Queens Of The Stone Age Announce The End is Nero North American Tour

After a triumphant return on the battlegrounds of Boston Calling and Sonic Temple, Queens of the Stone Age have announced the details of their North American tour, which will kick off on August 3rd in Sterling Heights, MI. Queens of The Stone Age and Citi pre-sales begin Tuesday, June 6th at 10am local time, with public on-sale following Friday June 9th, 10am local time. The east coast leg of the tour will feature support from Phantogram and The Armed. Viagra Boys and Jehnny Beth will support on the mid-west and west coast dates. 

The End Is Nero  tour is an invitation from Joshua Homme, Troy Van Leeuwen, Michael Shuman, Dean Fertita and Jon Theodore to come celebrate the end of the world, which we hear is “in a month or two.” They would like to encourage the obscene and the clean, the outcasts and the weirdos, and anyone and everyone in between to attend, this is where you belong. Leave your judgment at the door, bring anything and everything else. 

In Times New Roman … will be available digitally and physically on June 16th via Matador Records. On the eve of release fans are invited to ring in the long awaited album at MIDNIGHT CLUB parties taking place at record shops and pubs across 23 countries. The MIDNIGHT CLUB starts at 11pm June 15th and will feature giveaways, exclusive merch including limited edition colored vinyl, and—in a few select locations—signed merchandise and ticket giveaways. MIDNIGHT CLUB will provide the QOTSA faithful with a first chance to hear  In Times New Roman…  in its entirety, amongst friends, family and of course appropriate levels of bacchanalia.

Queens of the Stone Age Announce 2023 Tour

Queens of the Stone Age are going on tour in support of their new album, In Times New Roman… . After the band plays festivals in Europe and the United Kingdom, the North American leg of the tour begins in August and stretches into October. Support on the tour will come from Phantogram, the Armed, Viagra Boys, and Jehnny Beth. See Queens of the Stone Age’s tour dates below.

Queens of the Stone Age are calling their trek the End Is Nero Tour. A press release promises: “The End Is Nero tour is an invitation from Joshua Homme, Troy Van Leeuwen, Michael Shuman, Dean Fertita and Jon Theodore to come celebrate the end of the world, which we hear is ‘in a month or two.’ They would like to encourage the obscene and the clean, the outcasts and the weirdos, and anyone and everyone in between to attend, this is where you belong. Leave your judgment at the door, bring anything and everything else.”

In Times New Roman… is out June 16. It’s been led by the singles “Emotion Sickness” and “ Carnavoyeur .”

A Socal Tradition: The Native Plant Garden Tour

The Native Plant Garden Tour is a self-guided tour of California native plant gardens across Greater Los Angeles.  Since 2003, more than 700 public and private landscapes have participated in the Native Plant Garden Tour. Ranging from coastal container gardens to modernist foothill estates to experimental urban homesteads, each unique design offers beauty and critical habitat for wildlife in one of the world’s biodiversity hotspots.

Islands Above, Roots Below

As the ecosystems around us grow increasingly fragmented, islands of intact habitat persist amid a sea of development and human infrastructure. These reservoirs of biodiversity are sustained by the complexity of species relationships they harbor – relationships that are strengthened by connectivity and strained by isolation. The 2024 Native Plant Garden Tour seeks to shine a light on the native plant gardens that reinvigorate urban habitats – a system of roots that stretches through the developed landscape and brings our wild spaces closer to home. Join the Tour to find out how you can create an island of biodiversity, strengthening the ecological roots of Los Angeles with native plants.

This year’s Garden Tour features artwork by Alejandra Fernandez that brings the close relationship between plants and their accomplices – birds, bats, and insects alike – to life. Whether these flying creatures provide vital methods of seed dispersal or play a role in pollinating flowers, their presence in healthy ecosystems is key to the long-term survival and growth of the plant communities that make Los Angeles so unique.

Jefferson Airplane Takes Off is the debut album of American rock band Jefferson Airplane, released in August 1966 as RCA Victor LSP-3584 (stereo) and LPM-3584 (mono). The personnel differs from the later “classic” lineup: Signe Toly Anderson was the female vocalist and Skip Spence played drums. Both left the group shortly after the album’s release and were replaced by Grace Slick and Spencer Dryden, respectively.
