Beach-Riviera Line:  (Interchange: A2 - Acropolis / PLAKA) 9:35am - 5:35pm, every 60 minutes.

Timings and stops are subject to change.

Choose any of the 4 different routes and enjoy interesting pre-recorded commentary in English as you drive past the city’s stunning monuments and neighborhoods. The most important stops are Syntagma Square, Acropolis, Parthenon, Temple of Olympian Zeus, Panathenaic Stadium, National Archaeological Museum of Athens, Omonia Square, Marina of Mikrolimano and the Cruise Port.

• Orange line: Take this line to discover the Acropolis, the Parthenon, and the city’s main attractions. Moreover, the bus also stops at Hadrian’s Gate, the Thissio neighborhood, and the National Library.
• Blue line – Piraeus: The blue line connects the Cruise Port with the city center. Some of its most interesting stops are: Pasalimani, Turcolimani, and the new Acropolis Museum.
• Yellow line: Explore the historic center and the new city on this route, including Flisvos Marina, Aghios Kosmas beaches, or the alternative neighborhoods of Athens.
• Green line: Take this line to visit Vouliagmeni , an area full of pretty beaches.

How it works

Your ticket is valid for 48 consecutive hours from the first time you use it, meaning that if you get on a sightseeing bus for the first time on a Monday at 3 pm, your ticket will be valid until Wednesday at 3 pm.

During these 48 hours, you can hop on and off as many times as you wish at any of its stops to visit the city’s top sights, including Syntagma Square, the Acropolis, or the Panathenaic Stadium.

Schedule & Frequency

The Athens Hop-On Hop-Off Bus, operates during the following hours:

From April to October:

• Orange Line : 8:30 am to 6 pm, running every 15 minutes.
• Blue Line – Piraeus : 8:30 am to 5 pm, running every 75 minutes. 
• Yellow and Green Lines : 8:30 am to 6 pm, running every 75 minutes.

From November to March:

• Orange Line : 8:30 am to 5 pm, running every 20 minutes.
• Blue Line – Piraeus : 8:30 am to 5 pm, running every 75 minutes. During cruise arrivals, running every 30 minutes.
• Yellow and Green Lines : 8:30 am to 5 pm, running every 90 minutes.

City Sightseeing buses will be waiting for cruise guests outside of the Cruise Terminals once guests have passed through the customs building. Cruise ships arriving into Terminal 1;  guests will exit through the passenger’s terminal turn to left and walk approx. 80 meters to the City Sightseeing Buses. Cruise ships arriving into Terminal 2;  guests will exit through the passenger’s terminal turn to left and walk approx. 50 meters to the City Sightseeing Buses. Passengers boarding at the Piraeus Cruise Terminal will be on the Piraeus Line.

Good to know

• Summer departure times: Daily: 8.45 am – 5.15 pm approximately every 30 minutes (bus route through Athens). The buses on the Piraeus and Riviera lines depart from the Acropolis at 9.55 am, 12.25 pm and 2.55 pm. You can find the exact times and stops here  or on the website athensopentour.com 
• Winter departure times: The times for the hop-on hop-off buses change in winter. The tour departs every day from the bus stop 1 Syntagma Square at 8.45 am. The last bus leaves here at 4.15 pm. For more information, see the full timetable . 
• The staff are available daily from 8.45 am to 5.15 pm at Syntagma Square in front of the post office on Mitropoleos Street. You can recognise the staff by their uniform: yellow T-shirt or jacket with the "Athens Open Tour" logo on the back and a yellow tie or scarf. 
• Please note: Routes may change slightly from time to time and may also be adapted at short notice to current events. 
• Cruise ship guests benefit from special departure times
