Kruger Park, a wildlife sanctuary, is home to five magnificent species: nearly 1,900 white rhinoceroses, 17,000 elephants, 48,000 buffaloes, 1,500 lions and 1,000 leopards. Hundreds of other animals share this area, such as vultures, eagles, zebras, giraffes, antelopes, cheetahs and crocodiles.

Kruger Park offers themed safaris, including ones for honeymoons and family experiences, horse-riding, bird watching and many more. Activities are led by experienced guides in open vehicles to help you appreciate the beautiful scenery and wildlife.

Pilgrim’s Rest

Just over two hours away from the hotel, the small museum-town of Pilgrim’s Rest preserves its mining and prospecting heritage, which evokes the gold rush of the 19th century. The town was declared a South African National Landmark in 1986.

Thanks to the generosity of visitors like you, we - in conjunction with The Aspinall Foundation (charity number 326567) - have released more than 75 gorillas back to the wild and our released gorillas have had over 35 wild births! In Indonesia, we have released 41 Javan gibbons, 14 Javan grizzled langurs and 125 Javan ebony langurs. The Indonesian primates have over 35 wild births. Steel your nerves as you journey through Dinosaur Forest !  Marvel at the tremendous T-Rex, stare at the Stegosaurus, feel the terror of the Pterodactyl, and delight at the sheer size of the diplodocus! Come face to face with prehistoric life-sized creatures in the UK’s largest dinosaur forest!

We’re not a zoo

• Port Lympne Reserve is a breeding sanctuary for rare and endangered animals and wherever possible we aim to send animals born here to protected areas of their natural habitat where they can live free – just as they should be.
• We always make sure that the animals come first, from enclosure design to diet, no expense is spared. We grow our own herbs and vegetables and source our meat from trustworthy suppliers.
• We design our enclosures with the animals in mind, so there’s lots of natural foliage and furniture to provide shelter and camouflage.
• We never lock our animals into viewing areas, so, just like in the wild, it may take some time to spot certain animals.
• We do our best to provide a fantastic visitor experience, whilst not forgetting the primary reason we’re here – to ensure the survival of endangered animals.

TRIPADVISOR An unbelievable experience We were all amazed at just how good this place is. We stayed in the hotel for two nights so got two full days in the park. Everything is so well organised and the safari drives are brilliant. You get to see so many animals close up. We have been to a South African safari and we saw more animals here than we did there. What Would Happen If AT&T Gets Rid Of Landlines? Angelenos Are Weighing In

Compton resident Joan Smith, 91, can still recite the number to her childhood landline phone.

To this day, she remains a loyal landline customer and says she has no interest in learning how to operate a cell phone. Her kids have repeatedly offered to buy her one over the years to no avail.

“I tell them, 'Well, if you buy it, then you're gonna waste money because I'm not going to use it,'” Smith said. “I just want my landline. It's completely dependable.”

Without a landline, Smith says she would feel disconnected from the outside world. She pays about $40 a month for service through AT&T, one of the largest providers in the state.

But the company is now asking for permission to phase out its copper-based landline network in California — a move advocates say could hurt some of the most vulnerable residents across the state, including older adults, people with disabilities and other groups affected by the digital divide .

The California Public Utilities Commission, the state regulator that will make the ultimate decision, has been asking for public comment. It held its final in-person and virtual public forum on the issue last week, drawing passionate objections from residents and advocates. You can still submit comments online, however.

What people are saying

Many people were concerned about how losing a landline network would affect not only daily life, but in times of emergencies. (Note: we will be exploring its affect on public safety in an upcoming story).

As of Monday, about 5,800 people had submitted their thoughts. Here's a selection:

• Arlene Patton of West Covina said she’s “profoundly hard of hearing” and depends on her landline phone to caption phone calls.
• Humberto Camacho of L.A. said landlines are a necessity, not a convenience, because mobile phones are “often lost or stolen or out of power.”
• Paula Miller of L.A. said, “Not everyone is savvy for complicated cell phones and computers. Killing the landline will kill a community of individuals who rely on it.”
• Christina Wallerstein of Pasadena said cell service is neither available nor reliable for everyone. “I know this from personal experience. AT&T needs to maintain landlines for the general safety and wellbeing of all California residents,” she said.

Carrier of last resort

AT&T says 5% of its customers, or 500,000 people, have traditional copper-based phone service.

The company has formally requested to be relieved of its “carrier of last resort” obligations in California, which require it to offer landline telephone service to anyone who requests it. Other providers could step in and offer landline service in those areas, but would not be legally required to do so.

If approved, according to its application, AT&T would only guarantee landline service to existing customers for six months. The company argues there are already alternative services in the vast majority of its service territory.

But Regina Costa of The Utility Reform Network (TURN), which is working to keep landlines in California, says most of the “alternative services” AT&T points to are wireless carriers with service that fails in power outages, and AT&T admits that there are no other potential carriers of last resort in its service territory.

“What they really want to do is push customers onto wireless services,” she said. “Well, our response to that is they're not always reliable… and that is a very scary thing.”

AT&T says it operates landline networks in 21 states, 20 of which have granted it permission to transition from “outdated” copper technologies to “more modern services" like fiber and wireless, according to a spokesperson. The company said it’s not canceling landline service overnight, but that the process could take several years.

“We’re working with the remaining consumers who use traditional landline service to upgrade to newer technologies,” AT&T said in a statement.

The CPUC says the public comment form will remain open until the agency makes a final decision in the coming months.

It's also suspended the calendar on AT&T’s application until April 30 so that other parties have more time to put together proposals to take over its service obligations.

My husband was at Ignite Medical Resort in Hanover Park for two months and I cannot say enough good things about the facility. The rooms and common areas were kept spotless. The doctors, nurses, aides and therapists were all very knowledgeable and caring and the food was excellent. . As much as we were happy to have my husband get discharged, we were sad to leave the friends we made during his treatment.

I don't even know how to begin this review because what I thought looked to be a beautiful place with nice nurses on the surface turned out to be the exact opposite for my grandma. My grandma was just in here last week for a bit, and she complained that everyone ignored many requests. She complained to them because although she has diabetes, they were giving her a smaller dose of her insulin, and they were cutting corners with her medication. The main reason this place absolutely SUCKS and why I wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemy is because on her last day here, she was legit complaining to the workers that they needed to call an ambulance for her because she was having trouble breathing even with a higher level of oxygen. One person told her they would just continue upping the oxygen, another told her they needed an APPROVAL from the doctor who met her for 2 seconds her first day there to okay them calling an ambulance for her before they did, and another nurse told her she called the ambulance... however, after an hour of waiting for the ambulance to arrive, my grandma asked where the ambulance was, and it was actually revealed that although the nurse told her they called the ambulance, they actually never did. My grandma, who suffers from kidney failure AND congestive heart failure, ended up waiting 2 HOURS for an ambulance to arrive, not because of the hospital but because of this awful place and the awful workers. I can't imagine a patient advocating for themselves and not being heard when an emergency is taking place. The doctor who met her for 2 seconds legit told them that she didn't need an ambulance and that "she isn't in critical condition". My grandma felt hot and wasn't feeling well, and when the nurses here took her temperature, they claimed she didn't even have a fever. Yet, once the ambulance finally arrived, they told my grandma she was burning up with a 102 FEVER. Then, the ER confirmed she had a heart attack when she arrived to the hospital. But remember, the dude said she's not in critical condition to leave. How dare this place call itself a 5-star luxury place. My grandma should also be on a sodium restriction, and they never even gave her one. She was able to order anything and everything she wanted, and trust me, she did. I am absolutely disgusted by how inhumane this place is, and I would never recommend it to anybody. Please do your research on this place without just trusting the basic 5-star reviews on Google that say, "Nice place!". My family trusted them, and they took horrible care our our family. Upon much research and public information, they have been fined for many inconsistencies and errors for the way they store medications and for many other issues.

It may seem rough to make the first review of this place 1 star, but I need to be honest. My mother-in-law has had some medical issues for a while and was in another rehab facility a few weeks back. She has also been in other rehab facilities before. Her needs are basically strength building for her legs and somewhat for upper body. But she needs bathing amd medication and the normal stuff elderly people need too This place advertises itself as a intensive rehabilitaion center and wellness center. With a spa. However my M-I-L went for 3 days after check in before getting any rehab. Christmas was 3 days after her first rehab day, and she skipped a couple more days after being left to rot for most of a week. They are so understaffed it is ridiculous. She didn't even see a doctor for 9 days after she went in and that was only after my wife made threats. And tonight 2 of the 3 staff for the night shift on her floor walked out. They left 1 person to care for 45 patients. I don't know what conditions would convince 2 caregivers to walk out on all these people, but it can't be good. Then it turned out even more staff was missing on other floors. The director of nursing worked all day, drove over an hour in to cover in the middle of the night, and then has to work tomorrow. I sympathize that getting medical workers has been worse since COVID, but if they can't take care of people, they shouldn't be open and they shouldn't be taking money from Medicare, insurance, what have you. We overheard hushed complaints from others, but you want to give the benefit of the doubt. Please be very catious and attentive to your loved ones if you send them here. Getting transferred out is very difficult if you want medicare to pay.

My grandfather had the worst experience in this facility. Horrible staff, we were quite disappointed, and no one picks up the phone. The director of nurses is incompetent, and they don't care. The doctor doesn't even exist in the facility. Good luck getting any updates. This place is understaffed, and my grandfather's room was always filthy. Don't ever trust this place with your loved one.
