The UK division of Global Travel Collection (GTC UK) has recruited two managers to lead its newly created ‘advisor success’ team.

Perry Critchell has joined from Wexas Travel, while Colin Geddes joined from Corporate Travel Management.

They report to Francesca Mendola, account management director, and will provide business support for GTC UK’s 100-plus independent travel advisors across the corporate, leisure and entertainment travel sectors.

The new team aims to “optimise” the partnership between GTC UK and its independent travel advisors, by offering strategic business consultations.

Mendola said: “The introduction of the advisor success team demonstrates our constant innovation and recognition of our partnership with our independent travel advisors, whom we value as our clients.

“GTC UK provides an established platform for the progressive independent travel Advisor who wishes to trade as their own entrepreneurial business owner.

“There are many aspects to maintaining and growing a travel business, especially post-pandemic.

“The advisor success team is dedicated to guiding and supporting our advisors every step of the way, whilst maintaining complete confidence and integrity.”

As well as its network of advisors, GTC UK – part of Internova Travel Group – includes luxury brands such as Colletts Travel, Protravel International, Tzell Travel Group and Scotia Travel.

GTC UK expands senior roles

Global Travel Collection UK (GTC UK) has expanded its senior leadership roles.

Jason Oshiokpekhai will take on the role of Senior Vice President, Advisor Success in the UK and US, in addition to his current position as Managing Director for GTC UK, while Francesca Mendola will assume the role of Vice President, GTC UK.

Oshiokpekhai joined the company in 2016, with over 18 years of experience in the travel industry. He oversaw the transition of Travel Leaders UK to Global Travel Collection UK. 

In his new capacity, Oshiokpekhai will be responsible for overseeing the recently launched Advisor Success Organisation (ASO), which provides support to GTC’s advisors. His focus will be in driving growth, business consultation, expanding corporate sales, increasing advisor revenue, and implementing tools and resources to help advisors diversify their independent businesses.

Mendola will continue to oversee Corporate Account Management, Advisor Success, Business Development, Advisor Recruitment, Supplier Relations, and PR & Marketing teams in the UK. Her role will include supporting business growth and retention for GTC UK Advisors across entertainment, leisure and corporate travel markets as well as managing the day-to-day business.

Global travel collection announces uk tour to meet new agents.

Global Travel Collection UK is embarking on a five-city tour to engage with new travel advisors.

Agents are being invited to make appointments to find out how they can work with Global Travel Collection UK (GTC UK).

GTC UK already has a network of more than 100 independent advisors across the UK, and the team will be visiting five cities to speak with corporate, entertainment and leisure agents. 

Agents can arrange private appointments to hear about the benefits of joining the business, along with the services the TMC can offer. They will have the opportunity to meet with advisor success managers who recently joined the company to bolster business support for independent advisors . 

On the tour will be (pictured above, clockwise from top left) advisor success managers Colin Geddes and Perry Critchell; senior manager revenue development Andy Hampshaw; and director of account management Francesca Mendola.

Appointments will take place in the following cities: 

• Manchester, Tuesday 20 June, at Dakota
• London, Tuesday 27 June and Wednesday 28 June, at Hotel Amano 
• Brighton, Thursday 29 June, at the Brighton Harbour Hotel & Spa
• Edinburgh, Thursday 4 July, at the Waldorf Astoria
• Bristol, Thursday 6 July, at a venue to be confirmed 

Mendola said: “We are excited to have our team out on the road meeting with new faces. We hope to meet with the best-in-class travel advisors who are either well-established and looking for a home with robust support, or those who are thinking of making the move from employee to business owner.”

She continued: “Having these types of conversations can be overwhelming and life-changing, which is why it is important for our team to be out on the road to meet with advisors in person, rather than just connecting online. We have significantly invested in our people, systems and technology. During these appointments, our teams will be able to demonstrate how we can best support advisors in their journey and nurture an entrepreneurial mindset.”
