The KEYS TO THE SUMMER TOUR will bring the GRAMMY Award-winning global superstar back to North America for 23 arena dates and an all new, completely reimagined and redesigned concert experience and set list. The tour will feature Keys, for the first time ever, in a 360-degree, “in the round” production setup which will allow fans to experience her live performance in an entirely new and exhilarating way. Keys, known for incorporating innovative and engaging production design into her live performances, worked with director Diane Martel (who directed “If I Ain’t Got You” and “Like You’ll Never See Me Again” – two of Keys’ most powerful videos) and designer Chiara Stephenson to design the concept and staging of the KEYS TO THE SUMMER TOUR.
Of the first-time, “in the round” production staging, Keys says, “The KEYS TO THE SUMMER TOUR is going to be completely unforgettable and unmissable! I describe it as a celebration of freedom and self-liberation! It’s going to be colorful, magical and will light up your body, soul and all of your senses! This is my first time creating a 360 experience and we’ve made sure it’s like nothing you’ve ever seen! I’m so excited to see y’all this summer!”
The tour will also offer a variety of VIP packages and experiences for fans to take their concert experience to the next level. Packages vary and will range from inclusion of premium tickets to the chance to join Keys in an exclusive, intimate and inspirational “Soulcare Session” before the show. For more information, visit vipnation.com. Critically acclaimed for her stunning live concert performances, Keys’ last North American tour earned rave reviews from press with the Tampa Bay Times calling it an “outstanding live performance that cemented her as one of the greatest musicians and singers of all time.” VIBE dubbed the show “beautiful to witness” and The Atlanta Journal-Constitution said Keys set Atlanta “on fire.”

In conversation with libianca – touring with alicia keys, her journey since the voice & more [@iamlibianca].
Libianca’s tender Afro R&B vocals have been making the rounds with her viral track ‘People’. Now, a few more timeless singles deep and fresh off of announcing her tour with Alicia Keys – she continues to go from strength to strength , We sat down with her to have a chat.
Kat: Tell me about what it was like to work with JAE5 and Lojay on ‘I Wish’.
Libianca: It was a very great experience, to be honest. I learned lot, I was challenged. It was a vibe. It was something natural.
Kat: Tell us about your new single ‘Jah’.
‘ Libianca: Jah’ is a mixture of 2000s R&B with Afrobeats. The story of the song is being in close relations with someone and they just can’t let go of their trauma – you keep moving forward, past your own stuff and they seem to stay in the same place and so eventually you decide – as much as it hurts – to keep on going on. So I’m gonna put my trust in God and keep going in the path that I may not know exactly where I’m going, but I know that it’s gonna be somewhere good. It’s like the path of life, sometimes not everyone can come along with you.
Kat: How do you feel about Afro sounds like Afrobeats, Afrornb and Afropop having it’s moment and finally getting the global recognition it deserves ?
Libianca: I think it’s about time. There is a time for everything and what may be seen as not so good today, whatever it may be in a few years, the whole society’s perspective would be different. So I’m very happy that it is our time for our music and our culture to spread further than everybody itself.
Kat: How have you grown from being on The Voice to now and what’s the biggest lesson you’ve learnt throughout the process?
Libianca: I think I’ve learned more about the process of creating for myself. I’ve learned more about my own process. I’ve just learned that sometimes you just sit and it’ll come out. Other times you gotta dig a little deeper, it all depends. I’ve learned to just accept things for the way they are. I don’t have the time to be stressed when I’m getting older by the day, and it’s better for me to just smile my way through than look at things in a very negative way.
Kat: Was the success of ‘People’ something you expected? How does it feel to have blown from that song and what was it originally about?
Libianca: No, I didn’t expect it at all. I was thinking I would be even lucky to get like 20,000 views on TikTok, from when I posted the snippet, but clearly God had other plans, so that was cool and I was shocked. I still have moments of realisation like, “Wow, this is my life now because that song changed my whole life,” and all it was for me when I created it was a form of therapy with myself and in turn that became a song of therapy for the whole world. I think that’s very amazing.
Kat: I read that you have cyclothymia and that ‘People’ is inspired by that and I just wanted to ask, how do you feel that cyclothymia has an effect on your music?
Libianca: Everything I’m not makes me everything I am so the cyclothymia and just my mental health in itself definitely plays a part in how I create. I think a lot of people love my music because it’s so deep and it talks about a lot of things that people don’t talk about and that’s a very unique thing in today’s time. What I have is what I have and I’m not ashamed of it.
Kat: Describe what it was like when you got the call you were going to be supporting Alicia Keys this summer?
Libianca: I was over the moon. I grew up on her music, so it was definitely an inner child moment, the younger version of me was really happy – jumping on beds and all that stuff. I was having a time all throughout. I’m working with my team to get everything together and it’s a very fun process, ’cause she’s gonna be my first experience touring – it’s gonna be with her. That’s my first time ever, so that’s a very big milestone for me.
Kat: Who inspired you growing up that you’d want to work with in the future?
Libianca: A bunch, Keyshia Cole, Chris Brown, Rihanna.
Kat: How do you feel like being Cameroonian has had an effect on your sound?
Libianca: Everything you absorb is what you put out. Everything you take is what you give. So my culture – that’s my environment. The food I ate, the way I speak, the languages I speak – so it’s inevitable that that’s going to be a part of what I create and what I put out. I see it as something natural. I don’t really have a feeling towards it. I am proud of who I am, regardless.
Kat: What’s next for you this year?
Libianca: More music. Challenging myself, meeting my supporters. Challenging myself to the fullest and respecting myself more.

The Voice’s Libianca ‘People’ Hits Hot 100, Joins Alicia Keys Tour
The Voice 21 alum Libianca enters the Billboard Hot 100 with ‘People’, hitting the road with Alicia Keys
The Voice season 21 alum Libianca officially hits the Billboard Hot 100, as her breakthrough single “People” debuts at No. 91 on the chart dated May 13, marking her first entry.
According to Billboard , the song, released Dec. 5, 2022, via 5K/RCA Records, landed on the chart with 5.9 million U.S. streams (up 33%), 2.7 million radio airplay audience impressions (up 28%), and 1,000 downloads sold (up 40%) in the April 28-May 4 tracking week, according to Luminate. It’s radio reach is growing. The song starts at No. 37 on Rhythmic Airplay and No. 39 on Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay.
The song’s streaming gains can be partly attributed to multiple remixes of the track: with Becky G (released April 21); Ayra Starr and Omah Lay; and Cian Ducrot, as well as a sped-up version.
The song also surges into the top 40 of both of Billboard‘s global charts, bounding 41-19 on Billboard Global Excl. U.S. and 47-25 on the Billboard Global 200.
Tik Tok Viral Sensation
TikTok helped propel the song’s popularity. A segment of the original has been used in over 1.6 million clips on the platform to-date. A piece of the song’s sped-up version has been used in more than 265,000 clips.
Billboard interviewed the Cameroonian-American Afrobeats singer in April. About uploading the song and realizing it went viral, LiBianca said: “Waking up the next morning to so many people feeling so connected to the song. I saw families sending me videos of their babies singing the song, and women messaging me about the s–t that they go through in their homes and how this song needs to drop ASAP because it’s calling to their hearts.”
Libianca’s The Voice journey took her to the Top 20 in 2021
Libianca, was born Libianca Kenzonkinboum Fonji in Minneapolis before relocating to Cameroon. On The Voice in 2021, the singer got as far as the Playoffs on Team Blake Shelton . She auditioned with SZA’s “Good Days.” Both coaches Ariana Grande and Blake Shelton turned their chairs.

Whilst many artists bemoan the added pressure from labels to cater to TikTok, in particular, for those in the beginning stages of their careers, the opportunity to share their music at the tap of a screen, paired with enough creativity to stand out from the algorithm, can be life-changing.
One artist who has defied the algorithmic odds through sheer emotional resonance, as well as savvy social media use, is Libianca Kenzonkinboum Fonji, commonly known as Libianca . The 22-year-old, Cameroonian-American singer/songwriter has been riding high on her deserved success after over a decade of honing her craft and building a career cross-continentally and beyond, from her parents taking her to perform at local Cameroonian community events on the weekend, to a stint as a contestant on The Voice USA back in 2021 , making it to the Top 20 before elimination.
Breaking into consciousness with the song “People”—originally posted as a snippet on social media before spiralling into the top of the charts worldwide, landing at No. 2 on the UK Singles Chart, as well as across Europe, Canada and New Zealand—the Minnesota-born artist has gone from strength to strength in a matter of months, backed by her label, the London-based 5K Records, the Sony imprint co-founded by JAE5 and the team behind the likes of J Hus, 2K Management.
What made “People” resonate with so many was Libianca’s honest songwriting, channelling her own experience with mental health struggles—in particular the rare mood disorder, cyclothymia. The now instantly recognisable chorus (“I’ve been drinking more alcohol for the past five days… Did you check on me?”) has driven thousands of user-generated videos, with Libianca’s own vulnerability giving space for others to tell their own stories.
Although “People” and its various versions and remixes ( including one with Afrobeats starlets Ayra Starr and Omah Lay ) have collectively amassed over 270 million streams on Spotify alone, Libianca’s success represents the wider rising profile of ‘Afro-R&B’, a sound which brings together African melodies and the smooth, soulful elements of R&B (see: Tems, Ckay, Tay Iwar). A natural progression of globalisation and immigration that sees Gen Z musicians blend the noughties R&B they grew up listening to on the ‘net or on the radio, with the African music played at home, Afro-R&B seems part of the natural progression of African music’s increasing dominance on the world stage.
Speaking with us as she prepares to finish up a forthcoming EP and join Alicia Keys on her Keys To The Summer world tour, Libianca touches on keeping grounded amidst her whirlwind success, musical influences, and her blended childhood growing up between Cameroon and the United States.

COMPLEX: Hey, Libianca! Firstly, I just want to say congratulations on the success of “People”. It’s been really great seeing the song take off around the world over the past few months. When did it click that your life was going to change forever following the track’s virality? Libianca: Honestly, about a week after I posted the initial clip of me singing “People” on TikTok, I tried not to pay too much attention in case I was disappointed with the engagement. When I finally did check, it just kept multiplying and I couldn’t believe it; everything happened so fast from then on. A lot of my life lately has revolved around preparation: I’ve been going to the studio to finish up my forthcoming EP, preparing for the next step ahead. I’ve also been rehearsing my setlist for the tour with Alicia Keys next month. The best way to combat any nerves, for me, is preparation, so I always double down on that to make me feel ready for anything.
“People” is hard to categorise in terms of genre, but it sits at the growing intersection of Afro-R&B-fusion that is being widely embraced at the moment. What or who were some of your musical influences growing up? I grew up on the good stuff: Cameroonian music, Nigerian music, highlife—all of it was naturally woven into my childhood because I grew up in Cameroon, too. My music is a direct reflection of my influences: R&B, Afrobeats, soul, and their intersection is my ‘sweet spot’. The likes of Charlotte Dipanda and Ben Decca , the Nigerian pop artists like P Square and Iyanya… Even whilst in Africa, huge U.S. stars like Keyshia Cole, Rihanna and others were still being played and part of the musical fabric alongside African artists, as and when their songs came out in the States.
You were born in America, in the city of Minneapolis, but you also spent many years in Cameroon, where your family’s from. Was there a culture shock when you moved back to Minnesota aged 13? I was still young enough to take it in my stride and adapt. Although it wasn’t too challenging, there were a few shocks. I remember coming to America and being shocked that you couldn’t walk anywhere in the same way, you had to have a car to get anywhere. One funny thing I do remember is telling everybody I came from London throughout high school and completely forgetting until my friend reminded me. I didn’t even try; I had the deepest Cameroonian accent and for absolutely no reason, I think I said I’d come to Minnesota for a change of scenery or something silly! I haven’t been back to Cameroon in over six years but that will always be home and I do plan on going back soon. I’m expecting a red carpet rollout! I’m ready to revisit all the places I went to as a kid and reconnect with my family.
You’ve been developing your craft almost your entire life. You signed a record deal in Cameroon when you were 16 years old, took professional vocal lessons when you moved back to the States, and sang in the choir at every church you attended. What have you learnt on the journey? It was definitely a musical education and I soaked up all the technical skills that I would use when making music much later on. I learnt how to engineer, how to record—although I knew how to write a song and sing it, that experience gave me the confidence and knowledge to make more decisions about the rest of the music-making process and take ownership. My career has been in the making for over fifteen years, and what’s brought me to this point is absorption. I’m a visual learner, and I learn by ear. If I like something, I’m going to figure out what I like and why, and learn how to recreate it. My parents managed me at points in their career and they did the best they could with what they had, so I’m forever grateful. My dad would take me to these local Cameroonian community events to perform—weddings, graduations, barbeques, you name it! As a teenager, I resented it because I wanted to be like other kids on the weekends, but in hindsight, it really helped develop me as an artist and as a performer.
{ "id": 133914906 } “JAE5 actually knows my sound inside out, but he also knows me well enough to push me out of my comfort zone and encourage me to experiment.”
Looking at your discography outside of “People”, which resonated with so many people because of its honesty, your lyrics are quite vulnerable. What’s your creative process like? It’s honestly never the same. Sometimes all I have is a melody with no lyrics; other times, nothing but the lyrics. I like to keep it varied so that I’m never bored. It’s sporadic, to say the least! I’ll sometimes record acapella then send it over to one of my producers for us to work it out from there. I’m lucky enough to have a solid network of producers that I’ve worked with throughout the years, before “People”, and they understand my process. I was in London for promo earlier this year and had a lot of sessions with some producers. We were getting to work! I loved every single one of them: 4Play, Phantom, TSB, JAE5… JAE5 actually knows my sound inside out, but he also knows me well enough to push me out of my comfort zone and encourage me to experiment. In terms of my creative process on a more general level, in order for me to make the best music, I have to be in-tune with myself as a person before I can turn to creating anything, making sure I’m meeting my wants and needs, that I’m emotionally well and processing anything in my personal life.
With your personal wellbeing so intrinsically tied to your creative output, how do you keep yourself grounded and encouraged when things get tough? What’s kept me going is a combination of equal parts a fear of failure and a desire to touch as many people’s lives as I can through my music. Music is the only universal language—it travels so far and wide and has such a profound effect on people that I want to use my music to influence or encourage people for the better. I have a book called The Confident Woman by Joyce Meyer that I read. I’ll spend some time praying in the morning before I really engage with the chaos of the day if there’s a lot going on. In that sense, my faith and my relationship with God and my purpose has also played a major part in bringing me peace. Although social media is a part of my job, I know when to put my phone down, or go outside and take a hike, or spend some time with my dog, Zeus, who is basically my best friend and my baby! Taking care of myself and balancing my career and my life allows me to be the best I can be, even though it’s very easy to be swept away by the momentum. I also keep a really solid team around me who empower me and make me feel at home wherever we go.
You’ve mentioned an upcoming EP, but what are your plans for the future in terms of your music career and beyond? Two things are certain: I’m going to squeeze the most I can out of my life, every last drop until there’s nothing left, and I’m going to connect with so many more like-minded people to make more music. I’ll be giving hugs, spraying dollars, just spreading joy! There are two singles and an EP in the works so I’m also excited for everybody to hear what I’ve been working so hard on. Outside of music, my manager and I—his name is Metro and he’s also a good friend; the ying to my yang—we founded a creative agency called Westside Creative Agency in 2021, and got some of our friends together to create a team that brings together our skills—from photography to hair and makeup. I keep it all in-house wherever I go. Although I may seem difficult when I insist on a particular creative, it’s because I feel confident in their abilities but also because I’m bringing opportunities to my talented friends so that they can take it further and hone their craft. Everybody eats over here!

Tsarskoe Selo, the Tsars' Village at Pushkin
Tsarskoe Selo, in the town called Pushkin near St. Petersburg , is one of the area's most impressive sights. The palace complex of Tsarskoe Selo (which means “Tsars' Village” in Russian) includes attractions that are popular draws on their own: the Catherine Palace and parks, the Alexander Palace and parks, and associated outbuildings that have been restored or renovated into exhibition spaces. The entire complex is a part of the UNESCO-protected Russian World Heritage site and will dazzle you with its beauty so completely, you'll be seeing tsars!
Sights at Tsarskoe Selo
When you visit Tsar's Village for the first time, you'll want to be aware of four broad-category sights. On a second visit to the royal complex, consider taking in some of the secondary attractions or temporary exhibitions on the grounds, most of which have separate entry fees and require time dedication.
- Catherine Palace : The Catherine Palace is one of two grand palaces at Tsarskoe Selo. Though it was built by Empress Elizabeth and named for her mother, Catherine, it was the better-known Catherine the Great who made the palace her place of summer residence, employing the work of architects and craftsmen to customize the palace to her particular tastes and requirements. Visitors to the Catherine Palace will feel Catherine the Great's presence and her love of luxury within its sumptuous rooms. The Catherine Palace wasn't used by any Russian tsar as regularly as Catherine the Great, so her influence in the palace's appearance remains. The Catherine Palace is also where visitors can see the recreated Amber Room , which glows with the careful placement of tons of many-hued Baltic Sea amber.
- Catherine Park : Visitors have plenty to feast their eyes on here; the Catherine park is much more than the name implies. The grounds include the gardens and outbuildings associated with the Catherine Palace, many of which have been renovated and can also be viewed from the inside. Take a ferry around the Great Pond or explore the park on foot while you envision Catherine the Great out on a stroll with her beloved dogs, who are buried in a special cemetery designated specifically for them.
- Alexander Park : The Alexander Park is less groomed than the Catherine Park, but given its closeness to the Alexander Palace, it isn't difficult to imagine Nicholas II's children playing here. The infamous mystic, Rasputin, was also buried in the area directly after his death, but so reviled was he that the body was disposed of after the Revolution.
Planning Your Visit to Tsarskoe Selo
Seeing Tsarskoe Selo in its entirety will take a whole day or more, so plan to arrive early and leave late, especially during the summer months when tourist numbers swell. Most guided tours are in Russian. English-language tours are subject to guide availability, and Tsarskoe Selo doesn't accept advance booking for individual visitors to the museum.
Almost every section of Tsarskoe Selo requires its own entry fee, so if you're on a budget, you'll want to have an idea of ticket prices and the complete cost of admission to all of the sights you want to see. Catherine Park and Catherine Palace tickets must be purchased together. You can buy tickets to the Alexander Palace once you're there, but the Alexander Park requires no entry fee.
Prepare to overpay for refreshments and snacks at the palace complex. Look for vendors selling popular Russian street food, such as blini, to dine on the run and save both time and money. Cafes within the palace complex give you the opportunity to rest your feet while you refuel.
To learn more about ticket prices, hours of operation, and both temporary and permanent exhibitions, visit the Tsarskoe Selo website, which can be accessed in both English and Russian languages.

Alicia Keys' Son Genesis Is A Total Taylor Swift Fan
T aylor Swift has fans of all ages, all over the globe. Even the children of other superstars are fans of hers too. One such fan is Genesis Dean — the youngest son of Alicia Keys and her husband Kasseem Dean (aka Swizz Beatz) . Genesis was born in 2014 and, at the iHeartRadio Music Awards in 2019, he couldn't look away from Swift. In a clip that iHeartRadio shared to X , formerly known as Twitter, the young Genesis waved at Swift while being held by his father. She smiled and waved back.
Genesis being enraptured by Swift became a part of Keys' acceptance speech for the Innovator Award at the show. During the speech, Keys mentioned chatting with her seatmates Swift and Maren Morris. The "Girl On Fire" singer added, "Actually, my son Genesis I think is maybe trying to take Taylor out later tonight" (via X ). The crowd (including Swift) laughed and Keys said, "He's working on it, I'm not sure how it's gonna go, but he's looking pretty good right now."

Genesis Got To Give Swift A Friendship Bracelet
Genesis Dean and Taylor Swift's sweet bond was solidified after he and Alicia Keys attended Swift's Eras Tour in August 2023. They watched the show and got to meet Swift afterward. Keys posted about the experience on Instagram with a variety of clips and photos from the evening, along with throwbacks from Swift and Genesis' meeting at the 2019 iHeartRadio Music Awards. The post was captioned, "Big love to @taylorswift for your big beautiful spirit that makes everyone feel loved! Genesis adores u [purple heart emojis]."
Keys' post included a video of Swift giving Genesis a sweet kiss on the cheek and of Genesis giving her a friendship bracelet. He seemed to be wearing a shirt that read, "A Lot Going On at the Moment," referencing a matching shirt that Swift sometimes wears during the "Red" section of the concert (and a similar shirt from the "22" music video that read, "Not A Lot Going On at the Moment").
Some videos in the post also chronicled a sweet surprise from Swift. "She made sure I got it special for you, that's what she said," Keys told Genesis. "For me?" he asked, to which his mom replied, "Just for you!"
Fans Thought Genesis And Swift's Post-Eras Meeting Was Very Cute
The gift in question was a note from Taylor Swift to Genesis Dean. Alicia Keys had Genesis open the letter and then she read it aloud to him: "Gen, Hi my friend!! I was so excited when I heard you were coming tonight!! I hope you have so much fun at the show. I'll be waving at you!! Love, Taylor." The letter, which was screenshotted from Keys' video on Instagram and uploaded to the TaylorSwift subreddit , was written on personalized stationery. Fans on Reddit got a kick out of it, since printed under Swift's name were the words, "Songwriter. Feline Enthusiast."
Genesis seemed happy with the gift, and when someone suggested he keep it in a frame, he declared, "I'm gonna frame it! I'll frame it!" He also thanked Swift and added, "I loved your show and I'm happy that I got to meet you again." If it wasn't official before, it is now that Genesis is the ultimate Swiftie.
Other Swifties thought the interaction was adorable. In a tweet on X reposting Keys' videos and pictures, one person replied , "This is the cutest thing to ever happen in pop culture." Another said , "How wonderful is this," with a red heart emoji.
