European Tour 2022: Soudal Open to mark Belgium's return to Race to Dubai schedule
Soudal Open in Belgium to feature on the European Tour's 2022 schedule; the Australian PGA Championship is also on Race to Dubai schedule after being cancelled last year due to the coronavirus pandemic
By Sky Sports Golf
Tuesday 13 April 2021 13:30, UK
The European Tour will return to Belgium in 2022 when the Rinkven International Golf Club hosts the Soudal Open.
Belgium's national Open was last held as a strokeplay event in 2000, before being reborn for a two-year stretch as the Belgian Knockout - combining stroke play and match play - in 2018 and 2019.
The tournament will take place next May or June, with exact dates to be confirmed, while the event will offer a prize fund of €1 million euros (£867k) and be part of the 2021/22 Race to Dubai schedule.
The European Tour will return to Belgium in 2022 with the announcement of the Soudal Open, which will take place at The Rinkven International Golf Club in Schilde, near Antwerp. 🇧🇪 — The European Tour (@EuropeanTour) April 13, 2021
European Tour CEO Keith Pelley said: "Belgium has a strong tradition of European Tour events as well as history of producing some terrific talent, so we are delighted the country's national Open will be part of our schedule again next year."
Sir Nick Faldo, Lee Westwood and Darren Clarke are among the notable former winners of the Belgian Open, while Guido Migliozzi won the last edition of the Belgian Knockout.

The Rolling Stones are hitting the road again. In celebration of their sixth decade of rocking, the band announced dates for their summer 2022 European “Sixty” tour, which is slated to kick off at Wanda Metropolitano Stadium in Madrid, Spain on June 1 and keep them on the road through late July, with gigs in Munich, Liverpool, Amsterdam, London, Vienna and Paris, with the swing currently slated to wrap up with a July 31 show at Friends Arena in Stockholm, Sweden.

The run of shows in 10 countries in celebration of the band’s 60th anniversary will include the Stones’ first-ever stadium gig at the home of Liverpool FC, Anfield — their first time playing in the city in more than 50 years. The swing will also see them performing for two night at London’s Hyde Park as part of the massive American Express presents BST Hyde Park festival.
And it wouldn’t be a Stones tour if Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood didn’t unveil a new “Sixty Tongue” logo to go along with the outing, created by award-winning British designer Mark Norton. According to a release, the Concerts West-produced show promises “a massive stage, cutting edge lighting and state of the art video design.” Click here for ticket information.

These will be their first shows in their native UK since the death of beloved drummer Charlie Watts last summer, with replacement Steve Jordan on hand in his stead. The Euro swing comes on the heels of the Stones’ highest-grossing US “No Filter” stadium tour, which featured sales of more than half a million tickets in the fall of 2021.
Earlier this year, the Royal Mail teamed up with the group to roll out a series of 12 commemorative stamps , 8 of which captured them on various concert stages around the world, from Tokyo to New York City and London.

The best trip ever. Very well paced and you literally get to see everything.
Inconsistency. You where not upto date with travel directions & changes. You did not deduct gratuities as indicated. I think it best to go direct with the company & not a 3rd party. This way one gets a better idea of the extra costs involved. BUT thank you for enlightenment & I did have a great trip.

My name is Maria Luisa Velasquez,!I had the best tours Great Britain 7 days!! My tours leader Mike was an excellent leader, knowledgable. Our driver Russell a fantastic driver.
Our tour was everything we expected and more. Roma our tour guide was knowledgeable and demonstrated a true passion for the history of the places we visited and was always happy with a tip or recommendation to make our experience that much better. Ivo our driver for all but the last day of the tour was first class, a very good driver.

Was an amazing tour!
Hotels had dead cockroaches lying around, guide was sweet but not experienced at creating a cohesive group feel. On top of which, the credit that GAdventures gave me to compensate for the mediocrity of the trip expired in 6 months - even the airlines give you a year! And some trips have no option to have a private room (yes, I';m willing to pay extra for that).

First time travelling within a tour group and the experience with Europamundo was amazing and unforgettable. From the pickup at the airport on the first day of arriving in Athens Greece right through to the departure in Zurich Switzerland - 12 days later -Europamundo did not disappoint. The service provided, the professionalism, the interactions and friendliness of staff was absolutely superb, thank you.
Every thing went well

Rooms were very small for triple occupancy. Breakfast and dinner choices good, could have little better for vegetarians.
Our tour leader Bojan was great. Loved the optional made personal experiences. Would recommend to friends and family as a tour and tour guide.

A tour for the traveller rather than tourist. A lot of wasted time waiting for local guide sometimes 2hours. No advice on places to see, etc. Quality of hotels satisfactory as they varied such a lot and I like simple. Tour itinerary was very good and enjoyed the experience.
The highlights for me were Musala Peak, Rila Lakes, and Vihren peak. Our guide, Boryana, was positive, good at organising and planning everything and took care of our safety, she had an amazing attention to detail. The accommodationn was good, all very welcoming places, friendly staff and homely set up. I would have loved more detailed and accurate day to day itinerary, and to be handed a hard copy version in person when arriving. I had a very unpleasant exprience with the arrival transfer with the taxi - the driver was rude and I felt unsafe travelling at such speedd. Boryans's driving on the other hand was excellent, she was always keeping us informed about the journey ahead and provided local kowledge en route, always offering comfort brakes.

Loved that I was able to see so much.
Terrible customer service. Globus forgot to include airfare and then were never going to book it until I brought it to their attention. Then they refused to let me speak to anyone in management. These people will ruin your vacation.

We had an excellent experience. Everything was well organized. The tour company was very receptive to any questions. The guide was very knowledgeable. A couple of the hotels were just OK, but in general, they were just up to our standards. I will say that having an electric car was somehow stressful as our guide could not always find a place to recharge the car at night. He had to go back several times and wait for hours. It made his days very long as it had already been our driver and our guide all day.
We had a very good time during this tour! We truly recommend taking this one or any other tour with this company, it’s very well organized, informative and safe!

Best trip with awesome people!
Our tour manager Beck was amazing and has gone above and beyond her duties to make sure everyone was taken cared of and is having a very good experience! In the same way, our driver Tiago was great! The itineraries were very packed, as expected but Beck and Tiago have been amazing at making sure we still get the best experiences despite the very little time. Overall, joining this trip will allow you to see a lot of beautiful European places, have amazing photographs, and have good experiences without putting a huge dent in your wallet. With all these amazing things that I have to say, I have to put warnings here for people for them to know whether or not this is the right trip for them. First, this is a budget trip. Therefore, please do not expect the accommodations to be fantastic. The accommodations were functional but not with any wow factor. Next, Contiki caters to a predominantly to young travelers. If you are not heavy on partying, you may want to reconsider! Nobody forces you to party and tour managers will in fact arranged ways to get you back to the accommodations if you decide not to join nightly scheduled parties. However, even a lot of included and add-on meals involves a lot of heavy alcohol drinking. A lot of included and add-on meals are only okay at best. Do not expect amazing gourmet experience but do expect unlimited alcohol servings! Lastly, Contiki is an Australian company. Therefore, expect experiences to be catered to Australian culture. If you are an American or any nationality who values your quality personal space and personal time, this will not be the right trip for you!

The best trip in my life!
I absolutely loved the Real Britain tour by Trafalgar! Our guide Paul was very friendly and knowledgeable and had a great sense of humour which made our time so enjoyable! Our driver Ian was also very good! I would definitely recommend this tour for anyone who wants a well-rounded taste of England! I was very happy to see a bit of Scotland as well! The only thing I would ask is that Tour Radar would put more specific details about the tour on their site as it appears on Trafalgar’s website. I would have appreciated the list of the names of the hotels, optional experiences, and which particular meals were included etc. Having finished the tour, I know better where I would like to stay longer the next time I’m in England! I got to see so much amazing scenery in the countryside as we travelled and sights at the destinations we stopped. It was truly a wonderful and unforgettable experience!

I very much enjoyed seeing the beautiful Croatian coastline. Our tour guide was friendly and knowledgeable and seemed to have a real love for his country. My main criticism was that there were frequent incidents where things such as guides in the different areas were not included in the tour, so it felt like we were often paying for services that I would have thought would be part of the overall tour. I would have preferred to have paid more money up front than to have had the frequent requests for additional money.
The six of us enjoyed an excellent stay in the multicity tour and would gladly tour again with this company.

Wonderful! First time traveling outside of the US alone. It was a beautiful tour! Henry was amazing! He was full of knowledge and fun facts. The itinerary was awesome and well organized. So happy I went! I made life long friends sling the way! Recommend and will be using this tour again soon! Just book it! You’ll love it!

Everything about our Overland Ireland tour was a fulfillment of a dream. Our guide was knowledgeable, kind and personable. The bus was solid and clean. Ireland is a place of magic and we were immersed in its beauty. All That said I am extremely displeased with the service of Tour radar. Your communication skills are so sadly lacking. We went to the wrong starting point but it was the place YOU posted to go. We Wil NEVER se Tpur radar again. It was only through the kindness of our tour guide and several well placed phone calls that we actually got to go on the tour even though we were where we thought we needed to be at the right time.
Mike was an excellent guide, informative, very knowledgeable and flexible with the itinerary when necessary

Enjoy afternoon tea in London
Sample over 300-years of history in the simplicity of homemade scones with whipped cream and jam. This deliciously British treat is best enjoyed in the afternoon, complete with a hot cup of Earl Grey, cucumber sandwiches and a tower of sugary delights.
Explore ancient Athens
You don't need to be a historian to appreciate the significance of Athens. Your love affair with the city might begin with goddess Athena’s Parthenon temple and the ruins of Acropolis, but it’s likely to end in a quaint alleyway getting a glimpse at daily life in this ancient capital. The story of Athens continues to unfold.
Catch a flamenco show in Spain
Discover the soul-stirring emotion of a Flamenco show in Spain. This expressive art-form has an intangible cultural heritage recognised by UNESCO, merging song, dance and musical instruments into a performance that has to be experienced at least once. Finish with dinner of paella or tapas to round off your perfect evening.
View the Northern Lights in Iceland
Mother Nature’s wonders come to life with the Aurora Borealis or ‘Northern Lights’. In the frosty landscapes of Iceland, this light display offers viewers a genuine pinch-me moment as vivid colours dance across the night sky.
Spend a night at the opera in Vienna
Hear the talents of traditional opera with the ghosts of Mozart and Strauss in your presence. Though there are more than few places to catch the opera in Vienna, none can compare to the State Opera House (Staatsoper).
Our top 5 things to do in Europe & Britain
There are endless pinch-me moments to be found across the many countries that make up the continent of Europe. But where to even begin? Perhaps a Flamenco show in Spain, afternoon tea in London or a Northern Lights viewing in frosty Iceland? Here are some of the highlights of our Europe and Britain trips that you're sure to love.
Paris, France
The world’s largest gallery and the home of Leonardo da Vinci’s Mona Lisa, the Louvre is without rival in the art world and is a must see when in Paris. Allow an entire day to explore its eight departments, not missing the Egyptian antiquities, Islamic art and various halls of sculptures. End your day with sunset by the Louvre Pyramid.
London, England
The British Museum
With some eight million works within its permanent collection, The British Museum is an illustrious European landmark. Admire objects brought back from the voyages of Captain James Cook and walk in the controversial presence of the Parthenon Marbles.
Florence, Italy
Uffizi Gallery
The Tuscan capital is home to Uffizi Gallery, where the brushworks of art’s true masters can be found. Names like Raffaello, Leonardo, and Michelangelo fill Uffizi’s grand pink walls, whilst internal courtyards leading to the Arno River reveal the building’s architectural brilliance.
Best museums in Europe & Britain
When traveling Europe with Trafalgar, museum hopping is one of the best ways to understand the culture and history of the places you visit. You’ll find yourself critiquing ancient art and staring in awe at some of the world’s most prominent works. Here are some of our favorites.
Paella Valenciana
Saffron, snails, butterbeans and bomba rice are just some of the ingredients you might find in traditional Spanish paella. Despite originating from the coastal town of Valencia, Paella Valenciana is a variety without seafood. You'll love sitting back to enjoy a steaming plate over the sounds of Spanish jazz in a lively alfresco restaurant.
Beef Stroganoff
Now a staple dish in many parts of the world, beef stroganoff is best enjoyed in its birthplace in Russia with a vodka in hand. This simple dish of beef strips sauteed in a sour cream sauce offers a heart-warming taste of this country’s culinary heritage.
Bouillabaisse
The Mediterranean city of Marseille is where a French culinary icon can be found and devoured. The fragrant stew of bouillabaisse, commonly served with crusty white bread, boils up the finest local seafood and seasonal vegetables with the flavors of fennel, saffron and cayenne pepper.
Best food in Europe & Britain
Our trips to Europe gravitate around indulgent local mealtimes. With new cuisines and cooking methodologies found at every turn, this continent is simply delicious.
What to pack for Europe
With such a large expanse of space to explore, on some days, long journeys are unavoidable. The scenery will provide plenty of visual entertainment, while headphones can be used to listen to some local music or enjoy podcasts about European history, culture and politics when you're not enjoying the storytelling from your Travel Director.
A good book
Exploring Europe is best done at a relaxed pace with ample opportunity to absorb your surroundings. Dedicate a few days to sitting in a park or a cafe, alternating between reading and watching the world go by.
Versatile shoes
Within the space of one outing you may experience all kinds of terrain when in Europe. Pack shoes that can see you walking from an elegant restaurant to a cobbled footpath, with a stroll along the soft grass of a park in between.
A blank journal
With the wealth of inspiration tucked into every corner of Europe, you may find yourself compelled to write down notes or memories. At the very least to share recommendations with friends when you return home.
All climate clothing
No matter the time of year you travel, Europe can deliver a myriad of temperatures. From frosty cities of Scandinavia to the temperate hills of Portugal, layered clothing best suits the varying micro-climates across this continent.

European Challenge Tour Announces 2022 Schedule
Road to Mallorca comprises 31 tournaments in 18 different countries in 2022. Biggest total prize fund of more than €8.2m, an increase of €2m from 2021.

The European Challenge Tour has today announced a record-breaking global schedule for the 2022 season which will see the Road to Mallorca’s total prize fund surpass the €8,000,000 mark for the first time. The first 20 players will earn DP World Tour cards for the 2023 season.
The 2022 Road to Mallorca will consist of 31 tournaments staged across three continents in 18 different countries.
It includes a return to Scotland for the first time in four years when the Farmfoods Scottish Challenge supported by The R&A takes place in the final week of May. The event, which will be held in association with 1999 Open Champion Paul Lawrie, will be the first of 19 tournaments in consecutive weeks where the Road to Mallorca will weave through 15 countries and end in France, from September 29 – October 2.
The comeback of the Road to Mallorca to China in the Challenge Tour Schedule 2022.
The Challenge Tour also returns to China for the first time since 2019 with back-to-back events, including the Foshan Open, where players will be given a final chance to earn their spot in the season-ending Rolex Challenge Tour Grand Final supported by The R&A.
The Grand Finale of the Challenge Tour 2022 takes another bite from the venue of 2021.
The finale of the 2022 Road to Mallorca will return to Club de Golf Alcanada, the setting for the 2019 Grand Final, where the top 45 players on the Road to Mallorca Rankings will compete for one of 20 life changing DP World Tour cards for the 2023 season. The top five graduates will also receive the John Jacobs Bursary, announced last month as part of DP World’s title partnership of the European Tour group’s main Tour.
The 2022 schedule includes seven co-sanctioned events with the Sunshine Tour, including a maiden visit to Tanzania for the Mount Kilimanjaro Klassic at Kilimanjaro Golf & Wildlife Estate with Tanzania set to become the 52nd country to stage a Challenge Tour event.
Jamie Hodges, Head of Challenge Tour about the 2022 schedule:
“I am incredibly proud to unveil our schedule for the 2022 Road to Mallorca season, which boasts the biggest total prize fund since the Challenge Tour’s inception in 1989.”
“This expansive global schedule would not be possible without the incredible support of our promoters, national federations and tournament sponsors, so I would like to take this opportunity to thank them.
“We are also very grateful for the commitment of Rolex and The R&A, as well as DP World through their title partnership of the DP World Tour, all of which has helped us raise prize funds and increase playing opportunities for our members, further strengthening the Challenge Tour’s reputation as the perfect platform for players to achieve global success.”

The European Tour group and DP World today jointly announced a ground-breaking evolution to their long-term partnership, with DP World becoming the new title sponsor of the group’s main tour from the start of the 2022 season.
WORLD EXCLUSIVE: Greg Norman on the Asian Tour and breakaway league rumours
The agreement heralds a new era in the history of the European Tour group, which, along with DP World, will celebrate its 50 th anniversary in 2022, the first season of the newly named DP World Tour.
Today’s announcement represents a significant deal in terms of global sports partnerships, with DP World’s substantial commitment dedicated to three key areas: elevating the Tour in every way, growing the game of golf globally, and driving positive community impact.
The new look DP World Tour will see total prize money break through the $200 million mark for the first time, with a new minimum prize fund of $2 million for all tournaments solely sanctioned by the DP World Tour.
In 2022, the DP World Tour will represent a truly global tour through an international schedule, that will feature a minimum of 47 tournaments in 27 different countries, including new tournaments in the UAE, Japan, South Africa and Belgium and an expanded Rolex Series comprising five events: the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship, the Slync.io Dubai Desert Classic, the Genesis Scottish Open, the BMW PGA Championship and the season-ending DP World Tour Championship.

For the first time, it will also feature three tournaments co-sanctioned with the PGA TOUR – the aforementioned Genesis Scottish Open, as well as the Barbasol Championship and the Barracuda Championship taking place in the United States – as a result of the Strategic Alliance between male professional golf’s two leading Tours. The European Tour and DP World were both established in 1972 and have since developed into global enterprises with DP World, which is headquartered in Dubai, evolving into the leading provider of global smart end-to-end supply chain and logistics solutions.
DP World’s association with the European Tour spans more than a decade, first becoming a presenting partner of the European Tour’s Race to Dubai finale at Jumeirah Golf Estates in its inaugural year in 2009, before the Rolex Series event was renamed the DP World Tour Championship in 2012. It was in this year that DP World became the tournament’s title partner.
DP World then became an Official Partner of the European Tour in 2015, and they will now become the Official Title Partner of the Tour from the start of the 2022 season, which begins with the Joburg Open in South Africa, from November 22-25.
Keith Pelley, Chief Executive of the European Tour group, said: “Today’s announcement is undoubtedly a momentous one in the proud history of our Tour. The launch of the DP World Tour in 2022, coinciding with both of our 50th anniversaries, will herald a new era in global golf, and crucially it will benefit everybody involved – all our players, caddies, fans and partners – as well as making an important contribution to wider society.
“The entire ecosystem of our Tour will be strengthened because of this hugely significant deal, and that was essential to us and to DP World, who have been an incredible supporter of our Tour as well as golf more widely, from grassroots through to the elite professional game.
“The DP World Tour is, therefore, a natural evolution of our decade-long partnership, and the presence of ‘World’ in our new title better reflects our global reach.”

Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, Group Chairman and CEO of DP World, said: “DP World has been a partner of the European Tour for over a decade. Our long-standing partnership has provided an excellent platform to engage with customers, prospects, and stakeholders, and build our brand. We have relished the opportunity to support the Tour in growing the game of golf and improving access to the sport at all levels. The key to this success has been and will continue to be the shared vision and values that underpin the partnership.
“We both have a global mindset, are committed to inclusivity, and invest in new technologies to stay competitive – attributes which today become the fundamental principles of the DP World Tour. As the leading provider of smart logistics solutions worldwide, we will use our people, assets, and connectivity to help grow the Tour further and change what’s possible in golf.”
Jay Monahan, Commissioner of the PGA TOUR and Board Member of the European Tour, added; “Thanks to the support of long-standing partner DP World, today’s announcement significantly elevates the European Tour on a global basis. We are excited for the continued growth and evolution of the European Tour, as well as the momentum this provides toward our Strategic Alliance. I’ve said before that our respective Tours are positioned to grow – together – over the next 10 years faster than we ever have at any point in our existence, and today’s announcement is another point of proof in those efforts.”
