Travel & Adventure Show 2023: A Must for Cruise and Travel Fans
By: Author Carrie Ann Karstunen
Posted on Published: March 10, 2022 - Last updated: September 16, 2022
The Travel & Adventure Show is coming to nine US cities in 2023. Find out why this fun two-day travel exhibition is a must for anyone who loves traveling.
Last spring, I enjoyed visiting the Travel & Adventure Show in Boston , and as a travel fanatic it was the perfect way to spend a weekend, even though I wasn’t far from home!
But don’t worry that you missed the boat with the last exhibition. The Travel & Adventure Show is once again visiting nine US cities in the spring of 2023.
At this two-day gathering, travel fans can meet with dozens of friendly people from around the world who represent travel brands, and there’s always a variety of exhibitors. You’ll see booths for cruise lines, independent tour operators, tourism boards, luxury resorts, airlines—there’s something for every kind of traveler.
What is the Travel & Adventure Show?
For seventeen years the Travel & Adventure Show has hosted annual travel exhibitions in major US cities. They’ve done over a hundred of these events so far, with a total of over 2.1 million visitors!
Each show offers over 100 travel-focused exhibitor booths, featuring both domestic and international destinations.
Stroll through the exhibition halls and pick up literature from travel companies you’re interested in, snag some free logo goodies, and enter drawings to win prizes.
Plus, you can sit in on any of their dozens of free live seminars and travel talks, held on three stages throughout the event.
Where is the Travel & Adventure Show stopping in 2023?
- Chicago: January 14-15, 2023 – Donald E. Stephens Convention Center
- Boston : January 21-22, 2023 – Hynes Convention Center
- New York : January 28-29, 2023 – Javits Center
- Washington D.C. February 4-5, 2023 – Washington Convention Center
- Los Angeles February 18-19, 2023 – Los Angeles Convention Center
- Denver February 25-26, 2023 – Colorado Convention Center

- Atlanta March 25-26, 2023 – Cobb Galleria Centre

Why this exhibition is a mecca for cruisers
Cruisers will love the Travel & Adventure Show for the opportunity to “talk cruising” with reps from your favorite companies, especially to find out all about their newest ships and itineraries!
You might even find some cruise lines you haven’t yet considered yet—it’s not just the major mass-market lines at this show!
Reps from expedition cruise operators, luxury cruise lines, and even small regional cruise outfits are on hand at this show to answer all your questions, even if you’re just dreaming about taking a cruise!
Cruise lines represented at the 2022 Boston show:
- AMA Waterways
- Atlas Ocean Voyages
- Celestyal Cruises
- CroisiEurope Cruises
- Holland America Line
- Hurtigruten
- Katarina Line
- Norwegian Cruise Line
- Poseidon Expeditions
- Princess Cruises
- Regent Seven Seas Cruises
- Royal Caribbean
- Viking Cruises
- Windstar Cruises
Take a moment and check out each of the cruise travel booths—you’re sure to find inspiration for your next cruise adventure (and you might walk away with some free swag, too!)
Speakers at the Travel & Adventure Show
One of my favorite parts of the show was attending the inspirational travel seminars. For my 2022 visit, there were over thirty of them on three stages, so be sure to plan out which ones you want to see! And yes, all the seminars are included in the price of your ticket.
My last Boston show had several featured speakers, including Andrew McCarthy (yes, the Pretty in Pink and St. Elmo’s Fire actor!), beloved travel show host Samantha Brown , and Pauline Frommer —the author, TV host, and Editorial Director of Frommer’s Guidebooks.
On the main stage, known as the Travel Theater, the featured speakers entertained and inspired us with stories of their travels throughout the world.
At the end of each seminar there’s a brief Q&A session, followed by a meet and greet so you can interact (and maybe snap a photo) with the speakers.
Pro tip: If you want to meet one of your fave speakers without standing in a long line, get up during the Q&A session at the very end of the seminar and head over to the Meet & Greet stand. You’ll still be able to hear the end of the session, but you’ll be at the front of the line!
Featured speakers vary by city, and (of course) the list of speakers is subject to change. Check out my chart below with all of last year’s featured speakers for each city.
When the 2023 Travel & Adventure Show speakers are finalized, I’ll update this post. So bookmark it if you’re thinking about attending!
Featured speakers at the 2022 Travel & Adventure Shows
In addition to the Travel Theater , the exhibition also features two other stages hosting interesting travel talks on various topics:
Destination Theater: A variety of destination experts will inspire you to travel, sharing in-depth information about how to experience their favorite places like a local.
Savvy Traveler Theater: Here you’ll find travel pros sharing their best travel tips—like how to pack for your vacation, budget travel hacks, and how to stay safe when you travel.
Buying tickets for the Travel & Adventure Show
Although it seems like the price of just about everything has skyrocketed over the past year, I’m thrilled to report that Travel & Adventure Show tickets cost the same as last year!
Tickets are still $16 for one day and $24 for both days (online or at the door). Kids age 16 and under get in free with an adult.
To purchase tickets online, visit the Travel & Adventure Show website and click on “buy tickets” for your preferred city.
Travel & Adventure Show FAQ
The Travel & Adventure Show will visit nine US cities in 2023: Chicago, Boston, New York, Washington DC, Los Angeles, Denver, San Francisco, Atlanta, and Dallas.
Tickets for the Travel & Adventure Show are $16 for one day and $24 for both days. Children 16 and under are free when accompanied by an adult.
I’d like to thank the Travel & Adventure Show for providing Should Be Cruising with two passes to the 2022 Boston show. I wasn’t provided any additional compensation, and as always my opinions are entirely my own.
Have you been to the Travel & Adventure Show? Or are you planning on going in 2023? I’d love to hear from you in the comments below!

My wife and I attended your presentation in Rocky Mount, NC on April 3rd because we were told we would receive a voucher for a cruise just by attending. Also the first 50 attendees would receive a $100 dinner voucher. We responded to the mail immediately upon receiving it, we went to the presentation, and received nothing so far. This is smelling like a scam.

Hi John, I'm an independent travel blogger who attended the Travel & Adventure show in Boston as a member of the media. I have no affiliation with the company. The real Travel & Adventure Show takes place annually in large cities across the US. As far as I know it's never been held in the small city of Rocky Mount, NC. You may have been scammed/lied to by another company with a similar name.

6 Travel Conferences You Must Attend in 2023 – 2024
After two years of darkened hotel ballrooms and piles of chairs locked up in conference room corners, the lights are finally switching on. The cobwebs have been swept away, experts contacted, and now the digital ads are in full swing. Travel trade shows are back and with them, enormous opportunity.
Travel agent events like conferences connect travel professionals from around the world to share knowledge, meet vendors and create new partnerships. And let’s be honest, it’s about time we abandon our desks and computer screens and see the world.
That said, below are 6 travel agents trade shows and conferences coming up in 2023-2024 to inspire you with exciting new ideas and help you expand your business vision.
1. Adventure Travel World Summit; Hokkaido, Japan
Do you sell adventure? Or are you looking to pivot into that niche?
The Adventure Travel Trade Association (ATTA) sponsors a summit every year for tour operators, travel writers, industry partners and tourism boards who are involved in the adventure travel industry. But it’s much more than a conference. Summit participants join offsite trips in addition to hearing from keynote speakers, maximizing endless networking opportunities, sharing industry information and pitching new story ideas during Media Connect sessions.
The ATTA has already reserved Hokkaido, Japan for September 2023. The event will include adventures into the surrounding wilderness, business meetings and networking opportunities, and time for travel leaders to connect.
2. FITUR 2024; Madrid, Spain
FITUR is an International Tourism Trade Fair organized by IFEMA MADRID. In January 2022, Fitur hosted 600 exhibitors from 107 countries and welcomed over 100,000 visitors. Fitur serves as a meeting place for tourism professionals from around the world. It’s also the leading trade fair for inbound and outbound markets in Latin America.
Fitur targets both mass tourism and niche markets, showcasing new sectors each year as the tourism industry becomes more diverse. It also presents cutting edge technology including artificial intelligence, smart tourist destinations and big data.
Fitur will hold its 44th tourism trade show from January 24th – 28th, 2024. Targeting hotel chains, agencies, tour operators, technological companies, suppliers, transportation and institutions from around the world, Fitur 2024 will focus on how to strengthen post pandemic tourism and how to generate new business opportunities.
3. ITB 2024; Berlin, Germany
ITB takes place at the Berlin ExpoCenter City exhibition center. With more than 10,000 exhibitors, ITB is the largest convention in the travel industry. The convention presents informational stands on countries, destinations, hotels and tourism associations as well as on specialist suppliers, booking systems and transport operators. ITB is a platform for B2B travel industry leaders to meet and network.
ITB’s event will take place in Berlin from March 5th – 7th, 2024. The guest country of ITB 2023 will be Georgia.
4. IPW; San Antonio, Texas
How about a trip to the USA?
US travel exhibitors convene once a year in San Antonio, Texas for the U.S. Travel Association’s IPW international inbound travel trade show. At IPW, US travel exhibitors connect with travel buyers and media from more than 70 countries to share their products and build new business relationships. IPW showcases the American travel industry to its international visitors to promote and increase tourism in the USA.
The U.S. Travel Association’s IPW is the leading international inbound travel trade show. The next convention will take place from May 20th-24th, 2023.
5. ETOA’s Global European Marketplace (GEM); London, UK
For ETOA members only, GEM is ETOA’s annual travel trade event. Not just another tour operators’ event, here tourism suppliers meet new leads and reconnect with existing business contacts. With preset appointments based on business profile and goals, buyers and suppliers meet one-on-one throughout the event.
Participants also attend educational and networking sessions. Close to 400 global and intra-European buyers are invited to GEM’s upcoming event, which will take place from November 2nd – 3rd, 2023 in London, UK.
6. Travel Expo-Travel and Adventure Show
Looking for an excuse to visit a metropolitan center in the USA?
The Travel and Adventure Show is a traveling expo, which will meet in 9 different cities across the USA in 2023 including Chicago, Boston, NY, Washington DC, Los Angeles, Denver, San Francisco, Atlanta and Dallas.
For tour operators, travel agents and tourists alike, the Travel and Adventure Show gives travel companies the opportunity to maximize their marketing and sales by presenting to prescreened audiences. Buyers can obtain the most up-to-date travel and itinerary options, safety protocols directly from the source.
In addition, visitors can attend one or more of the dozens of educational and informational travel workshops that take place throughout the day.
Travel trade shows: are they worth attending?
The last two years wreaked havoc on the travel industry. According to the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), global tourism experienced its worst year on record in 2020. Destinations worldwide suffered a decrease by one billion in international arrivals as compared to the previous year due to the massive drop in demand and the serious travel restrictions.
But with travel restrictions lifting, the travel industry is returning in full force. According to a recent Pulse survey , 73% of business travelers agree that a general increase in business travel is extremely likely and 62% anticipate an increase in their own business travel compared to 2021.
With demand on the rise, it behooves any travel professional to continue networking, building strategic relationships and marketing their products in person at travel trade shows. If the expense was worth it to you in the past, then now, in the current travel industry, the ROI should prove to be even greater.

Why attend FTE Global?
Why exhibit at FTE Global?
Don’t just take our word for it – read what FTE Global attendees have said about the show…
“My experience at FTE Global 2022 has been fabulous. It has been an excellent networking experience. We have connected with all levels of airports. People are very open to new and innovative ideas, so we are thrilled to be here. The number and quality of visitors to our booth has exceeded my expectations. I have sat in on many of the conference sessions – I thought the range of topics and content discussed was very well thought out, and the quality of the speakers was excellent.” Pati Flannery, Strategic Partnerships, North America, Ariadne Maps
“It has been wonderful here at FTE Global 2022. We are a start-up with a very new technology and have found the response overwhelming, because the quality of attendees is exactly what we are looking for. We have made great contacts. This is probably the most unique way of us meeting a lot of people in a short period of time. The ability to meet people at a high level here, who are able to make purchasing decisions, is unrivalled. It is a great way of spending some of our marketing budget and getting a great return. We will definitely be back next year.” Finbarr Ring, Sales Director, Airware Solutions
“It has been excellent. It is my first time attending FTE Global. We are really pleased with the conference sessions, the networking, and the exhibition floor. It was very good because I had airlines, vendors and consultancy groups visiting the booth, so I am very pleased. I made a lot of good contacts. The conference sessions I attended were very interesting. I definitely will come back to FTE Global – it has been very good for us.” Diego Ferrer, Senior Advisor, Falco Systems
“FTE Global 2022 has been a very good experience. The quality of the attendees and conversations taking place are at a different level altogether. There is no sense of competition – the common theme in all of the conversations is how to collaborate, collectively share experiences, and transform the passenger experience. I see a lot of people being open and helping each other. This is a great networking opportunity in terms of making new connections and having meaningful conversations.” Amit Sukhija, Founder & CEO, ZestIOT Technologies Pvt. Ltd
“The experience at FTE Global has been great. We have had quite a bit of traffic through our booth, which is good. The conference sessions have been quite lively, with lots of discussions. We like those discussions – weare not just listening, we are participating, which has been great. There has been more time for networking this year, which has been good. The number of visitors to our booth this year is a little bit higher than it was in past years. We have been attending FTE Global since the beginning, so we will be back again.” Mark Stokes, Business Unit Manager, Brock Solutions
“I am a first-time attendee at FTE Global. Having the opportunity to walk the floor, meet all of the other exhibitors, and discuss how we can collaborate in the future has been really something that I enjoyed thoroughly. There has been a steady stream of visitors to our booth. The set-up is really good, being able to have everybody go through the exhibition in order to get to the conference rooms means there has been a very good flow and consistency to the exhibition. The overall networking opportunities are plentiful. There are lots of coffee breaks and opportunities for us to engage with other attendees. I have had phenomenal conversations after some of the breakout sessions. I will definitely attend FTE events in the future.” Ron Glickman, VP North America, Snowfall
“This is my first time attending FTE Global. There are all sorts of technologies – we have the airlines, we have companies that are providing solutions for the airports, so this really is a great opportunity for us to learn about what is going on in the industry. We have had excellent discussions with people coming to our booth. We have had way more visitors than we were expecting. The networking at FTE Global has been excellent. I think this event is fantastic for the industry as a whole. I clearly see the value in attending – you learn in two days what would take you six months otherwise, because there is so much knowledge in this room right now.” Vishram Dalvi, Principal, Tech Business Development, Just Walk Out Technology By Amazon
“This is my second year at FTE Global and the experience has been spectacular. The decision-makers have visited the booth to have conversations and it has just been a really good show. We have been busy for the entire two days. I think the important thing here is that the decision-makers attending the event are very high quality. One of the important things about the event is the networking opportunities – we have had good sessions during the evenings and also the coffee breaks, so the booth traffic has been fantastic. I have had the chance to attend a couple of the conference sessions – they are very well-positioned for what we are doing today, but even more importantly they are exploring what the future is bringing. We will definitely be back next year – the quality of attendees and prospects that we have is fantastic.” Jim Nation, Senior Account Manager, NEC
“It has been an incredible experience here at FTE Global. Last year was my first time attending and it keeps getting better every year. The amount of contacts we have made, the networking opportunities, and the chance to interact with the industry is a valuable experience – the right people are all here at FTE Global. The conference content is incredible, as it was last year. The social events at FTE Global are wonderful. The quality of visitors to our booth has absolutely met my expectations. 1,000%, we will absolutely be looking to return in 2023 – hopefully bigger and better.” Jessie Hillenbrand, Senior Director, Federal Marketing, IDEMIA
“I always enjoy coming to FTE Global. The number of visitors to our booth has been good. All of the key airlines, including American, Delta, Frontier and United plus others, have all come by, which is good. You do meet a lot of C-level executives at FTE Global and those are the people who need to get the products agreed within the organisation. One of the good things about this show is there is always a lot of interest from attendees on the technology – they actually all want to understand how it all works and how it all fits together, so it is a good event to show off technology.” Mike Sanderson, Director, ICM Airport Technics, Amadeus IT Group
“My overall experience here at FTE Global has been fantastic. I think this is really the premier event for the year. It has been the most exciting, the most well-attended, and it has been all levels of management. I have sat in on several of the conference sessions, which have been wonderful, especially the panel discussions. I would love to come back to this event in the future – next year and every year.” Cathy Rich, Head of Airport Operations, Americas, Collins Aerospace
“Overall, the experience being here at the show was very good. We are very satisfied with the results. The number and quality of people visiting our stand was good – they were the right people in terms of their responsibility roles and their airports. The networking opportunities and social events, especially during the coffee and lunch breaks, gave a lot of opportunity to get in touch with other exhibitors, visitors and participants in the conference. It has been the first time for us attending FTE Global and we are looking forward to attending again next year.” Christian Tischler, CFO, Sittig Technologies
“ We have been at FTE for at least the past three or four years. I like events like this because you can catch up with people and chat to airports and airlines. For instance, I managed to talk to some interesting entities such as Frankfurt Airport, Delta Air Lines and Atlanta Airport, so this was very important to me.” Peter van der Lende, Business Development, The Americas & Europe, ICM
“ We have had a fantastic show this year. It has been tremendous, especially in getting new customers interested in our solutions.” Robert Sikam, Portfolio Director, bagchain
“ The show has been great for us. We met with a lot of existing customers, but also a lot of new customers. We have made some really exciting contacts and we are really happy with how the show is going. I think FTE is one of the few shows that really brings a lot of airports from the US but also globally in one place.” Marc Rauch, Managing Director, Xovis USA
“ The participants who are here at the show are here to learn and that is what makes the show special. There is a lot of engagement. The meeting booking system was great and it worked really well for us and everybody showed up to the meetings.” Kasper Hounsgaard, Managing Partner, Copenhagen Optimization
“ There have been so many people visiting our booth. It has been fantastic in the exhibition. This is one of the best shows, if not the best, that we attend. We are meeting all the right people from airports and airlines. It’s an awesome place to connect.” Daniel Vandevenne, Account Manager, Brock Solutions
“ This is the show for the aviation market. Most of the key solution providers are here. The networking opportunities are fantastic – we’ve definitely been meeting the right people here.” E. DJ Lee, PhD, Director Global RFID Channel, Avery Dennison
“ We have had many people visiting our stand. There has been big interest in our (aircraft) seats and what we can do for the passenger experience. We have certainly met the right people at our stand. It is our first time here, and the show has exceeded our expectations.” Andrea Giordano, R&D Manager, Optimares
“ From an expo side of things, we’ve made some great connections, including new connections. It’s been a really good opportunity for us to see how things in the industry are going, how it is developing.” Greg Jones, Managing Director, Worldwide Hospitality & Travel, Microsoft

“ FTE Global has been great. We’ve had lots of people coming by the stand. We’re really interested in meeting airports, and the event has been very good for that. The show has met our expectations and we would come again.” Michael Moore, Director, Client Services, Aislelabs

There are very big opportunities here at the show and it’s nice to network with potential customers within the industry.” Borry Vrieling, Founder and Managing Director, eezeetags
“ It has been busy – once again a great show. The event grows every year. FTE Global is a staple for us.” Brad Iverson, Vice President – Sales, Embross
“ I’m getting to meet people I don’t normally meet at other trade shows. The quality of meetings we’ve had has been fantastic. The conference sessions I’ve been in have also been excellent.” Thomas B. Duffy, Managing Director, Gate Solutions, ADB Safegate
“ We have certainly met the right people here. The quality of contacts we have met has been brilliant…it has been perfect for us really. ” Robin Springer, Product Manager, Global Product Management, Information Management Services, Collins Aerospace
“ It’s the first time I’ve participated and the event has been excellent. There has been non-stop customer interaction and we have identified some very good leads. The event is even more interactive than I expected, and the networking and social aspects have been great.” Paul Nihill, Senior Account Manager Advanced Recognition Systems, NEC
“ We have got 8 to 10 solid leads. The people stopping by our stand are the right kind of people. I’ve been doing trade shows for 25 years and I can see that there’s a good mix of vendors here. The leads are for good potential customers. ” Keith Holt, Principal Solution Engineer, Salesforce
“ It has been a great event. There has been good traffic in the exhibition, and we have made several good contacts. The networking opportunities are excellent.” Jeana Schneck, Key Account Manager Commercial Displays HE B2B Division, LG Electronics USA
“The great thing for our team at FTE Global has been to try to understand what other people are doing and get great new ideas. I think United is doing more to innovate in more areas than any other airline in the world, but there’s still plenty of good ideas and innovation that’s happening outside and the opportunity to come to a place like FTE Global and learn what others are doing really helps get that creative engine firing and get more ideas. Our team wants to come back and share all the areas in which we are leading that sometimes people don’t know about – giving them the opportunity to come and show the pride that they have in that leadership role will be exciting.” Scott Kirby, Chief Executive Officer, United Airlines
“I always love coming to FTE Global – I have been coming for many years. It has always been the highlight of the year. It is really great to be in one place where everyone is thinking about how we can do things differently, think outside of the box, and work with all the different partners who are trying to help us to innovate. We are so excited and honoured to host FTE Global next year. We will throw a good party and provide Los Angeles-specific experiences, as well as making participants’ journey there pleasant and safe. We can’t wait till you’re all there.” Justin Erbacci, CEO, Neom Airports
“My experience at FTE Global was great. I have talked to a lot of smart people and had a great time. The social events and networkingopportunities have been fantastic. I have had the opportunity to sit in on the conference sessions. The topics were really good – they are unique, but they are relevant to all travellers, especially digital identity which is on the cutting-edge of technology. The exhibition has a really good range of companies – you can come and see all travel has. Based on my experience this year, I will be back for sure, so I am looking forward to it.” Yemi Oshinnaiye, CIO, Transportation Security Administration (TSA)
“My experience this year at FTE Global has been fantastic. It is my third consecutive time attending the event. The networking opportunities and social events have been terrific. The conference sessions have been fantastic as well. There are always interesting companies here in the exhibition hall – this year was certainly another success in that sense for me. I will absolutely be back at FTE Global again.” Charles Duncan, President, Norse Atlantic Airways
“As always, the networking opportunities have been fantastic. It has been really great to network with a lot of like-minded people. One of the things I love about FTE events is that we get people of a senior level from airlines, airports and vendors, so it has been great. It has been a really interesting exhibition – it is great to see a mix of well-established companies as well as start-ups, and also good to see a number of new launches. The conference sessions have been really interesting. I have been attending FTE Global for a number of years and am looking forward to going to LA next year.” Chris Annetts, Chief Strategy Officer, Heathrow Airport
“I have been attending FTE Global for over a decade and it is just incredibly refreshing to be not only in a learning environment, but a relaxed environment where we are able to engage in very healthy, forward-looking conversations and really try to push the boundaries. FTE Global is not the usual mundane conference, so I am super-proud of what you are doing. I have been absolutely overwhelmed by the number and quality of visitors to our booth. Of course, I will be back at FTE Global. It just never ceases to amaze me how much bigger and better the event becomes, and really that is the beauty of bringing airports, airlines and vendors together, along with regulators, so in an environment like that you can really never go wrong.” Brian Cobb, Chief Innovation Officer, Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport
“My experience at FTE Global has been fantastic. It is a great showcase of all the latest technology. It is very exciting – I am sort of overwhelmed by how much technology there is here, you can’t consume it all. Congratulations on such a fabulous show.” John Thomas, Chief Executive Officer, Connect Airlines
“This is my first time attending FTE Global and I have really enjoyed it. What I really like is it’s a great mix of not only our vendor partners, but also airlines and a good representation of international airports as well. It’s good to share information and network. I’ve really enjoyed the opportunity to get away and be strategic for a couple of days.” Mike Youngs, VP of Information Technology, Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport
“It is my first time attending FTE Global. I’ve really enjoyed the opportunity to tell the DFW digital twin story for the first time out in a public setting. It’s great to see what other airports are doing around this space – it’s going to take a village to transform this industry. It is this type of environment at FTE Global that allows us to exchange what worked, what didn’t work, and the new innovation and ideas that are coming together. We’re all going to leave this event better equipped for what we need to do for the mission.” Shaun Klann, Head of Strategic Growth, Willow
“LAX is obviously a great airport, so it is great to have the co-located FTE Global and APEX EXPO in Los Angeles this year. We are actually thinking about doing something special together with LAX and FTE for the show, so you can be surprised and looking forward to this.” Dr. Bjoern Becker, Head of Program Future Intercont Experience, Lufthansa
“ I have attended a number of FTE events over recent years, some as a delegate and others as a speaker. FTE Global in particular, always attracts a diverse mix of experts and professionals from across the world of aviation. What stands out against other conferences is the inclusion of hospitality, technologists and futurists who help delegates learn from other sectors, which enables a broader knowledge and understanding of what else we can do to promote the aviation sector. Networking opportunities and social events are always of the highest standard and allows old and new friends to come together in a relaxed and fun way.” David Wilson, Managing Partner, daa International
“ I felt that at Future Travel Experience the past week the conference has been excellent to not only be able to have though-provoking aviation discussions, but also to collaborate and connect to other airports and leaders in aviation.” Naashom Marx, Senior Manager Innovation, Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International
“ The networking opportunities are always fantastic at FTE Global. There has been a high level of interaction and engagement between delegates.” Rick Belliotti, Deputy Chief Officer - IT (CTO), Austin Bergstrom International Airport (AUS)
“ FTE Global is a wonderful event. I have met representatives from many different modes of travel, and heard what people need to think about in the next decades. In terms of networking, the right players are here to have conversations with.” Zachary Matthews, Senior Regional Manager, Business Development and Operations, US and Canada, Uber
“ I have particularly liked that the event helps from a strategic standpoint. FTE Global really allows for a holistic strategic mind-set. The conference sessions have been very relevant in terms of customer experience.” Michael Morford, Airport Concessions Manager, Dallas Fort Worth International Airport
“ It’s great that we’re hearing about disruption. Blurring the lines between industries is very important, and this event does that very effectively.” Rachel Walker, DDirector/MD Innovation & Solutions for Customer Contact Centers, United Airlines
“ I have been very happy with the conference sessions, which have been projecting us into the future. It’s my first time here at FTE Global and it has exceeded my expectations. I have met lots of different contacts – the event is very good for networking.” Aymeric Dussart, Vice President, Technology and innovation, ADM Aéroports de Montréal
“ The panel sessions have been excellent, with good interaction with the audience. It’s a very forward-thinking event and people here are not afraid to talk about the future.” Joshua Krall, Chief Technology Officer and Co-Founder, Boom Supersonic

During three days we were exposed to lots of insights and we were exposed to a broader way of approaching our business.” Alessandro Fusaro, MBA | Product Management & omni-channel Customer Experience, SkyTeam
“ The event has been very insightful. I’ve been to a lot of conferences, and the knowledge gained at FTE Global is unique and innovative. It’s very good that the event is all about collaboration. I will take some nice concepts home with me.” Maria Rosario C. Jocson, Assistant Vice President, Centre for Customer Management, Marketing Department, Philippine Airlines
“ As always, I come away inspired, with lot of ideas and new perspectives to try to push my organisation even further.” Guðmundur Daði Rúnarsson, Chief Commercial & Airport Development Officer, Keflavik (KEF) International Airport
“ I really enjoyed the event and seeing lots of interesting airlines and technologies. Highlights for me were the NASA and TSA talks and the collaboration work between the partners. There are differences we have, but it is very interesting to make it all come together.” Lilian Narumi, Passenger Services Manager, Singapore Airlines
“ I’ve been asked by a number of people how FTE compares to other events on the aviation circuit. My response is that it’s very much a case of quality over quantity, with a more focused selection of relevant speakers and discussion topics, rather than the broad brush approach used by others. It’s this focus on quality speakers, innovation and informative topics that makes FTE the success that it is.” Martin Bowman, Aviation Technology Director, Deloitte
“ The sharing amongst partners airlines and operators is what makes this show unique. Everybody gives a lot of insights on the issues and challenges of the industry and it is good to hear that there are similarities in the issues we are all facing.” Alphonsus Chan, Manager, Corporate IT & Technology, Changi Airport
“ The show has been tremendous so far. I managed to see some incredible presentations from a lot of great people from inside the industry. We were able to meet with a lot of vendors with whom we have talked to before, but it is great to meet them here in person, which makes it a lot more efficient for us to make decisions on how we drive the guest experience for passengers. For me, this event is really forward looking – it’s not just about what people have accomplished, but about what they were trying to accomplish. So, I think that’s very valuable, as we are trying to move the industry forward.” Bobby Schroeter, Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer, Spirit Airlines
“ Compared to some of the other industry events which are a lot broader, FTE really focuses on innovation, so that makes it different. It is always about new ideas and new technologies that could be applied in real life problems, so that’s what makes it unique.” Suhail Kadri, Senior Vice President Technology & Innovation, Hamad International Airport

The 10 best exhibitions not to miss in the USA in 2023
Dec 28, 2022 • 7 min read
EJ’s Hill’s “Brake Run Helix” is a fully functioning roller coaster that has taken over one of MASS MoCA’s largest galleries for 2023 © Kaelan Burkett / courtesy of MASS MoCA
The subject matter, the medium, the context: the best exhibitions bring everything together, turning art into a “here and now” experience. In simpler terms, you have to be there to feel it.
And there’s plenty to feel at museums across the country in 2023. Whether you want to rekindle a sense of wonder, trace the career of a distinguished artist, learn about something new or all of the above, this selection of exhibitions offers myriad opportunities to be inspired.
From rarely seen old-master works to thrillingly scary predator fossils to a fully functioning roller coaster in a museum, these are the 10 best exhibitions to see in the USA in the new year.
1. Edward Hopper’s New York
The Whitney Museum of American Art, New York City On view: now through March 5, 2023
Sometimes solemn yet never cold, Edward Hopper’s vivid paintings of solitude in the city are currently on display at the Whitney Museum of American Art . The show highlights New York through the eyes of Hopper, a New Yorker for nearly six decades. The exhibit explores seven different themes from Hopper’s New York City era, including Automat, 1927 , an oil portrait of a lone woman staring into a cup of coffee in an Automat diner; many of his stunningly dramatic theater scenes; and panoramic views of the city’s ever-changing architecture. After taking in the exhibition’s 200 or so Hopper works, walk to one of the Whitney’s several terraces for your own views of the Meatpacking District and cityscape beyond.
2. Mold-A-Rama: Molded for the Future
Museum of Science & Industry, Chicago On view: now through fall 2023
Part nostalgia trip, part engineering wonder, this exhibition at Chicago’s Museum of Science & Industry is a quirky look at the joys of melting and shaping plastic. The show explores the history of this plastic-molding machine, which debuted at the 1962 World’s Fair in Seattle – courtesy of inventor J.H. “Tike” Miller, who was inspired to build the device to replace missing pieces in his nativity set. On display, you’ll see the decades of innovation and fun that have come from the machine, starting with one of its first commercial figurines: a replica of the World’s Fair monorail. The best part of the exhibit is the opportunity to make your own custom plastic novelty, something that brings joy to creators of all ages.
3. Sharks
American Museum of Natural History, New York City On view: now through September 4, 2023
As you stand face to face with a replica of a megalodon, the biggest predatory fish of all time, it's a shock to realize how easily you could fit into the prehistoric shark’s mouth. Luckily, at this American Museum of Natural History exhibit you’re not in danger of being any ocean predator’s lunch – nor are you going to witness any live sharks taunting their own prey. The new show is a fascinating, up-close look at the predators that rule the ocean, complete with dozens of life-sized model replicas, fossils and interactive exhibits. Once you’ve had your share of the apex predators, head to the calming Hall of Ocean Life to stand under the world-famous, full-size replica of a blue whale that famously dangles from the atrium.
4. Senga Nengudi
Dia:Beacon, Beacon, New York On view: for the long term, starting February 17, 2023
As part of its occasional rotation of large-format installations and exhibitions, Dia:Beacon will debut a retrospective on artist Senga Nengudi’s five-decade-plus career as a multidisciplinary artist. Expect a wide-ranging presentation of the artist’s sculptures, fine art, performance art and writing along with occasional live-performance art events and readings. Negundi is known for her use of everyday materials like vinyl, water, nylon and sand to create sculptures and room-sized installations that are often meant to evoke and honor cultural rituals from around the world.
5. EJ Hill Brake Run Helix
MASS MoCA, North Adams, Massachusetts On view: now through January 2024
A roller coaster in a modern art museum? When it’s as beautifully engineered and as much of a spectacle as EJ’s Hill Brake Run Helix , there’s no question that art’s emotional thrills can also be physical. Built with the capacity of one lucky rider per run, Brake Run Helix is a custom single-rail coaster that serves as the stunning centerpiece of the artist’s first solo museum show, and which thrillingly fills MASS MoCA ’s largest gallery. Hill argues that he sees roller coasters as “public monuments to the possibility of attaining joy” – which is “a critical component of social equity.” The exhibit caters to both the guest who gets to ride the coaster, as well to the spectators who observe each rider’s joy (and perhaps terror). Reservations to ride the coaster sell out almost as soon as they are made available; check back regularly here for openings in the months ahead.
6. Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty
Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York City On view: May 5–July 16, 2023
This year’s exhibition from the Metropolitan Museum of Art ’s Costume Institute promises to be a showstopper: the first major retrospective of the work of designer, Chanel creative director and aesthete Karl Lagerfeld. Expect an immerse, in-depth look at the legend’s singular sense of style. Expect to get up close to more than 150 dresses designed by Lagerfeld, along with a fascinating narrative of his storied career, his unique work methods and the many famous people he styled through the decades. The Met gala 2023 will mark the opening of the exhibit on May 1 in a starry way; the public is welcome starting four days later. Plan your visit ahead of time, as demand to access these galleries will likely be high indeed.
7. Henry Taylor: B Side
The Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles On view: now through April 30, 2023
The largest museum showing to date for the celebrated Los Angeles painter, Henry Taylor: B Side is a retrospective of the artist’s 30 years of portraits, self-portraits and still lifes depicting Black life in America. The large-scale exhibition at Downtown LA ’s MOCA includes over 150 works, including paintings on canvas, drawings and installations – plus more…unusual sculpture mediums like cigarette packs, cereal boxes and other found objects that express his point of view in playful and approachable ways.
8. Nick Cave: Forothermore
Guggenheim Museum, New York City On view: now through April 10, 2023
Colorful faux flowers, mythical creatures, stunning murals: Nick Cave’s one-of-a-kind, multidisciplinary output is currently on display at the Guggenheim . The exhibition’s many highlights include Cave’s renowned “Soundsuits”: wearable sculptures, often crafted from found objects, that shimmer and bounce. A highlight of the show is Cave’s Spinner Forest , a large array of metallic wind spinners radiating color and perpetually in motion. The exhibition continues the artist’s commitment to creating a space for those who feel marginalized, particularly working-class communities and queer people of color.
9. Mark Rothko: Paintings on Paper
National Gallery of Art, Washington DC On view: November 19, 2023–March 31, 2024
Best known for his large-scale canvases that explore color and shape, Rothko created over 1000 paintings on paper throughout his storied career. This new exhibition at the National Gallery will highlight more than a hundred of his most celebrated paper paintings, some never before seen – ranging from some of the artist’s early figurative subjects to surrealist studies as well as his famous abstractions in color. Expect an illuminating look at the artist’s variety and wide-ranging scope.
10. Matisse in the 1930s
Philadelphia Museum of Art On view: now through January 29, 2023
In collaboration with the Musée de l’Orangerie in Paris and the Musée Matisse Nice, the Philadelphia Museum of Art presents a major exhibition dedicated to what is arguably Henri Matisse’s most pivotal creative decade. This major show brings together 140 works of art from the US and Europe, including both renowned and rarely seen paintings, sculptures, drawings and prints. The 1930s is when Matisse had a late-career artistic renewal, with inspirational sojourns to the US – in particular a mural commission he created for Philadelphia ’s Barnes Foundation . That commission was a turning point for Matisse’s return to easel painting, to which he brought a new outlook on colors and shapes. This can’t-miss exhibition vividly documents his creative watershed.

The first year of Travel Madness in 2012 was a big, phenomenal hit, generating at least 40,000 visitors and guests, and enabling an international credit card company to rake in PHP20 million worth of business in just three days.
TME is one of the biggest travel and trade fairs in the Philippines. It is supported by local and national tourism organizations, travel authorities, airlines, cruise lines, hotels, travel agencies, theme parks, insurance companies, schools, real property companies, and other business establishments in the retail and food industries.
TME’s successful display of destinations and cultures from around the world has made it a must-see event for travel enthusiasts.
The most recent edition, Travel Madness Expo 2023 (TME 2023), was held from June 30 – July 2, 2023, at Halls 1-4, Ground Floor, SMX Convention Center – Manila, MOA Compound, Pasay City. It was the 10th edition organized by Travel Innovators, Inc with the theme, “Travel: We’re back in full color.”
TME 2023 was the first face-to-face edition after the COVID-19 outbreak which struck the world in the first quarter of 2020. The 9th edition was cancelled in 2020 and was replaced by an online TME in 2022.
It seemed like a daunting task to start anew. However, with all the sacrifices each one of us in the travel and trade industry has made in the past years, saying that a pot of gold is waiting for us at the end of the rainbow might be inapt. Beyond the outbreaks are breakthroughs in the field that we all know is ever evolving, but it is the one place we find ourselves coming back to. Thus, TME 2023 was bravely staged.
Moving forward, we found ourselves simply having that passion to make things better for everyone. TME 2024 now brings you, a magical experience with the combination of travel, technology, and wonderful dreams.
The following entities are qualified to participate as Exhibitors with the approval of the Organizing Committee.

How to Survive a Travel Fair
Excited to go to a travel expo in 2023? To manage your expectations, attending a travel fair can be tiring. Depending on your goals, you’ll be walking around a lot and talking to different people.
To survive this event, here are a few tips to keep in mind:
👉 Decide on Your Destination
Before you head to a travel expo, decide on your destination or the kind of holiday you want. Doing so will narrow down your options and quickly lead you to the right supplier.
Seek inspiration from your friends’ past holidays or travel-centric groups on social media. Then discuss the plan with your travel buddies.
👉 Bring Your Credit Card
A lot of businesses at travel fairs partner with credit card companies to offer exclusive promos, discounts, and freebies. Bring your credit card to avail of them. Moreover, your credit card makes it easy to get a travel package or product in case you decide to book it right away.
Just a word of caution: avoid overspending by setting a budget limit.
👉 Come Early
Being an early bird comes with a few benefits. For one, there’s less competition and you can roam the area without bumping into other people. Second, you’ll be able to get a parking spot easily. This may mean waking up earlier than usual, but it will be worth it.
👉 Don’t Go In Hungry
As much as possible, come to the travel fair on a full stomach. That way, you’ll have the energy to walk around and talk to various exhibitors.
Nevertheless, some expos have booths where you can buy refreshments. There might even be hotel and catering suppliers who let attendees sample their offerings.
👉 Make Sure Your Phone is Fully Charged
You’ll be using your phone a lot at a travel fair. You’ll find yourself researching on the destinations, checking the background of a company, and paying for those bookings. You may even take pictures of the brochures to send to your family and friends.
With that, make sure that your phone is fully charged. Better yet, bring along your trusty power bank.
👉 Wear the Right Shoes
Travel expos are usually massive, which means you’ll be walking a lot. Take care of your feet by wearing comfortable shoes. [3] Avoid high heels or footwear that don’t offer proper support (e.g., flat shoes and slippers). While you’re at it, wear comfortable clothes.

How to Choose the Right Travel Agency
When you attend a travel expo this 2023, you may be overwhelmed by the number of tour operators and agencies offering attractive packages. But don’t just go for a travel agency that offers the cheapest services.
Avoid traveler’s remorse by picking the right partner. Here are some tips:
✔️ Check the Legitimacy of the Agency
Just because the operator is part of the expo doesn’t always mean it’s legit. You can check the agency’s credibility by looking at its partnerships and affiliations, how long it has been in the industry, and reviews of past clients.
✔️ Gauge the Agency’s Problem-Solving Capabilities
Traveling comes with many unpredictable issues, ranging from canceled flights to unavailable attractions. Ask your prospective tour operator about how it deals with such problems. Its solutions should be telling of its experience in the industry.
✔️ Look at the Communication Channels
Your travel agency should have multiple channels, so you can contact them immediately should the need arise.
✔️ Compare Prices
Ask different travel agencies about their prices for the same destination and number of days. But don’t just look at the price—you should also check the inclusions and the terms.
✔️ Check the Cancellation Policy
Some situations may keep you from traveling on your scheduled date. Ask the travel agency about its cancellation policy. Check how many days before the scheduled departure you can still request a cancellation.
✔️ Ask Around
You’ll know more about the travel agency by talking to people who have availed of their services. Ask them about their experience with the said agency, from the price covered to the quality of service.

Final Thoughts
Who doesn’t want to travel and experience new things? It may be a big expense, but there are ways to save money—and finding the best deals at travel expos this 2023 is one of them.
But don’t just go in blind. List down all your priorities and objectives. That way, you’ll be able to narrow down your options and ultimately make the best decision.
