The timing of the tour always depends on many factors and is at the discretion of your driver/tour guide on location who will take into consideration the speed of the group, the traffic conditions around the island, the potential road closures, weather warnings from the state and many other factors. But generally speaking, the photo stops will take about 10-15 minutes , other stops are 20-25 minutes , the lunch is usually about 40-45 minutes at Fumi’s  and the Waimea Arboretum/ Waterfall walk/visit is about two hours .  We have marked all the actual STOPS for you with red color .

Join us on this exciting journey of discovery that will satisfy your senses and provide exceptional photo opportunities.

Begin your day driving through the Amelia Earhart Point on the ocean-facing outer slopes of Diamond Head Crater, Hawaii’s icon and most recognizable landmark, where you can marvel at the 100,000 year-old volcanic peak perched above the Pacific.

Traveling along Oahu’s spectacular southeast coastline we arrive at the famous Halona Blowhole  and   “ From Here to Eternity ” beach where Green Sea Turtles can often be spotted in the emerald-green waters of the cove made famous by the only Oscar-winning movie made in Hawaii.

We continue to visit Sandy Beach , a beautiful sandy-bottom beach that looks peaceful and serene but is known for its notoriously powerful shore-breaks, pounding waves and body-surfing opportunities.

Driving by  Makapu’u Lookout you will see the island’s most recent lava flows and enjoy incredible panoramic views of offshore islands, turquoise and azure ocean water and breathtaking lava cliffs above.

We continue to the world-renowned  Pali Lookout , that Mark Twain called the most beautiful views on the planet.

Driving north we arrive at the Valley of the Temples and visit the colorful  Byodo-in temple , a photographer’s dream.  This Hawaii State Landmark is home to wild peacocks and hundreds of koi carp with a large reflecting pond and meditation niches.

Continuing on the relaxing windward coast we also visit scenic  Chinaman’s Hat , a picturesque islet located in the warm, tropical waters of Kaneohe Bay.

Continuing north to Kahuku ,  home of the North Shore’ famous shrimp farm s  you will observe  endangered wetland birds, including Black-neck stilts, Hawaiian coots and Moorhens.  Stopping at one of the locals’ favorite shrimp trucks, try some delicious locally-farmed  garlic shrimp, fish or a chicken plate and refreshing drinks . You will be served your choice of nine different sautéed shrimp plates, fresh lemon and steaming rice while your nature guide provides information about Hawaii’s aquaculture efforts.   (*Chicken Katsu and Veggie Chow Mein options are also available!)

Next you can marvel at the world-famous Sunset Beach as we drive by this legendary big-wave surfing location where towering, giant waves arrive between November-April.

Then we visit Waimea Valley Arboretum and Waterfall . This enchanting and relaxing location showcases over 5,000 species of tropical flowering plants, ancient archaeological sites , and one of the most scenic waterfalls on the island.

Our last stop is the historic  Dole Plantation where you will find many varieties of pineapple species from all over the world. Here, you can buy a souvenir to take home and share with your family and friends and always remember your exciting adventure around the Island of Oahu and Waimea Waterfall.

These pickup locations were carefully selected to make sure you never have to walk too far from your own hotel. You can select from the following eight CENTRALLY LOCATED AND CONVENIENT MEETING POINTS in Waikiki:

Tour Instructions

Pickup time: Please note that the pickups commence before the actual departure time from Waikiki so the exact pickup time for your particular meeting point will be clearly marked in your confirmation email. Please make sure you arrive to your meeting point on time and be ready to board your vehicle at the stated pick-up time but allow 2-3 minutes for our driver to arrive due to occasional traffic delays outside of our control. Please standby during this short window period if necessary and do not leave your assigned pickup location. Please keep your cellphone on during the pickup process so we can assist you connecting with your driver if needed. Additional Instructions for the Ultimate Circle Island Adventure with Waimea Waterfall: – *Age limit is minimum  3 years old  for this tour! – Please bring a  rain poncho  or rain gear, in case of precipitation. – Please remember to bring  bottled water – Please remember to have breakfast before your tour as eating and  food items are not allowed  on the buses when boarding and/or during the tour. – Wear comfortable walking shoes , you’ll walk 1.5 miles round-trip on a paved path in the arboretum. – Due to the length of this circle island tour please make sure you allow for a  comfortable return time  to Waikiki. – Drop-off in Waikiki is also included. You will be dropped off at the same location where we picked you up. – *Drop-offs might be a half an hour later than scheduled, due to traffic delays or other unforeseeable circumstances.

Age limit:  Children must be at least 3  years old and require their own reserved seat on the bus. All persons between 3 and 18 years old must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian over age 21.

Our vehicle’s description: Look for a vehicle with our name (“Oahu Nature Tours”) displayed on the digital display on its windshield. **Currently, because of the constantly changing covid recommendations for tour vehicles in Hawaii, tour vehicle size and capacity can vary, including full-size, panorama touring buses, but always in accordance and compliance with the latest Government regulations and laws for tour vehicles on the island of O’ahu.

Waimea Valley: This tour has a walking portion in the arboretum so it is not suitable for guests with walking difficulties. *Oahu Nature Tours strongly advises against swimming in the waterfalls due to leptospirosis bacteria present in Hawaii’s freshwaters.

Cancellation Policy: For parties of 1-6 guests : a  minimum of 24 hour  notice is required prior to departure time for changing, rescheduling or cancelling your activity. Tours cancelled or rescheduled within the last 24 hours are non-refundable. For parties of 7 or more guests : a  minimum of seven days notice is required prior to departure time for changing, rescheduling or cancelling your activity. Tours cancelled or rescheduled within seven days prior to your departure time are non-refundable.

Because our guests sometimes experience travel emergencies and sickness, please consider buying travel insurance before your trip that covers airfare, hotels and activities. In the event you might have to cancel a tour with us that is inside of our no-refund period, you could still seek reimbursement from your travel insurance policy.

We were offered walking sticks and water before we started our hike. The guide was very knowledgeable about all things such as the flora and fauna and history of Diamond Head. Unfortunately I do not remember her name but she was very patient, taking multiple stops to let others catch up or just to rest. This hike was relatively easy but definitely not recommended for those that get easily winded. The views at the top were amazing! A whole 360* view of Waikiki! If you do walk in, $1.00 per person. The fist part of the hike is all concrete and a wide path once that ends you will be walking on uneven ground that is wet is very slippery. The trail is usually packed and so you will need to be patient as you will typically only be able to walk as fast as the people in front of you. There a quite a few stairs to the top and once you get to the top the views are outstanding of Waikiki and the surrounding area. Well worth the time plan on spending at least 2 hours round trip. We got a ton of great information on the island, the flora and the wildlife and funny to boot. Recommendations for the wet season is to bring boots that you don't mind getting messy and some shoes to change into after and probably some clothes to change into if you slip. The day begins heading to the windward side of the island with a stop at the Halona Blowhole. Witness the power of the ocean as waves crash against the rocky coastline and water blasts upward through lava tubes. On clear days it is possible to see the neighboring islands of Molokai, Lanai, and Maui.

Take in incredible views of the surrounding mountains and oceans while learning about the history and cultural significance of this site. You will stand where ancient Hawaiian forces fought against opposing armies, and now it is one of the most beautiful scenic locations on Oahu.

Billy was fantastic would love to have Billy as a tour guide on every time

We loved this tour! We saw SO MUCH all in one day! The morning view at the Blowhole is worth getting up early! We were treated to an extra exciting Honu (turtle) sighting! The North Shore area is still a beautiful ge ... m on the island, quintessential Hawaii. The Temple and Waimea Falls were welcome peaceful hideaways, away from the Honolulu city vibe. The surrounding mountains are majestic! We learned quite a lot about Hawaiian history and culture. We tasted SO MANY Hawaiian delicious delights- Leonard’s masadas, North Shore shrimp, macadamia nuts, fresh farm fruits, Matsuto’s shave ice, Dole Whip! My mouth is watering, Hawaii weather is perfect! Sure there is a little rain, but the rainbows afterwards are so beautiful! The bus is comfortable. We didn’t have to deal with driving or finding parking. Our tour guide was an excellent driver! Our tour guide also shared some beautiful personal stories of his life and family in Hawaii. My girls were especially touched by his pineapple farming memories.

Ultimate Circle Island Adventure with Waimea Waterfall

This ultimate Oahu circle island tour takes you around the entire island and includes stops at the beautiful Byodo-In Temple, the Pali Lookout, the botanical garden at Waimea Valley, the Dole Plantation and more! From Waikiki heading east, the first stop is at Amelia Earhart Point on the foothills of Diamond Head, a great lookout point. Traveling along Oahu's southeastern shore, we arrive at the Halona Blowhole and the "From Here to Eternity" beach, made famous by the only Oscar-winning movie made in Hawaii. Continuing on, we'll drive by Sandy Beach and Makapu'u Lookout, where you will see the island's most recent lava flows and enjoy incredible panoramic views of offshore islands, turquoise and azure ocean water and breathtaking sea cliffs above. Next up is the popular Pali Lookout, which Mark Twain called one of the most beautiful views on the planet. Driving north, we'll visit the picturesque Byodo-In Temple, located at the Valley of the Temples. This Hawaii state landmark is home to wild peacocks and a large reflecting pond with koi fish. We'll then head north along the windward coast and drive by Chinaman's Hat Island. In Kahuku, we'll stop at one of the locals’ favorite shrimp trucks, where you can try some delicious locally farmed garlic shrimp, fish or a chicken plate and refreshing drinks. You will be served your choice of nine different sautéed shrimp plates, fresh lemon and steaming rice while your nature guide provides information about Hawaii's aquaculture efforts. After lunch, we'll continue driving along Oahu's famed North Shore, home to several big-wave surfing beaches, including Sunset Beach and Waimea Bay. Oahu is known for being a sightseeing paradise, full of spectacular lookout points, incredible white sandy beaches, colorful culture, outstanding surf and unique wildlife. Our local guide will spend the day with you on our semi-private shuttle escorting you and your family to some of Oahu’s Hidden Gems on our Oahu circle island tour.

The first lookout we visit is an elevated view perched on the eastern side of Waikiki’s famous Diamond Head Volcano. This lookout grants us a great opportunity for pictures of the south eastern coastline of Oahu, with notable sights as far as Hanauma bay and Maui on a clear day. The location is more formally known as Amelia Earhart Lookout, known for where bystanders gathered to watch Earhart make her first solo aviation journey from Hawaii to North America.

Stop At: Halona Blowhole, Kalanian’ole Highway, Oahu, HI 96825

Halona Blowhole Molten lava tubes from volcanic eruptions that occurred from Oahu’s Koko Head crater formed the natural occurrence known as the Halona Blowhole. This lava tube extends into the ocean with a very narrow opening at the top, and when the surf is just right, water pressure builds up within the lava tube and erupts through the narrow opening creating a special Hawaiian Geyser for your viewing pleasure.

Makapu’u Point Witness Waimanalo’s dramatic sea cliffs as we turn into Oahu’s windward side as we begin our journey to the North Shore of Oahu. Look off into the azure blue waters of the bay and you will see Oahu’s famous Manana Island also known as Rabbit island due to its Rabbit like shape.

Hawaiian Coffee and Macadamia Nut Tastings After a beautiful drive along Oahu’s eastern coastline, our next stop is a local shop that finds itself tucked away under aged Banyan Trees with macadamia nut and delicious Kona coffee tastings, along with very tempting Hawaiian chocolates amongst other treats.

Nestled along the majestic cliffs of the Ko’olau Mountains on Oahu, the Pali Lookout presents travelers with awe-inspiring vistas of the island’s windward coast. Steeped in historical significance, this site marks the battleground where King Kamehameha I triumphed in his quest to unify the Hawaiian Islands. Embraced by sweeping winds and lush landscapes, the lookout offers a captivating blend of natural beauty and cultural heritage, making it an essential stop for any visitor to Oahu.

A change of pace from the crowded beaches of Waikiki, The infamous Sunset Beach on the North Shore offers tranquility and is the epitome of a beautiful Hawaiian Beach. However don’t lets the summer months fool you, during the winter months, swells of 30 to 40 feet can be seen from the safe confines of shore.

We stop at a North Shore Fruit stand where you can gorge on local fruits such as mangos, dragonfruit, pineapple or quench your thirst on a fresh coconut.

Stop At: Waimea Botanical Gardens, Oahu, 59-864 Kamehameha Hwy, Haleiwa, Oahu, HI 96712-8411

The exceptional botanical collections at Waimea Valley feature dozens of distinct gardens representing flora from different parts of the world. Examples include the Ogasawara Islands, Central and South America, Fiji, Guam, and the Mascarene Islands. Stroll through the Hawaiian collection and enjoy an assortment of plants found only in Hawai’i, many of which are rare and endangered. Many were brought here as seed or cutting from the places where they evolved. Waimea Waterfall is also a splendid highlight of the park. Guests can swim in the waterfall if they want. Lifeguards are on duty. Admission included in the cost of the ticket. Swimming is allowed at the waterfall. Please bring a bathing suit and towel if you wish to swim. Lifejackets are provided and lifeguards are on duty at all times. Guest should be advised it is a 1.5 mile roundtrip walk to and from the waterfall. There is a $10 tram but that is not included into the cost of the tour.

Traveling along Oahu’s spectacular southeast coastline we arrive at the famous Halona Blowhole and the “From Here to Eternity” beach, made famous by the only Oscar-winning movie made in Hawaii. We continue to visit Sandy Beach, known for its notoriously powerful shorebreaks, pounding waves and bodysurfing opportunities. Driving by Makapu'u Lookout you will see the island's most recent lava flows and enjoy incredible panoramic views of offshore islands, turquoise and azure ocean water and breathtaking lava cliffs above. We continue to the world-renowned Pali Lookout that Mark Twain called the most beautiful views on the planet. Driving north we arrive at the Valley of the Temples and visit the colorful Byodo-in temple, a photographer's dream. This Hawaii state landmark is home to wild peacocks and a large reflecting pond with koi fish. Continuing on the relaxing windward coast we also visit scenic Chinaman’s Hat, a picturesque islet located in the warm, tropical waters of Kaneohe Bay. Further up north we’ll reach Kahuku, home of the North Shore famous shrimp farms. Here you can also observe endangered wetland birds, including Black-neck stilts, Hawaiian coots and Moorhens. (Or IF you are not staying in a hotel, then please provide a street address for your accommodation.) If you don't know your hotel yet, no problem, we will just assign the default Ala Moana hotel pickup for you and you can change it anytime up to 24 hours before the tour departure time. You will get a written confirmation from us including your pickup time and your exact pickup location with maps and photographs of the meeting area. Please look for this message from us in your booking agent's message board and/or in your personal email box to see your detailed pickup instructions. We leave the Waikiki area by 7:45 AM but hotel pick-ups start as early as 7:00 AM depending on your pick up location. *PLEASE CHECK your email box for confirmation details regarding your actual pick up time! Tour ends at 5:45 PM . Drop offs then begin and might go until 6:30 PM depending on your drop off location. *We only pickup from select Waikiki hotels. We do not pickup from hotels located on the west or north side of the island (like KoOlina, Disney, Aulani, Four Seasons, Turtle Bay).

Almost a 10 hour coach bus ride around Ohau, taking in many sights and excellent narratives from Paul. We were offered walking sticks and water before we started our hike. The guide was very knowledgeable about all things such as the flora and fauna and history of Diamond Head. Unfortunately I do not remember her name but she was very patient, taking multiple stops to let others catch up or just to rest. This hike was relatively easy but definitely not recommended for those that get easily winded. The views at the top were amazing! A whole 360* view of Waikiki! • kkbsll 0 contributions 5.0 of 5 bubbles Diamondhead Walk Parking is very limited at the entrance to the walk you are far better to park outside and just walk in you will spend less time waiting. If you do walk in, $1.00 per person. The fist part of the hike is all concrete and a wide path once that ends you will be walking on uneven ground that is wet is very slippery. The trail is usually packed and so you will need to be patient as you will typically only be able to walk as fast as the people in front of you. There a quite a few stairs to the top and once you get to the top the views are outstanding of Waikiki and the surrounding area. Well worth the time plan on spending at least 2 hours round trip. We got a ton of great information on the island, the flora and the wildlife and funny to boot. Recommendations for the wet season is to bring boots that you don't mind getting messy and some shoes to change into after and probably some clothes to change into if you slip.
