Cruise Lines with Family-Friendly Halloween Sailings

Disney Cruise Line Halloween on the High Seas

Disney Cruise Line Halloween on the High Seas

October is a beautiful time of year to travel: the weather tends to be cooler without being uncomfortably cold, airfare is lower, and crowds are smaller than in the peak summer months. This shoulder season is also a great time to take advantage of regional celebrations, such as wine harvest festivals in Europe, not to mention the natural splendor of fall foliage in regions like New England, the Canadian Maritimes, and even Japan.

Families traveling in late October have an additional factor to consider: Halloween. This spooktacular celebration is a favorite among kids, who look forward to carving pumpkins, donning costumes, and trick-or-treating. While some adults may be indifferent, most children don’t want to miss Halloween.

Luckily, many cruise lines cater to families during autumn months with Halloween programming. In some cases, cruise lines offer a special one-time itinerary that includes Oct. 31, while others have multiple sailings throughout the season with themed decor, drinks, and activities.

We’ve rounded up all the cruise lines that offer confirmed Halloween sailings with themed itineraries in 2024 and beyond. We focused on family-friendly cruises with activities for children and unique programming to celebrate the holiday.

Carnival Cruise Line

vibe on disney cruise

Carnival Cruise Line celebrates Halloween throughout the month of October across its entire fleet. All ships feature decorations – including Patch the Pumpkin Pirate in the atrium, and special Halloween backdrops for photos. Carnival also offers themed drink specials, and on Oct. 31, Halloween desserts.

Guests can enjoy activities ranging from “frightfully fun” trivia, dance classes, and karaoke, to trick-or-treating, pumpkin carving contests, and even Halloween-themed casino programming (North American only).

Not all of Carnival’s programming is the same across its fleet. Guests who travel on Excel ships (Carnival Celebration, Mardis Gras, and Carnival Jubilee) can enjoy a Halloween costume contest and “Monster Ball,” while the other ships feature “Patch’s Halloween Deck Party and Costume Contest” instead.

Costa Cruise Line

Kids sailing on Costa Cruise Line over Halloween will enjoy a decorated Squok Club, complete with creepy crawlies and pumpkins. The lounges, restaurants, and atrium will also be decorated with carved pumpkins, and on Oct. 31, Halloween-themed desserts are on the menu – including a specialty ice cream at the Gelataria.

Cunard, known for its iconic transatlantic cruises and rich history, goes all in on classy celebrations – Halloween included. Guests can look forward to a Halloween-themed gala ball or a party in the Queens Room, as well as festive decorations, a pumpkin carving contest, specialty cocktails and desserts, themed quizzes, scary movies, and “kreepy karaoke.”

Cunard does have children’s activities onboard as well. Young passengers will enjoy Halloween crafts and activities in The Kids’ Zone, as well as trick-or-treating.

Disney Cruise Line: Halloween on the High Seas

vibe on disney cruise

Disney loves Halloween. This is true both on land and on the sea. While the theme parks are known for going all out with festive decor, specialty food and drinks, and even re-themed attractions, Disney Cruise Line offers its own spin on the holiday: Halloween on the High Seas . Available on Magic, Dream, Fantasy, and Wish, the special itinerary includes the dance party event Mickey’s Mouse-querade, themed crafts, trick-or-treating, spine-tingling treats, and character meet-and-greets.

One fan-favorite highlight of Halloween on the High Seas sailings is that the walkaround characters don special costumes. It’s a chance for guests to get their picture with Mickey, Minnie, and Donald and others in unique dress. Recently, Disney added Minnie Mouse, Daisy Duck, and Clarabelle Cow dressed as the Sanderson sisters from the hit movie “Hocus Pocus.”

Similar to the parks, Disney’s Halloween festivities are not limited to October. Sailings begin in September, and 2025’s dates are already available to book with guaranteed activities.

Holland America Line

Halloween decorations

While Holland America Line is not a family cruise line in the same way most other cruise lines on this list are, it does offer a kids club. It’s overall laid-back vibe is good for multi-gen groups, but it might not be a great fit for a family with young kids looking for excitement.

Having said that, HAL does offer Halloween-themed activities that the entire family can enjoy (including Great-Grandma), such as crafts, a costume party, a themed tea, special desserts in Lido Market, and even a carved pumpkin contest guests can vote on.

MSC Cruises

Guests onboard MSC Cruises over Halloween will enjoy frightfully fun festivities for all ages. This includes themed menus, parades and parties, costume contests, arts and crafts, quizzes, and other themed games.

Kids onboard will also enjoy a Halloween-inspired itinerary designed just for them. Highlights include an MSC Scary House, trick-or-treating, workshops, challenges, gameshows, and even a writing contest. Teens can celebrate the season with a Halloween night party and costume and makeup competition.

Norwegian Cruise Line

Norwegian Cruise Line throws a Halloween party for passengers, complete with festive decorations, goodies, and specialty cocktails. Guests can enjoy themed activities like trivia, as well as trick-or-treating and a costume contest.

Be warned: Because youth programming differs ship-to-ship, NCL cannot confirm the specific activities onboard.

Princess Cruises

Princess Cruises stands out as having some of the most creative and unique family-friendly activities on its Halloween sailings. In addition to the more common offerings, like pumpkin carving contest, themed trivia, and spooky décor, the cruise also runs a ghost ship tour, a pumpkin pie eating contest, a “guess the weight of the pumpkin” contest, and Halloween gameshows.

Cinephiles and horror-lovers alike can enjoy a scary movie marathon, while the kids can choose from Halloween pool games, themed arts and crafts, and even a ship-wide trick-or-treating with the whole family.

Royal Caribbean

Guests on sailings over Oct. 31 are encouraged to don costumes and celebrate Halloween with Royal Caribbean. The ships feature holiday decorations, as well as themed daily activities like costume contests and scavenger hunts.

Adventure Ocean, Royal Caribbean’s award-winning childcare facilities, also offers kid-friendly Halloween decorations and activities.

Door decorations on cruises: How to get creative in your cabin corridor

Megan duBois

You've likely walked down the endless cabin corridors on a cruise ship only to find that every door looks exactly the same. While it can be challenging to remember your room number (I'm one of those people who's lost for the first few days of a cruise), one way to remember which room is yours is by decorating your door.

If you've ever sailed on Disney Cruise Line, Royal Caribbean or Carnival Cruise Line, you might have even passed some cruise door decorations like magnets, signs and small banners and thought about doing the same on your next cruise. It's a great idea since decorations are an easy way to know which room is yours, plus it adds a little pizzazz to the vibe in the hallways.

For cruise news, reviews and tips, sign up for TPG's cruise newsletter .

If you've been inspired by cruise ship neighbors and plan to decorate on your next cruise, you should know a few key things before you plan your hallway masterpiece. Read on to learn which cruise lines allow decorations, which decorations are best and where to find the best cruise door decoration ideas.

Which lines allow cruise door decorations?

vibe on disney cruise

Not all cruise lines allow door decorations. For the lines that do, here are their basic decorating rules.

Carnival Cruise Line

Carnival Cruise Line allows door decorations as long as they're made from fire-retardant materials. Decorations can only be placed on the cabin door and not on the adjacent hallway walls. Magnets or command strips are acceptable ways to hang decorations, but tape and glue are not. String lights are also not allowed.

I love going with a themed door when I'm sailing with Carnival. I try to think about what upcoming holidays are close to my sailing or where the cruise is sailing to. For example, if the cruise is heading to Mexico, I might try to find some taco and margarita magnets to put on my door to bring a bit of fun flair to the hallway.

Royal Caribbean

Royal Caribbean permits guests to decorate their cabin doors, but you should ensure that all decorations stay on the doors and not stray to a nearby wall. Decorations should not destroy the door in any way. If you want to decorate your door while on a Royal Caribbean cruise, simple magnets are best.

I try to find decorations that fit the lively party vibe of Royal Caribbean ships. Party banners that can be hung with magnets are always a hit. I also love finding fringe curtains and cutting them to the size of my door to add a little sparkle and shine to my cabin entry.

Disney Cruise Line

Disney Cruise Line passengers can decorate their doors but cannot use adhesive to affix the decorations. Otherwise, Disney is fairly open to all types of door decorations. Decorative magnets or hanging signs with magnetic hooks are a popular choice.

Unfortunately, Concierge rooms on Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy have wooden doors, so magnets will not stick. If you've booked one of these rooms, you'll be limited as to how you can decorate.

Many Disney Cruise Line decorations take their inspiration from the huge collection of Disney characters and movies. In the past, I've seen everything from The Muppets and "Star Wars" characters to Mickey Mouse and Pixar decorations on doors.

A particularly Disney trend is to attach a magnetic pin board to your door. Fellow cruisers will pick up one of your pins and leave behind one of their own. I've gotten some really fun pins from international parks this way. On holiday cruises, generous travelers will even attach small gift bags to their doors and passersby can help themselves to a holiday treat.

Princess Cruises

Princess Cruises allows door decorations, and doors are often decorated for celebrations like birthdays, anniversaries and graduations. Like all the other lines, Princess Cruises prohibits decorations that might damage the door, so the use of adhesives to stick decorations to the door is a no-go here.

Princess leans into its connection with "The Love Boat," so you might want to find decoration inspiration from the 1970s sitcom. Print out pictures of characters, the ship and the logo, then laminate and stick a magnet to each piece and you're set to sail.

Holland America

Holland America also allows guests to decorate their doors but offers no rules about the size or placement of the decorations. The brand does ask its guests not to display any inappropriate decorations.

The best decorations for a cruise with Holland America are themed around the cruising lifestyle, with magnets that show off your favorite cocktail, trivia champion status or any big milestone celebrations you'll be having while on board.

MSC Cruises

MSC Cruises does allow door decorations as long as they are family-friendly. If I had an upcoming sailing on MSC, I would find some decorations that showcased any celebrations like birthdays or anniversaries I might be celebrating or some cute cruise magnets or banners.

Celebrity Cruises

Decorating cabin doors is less common on Celebrity Cruises than its sister company, Royal Caribbean, but the cruise line does still allow decorations. One thing to keep in mind if you're decorating your cabin door on Celebrity is that nothing should damage the door in any way.

If you want to decorate with something that's on theme for a Celebrity cruise, consider decorating with martini magnets, which are right in line with the brand's iconic Martini Bar.

Which cruise lines do not allow door decorations?

vibe on disney cruise

Norwegian Cruise Line

Leave your cruise door decorations at home if you're sailing on Norwegian Cruise Line , as it has banned door decorations on all ships. The line cites the safety of guests and crew because many cruise door decorations can be a fire hazard.

Virgin Voyages

According to the Virgin Voyages cabin FAQ, "We think our lady ships look fabulous as they are, and door decorations inevitably lead to unsightly damage." So, no, you cannot use cruise door decorations on any of the ships in the Virgin Voyages fleet.

Which types of cruise door decorations are best?

To ensure you comply with the majority of the cruise line's door decoration policies, try to find decorations that are either magnetic or can be hung with magnetic hooks. None of the decorations should leave a residue on the door. The best decorations are easy to pack, lightweight and won't get in the way of your room steward as they enter your cabin.

Which types of cruise door decorations should you leave at home?

Leave string lights, crepe paper, garlands and cumbersome decorations at home. Cruise door decorations that might get in the way of your room steward or other guests should also be left behind. Do not pack any decorations that are so large they extend beyond the door or need to be attached to the hallway panels. Most cruise lines only allow decorations on the actual door of your cabin.

What should you keep in mind when packing decorations?

vibe on disney cruise

Think about space when picking and packing your cruise door decorations. I love bringing magnets that can lie flat in my suitcase but look great on my cabin door. If you're flying to your cruise embarkation port, you'll need to think about size and weight. You don't want heavy decorations that would weigh down your bag. For example, big wooden signs or pinboards that could be held up by magnets might look cute on your door, but they can also weigh down your suitcase.

If you want to decorate your cabin door as soon as you board, you should pack your decorations in your carry-on bag.

Where do you find cruise door decoration ideas?

If you're looking for decoration inspiration, Pinterest is a great place to start. You'll find thousands of ideas for door decorations on the site. You can filter your selection further by putting the cruise line name into the search bar. For example, if you're going on a Carnival cruise, search "cruise door decorations carnival cruise line" to get ship-specific ideas.

I also love finding ideas on Etsy because I can see and buy decorations right away. Hundreds of Etsy shops sell cruise door decorations, but buy them early so they arrive in time for your vacation. Also, read reviews before you place an order because some shops offer higher-quality products than others.

You can also find acceptable door decorations at party stores, dollar stores or the Target Dollar Spot. If you're looking for decorations where you live, you can find great cruise decorations with a tropical vibe during the spring and summer months.

Do cruise lines sell decorations on board or online?

Some cruise lines sell door and cabin decorations online before a cruise begins and on board once you've embarked. These include Disney Cruise Line , Royal Caribbean and Carnival Cruise Line . If you plan on buying your decorations online or on the ship, be sure you have plenty of room in your suitcase to bring them back home with you, too. The decoration package might include souvenir pillowcases, towels and picture frames, as well as easier-to-pack magnets.

Do you have to decorate your door on a cruise?

vibe on disney cruise

No cruise line requires you to decorate your door, but joining in the fun of decorating can enhance your overall cruise experience, especially on certain cruise lines. If you're sailing with Disney Cruise Line or Carnival Cruise Line, you'll find that many doors in the cabin hallways are decorated. Disney cruise door decorations can range in style from large magnets featuring Mickey and Minnie Mouse to smaller decorations that showcase a family's personality and interests or even themed decorations to match a holiday-based cruise, birthday or anniversary celebration.

For Carnival cruise door decorations, the majority of the options tend to lean more into the fun party vibe on board Carnival's ships. You'll find that many of the doors are covered in cocktail glass magnets and have cute signs that say something about a celebration or being on vacation mode.

Get started shopping for cruise door decorations

Decorating your cruise cabin door can be a fun way to get into the cruising spirit while serving as a helpful tool for finding your cabin in a long corridor. Even if you don't wish to decorate your own door, take a few minutes on your sailing to wander the cabin hallways and look at your shipmates' door decor. The creativity cruisers display is sure to brighten your day.

10 Best Cruise Lines for Teens (2024)

I f you’re planning a family vacation, you’re probably considering a cruise. After all, their all-inclusive options and kid-friendly environments make it an easy way to enjoy a getaway. But what about the teens in your group? Today we’re talking all about the best cruise lines for teens so that you can plan a vacation the whole family is sure to enjoy.

Best Cruise Lines for Teens They Are Sure to Love!

Teens can have an absolutely fantastic time on cruises, but you’ll need to make sure you’re booking ones with plenty of fun activities for them. It’s a tricky balance for many teens, since they’ll be repelled by overly cheesy programs but possibly bored with the adults-centered offerings.

However, the right ones can be a teen’s paradise, granting them a safe way to explore independently while getting in just enough quality time with the rest of the family.

That’s why we’ve gathered the best cruise lines for teens. Read on to discover our top picks that are perfect for your entire family.

1. Royal Caribbean

Royal Caribbean is one of the most famous cruise lines, and it’s known for having some of the biggest and most intricate ships out there. But what will your teen think of their time at sea with Royal Caribbean Cruises?

Let’s start with its most notable feature: the water slides. Royal Caribbean ships have thrilling water slides and pools that most teens will love. Plus, there is a special teen club that is separated by small age groups. Older teens and preteens will have daily activities catered just for them.

In the Teen Club, they can participate in dance parties, scavenger hunts, and video games. Who knows? They may even make new friends.

But Royal Caribbean’s newest ship is what will really wow your teen. Icon of the Seas just launched last month with the largest waterpark at sea and the first suspended infinity pool at sea.

Daring teens can try the freefalling water slide at Thrill Island, or the entire family can enjoy a show in their massive AquaTheater. This is the largest cruise ship in the world, so kids of all ages will be impressed by its size and activities.

Royal Caribbean offers destination itineraries around the world. It’s the perfect balance of relaxation and adventure.

2. Disney

Disney often gets the reputation for being for younger children (and infamous “Disney Adults”), but Disney Cruise Line is one of our top picks for teens.

“Vibe” is our number-one reason for loving Disney cruises so much. This lounge is exclusively for ages 14-17 and is staffed with great counselors who run a range of relaxed and engaging activities. Here you’ll find huge video screens, a private pool, foosball tables, and a smoothie bar.

The Disney Dream, Disney Fantasy, and Disney Magic ships all have teen spas on board, which is one of the most unique things we’ve seen on family vacations.

Your teen will enjoy their independence on board the Disney Cruise, but you can all come back together in the evening to enjoy dinner and all-ages entertainment. Disney knows how to create engaging productions, so the nightly live shows are be a real treat.

Off-ship, you can enjoy tropical activities like snorkeling as a family or send them off to the teen camp where counselors will show them the best of your destination.

3. Norwegian

Norwegian is another great cruise line with teen-centric activities. These group programs will entertain your teens all day while you enjoy blissful relaxation (you earned it!).

Select ships feature laser tag courses, escape rooms, go-kart tracks, and teen lounges. Many of these activities come at an extra cost, so you can do a little number-crunching to see how they compare with more all-inclusive ships. Even at a higher price, your family may find that the Norwegian experience is a perfect vacation.

The teen lounge is super relaxed and allows older children to come and go as they please. For fun-in-the-sun, the Norwegian Bliss ship has multiple waterslides, a water obstacle course, and rows of lounge chairs.

One of our favorite things about Norwegian Cruise Line is their Broadway-caliber productions that are pitch-perfect entertainment for teens.

4. UnCruise

Have you ever heard of UnCruise? This line of small cruise ships feels like a hidden gem amid a sea of mega vessels. Depending on the season, you can sail various routes in the Caribbean, Mexico, and Pacific, including a great Alaska Cruise that teens will love.

UnCruise ships hold anywhere from 20 to 85 passengers, so this is a huge difference from the other options on our best cruise lines for teens list. And the ships’ smaller sizes mean they can access places others can’t.

It also means you’ll actually spend a lot of time with your teen during your cruise. Guided adventures are perfect for families with older kids. Kayaking excursions, hikes, and snorkeling are just some of the things you can look forward to.

Meals are inventive and thoughtful, time on board is relaxed, and the sightseeing is unbeatable. You can learn more about  UnCruise adventure cruises here . Although they don’t have the non-stop teen clubs and wild water parks of other cruises, the one-of-a-kind experience will become a core memory for you and your teen.

UnCruise is also one of the best cruises for college-age kids, as their bespoke experiences are perfect for young adults.

5. Carnival

Carnival Cruise Line draws a lot of budget travelers who want a fun family vacation. But they’re not just known for their (relatively) lower costs. Carnival ships offers a party atmosphere that’s perfect for teens.

Probably their best ship for teens is the Carnival Mardis Gras, which has a rollercoaster. If that alone isn’t enough to get your teens “on board,” how about a huge arcade, loads of food, and (on select ships) a trampoline park?

Nightly entertainment is more of your standard cruise-ship fare, but it’s well done and should be engaging for the entire family. Routes can take you through the Caribbean, Hawaii, Alaska, or international destinations.

And with regular sales and various booking options, you’ll be able to find a cruise that fits your wallet and your family’s vacation style.

6. Celebrity

Celebrity Cruise Line most often caters to an older crowd, but it’s still a lot of fun for teens – especially if you’re looking for a nice balance between family time and at-sea thrills.

On Celebrity ships, teens get an all-star treatment with pool parties, an exclusive lounge, and game tournaments. When it’s time to come together as a family, you’ll be treated to great food and top-notch service.

Celibrity’s spa menu has special services for 13-17 year olds, plus side-by-side treatments for a parent-kid spa day.

We also like how Celebrity offers immersive sightseeing programs at their destinations. Your entire family can join small group walking tours through Europe, treetop expeditions in Costa Rica, and wildlife viewing in remote locales.

7. Princess Cruises

With fewer high-octane thrills, Princess Cruises are ideal for simple pleasures. We’re thinking pool-side lounging, great dining options, classic group games, and sports activities.

But this is the perfect place for teens who may not be into giant water slides and over-the-top amenities. Many ships have a “Rock the Boat” party, video game tournaments, movies, and even dance classes.

If your family is seeking bigger thrills, their newest ship, Sun Princess , has a  hang-gliding experience, an obstacle course, and a glistening new teens lounge with a dance floor and video games.

We also recommend Princess Cruises if you are planning group travel with older family members . There are plenty of places to find peace and quiet, lounge with a good book, or sit back and watch the kids play.

8. MSC Cruises

MSC Cruises are a great budget-friendly option for family travel, as they offer great sales where kids cruise for free.

But it’s not a “cheap” experience. Sure, it’s not as flashy as the huge vessels with waterparks and roller coasters, but family members of all ages will have a great time on MSC Cruise Ships. There are pools, fantastic food, family entertainment, and themed decor.

MSC departs from Miami and New York, and they offer fun destinations like the Mediterranean and Bahamas. Their short cruises are an excellent option for families who want fun at sea but are short on time.

9. Lindblad Expeditions

True adventurers will love Lindblad Expeditions , which partners with National Geographic to offer immersive, nature-centered excursions the entire family will love. With fewer than 200 passengers on board, these cruises are super personal and hands-on.

Teens can become National Geographic Global Explorers at some of the most awe-inspiring destinations, like Alaska and the Galapagos. Field educators will guide you through the expeditions and even offer photography courses for future Nat Geo photographers.

You won’t find your typical cruise ship on-board entertainment, and your teen may miss constant wi-fi access. However, there is complimentary Starlink-enabled wi-fi available for all guests as well as internet packages available for purchase (with the exception of the Delfin II ship).

We think the complimentary wi-fi will cover their basic needs, but once they’re immersed in these incredible locations, they’ll soon forget their phones even exist. Plus, you and your teen can thoroughly enjoy all of the outdoor activities, so it’s great for family bonding.

10. AmaWaterways & Adventures by Disney

If you love Disney’s unique experiences but want a more authentic on-the-ground vacation, then their partnership with AmaWaterways will be perfect.

Adventures by Disney offers various river cruises through Europe – a great option for families wanting to see Europe in comfort while knowing the little details are all taken care of.

Adventure guides will take you on off-ship excursions, like farm tours, ziplining, castle tours, and bike excursions. Or, opt for one of their winter cruises that include stops at Europe’s famous Christmas Markets .

The ship will sail by night, giving you and your family a sufficient amount of time to explore various destinations. It’s great family bonding, but your teen can still have some independence on board as they enjoy karaoke, movie nights, and exclusive dinners for young guests. All of this is done with a touch of Disney magic that is perfect for families.

Disney Cruises are tons of fun! There are so many activities that are scheduled on days at sea as well as days when your ship will be at port. I promise, you will never be board on a Disney Cruise .

The activities and entertainment on these cruises is top notch, because it is Disney after all. In the past, your stateroom host would leave you a Navigator, or list of activities for the next day, each night.

Disney has discontinued printing and passing out these schedules, and you can now find all of this information on the Disney Navigator App. I’m not going to lie, I will miss looking at the physical schedule, but it was nice to have everything I needed to know, right on my phone.

Earning my ears.

Hi - I loved seeing the Vibe pictures, but I was wondering if there are any teens (or parents of teens with stories) that can tell us how they liked it? My daughter will be in the Vibe on our cruise so I'd love to tell her some good stories to get her excited to go check it out!

Five cruises down, fingers crossed for jan 2022.

Vibe is amazing! It's so well laid out so teens feel free but are still supervised without feeling watched over. The Counsellors were all really nice and friendly and I'm quite shy but they were great at getting me involved and making friends. Definitely have to go on the first night though, so that people don't form friendship groups before you arrive - they have ice breaker activities which are really good. Overall it's fantastic and I still talk to a lot of the people I met there!

cmclaura said: We just came off our fourth DCL cruise earlier this month and my 17 year old daughter LOVES the teen club (used to be called The Stack, now The Vibe). She's made great friends each year and is still in contact with many of them. The group from last year is planning a reunion cruise in 4 more years, when they will all be adult. This year's group is more impatient; they want to do something next year! I thought that by this age, she'd be tired of the teen club, but she's looking forward to next year. She'll have just turned 18 but will still be in HS, when we cruise on the Dream for New Year's Eve. She's starting to get sad that it will be her last cruise with privileges in The Vibe. We definitely encourage your daughter to go the The Vibe and make new friends. Click to expand...

Thanks Shmoo I didn't notice the date.

It’s A Small World Nursery (for infants and toddlers 3 months to 3 yo/reservations required, additional charges. The price is UD$9 per hour for the first kid, and US$8 for each additional. The nursery is open from 9:00 a.m. to midnight and offers an age-appropriate playroom, a quiet area with cribs, rocking chairs and swings.)

In the Infinity section kids will find ten gaming stations, each with 2 controllers. The life-size Infinity gaming station is where guests become the game pieces and can control the outcome of the competition with body movements. Children work in teams of 2 to rack up points and beat the highest scores. The Star Wars play area is Millennium Falcon-themed and features a replica of the cockpit of the Millennium Falcon, complete with 2 chairs where children sit to "fly" the aircraft via simulations. The control room has many lights, buttons and levers. A likeness of Falcon's common room, situated to the right, serves as a seating area. Parents can visit the Oceaneer during select hours.)

Disney Oceaneer Lab (kids 3-12 yo play area for games, experiments, culinary classes and other interactive stuff; has a stage; themed rooms here are: “Media Room”/movies, video games, reading; “Animator’s Studio”/animation studio for creating characters and art; “The Wheelhouse”/computers, 1 huge plasma screen; “Sound Studio”/recording studio; and “Craft Studio”/hand-made arts and crafts. The Oceaneer Club and Lab are connected so kids can easily go back and forth, thus doubling their space at any given time. Though Club activities appeal to younger children and Lab for older ones, Disney's approach of allowing access both clubs means siblings can hang out together and all kids can pursue their interests.)

NOTE: all kids enrolled in the Oceaneer Club/Lab and the nursery, for which they have to sign in and out with a wristband, will be charged US$12.95 for the band. When it is returned at the end of the voyage, the charge is removed.

Category 8A ("Deluxe Family Oceanview” are all 12 staterooms with 2 large porthole windows but without split bathrooms. Disney wonder – updated vibe teenage club.

Vibe Teen Club

Here are our pictures of the Vibe teenage club (for ages 14-17) on the Disney Wonder from our Southern Caribbean Trip taken in January 2020.  It was updated in Fall 2019 to a more open feel.  We have previously discussed what the club looked like before the refurbishment .  The club is located in the central smokestack of the ship.  There is an elevator that goes directly into the club as well.

Entrance to the Vibe

When you enter the club, immediately to the right of the entrance is a set of video games, as well as the ever present canister of hand wipes.

Video Games

Looking to the front and left of the entrance, is the elevator that opens into the Vibe.  The counselors also have their profiles on a board for the cruisers to read.

Inside the Entrance

The central part of the club is focused on the main television, with lots of comfortable seating surrounding it.

Center of the Vibe

There is a room in the back as well, with a Guitar Hero machine in the entrance.

Entrance to the Back Room

The back room is just a quieter place away from the noise of the central room.

Back Room

To the front of the central room is a smoothie bar!  There is also a new coffee machine there for everyone to enjoy.

Coffee/Smoothing Bar

The front windows have been opened up so there is more light.  I believe the area in front is the concierge sun deck area.

Coffee/Smoothing Bar

Next to the bar is a small booth to sit and talk, or to enjoy a smoothie or coffee drink.

Bar Seating

Overall, the club has been opened up and given a lighter feel.  If you would like to hear a teenager’s view on the available activities on the ship, my daughter has talked about the Vibe Club on Rope Drop Radio .

Vibe teen club on the Disney Wish

vibe on disney cruise

Aboard the Disney Wish, Vibe is the designated space for those ages 14 to 17. This space has multiple areas for the teens to hang out and make new friends. They do have counselors that supervise here just like the other kid clubs on board.

vibe on disney cruise

They have a whole row of TVs with different video game systems and a big list of games the kids can choose from. They also have a foosball table and section to play games or make crafts.

vibe on disney cruise

The clubs offer open houses on each day of the cruise so anyone can check them out and kids can meet the counselors. The tween and teen clubs allow the kids to come and go without needing to be checked in.

This shared section is the Hideaway for those cruisers aged 18 to 20, it was open to Vibe and Edge club kids during certain times of the cruise.

Cruising For All

Disney Cruise Teen Clubs, Are Disney For Teens?

Today, we are discussing Cruising on the Disney Cruise Line with teens and the Disney Cruise Teen Clubs. These are split between the Vibe Teen Club and Edge Tween Club, three incredible areas teens and tweens won’t want to leave.

We have previously talked about the truly wonderful kids’ clubs and exceptional baby facilities, but what about the teens? Having cruised with our kids for over 20 years, we know how important it is to keep the teens happy.

Disney Cruise For Teenagers – What Does DCL Offer for Teens?

Sharing is caring!

Is a Disney Cruise for Teenagers? Disney Cruise Lines are made for the entire family, even the notoriously difficult-to-please teen cruiser!

There are plenty of things for teenagers to do while sailing on a Disney cruise ship.

This guide is written by my son who is now in his 20’s but has spent months on a Disney cruise as a teen.

disneycruiseforteenagers

What is on a Disney Cruise For Teens?

I know what you are thinking. A Disney Cruise Line vacation doesn’t sound like the best way to spend your time as a teen. Well, I spent many very happy vacations on Disney ships as a teen.

Disney may not have the rock climbing, surf rider or sports simulators of some Royal Caribbean ships but it certainly has a lot to offer.

One of the great things is that you do get some family time, but there are plenty of chances to do your own thing, make new friends, and have some new experiences.

Here are some of the best things to do on the Disney ship if you are a teen.

Disney Cruise Sports Deck

On Disney Magic and Wonder, they have table tennis, and foosball, as well as a basketball court, so lots to do!

The Disney Dream and Fantasy also have a miniature golf course.

The best times to go are late at night, dinner-time, or in port. If you go late at night, most likely there’ll be no one there.

This is a great place for sports lovers or anyone who is looking to get a little bit of exercise. Usually, I go there to balance out eating 6 lava cakes at the buffet!

Disney Wish has a very different concept – the Hero Zone. This is a large indoor multi-functional sports area up on Deck 13.

disney wish hero zone

Because of its location, some people never even make it up there, but it is well worth a look.

Hero Zone is a large space on 2 levels, will a spectator area on the second level. This level also has foosball and table tennis. The lower level can be used as a basketball and soccer area.

At certain times of the day, the Incredi-games are set up. This is a huge inflatable obstacle course themed around the Pixara movie The Incredibles. This is for all ages but is a lot of fun for teens as well as the little kids.

Disney Cruise Buena Vista Theater

One of the best places on all of the Disney ships is the Buena Vista Theater – a movie theater at sea! A Disney Cruise for teenagers is not complete without a trip to the movies.

You can watch some of your favorite Disney, Pixar, Marvel, and Star Wars movies here – even some that are still in theaters.

You can also watch new releases the day they come out. They’ll premier at midnight, so you’ll be among the first to see the new movie.

As Disney now seems to own pretty much every franchise and movie studio, this happens pretty frequently these days.

I’ve gone to premiers like this many times with movies such as everybody’s favorite “Pirates” movie – “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides” – as well as the critically acclaimed and box-office smash “John Carter.” Just kidding.

One of the best experiences was watching the premiere of Avengers Endgame. Not only did I get to see the movie as soon as it came out, but I shared the experience with a lot of friends and movie fans. This becomes like a kind of bonding, shared experience.

The Vibe on a Disney Cruise

disneycruiesvibe

The Vibe is the Teen’s Club on a Disney Cruise which on some ships is located in the ship’s funnel.

Here you can do activities, play video games or board games, as well as meet other teens on the ship.

They offer a wide range of activities, such as video game contests, improv classes, Karaoke contests, dodgeball, gaga ball, dance parties, and drawing classes.

Sometimes there are events where you can meet some of the performers in the shows.

It’s a great way to meet people. I have met some amazing people from all over the world on Disney cruises who I still keep in touch with regularly.

I’d highly recommend coming here on the first day as soon as The Vibe is open. Friendships tend to form quickly and it can be difficult to break into already established groups if you leave it a couple of days to check it out.

Disney Cruise Silent Disco

disneydreamcruise

Silent discos are something you should experience at least once in your life, and fortunately, there are plenty of opportunities to take part in one on any of the Disney Cruise Ships.

They offer 3 different channels for you to dance to: “Top 40” (modern songs), “Best of the 80s and 90s,” and then “DJ’s Choice.”

You can either go to the family silent disco or the teen-exclusive one if you don’t want to be humiliated standing next to your parents doing the final dance from “Dirty Dancing” to an excruciatingly accurate degree – even nailing the lift…

Instead of all that, you can go to the teen dance, where you’ll feel amazing because your “sick” dance moves are getting all the girls’ attention.

This works until some competition dancer named Jeff starts doing flips and popping and locking, and suddenly nobody cares that you’re doing the macarena. I never liked Jeff…

In all seriousness, it’s a lot of fun and a great activity for teens.

Disney Cruise Trivia

disneywonderfrenchquarterbar

Pretty much every day they’ll have at least one trivia. Some of them are general trivia, but the large majority of them are Disney-related.

The Disney ones might be about Pixar, Marvel, or music from the Disney movies, depending on what days of the year you’re on the ship and which ship you’re on.

The Disney ones are great if you’re a huge Disney fan. Although, it can be somewhat discouraging when you think you’re the biggest Disney fan, so will have no problem winning the trivia.

Then at the last minute a family of four strolls in, each with a Disney t-shirt, a Disney pair of pants, a Disney pair of shoes, a Disney World cap, Mickey Mouse pair of socks. You name it, they are wearing every bit of Disney merch you can think of.

Then there’s you – drinking your complimentary decaf coffee with soy milk from Deck 9, where the only piece of Disney merchandise you’re wearing is a pair of Baby Yoda briefs, realizing that the odds aren’t so much in your favor.

Seriously though, it’s always fun challenging yourself to a bit of trivia and trying to see how high of a score you can get.

If you want to check just what an expert you are you can try our Disney Cruise Ultimate Trivia

Family Pool on a Disney Cruise

disneywondergoofypool

Disney Magic and Wonder have the Goofy Pool, Disney Fantasy and Dream have Donal’s Family Pool and Disney Wish has Mickey’s Pool.

Disney Wish has a very different pool deck design from the other ships.

There are 3 family pools on the main pool deck. I think this is a better design than the other ships, but now as an adult don’t get me started on the questionable wisdom of the design of the adult pool deck.

The family pools are a lot of fun – just so long as you don’t experience it when it is wall-to-wall 6-year-olds in there. It can get very busy, so you do need to pick your time wisely.

The best time to go to the family pool would be late at night, during dinner time, or when you’re at port. That way it’s not as busy.

One of the best aspects of this pool is Funnel Vision, which is a massive screen that’s attached to the funnel where you can watch some of your favorite Disney or Marvel films while you relax in the pool.

Swimming isn’t usually an option due to the volume of people you would have to swim around, but the pools can still be a lot of fun.

Disney Cruise AquaDuck and AquaMouse

disneyaquaduck

The Disney AquaDuck is one of the best features of a Disney Cruise.

This is exclusive to the Disney Fantasy and the Disney Dream. But Disney Wish has AquaMouse, which is a variation on the AquaDuck (not necessarily an improvement).

The AquaDuck is a Disney original – a water coaster at sea. It is a whole lot of fun and is a definite must-do on a Disney cruise for all ages, particularly teens.

As you can imagine, the AquaDuck and AquaMouse can get pretty busy. You can spend 45 minutes to an hour at busy times.

The solution?

Don’t go at busy times.

So when you get on board, make sure you are either wearing your swimming trunks or that you have them in carry-on luggage. You can then go straight to the AquaDuck as soon as you get on board.

Other less busy times tend to be during dinner second seating, and on port days. The busiest times are days at sea from late morning until around 5 pm.

Make sure that you ride the Disney Cruise AquaDuck at least once. Try also to ride at night for a whole different point of view.

You are never going to go hungry on a Disney cruise. There are so many food options that you are spoiled for choice.

The main dining rooms on all the Disney Cruise ships are fun for teens, particularly the Marvel Restaurant on Disney Wish.

One fun thing to do is to get Room Service. I always made sure that I got at least one pizza from Room Service.

disney cruise room service pizza

And maybe a Mickey Bar.

And Cake of the Day.

Pirate Night

One of the things that Disney Cruise Line is well known for is Pirate Night. This is held on all the Caribbean and Bahamian cruises and some additional cruises in Australia and New Zealand.

A lot of guests get into the swing of things and dress up for Pirate Night.

There is a show and fireworks at sea. Make sure you do not miss out, particularly if this is your first time on a Disney cruise.

Disney’s Castaway Cay For Teens

are disney cruises good for single parents

What is even better than spending time on a Disney Cruise? Spending time on a Disney cruise private island !

Disney’s Castaway Cay is an amazing place, no matter what age you are. For teens is a great chance to spend some time on an amazing private island with your family and friends.

There are lots of port adventures and activities on Castaway Cay to choose from.

You can snorkel, paraglide, kayak, meet the stingrays, and rent a bike. There are so many things to do you won’t know where to start! Or you could just take advantage of the unlimited free ice cream and chill out on the beach.

vibe on disney cruise

If you enjoy water slides you will love Pelican Plunge .

Just get out there are soon as you can – the lines can get long around midday. You do need to be a decent swimmer to get out there, but it is a lot of fun to go on a waterside that dumps you out into the ocean.

I have been lucky enough to spend a long time on Disney cruises as a teen. It is an ideal vacation for my brother and me.

Plenty of things to do and a lot of time both with and without the adults!

If you are thinking of booking a Disney cruise and you have teens go ahead! Just be aware that you will be hooked it will be the first of many!

Everything You Need to Know About Disney Cruise Line’s Kids Clubs

Jackie Gailey

Fulfilling the needs of children and families during their precious vacations is one of the things that Disney does best, and Disney Cruise Line is no exception.

vibe on disney cruise

Children may choose to participate in organized programs in the Oceaneer Club and Oceaneer Lab or they can enjoy a variety of activities that are available throughout the day in other areas of the ship. Slipping and sliding down the chute into Mickey’s Pool, splashing and having fun in the sun in Goofy’s Family Pool, stretching in a morning workout at Goofy’s Family Fitness, family line dancing, and ping pong are just some of the available physical activities that you’ll find aboard Disney’s ships. For more relaxing entertainment, watch a first-run Disney movie in one of the theatres, play a board game, or learn how to draw a Disney character. Play video games or see some of the live entertainment shows featuring some of Disney’s most beloved characters; the fun is yours to discover aboard one of the Disney Cruise Line ships. Throughout the day, Disney characters appear in several locations around the ship to meet and greet the little cruisers (and big ones, too!). The Oceaneer Club and the Oceaneer Lab offer age-specific programs with lots of fun, interesting hands-on activities to keep the younger set entertained. Some parents say that they hardly see their kids at all during their cruise.

Fewer activities are scheduled, and hours can be shorter when the ship is in port. Later in the evening, mats are provided for younger children whose parents may be out past the little one’s bedtime.

Checking Kids In and Out

Parents should plan on checking in their kids for the programs on Embarkation Day. Kids don’t have to participate then, but that’s the best time to complete the paperwork, get your child’s ID bracelet, and learn the check-in/check-out system. This can be done at the port before you even board the ship.  Check the Disney Cruise Line app for check-in times once you’re onboard. Parents can also receive messages using the DCL app on their mobile devices. The clubs will use these to contact parents if needed.

All children must wear their wristband, which contains vital information such as their name, age group, stateroom number, pertinent medical information, and whether or not they have parental permission to sign themselves out of the clubs on their own – this privilege is only available to kids ages 8 and older; younger kids are not able to sign themselves out. Because of the computer chip in the bands, counselors can check in a computer at any given time and know exactly where a child is. The child will tap their band to a scanner at the club’s entrance when checking in and out. This pulls up their information in the computer for the counselors. A password will be required by the adult checking the children out.

Children with special needs are welcome; simply give the Oceaneer Club or Lab advance notice so that they can schedule an extra counselor if need be. Some counselors know sign language and can assist children who are hearing impaired. With cast members from over 50 countries worldwide, many foreign language needs can also be handled.

Disney Cruise Line Youth Clubs

“it’s a small world” NURSERY   (6 months – 3 years) | Dream, Fantasy, Magic, Wish, and Wonder

vibe on disney cruise

This group babysitting center is specifically designed for little ones ages six months to 3 years of age. This is the only option open to parents of the little ones, as there is no in-room babysitting service on the ship. Unlike the planned programs for the older children, the nursery has a per-hour charge with a minimum of 1 hour. For additional children in the same family, the charge is a little less per hour for an additional child. Cancellations can be made without penalty up to 4 hours in advance.

The theming is inspired by the Disneyland Resort’s classic attraction and original artwork by Mary Blair.  The floor even has a blue “river” running down the middle.  The nursery is filled with hands-on features that will keep the kids busy for hours, such as horns to honk, wheels to spin, and buttons to press. Kids will enjoy the crafts, books, and games and love sitting at tables that are just their size.  There is a second room that is kept dimly lit and calm, perfect for naptime.

There are a maximum of four infants (those not yet walking) and 16 toddlers allowed, depending on the number of counselors on hand. Parents are required to provide their own diapers/Pull-Ups, baby wipes, extra clothing/pajamas, pre-made bottles of milk/formula labeled with the child’s name, baby food in jars, sippy cups, and security items such as blankets, pacifiers, or a favorite toy. Parents will need to keep a close eye on the chat feature in the DCL app so they can be reached in case of a medical or emotional need. Caregivers are not qualified to administer medication, but a trained CPR/First Aid crew member is present at all times.

“it’s a small world” Nursery must be reserved in advance. 10 hours’ worth of reservations can be made online up to:

  • 120 days in advance for Concierge and Platinum Castaway Club Guests
  • 105 days in advance for Gold Castaway Club Guests
  • 90 days in advance for Silver Castaway Club Guests
  • 75 days in advance for First-Time Cruisers

You can also make or alter your reservations during the open house on Embarkation Day on a first-come, first-served basis. Because space is extremely limited, book your child’s nursery stay as soon as possible. Additional times may be added later based on availability.

Each day from 8:00 – 9:00 am, parents may join their toddlers in the nursery for family playtime. This may be a good way to introduce nervous children to their new surroundings.

OCEANEER CLUB   (ages 3-10) | Dream, Fantasy, Magic, Wish, and Wonder

vibe on disney cruise

The Oceaneer Club is the place where your kids will want to spend all their time on a Disney Cruise. The fantastical decor will transport them to the wonderful world of fairies, monsters, toys, and undersea journeys. The Club and Lab are connected with a secure, kids-only hallway, so children can go between the two areas freely.

The Club is set up with a central rotunda as the hub, and the other rooms branch off from there. The rotunda’s ceiling is covered with constellations of Disney characters. A stage allows kids to express their creativity and storytelling, plus is the perfect place to host the Disney characters when they visit! A large-screen plasma TV show movies and occasionally allows Crush the turtle to come to visit and chat with the kids!

There are activities featuring some of your favorite Disney characters, including friends from Disney Junior . Kids can become doctors at Doc McStuffins ‘ Toy Hospital, build cars during Mickey Mouse and the Roadster Racers, have a tea party while they Fancy It Yourself with Fancy Nancy , or show their moves at the Dancelvania Dance Party with Vampirina .

The Oceaneer Club on the Disney Wish is going to be a bit different from the other ships. Firstly, parents will be able to check their children in from the Grand Hall on deck 3 and then send them “down the rabbit hole” on a twisting slide that lands directly and securely into the central hub… how cool is that?! This space on the Disney Wish will include Marvel Super Hero Academy – a high-tech facility for training the next generation of heroes; Fairytale Hall – a royal trio of activity rooms inspired by Rapunzel, Belle, and  Frozen  friends; and Walt Disney Imagineering Lab – a unique opportunity for kids to discover the secrets of world-renowned Disney Imagineers. Rounding out Disney’s Oceaneer Club are two brand-new spaces –  Star Wars : Cargo Bay and Mickey and Minnie Captain’s Deck . You can learn more and see photos of each of the spaces on our Disney Wish page .

SCUTTLE’S COVE (ages 3-12)

On Castaway Cay , a special kid’s play area called Scuttle’s Cove is open from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm. On this day, kids can ONLY be checked into the club at Scuttle’s Cove – there is no onboard program until after 4:00 pm. Plenty of fun activities are planned, including a “dig” and treasure hunt. Parents can be assured that Scuttle’s Cove is not near the water and that the counselors will not take kids checked into the program on Castaway Cay. Lunch will be served at Scuttle’s Cove as well. Parents and children must check in and out at the desk and their security is of the utmost importance here.

OCEANEER LAB   (ages 3-10) | Dream, Fantasy, and Magic

Imagination rules at this play space that’s dedicated to exploration, where children   are invited to play inventive games, perform wacky experiments, and participate in all kinds of educational activities amid distinctly themed rooms.

Disney’s Oceaneer Lab will take kids on a great adventure full of maps, constellations, and even a stage for all of their greatest performances! This stage is one of the main gathering spaces in the Lab – perfect for kids to listen to stories and act out their own. Individual computer stations will allow them to enjoy interactive games. Disney movies will be shown on the 103-inch plasma TV; animated characters will come to life on this screen and interact with the kids. The main room is also the beginning of a ship-wide adventure where kids will become explorers and hunt for clues. On ships where both are present, the Club and Lab are connected with a secure, kids-only hallway, so children can go between the two areas freely.

vibe on disney cruise

EDGE   (ages 11-14) | Dream, Fantasy, Magic, Wish, and Wonder

Edge is the “tween” club – only kids ages 11 – 14 can enter! It has a great location on Deck 13 inside the Forward Funnel on the Dream and Fantasy. On the Magic and Wonder, it is located on Deck 9, Midship.  Edge is decorated in bright colors and retro decor.

Dream and Fantasy

Disney knows how much kids love technology, and Edge is full of it!  There are individual computer stations with notebook computers available to play games and access a special onboard social media application designed just for them. With this application, kids can leave each other messages and post photos and videos for their new onboard friends.

Kids can create their own photo postcards and star in video karaoke using green-screen technology.

One whole wall of the club is an 18-foot long, 5-foot tall video wall, perfect for video games and watching movies. This video wall can be used as one large screen or separated into any combination of individual screens.

Ready for a dance party at any time, there is a lighted dance floor with colored lights on the ceiling. A 10-foot video screen comes down from the ceiling to provide music video backgrounds and lighting effects.

One of the great things about Edge’s location in the funnel is the views of the pool decks below. The windows are made so that kids can see out, but guests on the decks can’t see in. Another cool feature is that the AquaDuck water coaster winds through the funnel and three portholes in Edge give silhouetted views of the riders as they zip through the funnel.

vibe on disney cruise

Magic and Wonder:

Located on Deck 9 midship, Edge is a tweens-only space open from 9:00 am – midnight daily.

Tweens can play video games, sing karaoke, watch TV, and use the computer lab. The space is filled with couches for hanging out, arts and crafts tables, and flat-screen TVs. Counselors will keep the kids busy until midnight with activities such as:

  • Pizza Perfection Answer trivia questions to win pizza toppings and create the perfect pizza. After the game is over, the pizzas are cooked and shared by all.
  • Road Tour Embark on a jammin’ scavenger hunt throughout the ship as you work to gather stamps to fill your rock ‘n’ roll passport by solving music-themed brain teasers and puzzles.
  • A Pirate’s Life for Me Arrr you pirate enough? Compete in physical challenges and answer trivia questions about ye olde time scalawags and buccaneers in this game to see who will claim the infamous pearl.

vibe on disney cruise

At Edge, tweens ages 11 to 14 will have fun, make friends and play games in a bright, colorful hangout inspired by a chic New York City loft. A faux-grass picnic area and graphic art displays called “photo walls” will provide ample opportunities for tweens to capture cool, shareable vacation pics that will be the envy of their friends back home.

Located on deck 5, the exclusive entrance to Edge will be hidden behind a framed piece of art that reimagines world-famous paintings in a pop art-inspired compilation of Disney characters, including Minnie as the ‘Girl with the Pearl Earring’ and Donald as Salvador Dali.

VIBE   (ages 14-17) | Dream, Fantasy, Magic, Wish, and Wonder

Vibe is exclusively for teens ages 14-17. Located on Deck 5 forward on the Dream and Fantasy and Deck 11 midship on the Magic, this 9,000 square-foot club is hip yet casual. All the furniture is modular, allowing teens to move it around and lounge wherever they want.

Technology reigns at Vibe, and the central area of the space is a media room, complete with a 103-inch LCD screen with digital surround sound, perfect for watching movies and playing video games. Computer stations allow access to a special onboard social media application designed just for them. With this application, kids can leave each other messages and post photos and videos for their new onboard friends.

The room’s walls are lined with built-in oval seats made to look like portholes. These nooks are perfect for hanging out and watching TV, reading, or listening to music.

A dance club area lets teens test out their DJ skills, spinning and mixing tracks for the dance party. The floor is lit with colorful lights and features a video wall. A stage plays host to talent shows, karaoke contests, and dance competitions.

Just like the adult clubs, Vibe offers a fountain bar serving non-alcoholic drinks, such as soda, juice, smoothies, and coffee drinks.

On the Dream and Fantasy, the fun doesn’t stop inside the club. A private deck area outside means teens never have to leave!  Chairs and loungers are great for sunbathing, and when the sun gets too hot, there are two wading pools, fountains, jets, and misters to help cool you down. If sunbathing isn’t your thing, ping pong and foosball are available as well.
