Brian Cadd and Glenn Shorrock Get Together Again For Two Amigos Tour

Brian Cadd and Glenn Shorrock have been mates for more than half a century. 52 years ago they were in the band Axiom together. In 2022 they will be together again for another round of the Two Amigos tour across Australia.

Cadd and Shorrock will take a five piece band on tour. The shows will be in a Covid safe environment. Protecting the health, safety, and wellbeing of our ticketholders and workforce is our highest priority and all venues will be operating in reduced, COVIDSafe modes with all precautions stipulated by the respective State Governments.

Fans are also strongly advised to use the official ticket links and not to buy tickets from so called “reselling” websites such as Viagogo who typically advertise heavily online and often mislead consumers into paying much higher prices than necessary for tickets that may turn out to be fake.

My wife and I had the pleasure of visiting the Two Amigos for a tasting during our Sonoma trip and it was outstanding. Bob was fantastic, sharing a ton of knowledge, which made for an exceptional tasting experience and truly memorable visit.

Verisimilitude. Not a word that trips lightly off the tongue. Nor should it. Yet it is the word for here. Captivating you at first sip and hooking you at first laugh. Cousins had called to rave to us about this winery they had discovered. I love everything that is old; old friends, old times, old manners, old books, old wines. So, heck yes. Cousins then quickly arrived to drive us and off we all went for a visit. Here's how our visit went. We sipped. We laughed. Repeat. And repeat. And repeat. Many thanks to our hilarious hosts, masters of their crafts which are wine and laughter to present what are in effect a series of highly critical, nuanced love notes to the idea of America. They inspire and nurture happiness - one person, one wine and one laugh at a time, while playing characters tailor-made for their wide repertoire of intrusive yet inviting personas. Two Amigos Winery addresses the whole person--mind, body and spirit all the while quite mesmerizing, poignant and full of unearthed beauty. When we bellied up to the bar, we didn't know we were in for several belly laughs also. Gosh. I ended up more drunk on the laughter than I was on the wine, lovely as the wine was, which the wine was. For all its accomplishments - and it has many - Two Amigos Winery has heart, brains and an ability to laugh at itself. I'll be back. For the smiles. For the wine. For the laughter. Because more important than the food pairing is the person with whom you drink the wine. Sniff, Sip & Giggle. Taste a wine. Laugh which boosts immunity and relaxes the whole body leaving your muscles relaxed for up to 45 minutes afterwards. Wine improves with age. The older I get, the better I like it. Today's forecast: sunny with a chance of wine. Wine is appropriate for breakfast, lunch, or dinner and in-between. Sniff, Sip & Giggle. Taste a wine. Laugh which triggers the release of endorphins, the body's natural feel-good chemicals. Endorphins promote an overall sense of well-being and can even temporarily relieve pain. It takes a long time to grow an old friend. Visits by appointment only. In victory, you deserve wine. In defeat you need it. Sniff, Sip & Giggle. Taste a wine. Laugh which decreases stress hormones and increases immune cells and infection-fighting antibodies, thus improving your resistance to disease. Wine goes with whole grain Raisin Bran. Shakespeare wrote: "Give me a bowl of wine, In this I bury all unkindness." I cook with wine, sometimes I even add it to the food. Sniff, Sip & Giggle. Taste a wine. Laugh which protects the heart. Laughter improves the function of blood vessels and increases blood flow, which can help protect you against a heart attack and other cardiovascular problems. Either give me more wine or leave me alone. Friends and wine have much in common. The older, the better. Keep calm and pour on. Sniff, Sip & Giggle. Taste a wine. Laugh which burns calories. Laughing for 10 to 15 minutes a day can burn some 40 calories. As long as we have wine, family holidays will be fine. There's a wine for everything. Wine a little and you'll feel better. Sniff, Sip & Giggle. Taste a wine. Laugh which lightens anger's heavy load. Nothing diffuses anger and conflict faster than a shared laugh. Looking at the funny side can put problems into perspective and enable you to move on from confrontations without holding onto bitterness or resentment. Wine is bottled poetry. Wine and laughter are contagious. If I ever go missing I'd like my picture put on wine bottles instead of milk cartons. This way my friends will know to look for me. Visiting Two Amigos was definitely a highlight on our trip to California. It was by far the best wine tasting that we have ever experienced. We've been to Wine Country many times and have had spectacular wine tastings and tours. But meeting Bob and experiencing the Two Amigos tasting was the ultimate wine tasting event, ever. We're excited to be members of your wine club and grateful to our friends who were already "La Familia" for bringing us into your world. Cheers!

Archeological evidence of wine fermentation dates back 8,000 years. Evidence of wine production dates back 6,000 years. Considering the relative tools and "education" levels of the era, one should be able to infer that generally speaking, winemaking cannot be that difficult. And yet, here we find ourselves in the enlightenment era of the 21st century, desperately looking for a decent glass of wine that either doesn't taste like a stick of butter rubbed across tree bark, or worse, a beautiful purple-hued glass of swill that smells like grandma's favorite room deodorizer and tastes of old cough syrup mixed with metal shavings from an old machine shop. Where did civilization lose its way?? Somewhere along the millennia, humans got cute, thinking of ways to differentiate in order to let Lysander's wine not taste like Dorian's wine. As winemaking grew exponentially, we forgot the fundamental of wine: it's about the fruit, Stupid! (Yes I know, botanically speaking, grapes are technically a berry because the pericarp is fleshy all the way through and no stone resides within the center while having been produced from a single flower containing one ovary. Focus.) Luckily for us all, the gentlemen of Two Amigos Wine get it. Not only that, but they are willing to sit down with you and let you in on the secret while sampling some of the most stunning wines I have ever enjoyed as I gaze across the idyllic vistas of the property. If you like wine and want to love wine, please reach out to them and arrange a visit. You won't get a classroom lecture and you won't be one of 30 parties forking over $50 a pop to get a splash of some avant-garde, mass production critical darling. What you will get is an experience. It will be genuine and it will be real. It will also be slightly irreverent, so your sense of humor needs to be on the dry side more so than your palate. So anyone out there looking to book your party bus full of your bridesmaids or your college buddies will need to look elsewhere, Two Amigos is too precious.

Well with a visit. The two amigos are delightful and fun. The wines are very good and the view is fantastic. Go see them!

Absolutely loved this place!! A great tour and history of the place and their story (Squire and Bob). The setting/scenery was fantastic and relaxing, oh and the wine was pretty awesome too, I enjoyed every bottle we sampled. This is truly a hidden gem, and I have already told several friends/family to visit. I was even promoting it to other wineries in the area during their tastings. : ). Will definitely be back. If you have any doubts visiting this winery, DON'T, drop what you are doing and make a reservation now.

Two Amigos is the hidden gem of the valley. They're a boutique winery owned and operated by two friends who were college roommates. They're now in their 70s and clearly enjoying life and loving what they do. Bob was an incredibly gracious host. One of my friends said, "I wish he could be my surrogate grandpa." He went through the whole process of how they make wine and then gave us a tasting on a patio overlooking their vineyard. Gorgeous scenery, and he is a master of conversation and fielding questions. We became members of the wine club on the spot. All of their wines are fruit forward and They were all delicious. If you're planning a trip to the valley, this is worth the hour and a half. It was the highlight of our trip.

Can I give 10 stars? I've been traveling to Napa/Sonoma for over 10 years. Visiting dozens of wineries both small and large. This experience by far takes the cake! Bob was a wonderful host. Funny, knowledgeable, and a master of his craft. I've never been to a tasting where I enjoyed ALL of the wines. Even the rose. For the first time, I was compelled to join a wine club and I did! Happy to be a part of La Familia. If you visit only one winery on your visit, this is the one to go to.

Love this place! Love this wine! Live the owners! If you want a superb Wine Country experience, look no further! You won't want to miss this. Give them a call, they'll accommodate you. Don't wast your time on typical tourist stops. Us six local girls with lots of winery experience gives this our vote of highest approval!

Best Sonoma County Winery, tour, tasting room, lunch spot, and wine club!

Our tour and tasting at Two Amigos was such a memorable moment while we were in Sonoma. Squire was such a fabulous host and our tasting was so personal. We learned so much from Squire about wine/wine making in general and then of course learned all about their Two Amigos wine more in-depth. The tasting took place in Squire's backyard with breathtaking views! Thank you again, Squire!

Calling themselves The Two Amigos, they will be joined onstage by a five-piece band to present an evening promising great music, poignant memories and loads of laughs.

Heart of the city festival, the two amigos lead a walking tour through chinatown as part of this year's heart of the city festival back to video.

Reports of the death of Chinatown are, to paraphrase Mark Twain, greatly exaggerated, says John Atkin.

“I think part of the problem is that Chinatown gets lumped in with what has become known as the Downtown Eastside,” said Atkin, a local historian. “Chinatown itself is still incredibly lively. It’s got new restaurant openings, it’s got everything Chinatown has always had. It just has a slight edge to it which does not in many ways impact things.”

Along with Bob Sung, Atkin is guiding a walking tour through Chinatown as the Two Amigos. The tour is part of this year’s Heart of the City Festival, which features 100 events over 12 days, all with a focus on the DTES.

With the DTES in the news as much now as ever, and for few positive reasons, the festival is a much-needed reminder that there’s more to the area than fentanyl overdoses, knife attacks and pop-up sidewalk villas.

Sung, who like Atkin, has been guiding walking tours for years, says he doesn’t shy around the nearby issues with his charges.

“What I tell them, and it’s usually in the park or garden amidst the tranquillity and beauty of Chinatown, is that we’re adjacent to all that,” he said. “I tell them that they may be exposed to that but you’re with me to learn about Chinese cuisine, custom and culture.”

Both men are experienced guides.

“I’ve noticed the tour buses changing the routes, but I purposely take the same route I’ve always taken,” Atkin said. “With the out-of-town groups, as we go past the tent encampments, I explain what’s going on. Then with the local groups they’re interested in what’s going on.”

Atkin and Sung are dyed-in-the-wool Chinatown boosters who revel in the area’s shops, restaurants and history.

“I sometimes hear the narrative, ‘Don’t go down to Chinatown, it’s dangerous,’ ” Sung said. “Chinatown is not dangerous. During the day it’s active, it’s vibrant.”

“And the late-night scene is really interesting these days,” Atkin said. “Restaurants are staying open a little later. There’s a juice bar, Kevin and Kevin, that turns into a cocktail bar in the evening. Fortune Sound Club is pounding away late into the evening, bringing a nighttime crowd. That activity helps keep the neighbourhood vibrant.”

One might think that, after all these years of walking the same beat, there is little about the neighbourhood that could surprise Atkin and Sung. Such isn’t the case.

“There are always things to learn about Chinatown,” Atkin said. “It has a lovely, deep, complex layered history. There’s the history that has been handed to us and then there’s the history that’s been tucked away.”

Recently, Atkin was researching the Hon Hsing Athletic Club building when he discovered the unknown history of the building beside it, the Ming Wo. It was originally built for Hip Tuck Lung, who was one of only two legal opium producers in Vancouver, and served as his office, a social club and base of operations.

“He had 15 ovens in the basement,” Atkin said. “Outside of Victoria, it was one of the largest opium factories going. You uncover that layer of history, and then you take that through the evolution of other buildings.

“Shanghai Alley isn’t actually as important as it’s been made out to be — the origin of Chinatown was on the site of the Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden. But we have this mythical history and you want to peel that back.”

“John has the documented historical aspect, and I get into the heart-and- soul of Chinatown,” Sung said. “I’m third-generation Canadian, and one of the reasons I started doing this was that my generation and my parents’ generation always felt we had to assimilate. I can only do that so much.

“Now, I can’t wake up fast enough in the morning to get down there and showcase my heritage and culture.”
