ONE OK ROCK is coming to Malaysia this December 2023 for their ‘Luxury Disease’ Asia tour

If you are a fan of ONE OK ROCK, you’re in for a treat! The Japanese rock band is making a much-awaited return to Malaysia after four long years, as part of their ‘Luxury Disease’ Asia tour, which is set to take place in December 2023.

It’s been a while since the band last performed in Malaysia, which was during their opening act for Ed Sheeran on his ‘Divided’ Asian tour in 2019. But this time around, ONE OK ROCK will once again rock Kuala Lumpur , as well as other major Asian cities including Taipei, Manila, Jakarta, Hong Kong, Bangkok, and Singapore.

Fans of the four-member band in Malaysia have been eagerly anticipating their return, especially after they skipped Malaysia during their Asian tours in 2015 and 2017. And now, the wait is finally over, as ONE OK ROCK will soon grace the stage with their electrifying performances and music.

ONE OK ROCK returns to Malaysia this December 2023

The ‘Luxury Disease’ Asia tour is scheduled to start in September and will conclude in December, giving fans a chance to catch them live in action. The band is known for their energetic performances, and with hits like The Beginning and Stand Out Fit In , you can expect nothing less than an amazing show.

The concert in Malaysia is set to take place on 15 December 2023 at Axiata Arena Bukit Jalil, the tickets for the highly anticipated concert will be available for purchase starting 4 August 2023 at 11 AM. The ticket prices for ONE OK ROCK’s Luxury Disease concert in Kuala Lumpur range from RM199 to RM599, with seven categories available.

The Fan Zone (Pink) and Rock Zone categories are free-standing so make sure you’re there early to snag the best ‘seats’ in the house if you want to watch the band up close. The other categories such as Fan Zone (Red), CAT 1, CAT 2, CAT 3, and CAT 4 will be sold as numbered seats, don’t worry about queueing up early because the seat you’ve chosen at the checkout is yours to keep.

More about ONE OK ROCK and what you need to know about the band

ONE OK ROCK is a band that has gained a huge following thanks to their unique and powerful musical style, as well as their ability to connect with their listeners. Originating from Tokyo, Japan, the band is made up of four talented members; Taka on vocals, Toru on guitar, Ryota on bass, and Tomoya on drums.

The band’s journey began in 2005 when Toru Yamashita, after the disbandment of his hip-hop group HEADS, decided to start a rock band. He reached out to his childhood friend and former HEADS member, Ryota Kohama, to learn the bass and asked their upperclassman, Alex Onizawa, to join as their lead guitarist. Yû Koyanagi was recruited to play the drums, and the final piece of the puzzle was finding a vocalist.

Despite initial rejection, the band managed to convince Takahiro Moriuchi, who was performing with another local band called Chivalry of Music, to join as their vocalist. Once all the pieces were in place, ONE OK ROCK started recording indie releases which quickly attracted the attention of a major record label. Just two years later, the band was ready to release their debut album.

Since then, ONE OK ROCK has enjoyed a successful career that has spanned over a decade. They have become one of Japan’s biggest and most successful international bands, known for their high-energy performances and electrifying music.

The band’s name is derived from their practice schedule which took place every day at one o’clock in the afternoon. It is a testament to their dedication and hard work that they have achieved such enormous success, despite the many trials and tribulations they have faced along the way.

Due to a scandal former bandmate Alex Onizawa was embroiled in, he decided to leave the band. In addition to that, the band’s original drummer Yû Koyanagi, quit the band to pursue an acting career and since he was only a member of ONE OK ROCK for a short period of time, the Japanese drummer never performed in any studio albums. Thus, Tomoya later replaced him during the recording of the band’s debut album.

Despite parting ways with the band, Yû remained close friends with all of the members and is often seen hanging out with them. Just like the members of ONE OK ROCK, Yû Koyanagi was able to have a successful acting career. He is well known for portraying Yasutora Sado, also known as Chad in the live-action adaptation of Bleach and Makoto Sugihara in Crows Zero.

Each of the band members has their unique story and background, which adds to the band’s dynamic and captivating presence. Toru is the guitarist and leader of the band, while Taka is the lead vocalist and lyricist who has been known for his powerful and expressive performances. Ryota is the bassist who brings massive stage presence to the performances, while Tomoya is the drummer who provides the core component of the band’s releases with his powerful hits.

Despite their differences, the band members work together as a team to create amazing music and performances that have continued to captivate fans worldwide. Their journey to the top is a testament to their perseverance, hard work, and dedication to their craft, and their success is a reflection of the passion and energy that they pour into their music.

ONE OK ROCK Luxury Disease Asia Tour 2023 in Hong Kong

Event details, admission arrangement.

• Audiences are encouraged not to bring bags/backpacks to the event hall. Express Lanes for admission are available for audiences NOT carrying bags/backpacks (if applicable).
• For audience who would like to re-enter the venue, please present your ticket BEFORE exiting the event hall for scanning out. Upon re-entering, present your ticket for scanning in. AWE reserves the right to amend the admission procedures from time to time.
• All audiences are required to wear a security wristband for crowd control and contingency management (if applicable).
• The order of admission to the Standing Zone is based on the designated queuing number as printed on the admission ticket and the confirmation email. The queuing number is automatically generated by the ticketing system after each successful transaction.
• Wheelchair seat tickets are designated for persons who depend on wheelchair for mobility and their accompanying minders. When purchasing wheelchair seat tickets, each wheelchair user is entitled to purchase a maximum of one minder at the same time. Wheelchair seat ticket holders must produce proof of mobility difficulties* upon demand by AWEM during admission.  AWEM will refuse admission without refund, in case of non-wheelchair user or any person accompanying any non-wheelchair user holding wheelchair seat ticket or minder ticket for admission. AWEM and the event organiser reserve the right to have the final decision in case of any disputes.
• Wheelchair users with tickets may contact AWE (+852-3606 888) for admission assistance. They are also advised to arrive at the performance venue with sufficient lead time for admission.

Important Notices

• Unauthorised photography, filming or recording is strictly prohibited in the event hall. Bag searches will be conducted prior to entering the event hall. Article bigger than the dimensions of 38 cm X 30 cm X 20 cm (i.e. 15 inches X 12 inches X 8 inches) as well as all professional cameras, tablets, video/voice recorders and stools/folded chairs are not allowed in the event hall. Long umbrellas are not allowed in standing zone area of the concert event hall.  Please place restricted article(s) at Baggage Storage Counter or self-service lockers at the Ground Floor Level.
• All tickets must purchase from official ticketing agents. Defaced, damaged, copied or otherwise altered tickets will not be entertained.
• All tickets are non-transferable, non-refundable or non-exchangeable. Each ticket admits one (1) person only, subject to any age restrictions set by the organiser.  Reissues for lost free seating or standing tickets cannot be processed under any circumstances.
• For safety reason, selfie stick is prohibited in AsiaWorld-Expo.
• Age limit for Seated zone: 3 or above.
• Age limit for Standing zone: 12 or above and Height limit: 140 cm or above
• Smoking is prohibited in AsiaWorld-Expo.
• No outside food and beverage are allowed in AsiaWorld-Expo.
• No glass bottles, plastic bottles with attached lid, aluminium can and reusable bottles (i.e. thermos flasks) inflated objects that are lighter-than-air in any kinds of materials (i.e. balloons), hazardous materials, weapons, aerosol cans and any sharp objects is allowed inside the event hall. All drinks must have caps/ lids removed before entering.
• Fan banners/ signs must not be bigger than A4 size.
• Possessing or using any illegal drugs is prohibited inside AsiaWorld-Expo.
• Selling or distributing unauthorized merchandise or other items is strictly prohibited within AsiaWorld-Expo.
• No standing on chairs.
• No waiting at staircase and circulation corridor.
• Possessing and using fireworks, pyro or laser device is prohibited.
• No remote-controlled aerial device or toy is allowed (e.g. model helicopters or drones).
• Performance may contain strong and strobe lighting and smoke, please inform any medical staff or security of AsiaWorld-Expo, if feeling unwell or any assistance is needed.
• No ticket scalping is allowed. AsiaWorld-Expo Management Limited and the event organiser reserve the right to void any ticket if it is used, resold, shared or used for any commercial purposes or association.
• Latecomers may only be admitted during a suitable break in the event.  However, admittance is not guaranteed due to lateness.
• No animals are permitted in AsiaWorld-Expo except registered guide dogs upon obtaining prior written consent of AsiaWorld-Expo Management Limited.
• The ticket holder agrees to abide by the applicable rules and regulations of AsiaWorld-Expo, event organiser and the official ticketing agent, as amended from time to time without notice, and use of this ticket by the ticket holder shall be deemed as express acceptance of same.
• AsiaWorld-Expo Management Limited as the venue provider cannot guarantee the participant’s view is totally free from any obstruction during an event.
• AsiaWorld-Expo Management Limited and the event organiser reserve the right to have the final decision in case of any disputes.
• If there is any inconsistency or ambiguity between the English version and the Chinese version of this Notice, the English version shall prevail.

Japanese rock icons ONE OK ROCK have announced an Asia tour set to kick off later this year.

The band took to social media to announce the tour today (June 1), confirming that they will play seven shows between September and December. ONE OK ROCK will perform in Taipei, Manila, Jakarta, Hong Kong, Bangkok and Singapore.

The band have also announced that more dates are set to be announced “soon”.

On September 16 and 17, ONE OK ROCK will perform at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center, before performing at the Smart Araneta Coliseum ion Manila, Philippines on September 26. Their Jakarta concert will take place on September 29 at the Beach City International Stadium, while the Hong Kong show will run on October 7 at the Central Harbourfront Event Space.

Currently no shows have been announced for November, with ONE OK ROCK’s next show taking place on December 12 at the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand. The band’s last show on the tour is currently listed for December 18 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

Ticketing details have yet to be announced.
