Robert Plant and Alison Krauss sing onstage together.

The year’s most anticipated bluegrass tour is finally here.

Led Zeppelin frontman turned sensitive singer-songwriter Robert Plant is teaming up once again with accomplished vocalist Alison Krauss for their second “Raising The Roof Tour” in as many years.

This time around, the duo, which released their critically-acclaimed album “Raise The Roof” in 2021, will hit 26 venues all over North America from April 25 through July 5 which includes a stop at Bethel, NY’s Bethel Woods Center For The Arts on July 1.

Along the way, they’ll also perform at three major festivals: the New Orleans Jazz Festival held April 28 through May 7, Live Oak, FL’s Echoland Music Festival from May 11-13 and the Telluride Bluegrass Festival set for June 15-18.

And while many count themselves as fans of Plant and Krauss’ ongoing collaboration, we’re going to go ahead and guess most readers are wondering whether or not Plant will reach back into Led Zeppelin’s storied catalog of classic rock favorites.

While past set lists confirm that Plant does indeed play a few Zep tracks live — “Rock And Roll,” “Battle of Evermore” and “When The Levee Breaks” were three we saw show up last year — the best way to find out is live.

Want to grab tickets today ?

Although inventory isn’t available on Ticketmaster until Friday, Feb. 3, fans who want to ensure they have tickets ahead of time can purchase on sites like Vivid Seats  before seats are officially on sale.

Vivid Seats is a secondary market ticketing platform, and prices may be higher or lower than face value, depending on demand.

They have a 100% buyer guarantee that states your transaction will be safe and secure and will be delivered before the event.

Robert Plant and Alison Krauss 2023 tour schedule

On April 25, Plant and Krauss will begin their nationwide “Raising The Roof Tour” at Shreveport, LA’s Shreveport Municipal Memorial Auditorium .

Some of the biggest stops on the three-month run include gigs at Kansas City’s Starlight Theatre on May 5, Chattanooga’s Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Auditorium on May 13, Charlotte’s Charlotte Metro Credit Union Amphitheatre on May 15, Tucson’s Centennial Hall on June 15 and Portland, ME’s Thompsons Point on July 3.

The run concludes at Toronto’s Budweiser Stage on July 5.

A complete calendar featuring all upcoming tour dates, venues, show start times and links to buy tickets can be found here .

Robert Plant and Alison Krauss festival appearance information

As noted earlier, Plant and Krauss have plans to lend their talents to a number of huge festivals this spring and summer.

To determine whether or not each fest is worth the trip, we’ve compiled all the essential information for you below.

Robert Plant and Alison Krauss opening act

For most shows on the tour, Plant and Krauss will be joined by special guest JD McPherson.

McPherson, 45, has a sound you can’t quite pin down.

On some tracks, like “Lucky Penny,” he rocks hard evoking roots-y classic rockers like, well, Led Zeppelin.

Yet, on other songs like his “North Side Gal,” you’ll swear you’ve time-traveled to the 1950s with its near doo-wop swing.

If you want to hear McPherson’s sonically diverse tunes, you can poke through his diverse collection here .

Robert Plant set list

Although we can’t guarantee whether or not the 74-year-old Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Plant will play the same songs on the 2023 tour that he did with Krauss last year, we figured we’d give you a taste of what the two played on a sample show in summer 2022:

01.) “Rich Woman” (Li’l Millet and His Creoles cover) 02. ) “Quattro (World Drifts In)” (Calexico cover) 03. ) “Fortune Teller” (Benny Spellman cover) 04.) “The Price of Love” (The Everly Brothers cover) 05.) “Rock and Roll” (Led Zeppelin cover) 06.) “Please Read the Letter” (Jimmy Page & Robert Plant cover) 07.) “Let Your Loss Be Your Lesson” (Little Milton cover) 08.) “High and Lonesome” 09.) “Last Kind Words Blues” (Geeshie Wiley cover) 10.) “You Led Me to the Wrong” (Ola Belle Reed cover) 11.) “Trouble With My Lover” (Allen Toussaint and Leo Nocentelli cover) 12.) “Go Your Way” (Bert Jansch cover) 13.) “It Don’t Bother Me” (Bert Jansch cover) 14.) “Leave My Woman Alone” (Ray Charles cover) 15.) “The Battle of Evermore” (Led Zeppelin cover) 16.) “When the Levee Breaks” (Memphis Minnie & Kansas Joe McCoy cover) (with elements of “Friends”) 17.) “Gone Gone Gone” (The Everly Brothers cover) Encore:

18.) “Stick With Me Baby” (The Everly Brothers cover) 19.) “Can’t Let Go” (Randy Weeks cover) 20.) “Somebody Was Watching Over Me” (Maria Muldaur cover)

The artists  toured the U.S. last year, while Plant also performed a series of concerts in the U.K. with his band Saving Grace. In December, Plant revealed that he's open to making  another album with Krauss. "I could be sort of far too serious about myself and sit in my dressing room with a star on the door, but that’s not why I do this," he told  Billboard . "I do this because I only work with people who've got a big heart, and this is it. So it's never dull. But if it's dull, I'm not sticking around anyway."

Robert Plant, (August 20th, 1948), is a British singer/songwriter, best known for his work as the lead vocalist and lyricist for the rock band Led Zeppelin.

Born in Kidderminster, Worcestershire, Plant was renowned for his trademark high pitched falsetto vocals, which lead to him being adorned with the title of the ‘greatest singer of rock’ time and time again. In a Poll carried out by Planet Rock, Plant came out on top for the greatest rock vocalist, and the title stuck. Throughout his career, the musician has had significant influence on great musicians, including Freddie Murcury. Additionally, in 2011 he was awarded the 1st place nomination for the greatest lead singer of all time from Rolling Stone Magazine for his time in Led Zeppelin.

As well as releasing countless albums with Led Zeppelin, Plant has 10 studio albums to his name, 8 of which have achieved either a gold or silver status. Plant’s talent as a multi-instrumentalist has helped tremendously in his composition over the years, playing harmonica, guitar, bass, and drums.

After leaving home at the age of 16 to pursue his music career, Plant became a member of the English Midlands blues scene, and his early work was heavily influenced by the genre. Jimmy Page approached Plant after hearing about him through contacts in the circuit and was astounded that he’d not been snapped up by labels previously, and they immediately began collaborating, ultimately forming Led Zeppelin.

During the production of Presence in the mid 70s, Plant was injured in car accident on holiday with his wife, which lead to a delayed release, and several cancelled tour dates. Renowned for his onstage banter and narratives of the origins of his songs, his lyrics were influenced by a variety of sources, from Tolkien, to the untimely death of his son, catalysing his mystical and spiritual lyrics.

After the disbanding of Led Zeppelin in the 80s, Plant’s solo career took off to much success, with all of his albums being extremely well received. As well as solo tours, he also collaborated further with Page, and they produced several records and performed shows together.

Live reviews

Most rock performers that gain huge celebrity status in their early career tend to stick to the same formula whether or not they can pull it off or not, but Robert Plant is unlike these performers. Robert Plant knows he is aging and he has shifted his musical compositions into forms that he handles impeccably well. Other singers often do not have the nerve to shift their style of performance as they grow older, but musicians such as Tom Waits and Robert Plant know how to move with the times and end up venturing into new territories that see them producing the highest quality of music.

Robert Plant’s most recent concerts are a complete joy to see live. His shows contain a sense of maturity to them. He does not participate in the high-pitched shrieks and yells that he so masterfully produced in classic Led Zeppelin recordings, but his style has changed to the tune of more traditional folk standards, singing like an old soul with an angelic voice. It should not be a surprise that Robert Plant’s new style encompasses the ranges of traditional folk music. Robert Plant has been a fan of traditional folk standards since the early days of Led Zeppelin. The album, Led Zeppelin III, contains the folk standard, “Gallows Pole”, which Robert Plant frequently puts on his recent setlists. Robert Plant also performs other classic Led Zeppelin songs from his setlist such as “Tangerine” and a slow-downed, bluegrass rendition of “Black Dog”.

Robert Plant also tours with very skilled backing musicians. He has previously toured with the phenomenal bluegrass singer, Alison Krauss, who adds rich layers to Robert Plant’s songs by harmonizing in perfect pitch with him. Robert Plant has also brought other talented bands such as Band of Joy and Sensational Space Shifters with him on tour to perform new songs as well as some of our favorite Led Zeppelin tunes. Robert Plant is one of the most well respected singers still out there performing. Rolling Stone magazine has included him on the list of “100 Greatest Singers of All Time” and he has also been nominated for numerous Grammy awards. If you get a chance to see him live, Robert Plant will prove to you how his style has matured with him for the better and why he is one of the best singers still performing.

Robert Plant at the Roundhouse 12th Nov 2014 The two Support acts were good too! Nugent & Belle, The Last Internationale. By the time Robert Plant & the Sensational Space Shifters came on it was packed, unsurprisingly for someone like Robert in a place the size of the Roundhouse. It was a great intimate gig, slightly marred by the overcrowding and the idiot in front of me who was threatening to cannon into everyone around him. Robert Plant seems to grow & mature all the time and now covers many genres, so we were treated to a mix of familiar and new - all of which worked well. There were 4 "official" LZ songs and 4 others that shared the same roots as other LZ songs - but whilst the band could rock as much as LZ, they were free to play and re-interpret which freshened all the songs. I loved the oldies and the new versions but for me it was some of the "new" numbers such as Little Maggie, Embrace Another Fall and A Stolen Kiss that were the real standout numbers. It would be great if they put out a live album - I felt the latter two worked so much better live than on the album. I'd love to see LZ live again, but if I had to choose between that and the continuing adventure of a fascinating and stimulating singer and his new band - I'd go with the Space Shifters.

I went to see Robert Plant and his new band the Space Shifters in Hollywood last month. The year 2014. My expectations were low. The "It's only a ruma" was that the band would play 4 or 5 Zeppelin songs, but very low key, very slow, and almost so stripped down, you would not actually be able to tell they were once part of "The Led Zeppelin" arsenal. The first song was, slow, stripped down and sort of sounded like it had a tad of Zep in it. Then things picked up, and grew, and there it was, live and in full color, "No Quarter" A very Led Zeppelin song, and without any holding back. Holy crap. There was also "Ramble On" and "Gong to California" all played with full strength, no holding back, Led Zeppelin goodness. Before each Zep song, Robert Plant would say "Do you want to hear another folk song" The new music was equally surprising. Robert Plant and the Space Shifters are an evolved "Led Zeppelin" type of band. This was a stunning night, and it was one of "Those" nights. Music history was made. Holy cow am I glad I made it to this show. And I am glad I did not eat any edibles, and have to take a cab home before the show started, like what happened the last time I tried to see Robert Plant.

Robert Plant & The Sensational Spaceshifters - wow - they were fantastic last night at The Roundhouse. Took me back to my "hippie" youth, especially when he was singing Led Zeppelin songs, like Whole Lotta Love, albeit newer versions, which were, in my opinion, equally as good as before.

I love the new music from The Ceaseless Roar album, and the band of musicians are of the highest quality and have been getting great reception from audiences on their current tour and also at festivals this year. Their sound is unique and the whole band look like they are really enjoying entertaining the audience and playing music that they love.

Robert Plant may have been around for a long time but that doesn't mean his voice has deteriorated. His humour is a little wicked but more articulate than some bands who just expect the audience to join in all the time and shout "Hello (fill in the blank with the relevant town!). OK, so he momentarily forgot the words of an old song, but not the tune.

I've waited a while to see him again. I hope the wait isn't as long next time.

Having last seen Robert Plant (with his Band of Joy) at The Sage Gateshead, I was looking forward to seeing him perform songs from his new album with the Sensational Space Shifters. Unlike The Sage gig, Robert seemed really up for it tonight and the laid back folksy feel of the last gig made way for a heavier, harder rocking concert that Robert, his bandmates and most definitely the crowd lapped up and enjoyed. Robert's voice was as strong as ever. Despite a few sound problems for one of the guitarists, the sound quality was better than usual for the O2 Academy and the venue was much more appropriate for the hard rocking list of songs that RP and his mates performed. A good mix of songs from an extensive catalogue made sure that everyone, old and new, left the gig smiling and happy. Everyone I talked to or overheard were saying just what a great gig it was and I just have to agree. One of the highlights of the year for me (and I gig extensively).

I first saw TO with Zeppelin in '72 & many times before Knebworth in '79.

Since then I have had the great enjoyment to see him with various back ups ....but over the last few years with his current system, he has BLOWN my mind away in proving he has to be one of greatest icons of rock music!

A TOTAL STUNNING display of talent, amazing vocals and SUPERB back up. - each gig rotates different Zep tracks - in a GREAT style added to some amazing new material ..

DO NOT MISS THIS!!!

(Oh what an interview a volunteer Jock on local community radio for years would love ...but that is NOT the reason for my comments and FANTASTIC ADMIRATION of a TRULY fantastic gig.....

I was lucky enough to see Robert Plant in bend Oregon on 10-3-19. It was one of the best concerts that I have ever been to. The venue is small and it was outside next to a river. My seats were 4 rows from the stage so I could see and hear him perfectly. What a night and what a performer. He still is as charming as ever and his voice is still as clear and a joy to listen to. He played an array of Zeppelin songs as well as carry fire songs too. I traveled 12 hours by car to attend this concert and it was well worth it

The day started off rough with rain all day. Then all the tickets had to be picked up at will call window which created a mess. After standing in the rain for 2 hours to get in, it didn’t matter - Robert Plant tore the venue up with his great singing and even did a lot of Led Zeppelin songs! What a fabulous band he had accompanying him! Awesome singer & band!

Robert Plant Saving Grace Belfast 2022 1

Posted By: ledzepnews 24th March 2023

Robert Plant will once again tour with his band Saving Grace, this time across Italy in August and September 2023.

Saving Grace band member Suzi Dian confirmed the upcoming tour on Facebook on March 24 , sharing the announcement that she and Plant will play seven shows in the country this year.

Plant last toured with Saving Grace in October and November 2022 when they played in Ireland and Scotland . The band has recorded its debut album although no announcement has been made so far of its release.

Tickets for the new tour will go on sale at 12pm Italian time on March 27 through this website .

Plant’s upcoming Italian tour with Saving Grace will follow his US and Canada tour with Alison Krauss that is scheduled to take place from April to July .

Here are the current planned tour dates for Saving Grace in Italy:

  • August 26 – Lignano Sabbiadoro, Italy
  • August 28 – Macerata, Italy
  • August 30 – Taormina, Sicily, Italy
  • September 1 – Locus Festival, Bari, Italy
  • September 3 – Ostia, Italy
  • September 5 – Milan, Italy
  • September 6 – Vicenza in Festival, Vicenza, Italy

Saving Grace has been recording an album

Saving Grace is clearly an important project for Plant,  with the band’s debut album on the way . Plant said on stage last year that the band had been recording in Steve Winwood’s studio in England.

LedZepNews revealed in 2021 that a British business owned by Plant secured trademarks for “Saving Grace” across Europe and the US in order to block anyone else from using that band name to release music or merchandise.

Plant has never taken out trademarks for his solo projects before, making this an unusual step that could indicate longterm interest in the Saving Grace project.

On January 23, 2020, lawyers representing a London company named Trolcharm Limited filed applications in Europe and the US to trademark “Saving Grace”.

Plant owns more than 75% of Trolcharm Limited,  according to Companies House filings in the UK . His three surviving children are directors of the business along with Plant.

The business owns the copyright to much of Plant’s solo career and is frequently credited in the liner notes of his albums, including “Raise The Roof.”

The trademark applications, which were all eventually approved, include the following fields:

▪ Audio and video recordings including digital downloads and CDs

▪ Live music footage

▪ Posters, stickers and magazines

▪ Bags, wallets, umbrellas and luggage

▪ Clothing including footwear and headgear

Taking out trademarks for his musical projects is a rarity for Plant. He hasn’t applied to trademark the names of his previous solo bands Strange Sensation, the Band of Joy or the Sensational Space Shifters.

Plant hasn’t trademarked his own name, either, unlike Jimmy Page who does own trademarks to protect his personal brand including his name, his autograph and the word “ZOSO.”

The Saving Grace filings are the only trademark applications ever filed by Trolcharm Limited or any other business used by Plant to run his solo career.

The presence of trademark filings don’t always mean that the trademark holder will actually launch the product or service they have the trademarks for.

First refuelling for Russia’s Akademik Lomonosov floating NPP

!{Model.Description}

robert plant tour july 2023

The FNPP includes two KLT-40S reactor units. In such reactors, nuclear fuel is not replaced in the same way as in standard NPPs – partial replacement of fuel once every 12-18 months. Instead, once every few years the entire reactor core is replaced with and a full load of fresh fuel.

The KLT-40S reactor cores have a number of advantages compared with standard NPPs. For the first time, a cassette core was used, which made it possible to increase the fuel cycle to 3-3.5 years before refuelling, and also reduce by one and a half times the fuel component in the cost of the electricity produced. The operating experience of the FNPP provided the basis for the design of the new series of nuclear icebreaker reactors (series 22220). Currently, three such icebreakers have been launched.

The Akademik Lomonosov was connected to the power grid in December 2019, and put into commercial operation in May 2020.

Electricity generation from the FNPP at the end of 2023 amounted to 194 GWh. The population of Pevek is just over 4,000 people. However, the plant can potentially provide electricity to a city with a population of up to 100,000. The FNPP solved two problems. Firstly, it replaced the retiring capacities of the Bilibino Nuclear Power Plant, which has been operating since 1974, as well as the Chaunskaya Thermal Power Plant, which is more than 70 years old. It also supplies power to the main mining enterprises located in western Chukotka. In September, a 490 km 110 kilovolt power transmission line was put into operation connecting Pevek and Bilibino.

For the first time Rosatom Fuel Division supplied fresh nuclear fuel to the world’s only floating nuclear cogeneration plant in the Arctic

The fuel was supplied to the northernmost town of Russia along the Northern Sea Route.

robert plant tour july 2023

The first in the history of the power plant refueling, that is, the replacement of spent nuclear fuel with fresh one, is planned to begin before 2024. The manufacturer of nuclear fuel for all Russian nuclear icebreakers, as well as the Akademik Lomonosov FNPP, is Machinery Manufacturing Plant, Joint-Stock Company (MSZ JSC), a company of Rosatom Fuel Company TVEL that is based in Elektrostal, Moscow Region.

The FNPP includes two KLT-40S reactors of the icebreaking type. Unlike convenient ground-based large reactors (that require partial replacement of fuel rods once every 12-18 months), in the case of these reactors, the refueling takes place once every few years and includes unloading of the entire reactor core and loading of fresh fuel into the reactor.

The cores of KLT-40 reactors of the Akademik Lomonosov floating power unit have a number of advantages compared to the reference ones: a cassette core was used for the first time in the history of the unit, which made it possible to increase the fuel energy resource to 3-3.5 years between refuelings, and also reduce the fuel component of the electricity cost by one and a half times. The FNPP operating experience formed the basis for the designs of reactors for nuclear icebreakers of the newest series 22220. Three such icebreakers have been launched by now.

For the first time the power units of the Akademik Lomonosov floating nuclear power plant were connected to the grid in December 2019, and put into commercial operation in May 2020. The supply of nuclear fuel from Elektrostal to Pevek and its loading into the second reactor is planned for 2024. The total power of the Akademik Lomonosov FNPP, supplied to the coastal grid of Pevek without thermal energy consumption on shore, is about 76 MW, being about 44 MW in the maximum thermal power supply mode. The FNPP generated 194 million kWh according to the results of 2023. The population of Pevek is just a little more than 4 thousand, while the FNPP has a potential for supplying electricity to a city with a population of up to 100 thousand people. After the FNPP commissioning two goals were achieved. These include first of all the replacement of the retiring capacities of the Bilibino NPP, which has been operating since 1974, as well as the Chaunskaya TPP, which has already been operating for more than 70 years. Secondly, energy is supplied to the main mining companies in western Chukotka in the Chaun-Bilibino energy hub a large ore and metal cluster, including gold mining companies and projects related to the development of the Baimsk ore zone. In September 2023, a 110 kilovolt power transmission line with a length of 490 kilometers was put into operation, connecting the towns of Pevek and Bilibino. The line increased the reliability of energy supply from the FNPP to both Bilibino consumers and mining companies, the largest of which is the Baimsky GOK. The comprehensive development of the Russian Arctic is a national strategic priority. To increase the NSR traffic is of paramount importance for accomplishment of the tasks set in the field of cargo shipping. This logistics corridor is being developed due regular freight voyages, construction of new nuclear-powered icebreakers and modernization of the relevant infrastructure. Rosatom companies are actively involved in this work. Rosatom Fuel Company TVEL (Rosatom Fuel Division) includes companies fabricating nuclear fuel, converting and enriching uranium, manufacturing gas centrifuges, conducting researches and producing designs. As the only nuclear fuel supplier to Russian NPPs, TVEL supplies fuel for a total of 75 power reactors in 15 countries, for research reactors in nine countries, as well as for propulsion reactors of the Russian nuclear fleet. Every sixth power reactor in the world runs on TVEL fuel. Rosatom Fuel Division is the world’s largest producer of enriched uranium and the leader on the global stable isotope market. The Fuel Division is actively developing new businesses in chemistry, metallurgy, energy storage technologies, 3D printing, digital products, and decommissioning of nuclear facilities. TVEL also includes Rosatom integrators for additive technologies and electricity storage systems. Rosenergoatom, Joint-Stock Company is part of Rosatom Electric Power Division and one of the largest companies in the industry acting as an operator of nuclear power plants. It includes, as its branches, 11 operating NPPs, including the FNPP, the Scientific and Technical Center for Emergency Operations at NPPs, Design and Engineering as well as Technological companies. In total, 37 power units with a total installed capacity of over 29.5 GW are in operation at 11 nuclear power plants in Russia. Machinery Manufacturing Plant, Joint-Stock Company (MSZ JSC, Elektrostal) is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of fuel for nuclear power plants. The company produces fuel assemblies for VVER-440, VVER-1000, RBMK-1000, BN-600,800, VK-50, EGP-6; powders and fuel pellets intended for supply to foreign customers. It also produces nuclear fuel for research reactors. The plant belongs to the TVEL Fuel Company of Rosatom.

Moscow Metro

The Moscow Metro Tour is included in most guided tours’ itineraries. Opened in 1935, under Stalin’s regime, the metro was not only meant to solve transport problems, but also was hailed as “a people’s palace”. Every station you will see during your Moscow metro tour looks like a palace room. There are bright paintings, mosaics, stained glass, bronze statues… Our Moscow metro tour includes the most impressive stations best architects and designers worked at - Ploshchad Revolutsii, Mayakovskaya, Komsomolskaya, Kievskaya, Novoslobodskaya and some others.

What is the kremlin in russia?

The guide will not only help you navigate the metro, but will also provide you with fascinating background tales for the images you see and a history of each station.

And there some stories to be told during the Moscow metro tour! The deepest station - Park Pobedy - is 84 metres under the ground with the world longest escalator of 140 meters. Parts of the so-called Metro-2, a secret strategic system of underground tunnels, was used for its construction.

During the Second World War the metro itself became a strategic asset: it was turned into the city's biggest bomb-shelter and one of the stations even became a library. 217 children were born here in 1941-1942! The metro is the most effective means of transport in the capital.

There are almost 200 stations 196 at the moment and trains run every 90 seconds! The guide of your Moscow metro tour can explain to you how to buy tickets and find your way if you plan to get around by yourself.
