Celebrity Cruises Makes Air Travel A Breeze With New, Significantly Improved "Celebrity's Choiceair"

Modern luxury brand Celebrity Cruises knows that today’s high-end consumers desire simplicity, choice and value when planning a vacation. Celebrity is taking its modern luxury vacation experience to new heights today as it debuts a newly enhanced air travel service, “Celebrity’s ChoiceAir.” The launch of Celebrity’s ChoiceAir introduces the cruise industry’s first lowest-airfare guarantee, which complements the other premium benefits of the program:  “Assured Arrival,” “Your Choice Flights” and “24/7 Support.”   Celebrity’s ChoiceAir’s “Lowest Airfare Guarantee” not only delivers the best value in air travel by finding guests the lowest fares on available flights, but also guarantees that if Celebrity doesn’t find the lowest fare, the guest will be compensated. First, the program offers the lowest available airfares. Then, should a guest find a lower, publicly available fare for the exact same travel within 24 hours of booking through Celebrity’s ChoiceAir, they’ll receive a credit of 110% of the difference, to spend during their cruise. This benefit reassures guests that Celebrity wants them to make the most of their precious vacation time, even before the actual cruise starts.   “Our brand is built on the concept of modern luxury, so it makes sense that we would extend that to our guests’ airline arrangements,” said Dondra Ritzenthaler, Senior Vice President, Sales, Celebrity Cruises. “Celebrity’s ChoiceAir offers guests everything they want in an air travel service.”   In addition to Lowest Airfare Guarantee , Celebrity’s ChoiceAir core program elements support a premium travel experience that also offers peace of mind:

  • Assured Arrival means that any delays or cancellations to air travel booked through Celebrity’s ChoiceAir will not keep a guest from getting to their cruise. Celebrity’s ChoiceAir team monitors guests’ flights and, in case of an unexpected travel snag, works quickly with the airline to get the guest on the next available flight to the ship, even providing hotel stays and ground transfers at no additional cost when necessary – resulting in greater peace of mind for vacationers.
  • Your Choice Flights allows guests the freedom and flexibility to choose their favorite airline and the best flights, while at the same time automatically filtering out flights that won’t work for the guest’s scheduled cruise, saving them time.
  • 24/7 Support ensures that any day, any time, Celebrity’s ChoiceAir agents are available to assist guests; this benefit aligns with the highly attentive onboard service Celebrity is known for. In addition to these benefits, with Celebrity’s ChoiceAir, guests pay no air travel booking service fees.

Air Reservations

If you plan to fly to your embarkation port, you must decide whether to arrange airline tickets on your own or use the AIR/SEA program offered by the cruise line. Here are the main considerations to help you with your decision.

Advantages of Arranging Your Own Airline Tickets The main advantages of securing your own airline tickets are that you will be able to select the airline you fly and you will have control over the timing and routing of your flights. You may wish to fly a particular airline to use or earn frequent flyer miles, or because that carrier has nonstop service to your port city. If you arrange your own airline tickets you will have more control over these variables. If you utilize the cruise line's AIR/SEA program, you may be given an air schedule with an overnight flight, multiple connections or in some cases, a forced overnight stay at your expense. For these reasons, we recommend that you arrange your own airline tickets. Advantage of Using the AIR/SEA Program The main reason to book flights through the cruise line is the added protection you receive with your purchase. Unexpected events can affect travel plans. Flight delays or cancellations, changes in cruise ship arrival or departure times and cancellation of sailings altogether can force you to rebook for a later time or date or seek a refund for your air tickets. If you secure your air tickets through the cruise line, some lines will assist you in working with the airline to make alternate flight plans or apply for a refund.

How to Use Flights by Celebrity

The Flights by Celebrity program allows you to book your airline travel through Celebrity. Prices are typically similar to what you will find booking directly with the airline, with the added benefit of 24/7 support in the event of a delay or cancelation to help you get to the next possible port should you miss the ship.

To use this service, first log in to your Celebrity Account. (If you do not have your account set up, we have instructions on our How to Set Up Your Celebrity Account page.)

celebrity cruises air reservations

After you sign in, click on your name, and select “Manage Reservation.”

celebrity cruises air reservations

On the booking page, scroll down until you see the Flights by Celebrity section.

celebrity cruises air reservations

Fill in your departure airport. The departure date will default to the date the cruise departs, and the return date will default to the day the cruise returns. In either field, you can select a different date if you are extending your stay in the departure city. Then, click “Add Guests.”

On the next screen you will see the names of all guests on your reservation.

celebrity cruises air reservations

Select the guests for whom you are making a reservation. All selected guests will be booked on the same flights. If you need separate flights, do not select all guests at once. To book for guests not in your cabin, you can click on “Add more guests.” You must have their last name and reservation number to add them.

The next screen shows flight options for your departing flight.

celebrity cruises air reservations

The rest of the process functions similarly to any other flight booking site. Click on “Flight & Baggage Details” to see information about things like baggage fees and seat selection. Select your departing flight. On the next screen, select your return flight and make your payment. Continue through the steps to add the details for each person on your reservation. Keep in mind that this is exactly like making a reservation on an airline site. You must ensure that the booking matches the traveler’s government ID. You will have the opportunity to add things like a known traveler number and/or airline loyalty number if applicable.

Important Note

Some flights have a “Risk-free” designation. On these flights, you can change or cancel without penalty until a given date. It is important to note that these flights will also give you the option to pay later. This means that you are not charged at the time of your booking. Your payment is not due until Celebrity’s final cruise payment date, which is different from the date your final payment is due to Stitchers’ Escapes. If you select this option, you are responsible for remembering to return to your account and make your payment. Do not rely on a reminder from Celebrity.

If you fail to make your payment, Stitchers’ Escapes will be charged for your flight. In the event that this happens, we will require that you reimburse us and will accept check payments only, since our credit card system incurs additional fees. There will be no exceptions to this policy.

Flights by Celebrity: What are the Advantages & Disadvantages?

Those of you who have used Flights by Celebrity... what are the advantages and disadvantages?  Thanks in advance! Some of the items about which I'm curious, if not covered in your advantages/disadvantages:

  • Did you experience significant savings?
  • Did Celebrity cause any issues?
  • If you had issues that were not due to something Celebrity did, were they able to help?
  • How does seat selection work, and do they handle various flight categories or do they just book coach?
  • How easy is it to change your flight schedule?
  • Will they handle flights that are outside the usual window connected to a particular cruise?  Example:  If one person in our party needs to fly home after our cruise tour, but the other will travel by train into California and then fly home a few weeks later.
  • Now that you've used Flights by Celebrity, would you do so again for future Celebrity cruises?

Some of the items about which I'm curious, if not covered in your advantages/disadvantages:   Did you experience significant savings?   Generally you get your best savings on International travel.   Usually Domestically I get the same rate   Did Celebrity cause any issues? None   If you had issues that were not due to something Celebrity did, were they able to help? How does seat selection work, and do they handle various flight categories or do they just book coach? You select Class of service 1st, Business or Coach.   Then you can get Refundable or Non-Refundable.   How easy is it to change your flight schedule? Depends on if ticket is refundable or non-refundable.   If the flight schedule change just all Choice air or the airline and they will work with you to select a flight that may work better.   Will they handle flights that are outside the usual window connected to a particular cruise?  Example:  If one person in our party needs to fly home after our cruise tour, but the other will travel by train into California and then fly home a few weeks later. I believe you can do it by calling in.   May not be possible booking yourself.   Now that you've used Flights by Celebrity, would you do so again for future Celebrity cruises? Yes

One of the best parts currently is that many of the flights are refundable and you don't have to pay until final payment date.

Also during the cancellation.   I booked one through airline and one throught Celebrity because we were arriving late and thought their guarantee to get to the ship would be helpful.    When Celebrity shut down I just arrived in Florida.   Even though I used the flight Celebrity refunded my 1st class fare but since I booked my own return I didn't get that one refunded.

When the second of my B2B cruises was canceled in Australia, New Zealand connections were canceled even in the checkin line, it sure made it easier and less costly to get home.  Flight bookings were a complete mess but Celebrity got us home.

In the UK, if you book cruise+ Air , it becomes a package holiday. This then includes transport to the ship and from the ship to the airport at the end of the cruise. If the return flight leaves late, a day hotel is also included.

Because it is a package holiday, it is also ABTA & ATOL protected, which would be very useful at the moment, due to the cruise cancellations.

Thanks

Your Celebrity Air is automatically protected under Celebrities "Cruise Care" travel insurance at no additional cost.

I’ve booked my own, used my TA’s ‘good deal’ and Celebrity Air. I found Celebrity Air to be pretty much equal to my TA deals and at times cheaper than what I found on my own.

I’ve found Celebrity Air to be handier for European flights. The only issue was I had three-legs flights on 2 itineraries. Called and got them changed once; the other time I had to stick with the 3-leggier. I usually fly from my small town to Atlanta and then across. Celebrity was accommodating on dates and if I wanted to go to or depart from another city than the Cruise had.

I was able to select my own seats and so on. And as mentioned, I didn’t pay until final payment was due for the cruise. That’s a biggie.

One very good thing with Celebrity (and my TA) was a one-way. Many websites and even Airline Websites don’t have very good deals or pricing for one-way. We’d fly over to Europe, do a TransAtlantic and then rent a car and drive home back to the Florida Panhandle. So a 1-way was very handy. Trying to get a good price on that on your own can be very tricky and Celebrity Air did just fine on that.

TFree

Our experience has been that we have called Celebrity Air to check fares, probably for 4 of our Celebrity cruises.  Twice Celebrity Air had nothing different to offer than what I could book myself, so I booked it myself.  (Obviously if there had been a cruise cancellation or something of the sort, we would have been better off with Celebrity Air.)  The other two times, Celebrity Air had a  far  better fare than was available to me by booking it myself (as I recall about 35-40% lower).  This was on international business class fares.  We have not done a one-way international fare, but my understanding is that Celebrity Air's contracts with the airlines permit them to get fares for that kind of trip that you would almost never find on your own.

I think whether they have anything special to offer on a round trip or open jaw trip probably depends on how early you book, and maybe on the popularity of the route.  And of course now that you don't have to pay until final payment date, there is no good reason not to check early on.

We have found the best prices on one-way fares to Europe in business class on Celebrity Air. We have been able to select seats in advance on all flights. We were able to get price reductions and no payment was due until final payment. We are very glad we have booked with Celebrity Air for our upcoming transatlantic in October. If we end up canceling that cruise before final payment we won't be out any money to the airline. So far we haven't had any issues with our flights.

So far, haven't heard any disadvantages, which is very encouraging!   Does that mean there are none, or just that no one who's had issues happens to be looking at the Celebrity forum these days?    😉

We always get trip insurance (of late, that's been through Allianz and it's been to cover all aspects of the trip), so we'd need to ponder as to whether that would be sufficient protection to book non-refundable flights and look over future insurance contracts carefully.  I'm thinking that there may be a number of changes to travel insurance contracts going forward.

I am sure others will have had much more experience with Celebrity Air than I have.  I am not aware of any downsides.  But three tips I picked up on these boards before the first time we used Celebrity Air were: (1) do your own research anyway, so that you know the prevailing fares, and ideally have your first and second choice routings handy.  This way, if Celebrity Air offers you something with a good fare but bad routing, you can at least ask them to check your preferred routings, too; (2) don't rely on their website -  always  call them when you are ready to book; and (3) sometimes it helps to ask them explicitly to check the fare as if it were two one way fares, rather than as a round trip or open jaw.  No idea why that makes a difference, but apparently it does (and it seemed as if that made a difference when I requested it in one case).

Two one ways can definitely make a difference through Celebrity.  We've done it for both NZ and South America and got Business Class for much less than the advertised prices.

Well, I kept quiet because most anwers come from the US. I have compared the Celebrity/Choice Air price with rates I manage to get here in Germany many times. So far, the Celebrity price was much higher - so much, that the advantages were not worth the difference. On our last cruise (NZ) it was almost double. However, let me tell you about recent experiences with two cruises first changed and than cancelled by Celebrity. The passengers who booked the flights with Celebrity had no problems at all. When the departure port was changed, Celebrity changed the flight. When the cruises were cancelled, Celebrity refunded the flights. Many people on the roll calls who booked flights independently were not so lucky and ended up with being at the mercy of the airline.  In our case it was different. Although we booked flights on our own, we were covered by German consumer protection laws when Celebrity cancelled.

Thank you all for your input.  You've provided some great tips.  I wouldn't have thought to ask them to check two one-ways.  Our travel plan for next year's cruisetour (assuming it actually happens) necessitates that anyhow, but that tip could prove very helpful for a cruise that starts/ends in the same place.

Another question. Can you book with points through celebrity air?

As mentioned the largest advantages are usually much cheaper airfare internationally & refundable which includes you can change or cancel your flight at no cost until final payment.  I will look online then call Choice Air to compare prices but I usually always see cheaper fares online than Choice Air quotes by phone.

I did find I had to check my flights occasionally because there were some changes made & Choice Air did not notify me.  Also, I wanted to pay for upgraded seats but I could not upgrade seats until flight was paid in full & booked after final payment.  I had to call Choice Air to allow me to book upgraded seats because there was a part of their process they had not completed.  If you are diligent this can pay off in some $$ saved.

23 hours ago, CHEZMARYLOU said: Another question. Can you book with points through celebrity air?

No you cannot.

Trying to get Choice Air flights in the UK does not seem as easy as elsewhere 😔 , plus each time I seem to be able to get a better deal by booking my own flights.  BA refunded my cancelled flight for my cancelled 21st April cruise with no problems.

27 minutes ago, aly7859 said: No you cannot.

That's too bad. Thanks

5 hours ago, CHEZMARYLOU said: That's too bad. Thanks

You cannot book with points, but you can earn points for the flights.

Once we use our accumulated points we will no longer be chasing points as we will never accumulate enough for another free flight.  Kind of like chasing CC points to make Zenith, never going to happen.

We're going to be first-time users this fall.  With the unknown of cruising this year, and the chance of it being cancelled, I figured I'd rather deal with one company on a cancellation than two.

When it comes to booking for day of departure flights, I would never do it any way except through Celebrity.  We had friends who were trying to get to Port Everglades when it was snowing at home.  Celebrity dealt with the flight cancellations, rebooked them from new York through Chicago and to Miami and got them to the ship on time.

1 hour ago, D C said: When it comes to booking for day of departure flights, I would never do it any way except through Celebrity.

You're much braver than we are.  We are much too risk averse and stress averse to fly in on the day of departure.  We even do a stayover the night before when cruising out of ports that are just a few hours drive from us!   ☺️

we booked our last cruise flights with Celebrity, and when we cancelled due to the virus, we got a full refund.

44 minutes ago, SunsetPoint said:   You're much braver than we are.  We are much too risk averse and stress averse to fly in on the day of departure.  We even do a stayover the night before when cruising out of ports that are just a few hours drive from us!   ☺️

Oh, we're NOT that brave!   Although more often than not, we'll stay in Orlando (cheaper and more plentiful hotels) and drive to port the morning of the cruise.

Have a cruise booked for next November.

Maybe it's a good time to try Celebrity Air for the first time.

A few questions:

# What's the difference between Choice Air website and Flights by Celebrity on Celebrity Cruises website.

These are two different websites for booking Celebrity flights.

Found 2 difference prices for the same flight ??

#If Celebrity cancels our cruise in November after final payment. Do we get full refund for flights ?

or do you have to pay $200 air penalty and processing fee (guess this is only when you cancel by yourself)

#Has someone used Best Prices Guaranteed when you find a lower fare on another website ?

Comfortable cruising

Just before COVID my husband & I booked three back to back cruises from Honolulu to Sydney, Melbourne and the Great Barrier Reef. It was the trip of a lifetime for us. Wonderful activities every day, lectures each day about the ports we were approaching and history of the South Pacific and we loved hearing about Captain Cook. Plenty of interaction with the passengers from Australia who were returning home from Hawaii after doing their holiday shopping. We learned so much by joining them at meals and hearing their recommendations for where we should visit and what we shouldn’t miss. Crossing the international dateline was a huge experience and the officers of the ship made the passengers a big dance party on one of the upper decks and fun was had by all. Except for kissing a dead fish, which a few of us did! We made some lovely connections which we still hear from via email. We’re booked again in March on Beyond with friends. Can’t stay away too long. Celebrity is our go-to cruise line for a perfect vacation!

Celebrity edge

I like the room with balcony and the bathroom is bigger than princess cruise. The room services staff was very nice. The dining room is set up nice and roomy and perfect view. The 14 floors buffer food is ok and not much change. Wish could have more variety food to select. Not much Asian food and few staffs seems tired and not much welcome or happy to serve food to guests. The main restaurant food is good, not much activities to celebrate in the dinning during holidays. I don’t feel the festive or holidays decorations in the dinning room. Not much going on for gift shops for the sale like princesses cruise for the fun of the shopping spirit. The lobbies areas are highlighted for the holidays, lots of music and entertaining and bars. Area for seating is plenty and the shows are great. The photo shop is much self service, the staff need little bits of cheering and enthusiastic of happy. I like the 15 floors for the exercise followed by the trails to walk or running. The gym room has good size and not humidity. I wish they could highlight some the activities program on the daily news paper and on TV or announce on over head speaker. I did not see much games or Chinese mah jong activities supplies in the social room or other areas for the guests to relax playing with there family. Over all I do enjoyed my trip and certainly with my families members gathering. But once comes with individual or solo, i was boring little bit.

the Celebrity App

I think this is one of the best ways to get all your information imputed, book shore excursions, book dining reservations and and purchase anything extra, and especially the how easy it's made the lifeboat drill!! I have been sailing with celebrity for 35 years and have sailed on 33 cruises exclusively with Celebrity and I remember since the Meridian and earlier ships how I dreaded the check in process and remember how time consuming it was which long lines with luggage in hand just to get to the area of the cruise port terminal to check in. I think the app is very easy to use and helpful and it has brought the cruising experience to the next level! I look forward to my 1st cruise day because I know we will me processed and on the ship within a half hour of getting to the cruise pier!! Thank you Celebrity and all your staff, MaryAnn & Scott Stulpin (Elite Plus Captains Club Members)

Celebrity Cruises food guide: A look at all the restaurants and dining options on board

Melinda Crow

It's amazing how Celebrity Cruises ' food has changed over the years!

My first Celebrity cruise was on Zenith, the line's second purpose-built ship. It carried fewer than 2,000 passengers. Breakfast and lunch were served in the ship's buffet area, and dinner was served at set times in the main dining room. That was it. There were no specialty restaurants.

Today, Celebrity Cruises ships are much larger — with the smallest being almost twice the gross tonnage Zenith had (91,000 gross tonnes versus 47,000 gross tonnes) — and have far more space devoted to food.

For cruise news, reviews and tips, sign up for TPG's cruise newsletter .

Choices on current Celebrity ships range from complimentary offerings that your cruise fare covers to higher-quality food that comes at an extra cost. With different venues on different ships, all those choices can get confusing. Which Celebrity restaurants will be on your next cruise?

Whether you've cruised with Celebrity recently or are new to the line, you need a food guide to keep up with what's available on which ship. Knowing which food choices each ship has might be a deciding factor in which ship you book.

You might be surprised to learn that food choices can play a big role in which cabin category you choose on Celebrity, as certain cabins and suites grant access to exclusive restaurants and complimentary room service or offer priority seating in specialty venues.

Our Celebrity food guide starts with a list of all the eateries, along with which ships they are found on. After that, you'll find some of the most-asked questions about Celebrity food. Note: Our guide does not cover the Galapagos expedition ships, but you can expect an indoor dining room and a multipurpose alfresco option on each of those ships.

celebrity cruises air reservations

Included for AquaClass guests, space-available basis for Retreat guests; breakfast and dinner

Guests who book an AquaClass spa cabin can access the exclusive restaurant, Blu, for breakfast and lunch. Breakfast is a delight, with fresh fruit smoothies included every day. The dinner menu changes daily, plus you can order from the main dining room menu if you'd prefer.

The cruise line's descriptions of Blu make it sound like it serves spa or healthy food. While there are healthy choices on the menu, I found the menu overall to be more akin to a main dining room's — but with higher-quality food.

For example, breakfast offerings include fresh fruit smoothies each day — nothing fancy with additives like greens or chia seeds similar to what you can purchase at the Spa Cafe, just tasty fruit in a glass. The atmosphere and service are more like a specialty restaurant. Social media posts are filled with cruisers who book AquaClass rooms specifically for the privilege of dining in Blu.

Brunch or Dinner on the Edge

Fixed price; brunch and dinner on select days

These two options are alfresco food experiences, rather than separate restaurants. They are scheduled events that take place on the Magic Carpet elevator positioned on the side of the ship. For these events, the Magic Carpet is stationed next to the pool deck (aka resort deck). The dinner menu includes seafood and chateaubriand.

Available on : Celebrity Apex , Ascent, Beyond and Edge

Cabana food

Included and a la carte; all-day dining

If you rent a deck cabana on the Edge Class ships or an Alcove on the Solstice Class ships, you will be presented with an exclusive food menu. The list includes fruit skewers, snacks and sandwiches.

Available on : Celebrity Apex, Ascent , Beyond, Eclipse, Edge, Equinox, Reflection, Silhouette and Solstice

Cafe al Bacio

celebrity cruises air reservations

Included and a la carte; snacks

Expect typical coffee shop fare, including pastries, cakes, tarts and cookies. A few of these are the same as you would find in the buffet at the Oceanview Cafe, but I found that most are exclusive to Cafe al Bacio. On a recent cruise, I enjoyed eclairs, sugar donuts and a slice of luscious red velvet cake. There are typically three or more cookie choices, while the ice cream area in Oceanview typically only has one.

The baked goods are complimentary; coffee and specialty teas are priced a la carte but are included in both the Classic and Premium beverage packages. A gelato counter is found next to or across from the coffee and snack counter. Unlike the ice cream counter in the buffet area, this gelato comes with an added charge. Captain's Club members receive a free scoop per cruise starting after you earn 2 cruise points or complete your first cruise.

Celebrity Edge Class and Solstice Class ships have a second Cafe al Bacio (called Il Segundo Bacio) located in the Oceanview Cafe buffet area. The menu of drinks (extra charge) matches what you'd find in the main Bacio location on board, which makes it a convenient spot to grab a specialty coffee or glass of wine to accompany your casual meal. Just don't expect the specialty snacks found at the main location; you can pick up snacks at the buffet instead.

Cosmopolitan Restaurant

Included and a la carte; breakfast, lunch on sea days and dinner

This is the point at which Celebrity food choices become confusing. In an effort to break away from the traditional main dining room experience, Celebrity Edge Class ships split the main dining room into four distinctly decorated restaurants, each with a menu that is made up of basics available in all four, plus selections that are exclusive to that restaurant. Guests are assigned to one of the four but may opt to dine at any of the other three at any time they choose.

Cosmopolitan, serving daily breakfast and lunch on sea days, is the one most closely resembling a standard main dining room. The dinner menu changes nightly but includes some items that are always available. There are also premium selections of filet mignon and broiled lobster tail that come with an added charge.

Available on : Celebrity Apex, Ascent, Beyond and Edge

Craft Social

A la carte; all-day dining

They had me at "Mac 'n' Brie." Craft Social is a bar, but it has a somewhat secret bar food menu. It's really only a secret if you don't typically go there to drink. Everyone who frequents the place knows about the good eats.

Cyprus Restaurant

celebrity cruises air reservations

Included and a la carte; dinner

Cyprus is one of the four main dining rooms on Edge Class ships. It features a basic menu that is available in all four dining rooms, plus an exclusive menu of Mediterranean offerings (think: lamb kabobs or coq au vin).

Included; breakfast and lunch

Celebrity offers breakfast and lunch counter service at Eden Cafe during limited hours. It is near the popular specialty dining venue, Eden Restaurant, but the food served at the cafe is complimentary. Specialty coffees and teas like those served at Cafe al Bacio, plus grab-and-go food and lighter fare like soups and salads come with an added charge.

Eden Restaurant

celebrity cruises air reservations

Fixed price; dinner

This is fine dining with an earthy menu featuring seafood, lamb, beef and chicken entrees. Three different dining experiences are available: the main menu, a seven-course tasting menu with optional wine pairings and a seven-course vegan tasting menu with optional organic wine pairings. The dress code is smart casual, so no need to get all dolled up for a meal here.

Fine Cut Steakhouse

Celebrity's version of the American steakhouse features everything you'd expect from a high-end, land-based steakhouse. The menu includes grilled seafood, steaks, chicken and lamb, as well as prime rib. Topping choices range from bearnaise to blue cheese to black truffle butter. Additional entrees come with an extra charge, as do dry-aged beef cuts.

Lawn Club Grill

Fixed price; lunch and dinner

Celebrity puts a twist on backyard barbecue with the Lawn Club Grill. At this grill restaurant, you can sit back and enjoy the view of the ocean beyond the only real grass yard at sea while you wait to be served. The menu includes a full salad bar, custom flatbread pizza appetizers and a list of desserts that makes me want to keep going back until I've tried them all. At the top of my list is the warm chocolate chip cookie, which is not a cookie at all but rather cookie dough baked in a 4-inch ramekin until crispy on the outside and gooey on the inside; it's served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top.

Available on : Celebrity Reflection and Silhouette

Le Grande Bistro

Fixed price; breakfast, lunch and dinner

Imagine a French sidewalk cafe at sea serving warm croissants with Nutella at breakfast and a daily special that ranges from baked ham sandwiches on French baguettes to pan-seared Dover sole.

Le Petit Chef

celebrity cruises air reservations

The experience at Le Petit Chef goes far beyond the food on the plate. That's because the entire table comes to life with an animated show throughout the meal. The menu is broken into two options: Le Menu Extraordinaire and "The Other Menu." The first features chicken, while the "other" choice is a filet mignon. Both lean toward rich French cuisine.

Included for Retreat guests; breakfast, lunch on sea days and dinner

Expect food that is a notch above even some of the specialty dining options on board. Service is designed to cater to your every need. Breakfast offers a choice of staples, while the lunch and dinner menus rotate daily.

Main dining room

Each non-Edge Class ship in the fleet has a single, multistory main dining room. The main dining room has a different name on each ship. The food is complimentary, except for extra a la carte options available each night. The menu changes daily and is available in the Celebrity app, on your cabin's interactive TV and posted near the dining room.

All Celebrity ships, except the expedition vessels, have the option to choose traditional early and late dining where you sit at the same table at the same time with the same people and the same set of servers each night.

Alternatively, guests can select the line's flexible dining option, called Celebrity Select Anytime Dining. You will be assigned to a specific floor of the dining room (or a specific dining room on Edge Class ships). You can make reservations for specific times each day, which gets you seated quickly and often with the added benefit of dining with the same servers each night. If you do not make reservations, you can show up when you're ready and wait for an available table. Without reservations, you might have to wait a while to be seated. Diners on the flexible plan can ask to try different tables and different servers throughout the week.

Available on : Non-Edge Class ships

Magic Carpet restaurant

celebrity cruises air reservations

A la carte; lunch and dinner

The Magic Carpet is the elevator-style platform attached to the side of all Edge Class ships. When the platform is positioned next to Raw on 5, it features a menu that includes favorites from the Raw on 5 menu but with extras. For example, the lunch menu includes a turkey club sandwich and a lobster roll, as well as fish and chips.

Included; lunch and dinner

The Mast Grill is your go-to spot for poolside burgers and hot dogs along with all the toppings, fries and onion rings. It's ideal for a quick alfresco bite before or after a port excursion.

Murano serves French cuisine in a fine dining setting. Guests have the choice of the five-course tasting menu called "Five Senses" or their own starter and entree, among a broad selection of meat, poultry and fish options. Caviar is available at market price.

Available on : Celebrity Eclipse, Equinox, Reflection, Silhouette, Solstice and Summit

Normandie Restaurant

celebrity cruises air reservations

If you can't get enough French-inspired food or you like it but not enough to splurge on it in a specialty restaurant, you can dine at this French-inspired main dining room for free. You can choose from the basics served in all main dining rooms or opt for the Normandie exclusives, such as sirloin en croute or duck confit.

Oceanview Cafe

Included; breakfast, lunch, and dinner

Oceanview Cafe is the ship's buffet eatery. Expect a full range of globally inspired foods at every meal. Cooked-to-order egg, pancake and waffle stations are the center of breakfast choices. At lunch, look for meat-carving stations, salads, sandwich-making bars and a fresh pizza station. Plus, there's ice cream by the scoop. Dinner includes pizza, pasta and salad stations, plus cook-to-order stir fry and grilling stations.

As the name suggests, Raw on 5 is the spot to get your sushi (or even your oyster) fix on Edge Class ships. The menu goes beyond just sushi with a modern Japanese menu that includes cooked dishes like chicken teriyaki and pan-seared rib-eye medallions.

Rooftop Garden Grill

celebrity cruises air reservations

Start with spicy wings and work your way through a choice of burgers, pizza, kabobs or ribs at this alfresco, top-of-ship restaurant. Imagine summer backyard party food to get a sense of what to expect.

Included and a la carte; breakfast and lunch

The solarium is the spot to seek out healthy alternatives to heavy cruise food. Fruit and yogurt cups, salads, light sandwiches, wraps and granola are yours for the taking each day. Smoothies and fresh juices are available for an extra charge or come included if you purchase a drink package.

Sushi on Five

With a more limited menu than its Edge Class cousin, Sushi on Five features traditional sushi and sashimi with only a few non-seafood options. The Kobe Beef Ramen Slider might be the perfect secret menu item for that stubborn travel companion who just doesn't do sushi.

Available on : Celebrity Constellation, Eclipse, Equinox, Infinity, Millennium and Reflection

The Porch Seafood Restaurant

Picture yourself at a seaside resort in the Hamptons noshing on lobster rolls or a basket of blackened mahi-mahi tacos. Oh wait, you're not really in the Hamptons; you're cruising on one of only two ships in the Celebrity fleet with this unique semi-enclosed restaurant on Deck 15. Opening hours are weather dependent — high winds would be the main cause for a closure. The venue has limited seating, so you'll need reservations.

The Retreat Lounge

celebrity cruises air reservations

Included for Retreat guests; lunch and snacks

The Retreat Lounge serves up bar bites, gourmet snacks and even gourmet burgers on occasion. Check with servers for what's available to munch on each day.

Tuscan Grill

Combine all things Italian with a classic steakhouse, and you'll find yourself in Tuscan Grill. The menu is extensive enough for you to dine here multiple times. From soup to pasta and pizza to entrees featuring beef, chicken or seafood, you can't really go wrong with this choice.

Available on : Celebrity Constellation, Equinox, Infinity, Millennium, Reflection, Silhouette, Solstice and Summit

Tuscan Restaurant

celebrity cruises air reservations

Not to be confused with the Tuscan Grill, the fourth and final main dining room choice on Edge Class ships is inspired by Italy. Traditional options are still available, or go all in on the exclusives, such as slow-roasted pork chops or roasted chicken with Asiago cheese sauce.

Frequently asked Celebrity food questions

How does the main dining room work.

At booking, you are offered a choice between traditional times, designated as early or late, or flexible dining called Celebrity Select Anytime Dining.

Do I need reservations for dinner in a specialty restaurant?

Waiter-served, extra-fee restaurants — whether fixed price or a la carte — typically require reservations. Popular choices with limited seating might fill all available time slots as soon as reservations open. As such, it's better to make a reservation to ensure you get the time slot you prefer.

What do 'a la carte' and 'fixed price' mean?

A la carte pricing refers to restaurants where the food is priced per item. You only pay for what you order. An entire menu might be individually priced, as in Raw on 5, or you might only see a few items with prices on an otherwise complimentary menu, as in the main dining room.

Fixed price indicates that dining at the restaurant has a single cover charge for the full meal. Many of Celebrity's fixed-price restaurants have more than one cover charge option. For example, you might select a tasting menu that will have a higher fixed price.

Most also have a la carte choices that are an extra price over and above the cover price. Examples of that are the aged beef options at Fine Cut Steakhouse.

Beverages other than tea, coffee and water are an added charge at fixed-price restaurants unless specifically stated as being included or part of a beverage package.

Which beverages are included with my cruise fare?

Drip coffee, tap water, hot and iced tea, milk and one or more flavored drinks like fruit punch or lemonade dispensed from drink machines are included in the cost of your cruise. All other beverages can be purchased individually, or you can buy a beverage package to pay for unlimited drinks in advance (fine print applies). Read our guide to Celebrity Cruises drink packages for details.

Is there room service, and what does it cost?

Room service is available in all cabins. Continental breakfast is available at no charge; choices include coffee, pastries, fruit and cold cereal. Hot breakfast, lunch, dinner and all snacks incur a delivery charge of $9.95 plus 20% gratuity. The food itself is mostly complimentary, but select items are priced a la carte.

How do specialty dining packages work?

To lower your specialty dining costs, you can buy a multinight package or an unlimited dining package. These are all available for purchase in the cruise planner before sailing. The unlimited package allows you to dine at any specialty restaurant each night of your cruise, plus enjoy lunches when they are available.

Does Celebrity charge extra for lobster?

Lobster tails may be ordered any night of the cruise for an extra charge in the main dining room. If complimentary lobster is served in the dining room as part of the menu, only one lobster tail is included. Additional lobsters are charged to your bill.

Do Captain's Club members have access to Blu or Luminae?

No. Only guests staying in The Retreat suites may enjoy Luminae, and Blu is primarily for AquaClass cabin guests. Retreat passengers may dine in Blu if there is space available.
