mORE INFORMATION ABOUT GLOBAL HIKING VACATIONS

What is a hiking vacation.

A hiking vacation can of course take many forms, but for most people it’s a trip on which they leave their home town or city and travel to a new destination to hike, explore, learn and discover. Some of the most popular destinations in the world for a hiking vacation are the Peruvian Andes; the Alps in Switzerland, Italy, France, and Austria; the Canadian Rockies; Patagonia; the ‘Roof of Africa’ in Tanzania; the Himalayas in Nepal, Tibet and China; Iceland’s unique landscapes; Scandinavian countries like Norway and Sweden; and Vietnam to name a handful.

CAMP OR ACCOMMODATIONS?

Many people choose to camp when embarking on a far-flung hiking vacation, but staying in a variety of accommodations can also be very enriching without detracting from the level of adventure. Accommodations can include hotels, lodges, mountain huts, teahouses (in Nepal), and refugios  (backcountry huts in South America).

BACKPACKING OR TREKKING?

It’s possible to go on multi-day backpacking trips at many hiking vacation destinations around the world. Most international guided tours are either portered backcountry trips or stay in mountain huts, teahouses and refugios. A portered trip can be a truly fantastic way to hike and explore other countries. Our Cordillera Huayhuash Trek is an excellent example – it’s a true wilderness trip in the second highest mountain range in the world, but porters and horses transport supplies so Wildland guests are able to hike with light day packs.

WHY A GUIDED HIKING VACATION WITH WILDLAND TREKKING?

Going with a trekking company will offer many benefits to the international traveler:

  • Guests travel light and free, without having to worry about gear and supplies.
  • Logistical and cultural complexities (local travel, permits, food purchasing, reservations…etc.) in other countries are handled for you, so you can relax and focus on enjoying the adventure travel experience.
  • Learn from local guides and experts – all Wildland trips include thoroughly vetted and trained, expert, local guides who you will learn about the destination region from.
  • Hand-picked, world class hiking itineraries – simply put, going with a company like Wildland Trekking will ensure you are investing your time and money on a trip worth doing. We only offer world-class itineraries.

Intern with one of our research teams in Iceland this summer!

Global Treks and Adventures is an international travel company that leads research expeditions to remote locations in order to publish field guides and visitor guides to those regions.

Global Treks is currently leading research expeditions to Iceland for the summer of 2024. We are looking for research interns to join one of our teams.

Jobs in the Spotlight

Environmental science / cultural anthropology internship.

Iceland and Remote Jobs

Intern in Iceland! (Environmental Science and Cultural Anthropology)

About Global Treks and Adventures

Global Treks and Adventures offers internship opportunities to help conduct field research in Iceland with one of our research teams. The research expeditions during the summer of 2023 in Iceland will focus on conducting cultural and environmental field research in order to develop both a trail guide and a cultural anthology. Researchers will travel to Iceland for 8 days of field research and then spend 2-3 months working remotely, before and after the field research, synthesizing the information to be included in the digital e-books. The ultimate goal is to provide travelers with insight into the culture and natural world they will be traveling through. This will include information on the island's geography, geology, wildlife, plants, marine life, natural resources, hiking trails, economy, historic and current culture as well as tourism and its impacts.

RESEARCH OBJECTIVE #1: INTERACTIVE DIGITAL FIELD GUIDE AND E-BOOK TO LOCAL TRAILS

Researchers will assist our team in exploring and documenting numerous hiking trails in Iceland in order to collect environmental, cultural, and trail information for the upcoming digital publication we are developing. We are looking for research assistants to help us collect information on: GIS mapping, common plants and wildlife encountered on the trails, habitats and ecosystems, geography, geology, tourism impacts, culture, myths and legends, cultural norms, travel and trail logistics, trail descriptions, photography, video production, travel blogging and other relevant information.

RESEARCH OBJECTIVE #2: ANTHOLOGY OF Iceland E-BOOK

The researchers on the cultural teams will be assisting our team in developing an Anthology of Iceland digital publication which will include photographic essays and narratives on the culture and the environment. This will include topics such as tourism impacts, sustainability, geothermal energy, natural resources, geology, environmental topics, cultural norms, racism, gender roles, family dynamics, immigration, police culture, crime, photography, and other creative writing pieces.

The Employee Experience

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

We work with each intern/researcher to set up an individualized topic of research. Working weekly with your Research Director, interns spend 10 hours per week for the first couple of weeks working remotely from home or school researching their assigned topic. Interns then spend 1-week conducting action research in Iceland during the summer of 2023. It is during this time interns investigate their research topic and document the findings gathered through surveys, observations, interviews, literature reviews, and photographs to include in the publication. Each research team is made up of 8-10 researchers and 2 lead researchers/instructors. Interns spend approximately 10 hours per week for the 2 months following the field research working with their Research Director to develop their contribution to the book. Our office team and editors provide assistance and feedback on each intern’s contributions to the research and writing.

WHAT YOU WILL GAIN FROM THIS INTERNSHIP

  • Earn outdoor leadership certifications in: Certificate in Sustainable Tourism and Risk Management Level 1.
  • You become a contributor in publication (print, ebook, website, or app).
  • Gain experience designing, researching, collecting, and synthesizing data.
  • Experience traveling abroad and immersing yourself in another culture.
  • The opportunity to participate in and complete a collaborative project with fellow researchers.
  • Build an impressive resume with job experience that will set you apart from other candidates.

Ideal Candidate

These internships are competitive and we encourage applicants to be themselves while also putting effort into their application. The online application is a series of short answer questions designed for Global Treks to get to know the candidate, their background, and their personality. Our teams are small, intimate, and efficient and we look for positive and dynamic people to help us make the best publication possible. Once your application is submitted, selected candidates will be contacted for a phone interview. Upon completion of the interview, our selection committee meets once a week to determine the best candidates for each team. If a candidate is offered an internship we provide access to the team’s private expedition page with all of the information needed for the travel and research. Our team will also develop a personalized research plan for each intern research assistant. We are also more than happy to help organize internship credit through the intern’s university.

Room and Board

THE ICELAND RESEARCH BASE

The Research Team will be based is a large countryside house in Selfoss, Iceland (45 minutes outside of the cpaital Reykjavik). The research base is located on 17 acres of land and has a hot tub and waterfall. There is a large kitchen, living room, several bedrooms, and bathrooms. Bedrooms will be a mix of 2 twin beds in a bedroom. Two vehicles driven by the head researchers will be utilized for group transport for hikes, meetings, and cultural gatherings.

Employee Perks

Free time will be spent exploring everything within driving distance and spending evenings at the community geothermal pools.

Getting Here and Getting Around

Transportation, housing and food will be provided once you arrive in Iceland.

During the summer month Iceland is known for it's 24 hours of daylight during June. We take advantage of this sunlight and our free time and explore as much of Iceland as possible!

How to Apply

If you could please visit our website via the link below and complete our application we can then set up an interview. Our application is more of a getting-to-know-you-style application and can be completed fairly quickly. We typically set up interviews within two weeks.

Moscow Metro and Swan Lake

A few days ago, I went with Elena and Becky on a trip around the Moscow metro, the second most heavily used metro system in the world. I didn’t know much about it before, but it’s an architectural marvel in and of itself, a gorgeous relic from Moscow’s Soviet past and Stalinist architecture in particular. We rode around the central brown line, a circle of 12 stations that Stalin oversaw the creation/renovation of in the 1930s and 40s. All are ornately decorated with different themes (sports, French palatial architecture, Lenin portraits, etc), in a way that was intended to remind the average rider of all the ways their government was giving back to them for their hard work. Apparently, they all have an emphasis on “verticality”, essentially meaning that either the ceilings are very lavish, or the art on the walls is dimensioned to draw the eye upwards, reminding metro-goers of the place of Stalin in their lives. Below are pictures of my favorite stations.

global treks and adventure

All of the stations are fairly deep underground, hence scarily steep escalators.

I was surprised by the amount of Greco-Roman inspired decoration.

And finally, my favorite: a series of geometrical stained glass windows.

To top off our time in Moscow, last night we managed to get student rush tickets (for 100 roubles, or $3!) to closing night of Swan Lake at the Bolshoi Theater. The seats were terrible (it’s hard to explain how bad, but we had to stand for most of the show) but the ballet was incredible. We found out about the existence of student rush tickets/the process to get them very randomly, and as I haven’t found the process documented anywhere else, here’s a quick description: if you go to the Bolshoi at any given day starting at 6 am, you can put your name (and your group’s names) on a list for tickets to the day’s performance (it hosts ballet and opera performances on alternating days). A queue starts forming outside the theater at 2 pm, roughly based on the order of your name on the list, and tickets are handed out at 5:30 pm. Although this rushing system applies to all students, the ticket attendees might give you a hard time by refusing any non-Russian IDs (this actually happened to me, and I was only able to go as Elena’s boyfriend Luke kindly gave his up his ticket for me).

Fun fact: the Bolshoi is featured on the 100 Rouble note, and the insignia in front of the theater on the bill displays a hammer and sickle. Although hammers and sickles are still common sights around the city, the Bolshoi happens to have since switched its insignia to the logo of the modern Russian Federation, the double-headed eagle. Credit to Becky for noticing.

Seating in the Bolshoi: the big box on the right is known as Stalin’s Box. Apparently he fancied himself a connoisseur.

Random photo of the day: a small bakery at which we bought a jam bun and a small bag of glazed wheat rolls. Tiny bakeries like this are all over the place (including in the metro stations, with fully functioning mini-ovens!), and make me feel perpetually hungry as I walk around.

Star Trek: Discovery's Final Season Will Focus on More of an 'Adventure Vibe' | IGN Fan Fest 2024

Discovery's cast talks about what to expect from its final season following the release of the trailer..

Adam Bankhurst Avatar

Star Trek: Discovery's final season is nearly here and a brand-new trailer has just arrived to give us another glimpse of this "last dance" for Captain Burnham and her crew. To celebrate this moment, we also had the chance to talk to a few members of the cast about what makes these remaining episodes and this show so special and what the future may hold.

The trailer, which you can watch above, is very much a time for the crew of the U.S.S. Discovery to reminisce about the "hell of a journey" they've all been on and how they've all become a family through their adventures, triumphs, and heartbreaks. It's also an action-packed look at the mission to search for one of the "greatest powers ever known" that could be "very dangerous in the wrong hands."

Star Trek: Discovery is entering its final season.

Discovery's final season will kick off on April 4, 2024 , and Sonequa Martin-Green (Michael Burnham), Doug Jones (Saru), Wilson Cruz (Dr. Hugh Culber), and Anthony Rapp (Paul Stamets) shared with IGN what they will cherish most about their time on the show and where they hope Star Trek goes from here.

Rapp began by talking about how Season 5 of Star Trek: Discovery will boldly go where the show hasn't gone before while also honoring what made Star Trek into the global phenomenon it has become.

"In terms of the tone of the season, the sense of the quest and adventure vibe is probably a little different than some of the other seasons we’ve had," Rapp said. "The nooks and crannies of this adventure take us into some very interesting questions and territories which are very Star Trek. It’s able to bridge the gap of the fun adventure without sacrificing the moral complexity of what Star Trek has always been about as well."

The legacy of Star Trek: Discovery

As for what the legacy Star Trek: Discovery will be, Rapp thinks one of the biggest parts of it will be representation.

"Star Trek has always been about representation in a big way, but I think we took it to another level. I think that really mattered and has mattered to a lot of people. It was a long time coming. It was too long. They really did try to break down these barriers of queer representation back in Star Trek: The Next Generation, but the powers that be said no. There was a lot more fear dictating these sorts of choices, so we were very fortunate in the late teens and early 2020s that we had forces behind us saying yes and recognizing that representation matters, that it makes a difference, and that it's important that the future reflects the way our world looks."

"To give our fan base something they've always wanted and to be those characters means a lot," Cruz added.

Burnham then discussed what being the first Black female captain in Star Trek meant to her and how the honor means more than words can hope to convey.

"It means so many things on so many levels," Burnham said. "It means so much to me artistically, culturally, relationally, and spiritually. And being able to be Captain Burnham as the first Black woman captain and to be part of Discovery as a whole, which had a lot of firsts in this franchise, means a lot. It means more than I can say, literally."

Lastly, Cruz took the time to look forward and share what he would love to see in the future of this beloved franchise that has always tried to push the boundaries and showcase the best of humanity.

"What is incredible relevant about Star Trek is the need for connection," Cruz said. "In this moment, where we are as a culture and politically, we couldn't need that lesson and message more. So, I hope that Star Trek continues to inspire us, to show us to appreciate each other's differences, to reach out to each other, and to build bridges and not walls."

Lectric XPeak e-bike review: Here’s why it’s the highest-value adventure bike out there

Avatar for Micah Toll

The Phoenix-based electric bike brand Lectric Ebikes is known for rolling out some of the best bang-for-your-buck electric bicycles in the US. Time after time, the company has entered new markets and broken ground with high-performing, low-cost e-bikes that send the competition into panic. And the $1,299 Lectric XPeak might just be the best example of that high-value game plan yet.

The Lectric XPeak falls into the category commonly referred to as “adventure-style bikes”, which basically means they have massive tires and an off-road design, but aren’t mountain bikes.

The most common form for this category is the standard hardtail 26″ fat tire bike, and that’s exactly what the Lectric XPeak offers.

So then what makes it so special? Basically, it offers better parts than other companies at a price several hundred dollars lower. It’s a better bike for less money, and I’m of the opinion that it’s one of the only bikes worth looking at in this budget adventure category anymore.

If you want higher quality, there are always going to be fancier brand-name bikes out there . But if you have two goals of getting off-road and saving money, the Lectric XPeak is basically the answer.

The Lectric XPeak is a better experience, period.

From the moment you mount the Letric XPeak and start your first ride, you’ll realize how much better this bike is.

Despite using a cadence sensor for pedal assist, like all budget fat tire electric bikes, the company’s power-based pedal assist system makes the ride surprisingly smooth. Sure, there’s a little bit of cadence sensor lag when you start spinning the pedals, but it’s just not very noticeable by comparison.

The ride is comfortable thanks to that 80mm travel Renegade RST front fork. That’s a fork that has no business being on a bike like this – it’s just too nice. But there it is.

I was worried how I would feel about the paddle thumb throttle, but I even found that to be surprisingly comfortable, too. It’s much better than an up-and-down rotary thumb throttle, though nothing is going to make me stop missing the industry standard and always perfect half-twist throttle, which rightfully reigns supreme as the king of all throttle designs.

lectric xpeak

The 750W rear motor actually has a peak power of 1,310W, and is there to offer up to 28 mph (45 km/h) of pedaling speed with 85 Nm of torque, and the large front chain ring means that you can actually pedal that fast without spinning your legs like a power drill. Plus, the gripping alloy pedals bite into your shoes nicely for strong contact, ensuring you aren’t slipping off the tiny little nubs on the cheap plastic pedals so many bikes come with these days.

That big ol’ rear rack offers plenty of real estate for hauling cargo and other gear around, plus you get fenders included instead of some annoying add-on accessory.

For range, the bike gets a 48V 14Ah battery with 672 Wh of capacity. Range will of course vary depending on conditions, but up to 55 miles (88 km) of range is possible on low-power pedal assist. Just be careful letting it rip in full power motor at top speed, as you could watch your range plummet into the 12-20 mile (20-32 km) window.

Are there sacrifices?

Yes, of course there will be a few areas where sacrifices were made to keep costs down.

You’re looking at Chaoyang tires instead of anything fancier, but that’s fine by me. I don’t need Maxxis tires to show off at the trailhead. I don’t care if the other guy’s tires cost as much as my whole bike. I’m out here to ride, not compete.

lectric xpeak

So sure, sacrifices will always have to be made on budget-level bikes to keep the price reasonable. But that’s sort of the amazing thing here, that there just aren’t that many sacrifices being made. You even still get hydraulic disc brakes on 180 mm rotors and a telescoping seat post to fit a wider range of axles.

Then there’s that thru-axle front wheel, the eMTB safety certifications that so many adventure-style electric bikes lack, and the full surround LED lighting.

Consider that the bike comes in both a step-over and a step-thru, and you’re looking at a lot of value in just one e-bike here.

But then again, that’s exactly what we’ve come to expect from Lectric Ebikes, the same company that brought us the XP line of folding e-bikes that shook up the e-bike industry with fair pricing that more riders than ever could finally afford.

And at just $1,299 , the Lectric XPeak is a two-thumb-up-buy!

Travis Kelce, taylor swift

Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift didn’t waste any time doing some classic couple stuff ahead of the singer’s upcoming run of Eras Tour shows in Sydney, Australia. According to News.com.au , after the Kansas City Chiefs tight end landed down under on Wednesday, he and Swift took a trip to the Sydney Zoo on Thursday (Feb. 22).

Travis Kelce Lands in Australia for Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour

Trending on billboard.

Cameras spotted Kelce getting off a private jet the day before, marking the second time the three-time Super Bowl champ has hopped on a plane to go see Swift on her globe-hopping Eras Tour. Swift is slated to play four dates at Sydney’s Accor Stadium beginning on Friday (Feb. 23) through Monday (Feb. 26), with Sabrina Carpenter slated to open the gigs.

According to the Australian news site’s report, Swift visited the city’s Olympic stadium on Wednesday for a sound check ahead of Friday’s kick-off gig, which may be marred by some predicted foul weather. The site said that “ heavy hail ” is in the forecast for Friday night, with showers and storms predicted amid “scorching hot weather” in the city over the weekend.

The global trip by Kelce is the mirror image of one Swift took two weeks ago when she flew from Tokyo to Las Vegas to support her boyfriend when the Chiefs played the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LVIII on Feb. 11. In a testament to the massive frequent flier miles the long distance couple are likely to wrack up over the next year, in November, Kelce flew to Buenos Aires , Argentina to take in one of Swift’s Eras Tour gigs.

Moscow Metro

The Moscow Metro Tour is included in most guided tours’ itineraries. Opened in 1935, under Stalin’s regime, the metro was not only meant to solve transport problems, but also was hailed as “a people’s palace”. Every station you will see during your Moscow metro tour looks like a palace room. There are bright paintings, mosaics, stained glass, bronze statues… Our Moscow metro tour includes the most impressive stations best architects and designers worked at - Ploshchad Revolutsii, Mayakovskaya, Komsomolskaya, Kievskaya, Novoslobodskaya and some others.

What is the kremlin in russia?

The guide will not only help you navigate the metro, but will also provide you with fascinating background tales for the images you see and a history of each station.

And there some stories to be told during the Moscow metro tour! The deepest station - Park Pobedy - is 84 metres under the ground with the world longest escalator of 140 meters. Parts of the so-called Metro-2, a secret strategic system of underground tunnels, was used for its construction.

During the Second World War the metro itself became a strategic asset: it was turned into the city's biggest bomb-shelter and one of the stations even became a library. 217 children were born here in 1941-1942! The metro is the most effective means of transport in the capital.

There are almost 200 stations 196 at the moment and trains run every 90 seconds! The guide of your Moscow metro tour can explain to you how to buy tickets and find your way if you plan to get around by yourself.

Roar of Time and Spacial Rend Adventure Effect in Pokémon Go explained

Will you bend time or space?

Adventure Effects is a new Pokémon Go feature introduced as part of the Go Tour: Sinnoh event in February 2024 and, at the time of writing, it has two forms - Roar of Time and Spacial Rend .

Each one is tied to a specific Pokémon - Origin Forme Dialga for the Roar of Time Adventure Effect and Origin Forme Palkia for the Spacial Rend Adventure Effect. This means if you want to use the Pokémon Go Adventure Effects, you need to catch one of these Pokémon.

Below we not only investigate the bonus and cost for both Roar of Time and Spacial Rend , but take a look at how Adventure Effects work and how to get the Origin Formes in Pokémon Go.

On this page:

Roar of Time Adventure Effect bonus and cost in Pokémon Go

Spacial rend adventure effect bonus and cost in pokémon go, how to use an adventure effect in pokémon go, how to get an origin forme dialga and palkia with an adventure effect in pokémon go.

The Roar of Time Adventure Effect can only be used by Origin Forme Dialga in Pokémon Go. It has the power to pause the timers for Incense, Lucky Eggs, Star Piece and, most helpfully of all, Daily Adventure Incense .

Using the Roar of Time Adventure Effect for six minutes costs 5,000 Stardust and five Dialga Candy .

global treks and adventure

Its duration can be increased in six minute increments up to a maximum of two hours. Extending Roar of Time to the two hour limit costs 100,000 Stardust and 100 Dialga Candy .

Roar of Time can be further increased up to a maximum of 24 hours, but reaching this total will set you back 1,200,000 Stardust and 1,200 Dialga Candy so you might want to think that decision over...

Finally, Roar of Time can be used in battle and will have the following Power:

  • Trainer Battles - 150 Power
  • Gyms and Raids - 160 Power

The Spacial Rend Adventure Effect can only be used by Origin Forme Palkia in Pokémon Go. Using it will increase the distance at which you can encounter wild Pokémon and adds a cool effect to the map.

Using the Spacial Rend Adventure Effect for 10 minutes costs 5,000 Stardust and 5 Palkia Candy .

global treks and adventure

Its duration can be increased in 10 minute increments up to a maximum of two hours. Extending Spacial Rend to this two hour limit costs 60,000 Stardust and 60 Palkia Candy .

You can also further increase Spacial Rend's duration for up to 24 hours. Doing so, however, will cost you 720,000 Stardust and 720 Palkia Candy. While that's less than the 24 hour cost of Roar of Time, it's still quite the investment so make sure you're going to fully use this Adventure Effect by spending it.

Spacial Rend can also be used in battle and has the following Power:

  • Trainer Battles - 95 Power

The Season of Timeless Travels in Pokémon Go is coming to an end with the Go Tour: Sinnoh Global event. During this event you can complete Go Tour 2024: It's About Time and Space , Legends 0486 quest and use the new Adventure Effects by catching either Origin Forme Dialga and Origin Forme Palkia . During it, take the time to try out Routes , Gift Exchange and Party Play while you're hunting down rare Pokémon , fighting in the Go Battle League or competing in PokéStop Showcases .

To use an Adventure Effect in Pokémon Go, you must first ensure you have the Pokémon which knows the move connected to that effect; this is Origin Forme Dialga for Roar of Time and Origin Forme Palkia for Spacial Rend .

Keep in mind that these moves can not be learned via any TM and can only be obtained if you catch a Pokémon which already knows them. Regular form Diagla and Palkia can also not learn or use the Roar of Time or Spacial Rend Adventure Effect moves and, although it can learn the attacks of Pokémon it appears with, neither can Smeargle.

It's also very important to remember that you can only use one Adventure Effect at one time . This means if you've activated Spacial Rend to increase the number of spawns you encounter, you can not then use Roar of Time to pause your Lucky Egg or Daily Adventure Incense timer. Thankfully, Pokémon Go will point this out to you when you attempt to activate that second Adventure Effect, but it is something you should factor into your play if you're planning on utilising an Adventure Effect.

global treks and adventure

With these caveats out of the way, it's time to discuss how you actually use an Adventure Effect and, thankfully, it's very easy.

To use an Adventure Effect you must first find, depending on which one you wish to use, either Origin Forme Dialga or Palkia in your Pokémon storage. Once there, open up their dedicated page and scroll down to the Adventure Effect section which lies beneath their moveset. (You can't miss it.)

You now need to select 'Use' to bring up the window where you decide how much Stardust and Candy you wish to spend on the Adventure Effect. The more Stardust and Candy you spend, the more time you have with this Adventure Effect.

global treks and adventure

The timer for Roar of Time increases in six minute increments, while Spacial Rend increases in 10 minute increments. The maximum time an Adventure Effect timer can be set is two hours and this can be done multiple times for a total of 24 hours.

Extending an Adventure Effect to its maximum limit will, of course, cost an awful lot of Candy and Stardust, so, if actually going to try this, we highly recommend ensuring you get the most out of the effect.

global treks and adventure

When you're happy with how long your Adventure Effect is going to last (and how much it's going to cost you), select 'Use' once again to activate the effect. You'll get a cool little cutscene of Origin Forme Dialga or Palkia using their special attack before you can start using your bonus.

A timer will appear on the right-hand side of your screen when an Adventure Effect is active to let you know how long you have until the bonuses vanish and, remember, you can always pay the cost to extend an Adventure Effects duration.

global treks and adventure

At the time of writing, Origin Forme Dialga and Palkia have only been made available during the Go Tour: Sinnoh Los Angeles and Go Tour: Sinnoh Global events during February 2024 in Pokémon. Considering the distribution history of similar Legendary Pokémon forms, like Primal Groudon and Kyogre , it feels safe to assume they will return at some point during specific events.

global treks and adventure

This does mean, however, you only have a limited window in which you can catch an Origin Forme Dialga and Palkia who know their Adventure Effects.

As mentioned on the official Pokémon Go blog , your choice between the Diamond and Pearl versions of the Go Tour: Sinnoh event affects your chances of encountering Origin Forme Dialga and Palkia's who know their Adventure Effect attacks.

If you selected Diamond, then you'll encounter an Origin Forme Dialga that knows Roar of Time. Meanwhile, choosing Pearl means you'll have an encounter with an Origin Forme Palkia who knows Spacial Rend.

Also, thanks to a post on reddit from r/TheSilphRoad , we now know that it is possible to catch the other Origin Form Pokémon with their Adventure Effect attacks but it's extremely rare to do so. So if you chose the Diamond path you have a slim chance of getting an Origin Forme Palkia with Spacial Rend.

global treks and adventure

During Go Tour: Sinnoh Global, you'll be able to battle Origin Forme Dialga and Origin Forme Palkia in five-star raids during the Ancient Grove and Geothermal Lagoon habitat hours .

Go Tour: Sinnoh Global runs on both Saturday 24th February and Sunday 25th February, with the habitat hour appearing during the following times no matter where you live:

  • 11am to 12pm - Ancient Grove
  • 1pm to 2pm - Geothermal Lagoon
  • 3pm to 4pm - Ancient Grove
  • 5pm to 6pm - Geothermal Lagoon

Keep in mind that the Remote Raid Pass limit has been removed for this event, so you're free to use these passes in conjunction with apps like Poké Genie as much as you and, by doing so, you're not constrained by the hours listed above.

If you manage to defeat and catch either Origin Forme Dialga or Palkia, there's a chance - again according to the official Pokémon Go blog - that they will know their Adventure Effect.

Good luck using Adventure Effects in Pokémon Go!

Sadie joins the bus and eventually bonds with three female competitors, Grace (Carla Gugino), Lola (Natasha Behnam), and Kimberlyn (Christina Elmore). MoonBall Media will include original unscripted programming, a weekly podcast, social media content and forthcoming FAST channels. The first episode of the weekly podcast “Diggin’ Deep,” which explores pertinent topics in sports and media, has already debuted. Joining Hosmer as co-hosts are MLB veteran Peter Moylan and process and development coach Justin Su’a. Guests will include other athletes, coaches, musicians, and pop culture figures as they delve into “an intimate and unfiltered look into the challenges and triumphs that have shaped their lives.”

“We’re thrilled to officially announce the launch of MoonBall Media,” said founder and CEO Seratelli. “The opportunity to fully merge my passion and experience in both sports and storytelling is something I’ve been working towards for a long time. We have an amazingly talented team of producers and creators and we look forward to entertaining audiences through our unique documentaries, weekly podcasts, live sports and much more content to come.”

Seratelli has experience producing with his company Jersey Filmmaker; Hosmer is co-founding MoonBall right after leaving the MLB, having announced his official retirement on “Diggin’ Deep.”

The new production staffing website ShoBizzy has officially launched, with advisors from congloms including Netflix, Disney, Warner Bros Discovery, and NBCUniversal. Founded by Doug Weitzbuch (“World of Dance,” “Duck Dynasty”) and serial software entrepreneur Kevin Eberly (“PayYourRent”), the site utilizes algorithms to help staff productions including film, television, commercials, digital and live events.

“ShoBizzy can save productions significant time and money by automatically suggesting the best suited and available candidates for every single position in their production,” the company said in a statement. “This will reduce time spent staffing, eliminate bad hires, and increase exposure to more locals… This is a dramatic improvement from the current process of scouring IMDb, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc to try to find a mutual connection that has worked with the candidate.”

The idea for ShoBizzy was born after Weitzbuch, who has spent 20 years as a freelance producer, wrapped on the Netflix series “Buy My House” and reached out to Eberly, who was a close friend, about coming up with a new way to staff projects.

NewsNation has struck a multi-year agreement with Ashleigh Banfield, in which she will continue to host her primetime program “Banfield” at 10 p.m. ET on weeknights.

“Banfield” covers the country’s biggest stories, including top crime cases. Banfield has over 35 years of experience as a broadcast journalist and has worked for a variety of networks including CNN, HLN, MSNBC, NBC, CourtTV and ABC News. At NewsNation, some of the breaking news stories she has covered include the mass shooting in Lewiston, Maine, the Gabby Petito-Brian Laundrie murder case, the Bryan Kohberger trial, the Murdaugh trial and the Gilgo Beach murders.

“Ashleigh is an incredible talent and a seasoned broadcast journalist,” said Michael Corn, president of news at NewsNation. “She covers crime and the justice system better than anyone and we are thrilled that she has re-signed with the network.”

Global media company Studio71 signed an exclusive distribution, ad sales and marketing agreement with Tony Hinchcliffe for his podcast “Kill Tony.” Studio 71 will sell podcast advertising and integrated brand partnerships across audio and video, as well as help Hinchcliffe build out a podcast network called “Golden Pony Podcasts” under its umbrella.

“My entire team is pumped to be working on such a high level and with such huge venues and now an unstoppable advertising force. When Brian Redban and I started working together, we could not have imagined such a juggernaut and we have never been happier now that we are in arenas and our home base of the great state of Texas,” Hinchcliffe said in a statement.

The deal was helmed by Seth Jacobs and Alex Murray at Brillstein Entertainment Partners, where Hinchcliffe is a client. Hinchcliffe is a client of UTA as well, and Dinesh Melwani at Mintzserved as legal counsel. Shana Davies, Brian Lieberman and Vadim Dyment negotiated the deal on behalf of Studio71.

“We are very excited that Tony and his team would entrust his wildly successful podcast with us to continue its growth trajectory,” Craig Jordan, senior vice president of podcast brand partnerships, said in a statement. “We look forward to providing him with our bespoke customized services to grow his audience and his opportunities to new heights, earning them greater revenue through increased distribution, marketing, and best-in-class ad sales.”
