I am unbelievably disappointed having spent £120.00 that I only saw some of The Hives. I left the festival in 30 degree heat, unable to get a drink unless I was prepared to queue for up to, or over 2 hours. This was unfeasible given the temperatures and the fact that I would miss the bands.

I was then told I was not allowed to re-enter the festival if I left. THIS WAS OUTRAGEOUS! We were not allowed to take refreshments inside the festival. We COULD NOT get a drink inside the festival and then were penalized for getting refreshment outside the site. Why was there no re-entry? This policy should have been immediately changed when you realised you were unable to provide adequate refreshment.

I would expect a refund as this was a terrible experience and one I will never repeat. I missed the bands I wanted to se because of your dreadful lack of planning.

I expect a reply please at your earliest convenience.

It was a pretty poorly organised affair if I am completely honest.

The queues for the bars were totally ridiculous and some of my friends left early as they were just so fed up with waiting for a drink.

That said, the bands were staggeringly good. I've been following QOTSA since 200 and have lost count of the number of times I've seen them but can honestly say that this was amongst the best I have seen them. Josh was on good form and the crowd were loving it. (Iggy had warmed them up nicely).

Before that we saw Brody Dalle, whose new stuff is excellent and benefited from the drummer and guitarist from Savages helping her out.

Deap Vally were excellent, as were Skinny Girls Diet but somehow, Miles Kane didn't fit into the line up.

Nice shows, shame about the organisation!

Queens of the Stoneage were Amazing,I have seen them Twice in the UK but this Gig was so much Better,Josh Homme & the Band were on Top Form Playing All their Big Singles Aswell as Tracks which they would not Normally Play like Songs From The Deaf & Millionaire which were Amazing,We came to the Gig Because Royal Blood were Supporting & we are Massive Fans of Theirs After Seeing Them Live in Cardiff on Their How Did We Get So Dark Tour Last November in Cardiff,I would Love to See Queens Of The Stoneage Play in the Motorpoint Arena in Cardiff as on this Album Tour they only played London & Manchester which was a Real Disappointment as we always try to see them,we Seen them on the Era Vulgaris Tour in the 02 in Bristol when Josh Homme was not well & the Like Clockwork Tour in Birmingham 21/11/13 which they were good,I would love them to come to the Capital of Wales to play as they do have Loads of Fans here too,Fingers Crossed.

QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE Announces December 2023 West Coast Tour Dates

QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE have announced a run of West Coast dates to round out their epic worldwide "The End Is Nero" tour. Following another run of sold-out arenas across Europe, the band will resume its North American campaign in Phoenix, sweeping through the Southwest before wrapping up 2023 in grand fashion with a Saturday, December 16 headline at the Kia Forum in its homebase of Los Angeles.

QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE is pleased to announce SPIRITUALIZED will be opening this run of December dates in North America. Led by J Spaceman , SPIRITUALIZED is supporting its ninth album, "Everything Was Beautiful" .

"The End Is Nero" tour is in support of the eighth QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE studio album, "In Times New Roman…" , recently hailed by Variety as "self-produced by band founder [ Josh ] Homme and one of his strongest QOTSA lineups ever, is one of the rawest and heaviest albums the band has delivered, and during Queens, New York stop of their 'The End Is Nero' tour, they proved that sometimes the new material can be a live standout…"

Tickets for the newly announced dates will be on sale Friday, September 22 at 10 a.m. local time.

Newly announced "The End Is Nero" dates:

Dec. 05 - Phoenix, AZ - Arizona Financial Theatre Dec. 06 - El Paso, TX - Abraham Chavez Theatre Dec. 08 - Austin, TX - Moody Center Dec. 09 - Houston, TX - 713 Music Hall Dec. 10 - Irving, TX – The Pavilion at Toyota Music Factory Dec. 12 - Albuquerque, NM - Revel ABQ Dec. 15 - San Diego, CA - Viejas Arena Dec. 16 - Los Angeles, CA - Kia Forum

QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE performed live for the first time in more than three years on May 26 at the Sonic Temple festival in Columbus, Ohio. Prior to the Columbus gig, Josh Homme and his bandmates played one gig in early 2020, their first since 2018.

QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE 's new album, "In Times New Roman…" , was made available digitally and physically on June 16 via Matador Records .

"In Times New Roman…" was recorded and mixed at Homme 's own Pink Duck (RIP),with additional recording at Shangri-La . The album was produced by QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE and mixed by Mark Rankin . Artwork and double LP gatefold packaging was designed by longtime collaborator Boneface . LP vinyl was made available globally in black, green, red, silver and blue.

QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE said in its album announcement that the record reflects the heartache its members have experienced in the past few years.

QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE 's previous album, 2017's "Villains" , debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 chart.

"In Times New Roman..." is "raw, at times brutal and not recommended for the faint of heart," a press release states. "And yet, it's perhaps the most beautiful and definitely the most rewarding album in their epic discography. Homme 's most acerbic lyrics to date are buoyed by the instantly identifiable QOTSA sonic signature, expanded and embellished with new and unprecedented twists in virtually every song. With 'In Times New Roman…' we see that sometimes one needs to look beneath scars and scabs to see beauty, and sometimes the scabs and scars are the beauty."

Queens Of The Stone Age has announced details of a new North American tour, The End Is Nero , set to take place later this year.

The dates will kick off in Sterling Heights, MI, on August 3 and continue through October 8, when the tour will wrap up with an appearance at Aftershock festival in Sacramento, CA. Along the way, the band will perform at the likes of Washington D.C.’s The Anthem, New York’s Forest Hills Stadium, and Chicago’s Riot Fest .

QOTSA will be joined by Phantogram and The Armed for the dates in August, while Viagra Boys and Jehnny Beth will open for it in September and October.

Tickets will go on general sale at 10am local time on Friday (June 9). A Citi pre-sale will give Citi cardmembers access to a special pre-sale between 10am local time today (June 6) and 10pm local time on Thursday (8). Find tickets and more information on the band’s official website .

The End Is Nero tour is an invitation from Joshua Homme, Troy Van Leeuwen, Michael Shuman, Dean Fertita, and Jon Theodore to come celebrate the end of the world, which they say they hear is “in a month or two.” In a press release, the band said it would “like to encourage the obscene and the clean, the outcasts and the weirdos, and anyone and everyone in between to attend, this is where you belong. Leave your judgment at the door, bring anything and everything else.”

The North American dates follow a series of intimate UK QOTSA shows set to take place later this month, ahead of the band making an appearance at Glastonbury Festival. On either side of those shows, it will also perform at a handful of European festivals, including Poland’s Open’er and Spain’s Mad Cool.

Last year, the band reissued three of its albums on vinyl , including its 1998 self-titled debut record, 2013’s Like Clockwork , and 2017’s Villains . On June 16, it will return with a brand new record, In Times New Roman…

Josh Homme Initially Felt Queens of the Stone Age’s ‘Like Clockwork’ Was a ‘Mistake’

I t may be one of their most successful albums, but Queens of the Stone Age ‘s Josh Homme reveals he initially felt doing the … Like Clockwork album was “a mistake.”

It’s an interesting admission from the Queens of the Stone Age frontman, who within the same thought process also told host Dean Delray on the Let There Be Talk podcast that he also feels the album best represents who he is.

What Josh Homme Thought of Queens of the Stone Age’s …Like Clockwork

In the midst of their discussion of favorite works from the band, Homme spoke of … Like Clockwork being his favorite of the band’s albums.

While admitting it was “so dark,” the musician stated, “It’s the one that I think most accurately represents us and myself. I’m like that [album]. That’s what I’m like is that record.”

That said, Homme recalls wondering if his dive into darker territory meant that a regression was coming in their career.

“I remember saying to the guys that I was so convinced that it was a mistake. It wasn’t going to change anything, that I just want to say before it comes out I’m really sorry and if we end up having to just headline the Troubadour again you won’t see me anymore. So I kind of apologized to the band,” he recalled.

“It was like, ‘Hi my name is Josh. This is not gonna go well.’ I just felt that I was adamant that it would be the end, but it was the exact opposite of that.”

What Was the Reception for Queens of the Stone Age’s …Like Clockwork?

…Like Clockwork arrived after the longest break in the band’s history. The album was released in 2013, following the 2007 effort Era Vulgaris .

It hit No. 1 on the Billboard 200 Album Chart, yielding the songs “My God Is the Sun,” “I Sat By the Ocean” and “Smooth Sailing” among others. That was their first and only chart-topping album on the Billboard 200.

It’s been one of the band’s most critically praised albums, even topping Loudwire’s Best Rock Albums of the Year for 2013 .

In addition, Queens of the Stone Age earned three Grammy nominations from the record, including Best Rock Album, Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical and Best Rock Performance (“My God Is the Sun”).

READ MORE: Josh Homme Calls Dave Grohl the ‘Other Love of My Life’

The Rule of 3

Within the chat with Delray, Homme also revealed another way in which he views the album.

“I like to work in three record cycles. And I think Lullabies and Era were trying to find the next cycle to start. So like kicking the can around and seeing what comes out of it,” admitted the singer. “But it felt like In Times New Roman and Villains come with Like Clockwork , like a whole.”

If the “Rule of 3″ were to hold true, the band’s self-titled debut album, Rated R and Songs for the Deaf would be lumped together. Admittedly, as Homme just revealed, Lullabies to Paralyze and Era Vulgaris were attempts at starting a new cycle, but …Like Clockwork truly kicked off the next grouping.

That would seemingly kick off a new cycle for Queens of the Stone Age with whatever follows In Times New Roman.

Where You Can See Queens of the Stone Age

The Grammy-nominated rockers are back on the road this month in Japan, Australia and kicking off next month in New Zealand. A Canadian tour follows in April with more U.S. dates in May, so be sure to pick up your Queens of the Stone Age concert ticktets .

QOTSA beim Hurricane:

Desert-Rock-Feeling bei Queens of the Stone Age

queens of the stone age tour with

queens of the stone age tour with

queens of the stone age tour with

queens of the stone age tour with

Queens of the Stone Age Headline Australia’s First Lookout Festival

by Paul Cashmere on February 19, 2024

Australia’s newest music festival Lookout got off to a massive success in Torquay, Victoria on Sunday with headliners Queens of the Stone Age as well as Australia’s The Chats, Spiderbait, Pond, Gut Health and Lola Scott.

The sunset kickoff made for a perfect backdrop for the band with Josh Homme citing the reverence of Bells Beach, the beach made famous in the Patrick Swayze/Keanu Reaves movie ‘Point Break’, as his view from the stage.

LookOut was held at Torquay Common, in the beach side town of Victoria with the start of The Great Ocean Road at the front gate of the venue.

QOTSA hit just before sunset with one everyone in the crowd knew, ‘No One Knows’ and they were off. Queens are currently on their ‘The End Is Nero’ work tour. Josh had a few cryptic mentions along the way about songs “written about a girl from Fitzroy”, a reference to Australian ex-wife Brody Dalle who grew up in the Melbourne suburb and who has been the topic of a recent and bitter divorce.

Over the next two hours the band revisited every QOTSA age except the 1998 self-titled debut. 2000’s ‘Rated R’ only got a place once with ‘I Think I Lost My Heartache’ but ‘Songs for the Deaf’ from 2002 with five songs got more coverage than the recent ‘In Times New Roman’ from 2023 with four tracks.

More guitars from Troy Van Leeuwen and Dean Fertita boosts Homme to give a wall of guitars from the very start with Michael Scuman on bass and Jon Theodore on drums making a powerful rhythm section.
