2016 Srixon AD333 Tour

GM verdict: This is a product that does exactly what it promises. On approach shots and around the green it feels and performs a lot like the brand's premium Z-Star ball. It produced impressive spin on approach shots, and felt great off the face of a wedge and putter. Interestingly, the feel on full shots was slightly firmer off the face, more like the standard AD333. Durability is also good for a ball with a urethane cover. The Spin Skin coating proved effective at controlling both the spin and distance from any area around the green. From the teeing area, the AD333 Tour feels explosive at impact. The ball gives a more penetrating flight, so I was able to control the trajectory more consistently, particularly in windy conditions.

The short game performance of the Srixon AD333 Tour is very impressive. As soon as you move from premium to mid price range golf balls, you often notice a drop off in short game control and a firmer feel off the face of your wedge and putter. This is not the case here. The ball checks on the second bounce as you'd expect from a much more expensive offering.

Faster swingers might notice a little too much spin. However, it is important to say that this was something we did not detect during our extensive testing.

Golf Monthly's digital editor Neil Tappin reviews the second generation of the Srixon AD333 Tour golf ball, which offers premium performance at an affordable price tag

Key technology: Srixon AD333 Tour

The 2016 update carries the same name as the 2014 AD333 Tour , but now launches higher and spins less for longer distance on all shots. That was possible thanks to a new Energetic Gradient Growth core that is five compression points softer to aid distance and deliver a softer feel. With a firm outer layer that softens towards the centre, the core is precisely cured at different temperatures to achieve stiffness variations in a design that aids long-term durability and consistent power distribution from shot-to-shot. The three-piece ball is covered by a thin and soft Urethane cover thats aids overall softness by 21% compared to the previous AD333 Tour to improve feedback off the face.

Full Srixon AD 333 Tour Review

The 2016 version of the Srixon AD333 Tour continues the franchise nicely. The long game performance is solid - any player, no matter what you swing speed will see good distance and a strong flight. You would expect that from a traditional golf ball brand. Where this really comes into its own is with the spin around the greens. The ball checks on the second bounce in exactly the way you would expect from a premium priced golf ball.

Srixon UltiSoft review

If you are looking to test a new ball and perhaps don't want to pay the hefty price tag attached to a premium ball, this is a must. The short game control is simply superb and whilst the cover offers plenty of spin and feel, there appeared no drop off in durability.

Will suit... players with average swing speeds after plenty of spin around the greens.

SRIXON says its new AD333 Tour ball, which we were afforded a first look at in sunny Orlando at the PGA Show two weeks ago, heralds a new era of choice.

Why? Because this exceptionally classy 3-piece ball has been designed specially for golfers who don't possess Tour level swing speeds but who are looking for many characteristics that a Tour ball provides.

srixon ad333 tour boll

PGA Show video review: Srixon AD333 Tour ball

Building on the success of the AD333 brand, the UK’s number one 2-piece golf ball since 2007, and with a tour-inspired design, the AD333 Tour’s 3-piece construction features a super-soft urethane cover.

This makes the AD333 Tour ball the ideal option for ambitious players looking to take their game to the next level with a ball that gives Tour-level precision by combining distance, control and feel.

For those of you confused about what a 3-piece ball is, and whether it's right for you, here's a quick chemistry lesson...

It's a bit like a 2-piece ball in the sense it has a solid rubber core. The cover on a 3-piece is a soft, synthetic plastic, much softer than that on 2-piece allowing slightly better golfers to impart spin on the ball in order to control it through the air and on the greens.

The third piece of the construction comes in between the core and cover. A layer of enhanced liquid rubber is added around the core adding another layer to the design and increasing the spin that is placed on the ball.

And breathe...

First things first, I love the fresh new look of the Srixon AD333 Tour. It's bold and in your face with the Srixon stamp at the front and neat AD333 Tour logo on the side, which I think aids terrific alignment especially when putting. It just inspires confidence when placing it on a tee peg. The black, white and blue sleeve also looks very neat.

In terms of feel, AD333 Tour delivers everything I'd expect, especially when learning more about the ball's new Spin Skin Technology proprietary coating as first produced on the brand's successful Z-STAR range.

According to Cleveland Golf/Srixon's Product Manager Dean Cracknell, Spin Skin Technology improves friction between ball and club surface by as much as 20% for added feel and better control with the scoring clubs. I quickly saw that for myself when looking closer at my wedge shot data.

Carry distance with the 52-degree was as expected at around the 100-yard mark but spin rate was pleasingly up to around 9,700rpm from my normal 9,000. Not quite a 20% increase in spin but plenty for me to get excited about! Even placing balls in the rough out on the course, balls tended to drop and stop much better than I'd anticipate from a 3-piece.

Video Interview: Golfmagic chats to Soren Kjeldsen about the new Srixon AD333 Tour and AD333 balls

I wouldn't say I'd increased too much driver distance with the AD333 Tour, with drives averaging around the 220-yard carry mark but they certainly ran out well by some 35 yards to around the 255-yard mark on average. I hit the ball relatively low anyway so I tend to get few scampers.

Low driver spin was ascertained thanks to Srixon's new and advanced 344 speed dimple pattern that promotes the low driver spin, as well as the company's innovative Energetic Gradient Growth Core Technology that gives the core a firmer outer region that becomes progressively softer toward the centre.

Right now, you need a ball that delivers in the wind, and the AD333 Tour delivers on that front too. The soft mid layer combined with those 344 dimples helps to generate a consistent, penetrating ball flight no matter the weather conditions. I felt like I could play low shots under the wind with ease and knew that if I did want to hit a high towering wedge with wind off the right, the ball would do exactly as I intended it to.

For me, AD333 Tour is a ball for players of all abilities. If you're looking to upgrade to the AD333 Tour or AD333 balls this year, I'd certainly recommend getting yourself custom fit to either ball to ensure you're playing the correct ball for your game.

AD333 Tour is solid off the tee, looks and sounds great, but it's the opportunity to create added spin that gets me most excited here and the Spin Skin Technology, I believe, separates this ball from its rivals in the 3-piece market right now.

It's one of the softest feeling balls I've played for some time with a wedge in hand and I'd be more than happy to stick a sleeve of black and blue in the bag this year. I also thought it felt nice and soft off the putter face and gave me ideal feedback when hitting one off the heel or toe. It's a nice 'pop' off the face and that only inspires confidence, especially with the alignment aid I mentioned earlier.

Retailing March 1 at RRP £36 and in Pure White only, AD333 Tour represents decent value for money, too. Well worth a look if you're looking to get involved with Srixon this season.

Srixon AD333 vs Q Star Tour Golf Balls: Are they Really Different?

When you select a good quality golf ball , you make your club happy. You know, the opposite is also true. You want a ball that when you hit with your club gives you maximum distance.

Not only that can barely cover a yard. Another consideration you want to pay attention to is the core because it determines the control you have on your ball.

A softer ball, as opposed to a firm one, will give you better control and you’ll feel you’re in control of your game.

Though the five-piece and four-piece golf balls host all the latest developments that enhance performance, you don’t always have to buy one (they’re more expensive) before you can enjoy your game.

If you’ve decided to go with either the Srixon AD333 or the Srixon Q-Star Tour, then you’re on the right track. They’re not awfully expensive but are good enough especially if you’re just trying to up your game and don’t want to spend too much.

Srixon AD333 vs Q Star Tour: Are they Really Different?

Srixon q-star tour golf balls review.

Srixon AD333 vs Q Star

Today, there is a wide variety of brands and many models of golf balls, so if you are thinking of acquiring a golf ball, it is essential to choose one from a remarkable brand.

Srixon is one of the most recognized in this market because it only manufactures high-quality products. And a clear example of this is the Srixon Q Star Tour Golf Balls .

The Srixon Q Star Tour Golf Ball is an excellent tour-level ball, developed for all types of players, and at an affordable price.

In this section, we will talk about all its features to understand why it is a great choice.

As mentioned above, Srixon is a brand known for making durable premium products, and this is no exception.

This golf ball has great durability because it is built with 2-piece construction, and the cover material is Ionomer. Without a doubt, a ball that meets the standards.

This ball is excellent for long distances, as it has a 338 Speed Dimple Pattern, this allows the ball to have more lift and less resistance, so you can have more control and reach longer shots.

The Srixon Q Star Tour Golf Ball is a low-spin ball, as Srixon has added a new design to this model, new spin skin with SeRM. This allows for greater accuracy on every shot, as it helps keep the ball in the direction we want it to go.

The feel of this golf ball is really soft thanks to its FastLayer core. It may not be as smooth as its compression rating of 77 would suggest, but it is very soft. Also, the outer edge is firm, allowing for good speeds for the ball to reach long distances.

This golf ball has a fantastic design, worthy of a Tour ball. It has a very good consistency of diameter and weight, which helps to have great precision and reach longer shots.

This is the best value golf ball on the Tour, currently priced at a good price tag so grab it as soon as you can. If we compare the price of other tour golf balls with similar characteristics to this one, it is much higher.

As you can see, you can enjoy playing with a tour golf ball without having to spend a lot of money. Therefore, the  Srixon Q Star Tour Golf Balls  are a great option because they are high-quality, and you can play with them for a long time.

Srixon AD333 Tour Golf Ball Review

Srixon AD333 vs Q Star

To be honest, I lost the first ball before noticing any damage.

I started hitting the second one to test how many blows it resisted.

At approximately 100mph on average, the ball held me more than 100 blows without a problem. So the most normal thing is you end up straining it into a lake or lose sight of it sooner.

That for the duration they are fine.

The difference with the 2016 Ad333 is especially noticeable in the short game (and especially when kicking, due to the Urethane cover).

I don’t lose distance with the 2018 Ad333, and I feel more comfortable in the short game. It shows, especially with the driver, with which I achieved greater distance.

The control is good when I hit the iron, the backspin increases compared to the 2016 version, this reduces the distance a bit, but the given backspin dramatically increases the control over the ball.

With the driver, I increased a bit, but the sidespin was practically reduced, which also improved my control over the ball.

For me, the feel has a lot to do with how I see the ball reacting to my hit or the sensations that the hit causes me about how the hit was really. That said, the feel was decent.

As I said, the control was good with medium spin. Also, the ball in the hit does not feel very hard, quite the opposite, it is like hitting a rubber (in a good way).

It has three layers of rubber that in a way feels firmer the more you hit the center. The exterior is typical white plastic with dimples for air resistance.

Ball flight

As a general rule, hitting the ball shows that with the iron it moves more laterally than with the driver, due to the sidespin, and the trajectory that follows is a bit lower than for example the 2016 AD333.

In short, for value for money, they are quite decent balls. Better balls obviously exist. But for the price they have, you won’t find many balls this good.

Srixon AD333 vs Q Star Tour: Comparison

There is a negligible difference between the two. read on to find out….

While they have a lot of things in common, there are a few differences between them. Before we go into the comparison, however, it’s important to know that the Q-star is actually a replacement for the AD333.

In other words, production of the AD333 will stop while Q-star will continue. If you’re reading this now, you probably will never be able to select as you will — your only option will be to go with the Q star or the tour version of the ball.

In addition to that, if you read the label on the box, you’ll quickly find that both balls have the same spec so the Q Star is essentially a new AD333.

Those who tested the two find that the Q Star softer and easier to stop than the AD333. Other golfers stated they found no difference except in the cost. In which case the Q Star being the more expensive between the two.

Moscow metro tour: architectural styles of the subway.

srixon ad333 tour boll

Duration: 2 hours

Categories: Culture & History, Sightseeing

This metro tour of Russia’s capital and most populous city, Moscow, is your chance to get a unique insight into the beautiful and impressive architecture of the city's underground stations. Admire their marble walls and high ceilings representing Stalin's desire for glory after World War 2, and see first-hand how the interiors change with the rise of new political eras. Your guide will lead you through the complex network, which is one of the most heavily used rapid transit systems worldwide, with over two billion travelers in 2011.

Opened in 1935, Moscow’s underground system, now 190 miles (305 km) long with 185 stations, is today one the largest and most heavily used rapid transit systems in the world. On this Moscow metro tour, discover the impressive architecture of Moscow’s underground stations and learn how they reflect the Soviet era.

Getting around by metro, your local guide will take you through parts of Moscow’s infamous history. Stop at stations built during the time of the USSR (Soviet Union) that are praised as one of the most extravagant architectural projects from Stalin’s time. After World War 2, he was keen on establishing Stalinist architecture to represent his rising regime and a recognized empire. Learn how when his successor started the de-Stalinization of the former Soviet Union in 1953, the extravagancy of the architecture was toned down.

Discover how the unique character of each station reflected several different eras. While stations like Kievskaya and Slavyansky Bulvar have pompous halls and high stucco ceilings brimming with extravagant decorations, those built later, like Volzhskaya, are lightly adorned with sparse furnishings. Architect Alexey Dushkin and painter Alexander Deyneka were just two of the many artists who made these magnificent landmarks possible.

Revel in Moscow's glory days, as well as the years of scarcity, on this fascinating Moscow metro experience. Conclude your tour at one of the central stations in Moscow. If you're lucky, you may even find the secret entrance to the unconfirmed Metro-2, a parallel underground system used by the government -- a mystery which has neither been denied nor confirmed today.

Srixon launch AD333 Tour ball

Published: 15 January 2014

Srixon is hoping to build on the success of its AD333 golf ball by launching the AD333 Tour, a three-piece model aimed at golfers that want a long, softer-feeling mid-price offering. It boasts many of the features found in Srixon’s premium Tour ball, the Z-STAR, including an EGG core, Speed Dimple and Spin Skin coating.

Srixon believe this ball opens up a new era of choice for the consumer and aims to take advantage of around 10 per cent of the ball market with this new model. The AD333 ball has been the best-selling two-piece ball since 2007 and this is the first three-piece AD333 model brought to market.

“We developed the AD333 Tour to offer the aspiring club player a 3-piece option with characteristics of a Tour-type product,” said Dean Cracknell, Cleveland Golf/Srixon Product Manager. “The construction has been tailored to accommodate a wide cross-section of golfers – that may not possess the skill-set of a Tour Professional.”

Srixon’s Energetic Gradient Growth (EGG) core technology has been a staple for the company for many years. It means the solid rubber core has a varying stiffness profile, where it’s soft in the middle and harder at the perimeter. This creates a spin separation between clubs – less with the driver, more with the irons and wedges.

Srixon’s Spin Skin was created using feedback from tour players, who were seeking more spin on partial approach shots from rough. A blended, highly resilient soft mid layer improves friction between the golf ball and club surface by as much as 20% for added feel and control.

The Speed dimple is an increased occupancy ratio of dimples on the surface, up to 344 dimples from 333. These strategically placed extra 11 dimples reduces coefficient of drag, making the ball more unyielding in the wind for a more stable ball flight. The AD333 Tour uses a more premium urethane cover rather than ionomer, which adds to the softer feel.

Details: Available March 1st, 2014. RRP £36.00 per dozen.

Opened in 1935, under Stalin’s regime, the metro was not only meant to solve transport problems, but also was hailed as “a people’s palace”. Every station you will see during your Moscow metro tour looks like a palace room. There are bright paintings, mosaics, stained glass, bronze statues… Our Moscow metro tour includes the most impressive stations best architects and designers worked at - Ploshchad Revolutsii, Mayakovskaya, Komsomolskaya, Kievskaya, Novoslobodskaya and some others.

What is the kremlin in russia?

The guide will not only help you navigate the metro, but will also provide you with fascinating background tales for the images you see and a history of each station.

And there some stories to be told during the Moscow metro tour! The deepest station - Park Pobedy - is 84 metres under the ground with the world longest escalator of 140 meters. Parts of the so-called Metro-2, a secret strategic system of underground tunnels, was used for its construction.

During the Second World War the metro itself became a strategic asset: it was turned into the city's biggest bomb-shelter and one of the stations even became a library. 217 children were born here in 1941-1942! The metro is the most effective means of transport in the capital.

There are almost 200 stations 196 at the moment and trains run every 90 seconds! The guide of your Moscow metro tour can explain to you how to buy tickets and find your way if you plan to get around by yourself.
