The City of Puerto Princesa has a lot more to offer. Its attractions range from historical sites to natural parks. There are also tourist attractions that offer hands-on experiences and pasalubongs. Indeed, the Puerto Princess City Tour is interesting and worthwhile.

Plaza cuartel, cathedral & baywalk  – check-out three attractions with one running tour. the plaza cuartel is a city park and also a historical site. it is the palawan massacre site during the world war ii. still, present at the park are remnants of an old garrison and tunnels. next to the park, is the old yet beautiful cathedral of the city. along the way, you will pass by the baywalk. it is where most locals and some tourists spend their free time – chatting, eating, or simply watching the sunset., mitra’s ranch – owned by the late senator ramon mitra. this tourist destination is located at the sta. monica heights. it is open to the public and its view deck offers a majestic view of the whole city., binuatan creations – a factory of traditional weaving where guests can participate in a hands-on experience. guests can also buy various souvenirs at binuatan creations., baker’s hill – also located at the sta. monica heights. this small bakery then is actually now a theme park. nevertheless, it is still best known for their delicious and reasonably-priced baked goodies. tourists can also buy food products pasalubong at baker’s hill., palawan wildlife rescue and conservation center or palawan butterfly garden – the palawan wildlife rescue and conservation center studies palawan endangered species. although it is used to be the crocodile farming institute, the place also houses other animals. inside is a mini-zoo where several species of mammals, birds, and reptiles are also found. the palawan butterfly garden conserves native butterflies. it is a great place to have a closer interaction with butterflies and nature itself. there are also different species of animals in the garden such as walking sticks and scorpions., underground river tour.

The Underground River is part of the Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park. It is the most popular attraction in Puerto Princesa. It is even known and admired globally. In 1999, the UNESCO listed it as a World Heritage Site. And in 2012, it was voted as one of the New7Wonders of Nature. The Underground River Tour starts from a short hike or boat ride at Sabang Town unto the Puerto Princesa Underground River.

Day 1 - Arrive Puerto Princesa - Sightseeing

Pick up from Puerto Princesa airport and transfer to the hotel. Take a 3-hour city tour in the afternoon, including visits to Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception and Plaza Cuartel. Visit Palawan Wildlife Rescue and Conservation Centre or Palawan Butterfly Garden, and Mitra's Ranch and Baker's Hill.

Day 2 - Underground River

After breakfast, drive 2 hours north to Sabang. Register and take a short boat ride to Underground River National Park. Board a canoe with a searchlight to explore the 1.5 km Underground River, seeing amazing formations. Have lunch and return to Puerto Princesa. Optional zipline available if time permits. (breakfast, lunch)

Day 3 - Honda Bay Island Hopping

This morning, head to Santa Lourdes pier and board a boat to Honda Bay. Honda Bay consists of multiple small islands with stunning beaches bordered by shallow reefs. During the tour, you will visit LuLi Island, Cowrie Island, and Starfish Island, where you can swim, snorkel, or relax. Afternoon, return to the mainland and transfer to your hotel. Day 4 - Depart Puerto Princesa

Explore the natural beauty of Puerto Princesa, Palawan, in this 4-day and 3-night Puerto Princesa tour package. On the first day, your Puerto Princesa itinerary will start by boarding your Philippine Airlines flight at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport. A designated driver will pick you up once you arrive and escort you straight to your accommodations, where you will stay for 4 days and 3 nights. Once you are settled, the Palawan travel package will start with a Puerto Princesa City tour.

The shared city tour will take you to some of the best spots around Puerto Princesa City. Your first stop will be the Crocodile Farm, followed by Baker's Hill, then Mitra's Ranch. You'll then have a stop at the souvenir shops and the city's Baywalk Palawan. The tour will continue to Plaza Cuartel Palawan, then the cathedral of Puerto Princesa, Immaculate Conception Cathedral, for the final stop.

The next day is for your Puerto Princesa Underground River tour package with lunch. This underground river in Puerto Princesa is recognized by the UNESCO World Heritage Site because of its rich biodiversity and mesmerizing landscape. Your guide will fetch you from the hotel, and then you'll be heading to the port. Hop on a boat to reach the Subterranean River National Park. Once you reach the park, complete the registration process, and then you'll board a smaller boat that will take you around the renowned underground river. 

On the third day, you will enjoy your Puerto Princesa island-hopping tour, where you’ll head to the top islands nearby. This island-hopping package already comes with transfers, a tour guide, and a picnic lunch. The tour guide will pick you up at your accommodations at 7:30 AM. The island hopping tour will start heading to Honda Bay near Puerto Princesa, then to Starfish Island Palawan. From there, you’ll head to Luli Island Palawan, and it will end at Cowrie Island.

After your island-hopping tour, you’ll have your Ihawig River tour. Experience watching the fireflies light up the trees along the Ihawig River. This tour includes a guide, a set dinner, and a stop at Puerto Princesa Baywalk Park. From the port, you'll get into a small row boat, and it will slowly cruise along the river. You'll see the fireflies light up the darkness, along with the glowing plankton on the river's surface.

On the last day of your Puerto Princesa vacation, prepare to check out and wait for your designated driver to pick you up from the hotel. From there, you will be dropped off at the airport in time for your flight back to Manila.

Daily itinerary

Day 1 - Day 1: Arrival + Check-in + Puerto Princesa City Tour

Take your Philippine Airlines flight from Ninoy Aquino International Airport to Puerto Princesa Airport. Upon arrival, you will be picked up by a designated driver who will drop you off at your accommodations. Check in and prepare for a Puerto Princesa City tour.

The first stop of your city tour is the Crocodile Farm, an eight-acre wildlife center that houses hundreds of crocodiles along with other endangered species. This will be followed by a trip to Baker's Hill, where you'll find a lot of baked goods. You can have a snack or grab a meal here at your own expense.

Then, you'll head to Mitra's Ranch, where you can try horseback riding, zip lining, and walking on a hanging bridge. You'll then have a stop at the souvenir shops and the city's Baywalk Palawan. The tour will continue to Plaza Cuartel Palawan, a memorial for those killed during the Palawan Massacre in World War II, and then your last stop at the Immaculate Conception Cathedral.

After the city tour, your guide will escort you back to your accommodations.

Day 2 - Day 2: Palawan Puerto Princesa Underground River Shared Tour with Lunch & Transfers

Wake up early and prepare for your Puerto Princesa Underground River tour. Your guide will fetch you from the hotel at 7:30 AM and will take you to the port. Hop on a boat to reach the Subterranean River National Park. Once you reach the park, complete the registration process, and then you'll board a smaller boat that will take you around the renowned underground river.

While navigating the water, be cautious not to use your camera's flash to prevent startling the bats residing in these caves. The main attractions include breathtaking stalagmites, stalactites, and rock formations. 

Following the river cruise, return to the port, where a buffet lunch awaits.

Day 3 - Day 3: Puerto Princesa Island Hopping Tour + Puerto Princesa Iwahig River Firefly Watching Tour

Get ready for day three of your Puerto Princesa adventure with an early start for the island-hopping tour. Your guide will pick you up at 7:30 AM, and you'll board an outrigger boat at Honda Bay Puerto Princesa. Head to Starfish Island to marvel at various starfish species, then visit Luli Island, a sandbar visible during low tide. Conclude the tour at Cowrie Island with a beach picnic.

Following island-hopping, embark on an Ihawig River cruise at 5:30 PM, where you will ride a small boat and sail along the water. Witness fireflies above the Ihawig River as the night falls, but remember to keep your camera flashes off to not disturb them. You'll also get a chance to see glowing plankton on the river's surface. 

After the cruise, enjoy a complimentary dinner. Your guide will drop you off at Puerto Princesa Baywalk Park for a leisurely night stroll before returning to your hotel.

Day 4 - Day 4: Checkout + Departure

Before you check out, you can take advantage of this time to explore the hotel’s facilities and make use of its amenities. Once the checkout process is done, wait for your designated driver to pick you up and take you back to Puerto Princesa Airport for your return flight to Manila.

After doing extensive research, we have decided to only work with 2 different tour operators in Puerto Princesa. Both are locally owned, and are the only ones we found who have enough experience to carry out these tours smoothly. They are well established in the business, and put a lot of emphasis on being punctual and professional.

Most hotels work with these companies as well, so you can always book your tours directly from the front desk. While it allows for greater flexibility, the problem is you might find out certain tours are already fully booked. Moreover, booking from the hotel is substantially more expensive. Island Hopping Tour in Honda Bay

Aside from the underground river tour, this is Puerto Princesa’s most popular attraction. While it does resemble similar tours on other islands, the main advantage here is it’s much less crowded. You can book this tour with a private boat and guide, or can join a group of 8 and share a bangka, which will make the whole trip much cheaper. Group tours cost 35$ per person . For private island hopping tours, please contact us for a quote as it depends on availability and your exact requests.

There are quite a few beautiful islands to visit, and most of them are also ideal for snorkeling and swimming. Pandan and Dos Palmas islands have the beat beaches, but are privately owned so an admission fee per person is required. If you are on a budget, you can skip these 2 and go to the smaller islands instead. Luli islands, Snake island, Starfish and Cowrie are typical inclusions in this day tour, all offering beautiful quiet beaches and great coral reefs to snorkel at.

The exact itinerary of this day trip can only be determined at the day of the tour, based on weather conditions. Special requests and customization are possible, especially if you booked the private tour. Snorkeling gear is not provided, but you’ll be able to rent it either at the Honda bay wharf or once you reach any of the islands. You’ll also have to pay 150P (3$) environmental fee at the wharf. Bringing swimming attire, towels, sunscreen and extra water is highly advised. A complimentary lunch buffet is included.

Firefly watching night tour

This is another highly popular attraction among tourists – since the tour goes out in the evening it can be easily added to most travel plans. The tour takes you down the Iwahig river, a 10-meter-wide river surrounded by trees and mangroves from all sides. The entire surrounding is lit up by the fireflies, creating a colorful and magical ambiance resembling a Christmas celebration.

As with all other activities, this one can be booked as either a private or group tour. There isn’t really a need to book a private boat, since the paddle boats are small anyway and you won’t share them with many people. A light dinner at Baker’s Hill is included prior to the tour itself. You’ll be escorted by a local guide throughout your trip, and the total price for each person is 28 U.S dollars.

Please make sure to follow the safety instructions at all time, and stay on the boat unless your guide says otherwise. Avoid using flash while taking photos, as it scares away the fireflies. Chances are you won’t get really wet, but keep in mind towels aren’t provided so you might want to bring your own. Delays in pickup time are possible, and the latest you can go on the tour is 7:30 PM – but please make sure to coordinate that with us in advance.

Puerto Princesa half day city tour

There’s no lunch included, so make sure you eat before and bring an extra bottle of water with you as well. This is a guided tour, meaning you’ll have a local tour guide with you all the way through, who will explain about the history of the various landmarks you visit.
