The Band Perry is an American Country-pop trio made up of siblings, Kimberly Perry Reid Perry and Neil Perry, who formed in 2005.

The band formed after Kimberley initially attempted to launch her solo singing career as a teenager, with Perry and Neil acting as her roadies and opening act as a duo. She eventually combined with her brothers after years of practicing and playing together during their childhood in hometown Alabama, and The Band Perry were born. The threesome embarked on the New Faces of Country Tour in in 2005.

The group were picked up during the summer of 2009 by newly formed Republic Nashville records, an American country label operating under Universal, after being taken under the wing of Country act manager Bob Doyle.

They quickly released their debut single in late 2009, “Hip to My Heart”, which was a success, landing at number 20 on the Billboard Country Chart, and establishing the siblings trademark pop and country blending style.

An EP titled “The Band Perry EP” was produced shortly after, but they achieved major breakthrough success with their eponymous debut studio album “The Band Perry”, which was released in 2010. The album featured the chart topping single “All Your Life”, as well as a host of other catchy country songs that helped the band gather momentum. Their debut album has sold over 1 million copies.

The southern siblings began work with legendary hip-hop producer Rick Rubin on their follow up album “Pioneer” a few years later, before its release in 2013. The second album was as equally successful as the first, serving up a second number one single in the form of “DONE.” for the band.

The trio recently performed before the 2014 Superbowl game, one of the most watched sports spectacles in the world. They’ve also rocked out on multiple sold out tours in the US and been nominated for and won a host of awards such as the Teen Choice awards and the Grammys.

Live reviews

In the past we’ve seen family bands be one of two things -- really cheesy like the ones on TV like The Brady Bunch or Partridge Family or they could be disastrous like the Davies brothers of the Kinks or Oasis’ Gallagher brothers. However it looks like The Band Perry is something completely different.

Composed of Kimberly, Neil and Reid Perry, this brothers and sister trio has been taking the world by storm with their gritty country tunes and impeccable showmanship. Signed to Republic Nashville, The Band Perry may have been playing together for a long time but didn’t break into the big time until ‘If I Die Young,’ off their self-titled 2010 debut album, released. Since then, they have been dominating in the country music scene and playing to packed crowds of all ages. And perhaps the reason they’re able to charm everyone from your little brother to your great-grandmother is because of their overall interaction with the crowd. Kimberly always makes sure she’s got everyone on the feet and clapping or even invites people to get onstage them with them.

Now well into their ‘We Are Pioneers’ World Tour, the band’s first headlining series of gigs, their clear familial chemistry onstage is tighter than ever. Not only do they support each other onstage, but they sure as hell know how to rock out on the country stage -- so much so, that even the biggest country skeptic will get into it.

The Band Perry is an American country music group composed of siblings Kimberly Perry, Reid Perry and Neil Perry. This family affair has proven a winning combination Stateside with their two first albums hitting the top 5 of the US Billboard chart.

They have also scored a huge amount of hits on the US country chart, and these singles make up the bulk of their live setlist. It is unusual for siblings not to bicker, yet the three musicians seem in complete unity onstage as they perform pitch perfect renditions of 'Done' and 'Night Gone Wasted'. The smooth melodies sound completely delightful and Kimberley's country vocal really commands the stage and the venue.

The audience clap, dance and cheer along to highlights including a stomping rendition of 'If I Die Young'. The band performs two brilliantly original covers, the already country inspired 'Timber' by Ke$ha and Pitbull and a singalong of Queen's 'Fat Bottomed Girls'. The band brings proceedings to a close with a storming version of 'Better Dig Two' where the trio really showcase their abilities with their respective instrument.

Absolutely amazing... I've seen dozens of shows in many different venues and this trio blew my mind. I've been a fan for few years now and was very excited to finally see them and they are even better live. Can't wait till they come back so i can see them again. In my top 5 favorite shows up there with greats like Garth Brooks To The Band Perry keep doing what you're doing.

Excellent show!! I especially enjoyed the venue and how small it was... it was like a personal concert just for us. My daughter and granddaughter were absolutely thrilled to be within arms reach of the band. It was a very enjoyable evening with fun had by all!

They were okay, but not great. A lot of the crowd left, heard people saying they wished they'd heard more of their old sound. I like the new pop stuff, but felt they overused the synthesizer.

The Boot

The Band Perry Tour Dates Mean Close Quarters, Closer Siblings

With a tour schedule that keeps them moving from town to town the majority of the year, the Band Perry , sister Kimberly and brothers Neil and Reid, have remained close, not only in proximity, as necessitated by tour bus travel, but as a trio of siblings with a shared dream. One result of their dream come true can be found on the country charts, as the threesome has the reigning No. 1 album, the recently-released Pioneer . But instead of covered wagon, they're traveling by motorcoach.

"Our own bunks is always a good plan," Kimberly jokes with The Boot of the basic requirements when it comes to their bus. "It's amazing, it seems like a small space but you can actually find your different areas to get away. We have a front lounge and a back lounge, so sometimes the boys'll be watching TV up front and I'll just kind of tiptoe to the back and watch a little 'Say Yes to the Dress' or some girly show."

"You've got your stuff in there, you've got your pillow in there, so that's where I usually go and just close the curtain and read," adds Neil.

Although they're family (or perhaps because they are), Reid notes their closeness can sometimes cause one or more of them to act out.

"For the most part," he says, "we will act our current ages, but sometimes we revert back to the 12-year-old selves. But depending on how long you're out on the road, you may start pushing buttons just for entertainment, just to have a little fun.

"That's Reid's favorite game," says his sister, with no argument from Reid.

On the subject of games, The Boot asked the siblings to answer questions about each other, which reveals more about just how close they are. Here's how they answered:

Who takes the longest to get ready?

Reid: Neil.

Kimberly: Not because he has more to do, but because of his pace.

Reid: Yeah he's so slow.

Neil: I'll accept it.

Who makes the rules for the three of you?

Kimberly: Ooh. I think we each make our own rules.

Neil: Each of us do, yeah.

Reid: Yeah. And then try and enforce them on the others.

Kimberly: It is a true democracy, except for when each of us has our own opinions and that's when the firecrackers start. That's always fun.

The Band Perry

The Band Perry will hit the road later this year as part of their 2019 The Good Life Tour. The trek, which kicks off Oct. 12 in North Carolina, will include over 20 dates throughout North America.

The tour borrows its name from the band’s new single “The Good Life.” A biting song about infidelity, frontwoman Kimberly Perry says the track was written “during a toxic and incredibly difficult time in my life, but I’m singing it to you now with the voice of a woman who has completely regained a strong sense of self, rebuilt her womanhood, and is grateful to have learned so much.”

“The Good Life” is a taste of new music for the sibling trio, who promise to release more songs leading up to 2020. The Band Perry will perform some of the unreleased tracks on their upcoming fall tour.

The Band Perry Have Called It Quits for Now, but Why?

Chris Barilla - Author

Mar. 29 2023, Updated 3:21 p.m. ET

Remember The Band Perry ? The country band hit instant success in 2010 with their second single “If I Die Young," which catapulted them to stardom and made them one of the most talked-about acts in the genre.

But things changed rather quickly and now it seems like they just disappeared. But what happened? Where did they go? We did some digging to see where they've been and where they are now.

What ever happened to The Band Perry, anyway?

The Band Perry — a trio of siblings Kimberly Perry, Reid Perry, and Neil Perry — was once known as one of country music’s most promising acts. “If I Die Young” went seven-times platinum and was named CMA’s 2011 Single and Song of the Year. The band also earned "Best New Artist" at the CMAs and ACMs.

But the country route wasn't the only one they'd take, as according to Rolling Stone , the band decided to redirect a few years into their existence in favor of an electric-pop direction.

The sibling group released the album “Coordinates” in Sept. 2018, five years after their departure from the country scene. Their second country album, "Pioneer," then went No. 1 on the Top Country Albums chart and was certified gold.

The Band Perry was open about why they changed their music direction.

The pivot away from country music shocked plenty of longtime fans when it happened, but there was some solid reasoning behind it at the time.

“Our mission is to be exactly who we are and be able to put it out in real time,” Kimberly told Billboard when the decision was announced. She reiterated that sentiment to Rolling Stone , saying, “Now, we’re not chasing money. We’re chasing ourselves.”

Kimberly continued at the time by noting, “We almost had to get into a more spiritual mode, where music nirvana is being free to put out music at the speed of creation. Free to not have to live inside of the thought of, ‘Oh, if I don’t put a banjo on this, am I going to be crucified?’ No, if the banjo brings you further into the desert and the feeling that we’re trying to curate, then cool. If it doesn’t, you don’t have to.”

In 2023, The Band Perry announced that they are going on hiatus.

After years of a tumultuous existence and having not released music together since 2019's "The Good Life" and "Nite Swim," it seems as though The Band Perry have decided that they're going to take a break from working together. They shared on Instagram on March 27, 2023 that they're parting ways for now.

"We wanted to let you know that the three of us have decided to take a creative break as a group and each focus on our individual creative pursuits," the statement reads. "During this season, we will continue to support each other as artist and family in all we do."

"Thank you for making our childhood dreams come true!" the group added to thank fans for their support.

Fans of Noughties pop band furious after ticket prices slashed due to poor sales

Nick Jonas, Joe Jonas, an Kevin Jonas perform onstage during Jonas Brothers Five Albums, One Night Tour

It’s been a strange week for The Jonas Brothers – and for their fans – as ticket prices for recent concerts were unexpectedly slashed at the last minute.

The pop rock trio of Joe, Nick, and Kevin – who broke out after their appearances on the Disney Channel in the 2000s – are currently on tour in Australia.

But apparently things haven’t quite been going to plan , with ticket prices for one of the band’s concert in Sydney reportedly being slashed after disappointing sales.

The tour was announced in July, with tickets costing anything from $80 (AUD), equivalent to roughly £40, to almost $1,000 (£514) in special cases.

However, moments before the tour’s opening night in Sydney at the Qudos Bank Arena, it’s alleged that tickets were given away for free, allowing some fans entry for nothing after devotees had already shelled out hundreds to get in.

The move was apparently made after numerous tickets failed to sell before opening night, with high prices cited as one of the reasons why fans didn’t hand their cash over.

TikTok user and Jonas Brothers obsessive Nat McLennan said that tickets originally priced at $250AUD (£128) were suddenly being given away for less than half that in a bid to get concert-goers into the arena.

She said in a video: ‘If you guys didn’t know – and you probably didn’t because the marketing was s**t – the Jonas Brothers are in Australia right now. Of course I knew this, being a lifelong fan. I got my tickets in presale.

‘But the band’s management but two shows in Sydney and Melbourne and they didn’t sell out, so now it’s the week of the concert, and some of those tickets were free 10 minutes before the show on Friday night.’

Nat continued: ‘My ticket that I bought for $250AUD, in general admission standing, is now $80AUD (£41).’

However, some fans offered alternate theories, with some suggesting that the Jonas Brothers name isn’t as big in Australia as it used to be, while others theorised that recent tours there by Taylor Swift and Pink might have harmed their sales.

Another TikTok user, Jayne, commented: ‘Jonas Brothers were one I was like “Ooh would like to see”, but then the prices were so high. If prices had started this low, I reckon they would have sold out.’

Meanwhile, another video uploaded to the social media website by Annabelle Ryan showed a ‘complimentary offer’ standing ticket that was listed at $0.00 on the Australian ticketing website Ticketek.

On the same website as of Monday, March 4, numerous seats are still available for the band’s upcoming concerts in Brisbane and Melbourne. However, all available tickets are being sold at $150 (£77).

Meanwhile, Joe Jonas’ ex-wife Sophie Turner has been busy moving on from the singer after the pair finalised their divorce during the autumn of 2023.

In recent photos, the Game of Thrones actress, 28, was seen with rumoured new boyfriend Peregrine Pearson in Paris and London, while also showing off a recent skiing holiday in the French Alps.

Metro.co.uk has contacted the Jonas Brothers’ management and Ticketek for further clarification.

Moscow Metro

The Moscow Metro Tour is included in most guided tours’ itineraries. Opened in 1935, under Stalin’s regime, the metro was not only meant to solve transport problems, but also was hailed as “a people’s palace”. Every station you will see during your Moscow metro tour looks like a palace room. There are bright paintings, mosaics, stained glass, bronze statues… Our Moscow metro tour includes the most impressive stations best architects and designers worked at - Ploshchad Revolutsii, Mayakovskaya, Komsomolskaya, Kievskaya, Novoslobodskaya and some others.

What is the kremlin in russia?

The guide will not only help you navigate the metro, but will also provide you with fascinating background tales for the images you see and a history of each station.

And there some stories to be told during the Moscow metro tour! The deepest station - Park Pobedy - is 84 metres under the ground with the world longest escalator of 140 meters. Parts of the so-called Metro-2, a secret strategic system of underground tunnels, was used for its construction.

During the Second World War the metro itself became a strategic asset: it was turned into the city's biggest bomb-shelter and one of the stations even became a library. 217 children were born here in 1941-1942! The metro is the most effective means of transport in the capital.

There are almost 200 stations 196 at the moment and trains run every 90 seconds! The guide of your Moscow metro tour can explain to you how to buy tickets and find your way if you plan to get around by yourself.

Touring the Top 10 Moscow Metro Stations

By Claudia Looi 2 Comments

Komsomolskaya metro station

Komsomolskaya metro station looks like a museum. It has vaulted ceilings and baroque decor.

Hidden underground, in the heart of Moscow, are historical and architectural treasures of Russia. These are Soviet-era creations – the metro stations of Moscow.

Our guide Maria introduced these elaborate metro stations as “the palaces for the people.” Built between 1937 and 1955, each station holds its own history and stories. Stalin had the idea of building beautiful underground spaces that the masses could enjoy. They would look like museums, art centers, concert halls, palaces and churches. Each would have a different theme. None would be alike.

The two-hour private tour was with a former Intourist tour guide named Maria. Maria lived in Moscow all her life and through the communist era of 60s to 90s. She has been a tour guide for more than 30 years. Being in her 60s, she moved rather quickly for her age. We traveled and crammed with Maria and other Muscovites on the metro to visit 10 different metro stations.

Moscow subways are very clean

Moscow subways are very clean

To Maria, every street, metro and building told a story. I couldn’t keep up with her stories. I don’t remember most of what she said because I was just thrilled being in Moscow.   Added to that, she spilled out so many Russian words and names, which to one who can’t read Cyrillic, sounded so foreign and could be easily forgotten.

The metro tour was the first part of our all day tour of Moscow with Maria. Here are the stations we visited:

1. Komsomolskaya Metro Station  is the most beautiful of them all. Painted yellow and decorated with chandeliers, gold leaves and semi precious stones, the station looks like a stately museum. And possibly decorated like a palace. I saw Komsomolskaya first, before the rest of the stations upon arrival in Moscow by train from St. Petersburg.

2. Revolution Square Metro Station (Ploshchad Revolyutsii) has marble arches and 72 bronze sculptures designed by Alexey Dushkin. The marble arches are flanked by the bronze sculptures. If you look closely you will see passersby touching the bronze dog's nose. Legend has it that good luck comes to those who touch the dog's nose.

Bob Dylan and Willie Nelson Unite for Epic ‘Outlaw’ Summer Tour

By Andy Greene

Andy Greene

Willie Nelson is hitting the road this summer on his annual Outlaw Music Festival Tour, and Bob Dylan is joining for all 26 shows. They’ll be accompanied on the first leg by Robert Plant & Alison Krauss, and John Mellencamp on the second. Billy Strings, Brittney Spencer, Celisse, and Southern Avenue will also be playing with them at various stops along the way. It kicks off June 21 in Alpharetta, Georgia.

“This year’s Outlaw Music Festival Tour promises to be the biggest and best yet with this lineup of legendary artists,” Nelson said in a statement. “I am thrilled to get back on the road again with my family and friends playing the music we love for the fans we love.”

Dylan joined up with the Outlaw Festival for a couple of shows in 2017, but this is the first time he’s participated in the entire tour. His friendship with Nelson, however, goes back several decades. They co-wrote the song “Heartland” together in 1993.

In the summer of 2004, Nelson and Dylan played minor league baseball parks together all across America. In 2009, they brought John Mellencamp along for the ride when they repeated the concept. Dylan rarely shares the stage with other performers, but he frequently brought Nelson in 2004 for duets on “I Shall Be Released,” “Heartland,” and “Milk Cow Blues.” They first played together in 1976 when Nelson came out during a Rolling Thunder Revue stop in Houston for “Gotta Travel On.”

James and Wilco’s Jeff Tweedy did have the chance to play with Dylan a few times though. They were brought out near the end of his set for the traditional folk song “Twelve Gates to the City,” and the Band’s “The Weight.” “His bass player, Tony [Garnier], did all the communicating with us as far as who was going to sing what verse,” James said. “They’d change keys literally a minute before we went on, like, ‘Bob wants to do it in E flat.’ It was really cool, and something I’ll be able to tell the grandkids about.”

If we’re lucky this summer, we might get to see Dylan, Nelson, Robert Plant, and Alison Krauss team up for a few songs. Plant played “Girl From the North Country” at many shows in the early 2000s. This could be his chance to perform it with the guy that wrote it.

Iconic rock band closes popular Las Vegas Strip residency

L as Vegas Strip headliners often extend their residencies for weeks, months and sometimes years before they conclude their engagements.

Katy Perry, one of Resorts World Las Vegas' original headliners, opened her long-running "Play" residency Dec. 29, 2021 and closed the engagement Nov. 4, 2023 after 80 shows. Legendary rock star Rod Stewart, who began playing the Colosseum at Caesars in 2011, will end his residency after 200 shows on Aug. 7, 2024.

Superstar rock band U2 opened the spectacular Las Vegas Sphere on Sept. 29, 2023, for its U2/UV Achtung Baby Live at the Sphere residency with such great interest and excitement that the first show was attended by music greats Paul McCartney, Jon Bon Jovi, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg and Katy Perry.

U2 originally planned a 25-show residency, which it later expanded to 36 shows and was scheduled to conclude on Feb. 18. The band kept selling out shows and decided to extend the residency, adding four final shows on the residency for an even 40 dates.

Demand for tickets to see U2 at Sphere Entertainment's  ( SPHR )  Sphere has been high, as the shows sold out quickly in presales or shortly afterward on Ticketmaster.com. Those who were unable to secure tickets from Ticketmaster had to turn to secondary market ticket sellers and much higher prices than the original seller.

U2 ends its residency at the Sphere

After five months of performing shows on its U2/UV Achtung Baby Live at the Sphere residency on the Las Vegas Strip, legendary rock band U2 is closing down its 40-show run with its two final performances on March 1-2.

The lowest price for one of the few remaining verified resale tickets on Ticketmaster's website on Feb. 27 was about $1,073 for the March 1 show and $1,001 for the lowest priced ticket for the March 2 show. Otherwise, buyers can try their luck with a number of ticket brokers selling on the secondary market.

After U2 concludes its residency at the Sphere, popular jam band Phish will follow with four shows April 18, 19, 20 and 21. The band's website said that these would be the band's only shows at the Sphere in 2024.

Tickets for the first three shows are sold out on Ticketmaster, but a few dozen tickets remain for the final Phish show on April 21 in the Charity Platinum level for about $764.

Grateful Dead spinoff band Dead & Company completed their Final Tour at Oracle Park in San Francisco on July 16, 2023. The band, which consists of original Grateful Dead members Bob Weir, Mickey Hart and Bill Kreutzmann, along with John Mayer, Otiel Burbridge and Jeff Chimenti, is the most recent spinoff from the band.

Tickets still available for Dead & Company

Dead & Company is not finished performing, however, as it will take the stage for its Dead Forever – Live at Sphere residency in Vegas consisting of 18 shows over six weeks from May 16 through June 22, according to the Sphere's website.

Tickets for most of the Dead & Company shows are almost all sold out, though hundreds of the least expensive remaining tickets were available on Feb. 27 for each show on the holiday weekend July 4-6 and on July 11 priced at about $275 each at Ticketmaster.
