhin also returned to a familiar theme, saying that his men are patriots and refuse to perpetuate the “corruption, deceit, and bureaucracy” in which he claims Russia is living.

“When we were told that we were at war with Ukraine, we went and fought. But it turned out that ammunition, weapons, all the money that was allocated is also being stolen, and the bureaucrats are sitting [idly], saving it for themselves, just for the occasion that happened today, when someone [is] marching to Moscow,” he said.

Russian military carrying out necessary “combat measures” in southern city of Voronezh, governor says

From CNN's Uliana Pavlova

Russian military are carrying out the necessary “combat measures” in the southern Russia city of Voronezh, the region's governor said.

Alexander Gusev posted a brief update on his Telegram channel, as geolocated videos emerge showing Wagner fighters and vehicles on the move along the M-4 highway that leads to the city of Voronezh from southern Russia.

“As part of the counter-terrorist operation on the territory of the Voronezh region, the armed forces of the Russian Federation are carrying out the necessary operational and combat measures. I will keep you updated as the situation develops,” Gusev said.

Chechen leader Kadyrov condemns "treacherous march" of Prigozhin, urges support for Putin

From CNN's Tim Lister and Anna Chernova

Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov is pictured at a meeting chaired by Russian President Vladimir Putin in Pyatigorsk on May 19.

Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov has condemned the actions of Wagner chief Yevgeny Prigozhin and pledged his support to the Kremlin.

Addressing Wagner fighters, Kadyrov said: “Whatever goals you are given, no matter what promises you are told -- the security of the state and the cohesion of Russian society at such a moment is above all else! See how our enemies in the West are taking advantage of this situation….These are the expected consequences of Prigozhin's treacherous march.”

He also spoke of a “vile betrayal” by Prigozhin.

In a long statement on Telegram, Kadyrov said: “I have repeatedly warned that war is not the time to voice personal grievances and resolve disputes in our rear. The rear must always be calm and reliable. Imagine how the guys in the trenches feel now, in the face of which there is an enemy, and behind their backs a treacherous adventure. We are talking about stability, about the cohesion of the state, about the security of citizens.”

Kadyrov continued: “We have a Supreme Commander-in-Chief, elected by the people, who knows the whole situation to the smallest detail better than any strategist.”

Referring to President Putin ’s address to the nation Saturday, he said: “Vladimir Vladimirovich quite rightly noted in his address to the nation -- this is a military rebellion! There is no excuse for such actions! I fully support every word of Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin!

“What is happening is not an ultimatum to the Ministry of Defense. This is a challenge to the state, and against this challenge it is necessary to rally around the national leader: the military, security forces, governors, and the civilian population.”

Kadyrov’s statement ends: “The rebellion must be crushed, and if this requires harsh measures, then we are ready!”

Some context: Wagner chief Yevgeny Prigozhin claimed Saturday to have seized control of key military facilities in Rostov and Voronezh, pledging to move on to Moscow if Russia's Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu and top general Valery Gerasimov, did not meet with him.

Earlier, the official Russian news agency TASS reported that traffic had been blocked on the M-4 highway past Rostov-on-Don towards Aksay.

“All cars moving from Rostov-on-Don towards Aksay are being redirected back in the city, and police checkpoints have been reinforced,” TASS reported.

Russian Foreign Ministry urges unity around Putin to prevent "civil strife"

From CNN's Anna Chernova

The Russian Foreign Ministry has issued a call for unity in Russia in order to prevent the potential threat of “civil strife.”

“We have one commander in chief [Vladimir Putin]. Not two, not three. One. And he urged everyone to unite,” spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said in a Telegram post, echoing sentiments expressed by other government officials.

“The enemy is just waiting for our civil strife,” she added.

Zakharova urged the men of Russia to unite despite their differing views. “Behind you are children, women, your parents! Behind you is the country. Behind you is everything that you defend with weapons in your hands. Behind you are the graves of those who did not spare themselves. You are future generations. Hold on and don't give in."

Zakharova concluded her message by urging Russians to stand strong.

“Today we are all being tempted, our strength tested. Don't give in! Together with the President! May God keep us!” she added.

Her words of defiance come as Wagner chief Yevgeny Prigozhin claimed Saturday to have seized control of key military facilities in Rostov and Voronezh, pledging to move on to Moscow if Russia's Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu and top general Valery Gerasimov did not meet with him.

Voronezh governor disputes rumors about military equipment moving through the region

From CNN’s Uliana Pavlova and Anna Chernova

Rumors of military equipment moving through Russia's southern city Voronezh amid reports of Wagner fighters also traveling in the region, have been disputed by its governor Alexander Gusev.

“A lot of unreliable information is now being published on social networks about the alleged movement of columns of military equipment through the territory of the Voronezh region,” Gusev said in a statement Saturday.

“The legislation of the Russian Federation provides for liability for the dissemination of such messages,” he added, asking people to only follow information from official sources.

"I also ask the media to take a responsible approach to posting information,” Gusev said.

The Russian news agency RIA Novosti quoted its correspondent in Voronezh as saying that “access to the buildings of the FSB and the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Voronezh is blocked, the police are on duty.”

Major Russian highway disrupted amid reports of Wagner presence

From CNN's Tim Lister

Motorists on a major highway in southern Russia have been advised to avoid the route, amid reports that convoys of Wagner fighters are using it.

The warning was posted on Telegram by the company Avtodor, which operates Russian highways.

“Drivers, Attention. Please choose routes around the M-4,” the message read.

The M-4 runs north from Rostov to Voronezh and onto Moscow.

Wagner chief Yevgeny Prigozhin claimed Saturday to have seized control of key military facilities in Rostov and Voronezh, pledging to move on to Moscow if Russia's Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu and top general Valery Gerasimov, did not meet with him.

European leaders and NATO monitor situation in Russia

From CNN's Joseph Ataman, Sharon Braithwaite, Antonia Mortensen and Uliana Pavlova

French President Emmanuel Macron is seen at the Presidential Elysee Palace on June 23, in Paris, France.

NATO is "monitoring the situation" in Russia, a spokesperson told CNN Saturday, which the European Union has also said it is "carefully" doing.

"We are following the situation carefully and are in permanent contact with our Ambassador in Moscow and continuing our internal consultations with our Member States," EU spokesperson for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Nabila Massrali told CNN.

"What we are witnessing is an internal Russian issue," Massrali added.

Other European leaders have also commented that they are monitoring the events.

French President Emmanuel Macron is following Russia "closely," the Elysee Palace said Saturday.

“The President is monitoring the situation closely. We remain focused on supporting Ukraine," the Elysee said.

Estonia's Prime Minister Kaja Kallas tweeted that they were also following developments and trading information with allies.

"Border security has been strengthened. I also urge our people not to travel to any part of Russia," she said after assuring they do not face any direct threat.

Similarly, Poland's President Andrzej Duda said they were watching the situation on an "ongoing basis."

"Due to the situation in Russia, we held consultations this morning with the Prime Minister and the Ministry of National Defense, as well as with the Allies. The course of events beyond our eastern border is monitored on an ongoing basis," Duda tweeted Saturday.

Meanwhile, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko and Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke by phone Saturday morning, Belarusian official news agency reported.

"The Russian president informed his counterpart about the situation in the country,” BELTA said.

Belarus, which shares borders with both Russia and Ukraine, was a key ally to Putin when the war started February last year.
