It’s almost 2024, and in this day and age, there’s no doubt about it: We live in an era of smartwatches. Yes, there are tons of different options to choose from based on your needs and preferences. But, if there’s one model that rules the market, it would be the one and only Apple Watch.

Whether or not you already own an Apple Watch, it’s likely you know the Chiclet-shaped gadget pretty well. It’s essentially the definition of do-it-all wearable tech. It can track workouts, play music, and even help you locate your iPhone when you can’t remember where you put it. That said, for all of its innovative features and long list of uses, it’s not necessarily at the cutting edge of high-tech fashion trends .

Luckily, designers are adding a sartorial punch to Silicon Valley’s favorite accessory with custom bands that allow you to marry your watch with your personal style. We took into account customer reviews, versatility, style, and price when compiling this list. So, whether you need something simple (and undeniably functional) to pair with your favorite workout set , or something a bit more polished to elevate a cocktail dress , strap in and shop all of our picks for the best designer Apple watch bands below.

What to Keep in Mind

Your questions, answered, why shop with us.

InStyle / Alli Waataja

From stackable rings to chunky bracelets , you layer on the bling daily — so why leave your Apple Watch out? Whether you’re sporting the Series 9 or the Apple Watch Ultra 2 , there are plenty of ways to upgrade your most-worn tech accessory. Our favorite simple switch: Swapping out your band for a sleek option that also reflects your style.

“There are tips and tricks to make the watch look and feel more elevated,” says fashion stylist Audree Lopez . “To dress up the watch, you can swap out the silicone band and add a face cover.” With the right band, you can make your Apple Watch blend into almost any ensemble. To find the best bands on the market, we tapped Lopez and other experts for their favorite models and shopping advice. Our top picks range from everyday staples to dressy options.

Best Overall

Kate spade new york interchangeable stainless steel band.

What We Like: You can adjust the length in seconds.

What We Don’t Like: The clasp may not be very secure, so we don’t recommend it for working out.

This classic strap is our overall favorite because it’s easy to wear almost anywhere. The Kate Spade New York Interchangeable Stainless Steel Band comes in a wide range of finishes and styles, including silver, gold, rose gold, pavé, and pearl options that pair well with everything from your favorite jeans to breezy dresses.

We love that this band is easy to adjust, thanks to links that you can snap or unsnap in seconds. However, some wearers have found that the clasp isn’t very secure, so we don’t recommend this strap for working out or other high-impact activities. If you’re searching for an everyday Apple Watch band that’s simple, elegant, and versatile, Kate Spade wins our vote.

Size: Not listed | Material: Stainless steel | Compatibility: 38, 40, and 41 millimeters

Best Budget

Quince leather apple watch band.

What We Like: It’s made from high-end materials at a low-end price point.

What We Don’t Like: The leather may feel thin.

Luxe Apple Watch straps don’t have to break the bank. We like the Quince Leather Apple Watch Band because even though it looks pricey, it costs about five times less than our top overall pick does. Made from calf leather and stainless steel, it’s a reliable choice with a classic design that won’t go out of style.

We love the delicate stitching on either side of this band, which is bright white or monochromatic, depending on the color. And with ten shades to choose from, stocking up is simple — even if finding a favorite isn’t. Just note that the leather is on the thinner side, according to wearers.

Size: 5.6–7.9 inches | Material: Calf leather, stainless steel | Compatibility: 38, 40, 41, 42, 44, and 49 millimeters

Best Luxury

Hermès apple watch 41mm double tour.

What We Like: The two-tone braided design will turn heads.

What We Don’t Like: It’s not very long.

Searching for a designer option? The Apple Watch Hermés Navy Bridon Double Tour is our favorite luxury Apple Watch band. Made from strands of knitted nylon that are braided together by hand, it’s elegant and refined, for easy wearing at the office or special events .

Navy and burgundy colorways lend this strap a more masculine feel, although we think the design is versatile enough for most wearers. Plus, we like that the small Hermés logo on the buckle doesn’t interfere with the band’s striking pattern. Soft to the touch, durable, and unique, this strap is a solid investment you’ll wear daily and keep for years to come. We just wish it was longer, to fit more wrists.

Size: 5.1–6.1 inches | Material: Nylon | Compatibility: 38, 40, and 41 millimeters

Best Splurge

Michele silicone-wrapped bracelet band.

What We Like: It’s compatible with most Apple Watches, including the Apple Watch Ultra.

What We Don’t Like: The links are big, and you’ll need a jeweler to remove them.

Another splurge that’s definitely worth considering, the Michele Silicone-Wrapped Bracelet Band combines comfortable silicone and sleek stainless steel in one high-end strap. The neutral colors and lightweight design are ideal for everyday wear. Plus, the metal accents make it easy to dress up or down.

We also like that this band works for most Apple Watches, including the Apple Watch Ultra. Just note that you’ll have to take it to a jeweler to remove any extra links. Some wearers have also found that, since the links are big, it’s tougher to find the right fit. Still, we think this band is worth investing in if you’re looking for something that’s just as functional and modern as it is lightweight.

Size: Not listed | Material: Silicone, stainless steel | Compatibility: 38, 40, 41, 42, 44, 45, and 49 millimeters

Most Unique

Olivia burton rose gold with floral debossed detail mesh strap.

Olivia Burton

What We Like: Since it doesn’t have links, getting a precise fit is easy.

What We Don’t Like: If you need to make it smaller, you’ll have to take it to a jeweler.

If you’re all about statement pieces , the Olivia Burton Rose Gold With Floral Debossed Detail Mesh Strap is our top pick. This stainless steel Milanese band features a subtle floral print that sets it apart from others on our list. We love the rose gold tone, which can be tough to find, and the wide width that stands out on your wrist.

One of our favorite features is the sliding closure: Since this strap isn’t made up of links, it’s highly adjustable for a precise fit. But if you need to make it any smaller than the minimum length, you’ll need to visit a jeweler. A neutral that’s anything but boring, this unique strap looks striking alone or stacked with your favorite arm candy .

Best Leather

Barton apple leather stitching watch band.

What We Like: It’s budget-friendly and has a modern matte finish.

What We Don’t Like: The leather needs to be worn in and the colors may vary.

Budget-friendly and traditional, the Barton Apple Leather Stitching Watch Band is our favorite leather band. A quick-release knob makes swapping colors a breeze, while the inside of the strap is treated for a softer texture. The exterior features a matte finish that feels sophisticated, so your Apple Watch looks and feels more like a traditional timepiece .

There are plenty of colors to choose from, including more detailed options with contrast stitching. We also like that you can customize your buckle by selecting a silver or black finish. Good to know: Wearers have noticed that the leather needs to be worn-in over time for maximum comfort and that some of the colors may vary slightly.

Size: 5–9 inches | Material: Leather, stainless steel | Compatibility: 38, 40, 41, 42, 44, 45, and 49 millimeters

Best Alligator

Shinola black alligator strap for apple watch.

What We Like: The buckle is designed to match the finish of your Apple Watch.

What We Don’t Like: It only comes with silver hardware and there aren’t many colors.

When it comes to watches, Shinola reigns supreme — and their Black Alligator Strap for Apple Watch is no different. Made from alligator leather in your choice of Black or Cognac, this strap looks and feels ultra-luxe. We also love how much Shinola pays attention to detail, with stainless steel or gunmetal buckles that are designed to match your watch’s finish.

A metal adapter makes snapping on this strap a breeze. While it is pricey, we think it’s a worthy buy if you want a timeless band that’s built to last. We just wish there were gold hardware options or more colors to choose from.

Size: Not listed | Material: Alligator leather, stainless steel | Compatibility: 38, 40, 42, and 44 millimeters

Best Titanium

Nomad goods titanium band.

Nomad Goods

What We Like: It’s waterproof and won’t fall off of your wrist.

What We Don’t Like: It’s pricey and can be tough to adjust.

Durable and lightweight, the Nomad Goods Titanium Band is designed with both performance and style in mind. We like that it has a thin (but strong) magnetic clasp to keep it on your wrist. Plus, it comes with a tool you can use to add or remove links as needed.

Scratch-resistant and available in two colors, this Apple Watch band is our top pick for those who appreciate a bold look. It’s also waterproof — just make sure to rinse it off after wearing it in the ocean or the pool. Although it’s more expensive than many of our other picks, we think the additional cost is worth it if you need a band that’s extra tough. Note that it may take a few tries to adjust the length.

Size: 5.1–8.9 inches | Material: Titanium, stainless steel | Compatibility: 42, 44, 45, and 49 millimeters

Best Stainless Steel

Kendra scott alex 5 link watch band.

Kendra Scott

What We Like: Multiple mixed metal options mean you never have to worry about clashing.

What We Don’t Like: It may be too large for some wrists.

For an everyday stainless steel band, the Kendra Scott Alex 5 Link Watch Band is our top pick. We love that the simple design comes in a range of colors, including iridescent and mixed metal options. If you often switch between silver, gold, and rose gold jewelry, this band will always match your daily stack .

We love that Kendra Scott offers complimentary resizing for life, so this band can stay in your rotation for many OOTDs to come. A butterfly clasp and easy-release mechanism are also nice to have. Heads up: Even though this is one of the shorter bands on our list, some wearers have found that it’s still too long. We recommend measuring your wrist before buying, just in case.

Size: 5.6–7 inches | Material: Stainless steel | Compatibility: 38, 40, 41, 42, 44, and 45 millimeters

Best Unisex

Miohhr solid stainless steel band.

What We Like: This InStyle editor favorite is easy to adjust.

What We Don’t Like: The included watch face cover isn’t as high-quality as the band.

Loved by InStyle editors for its polished style and budget-friendly price tag, the MioHHR Solid Stainless Steel Band is our favorite unisex strap. After going viral on TikTok, this band still lives up to the hype, with easily removable links and over 8,000 five-star reviews on Amazon.

We like that the band has a nice weight to it and an elegant design that echoes many high-end watches on the market. There are also seven finishes to choose from, including black and two-tone options. We only wish the included plastic cover for your Apple Watch’s face felt as high-quality as the band itself.

Size: 5–7.6 inches | Material: Stainless steel | Compatibility: 38, 40, 41, 42, 44, 45, and 49 millimeters

Kate Spade New York Nylon 20mm Apple Watch Watchband

What We Like: It’s thicker and more substantial than other similar styles.

What We Don’t Like: It’s a little pricey for a nylon band.

Another top pick from Kate Spade New York, the Nylon 20mm Apple Watch Watchband stands out from other nylon straps for its high-quality design and fun colors. Some nylon bands can feel flimsy, but this model has a substantial width and weight to it for a more upscale feel.

Nylon is a great choice for light workouts or everyday wear because it’s durable and wipes clean. Plus, it’s compatible with all Apple Watch and Apple Watch Ultra models, meaning it’s not just low-maintenance in the care department. We love the bright green and pink colorways — well worth the extra investment if you’re searching for a nylon band you can wear day in and day out for seasons to come.

Size: Not listed | Material: Nylon, leather | Compatibility: 38, 40, 41, 42, 44, 45, and 49 millimeters

Best Silicone

Barton apple watch elite silicone watch band.

What We Like: The textured, two-tone design is more sophisticated than many other silicone options.

What We Don’t Like: It’s not reversible.

Basic silicone bands are useful when you want to wear your watch while working out. But we’ve finally found a more stylish option for sporting at the office or on the weekends. The Barton Apple Watch Elite Silicone Watch Band has a modern, two-tone design that’s lightweight and comfortable to wear.

We love that you can choose from a wide range of colors, including two different hardware tones (black or stainless steel). Plus, the outside is textured to add subtle detail. We only wish the design was reversible, so we could switch up the color without having to purchase multiple bands. Still, for an upgraded silicone band that flies under the radar, this one remains our top pick.

Best Milanese

Ctybb stainless steel mesh magnetic strap.

What We Like: It’s very budget-friendly and breathable.

What We Don’t Like: The mesh may catch on certain knits.

Milanese, or mesh, bands are ideal for fashion-forward minimalists . The CTYBB Stainless Steel Mesh Magnetic Strap is our go-to because it’s much thinner than most other Milanese options on the market. Similar to our top pick from Olivia Burton, this strap is easy to adjust for the right fit.

The breathable design won’t trap sweat, and the magnetic closure keeps it on your wrist through errands, long days in the office, and lunches with friends. It comes in six finishes, so you can choose your favorite — or stock up on multiple, thanks to the budget-friendly price tag. But you may want to be careful if you’re wearing it with your favorite cashmere sweater , as some buyers have noticed that the edges tend to snag on certain knits.

Size: 5.5–9.6 inches | Material: Stainless steel | Compatibility: 38, 40, 41, 42, 44, 45, and 49 millimeters

Best for Working Out

Distore 6 pack soft silicone sport strap.

What We Like: This colorful pack of six bands is sweat-resistant and anti-dust.

What We Don’t Like: If you have smaller wrists, there may be a lot of excess band to deal with.

Whether you’re off to your weekly Pilates class or trying a new celeb-approved workout , having your Apple Watch with you can help you track useful data and motivate you, says personal trainer Kendall Baab, MSc . Make your gym time that much better by choosing the right band — her favorite is the Distore Soft Silicone Sport Strap.

Baab loves that these budget-friendly bands are thin and don’t feel bulky on her wrist, so she can stack them with her favorite bracelets. Plus, they’re sweat-resistant and won’t collect dust. They also come in an impressive array of color combinations, from dusty pastels to fun brights. Baab notes that they’re durable, too, so you’ll have them for plenty of future sweat sessions. If you have smaller wrists, just be aware that there might be a longer tail of excess band (although you can easily tuck it away).

Size: 5.1–7.9 inches | Material: Silicone, stainless steel | Compatibility: 38, 40, 41, 42, 44, 45, and 49 millimeters

Most Comfortable

Bifeiyo sport nylon loop strap.

What We Like: This band is lightweight, breathable, and comes in over 40 colors and patterns.

What We Don’t Like: The hook-and-loop closure is pretty strong.

So thin you might even forget you’re wearing it, the Bifeiyo Sport Nylon Loop Strap is the most comfortable Apple Watch band we’ve found. It ditches the usual metal buckle for a hook-and-loop closure, creating a lightweight strap that’s highly adjustable. Nylon is also one of the most durable Apple Watch materials — it holds up well over time and is easy to spot clean.

The band’s texture is breathable and moisture-wicking, to prevent any buildup. We also love that it’s very budget-friendly and comes in over 40 colors and patterns. But it can be tricky to put on and take off since the hook-and-loop closure is fairly strong.

Size: 5.7–8.7 inches | Material: Nylon | Compatibility: 38, 40, 41, 42, 44, 45, and 49 millimeters

Best Waterproof

Bellroy venture watch strap.

What We Like: The strap is ventilated to prevent sweat from building up throughout the day.

What We Don’t Like: The color selection is limited.

Anyone who’s a little rough on their tech could use a waterproof band. The Bellroy Venture Watch Strap has stainless steel accents that will fly under the radar in the office — but we like that it’s also rugged enough to handle most workouts and outdoor adventures . It’s made from FKM polymer, which is durable and comfortable (with a feel that’s similar to silicone).

To prevent sweat from building up during studio classes, this band has a breathable channel inside that encourages airflow. Plus, your investment is protected by a three-year warranty. Whether you’re doing the dishes or recharging in the sauna, this waterproof band is easy-care, easy-wear. We only wish it came in more colors.

Size: 5–8 inches | Material: FKM polymer, stainless steel | Compatibility: 38, 40, 41, 42, 44, 45, and 49 millimeters

Best for Sleeping

Andi luxe scrunchie band.

What We Like: It’s casual, comfortable, and machine-washable.

What We Don’t Like: Although it’s comfortable to wear, it’s not as stretchy as it looks — and it isn’t adjustable.

If you’re all in when it comes to tracking your sleep, we recommend the Andi Luxe Scrunchie Band. Designed to fit and feel like a scrunchie around your wrist, it won’t leave any harsh red marks behind in the morning. We also love that it’s machine-washable and budget-friendly, so you can stock up in multiple colors.

For casual stay-at-home days, this strap pairs well with your go-to matching sweatsuits . But since it isn’t adjustable, this band is available in five sizes (and the brand suggests measuring your wrist before you order to make sure you choose the right one). FYI: The brand also notes that this band isn’t as stretchy as a typical scrunchy is.

Size: 5–7.8 inches | Material: Fabric, elastic, metal | Compatibility: 38, 40, 41, 42, 44, and 45 millimeters

Best for Small Wrists

Machete smart watch band.

What We Like: You don’t have to compromise on style with this bracelet-esque band.

What We Don’t Like: Removing links may take some patience.

The Machete Smart Watch Band isn’t just one of our favorites style-wise — it’s also ideal for anyone with small wrists. It comes with a jewelry sizing kit, so you can pop links in or out as needed. Just be aware that you may need some patience, according to buyers.

Not a fan of metal or silicone? This strap is made from acetate, which is lightweight, scratch-resistant, and water-resistant (so you don’t need to be precious with it). The hypoallergenic hardware comes in three finishes: silver, gold, and rose gold. And if you’re wary of investing, rest easy — your purchase also comes with a free return label and a one-year warranty. With so many stunning colors and textures to choose from (a major plus for Lopez), we won’t blame you if it takes you a while to decide.

Size: 8 inches | Material: Acetate, stainless steel | Compatibility: 38, 40, 41, 42, 44, 45, and 48 millimeters

Best for Large Wrists

Strapify apple watch carbon fiber bracelet.

What We Like: The brand double-checks to make sure you’ve ordered a strap that’s compatible with your Apple Watch.

What We Don’t Like: Adjusting the length can be tricky.

Buyers love how long the Strapify Apple Watch Carbon Fiber Bracelet is, making it our top pick for wearers with large wrists. The modern carbon fiber design looks especially sleek in black and pairs well with pretty much everything. Lightweight and slim, it won’t weigh you down. As a bonus, the butterfly clasp is easy to latch and unlatch with just one hand.

We like that you can add and remove links from this strap yourself, without any tools. But, as with some of our other top picks, some buyers have found that the process can be a little tricky.

Size: Not listed | Material: Carbon Fiber | Compatibility: 38, 40, 41, 42, 44, 45, and 49 millimeters

  • Compatibility: From the Apple Watch SE to the Apple Watch Ultra, case sizes vary between 40 and 49 millimeters. You’ll need to make sure your band is the same width as your watch’s case — otherwise, it won’t fit correctly. It’s a good idea to check the manufacturer’s specifications before buying, just in case.
  • Materials: Apple Watch bands may be made from silicone, nylon, stainless steel, titanium, leather, fabric, or other synthetic materials. To help narrow down your options, consider where you wear your watch most often. If you usually use it at the gym, a metal or silicone band might be best. These straps tend to be smooth, sleek, easy to adjust, and itch-free — all key features fitness entrepreneur Meghan McFerran swears by. At the office, leather and stainless steel will blend right in with most corporate looks . For sleeping, try a soft fabric band or a thin nylon strap.
  • Care: Some bands need to be wiped down or spot-cleaned regularly, especially if you sweat while wearing them. You’ll get the most use out of your Apple Watch band by following the manufacturer’s care instructions after each wear. When in doubt, use water or a gentle cleaner (like dish soap) and a soft microfiber cloth.

Is it okay to change your Apple Watch band every day?

Yes, you can change your Apple Watch band every day. If you like to wear silicone straps at the gym, stainless steel straps at the office, and fabric straps at night, you can switch between them without worrying about damaging your bands or your watch.

The best Apple Watch bands and straps help you make the most of your Apple Watch. No matter which Apple Watch model you have, changing the band or straps can make your smartwatch look more sporty, fashionable or contemporary — and you can switch the style as often as you like.

While a number of the best Apple Watch bands come from Apple, there are lots of third-party options available at affordable prices, too. There are Apple Watch bands for women and Apple Watch bands for men — anyone can find the right Apple Watch band for them, and that's what makes the Apple Watch the best smartwatch you can buy.

Because the band can change the look of the Apple Watch, there are sport bands, leather bands, metal bands and rugged Apple Watch bands to consider. Here are all the best Apple Watch bands you can get, tested and rated based on material, comfort, appearance, durability and value.

Best Apple Watch bands: Apple Watch Solo Loop

1. Apple Watch Solo Loop

Our expert review:

Specifications

Reasons to buy, reasons to avoid.

The Apple Watch Solo Loop is the best Apple Watch band for anyone who needs something sporty but stylish. Unlike most Apple Watch bands, it has no clasp or other closure — it’s designed to stretch over your hand, yet fit snug on your wrist. It’s sweat-proof and is a great choice for working out, but the smooth finish makes it suitable for professional or social scenarios as well.

We’ve loved the versatility and all-day comfort of the Solo Loop ever since it came out alongside the Apple Watch 6. That said, you must be careful about size selection. For the most comfortable fit, it’s important to pick the Solo Loop in the right size for your wrist. Use this printable tool for assistance. As long as you select the proper size, you’ll benefit from one of the most reliable Apple Watch bands we’ve ever used.

Best Apple Watch bands: Apple Sport Loop

2. Apple Sport Loop

For a sporty Apple Watch strap that’s not made of silicone, the Apple Sport Loop is the best nylon Apple Watch band. The watchband comes in several two-tone finishes, which Apple regularly updates based on the season. It is made from double-layer nylon with dense loops on the skin side to allow for soft cushioning. The other side is made for durability, and taking a beating.

With help from the hook-and-loop fastener, you should be able to get this band to fit your wrist with ease. We found the Velcro lasted a long time, even with frequent sports and activity. But given the woven material, we discovered the Sport Loop needs to be cleaned more often than silicone. While it somewhat wicks sweat away, it’ll get soaked in a shower (or in our case, when we do the dishes.)

Best Apple Watch bands: Apple Sport Band

3. Apple Sport Band

More often than not, when you buy an Apple Watch, the Apple Sport Band is the default, included strap. It’s perhaps the most recognizable of all the best Apple Watch bands we tested, made of an ultra-durable fluoroelastomer material that feels highly substantial compared to regular silicone. We’ve never seen a Sport Band break in all our years of wearing an Apple Watch.

The design is rather basic, though Apple sometimes offers seasonal colors to help shake up the strap’s style. This is a favorite one to collect in multiple finishes and swap out to match your outfit. And while we like the secure, yet discrete pin-and-tuck closure, we have a harder time putting this strap on than many others. It's a similar experience to putting on a bracelet or traditional wrist watch one-handed. But as long as you’re a bit patient, it shouldn’t be a deal-breaker.

Best Apple Watch bands: Nike Sport Band

4. Nike Sport Band

Nike makes the best Apple Watch bands for athletes who love a brand-name. The Nike Sport Band features a blatantly sports-focused design; it's made from fluoroelastomer, which is designed to hold up during intensive activity. The strap is lined with perforations, making this by far the most breathable Apple Watch band on this list.

As you might expect, this band is also water-resistant, so it’s a good choice for swimming or other water sports. Plus, it's smooth enough that it won't be a nuisance while it's on your wrist, while the pin-and-tuck closure (like the one on the basic Apple Sport Band) holds the strap secure. Long story short, this is the Apple Watch band we recommend to those who use their wearable primarily for working out. How else are you going to close those Apple Watch rings?

Best Apple Watch bands: Marge Plus Genuine Leather

1. Marge Plus Genuine Leather

Several of the best leather watch bands for the Apple Watch deliver a high-end look, but not always at the best possible value. The Marge Plus Genuine Leather has been one of our favorite Apple Watch bands for several years now because it provides a genuine leather option without needing you to empty your wallet. For under $20, it’s the ultimate bargain.

Made from premium-feeling leather, this band can accommodate most wrist sizes and it's available in 13 colors, from brown and red to pink and teal. There are even multiple options of the same color with different metal clasps, if you want to match your Apple Watch finish. We wouldn’t wear the Marge Plus Genuine Leather band for physical activities, since it absorbs sweat and could deteriorate over time. But look no further for a professional, yet affordable, leather band.

Best Apple Watch bands: Nomad Modern Band

2. Nomad Modern Band

The Nomad Modern Band is perhaps the most purposeful leather Apple Watch band we’ve tested. By that we mean we noticed a deep attention to detail, from the trimming to the shape of the adjustment holes to the subtle indents on the free and fixed loops. We surprisingly like the lack of stitching — it makes for a very modern look, which the Nomad brand is well-known for.

Yet as other Nomad leather products, the Modern Band is subject to patina, or changing color due to oxidation, over time. That’s not necessarily a bad thing. In fact, some people might love achieving a one-of-a-kind look. But it’s important to know beforehand, so you’re not confused if the material appears different after a bit of wear. The band comes in brown and black leather options, with the choice of black or silver hardware.

Best Apple Watch bands: Casetify 2-in-1 Italian Leather Watch Band

3. Casetify 2-in-1 Italian Leather Watch Band

Apple has a long-time collaborative relationship with Hermès on a handful of designer-quality Apple Watch bands. The most recognizable band is the double-wrap Attelage Double Tour, and it’s gorgeous — though very expensive. Popular phone case brand Casetify sells an affordable alternative for those wishing their Apple Watch looked more fashionable. It’s still not Hermès, but it’s the best lookalike we’ve found.

Wrapped twice around our wrist, the stylish Casetify 2-in-1 Italian Leather Watch Band is a total conversation starter. When you want something simpler, an additional attachment turns the strap into a more traditional single-wrap band. This versatility is a major advantage. We found Casetify’s leather a little rigid at first, but after a few days of wear it felt comfortable enough to wear from a long day in the office to a fun night out.

Best Apple Watch bands: Apple Milanese Loop

1. Apple Milanese Loop

The Apple Milanese Loop has been around for many years now, but remains a modern classic in terms of design. The stainless steel mesh, available in several metallic colors, delivers an elevated look to the Apple Watch that can’t be found with the basic sport bands that come in the box. Better yet, the material melded to our wrist better than perhaps all the best Apple Watch bands on this list.

We also like how simple it is to take the Apple Milanese Loop on and off. The magnetic closure is not only adjustable but surprisingly secure. In fact, the magnets are so strong that they pinched our skin every once in a while, but as long as we were mindful it wasn’t a major issue. Given the combination of style, comfort and ease-of-use, it’s no wonder Apple keeps the Milanese Loop around.

Best Apple Watch bands: Sonnywoo Metal Stainless Steel Mesh Band

2. Sonnywoo Metal Stainless Steel Mesh Band

The Milanese Loop might be the best metal Apple Watch band overall, but at $99, it’s not the most affordable. We found the Sonnywoo Metal Stainless Steel Mesh Band the most comparable alternative for under $20, offering a similar look for less. The most obvious difference is that this band’s loop buckle is placed in the middle of the strap, instead of concealed where the strap attaches to the Apple Watch like you’ll see on the Milanese Loop.

As a bonus, it comes in multiple metallic color options, striking a balance of sleek and fun; however, we noticed the colors are subject to chip or fade over time. This is the trade-off for the low price, so we wouldn’t recommend it for working out or rugged activities. We’d consider it a fashion-only strap.

Best Apple Watch bands: Fullmosa Stainless Steel Apple Watch Band

3. Fullmosa Stainless Steel Apple Watch Band

The Fullmosa Stainless Steel Apple Watch Band is the best Apple Watch band for anyone who wants their Apple Watch to look more like a traditional wristwatch. It comes in a variety of metallic finishes, all of which match existing Apple Watch colors, including silver, black and even red and blue. We found it makes the Apple Watch feel more sophisticated than it would with a sport strap.

Better yet, the Fullmosa Stainless Steel Apple Watch Band comes with a length adjustment kit and spare links, so you can custom-fit the strap to your wrist. It’s simple enough to change, so no need to visit a jeweler. While it’s great for a business meeting or nice dinner out, just note we don’t recommend this band for working out. It gets sticky with sweat or humidity, which could irritate your skin.

Best Apple Watch bands: Spigen Rugged Armor Pro

1. Spigen Rugged Armor Pro

Depending on your regular activities, or even your career, it might be difficult to protect your Apple Watch from damage. That’s when you’d want a protective strap that also features a case for keeping your Apple Watch safe from scratches and other damage, like the Spigen Rugged Armor Pro. Thanks to raised bezels, even if you drop your Apple Watch, the screen should remain intact.

It won’t limit how you use your Apple Watch, either. The Spigen Rugged Armor Pro features precise cutouts for the smartwatch’s speakers, digital crown and side button. Our one problem with this band is that it’s only compatible with 44mm or 45mm Apple Watch sizes, so those with the smaller sizes of the Apple Watch (and those with the Apple Watch 3) can’t benefit from the same protective strap option.

Best Apple Watch bands: Carterjett Tire Tread Apple Watch Band

2. Carterjett Tire Tread Apple Watch Band

If you want a strap that will last a long time, clean easily and look nice all the while, the Carterjett Tire Tread Apple Watch Band is the best Apple Watch band for you. It features a unique tire tread design that’s equal parts rugged and fashionable. It’s very stretchy, yet substantial when secured to your wrist, which is necessary for anyone who might not be gentle with their devices. Similarly, we found it’s a breeze to clean, whether it’s exposed to dirt, crumbs or even paint.

The Carterjett Tire Tread Apple Watch Band has a buckle clasp and comes in multiple color options, including a fun glow-in-the-dark version. Our only concern is that the free loop (the part that holds the extra length of strap in place) felt fragile compared to the the rest of the band.

Best Apple Watch bands: Supcase Rugged Band

3. Supcase Rugged Band

The Supcase Rugged Band is the best Apple Watch band for construction work and outdoor sports, given its ultra-rugged and ultra-durable design. We feel it’ll protect the Apple Watch no matter what, from tall drops to tough terrains. The design reminds us the most of a G-Shock, a fan-favorite look for outdoor sport enthusiasts. Because, yes, G-Shock watches are still in style.

There are several thoughtful hardware details included in the Supcase Rugged Band design, including cutouts accommodating the Apple Watch’s buttons and speakers, added padding around the corners of the watch face and raised bezels. We wish it also came in a option for the 40/41mm Apple Watch size, but as long as you have the 44/45mm size watch you can benefit from all this rugged and protective Apple Watch band has to offer.

Apple Watch Ultra Trail Loop

1. Trail Loop

The Trail Loop is one of the best Apple Watch Ultra bands, designed specifically for those who plan to spend time running outdoors. It prioritizes comfort with a one of the most lightweight designs we've ever tested. It's also extremely secure, keeping the watch strapped to our wrists even when we're moving fast. When we want it to be a little more snug, a convenient pull tab makes it a breeze to adjust the fit quickly.

Perhaps the only downside of this band is that it'll need to washed often, whether it's due to sweat or other elements you might face. But as long as you care for it, it should last you many miles. It comes in a handful of color options that Apple may refresh with the seasons, as it does for some of its other popular sport bands.

Apple Watch Ultra Alpine Loop

2. Alpine Loop

The Alpine Loop for the Apple Watch Ultra is the best band for those who enjoy a variety of land-based outdoor sports. It has a comfortable yet rugged feel, wearing rather comfortably while offering extra security with a titanium G-hook that fits in the this band's row of top loops. If you're going to be hiking, climbing or biking, this is a great choice for ensuring a secure fit.

One setback is that the Alpine Loop can get dirty quickly if you're going to be taking it on adventures where dirt, dust and mud might be involved. As long as you take care of it with cleaning, you shouldn't have a problem, though. We also happen to like the color options currently offered for this band, including the orange one which can be spotted easily in wooded terrain.

Apple Watch Ultra Ocean Band

3. Ocean Band

While it's a great idea to track water sports with your Apple Watch Ultra, you'll want to make sure you have the best Apple Watch band for the activity first. Otherwise, you could risk your Apple Watch falling off due to extreme conditions of things like water-skiing and diving. Speaking of diving, the Apple Watch Ultra has a plethora of diving features — if you plan to take advantage of those, the Ocean Band is what you'll want to get. (We even worked with an expert on diving with the Apple Watch Ultra .)

The Ocean Band has a secondary clasp that secures through the tubular geometry to provide extra security. It's also designed to fit over most wetsuits, though there is the option to purchase an extension if you have an especially thick suit. We will say this isn't the most comfortable band for everyday use, or overnight wear for sleep-tracking. You might want to reserve the Ocean Band for your activity.

What are the best Apple Watch bands?

Why you can trust Tom's Guide Our writers and editors spend hours analyzing and reviewing products, services, and apps to help find what's best for you. Find out more about how we test, analyze, and rate.

Bands of different colors and materials come from Apple with a purchase of the Apple Watch Series 9 , Apple Watch SE , and Apple Watch Ultra 2 . But you might want to purchase some additional bands from either Apple or third-party brands to grow your collection.

The best Apple Watch band overall for sports, hitting the gym or general everyday wear is the Apple Watch Solo Loop, available from Apple. It’s among the most comfortable Apple Watch bands overall and can be worn in most situations, like using the Apple Watch for hot yoga or playing tennis with the Apple Watch .

When it comes to nicer-looking materials, the Marge Plus Genuine Leather is the best leather Apple Watch band and the Apple Milanese Loop is the best metal or stainless steel Apple Watch band.

If keeping your Apple Watch safe is your top priority, the best Apple Watch band is the Spigen Rugged Armor Pro. This is both a strap and a case for your Apple Watch, meaning it can protect your smartwatch’s screen from scratches, cracks and other possible damage. For more options, see all the best Apple Watch bands below, listed based by material.

Be sure to check our guides on how to change your Apple Watch band and how to use the Apple Watch for more tips.

We conduct hands-on reviews of all the best Apple Watch bands considered for this list. We call in a number of Apple Watch bands, then wear them for for several days throughout our normal routines. During this time, we test how easy (or not) the bands are to put on and take off, as well as the overall comfort of the bands. This helps us decide whether they’re fine choices for working, or whether they’re simply for style.

The bands that ultimately earned our recommendation had something unique to offer, whether it’s a stylish design, sporty fit or protective casing. We also take in account the price of all the Apple Watch bands we test, in search of best value Apple Watch bands. Sometimes the bands Apple itself sells are the superior choice, but in certain cases we’ve found that budget options from Amazon and like perform just as well at a lower cost.

These leather Apple Watch bands rival Hermès’ and are customizable

double tour

A wristwatch is so much more than a means to tell time. It’s also the opportunity to make a subtle statement with a one-of-a-kind, hand-crafted Apple Watch band.

Heeding the call to individual style is OleksynPrannyk’s made-to-order and ultra-sharp Double Tour Apple Watch Band — the reasonably priced alternative to the highly priced  Hermès band . The Double Tour and all of OleksynPrannyk’s bands are completely customizable with more than five adapter colors and 14 thread colors from which to choose.

Best yet, the entire collection is available now in Cult of Mac’s   Watch Store . Trust me, you will love this band.

Best List: OleksynPrannyk Leather Apple Watch bands

x

The Double Tour wraps twice around the wrist, offering a totally unique take on the average Apple Watch strap. The band is handcrafted from fine, vegetable-tanned Dublin leather sourced from the Horween Leather Company in Chicago, which has been tanning leathers by hand for more than 100 years. Marked by a high oil content, Dublin leather ages beautifully over time and has a beautiful sheen. Two pieces of this premium leather are held together with meticulous stitching, which makes the strap pop.

OleksynPrannyk is the combined endeavor of Viktor Oleksyn and Pavlo Prannyk, originally from Ukraine. Viktor is the master tailer and has a penchant for creating the perfect, straight seem. He began by crafting a simple pocket wallet — with a straight seam — and sold it the very next day. Selling out at crafts fairs and the like, Viktor found his calling: creating high-quality, handmade leather goods.

The demand for OleksynPrannyk products was so high, Viktor and his small, close-knit group moved to the U.S., setting up shop in the historic Mooresville Cotton Mills in South Carolina. The team of artisans take pride in creating beautiful leather straps for Apple Watch that are completely made to order and customizable for each wearer.

Choose from 14 different thread colors: black, navy, light brown, gray, light gray, blue, green, lime green, orange, pink, red, sky blue, turquoise and white smoky to complement your strap choice. Then pick your adapter in aluminum, black, stainless steel, gold or rose gold to best match the fittings of your Apple Watch.

The Double Tour Band by OleksynPrannyk also comes in Black, Chestnut and Natural, as do its single-tour counterpart .

Available in short, regular and long wrist sizes for both the 38 mm or 42 mm Apple Watch.

New colors include:

Do all styles and colors come in all sizes?

Lucky for my wallet, no! The Double Tour continues to be exclusive to the 38mm size. The Cuff to the 42mm — and Fauve Barenia color. So, the Single Tour remains the only one available to both case sizes — and in a variety of colors at 42mm.

Alas, no. You need a Hermès watch — the actual stainless steel case — to get the watch face.

How much do the individual bands cost?

Less than I expected! The pricing, for Hermès leather, is remarkable. If you haven't visited a Hermès store recently and seen what they charge for non-Apple watches with a Single or Double Tour, it starts at around $3K.

  • Single Tour: $340
  • Double Tour: $490

Frequently asked questions, how do i find my band size.

Apple Watch bands are available in a variety of styles and sizes.

First, you’ll need to choose a case size and band style to see which band sizes are available with that combination. The band you choose will specify the maximum and minimum wrist size. To get the correct band size, we recommend that you precisely measure around your wrist.

If you choose an Apple Watch with a Sport Band, first select your case size then select your band size. Sport Bands only come with one size in the box.

If you choose a Solo Loop band, you’ll need to use the sizing guide to find your exact size. When you shop for Solo Loop bands, there are step-by-step instructions to help you measure your wrist using a printable tool or household objects so you can find the correct size.

How do I customize my Apple Watch?

What’s the difference between gps and gps + cellular.

The GPS + Cellular model allows you to stay connected to the people and information you care about with just your Apple Watch. With the GPS model, you must be connected to your iPhone via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi to send and receive text messages, answer phone calls, and receive notifications. The built-in GPS works independently of your iPhone for distance, pace, and route mapping in workouts.

Best apple watch straps

1. Best everyday bands 2. Best workout bands 3. Best swimming bands 4. Best leather bands 5. Best designer bands 6. Best metal bands

We’ve tested many of the best Apple Watches over the years and tried many of the best Apple Watch bands as a result, which means we know the key factors to consider when you want to personalize your smartwatch. The essential thing you need to know is the size you need.

Smaller Apple Watches with a casing size of 40mm or 41mm use the same-sized smaller bands, while Watches that measure 42mm, 44mm, or 45mm need the same series of larger bands. The 49mm Apple Watch Ultra and Apple Watch Ultra 2 also work with the same-sized bands as the 45mm Apple Watches, although they obviously have dedicated bands for diving, trails, and more.

We’ve picked more than 30 of the best Apple Watch band options to suit all kinds of preferences. A new strap isn’t the only way to give your Apple Watch an upgrade. Read our best Apple Watch accessories guide and our best Apple Watch charging stands and best Apple Watch screen protectors lists as well.

Everyday Apple Watch bands

Your Apple Watch is an everyday essential wearable, so you want a similarly everyday Apple Watch bands to go alongside it. These bands look good and are suitably durable, so they can withstand whatever you get up to. They might not be as stylish as an expensive designer option, but they'll look as appropriate on public transport as they will in the office. Think of these bands in the same way as your reliable favorite T-shirt or pair of jeans - just in smartwatch form.

Apple Solo Loop band on a white background

For every occasion

+ Plenty of color options + Comfortable to wear - You need the right size

The Apple Solo Loop has developed a reputation for being the best general all-day Apple Watch strap for a good reason: it's ultra-comfortable in every way. There are plenty of colors to choose from, and it's made from liquid silicone rubber, giving it a unique, stretchable quality. This Apple Watch band is sweat and swim-proof and has got you covered all day.

Apple Watch Braided Loop Solo band

Comfortable and smart

+ Soft and comfortable + Easy to wear - Expensive

The Apple Braided Solo Loop uses the same stretchy design as the Apple Solo Loop band, but this time it's made from weaving 16,000 recycled polyester yarn filaments around ultra-thin silicone threads. It looks suitably smart and feels very soft. This one's sweat and water-resistant, rather than swim-proof, so don't take it in the pool. Still, if you like the design, it's highly recommended.

Wepro Black Buckle Apple Watch Band

Cheap yet effective

+ Low price + Watch strap design - Questionable durability

The Wepro Black Buckle keeps things simple. It's made from silicone so it's sweat-resistant and dirt proof, but it looks more like a traditional watch strap than most other silicone bands. It utilizes a classic buckle design, which isn't as convenient as the pull-over method, but means you can easily adjust it throughout the day and it makes this band a lot cheaper too.

Load the next product...

Tasikar Strap Apple Watch Band

Tough and rugged

+ Strong magnetic strap + Durable design - Bit chunky

The Tasikar Strap is a good budget option. It uses magnetic straps to keep the band tightly clasped, while still feeling comfortable around your wrist. You can flip it around, too, giving you two colors in one. That makes it suitable for the office as well for less formal occasions. It looks built to last, though that durability comes at a cost – this strap is a little on the chunky side. The use of magnets means it’s heavier than some, too.

Apple Watch bands for working out

When you're working out, you don't want an Apple Watch band that makes you feel sweaty or hot. Instead, you want something fairly breathable - that's also water and sweat-resistant. There are plenty of these out there, so we've focused on the top choices. Each will look good so you can wear them in any setting, but the focus is on comfort when working up a sweat.

Apple Sport Loop watch band

Great for most workouts

+ Breathable design + Lightweight - No good for swimming

The Apple Sport Loop is designed for better breathability, with a hook-and-loop fastener that you can easily loosen as needed. The double-layer nylon weave looks good and provides sufficient cushioning while also leaving room for moisture to escape. It's durably designed, so it won't falter while you're exercising thanks to the securely anchored attachment loops. That said, the fabric material means it's not great for swimming and other water activities.

Nike Sport Apple Watch Band

Durable and breathable

+ Breathable design + Simple fit - Basic looking

The Nike Sport Band for the Apple Watch doesn’t just carry a brand name, it also has a distinctive design. It’s made from fluoroelastomer with compression-molded perforations for added breathability. The design screams exercise, but it should feel good whether you’re getting your sweat on in the gym or lazing on the couch. It aims to be soft, smooth, durable and strong. And it comes in a range of different colors, including an extra-eye-catching multi-colored Pride option.

Nike Sport Loop Apple Watch Band

Top running choice

+ Reflective thread + Breathable design - Limited colors

The Nike Sport Loop has a reflective thread that runs through its nylon weave and shimmers when light strikes it. It's no substitute for high-vis gear when running in the dark, but it is a useful benefit to this lightweight and breathable watch strap. This one only comes in a limited choice of colors, but it ticks other sporty boxes, namely through the addition of dense loops on the inside of the strap to provide cushioning while also letting moisture escape.

Load the next two products...

Supcase Unicorn Beetle Pro Apple Watch band

Great for weightlifting

+ Shock absorption + Bezel protection - It's chunky

If you're looking for a rugged Apple Watch band for when you're lifting, but don't want to sacrifice too much style, the Supcase Unicorn Beetle Pro is a good option. It protects your Apple Watch via a bumper that provides rugged shock absorption, along with a raised bezel that protects the screen. The chunky look won’t be for everyone, but if you’re doing the sorts of activities that put your Apple Watch at risk, you should find it's more protective than most sports bands.

Twelve South Actionsleeve

Workout wrist-strap alternative

+ Better heart monitoring + Positioned out the way - Specific purpose only

The Twelve South Actionband + Actionsleeve does things a little differently: you wrap it around your bicep or arm rather than your wrist. This should mean more effective heart rate monitoring due to more consistent below-skin readings, as well as a better fit if you're lifting weights and worried about knocking your wrist. You definitely can't use it as a regular wristband though.

Apple Watch bands for swimming

The best Apple Watch bands for swimming have a lot in common with the best straps for working out. They're lightweight and comfortable, while also being waterproof so you don't have to worry about them falling apart during your swim. The options here are all great for casual use too - just bear in mind that they're not suitable for more formal occasions.

Apple Sport Band

Best for swimming

+ Durable and strong + Comfy fit - Not the most stylish

Keeping it simple is the name of the game with the Apple Sport Band. It's made from a custom high-performance fluoroelastomer, like many other sports bands, which means it's durable and strong, yet comfy on your skin. A pin and tuck closure system means it's easy to slip on before you head to the pool, and you won't have to worry about it soaking up any water. The main downside of this Apple Watch strap is simply that it’s a fairly plain, arguably even boring, design – you might want to consider a second strap for when you’re not at the pool.

Lerobo 3 Pack

Great value for money

+ Great value + Easy to wear - Basic looking

Choose a three-pack of Lenobo Apple Watch straps and you get all the benefits of water resistance at a very low price, so it's not the end of the world if you end up damaging your strap in some way in the pool. A pin-and-tuck closure system plus breathable holes mean it feels good on your skin, and with three in a pack, it’s likely to be a long time before you need to buy a new Apple Watch band again.

Two Nisto Silicone Straps

Very breathable

+ Plenty of air holes + Waterproof - Maybe not for the office

This strap is better suited to the pool than a formal office: it's about as sporty looking as an Apple Watch band can get. The Nisto Silicone Strap has plenty of air holes to reduce skin irritation, and you won't have to worry about it soaking up water in the pool or sea. Made from silicone, it's lightweight too, so you'll barely notice you're wearing it. It uses a straightforward clip to hold it tight to your wrist and comes in a wide range of shades. The low price does make us question its durability, but it won't be an expensive loss if it doesn’t last long.

Epova Silicone Strap

Simple and durable

+ Easy design + Color options - Basic looking

The Epova Silicone Strap is essentially a regular Apple Sport band, but without the expensive price tag that comes with Apple branding. It's made from durable and soft silicone, so it feels good around your wrist and should limit skin irritation. A buckle-like design means it's fairly easy to attach as well, although not quite as simple as some others here. It's available in a wide range of colors, and cheap enough that it could be worth picking up several in different shades.

Leather Apple Watch bands

Leather Apple Watch bands - and vegan leather options - have the classiness of a traditional watch, with all the benefits of being designed specifically for your Apple device. Leather is highly durable when you maintain it well, so it's good value for money, but it's not great for exercising - and certainly not suitable for swimming.

Casetify Apple Watch Band

Vegan leather

+ Animal friendly + Stylish looks - Only sweat resistant

The Casetify Apple Watch band uses biodegradable vegan leather, so you get a classy look without harming animals. It's water and sweat-resistant, and everything about it is ecologically friendly. Just like a real leather strap, this one's no good for swimming – sweat is its limit. But it costs less than you might expect, and it’s available in a wide range of eye-catching colors. The tie dye won’t be for everyone, but to those who like it, it's a stylish and distinct choice.

California Poppy Leather Link Apple Watch band

Elegant French leather

+ Premium leather + Magnet attachment - Not for exercise

Elegant in every way, the California Poppy Leather Link band is made from handcrafted Roux Granada leather made in France, so you know it'll look good. It uses flexible molded magnets that gently flex to wrap around your wrist and form a secure yet comfortable fit. As with most leather straps, this is a terrible choice for exercise – this is strictly a strap for making your Apple Watch look good.

Black Leather Loop Apple Watch band

Classy Italian leather

+ High-end look + Attractive - Not for exercise

Made from handcrafted leather from Italy, the Apple Leather Link oozes class. Its leather is soft and quilted so it feels great on your wrist, with secure, concealed magnets so you won't notice them - and neither will anyone else. This is a premium (and expensive) choice that you won’t want to exercise in, and it’s only available in a few different colors.

Modern Buckle Apple Watch band

The classic strap

+ Magnetic buckle + Comfy fit - Not for exercise

This is a strap that focuses on both form and function – it looks good and is built to last. The Modern Buckle uses the same material that NASA uses to make landing airbags, with an inner layer of Vectran weave for strength and stretch resistance. On the outer layer, there's smooth top-grain, high-quality leather from France. It feels great, with a solid buckle that's actually a two-piece magnetic closure, giving it a classic look but modern sensibilities.

Hermes Ebene Barmenia Leather Single Tour Deployment Buckle

Expensively decadent

+ Incredibly smart looking + Clever buckle - Very pricey

The Hermes 44mm Ebene Barenia Leather Single Tour Deployment Buckle is very expensive, and a mouthful to say, but it's pretty classy. Using high-end leather, it has a hidden deployment buckle, which opens with a click of the two side buttons, ensuring an incredibly secure fit that still feels comfortable. It's ideal if security is everything to you and money is no expense.

Designer Apple Watch bands

Designer Apple Watch bands can be very expensive, but not always. We've curated a range of bespoke options here: some from big-name designers, others from less well-known artists or in-house designers - all with a unique look that will help you stand out from the crowd. There's something here for every budget. If you want to spend more than your watch cost, you can, but there are still some very smart-looking bespoke options for far less, as well as fun designs, and you can even create a bracelet-style look with one of the options here.

Kate Spade Floral Silicone Apple Watch Strap against a white background

Stylishly cute with a traditional flourish

+ Elegant flowery design + Secure buckle - For older Apple Watches

Designed for older Apple Watches that have 38mm bodies, the Kate Spade Floral Silicone Apple Watch Strap isn't for everyone, but it certainly looks charming. It offers a stylishly cute aesthetic without being too garish. A cute buckle means it looks a lot like a regular high-end watch strap too. The main issue with this strap is simply that it doesn’t support newer Apple Watch models, so you can only use it if you’re rocking an older model.

Hermes Kraft/Rouge de Coeur Jumping Single Tour Apple Watch strap against a white background

Attractively designed and swim proof

+ Swimproof + Great use of textiles - Costs more than others

Often, designer watch straps aren't particularly durable, but the Hermes Kraft/Rouge de Coeur Jumping Single Tour is swimproof. It looks great thanks to its use of a textile that's been woven with a vibrant design, and is exciting yet subtle enough for the workplace too. This Hermes strap is available in a wide variety of other shades, and it’s versatile and durable enough. But that’s a good thing, because it’s exceedingly expensive.

Mintapple watch strap

A distinctive crocodile skin leather option

+ Crocodile skin leather + Very durable - Not animal friendly

If crocodile skin leather seems like the height of luxury, the Mintapple Limited Edition Genuine Exotic Apple Watch strap is for you. This designer watch strap from Mintapple looks distinctive in every way, using expensive leather alongside surgical grade 316L stainless steel that won't rust or tarnish. Many people won't want a crocodile leather strap, but for anyone who does this is an undeniably classy choice.

Kate Spade New York Apple Watch bracelet against a white background

A bracelet that's also a watch strap

+ Doubles up as jewelry + Self-adjustable links - Pretty heavy

This Kate Spade New York Apple Watch bracelet is a great option for anyone who wants to match their Apple Watch with their evening wear decor. Made from polished stainless steel, it uses signature spade-shaped links that are easily adjustable to get the right fit for your wrist. It's a little heavy for workouts and other practical purposes, but it's shiny, stylish, and chic, and at night it looks great – it works as jewelry in its own right.

Apple Pride Edition Braided Solo Loop

Beautifully inclusive

+ Beautiful design + Incredibly comfortable - Costs more than some

The Apple Pride Edition Braided Solo Loop is inspired by the inclusive nature of Pride. It looks fantastic and it's comfortable too, made from weaving 16,000 recycled polyester yarn filaments around ultra-thin silicone threads. Soft yet textured, it's good for sweat and water-resistant - although don't use it in the pool. It’s easy to slip on and off your wrist but not in any danger of sliding off unexpectedly, and the Pride colors make it a bright, attractive option that’s sure to stand out from the crowd.

Pride Edition Nike Sport Loop against a white background

A more breathable way of being proud

+ Reflective rainbow yarn + Breathable design - No good for swimming

Gorgeous to look at, the Pride Edition Nike Sport Loop offers a nylon weave with reflective rainbow yarn that shimmers when light strikes it. Alongside that is a hook and loop fastener that's easy to adjust depending on how much room you need, but its breathable design means you shouldn't feel sweaty wearing it. Of course, being a fabric strap, this Pride Edition Nike Sport Loop isn’t something you should swim in – though it’s ideal for less water-based exercises.

Wepro ThinRainbow Strap against a white background

Pride on a budget with a bohemian twist

+ Great design + Low price - Quality could be higher

A little bohemian in style and a lot full of Pride, the Wepro ThinRainbow Strap is delightful for the price. It has a stretchy design made from woven elastic nylon, so it's comfy and secure at all times. Its buckle further helps here, but the strap is fairly easy to arrange conveniently on your wrist. It's no good for exercise or swimming, but other than that it's a fun little party piece or for times when you want to express yourself.

MobyFox Harry Potter Watch Strap against a white background

For Harry Potter fans

+ Novelty design + Durable - Very situational

We're not saying wear the MobyFox Harry Potter Watch Strap in the office, but if you fancy being a little nerdy then it might be tempting. Officially licensed, this appears well made, with sweat and UV-resistant silicone to ensure it's pretty tough and durable. There are numerous different designs too, so you can embrace your inner Harry Potter house.

Casetify Doodles against a white background

Cute and charming

+ Fun designs + Comfortable fit - Not great for workouts

Best suited for downtime at the weekend or when you're not planning on heading to the gym, the Casetify Doodles Apple Watch strap is a ton of fun, featuring a design from British artist Jon Burgerman. It might not be the most durable watch strap for workouts or anything like that, or smart enough for certain situations, but it's a fun way to express yourself and reasonably affordable.

Apple 45mm Pride Edition Nike Sport Loop watch band on a white background

Inclusive and delightful

+ Classy design + Comfortable fit - No good for swimming

The Apple Pride Edition Nike Sport Loop offers a design that means you can feel proud and inclusive, but its rainbow design blends more into your surroundings for a more professional appearance. Soft and breathable, its nylon weave feels great on your skin. A hook-and-loop fastener makes it easy to adjust as needed, while the attachment loops keep it secure.

Apple 45mm Pride Edition Sport Loop watch band on a white background

Gorgeously proud

+ 3D texture + Comfy fit - May be too vivid for some

The Apple Pride Edition Sport Loop is thoughtfully designed. Its colors unite the core Pride flag, and also symbolize marginalized LGBTQ+ communities, people of color, people living with and who have died from HIV/AIDS, and gender nonconforming people. Its breathable double-layer nylon weave is made from soft textile loops, and there's a 3D texture. It's a unique style that stands out.

Metal Apple Watch bands

If you prefer the classic and cold stylings of a metal watch strap, it's easily achieved with a metal Apple Watch band. Much like some of the designer range, things can get expensive here, but the handy thing about metal Apple Watch bands is they're incredibly robust. Consider these an investment that will help keep your watch safe for a long time to come. Just bear in mind they're not usually great for exercising.

Gold Milanese Loop Apple Watch band against a white background

Inspired by Italy, with extensive adjustability

+ Beautiful design + Distinctive finish - No good for exercise

A little heavy it might be, but the Gold Milanese Loop looks stunning. Woven on specialized Italian machines, its smooth stainless-steel mesh looks great and should feel suitably good on your wrist too. It's fully magnetic, so you can adjust it to your heart's content to get the right fit for your wrist. The use of a physical vapor deposition layer means it has an extra distinctive finish too.

Silver Link Bracelet against a white background

Multiple different classy touches

+ Intricately designed + Secure custom clasp - Evening attire only

Utilizing more than 100 components, the Silver Link Bracelet takes advantage of a complex machining process that takes nine hours to cut the links for just one strap. That makes for good peace of mind when purchasing this expensive strap, and the sense of security is further enhanced by its custom butterfly closure, which folds neatly within the bracelet.

Pugo Top Strap against a white background

An inexpensive metal watch strap

+ Cheap + Stainless steel - Finish could be classier

The Pugo Top Strap doesn't look quite as classy as some metal straps but it's far, far cheaper than the competition. And it still uses premium stainless steel with a refined dual fold-over clasp design that's easy for you to adjust by removing or adding links. The clasp closes securely so it feels snug around your wrist.

Artche Watch Strap against a white background

Durable, secure, and great for sports

+ Adjustable design + Smart look - Clasp isn't for everyone

The Artche Watch Strap promises a secure fit for a good price. Made from stainless steel, it looks the part. Where some may not be keen is with its double folding clasp, which locks firmly but is a little awkward to set up compared to some alternative methods. Still, if you have a physical job, this will keep you feeling confident you won't lose your watch.

How to choose the best Apple Watch band

When choosing an Apple Watch band the first two things you should consider are your budget and what you plan to do while wearing the Apple Watch - most notably whether you plan to exercise in it, whether you plan to swim in it, and whether you'll wear it somewhere smart.

With all those considerations in mind, you can start to round down the best strap for you. Leather straps for example are no good for swimming, and if you plan to extensively exercise then a dedicated workout band might be the best choice.

If exercise isn't on the agenda then you can look to something classier, like a metal or leather band - and if money is no object then designer bands could be worth considering.

What materials are the best Apple Watch bands made of?

The best Apple Watch bands are made from a range of materials. The one that's right for you depends on your preferences and what you'll use the band for.

For example, silicone options are the best for working out. Silicone is usually easy to clean and won't absorb moisture, making it sweatproof.

Nylon is a good option for a comfortable band, especially if you look for an Apple Watch strap made from super soft nylon. Nylon bands are some of the ones with the best pattern and color options, as well as the popular woven fabric look.

Metal bands are ideal if you want your smartwatch to look a little classier, formal or just like a regular watch. Some metal Apple Watch bands have a bracelet-style design. Others have a buckle or clasp. If you're considering a metal band, you'll want to ensure it's secure, as it might be heavier than other options you're used to.

Like metal bands, leather bands can also add style points to your Apple Watch and tend to look more formal. We usually recommend a leather option if anyone is wary about transitioning from a regular watch to a smartwatch. Choose a quality leather band, and it can be the most comfortable choice. There are some good vegan leather options these days too.

When Apple first released the Apple Watch in 2015, finding replaceable watch bands that fit everyone's style and needs was difficult. Nowadays, bands are a dime a dozen, with hundreds of third-party options available. However, sifting through that pile of straps can be a hassle, and it's important to know what to look for to separate the good from the cheap.

For instance, some third-party bands don't fit in the slots on your Apple Watch as well as Apple's first-party straps, so they can protrude and potentially malfunction as a result. Then there's the trouble of spotting the right materials. While bands are inexpensive nowadays, that doesn't mean they're all good. Some might look good, but offer poor construction and cheap parts when you unwrap them.

Getting the right size is also important. Over the years, Apple has made it a little bit confusing when it comes to picking a band that fits your Apple Watch. In 2018, the company switched from 38mm and 42mm case sizes to 40mm and 44mm cases. Despite this, all bands designed for smaller Apple Watches will continue to fit generation over generation, while those designed for the larger model will also fit.

Apple made a similar change in the fall of 2021 with the announcement of the Series 7 Apple Watch. This time, the smaller watch size uses 41mm watch bands while the larger model uses 45mm. Like the previous change, the smallest case size of any series will work with the smaller watch band, and the largest model will fit the larger watch band.

It's also worth remembering that not all bands are for everyone. You can use an Apple Watch in many different ways, so it's important to shop for a band that can strike a balance and accommodate every task and activity you'll perform while wearing it. Those using the smartwatch for fitness will want a material that is easy to clean and doesn't aggravate while sweating, while those mainly wearing their Apple Watch in the office would prefer a band that compliments their office wear more.

Finally, if you picked up an Apple Watch Ultra , the newest and most rugged line of the series, you'll likely want an even more durable line of bands to use with the smartwatch. Check out our roundup of the best Apple Watch Ultra bands to get you started.

Best Apple Watch Band for Running: Nike Sport Band

Apple's collaboration with Nike has resulted in various excellent bands for virtually any fitness activity . If you're a runner or enjoy a good jog around the neighborhood, we recommend checking out the Nike Sport Band .

This band is made of a lightweight fluoroelastomer (a.k.a. silky-smooth rubber) and features lots of perforations that make the band breathable to wick away sweat. The holes also provide many secure points to ensure your Apple Watch fits properly. Speaking of fitting, it's available for both the 41mm and 45mm Apple Watch case sizes.

The Sport Band is priced at $49 and comes in different colorways like Magic Ember , Midnight Sky , Pure Platinum , Desert Stone , Cargo Khaki , and Blue Flame .

Nike's Sport Band is made of a silky smooth rubber and has plenty of perforations, making it breathable and comfortable when out running.

Best Apple Watch Band for Weight Lifting: Nike Sport Loop

Another great option in Apple's Nike collection is the Nike Sport Loop . We recommend this one for weight-lifting and other activities that involve stretching your wrists at the gym. This Apple Watch band is made of soft breathable yarn and is extremely lightweight with a bold pattern. It doesn't feel like you're wearing anything at all, even when you're curling those dumbbells.

The Nike Sport Loop uses a hook-and-loop fastener and a woven pull tab for a secure fit and is easy to wash, both important when sweating at the gym. Its double-layer nylon weave cushions the skin and lets out sweat.

It comes in 41mm and 45mm sizes and is available in Starlight/Pink , Bright Green/Blue , Black Blue , Sequoia/Orange , and Game Royal/Orange . Priced at $49, it will be a great addition to your gym gear lineup.

The nylon weave of the Nike Sport Loop makes it breathable and flexible, two things you need when pumping iron at the gym.

Best Apple Watch Band for Swimming: Apple Sport Band

Choosing the right band for your Apple Watch isn't easy, but it's especially difficult if you're looking for a band that works as well underwater as it does on dry land. Fortunately, Apple had this in mind, as the Apple Sport Band is a fantastic watch band for swimmers.

While the Apple Sport Band looks like it's made out of silicone, Apple claims it's a custom high-performance fluoroelastomer that is softer. This material works well underwater, and it dries quickly once you hop out. It's also available in 41mm and 45mm varieties that will fit your watch regardless of your model.

You've got plenty of color options for this band as well. It's available in White , PRODUCT(RED) , Elderberry , Midnight , Slate Blue , Starlight , and Succulent .

The Apple Sport Band is a great pick for swimmers, but it is on the pricey side for what it is. If you're looking for this type of watch band but don't want to spend as much, the TreasureMax Sport Band has a similar look and feel at a lower price.

If you want a watch band that will feel comfortable while you swim and still look nice during your day-to-day, the Apple Sport Band is a fantastic option.

Best Apple Watch Band for Large Wrists: Carterjett Tire Tread Band

If your wrist happens to be on the larger side, we've got you covered. Carterjett's Apple Watch band is made of silicone and is perfectly flexible. While it ships in sizes up to 10 inches, it can expand a bit, so you're practically guaranteed a good fit.

It ships in a few colors, including black , red , blue , and a special glow-in-the-dark variant, with the tire tread design an eye-catcher. It's also pretty affordable at under $25 and is available for both 41mm and 45mm watches.

You can't go wrong with the Carterjett watch band if it's a large Apple Watch strap you're after.

When you have big wrists, it can be difficult to find an Apple Watch band that fits and isn't expensive. Carterjett's band is both!

Best Apple Watch Band for Small Wrists: Unity Braided Solo Loop

For smaller wrists, we recommend the Unity Braided Solo Loop . This band comes in a variety of sizes to match your wrist for a perfect fit. The band is made of stretchy, breathable polyester and ultrathin silicone blended for maximum comfort. It's also good at wicking away sweat and water if you get it wet.

Apple requires you to download a printable tool or tape measure to get your precise measurement. To do so, you'll simply have to click the 'Start your measurement' button and follow the simple on-screen prompts. Available only in black, it comes in 41mm and 45mm options and in nine different wrist sizes for the perfect fit.

The Unity Braided Solo Loop is a band that Apple makes custom-fitted to your wrist size. You can't beat that if you have small wrists and most bands are too big!

Best Designer Apple Watch Band: Hermes Noir Bridon Single Tour

If you're looking for something luxurious, classy, and designer, look no further than Apple's outstanding Hermes collection. The $349 Hermes Noir Bridon Single Tour , in particular, is a stunner with its continuous knit design and hand-braided 3D chevron patterns.

Made from high-quality polyamide yarn, its modern aesthetic makes for a classy addition to just about any outfit, thanks to artisans in France who carefully craft its construction. This is a surefire way to make a statement no matter the occasion, and its price certainly matches that.

The Hermes Noir Bridon Single Tour band is available in elegant colors like Navy , Rogue H , Kaki , and Noir . However, not all colors are available in 41mm and 45mm sizes.

Featuring a stylish chevron design, the Hermès band is designer in every sense of the word, including price.

Best Leather Apple Watch Band: Nomad Modern Band

When it comes to leather accessories, few companies do them as well as Nomad. The company's Modern Band for Apple Watch is our pick for the best leather strap you can buy.

Nomad's design and high-quality genuine leather make for a classic, modern, and rustic band. It'll also patina over time as you use it, giving it a unique, worn look.

It's relatively pricey at $60, and there aren't any colors to pick beyond brown, tan, and black. But it's a great look nonetheless for 45mm and 49mm Apple Watch users. If you have a smaller Apple Watch, you're unfortunately out of luck with this Nomad band, though you can pick up a band that's even more designer, such as the Hermes Noir Bridon Single Tour .

Nomad's leather band is sure to look great and last forever. It'll patina over time and give your Apple Watch band a unique look.

Best Apple Watch Band for Sensitive Skin: Apple Sport Loop Band

Sensitive skin is an issue for some skin types. It doesn't matter how useful your Apple Watch is if you can't wear it without irritating your skin. If this is a problem with certain watch bands, then the Apple Sport Loop Band is the watch band for you.

The Sport Loop uses a double-layer nylon weave and fastens using a hook-and-loop system, making adjusting easy. The fabric is soft and breathable, and the dense loop side of the hook-and-loop that is in contact with your skin has a cushioned feel and doesn't hold moisture.

When it comes to Apple-made watch bands, the Sport Loop is as affordable as they get. Even better, it's available in various colors such as Cypress , Winter Blue , Midnight , Starlight , and Light Pink . The Sport Loop comes in 41mm and 45mm varieties, with an X-Large size option for the 45mm model.

The Apple Sport Band is made with a fabric that is soft, comfortable, and most importantly, breathable, which makes it a great option if you have sensitive skin.

Best Metal Apple Watch Band: Apple Milanese Loop

Metal watch bands look great but aren't always the most comfortable and can be tough to adjust. The Apple Milanese Loop addresses these issues with a great look, comfort, and wearability you don't often see in metal watch bands.

The Milanese Loop uses a stainless steel weave instead of big, chunky metal. This gives the band more breathability than expected in a metal watch band. You might think this is thanks to new technology, but this band is based on a design from Milan near the end of the 19th century.

You don't have to worry about a buckle, either. Instead of the buckle you'd normally see on a metal watch band, the Milanese loop uses a magnetic design. This makes the band infinitely adjustable, so finding a good fit is easier than other metal watch bands.

The Apple Milanese Loop is available in 41mm and 45mm versions.

The Apple Milanese Loop is a new take on a 19th-century design, combining a stunning classic look with useful features like a magnetic design for easy adjustment.

How do I know what size Apple Watch band to buy?

Apple has a downloadable template to help you measure your wrist to determine the correct band size. You also need to make sure you buy a band for the model of Apple Watch that you have.

How do I change my Apple Watch band?

Each Apple Watch has a band release button. Hold down this button and slide the band to remove it from the watch. Now slide on the new band. There are more in-depth instructions on Apple's support website .

How do I clean my Apple Watch band?

For leather bands, wipe the band with a lint-free cloth, slightly damp if necessary. The process is similar for other bands, but you can also use mild hypoallergenic soap with these if necessary.

Are Apple Watches waterproof?

Apple Watches are water-resistant, but not waterproof . You can swim with Apple Watch Series 2 models and later, but older models are only splash-resistant. You can scuba dive with the Apple Watch Ultra, but not other models.

If this particular band design isn't to your liking, Nomad has a interactive Design Lab , so you can customize a band from the company's multiple styles (including many that are waterproof) and then choose a color and size that's perfect for you and your Apple Watch.

The leather watch bands from Nomad feature a classic, but bold look. Each is made using minimally treated, vegetable tanned, Horween leather. As a result, over time, it will develop a unique patina, regardless of the leather color you choose.

For Apple Watch owners looking to make a statement with their watchband, we recommend the Shinola cognac genuine alligator strap. It's available in 38mm/40mm and 42mm/44mm widths and incorporates silver colored hardware.

What sets this band apart is that it's cut and sewn by hand in the United States using alligator, instead of traditional leather. This gives the band's surface an eye-catching texture.

Buckle and Band offers a new take on designer Apple Watch bands for sophisticated owners

Sponsored Content's Avatar

Buckle and Band's Apple Watch bands are made to last.

best double tour apple watch band

Buckle and Band meets that demand with a vast catalog of designer watch bands made from quality materials, such as stainless steel and genuine leather. These Apple Watch bands don't cut corners and are ideal for those looking for a sophisticated solution that will last years.

Shop Buckle and Band and discover how to transform your Apple Watch into a fancy piece of jewelry meant to be worn daily. From sleek to soft (and surprisingly durable), Buckle and Band turns your tech into everyday wear that you can match with any event.

Upgrade your fashion with a designer Apple Watch band from Buckle and Band

Buckle and Band is a high-end, designer Apple Watch band company based in the U.K. that's committed to bringing premium materials to a market saturated with cheap materials and flimsy craftsmanship. Their products are available for purchase worldwide, making it possible to show off a proper accent to your favorite wearable no matter where you reside.

The team at Buckle and Band transforms an everyday wearable into a statement piece that pairs with any outfit. That means you no longer need a separate watch for black-tie events, a day at the office, or a casual night on the town.

As one of the only brands on the market that targets high-end Apple Watch users, Buckle and Band proves that it's still possible to enjoy the features of a wearable without sacrificing form or quality.

Make a statement with a Buckle and Band metal Apple Watch band

The stainless steel Apple Watch case brings high polish and robust materials to the classic design. It's only fitting that these watches have a stainless steel bracelet that matches that elegance, and Buckle and Band delivers an entire lineup dedicated to the steel material.

One of the most popular options is the Buckle and Band Milanese Stainless Steel Luxury Apple Watch Strap . This stylish piece features the iconic Milanese weave with a secure chain link clasp and six removable links for optimal sizing.

The Milanese strap has options compatible with every Apple Watch model, from Series 1-9 to the SE and the Apple Watch Ultra, each with a removable chain link to find the right size band for your wrist. It also comes in three colors — silver, black, and gold — to find the perfect tone to match your case and outfits.

Another gorgeous stainless watch band is the Gold Steel Heart Apple Watch Band, which has a lace-like design and is ideal for the sophisticated lady in a stunning dress. While this strap is only available in one size, it has three removable links to create the perfect fit (and zero tools are required).

Buckle and Band's Gold Mesh Apple Watch Band is a fresh take on the Milanese style. The mesh watch band features a unique wider weave, has removable links, and is compatible with Apple Watch Series 1-9, Apple Watch SE, and Apple Watch Ultra 1 and 2.

Introduce a touch of elegance with leather Apple Watch bands

With the launch of the Apple Watch Series 9, Apple officially ended production of its leather bands in favor of the sub-par FineWoven material. Not only has customer perception been lukewarm surrounding the new material, but it doesn't look as elegant as genuine leather or suede.

On the other hand, Buckle and Band uses leather extensively for its premium quality, durable properties, and elevated style. For example, the Lond Luxury Apple Watch Band Collection brings back a timeless style and touch of simplicity lost in our modern world.

A more modern, luxurious style graces the Miam Apple Watch Strap, available in black, brown, or pink, and has a distinct crocodile-like design. Likewise, Mila Apple Watch bands come in a splendid light brown, black, or red suede and feature a soft, thick, plush feel.

Thanks to the vegan Apple Watch strap options, those looking for cruelty-free and ethically sourced leather can still enjoy a Buckle and Band classy, high-quality leather band. You can find a vegan Lond Band with exquisite details in black, brown, or green, perfect for environmentally-minded opulence.

Stay active with a stylish band for working out

For years, activewear meant spandex, cheap silicone, or plastic that looked tacky and bland. Those days are a thing of the past because Buckle and Band has a lineup of Apple Watch bands ideal for a night out or an early morning gym session.

Woman shielding eyes from sun with hand, wearing a red band on an Apple Watch, with a beach and ocean in the background.

Buckle and Band's Hybri Apple Watch Band blends an exquisite leather upper with a water-resistant silicone underlayer for added protection. The Hybri Band is available in brown, black, or red to pair with your workout clothes and office attire.

Another Apple Watch band style with the same leather/silicone hybrid design is the Mona Apple Watch Strap. This style features a more timeless look and a traditional buckle clasp instead of the more modern foldover clasp.

Accessories to outfit your other Apple devices

Although Buckle and Band is an Apple Watch band designer first, they also produce accessories that add a touch of style to your other Apple products. Additionally, their leather card wallets help reduce the bulk without giving up class and functionality.

Buckle and Band offers leather iPhone cases for the iPhone 13, 14, and 15 in a range of colors that include blue, green, light brown, and tan. Alternatively, iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro owners can snag a case in either brown or black.

You can also keep your MacBook Air or MacBook Pro safe with a Buckle and Band Leather Laptop Case. These cases come from full-grain pebble leather and have a high-quality zipper that glides closed for added security.

Premium Apple Watch wallpapers available only through Buckle and Band

Apple includes a handful of exclusive wallpapers with each new Watch release, but few position the Apple Watch as a high-end alternative to Omega or Bulova. To close that gap, Buckle and Band designs Apple Watch wallpapers to reflect a classier experience.

Buckle and Band's Apple Watch wallpapers accent the elevated design and high-quality materials found in every new watch strap. Plus, the designers release a monthly collection filled with faces that complement the events and holidays each month is known for.

A band for every Apple Watch series from Buckle and Band

Apple Watch owners no longer have to settle for cookie-cutter straps made from lousy materials from third-party sellers. Buckle and Band's goal of producing the best designer Apple Watch bands makes it easy to find a band that matches a high-class style made from genuine leather or elegant stainless steel.

Purchase a Buckle and Band Apple Watch band from anywhere in the world and invest in a brand that competes with luxury Swiss watchmakers. With Buckle and Band, your Apple Watch will be a classic timepiece worthy of conversations and compliments for years to come.

ZDNET's key takeaways

  • The Withit Titanium Band is available for larger Apple Watch models for just $145.
  • The innovative link adjustment system is fantastic, the butterfly clasp is secure, and the color perfectly matches the Apple Watch Ultra series.
  • The butterfly clasp, like most link bands, occasionally catches skin or hair.

The Apple Watch Ultra 2 is the best smartwatch available today and the silver titanium body material is durable and attractive. Titanium bands for this titanium watch, however, are expensive. Apple's Silver Link Bracelet is $349, and the more affordably-priced Nomad Titanium band is still $300.

Also:  My favorite Apple Watch Ultra accessory is back in stock, and it's not made by Apple

For the past few weeks, I have been sporting the Withit Titanium band , which is just $145. Don't be alarmed by its 50% lower price compared to competitors though, as this band sports a link adjustment method that every metal watch band should have.

Other metal watch bands usually come with a link removal tool that has some pins, a watch holder, a screw pin, and maybe even a small metal hammer. When I opened the Withit box, I was surprised to see no link removal kit and the watch band itself had all links attached. This approach made the band much larger than even my big wrists, so I was resigned to getting out some reading glasses and performing watch band surgery.

I found that Withit incorporates a wonderful link adjustment system. You find the links with arrows, pull the top link directly out and away from the band, rotate the link 90 degrees, and then slide out the link adjacent to it.

Also: My search for the ultimate Apple Watch Ultra strap is over

You need to perform this procedure on two links to remove a link, but it takes seconds and holds securely when you rotate the link back down on the pin and push it into the band. I removed four full links from the band and now enjoy a perfect fit.

The grade 2 titanium watch band material perfectly matches the Apple Watch Ultra and Ultra 2 and is lighter than the stainless steel option. The band isn't exclusive to the Apple Watch Ultra series and works with 42mm, 44mm, and 45mm Apple Watch models. The band also has a DLC protective coating and still looks as new as the day it arrived for testing.

The Withit Titanium band  secures around your wrist with a double butterfly-style clasp. The band has never pinched my skin and stays in place securely.

Buttons on both sides must be pressed in to release the band, so you must be intentional to release it, which helps with security.

Sport and Mesh Bands for Garmin

Regular readers know I sport a smartwatch on one wrist and a GPS sports watch on the other. Withit sent along its $12.99 two-pack Garmin band set , with a metal mesh band, and a silicone band in black and black/gray.

The metal mesh watch band fits my wrist well, but it barely fits over my hand to get to my wrist, even after substantial recent weight loss. The band may not be large enough to fit over big hands, so use caution with the metal mesh band if you have larger hands, as many 26mm watch owners do.

Withit offers this Garmin two-pack  for both 22mm and 26mm Garmin watches. Since the Enduro 2 remains my favorite Garmin watch, I started my testing with this 26mm watch. Each band attaches to the Garmin pin via a plastic opening and clamp system where you press the band over the Garmin pin and then pull back on the clamp to release the band. It is similar to Garmin's Quick Fit system.

Given the large 26mm width of these two bands, I also tested out both on my Coros Vertix 2 GPS sports watch and they worked perfectly. This capability means Withit can advertise compatibility with the Coros watch lineup, especially as the bands are available for both 22mm and 26mm watches.

Sport and Link Bands for Samsung

Withit also makes bands for other watches and sent along a two-pack of its Samsung Universal bands, including a stainless steel link band and a silicone band designed for any watch with a quick-release pin mechanism and 20mm width. This two-pack of bands is not currently shown on the website, but the mesh and silicone offer is priced at $22.95 . Withit also has a 22mm option for this two-pack but currently only offers one color option: black link and black silicone.

You can easily attach and remove the bands with the quick-release pin. Unfortunately, the stainless steel link band does not have that innovative link release system seen on the Apple Watch titanium model (above). Withit still includes the link removal tool and instructions to remove links manually to fit the band to your wrist. I was lucky to find the watch band fit my wrist without removing any links, which made testing easier.

Once on the wrist, the double-button closure system keeps the band in place. The stainless steel and buckles have a matte black finish and look great.

The black silicone band has openings along most of the length, so it will fit just about any wrist size. The openings also offer space for you to sweat it out during a workout. The silicone material is soft and a comfortable fit on your wrist. Stainless steel closures also ensure the band remains in place during any physical activity.

ZDNET's buying advice

I love wearing watches -- and when I can easily swap out bands to fit my activity, mood, or even holiday, I am even happier. Withit provides one of the best titanium band options at an affordable price and an innovative tool-free link adjustment system.

I still cannot believe the low cost of the two-pack offerings for the metal mesh and silicone bands for Samsung, Garmin, and other watches with 20mm, 22mm, and 26mm widths. There are limited color options available, but the price is right and I highly recommend you consider a Withit watch band for your favorite watch.
