“Our last tour featured our most ambitious production ever. So we decided to rip it apart and get even more ambitious. Watch out world,” guitarist Sir Brian May said.

The 150-minute show will celebrate the band’s “extraordinary back catalog” with fan favorites like “We Will Rock You,” “Don’t Stop Me Now”, “Radio Ga Ga”, “Somebody To Love,” and other classics.

Tickets go on sale Friday, March 31 at 10 a.m. at 313Presents.com , LiveNation.com and Ticketmaster.com . In the tour’s announcement, the group addressed recent issues with ticket sales.

“Queen + Adam Lambert appreciate that it is an enormous task to try and stop scalpers from taking advantage of fans wanting to purchase tickets for the tour,” the announcement said. “In an effort to help minimize resale and keep ticket prices at face value for fans, the band are collaborating with the venues’ ticketing partners to restrict the ability to transfer tickets for The Rhapsody Tour so that they may only be transferred between fans at the original price.”

Adam Lambert, Sir Brian May and Roger Taylor will be joined on stage by their regular band members, long-serving Queen keyboard player and musical director Spike Edney, bass guitarist Neil Fairclough and percussionist Tyler Warren.

“I can’t wait to tour North America one more time with the Rhapsody tour alongside the two unbelievably talented legends that are Brian May and Roger Taylor,” frontman Adam Lambert said.

MORE ON TICKETS:

Queen + Adam Lambert appreciate that it is an enormous task to try and stop scalpers from taking advantage of fans wanting to purchase tickets for the tour. In an effort to help minimize resale and keep ticket prices at face value for fans, the band are collaborating with the venues’ ticketing partners to restrict the ability to transfer tickets for The Rhapsody Tour so that they may only be transferred between fans at the original price.

Fans will still have protection against unforeseen circumstances. Those who purchase tickets and are no longer able to attend their show will be able to sell their tickets at the price they paid using a face value ticket exchange, including the Ticketmaster Face Value Exchange – which is free to use for buyers and sellers. More information on how the Ticketmaster Exchange works is available here .

Unfortunately, the states of NY, IL, and CO have laws in place which protect ticket scalpers – these laws prohibit artists from being able to restrict the transfer of their tickets to face value exchanges only. For shows in these states, Queen + Adam Lambert strongly encourage fans to only buy or sell tickets to one another on face value exchanges. More information can be found here , with more details to follow in the coming weeks.

You’d be hard-pressed to find a legacy rock band that’s remained as potent and vital — without its most identifiable member or new material — as Queen.

Iconic frontman Freddie Mercury is gone 33 years now, but guitarist Brian May and drummer Roger Taylor (bassist John Deacon retired long ago) have kept the band and its pile of hits alive via the likes of a jukebox stage musical (“We Will Rock You”), an Academy Award-winning film (“Bohemian Rhapsody”) and a carefully curated recording catalog. But the best thing they’ve done is their association with “American Idol” runner-up Adam Lambert, a teaming that proved its mettle once again with another performance of its ongoing Rhapsody Tour on Tuesday night, Oct. 10, at Little Caesars Arena.

Queen founders and Adam Lambert keep the band’s legacy alive

It was Queen + Adam Lambert's fourth appearance in the metro area, and while there were some differences -- outfits, staging elements, song lists -- one thing has not changed at all; it's the ultimate kind of rock tribute, with the credibility of two original members and songwriters and a frontman who ably channels everything fans loved about his predecessor, from Mercury's campy charisma to his octave-hopping pipes, best displayed during "Somebody to Love," "Who Wants to Live Forever" and "The Show Must Go On." "Every time we take the stage we have Freddie in our hearts," Lambert -- at 41 more than three decades the junior of May and Taylor -- told the crowd of about 14,000 on Tuesday.

The sextet had Mercury on screen, too; the late singer "sang" a verse, via video footage, during May's solo acoustic rendition of "Love of My Life,", appeared with the rest of the original Queen during taped portions of "Bohemian Rhapsody" and led the encore with call-and-response chant filmed during a July 1986 concert in London.

The troupe did Mercury and the fans' Queen memories proud during the rest of the 25-song, two-hour and 20-minute show. The staging was, as always, an over-the-top kind of elaborate, with massive screens, lasers, occasional pyrotechnic bursts, four opera-style "boxes" for fans just behind the band, a ramp that brought May, Taylor and Lambert to the center of the arena floor, trap doors from which band members emerged and hydraulic lifts that elevated Lambert and May -- the latter for an extended solo section during which he played a bit of Antonin Dvorak's "New World Symphony" while planet-like globes swirled around the guitarist in a nod to his other career as an astrophysicist.

And the hits were myriad throughout the night, starting with the coupling of "Machines (Or 'Back to Humans')" and "Radio Ga Ga" and rolling through muscular performances of "Stone Cold Crazy," "Another One Bites the Dust," "I Want It All," "Don't Stop Me Now," "Under Pressure," "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" and others. Lambert, who sported more than a half dozen outfits during the show, sang "Killer Queen" to a camera, his back to the audience, while sitting at a make-up mirror towards the rear of the stage. The group started "Tie Your Mother Down" with rootsy grit before tearing into the song's hard rock template after the first chorus.

Astute watchers, meanwhile, saw crew members side-stage bobbing up and down and dancing during May's solo performance of '39," which he dubbed "a science fiction folk song."

The encore was, as usual, a Queen dream, the thumping "We Will Rock You" leading into a reprise of "Radio Ga Ga" and the closing "We Are the Champions." The group was indeed -- and again -- triumphant as confetti filled spewed from the front of the stage, delivering another "celebration" (Lambert's term) of a band whose heritage remains in strong, caring hands.

Queen + Adam Lambert Announce 2023 North American ‘Rhapsody’ Tour Dates

By Andy Greene

Andy Greene

Queen + Adam Lambert are bringing their Rhapsody Tour back to North America for their first shows on this side of the Atlantic since 2019. The tour kicks off Oct. 4 in Baltimore, Maryland, and wraps up Nov. 11 in Los Angeles, California.

“This tour has lots of new bells and lots of new whistles,” Queen guitarist Brian May tells Rolling Stone . “We’ve evolved as performers, I think. We’ve stepped up our game. We have better chemistry than ever. We understand each other better than ever, and we feel more free in the way that we interpret stuff. We’re very happy with it. There’s lots of new production and stuff we want to excite you with.”

The set will focus on Queen classics like “Another One Bites The Dust,” “Somebody to Love,” and “Radio Ga Ga.” But they sprinkled in deep cuts like “Tear It Up” and “A King of Magic” in Europe last year, and hope to keep doing that.

“This show has evolved since its been in America since we’ve taken it around the world,” adds drummer Roger Taylor. “It’s quite a different show in a way, while retaining all the big hits, which so many people want to hear.”

Ticket sales begin Friday, March 31. In an effort to keep prices low and reduce scalping, the band is going to utilize the Ticketmaster Face Value Exchange, which makes it impossible to sell tickets for more than face value. “It’s an experiment,” says May. “We got sick of seeing our fans get ripped off by scalpers. We’re hoping this works out.”

Editor’s picks

The 250 greatest guitarists of all time, the 500 greatest albums of all time, the 50 worst decisions in movie history, every awful thing trump has promised to do in a second term.

Queen + Adam Lambert first played together on the 2009 finale of American Idol. They began gigging together in 2012, and have stayed on the road consistently over the past decade. Filling in for Freddie Mercury was a daunting task at first for Lambert, but he’s grown very comfortable with the job over the years.

“I feel less anxiety now,” he says. “I’ve matured as a performer. I trust myself a bit more. I will say that when the movie [ Bohemian Rhapsody ] came out, we had all these new fans, and many of them were young, I felt this little pang of, ‘Oh, these are new fans that haven’t been to a show yet.’ I needed to prove myself again, which is good. It keeps me on my game.”

The 2018 movie was an enormous success that grossed $911 million and won four Academy Awards, including Best Actor for star Rami Malek. It ends at Live Aid in 1985, and there’s been scattered talk over the past few years of a sequel that would chronicle Mercury’s final years.

“We need a script,” says May. “That’s what it comes down to. It took us 12 years to get the script for Bohemian Rhapsody , and get the right team in place. I’m not anxious. I think if the right thing comes along, it might work. We have our wonderful producer, Graham King, on it. It’s a possibility. If the right planets align, it might happen.”

At the moment, this next leg of the Rhapsody Tour is just 14 shows, but it’s very possible they’ll tack on more. “People are buying tickets,” says Lambert. “And hey, we like performing.”

Queen + Adam Lambert Unveil North American ‘Rhapsody’ Tour Dates: ‘These Are New Glory Days’

Queen Adam Lambert

“These are kind of new glory days for us,” said Queen guitarist and founding member Brian May, who was literally knighted by King Charles III earlier this month. “It’s nice to think that hopefully there will be the demand for that.”

But the guitarist, along with founding drummer Roger Taylor and singer Adam Lambert , was on the other side of the Atlantic in Thursday, in New York to announce the group’s 14-show North American leg of its “Rhapsody” tour — its first since 2019 — which runs from Oct. 4 through Nov. 11.

The tour follows last year’s 36-date summer tour across the U.K. and Europe, which included a 10-date residency at London’s the O2 Arena and opening the Platinum Jubilee Concert at Buckingham Palace in recognition of the late Queen Elizabeth II’s 70-year reign.

Shows on the overseas “Rhapsody” tour dates featured around 25 songs plus four encore numbers, and included the hits “Killer Queen,” “Fat Bottomed Girls, “Another One Bites the Dust, “We Will Rock You / We Are the Champions” and the song with more than 2 billion Spotify streams that lent its title to a film and this tour, “Bohemian Rhapsody.”

Queen promises some deeper cuts on this jaunt. Lambert says, “I’m not sure exactly what we’ll pull out for this one. Look, I would be happy just to show up and do what I was told if that was how it was. But I’ve been really fortunate to work with these two gentlemen who are very collaborative, and we get to all throw ideas in and work things out. I’m really grateful for that it makes me even more invested in it.

It’s been a decade since the group’s first live American concert, though the first time they performed was in 2009 when May and Taylor were guests on the eighth season of “Idol.” May remembers the first actual American concert in Las Vegas in 2013 for the iHeart Music Festival: “It felt so good both internally and from the [crowd] reaction that we thought, ‘My God, this is something we shouldn’t be letting go.’ I think we foresaw some kind of future, didn’t we? But not quite as big as it actually happened. It’s been colossal.”

Lambert agreed, “I don’t think I would have imagined that it would have been the gift that keeps on giving.”

The current Rhapsody tour features Queen + Adam Lambert’s regular band members, longtime keyboard player and musical director Spike Edney, bass guitarist Neil Fairclough and percussionist Tyler Warren. Founding bassist John Deacon left the band and effectively retired from music following Freddie Mercury’s 1991 death, and chose not to be present at Queen’s induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2001.

Despite a 30-year-plus age difference between Lambert, 41, and May, 75 and Taylor, 73, the three have an easy camaraderie that’s evident both onstage and off. Lambert was only three when Queen’s iconic 1985 Live Aid performance rocked the world, but it was something he got to recreate at the Fire Fight fundraiser concert in Sydney, Australia in February 2020, a month before Covid shut down the world.

As a fan growing up, Lambert was familiar with Queen’s Live Aid footage. “But when it came time to first join the band on stage, I was like, ‘I have to know my stuff’ so I watched as much as I could. Besides Live Aid, one of my favorite things was Montreal concert where Freddie was running around in a pair of itty bitty white shorts and no shoes,” Lambert says. “I just I remember seeing that and going ‘This guy’s amazing.’ He was so free and ridiculous and just full of joy and I’ve been so inspired by that spirit. I try to approach shows with that same humor…”

“And shorts?” Taylor quipped.

“Not the shorts for me — Freddie had much better legs,” Lambert concluded.

A general on sale date for the Queen + Adam Lambert  U.S. tour is March 31, and in light of exorbitant ticket prices and “dynamic pricing,” the band stated in a release that “In an effort to help minimize resale and keep ticket prices at face value for fans, the band are collaborating with the venues’ ticketing partners to restrict the ability to transfer tickets for the Rhapsody tour so that they may only be transferred between fans at the original price.”

Having first launched their universally acclaimed Rhapsody Tour with 26 epic shows across North America during June & July 2019, Queen + Adam Lambert are taking their highly acclaimed production, now expanded and updated, back to where it first began.

Sir Brian May, Roger Taylor and their exceptional frontman Adam Lambert are returning for a further spectacular North American run of sold out shows which gets underway next week with its opening show Wednesday October 4 in Baltimore.

Promising an “even more ambitious show”, the band’s 23-date US tour begins October 4 with the first of two shows at Baltimore’s CFG Bank Arena continuing throughout North America including stops in Toronto, New York, Boston, Philadelphia, Chicago, Dallas, Denver and further cities before closing out with a pair of dates at Los Angeles’s BMO Stadium November 11 and 12. In addition, the band will perform a special one-off headliner on October 21 at the Formula 1 Lenovo U.S. Grand Prix at Circuit of The Americas, Austin, Texas.

Brian May says, “We’re still calling our show “The Rhapsody Tour,” but the content has evolved massively from when you last saw it. New toys, new takes, but all the hits and more.”

Says Adam Lambert says: “I consider it a beautiful twist of fate that I was put on a path that aligned me with Brian and Roger. I can’t wait to tour North America one more time alongside the two unbelievably talented legends that are Brian May and Roger Taylor.”

Roger Taylor adds: “Adam is certainly a real force on stage. It’s been nothing but a riotously funny and enjoyable journey with him. He is simply one of the best vocalists in the world – FACT!”

Queen + Adam Lambert’s 150-minute career-spanning set list celebrates the band’s extraordinary back catalogue, lining up immortal anthems like “We Will Rock You”, “Don’t Stop Me Now”, “Radio Ga Ga”, and “Somebody To Love” alongside classic deep cuts and vintage fan favourites.

Featuring a dazzling state-of-the-art stage design, incredible special effects and set pieces, this sense-swamping extravaganza has been blowing critics and fans away the world over since its very first unveiling in North America in 2019 .

It has been over a year since the band last toured their acclaimed “Rhapsody Tour,” which was highlighted across the world in royal fashion Saturday June 4, 2022 with a special performance in front of London’s Buckingham Palace as the opener for the Platinum Jubilee concert celebrating the late H.M. Queen Elizabeth’s 70-year reign, providing an altogether magnificent opener for its UK & European run of sold-out dates which saw the band play the Rhapsody tour across the UK and 11 countries throughout Europe, in all playing a total of 36 concerts.

The 2023 North American tour will see Queen + Adam Lambert supported on stage by their regular band members, long-serving Queen keyboard player Spike Edney, bass guitarist Neil Fairclough and percussionist Tyler Warren.

Having extensively toured since it first debuted in North America in 2019, the Rhapsody show is forever evolving. But it remains at heart a tribute to Freddie Mercury’s majestic legacy, a confirmation of Brian and Roger’s undimmed musical prowess, plus a magnificent showcase for Adam’s vocal skills and electrifying stage charisma, all adding up to a glorious full-blooded celebration of one of the greatest songbooks in rock history.

Unraveling the Mysteries: Meet the Intriguing Male Cast of 'Diarra From Detroit'

queen tour detroit

The ensemble surrounding "Diarra From Detroit" finds themselves entangled in the perplexing cold case, inadvertently drawn into its depths. Initially perceived as peripheral figures, the male characters were thought to contribute merely as supporting actors in Diarra's narrative. However, as the story unfolds, it becomes evident that each of them harbors ties to the enigma surrounding Ambien Chris/Deonte Brooks. Despite their initial reluctance, they find themselves thrust into the heart of the mystery, each playing a crucial role in unraveling the layers of intrigue surrounding the case.

Swa Brickland

Imagine being married to an affluent lawyer who looks like Morris Chestnut , and one day it's over because you can't have kids, and he wants an open relationship. In many ways,  Swa is the catalyst for the story. If it wasn't for her anxiety over their impending divorce, she wouldn't have had trouble sleeping and so much pent-up anger, which led to the Tinder date that reopened a cold case. Also, Swa's brother works down at the police station who has been tracking Diarra's potential involvement in the murder of a Russian contract killer.

When we first meet Danger, he's attempting to rob Diarra in her own home. Turns out, they're childhood friends and he's soon advising her to speak with his therapist and making silver dollar pancakes. As Diarra and Danger get closer, we learn he has a connection to the crew pressing Moni's husband for money, the same crew who might be involved with the Greek mob.

Tea is one of the more grounded characters, but he's way too supportive of Diarra not to be involved in her hijinks. In addition to helping her crack the cold case, he's there to let her know when she's being Captain Extra. But Tea finds himself a little too tied up in the mystery himself since the DJ he's dating is the remaining factor who can place Diarra at the scene of a murder.

Ambien Chris / Deonte Brooks

He seemed too good to be true, so he has to be a con artist, right? The core mystery of the show kicks off when Diarra realizes her Tinder date, Chris, who helped her get eight hours asleep after a night of passion, is also a child who went missing in the 90s. But why would someone who was kidnapped return to the city of his abduction only to be kidnapped again? What makes him so valuable? So far, Chris might be in the crosshairs of the Mob, who use Greek restaurants as a front.

But that's too easy. With a few more episodes, we'll finally be able to solve the mystery of Chris/Deonte and see if he's truly worth Diarra's romantic time and energy. We'll also see if Diarra can finally get Swa out of her system if Danger tells her the truth, and if Tea's new fling ends up being a snitch.

“Diarra From Detroit” premieres on BET+ every Thursday.

Missy Elliott has once again flipped it and reversed it.

This summer, the popular rapper — and first female Hip-Hop artist inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame — is embarking on her first-ever headlining tour with special guests Busta Rhymes , Ciara and Timbaland .

The 24-concert jaunt, dubbed the ‘Out Of This World Tour,’ will send the quartet to arenas all over North America including Belmont Park, NY’s UBS Arena on Aug. 3, Newark, NJ’s Prudential Center on Aug. 9 and Brooklyn’s Barclays Center on Aug. 12.

“Fans have been asking me to tour forever but I wanted to wait until I felt the time was right because I knew if I was ever going to do it, I had to do it big, and I had to do it with family,” the 52-year-old Elliott shared in a press release.

“Get ready to be taken OUT OF THIS WORLD with me, Busta Rhymes, Ciara, and Timbaland! We can’t wait to share this experience with the fans!”

And if you’re a fan that can’t wait to “Get Ur Freak On” with Elliott, tickets are available for all 24 North American concerts as soon as today.

Although inventory isn’t available on Ticketmaster until Friday, April 12, fans who want to ensure they have tickets ahead of time can purchase on sites like Vivid Seats before tickets are officially on sale.

Vivid Seats is a secondary market ticketing platform, and prices may be higher or lower than face value, depending on demand.

They have a 100% buyer guarantee that states your transaction will be safe and secure and will be delivered before the event.

Train strikes in April and May 2024: Full list of dates and lines affected

Overtime bans, an action short of a strike, also mean some services may not be running or may be reduced as drivers refuse to work their rest days.

Monday 8 April 2024 06:40, UK

queen tour detroit

Drivers at 16 rail companies have started a fresh wave of strikes, plus overtime bans, causing disruption to the rail network.

The strikes are part of a long-running dispute over pay and will take place across April and May.

Tube strikes planned for April and May have been called off.

In an "entirely separate dispute", ASLEF members will also strike and refuse to do overtime at LNER on specific dates in April "because of the company's failure to adhere to the agreed bargaining machinery", the union said.

LNER's alleged failure to adhere to bargaining machinery refers to it using managers to drive trains on strike days.

People are advised to check before they travel.

Here's what's happening when:

Rail strike dates

Friday 5 April

Strikes will affect Avanti West Coast, East Midlands Railway, West Midlands Trains, and CrossCountry.

Saturday 6 April

Strikes will affect Chiltern, GWR, LNER, Northern, and TransPennine Trains.

Monday 8 April

Strikes will affect Greater Anglia, c2c, GTR Great Northern Thameslink, Southeastern, Southern/Gatwick Express, South Western Railway main line and depot drivers, and SWR Island Line.

Overtime ban dates

Thursday 4 April

Tuesday 9 April

People are advised to check before they travel, as some areas may have no service.

LNER action dates

Members will strike on Saturday 20 April and refuse to work non-contractual overtime from Friday 19 to Sunday 21 April .

Why are the strikes happening?

ASLEF says the LNER strikes are because of "the company's persistent failure to comply with existing agreements".

Nigel Roebuck, an ASLEF organiser in the northeast, said the operator had been trying to get "every driver manager and driver instructor to work on strike days".

A spokesperson said: "LNER has used managers - paid £500 a shift - to drive trains on strike days and, after the expiry of the last non-contractual overtime agreement, on most days of the week now.

"There is no agreement in place for management to drive services on mainline infrastructure.

"It results in branch line services - such as Lincoln, Skipton, and Harrogate - being cancelled because of a lack of route knowledge and means virtually no driver training is being done."

Mick Whelan, ASLEF general secretary, said of the rail strikes : "Last month, when we announced renewed mandates for industrial action, because under the Tories' draconian anti-union laws we have to ballot our members every six months, we called on the train companies, and the government, to come to the table for meaningful talks to negotiate a new pay deal for train drivers who have not had an increase in salary since 2019.

"Our members voted overwhelmingly - yet again - for strike action."

A Rail Delivery Group spokesperson said: "Nobody wins when industrial action impacts people's lives and livelihoods, and we will work hard to minimise any disruption to our passengers.

"We want to resolve this dispute, but the ASLEF leadership need to recognise that hard-pressed taxpayers are continuing to contribute an extra £54m a week just to keep services running post-COVID.

"We continue to seek an agreement with the ASLEF leadership and remain open to talks to find a solution to this dispute."

When the strikes on the London Underground were announced, Finn Brennan, ASLEF's full-time organiser on the network, said in a statement: "ASLEF Tube train drivers will strike in April and May in a long-running dispute over London Underground's failure to give assurances that changes to our members' terms and conditions will not be imposed without agreement and that all existing agreements will be honoured.

"Despite a previous commitment to withdraw plans for massive changes to drivers' working conditions, London Underground management has established a full-time team of managers preparing to impose their plans.

Sadiq Khan said they had been called off after "talking and engaging with transport staff and trade unions rather than working against them".
