- karenwA9888NP 0 contributions 5.0 of 5 bubbles Informative and enjoyable hike I took a very informative hike with Manuel. The day was very, very windy and he suggested an alternate hike that was safer. I am glad that he did as I had heard from hikers earlier that with high winds the original route could get dangerous. We hiked through the forest and Manual knew the horticulture and the history of the area and this made the hike very special. We did hike to the top of the hill and stood in the wind and surveyed the mountains surrounding Punta Arenas. After the hike we had a wonderful lunch at one of the local restaurants that I might not have ordered for myself but was very good. A very enjoyable day. Read more Written 21 February 2024
- 629willieh 0 contributions 5.0 of 5 bubbles Andino forest and highland trek Our native trekking guide Manuel took us just ten minutes from the port to the edge of the Andino forest. On the way he described the hike, asked questions of our interests and comfort with trekking, and briefed us on what we would see and experience. Manuel's english is excellent and soon we were in the forest and enjoying the upward rolling hillsides through groves of native trees. Manual stopped from time to time describing the area, the fuan, and the flora and giving us a really good perspective of the nature of patagonia. We had a really clear day, and hiked up and out of the forest into the wind-swept highland, populated with shrubby trees and moist tussocks of moss-like vegetation. The view was spectacular and Manuel pointed out the various landmarks on the horizon, noting that many had never been explored by man. We returned back the way we came at an easy pace, chatting all the while. Soon we were back in town and enjoying a warm and welcome lunch at a local restaurant. We were treated to local specialities, which hit the spot. Our trek was about 10km with 340m elevation and we took a little over 3 hrs. We are in our 60s and 70s. It was January, mid-summer in the south. Manuel was the perfect host and guide, attentive to our abilities and interests, engaging, and with thorough knowledge of the land and conditions. I would highly recommend this activity to anyone visiting Punta Arenas who likes the outdoors and a good hike. Read more Written 18 February 2024
- elainesV4072ZW 0 contributions 5.0 of 5 bubbles Wonderful day of hiking off the cruise Wonderful day, hiking a 6 mile loop in the beautiful Patagonian Forest. Our hike took us to a higher elevation where we could view the bay and see where our cruise liner was anchored. Manuel, a native of Punta Arenas, was a personable and friendly guide, knowledgeable about the history, botany and fauna of the area. We had a delightful time chatting as we hiked and met his lovely wife, Jamie, and thoroughly enjoyed the Chilean goodies on a break. The day was topped off with a glass of wine and delicious appetizers in an artistically decorated restaurant in town. Thank you Manuel and Jamie for a memorable day in Punta Arenas, Chile. - BIERHAND 0 contributions 5.0 of 5 bubbles Beautiful hike with a competent and charming hiking guide It was a beautiful and varied hike through the Patagonian forest. Our extremely charming and competent hiking guide entertained us with little anecdotes and conveyed many interesting facts about the different ecosystems. In a relaxed atmosphere we walked through the forest where we learned a lot about the different mushrooms and other plants. At the end we had local specialities which were really delicious. And I was lucky: although I hadn't announced it, there was a gluten-free version for me. Altogether a nice excursion, especially because of the nice hiking guide. Read more Written 29 November 2020

We had beautiful weather and the hike was a gentle, undulating one through a pretty second-growth forest. It took about three hours due to the guide’s penchant for stopping every 10 or 15 feet to talk at us (very annoying). Be sure to bring your own water as none will be offered. After we got back to the car, we ate a delicious vegetarian sandwich standing beside the road, and then started the “city tour” part of the day. The guide took us to the cemetery and a museum. There was no overview of the town or commentary about places we passed. I asked to return to the hotel after the museum, sacrificing the prospect of tea with our guide. The tour was overpriced at US$153/person. Read more Written 11 March 2020

- 2020GT 0 contributions 5.0 of 5 bubbles Unforgettable hike in Punta Arenas / Reserva Nacional Magallanes Upon our arrival with the tender boat in the harbour of Punta Arenas, Jamie from Borealis Adventures Patagonia was already waiting for us with her cheerful friendly smile. We had booked via Tripadvisor and the communication in advance via Messenger worked out great (English). Our small group (4 girlfriends) was completed by an American couple and we took a large taxi through the city to the starting point of the hike in the 'Reserva Nacional Magallanes'. Jamie is a very knowledgeable and informative hiking guide, who is very happy to provide information about plants, mushrooms and animals along the picturesque forest trail. Sensational views of the surrounding area are not missed out on this excursion either. So be sure to pack your camera! The hike itself is very easy thanks to the hiking poles provided by Jamie (but of course you can also do it without them). You should wear sturdy shoes such as hiking or trekking shoes, as you will partly walk through bumpy terrain. Unfortunately, we did not see the very shy puma, but we did see his legacy... At the end of the way through the seemingly enchanted Patagonian fairy tale forest, which seems to have just flown by, we strengthened ourselves with sandwiches, cookies and drinks made by Jamie. At the agreed meeting point we were reliably picked up by our very prudent taxi driver (with whom Jamie regularly works) and brought back to the city. Enriched with unforgettable nature impressions and a lot of fun we would like to recommend this tour to every cruiser who wants to make excursions not only by the ship's organization in large groups. However, this company maintained good communication through the whole process and promptly refunded our money. Hoping to use them again if the opportunity presents itself!
- susanmK4092UQ 0 contributions 3.0 of 5 bubbles Overpriced/Boring - Wish I'd Taken a Bus Tour to Torres del Paine Instead We had a day to kill in Punta Arenas so signed up for Best of Patagonia: Forest Hike + City Tour with Borealis Adventures Patagonia.

We drove to the Patagonian forest and had a lovely walk through the forest . It was great to have fresh air ! Jamie knew so much about the fauna and Flora of the area so we learnt a lot! Also it was good to have a conversation about Chile’s history and the cultural side of the country. We ended with a picnic lunch in the sun. A lovely few hours. Read more Written 29 February 2020

He was very knowledgeable about the local plants and wildlife. Someone in the group had a health issue and he helped get him to the end of the hike. We would go again! Individualists ahead!!! Read more Written 24 February 2020
- JHCTLH 0 contributions 5.0 of 5 bubbles Excellent adventure walk Jamie Pratt, tour guide & director of Borealis Adventures, picked my husband and me up at our hotel in Punta Arenas as scheduled. Communication before the trip was excellent. The walk was at our pace and she supplied walking poles which made it very enjoyable and safe. The Lenga trees were tall and green this time of year. Jamie is a very knowledgeable guide and identified several birds, mushrooms and plants that we saw along our walk. Lunch was delicious avocado, tomato and cheese sandwiches with papaya juice. We thoroughly enjoyed the walk and her guidance through the Patagonian forest. We highly recommend this company and activity. Read more Written 22 February 2020

Trekking Experience @ Torres del Paine from Puerto Natales, all meals included
The biggest highlight is hiking Torres del Paine in ice and snow! There were a few hiccups with the logistics of the dinner package, however, Patagonia Planet was professional on all levels; I am really grateful for them. This is a MUST activity when visiting Puerto Natales.

4-Days Discovery Puerto Natales & Torres del Paine
This was an excellent 4 day 'taster' of Chilean Patagonia. I knew nothing of the area and my booking was casual in the extreme especially as I'd not had all that much contact with the agency. However, the tour exceeded our expectations - very well thought out balance of walking and touring and boat. Everything went like clockwork. The choice of hotel in Puerto Natales (Martin Gusinde) was excellent and the staff super helpful. Drivers in the various transport vehicles and their guides were equally professional. The meal on the first day (Torres del Paine excursion) at a hotel near the Lago ping was very good. My only criticism would be the meal at the Estancia on the last day which was advertised as a roast lamb on the spit. The food from start to finish was mediocre at best - a slippery soup, followed by very dry lamb, a few potatoes and half a tinned peach for desert. Water not included. All in all though a very enjoyable few days.

Patagonia Hiking Adventure
The hikes and biking tours were fantastic. The hotels and restaurants were all very good. And the guides were amazing!!!
From Torres del Paine to El Calafate
In my opinion this trip allows you to visit the best destinations in Argentina: Iguazu falls, perito moreno glacier and ushuaia´s city. Mercedes had also helped me to book all domestic flights needed on this trip so I dont have to book them on my own. The selected hotels very great, so comfortable and clean and the optional tours that the company offer are also recomendable.

I received prompt communication from the host throughout the tour, and they were helpful with processing refunds for missed tours, etc. I had a great experience with this tour, the excursions were well chosen! A few things to note is that the Penguin tours can be cancelled due to weather (ours was) and on the guided Torres Del Paine hike the guide has full discretion on whether they will allow you to finish the hike. For our group they forced us to turn back, due to deeming our group unfit to finish, meaning we didn't get to finish the hike (the hike itself was decently challenging but pretty standard compared to other popular hikes in parks like Yosemite, Banff, etc)

7-days "W Trekk" discovering Torres del Paine National Park
Very good tour, complete, informative, fun. It is necessary to emphasize that one is his guide in the trekking. It's something that makes everything even more interesting. Very tasty meals, really tasty.
6 - Days Self Drive @ Torres del Paine National Park
Beautiful are the landscapes that this magnificent country has, I always heard about them, until I decided one day with my husband, stop listening and start traveling, that's how we arrived at this incredible place, thanks to all the work of this great Signature Tours agency
9 Days Trekking to Discover the best of Torres del Paine & El Chalten, with a visit to Moreno Glacier @ El Calafate
This trip was amazing! Great communication with us and the tour was modified when we struggled to get our Chile visa - thankyou so much for the support! Argentina is an amazing place, everything flowed like clock work. Argentina has been our favourite country so far; amazing people (honestly happy and larger than life), the food is so tasty and the nature (you cant compete with Patagonia!). Left this tour incredibly happy and sad it ended. Highly recommended.
Reviews of Patagonia Tours from Punta Arenas
