Foraging & Farm Tours

There’s nothing like experiencing these flavours at their source. Join vegan chef Doreen Williams James on a foraging tour of the Bermudian countryside. Sample dishes made with prickly pear, fennel and other ingredients found along the way at the cooking demo that follows the tour.

Take Afternoon High Tea

With its strong British cultural influences, it’s only natural that Bermudians observe high tea – and do so in style. Crown & Anchor, a restaurant at  Hamilton Princess & Beach Club , serves it every day alongside breathtaking views of Hamilton Harbour. On the East End, you’ll find high tea service in the back garden at the  Bermuda Perfumery . Enjoy herbal infusions served alongside scones topped with local jam and Chantilly cream.

Catch & Cook Spiny Lobster

September marks the start of  spiny lobster season  in Bermuda. Smaller than its distant cousin, the Maine lobster, and with a harder shell and no claws, it’s known for its tender meat found mostly in its tail, legs and antennae. Through March, restaurants serve the crustacean in dishes such as chowder, spring rolls and ravioli with cream sauce. An exciting way to enjoy it is to catch it alongside a licensed local lobster diver, then cook it back on shore (pro tip: don't forget the butter). If you’re short on time but craving a cook-your-own experience, head to the fishermen's stands near Burchall Cove in Hamilton Parish to purchase lobster fresh off the boat.

Food Tours in Bermuda: A Complete Guide

What are food tours.

Bermuda Food Tour

The Tours & Operators

Tips and suggestions.

  • If this is your first visit to Bermuda, it is a good idea to take the food tour towards the beginning of your visit. This helps greatly in familiarising yourself with its layout, ways and culinary delights early on in your visit. You learn about the best places to shop and put up along the tour, so you can always visit these places again later in your stay here.
  • Although most tours take care of unforeseen weather challenges like a sudden downpour of rain, check the weather conditions for your date of the tour so you can dress in accordance with it or carry necessary ponchos/ umbrellas/ wind jackets etc with you.
  • Since some these tours involve tastings of alcoholic beverages and the legal drinking age in Bermuda is 18, carry your valid identification/ age proof with you.
  • Wear comfortable clothes and a good pair of walking shoes/ sneakers on the tour as this involves a good deal of walking albeit at a comfortable pace. Also the weather here can get pretty humid and hot, so loose fitting cotton clothes, hats and sunglasses work well.
  • Carry your camera with you as you will get umpteen opportunities to capture great sights along the less traveled paths of the island. Tour operators encourage you to take photographs of the foods sampled and places visited and also give your posts and reviews on the social media.
  • Tips/ gratuity to the tour guides at the end of the tour is not mandatory but it is a good sign on appreciation and encouragement.

Tony Finau matches his career low and as he tries to go back-to-back at Houston Open

Tony Finau entered the weekend with a two-shot lead at the Houston Open.

HOUSTON — Tony Finau matched his career low on the PGA Tour with an 8-under-par 62 on Friday, taking a two-shot lead into the weekend with hopes of winning back-to-back — 16 months apart — in the Houston Open.

Scottie Scheffler saw his streak of 28 rounds under par end with a 22-inch miss on his final hole. The three-putt double bogey from 6 feet gave him an even-par 70, though he was only four behind in his bid for a third straight PGA Tour victory.

Finau spent time after his opening round to work on his putting with coach Boyd Summerhays, and it paid off in a big way. He holed three putts from about 25 feet or longer, and he chipped in from 40 feet for eagle on the par-5 eighth.

Finau narrowly missed a 15-footer on his last hole at the par-3 ninth, knowing it would have been his lowest round on the PGA Tour. He was plenty satisfied with a 62, the sixth time he has posted that score, most recently in the last Houston Open.

“I hit some nice shots, but it was mostly just draining some putts from long distance,” Finau said. “I chipped in for eagle on 8. Next thing you know I'm like, ‘Wow, 8 under.’ So it's strange how this game works, but you're never thinking ahead too much.”

Finau was at 9-under 131.

Alejandro Tosti, a PGA Tour rookie from Argentina, had a 67 and was two shots behind. Thomas Detry of Belgium shot 64 and was three behind.

Finau won the Houston Open in November 2022 and had to wait 16 months to defend because of the tournament's move to the spring ahead of the Masters. It was Bermuda grass in the fall, and now lush and overseeded with limited rough.

Finau did most of his damage with the putter. He opened with a 69 on Thursday and then headed straight to the practice green with Summerhays.

“He noticed a little setup change that he mentioned that might help,” Finau said. “I’d say it definitely helped today.”

Scheffler faced the strong wind in the afternoon and was holding his own, challenging Finau for the lead. But on the par-5 16th, he hit 7-iron off the bank and into the water, forcing him to scramble for par. He hit a superb approach to 4 feet for birdie on the 17th, putting him 2 under for his round and two behind Finau.

And then it all changed. Scheffler found a bunker, blasted out and nearly holed it. His par putt from 6 feet spun around the cup, and he went to tap in from 22 inches only for it to dive offline and catch the right lip.

“Frustrating lapse in judgment there,” Scheffler said. “Felt like I hit a good putt on the first one, maybe went just barely through the break so obviously it was a bit frustrating hitting a good putt and it not going in. Second one, I guess just hit a little fast and didn’t see a spike mark.”

Tom Hoge bounced back from a sluggish start with a 66 and was in the group at 3-under 137. Hoge needs to finish alone in fifth to have a mathematical chance to getting into the top 50 in the world ranking after this week. That would earn him a trip to the Masters.

US Open champion Wyndham Clark has been dealing with a back issue from working out earlier in the week. He finished with a bogey for the second straight round, having to settle for a 68 that left him seven shots behind Finau.

They played in the same group, and Clark got a good view of a great round.

“We were joking because about four or five times today I had to move his coin (on the green)," Clark said. ”I hit the putt, I missed and then he made. I kept tell him I was dishing him assists. With that said, he hit it amazing and then he made a lot of putts. So it was fun to watch."

Wilson Furr, who shared the 18-hole lead with Taylor Moore, did not make a birdie in his round of 75 and fell eight shots behind Finau.

Green goes 11 under at LPGA Ford Championship

A sore throat and runny nose lowered Hannah Green’s expectations for the second round of the LPGA Tour Ford Championship.

She sure felt a lot better after a career-best round on a day full of low scoring.

Green birdied the final six holes for an 11-under 61 on Friday, giving her a one-shot lead going into the weekend.

“I missed short putt on the first and I was like, ‘Oh, OK, that’s fine,’” Green said. “I really took advantage of the shorter holes we had. I also holed a couple really long putts, maybe even moved the hole -- it was that firm. But just felt really good out there, just had a really nice morning.”

Increased wind did little to slow the low scoring in the inaugural event at Seville Golf and Country Club, with 20 players shooting 67 or better and a cut line of 5 under — tied for lowest in LPGA history.

Green set the standard at 14-under 130 after making 11 birdies, tied for second-most ever behind Annika Sorenstam’s 13 during her historic 59 in 2001. Sarah Schmezel had a bogey-free 63 to match Peiyun Chien (65) at 13 under.

Azahara Munoz (68) and Hyo Joo Kim (67) were 12 under. Yuka Saso shot a bogey-free 63 that included two runs of four straight birdies. She was 11 under. Lydia Ko was tied with her and three others following a bogey-free 64.
