Here's How to Find Your Vin
What is a vin.
A VIN is a Vehicle Identification Number. It is a 17-character alphanumeric identifier or a manufacturer’s serial number. Each character in the VIN number has a significant meaning. Together, they create a number that provides information about the vehicle and its unique history.
Where is the VIN located?
The VIN can be found on the VIN plate located on the driver's side of the dashboard just below the windshield (1). The VIN can also be found on the driver-side doorframe label (2), as well as on documents related to the vehicle's registration, title and insurance.

Dodge Journey Recalled to Fix Reflectors
The amber reflectors don’t meet federal safety standards
Dodge is recalling over 83,000 Journey SUVs from the 2017 and 2018 model years to replace front side reflectors that don’t meet federal safety standards.
The amber indicator reflectors that are part of the Journey’s headlight assembly do not meet the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) 108, which determines how much light a reflector should shine back. As a result, other drivers may have trouble seeing the Journey at night.
The automaker first became aware of the problem in 2018 after an audit by Canadian regulators. The results showed that the reflectors did not reflect enough light to meet U.S. safety standards. Dodge petitioned the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration in 2019, arguing that the defect was inconsequential and did not require a recall, but NHTSA denied the petition in September. As a result, the vehicles are being recalled.
Dodge is currently working on a fix for the problem, and says there have been no crashes or injuries as a result of the recall.

The Details
Vehicles recalled: Dodge Journey SUVs manufactured between Aug. 2, 2017, and July 6, 2018.
The problem: The amber reflectors in the Journey’s headlight assembly do not reflect back enough light to meet federal safety standards.
The fix: Dodge says it is still working on a fix for the problem.
How to contact the manufacturer: Dodge will contact owners of affected vehicles by mail starting Nov. 8, 2022. Owners may also contact Dodge at 800-853-1403.
NHTSA campaign number: 22V723. Dodge’s own number for this recall is Z99.
Check to see whether your vehicle has an open recall: NHTSA’s website will tell you whether your vehicle has any open recalls that need to be addressed.
If you plug your car’s 17-digit vehicle identification number (VIN) into NHTSA’s website and a recall doesn’t appear, it means your vehicle doesn’t currently have any open recalls. Because automakers issue recalls often, and for many older vehicles, we recommend checking back regularly to see whether your vehicle has had a recall issued.

Safety Ratings.
NHTSA’s 5-Star Safety Ratings help consumers compare vehicle safety when searching for a car. More stars mean safer cars.
Combines driver and front passenger frontal barrier ratings into a single frontal rating.
The frontal barrier test simulates a head-on collision between two similar vehicles. The test vehicle is crashed into a flat, rigid barrier at 35 mph.
Combines side barrier and side pole ratings into a single side rating.
The combined front seat rating is based on the front seat ratings of the side barrier and side pole tests. The combined rear seat rating is based on the rear seat side barrier star rating.
The side barrier test simulates an intersection collision between two vehicles. A moving non-rigid barrier, angled at 27 degrees, is crashed into the driver’s side of the test vehicle at 38.5 mph.
The side pole test simulates a vehicle colliding into a fixed object like a tree or utility pole. The test vehicle, angled at 75 degrees, is crashed into a rigid pole at 20 mph.
The rollover resistance test measures the risk of rollover in a single-vehicle, loss-of-control scenario.

Stellantis recalls 1.2 million Ram trucks to fix software bug that can disable stability control
September 7, 2024 / 9:20 AM EDT / CBS/AP
Stellantis is recalling more than 1.2 million Ram pickup trucks in the U.S. to fix a software problem that can disable the electronic stability control system.
The recall covers certain trucks from 2029 and 2021 through 2025 models of the Ram 1500 trucks. The recall also affects more than 233,161 vehicles in Canada, Mexico and certain markets outside of North America.
The auto manufacturer said in a statement on Saturday the trucks may have anti-lock brake software that could inadvertently shut down the stability control, which manages the throttle and brakes to avoid skidding.
If that happens, the brakes would still work, Stellantis said.
The company said it's not aware of any crashes or injuries from the problem.
U.S. safety standards require electronic stability control to work during nearly all phases of driving, the company says.
Dealers will update software to fix the problem at no cost to owners, who will be notified by letters starting Oct. 3.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration also announced Saturday that Stellantis is recalling 32,863 Jeep Gladiator vehicles manufactured between 2020-2024. The company is also recalling Jeep Wrangler vehicles manufactured between 2018 and 2024 as the instrument panel cluster in the vehicles may experience an internal short circuit, according to Reuters .
These are the latest in a series of recalls for Stellantis this year.
In March, Stellantis also recalled thousands of Dodge Charger and Chrysler 300 cars because of a manufacturing defect that could cause airbags to rupture, spraying metal fragments around the cabin. In February, the company recalled more than 338,000 Jeep Grand Cherokees because of a ball joint issue that could result in a loss of control by the driver, potentially leading to a crash.
In July, Stellanis recalled 332,000 Alfa Romeo, Fiat and Jeep vehicles because sensors on their seat belt connectors are not working properly. The company said at the time it had received at least 578 reports about the faulty sensor but isn't aware of any accidents or injuries related to the issue.
A month earlier, the automaker recalled almost 1.2 million vehicles in North America to fix a software glitch that can disable the rearview cameras. The recall covered Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep and Ram pickup trucks and SUVs.

Software problem spurs recall of 1.2M Ram pickups in the U.S.
Sept. 7 (UPI) -- A software problem that affects the electronic stability control system on Ram 1500 pickups forced automaker Stellantis to recall more than 1.2 million models.
The recall includes certain Ram 1500 pickups built in 2019 and 2021 through 2024. The software problem can disable the electronic stability control systems on affected vehicles.
"A routine review of customer feedback led to a company investigation that discovered some 2019 and 2021-2024 Ram 1500 trucks may be equipped with ABS module software that could inadvertently disable the electronic stability control system," Stellantis said in a statement announcing the recall.
A free software update available through local dealerships will fix the problem, Stellantis said when announcing the recall Saturday.
The issue won't disable the brakes and Stellantis officials are unaware of any accidents or injuries due to the problem.
The recall targets more than 1.2 million pickups in the United States and 233,161 in Canada, Mexico and other markets outside the United States.
Federal regulations require electronic stability control systems to work on vehicles equipped with them.
In June , Stellantis recalled 211,581 SUVs and pickup trucks in the United States, also because of a software problem involving the stability control system.
The recall affects the 2022 Dodge Durango, Ram 2500 and Ram 3500 vehicles.

very satisfied so far, speedy service and customer friendly, This is my 3rd one in the past year, the last 2 were purchased from a Florida re-builder and both times they failed within 3 months. there prices were higher and there turn around time between 6 to 9 weeks.
A local shop wanted to charge me $4,500 to install a new TIPM, I removed mine and sent it in to Module Masters. They repaired it and had it back to me in a week and I was able to install it and get back on the road!
After reinstalling my Module Master rebuilt TIPM, everything electrical is working correctly!! Thanks so much for a quality job!

That's a lot of data, maybe to much?
For your I-130 I would prepare 4 folders and a cover page.
1. All the docs that are actually requested on their website, the one you hand them.
2. All your original docs.
3. All copies of your original docs.
4. All of your extras..
I'd be worried if you hand them to much they may just hand it back to you. If you give them the requested docs and a cover page that lists all the extras you have with you. Then they can just ask you for what they want. I believe that would ease the process..
That's what I did for my wife's interview and it worked very well. I'm not sure if your interview process is the same but if it is do the same again for it.

Continued application in 2022…
Wow that's a lot, we didn't even send in half of that. But since you ve been living apart ever since its good to show enough proof I guess. Maybe go with the quality over quantity? A couple of selected pictures and letters etc rather than allllll the pictures and allllll the letters and alllll the messages? Remember they have to look through the paperwork. So if you give them unnecessarily much they ll be spending forever on going through it all I have no idea if Moscow is a place you have to front load in though....maybe someone here knows?
it sounds like a lot, but really we only have 1-2 pictures, 2 tickets and one or two hotel reservations per trip. We just took a lot of trips:))) The only exception is our wedding and his trips to the US - where we have like 3-5 photos.
Also, I am not sending all messages - just one page with a screenshot of total number of pages and messages. I don't have the same ability for
Skype, so yeah, that one is big. But no personal messages - just a log of dates and times.
Other docs are financial stuff which they like.Since we don't live together, the only thing I have are trips...
What would you call "quality" in my case?
P.S. yes, in Moscow you apply with all your stuff upfront, prove your relationship and then the beneficiary has an easy interview.
That's the idea. The problem is, all my docs fit into these 4 folders:
I130 and G325A are required, as well as my passport, our marriage and divorce certificates and papers to establish domicile in the US and residency in Russia. On the website it says I have to have an application, docs to prove eligibility to file and evidence of bona fide marriage. That's what I have.
If it's too much, what would you exclude? We don't have joint property or leases and other things married and living together people do... the only realy proof we have are our trips and communication with each other.
Did you mean "That's the idea. The problem is, all my docs won't fit into these 4 folders: ?
It sounds like your process is different than ours and possibly you do everything at one appointment but still the question remains, will they look through what you have and give you the opportunity to offer more?

Well, 1-2 pictures of every trip (18) you've been on all the tickets, all the reservations etc.. That just sounds like a looooot. I think they get the gist if you bring a few pictures not every single trip illustrated with pictures, do you know what I mean?
I think for example pictures with family is quality. Just select them thinking as the CO. Do they show family, do they show "a life together". I would for example sent a picture with my whole family celebrating a birthday/Christmas/wedding. Just generally pictures that stand for something rather than a flood of selfies. But I guess that's just my opinion. I m not very familiar with immigration either.
Your process does seem different than how it is for example in Germany. And looking at your signature you've been through it before and probably know more about it than me.
But with front loading I meant that there is "high fraud countries" that have high denial rates etc (I think Nigeria for example is one). From what I've read filing in a country like that you are supposed to front load your case - put in ALL the evidence you have. I don't know if Moscow is one of those embassies but I don't really think so.
Did you mean "That's the idea. The problem is, all my docs won't fit into these 4 folders: ? If that's the case then get a large folder (or box) with many smaller folders for your extras. It sounds like your process is different than ours and possibly you do everything at one appointment but still the question remains, will they look through what you have and give you the opportunity to offer more?
No, I meant that all my evidence fits into 4 general categories you listed. I didn't think you are talking about a physical folder:))) But yes, I sorted everything, labeled, put tabs on each piece of evidence and made a full copy of each package.
in Moscow a petitioner shows up for an infopass appointment with I-130 and all supporting documents. Beneficiary accompanies the petitioner. The officer looks at the documents and if they are acceptable (i.e the petitioner is eligible to apply and has all necessary paperwork like passport, application and g-325A), the petitioner pays the fee and this first package is sent for review inside the consulate. Then they schedule an interview for the spouse and so on. If some documents are missing, they will send an RFE , but in general a petitioner is supposed to bring proofs of eligibility and bona fide marriage to this first appointment. The officer may ask for some documents during the interview, like a note from the housing department or a copy of something or I don't even know what, and give an opportunity to mail it in without a formal RFE .
I am not sure if they want all supporting documents handed to them or what, but I will have all of it ready, but some labeled as extra.
Good luck with your interview! I am sure you are veeery well prepared Also, if you do everything in one day I guess I d just take everything with you in a folder and hand in a selection and if they want or need to see more you can give them all the things you have with you.
haha, hell yeah I am prepared! Even over-prepared. Thank you!
When I think about it, our life together is made of trips and messages... that's why we printed it all.
I labeled everything and I will have it all with me, some as primary (tickets and hotels) some as secondary. I will offer the officer a photo album I put together, and they can keep it if they want to. If they don't want to keep it, I will offer them a few photos for the future, and we'll go from there.
I have never applied at the consulate - all my immigration interviews were held at the field office in the US, and it was the same thing: mail as much stuff as you can, then gather more while waiting and bring it all in. I mentioned everything I had, but they didn't want to see all of it.
However, I saw that whatever I mailed is in my case folder, and it's huge))
We travel alone, and there is usually no one to help us with photos... so we have a tripod and a selfie stick and a camera with a display we can flip to see ourselves. Our selfies are hella sophisticated :-D
It sounds like our processes are similar.
On our first appointment only myself the petitioner was required to be there but I was glad I brought my wife. The woman was more comfortable speaking Tagalog ( her native language) than English which surprised me considering where we were so she spoke mainly with my wife once we got past the issue of who actually filled out the I-130 form which I insisted I did. She didn't seem to believe me but since I insisted she eventually let it go. She wanted some more proof of our bonafide marriage and since my wife was in charge of our folders again she questioned who did what. She finally gave in on that and sent me to the cashier while she got further proof (docs) from my wife.
The next step was getting our approval. It came in the form of an email (6 business days later) but it was our understanding they would be sending us a physical packet. That night I proceeded to the on-line DS-260 link in that email but I was discouraged I couldn't complete it. My wife and I disagreed over this "packet" but I insisted from the wording in the email that there would be no physical packet. I completed what I could on the DS-260 and saved it. Later that night I got to messing around with it and sure enough the case # and my wife's passport # allowed me to complete it. I printed out the receipt and the entire form just to be sure but when I tried to pay for it I was told the #'s I was using were incorrect. I thought great.. (problem).. but later learned since we were filing DCF all fees were to be paid at the consulate.
The approval email was titled Appointments.. So after considerable research I learned that indeed the next step was to make our appointment BUT we had to have our I-864 and All supporting docs for this my wife's interview ready also. She also had to get her medical done which she needed conformation of an interview appointment to get.
