>>24 how about dark iron sword?

I think Dendro Traveler’s best f2p weapon should be Sapwood Blade. It does provide a huge portion of EM that Iron Sting can provide for most of DMC’s burst uptime, while DMC faces a lot of energy issues, which Sapwood Blade can help cover up. DMC needs like over 200 ER to reliably have burst charged before CD, especially if not teamed with Nahida, and/or favonius users, etc.

Dendro Traveler Guide and Best Builds

Dendro Traveler Guide and Best Builds for Genshin Impact

The Traveler is the character you start with, being a 5 Star Sword character with no set Element. Instead, you choose the element you want to use. While the Traveler tends to be very simple in design, Dendro is one of the stronger elements to use. They are a great off-field damage dealer and a good unit to support other Dendro characters with when it comes to Energy generation. They are great when used with Bloom, Burgeon, Quicken and Hyperbloom teams.

Strengths and Weaknesses

Dendro traveler's build.

Dendro Traveler's primary function is to apply Dendro so that other on-field characters can trigger Dendro reactions and to act as a battery for other Dendro Characters. The low cooldown on their skill means you have to swap into the Traveler quite often, hence why building some personal damage is still preferred.

The Dendro Traveler is a super flexible character to enable all the different Dendro reactions with. They are not the best at applying Dendro, however this is a unit you get for free, with the only downside being that the Traveler has multiple elements to choose between.

The weapon options for the Dendro Traveler is pretty broad, with two easy to get four star weapons that requires no wishing. Between the weapons, the most important thing is to get enough Energy Recharge to be able to regain 80 Energy for your Burst to maximise its uptime. While the amount of Energy Recharge needed depends on your team, you will need to get somewhere between 160% and 260%. Depending on whether you got another Dendro Character in your party this can differ but generally 160-200% with a second Dendro, 220-260% without. While Freedom-Sworn is BiS for the Dendro Traveler's personal DPS, it does make it a lot harder to attain higher amounts of Energy Recharge.

For artifact choice, Deepwood Memories is the best option if you can benefit from the Dendro Res Shred it provides. It also synergizes very well with the Dendro Traveler's kit, making them an ideal character to use this on for Bloom and Hyperbloom teams. Some teams might want a different setup like Aggravate teams as they benefit a lot from Noblesse Oblige .

Combos and How to Play Dendro Traveler

The Dendro Traveler is super easy to play in general. There are not really any hidden mechanics behind the character or special combos to pay attention to. All you need to make sure of, is that you are able to use your burst on cooldown. As mentioned above, you will need a lot of Energy Recharge to make sure of this. Outside of this, you cycle characters to use their skills and to continue to trigger Dendro reactions. Your Elemental Skill has an 8-second cooldown and generates 2.5 Elemental Particles when it hits an enemy, so make sure to swap back into the Traveler often enough to build up your energy.

The Dendro Traveler works fine in any comp that wants to trigger Dendro reactions of some kind. Whether it be Hyperbloom , Nilou Bloom , Aggravate or Burgeon . The Dendro Traveler's Elemental Burst works really well with any of these reactions, except Pyro initially applying to the Lotuslight Transfiguration . This is due to how the Elemental Burst works, as it reacts with Hydro , Electro and Pyro . The reaction that will happen only happens for one element and only happens once, so if you use the Burst in a Burgeon comp, make sure it wont get hit by Pyro first. If this happens, the Burst blows up and disappears, thus cutting your source for Dendro.

Dendro Traveler's Best Team Comps

Dendro Traveler's main team compositions are typically very low budget, as the character is free. You can also use the Dendro Traveler as a support in quite a few teams to funnel energy for another Dendro character like Nahida or as a cheap fill-in to apply Dendro for Hyperbloom / Aggravate .

Dendro Traveler's Hyperbloom Team

Hyperbloom is a very easy comp to build and get going with. It works by creating the reaction Bloom by hitting a target that has Hydro on it with Dendro or vice versa. This creates Dendro Cores on the ground. These cores will blow up after a set amount of time. Applying Electro to these will use the core in a Hyperbloom reaction, sending out a projectile. The aim of this comp is to use the Dendro Traveler together with any of the Hydro characters above. For the Dendro Traveler, this involves using their Elemental Burst, then swap them out. For the Electro application, if you use Fischl , she will not be a Driver, as you only use her Elemental Skill to apply Electro. Here you can use the Flex slot to swap in Nahida or back into the Dendro Traveler. Below is a budget comp as well, for those who are either new or do not have a large portfolio of characters.

Dendro Traveler's Budget Hyperbloom Team

A budget version of a Hyperbloom team would be the Dendro Traveler, Barbara, Lisa and Collei. These characters work well enough to trigger Hyperbloom on a budget level. From there you can swap out characters as you collect new ones. Otherwise it works the exact same as the team above. It is a very burst centric comp, outside Barbara who applies Hydro with her Skill, so make sure to get enough Energy Recharge on all characters.

Dendro Traveler's Quicken/Aggravate Team

Electro is the shining part of this comp, triggering Quicken and then Aggravate by applying Electro again. As in any other comp with the Dendro Traveler, you spend very little time on the Traveler just using them for their Elemental Burst. Between the Traveler and the Electro Driver you use, you can choose either 1 or 2 characters in the Flex slot. If you use 1, then you can fill in the empty slot with another Dendro Character.

Dendro Traveler / Nilou Bloom

This team is very specific. Outside of Nilou and the Dendro Traveler, the last slots are filled with either Hydro or Dendro Characters. This is because Nilou has special mechanics that only work when there is at least 1 Dendro character with her and the rest of the party only being either Hydro or Dendro. Head over to her page if you want to know more about how she works.

In this comp, you most likely want another Dendro character to help with the generation of Bountiful Dendro Cores. You also want to have a character who can heal, making a character like Yaoyao very good as she is a Dendro Healer.

Dendro Traveler's Ascensions, Talents and Constellations

Dendro traveler's ascension passives and materials.

The Dendro Traveler requires a range of materials to ascend to the 6th ascension. Starting from the second ascension he/she gains additional ATK as bonus stat giving a total of 24% increased ATK at the final ascension. The total cost to upgrade all ascensions is:

Dendro Traveler's Talents

Listed below is each talent and a brief explanation of how they work.

Due to how the Traveler works, the cost of upgrading your talents is different from all other characters. All 3 Talent materials are in use in different amounts, as each upgrade will require a different kind. To level a single talent to 10 costs:

Dendro Traveler's Constellations

Since you can get all of these Constellations by grinding, getting all 6 is preferable. You gain them throughout the Sumeru Archon quest, one at the end of Act II, IV and V and you gain one when you attain level 3, 5 and 7 with the Statue of the Seven in Sumeru.

Genshin Impact Dendro Traveler Guide: Best Build, Artifacts, Weapons, Teams, and More

best dendro traveller artifacts

Dendro Traveler Guide

Genshin Impact Traveler Introduction

In this article, I’ll be going over everything you need to know about the Dendro Traveler, including their playstyle, best artifacts, weapons, teams, and more.

Despite previous iterations of the Traveler, with their new Dendro affinity, the Traveler has locked in a spot as a go-to Dendro support in the current Genshin Impact Meta providing AoE Dendro application in the form of their burst, with unique gameplay interactions with certain elements.

Active Talents

Normal attack – foreign fieldcleaver.

Same attack string for the traveler as always. 5 hit sequence with relatively low scaling. Irrelevant for his playstyle and not required to level this whatsoever as his kit/role is more off-field centric.

Elemental Skill – Razorgrass Blade

When cast, it deals Dendro DMG in a sort of cone shaped AoE. Fairly standard skill that applies 1U Dendro and it is mostly used to generate particles for your burst. (2.5 particles) Has decent scaling and can potentially do more DMG by unlocking your A4 talent passive.

Elemental Burst – Surgent Manifestation

Upon casting, it creates a Lea Lotus Lamp that deals Dendro DMG to opponents with the AoE of its field. When coming into contact with an Element, (Hydro/Electro/Pyro) the Lamp will go under certain changes known as a transfiguration.

The transfiguration goes as follows:

  • Hydro: The AoE of the Lamp AND its attacks are increased.
  • Electro: The Lamp’s ATK SPD is increased
  • Pyro: The Lamp will explode and disappear, dealing AoE Dendro DMG

Regarding the most useful transfiguration, Hydro seems to be the most effective, while Pyro transfiguration being the worst as it effectively just griefs your Dendro Application. Electro transfiguration might seem good on paper, but even with the increased ATK SPD, it still follows ICD rules meaning increased ATK SPD does not equal more Dendro App. Hydro Transfiguration increases the AoE which allows for a wider range of application, giving you more AoE potential.

Additional notes:

  • Performing a Hydro transfiguration will trigger Bloom and create a Bloom seed
  • The Lamp applies 0.4 GU Dendro

Character Talent Priority

Here’s a quick talent priority for Dendro Traveler.

Elemental Burst > Elemental Skill > Normal Attack

The Traveler’s Burst is mostly what you want to prioritize if you are planning on leveling their talents at all. Keep in mind, if their only role is supplying Dendro application, these can be kept fairly low.

They only should be leveled if you want to maximize their DMG contribution. If that is not the case, then leaving them low leveled is completely fine and the Traveler will still perform their role well.

Character Best Combos

Since Dendro Traveler is primarily an off-field support, they have no combos worth mentioning.

master genshin email banner

Passive Talents

Ascension stat.

As you ascend Traveler, he will gain ATK%.

1st Ascension: Verdant Overgrowth

Lea Lotus Lamp will obtain one level of Overflowing Lotuslight every second it is on the field, increasing the Elemental Mastery of active character(s) within its AoE by 6s. Maximum 10 stacks.

A nice addition to the Traveler’s kit due to their supporting nature and the teams he’s played in. At max stacks it gives the active character in the AoE 60 Elemental Mastery which can be relevant depending on the team.

For example, in a Keqing Aggravate comp, it’s an appreciated source of EM when Keqing is played on field proccing Aggravates. Note that with constellation 4, you gain 5 stacks upon cast.

4th Ascension: Verdant Luxury

Every point of Elemental Mastery the Traveler possesses increases the DMG dealt by Razorgrass Blade by 0.15% and the DMG dealt by Surgent Manifestation by 0.1%.

Adds a very straightforward synergy with the Elemental Mastery stat. Nothing much to be said here. When maximizing personal DMG, this synergy is something to keep in mind. For the most part it is quite negligible, due to the Traveler’s role mainly just being a form of sustained Dendro Application.

Utility Passive: None

Constellations.

Genshin Impact Traveler Male Portrait

Since the Traveler is the main and free character of the game, as you progress through the story, you will obtain materials to fully max out the Constellations.

We’ll still cover how each constellation impacts the kit, as the free upgrades are always nice to have.

  • C1: Low Impact
  • C2: Medium Impact
  • C3: Low Impact
  • C4: Medium Impact
  • C5: Low Impact
  • C6: Medium Impact

Constellation 1: Symbiotic Creeper

After Razorgrass Blade hits an opponent, it will regenerate 3.5 Energy for the Traveler.

This constellation is quite okay. A small quality of life change although it leans more towards negligible and you still need to meet a relatively high ER requirement for the most part.

Constellation 2: Green Resilience

Lea Lotus Lamp’s duration is increased by 3s.

Decent constellation that allows for longer sustained AoE Dendro application. Effectively, it enables you to take advantage of the increased duration in terms of reaction value.

Constellation 3: Whirling Weeds

Increases the Level of Razorgrass Blade by 3. Maximum upgrade level is 15

Constellation 4: Treacle Grass

After the Lea Lotus Lamp triggers a Lotuslight Transfiguration, it will obtain 5 stacks of the Overflowing Lotuslight effect from the Passive Talent “Verdant Overgrowth.” You must have unlocked this Passive Talent first.

Another decent constellation that immediately gives you 5 stacks after triggering a transfiguration. Effectively getting you closer to max stacks which gives you 60 Elemental Mastery in total for the active character within your burst. Again as mentioned in the talents section, potency of this passive/constellation is team dependent. However overall, it is still an appreciable constellation.

Constellation 5: Viridian Transcience

Increases the Level of Surgent Manifestation by 3. Maximum upgrade level is 15.

Constellation 6: Withering Aggregation

The Dendro DMG Bonus of the character under the effect of Overflowing Lotuslight as created by the Lea Lotus Lamp is increased by 12%. If the Lamp has experienced a Lotuslight Transfiguration previously, the character will also gain 12% DMG Bonus for the corresponding element.

Straightforward DMG % bonus for the character under your burst AoE. The Dendro DMG Bonus being appreciable in Hyperbloom/Spread triggers while the Transfiguration DMG bonus can be appreciated by non-Dendro characters within their respective Dendro teams, depending on the Transfiguration setup.

The Dendro Traveler is mainly an off-field support in Dendro reaction teams, providing sustained Dendro Application for their respective reactions. Keep in mind due to our limited access to Dendro supports at the moment, the Traveler’s value in Dendro teams is quite high. However, that definitely could change in the future.

4 Piece Deepwood Memories

Genshin Impact Deepwood Memories Gilded Dreams

The ideal artifact set for a supportive role in Dendro reaction centric teams. (Bloom, Spread, etc.) The Dendro RES shred is relevant in Bloom and Spread teams as well as being relatively easy to maintain uptime.

4 Piece Instructor

If you happen to have access to this 4 star set, it is a solid alternative on certain teams. Mainly in aggravate teams where your focus is more geared towards the aggravate DMG of your Electro characters, to where the team-wide EM buff is greatly appreciated.

Placeholder Artifact Sets

2pc + 2pc (mix n match)

The Traveler can benefit from 2 piece set bonuses such as Emblem of Severed Fate, along with either another Energy Recharge 2 piece bonus like Exile, or a 2 piece Deepwood Memories. Keep in mind these should be placeholders for the aforementioned 4 piece sets. Keep in mind, these placeholder options are mainly for burst uptime and not so much DMG centric.

  • Circlet: Crit/Elemental Mastery
  • Sands: Energy Recharge/ Elemental Mastery
  • Goblet: Dendro DMG Bonus

Regarding your sands, I’d almost always recommend an Energy Recharge sands in solo Dendro UNLESS you happen to meet the relative ER requirements through substats somehow. Your Goblet is straightforward and Circlet can be Crit if you need it to proc Favonius sword.

Here’s the order of sub stats to prioritize:

Energy Recharge

  • Elemental Mastery
  • Crit Rate/DMG

In solo Dendro, I’ve found that around 200-220 is doable with Favonius sword + decent play. I’d recommend getting as close as you can to 250 for reliable comfort.

5-Star Weapons

Freedom sworn .

This sword itself is very good and can be an option on the Traveler for team buffing value. However, there are better users for this weapon overall and losing the Energy Recharge you would get from an ER weapon hurts your burst uptime. If you happen to have this weapon along with enough Energy Recharge from other sources, go crazy. However that may not be the case for most players.

4-Star Weapons

Favonius sword.

One of the Travelers best options in general while providing great utility. Being the solo Dendro in most teams, getting uptime on your burst is quite difficult. Favonius sword provides much needed rotational comfort as well as particles for your team. The massive Energy Recharge stat that it gives is greatly appreciated as well. Overall, this weapon should definitely be considered most of the time.

Sapwood Blade

Quite the decent option if your Favonius Sword is already being used or simply just an alternative. Provides less Energy Recharge in exchange for a passive that gives the on field character that picks up the generated leaf, 60 elemental mastery at R1. (120 EM at R5) Overall, it is a weapon that can be considered when experiencing no burst uptime/rotational issues.

Sacrificial Sword

If you are unable to use any of the aforementioned 4 stars, this sword can be considered. It provides the same amount of Energy Recharge as Favonius Sword, and can help with particle generation at high refinements.

As far as teams go, the Traveler at the moment is a staple Dendro support in any Dendro related teams simply due to the fact that our Dendro options currently are few and far between. That being said, compared to the likes of Collei/Tighnari, Dendro Traveler allows for more sustained Dendro Application and more flexible rotations making Traveler more valued in certain scenarios.

Keep in mind, these teams could change due to future releases, so use these team templates as more or less alternative solutions rather than optimal.

Hyperbloom Teams

Genshin Impact Dendro Traveler Hyperbloom Team

One of the only Dendro slot -in for Hyperbloom teams and effective nonetheless. Provides you with sustained off-field Dendro Application/Seed Generation in order for your Electro unit to proc Hyperblooms.

An Anemo unit such as Sucrose is also optimal here for grouping and also triggering Hyperblooms with Electro swirls. As for Electro units you have options as well. Kuki Shinobu is able to interact with the seeds themselves off-field with her skill pulses. Fischl and Yae Miko, while not being able to target the seeds, deal solid DMG along with applying consistent off-field Electro for your Anemo unit to Electro Swirl.

Aggravate Teams

Genshin Impact Dendro Traveler Aggravate Team

The Traveler fills a very straightforward role in Aggravate teams as well. Simply applying off-field Dendro for Quicken in order for your Electro Units to Aggravate.

His DMG is negligible on this team so you can opt to use alternative artifacts sets such as Instructors, instead of the Deepwood Memories set which would only shred Dendro for the Traveler.

Your flex slot will most likely be an Anemo unit for VV shred/ grouping.  Overall, a very solid option in Aggravate teams currently.

Burgeon Teams

Genshin Impact Dendro Traveler Burgeon Team

Again, the Traveler in Burgeon teams fill a straightforward Dendro Application role. Something worth noting is that Burgeon as a reaction is quite tricky. You will absolutely need a unit with relatively slow Pyro application in this comp as too fast of application can potentially lead to Burning which you do NOT want.

On top of that, with the Traveler’s Transfiguration mechanic and its interaction with Pyro, it could potentially grief your entire rotation if you are not careful. All of these factors contribute to Burgeon slightly falling off compared to the aforementioned teams.

However, it can still be a completely functional team with the right units/setup. The reason Thoma is actually quite optimal here is due to his slow Pyro application which actually has some benefit here.

Genshin Impact Traveler Artwork

Finally, the Traveler has an opportunity to shine in the current Genshin Impact Meta. As of now, their overall value is quite nuanced due to our limited Dendro options.

However, they do their job very well in current Dendro teams nonetheless. Given his ease of access, the Dendro Traveler is valuable for anyone looking to build a comp around Dendro reactions.

Keep in mind their value is tied to future Dendro supports and their relevance but even despite all of this, the Traveler will always be a solid Dendro support that is accessible for anyone and everyone to build.

The best Genshin Impact Dendro Traveler build - Dendro Traveler weapons, artifacts, and F2P options

The Dendro Traveler's skillset makes the main character more useful than usual

The best Genshin Impact Dendro Traveler build makes the default main character actually worth using. HoYoverse seemingly addressed some of the major issues that plagued the last two Traveler variations, with shorter cooldown timers and skills designed to deal higher damage. You may want to roll on the Tighnari banner or focus on Collei builds , but the Dendro Traveler is a viable option if you want to save your Primogems and materials for something else.

Cover image for YouTube video

How do I get the Dendro Traveler?

Like changing to other versions of the Traveler, you only need to interact with a Statue of the Seven in Sumeru to acquire their Dendro form, which you can do as soon as you enter Sumeru in Genshin Impact 3.0. Choose to “Resonante with Dendro,” and the Traveler will automatically change their elemental affiliation.

This option will remain even after Genshin Impact 3.0 ends, and it isn’t time sensitive like a traditional character banner.

Also like other versions of the Traveler, you can swap to any of their other available elements by resonating with a Statue of the Seven in another region.

Is the Dendro Traveler good?

Dendro Traveler build: The Traveler fires a spray of leaves at a human enemy

Yes, unlike the Electro and Geo Traveler, the Dendro Traveler’s skills are designed to make them a strong elemental DPS character. Razorgrass Blade, their elemental skill, fires a spray of leaves in front of them and deals heavy Dendro damage, and best of all, it has a comparatively short cooldown timer.

Their burst creates a lotus lamp that initially deals Dendro damage in a broad area and transforms if you use certain elements on it. Hydro increases the lamp’s area of effect, Electro makes it deal damage more quickly, and Pyro causes it to explode.

Both abilities scale with elemental mastery , so not only do you boost the skills’ base power, but any reactions you trigger with the Traveler get a potent boost as well. Even if you don’t raise Tighnari or Collei, you can still do quite well for yourself just with the Dendro Traveler.

What is the best Genshin Impact Dendro Traveler build?

Given how important elemental mastery is to the Dendro Traveler’s abilities, your best bet for building them is focusing on that stat in some form.

Best Dendro Traveler sword – Freedom-Sworn Sword

The Freedom-Sworn Sword is technically the best weapon for the Dendro Traveler. Its secondary stat gives a significant boost to elemental mastery, while the passive skill increases all damage dealt and, when you meet certain conditions, adds a further boost to attack.

Since the Traveler is never quite as good as five-star characters, though, you may not want to use such a rare sword on them. If so, Sacrificial Sword is another strong choice. Its secondary stat raises energy recharge, and the passive skill has a high chance of ending the user’s skill cooldown time.

The Favonius Sword is another useful option. While it doesn’t end cooldown timers, it does almost guarantee the user’s energy gauge stays full.

Best Dendro Traveler Artifacts – Gilded Dreams

Gilded Dreams is the ideal pick for an elemental mastery focus, especially if you end up using a sword without elemental mastery buffs.

  • Two-piece effect: Raises elemental mastery by 80
  • Four-piece effect: After triggering an Elemental Reaction, attack increases by 14 percent for each party member whose elemental type is the same as the equipping character, and elemental mastery is increased by 50 for every party member with a different elemental type.

Even with just the two-piece effect and one character of a different element, you get close to a 20 percent damage increase on the Traveler’s elemental skill. Add substats and weapon stats into the equation, and you end up dealing quite a bit of damage with just the skill alone, without factoring in reaction damage.

If you want a more straightforward build, you could use the full Deepwood Memories set instead.

  • Two-piece effect: Raises Dendro damage by 15 percent
  • Four-piece effect: Reduces enemy Dendro resistance by 30 percent after the user hits them with an elemental skill or burst

The Dendro buff and debuff still make the Traveler’s skills quite powerful, even if you don’t get the associated increase in reaction damage.

What is the best Dendro Traveler F2P build?

Dendro Traveler build: The Traveler runs away from a large mechanical monster in an open field

The Dendro Traveler’s F2P build is actually a bit easier to work with thanks to two strong craftable weapons.

Best Dendro Traveler F2P weapon – Sapwood Blade

Sapwood Blade is a new craftable Sumeru weapon that checks all the right boxes. It has high base attack and energy recharge as a secondary stat, and the passive skill boosts elemental mastery by 60 if the user triggers a Dendro reaction.

There’s still no word on how you can get Sumeru billet items, and it seems like we’ll be waiting until Genshin Impact 3.1 for a new weekly boss. However, you can exchange Northlander Billets for the new Sumeru billets.

Iron Sting is a strong alternative if you already have one. It boosts elemental mastery almost as much as the Freedom-Sworn Sword and increases all damage dealt when the user deals elemental damage.

Best Dendro Traveler F2P Artifacts – Gilded Dreams

Since it’s easier to boost elemental mastery with the Dendro Traveler’s F2P build, we’re picking Gilded Dreams for this build as well. Just bear in mind that returns from elemental mastery start dropping off after 500 or 600, so if you use Iron Sting and Gilded Dreams with a varied elemental party, you don’t need to focus on getting elemental mastery substats on your artifacts.

best dendro traveller artifacts

Best Dendro Traveler build in Genshin Impact – Weapons, Artifacts, & more!

Image of Michaela Schulte

The fourth time's the charm, right? It may be for this iteration of the Traveler's elemental powers in Genshin Impact. They are one of a few characters who wield the new Dendro element. Is it worth your time to level their skills? Read on and find out.

Dendro Traveler's Playstyle in Genshin Impact

The Dendro Traveler is all about their burst, Surgent Manifestation. It's probably the most involved burst we've seen from the Traveler yet. The Traveler plants a lamp on the field that will change mechanics based on which element, Hydro, Electro, or Pyro, it comes into contact with first. Plan to use them as a sub-DPS unit that plants the Lamp and switches to a Hydro, Electro, or Pyro main DPS. As a sub-DPS unit, they can provide quite a bit of damage, which is a nice change.

Dendro Traveler's Best Weapons in Genshin Impact

best dendro traveller artifacts

A four-star weapon tends to fit best on the Traveler, mostly because five-star weapons are best saved for other characters. We recommend the  Favonius Sword  to maximize its burst uptime. Dendro is all about reactions, so another option you could consider is the  Iron Sting . Its Elemental Mastery substat helps to boost the many Dendro reactions that occur if you pair the Traveler with a hydro and electro unit. If you really, really want to give the Traveler a five-star sword, try the  Skyward Blade .

Dendro Traveler's Best Artifacts in Genshin Impact

The Deepwoods Memories artifact set is geared toward Dendro characters, particularly support characters, making this a great choice for your Dendro Traveler. You could also make do with a Noblesse Oblige set as it helps many burst support characters. Try to find artifact pieces with as much Energy Recharge and CRIT rate as possible. A Dendro damage goblet will be your best choice as well.

Dendro Traveler's Skills in Genshin Impact

Foreign fieldcleaver.

  • Perform up to five rapid strikes.
  • Consumes a certain amount of stamina to unleash two rapid sword strikes.
  • Plunges from mid-air to strike the ground below, damaging opponents along the path and dealing AoE damage upon impact.

Elemental Skill: Razorgrass Blade

  • With a flourish of your blade, you unleash a spray of razor-sharp leaves that go before you and deal Dendro damage.

Elemental Burst: Surgent Manifestation

You create a Lea Lotus Lamp by calling upon the might of the flora all around you. This Lamp will deal continuous Dendro DMG to opponents within its AoE.

  • Hydro : the Lamp’s AoE and the AoE of its attacks are increased.
  • Electro : the Lamp’s attack speed is increased.
  • Pyro : the Lamp will explode after a short delay and then disappear, dealing AoE Dendro damage.
  • The Lea Lotus Lamp can only undergo one Lotuslight Transfiguration in its duration.
  • Only one Lamp created by the Traveler can exist at any one time.
  • Lea Lotus Lamp will obtain one level of Overflowing Lotuslight every second on the field, increasing the Elemental Mastery of active character(s) within its AoE by six. Overflowing Lotuslight has a maximum of 10 stacks.
  • Every point of Elemental Mastery the Traveler possesses increases the damage dealt by Razorgrass Blade by 0.15% and the damage dealt by Surgent Manifestation by 0.1%.

  • Lea Lotus Lamp‘s duration is increased by three seconds.
  • Increases the Level of Razorgrass Blade by three. The maximum upgrade level is 15.
  • After the Lea Lotus Lamp triggers a Lotuslight Transfiguration, it will obtain five stacks of the Overflowing Lotuslight effect from the Passive Talent: Verdant Overgrowth. You must have unlocked this Passive Talent first.
  • Increases the Level of Surgent Manifestation by three. The maximum upgrade level is 15.
  • The Dendro damage bonus of the character under the effect of Overflowing Lotuslight, created by the Lea Lotus Lamp, is increased by 12%. If the Lamp has experienced a Lotuslight Transfiguration previously, the character will also gain a 12% damage bonus for the corresponding element.

What you need to build the Dendro Traveler in Genshin Impact

If you haven't ascended your Traveler's level, we've got a handy  farming guide  to help. You'll also need to visit one of the Statues of the Seven in Sumeru with the Traveler as your current character to  resonate with Dendro . You'll have to level all of the Traveler's skills from scratch (yes, the normal attack again, too), which requires  all three Sumeran talent level-up materials ,  fungal spores ,  Mudra of the Malefic General , from the Raiden Shogun weekly boss, and  Crowns of Insight  if you choose to max any skill.

Best teammates for the Dendro Traveler in Genshin Impact

While a "nuclear" build sounds fun, your best teams will probably use the Traveler to support an Electro or Hydro main DPS, characters such as Keqing , Kamisato Ayato , or Raiden Shogun . You can use other Dendro, Hydro, or Electro supports such as Collei , Xingqiu , or Kuki Shinobu to complete the team.

Should You Build The Dendro Traveler? Best Artifacts, Swords, And More

' src=

The nation of wisdom, Sumeru, is finally here in Genshin Impact. It brings lots of new locations and storylines we’ve been looking forward to since the Golden Apple Archipelago event. With thousands of freemogems to collect and fun events to take part in, a question that most people may have is, “How good is the Dendro Traveler?”

Did Hoyoverse finally listen to the requests of people and make the Dendro Traveler great, or are they no different from their Inazuma and Mondstadt counterparts? (Geo Traveler was pretty good). In this article, let’s look at if you should build the Dendro Traveler or not. Let’s also look at some of the best weapons, artifacts, and skill sets for him.

Should You Build the Dendro Traveler?

The short answer is yes. Dendro skillset might just be one of the best Traveler skillsets in the game. That said, for the people who want to build them as DPS, you might be in for a disappointment. Dendro Traveler works best as a support unit. However, that doesn’t mean that their damage is measly. When paired with the right characters, Dendro Traveler can be an awesome addition to your team.

Coming to how their kit works. The elemental skill “Razorgrass Blade” is mostly helpful for producing Dendro particles for the elemental burst. The burst drops a “lotus lamp” that deals Dendro AoE damage and lasts for nine seconds. The elemental burst works best when paired with Hydro and Electro attacks.

Dendro traveler 3

Hydro increases the AoE of the elemental burst, and Electro increases the lamp’s attack speed. However, you shouldn’t pair it with Pyro characters like Xiangling , as you won’t be able to get the most out of the elemental burst by doing so.

Dendro Traveler 1

Not to mention, Dendro Traveler is going to be an incredible asset in exploring Sumeru. A lot of puzzles and mechanisms require Dendro application, and if you don’t like Collei, Dendro Traveler is your best bet. Summing up, here are the reasons to build the Dedro Traveler

Reasons to build Dendro Traveler

  • Great support character when paired with Electro and Hydro.
  • Good for initial Sumeru exploration.
  • Very easy to level up and ascend.
  • C6 unlocks insane support and damage potential.
  • Can work very well with upcoming characters like Cyno.

Best Weapons for Dendro Traveler

Dendro Traveler suggestions

Right off the bat, the focus should be on energy recharge, and we already have great free-to-play weapons that scale off the same. The best weapon for Dendro Traveler for f2p players is the Sacrificial Sword. Why? It can help generate double the Dendro particles thanks to its immediate CD cooldown skill. Other options are Favonious Sword, Sapwood Blade, and Freedom Sworn (Whale noises).

  • Sacrificial Sword ( 61.3% ER and 454 ATK)
  • Favonious Sword ( 61.3% ER and 454 ATK)
  • Sapwood Blade ( 30.6% ER and 564 ATK)
  • Freedom Sworn ( 198 EM and 608 ATK)

Best Artifacts for Dendro Traveler

The best artifacts for Dendro Traveler are the 4PC Sumeru-exclusive “Deepwood Memories.” Prioritize Crit Rate/Damage on the Circlet, Dendro damage on the Goblet, and Energy Recharge on Sands. You can also use an off-piece Dendro Damage Goblet if you have one.

Another set that’s worth trying is the 4PC Glided Dreams, with similar stats and sub-stats as Deepwood Memories.

What are your thoughts on the Dendro Traveler? Did you expect him to be more powerful, or is he pretty good? Let us know in the comments section below.

Genshin Impact: Best Dendro Traveler Build

The Traveler can now resonate with Dendro! Experiment with new reactions and new builds to get the most out of your Traveler.

Best Position – Dendro Support

5 star – freedom-sworn, 4 star – festering desire or iron sting, 3 star – skyrider sword, 4pc deepwood memories, 4pc gilded dreams, 2pc deepwood memories & 2pc wanderer’s troupe, 2pc deepwood & 2pc emblem of severed fate, dendro resonance, reaction team.

best dendro traveller artifacts

With Sumeru now accessible to all Genshin Impact players, Travelers can now resonate with Dendro. Currently, the Traveler can use four out of the seven elements: Anemo, Geo, Electro, and Dendro. To add to the fun, maximizing the most out of each Element requires tweaks to your Traveler build. This is for my fellow handful of Traveler mains, because Dendro Traveler is fantastic.

Indicated in the Traveler’s Dendro Talents, Traveler has an emphasis on Energy Recharge. This suggests that Dendro Traveler should be used to constantly apply Dendro to enemies and should rely on dealing Dendro DMG.

Cyberpunk Graphic

The Traveler’s Dendro Elemental Skill – Razorgrass Blade – functions in a similar way to their Electro one. The Skill releases a wave of three Dendro shots, but does not provide bonus Elemental Particles for the Traveler’s Burst. But the Skill can do some good damage if you boost the Traveler’s Elemental Mastery. Razorgrass Blade’s DMG increases by 0.15% for every point of Elemental Mastery the Traveler possesses.

Best Weapons

The Freedom-Sworn increases Elemental Mastery by a set value, which will boost Dendro Reactions created by the Traveler. It also increases DMG by a percentage. When Freedom-Sworn triggers Elemental Reactions, its wielder gains a Sigil of Rebellion once every 0.5 seconds. This can occur even if the character isn’t on the field.

Once the character has 2 Sigils, they’ll be consumed to increase nearby party members ATK by a percentage and Normal, Charged, and Plunging Attack DMG by a percentage. This bonus lasts for 12 seconds. After consumption, the character will not gain any Sigils for 20 seconds.

Essentially, Freedom-Sworn automatically boosts Elemental Mastery and DMG. It will then increase ATK, Normal, Charged, and Plunging for a certain amount of time after triggering Elemental Reactions. Since Dendro Traveler should be creating as many Dendro Reactions as possible, Freedom-Sworn’s bonuses play into the Traveler’s usage.

Skyward Blade receives an honorable mention for its Energy Recharge boost, but its Weapon Skill can be better used by a Main DPS.

Probably the best 4 Star sword in the game, the Festering Desire was an event exclusive weapon from the introduction of Dragonspine. Festering Desire increases Energy Recharge, Elemental Skill DMG, and Elemental Skill CRIT Rate by a percentage. So this plays into cutting down on Traveler’s Burst cost and increasing Traveler’s Dendro DMG as much as possible.

If you don’t have the Festering Desire, you can also use the Iron Sting. As a craftable sword, Iron Sting is much easier to refine and ascend. Iron Sting increases Elemental Mastery by a set value. When dealing Elemental DMG, the sword increases all DMG by a percentage for 6 seconds. It allows for a maximum of two DMG stacks that can occur once every second.

Honorable mentions include Favonius Sword and Sacrificial Sword.

The Skyrider Sword’s Passive Skill grants a bonus percentage of Energy Recharge. When using an Elemental Burst, Skyrider Sword grants a 12% increase in ATK and Movement SPD for 15 seconds. The percentage goes up depending on the weapon’s Refinement. This will help cut down on the Traveler’s high Burst cost, especially for a C0 Traveler.

Best Artifact Sets

Overall, you should equip artifacts with Energy Recharge, Elemental Mastery, Dendro DMG Bonus, CRIT Rate, and CRIT DMG. This applies to both main stats and substats. Good luck.

best dendro traveller artifacts

This is one of two new Artifact Sets introduced in Sumeru. At 2 pieces, Deepwood Memories grants a 15% Dendro DMG Bonus. At 4 pieces, it reduces opponents’ Dendro RES by 30% for 8 seconds after they’re hit with an Elemental Skill or Burst. The character equipped with Deepwood does not have to be on the field to trigger the Dendro RES effect, making it perfect for the quick changes you’ll do with Dendro Traveler.

You can farm for Deepwood Memories in the Domain, Spire of Solitary Enlightenment. This is the Domain on the border of Liyue and Sumeru, just west of The Chasm. It’s also an easy Domain to unlock and access before even getting to Sumeru City.

The second of the two new Sumeru sets, Gilded Dreams is the other Artifact Set available through the Spire of Solitary Enlightenment. As the secondary set, you may have more luck farming for this set over Deepwood.

2 pieces of Gilded Dreams increases Elemental Mastery by 80 points. At 4 pieces, it grants buffs to its equipped character within 8 seconds of that character triggering an Elemental Reaction. For party members with the same Elemental Type as the Reaction, Gilded increases their ATK by 14%. For characters with a different Elemental Type, their Elemental Mastery is increased by 50. Each buff will apply to up to three characters that fit its criteria. The effect can be triggered once every 8 seconds and the equipped character doesn’t need to be on the field.

This combination grants the Traveler a 15% Dendro DMG Bonus as well as 80 Elemental Mastery. Because Elemental Mastery points directly increases Razorgrass Blade’s DMG, this combination is best if you want Dendro Traveler to function more as a Sub-DPS (or you just like seeing big green numbers).

Equipping 2 pieces of Gilded Dreams will do the same thing, so you have two options for increasing Elemental Mastery. Just choose from whichever set has better substats. Most likely, it will be Wanderer’s Troupe since it’s a common boss drop among the regular and weekly bosses.

This combination lends itself more to a true Support build, since 2 pieces of Severed Fate increases Energy Recharge by 20%. Emblem will contribute to reducing the Traveler’s Elemental Burst as much as possible, allowing for more frequent Dendro AoE via the Lea Lotus Lamp. Generally speaking, equip Wanderer’s Troupe for more damage. Equip Emblem for more frequent Bursts.

If you’re pulling for Tighnari as your Dendro Main DPS or if you want to use Collei, try experimenting with how Dendro Resonance affects your team.

One of your other two teammates should be elements that react with Dendro – Electro, Hydro, and Pyro. Since there are two slots open, doubling up on one of the three available elements may be useful.

Alternatively, you can fill the remaining spot with Geo for shields or Anemo for Swirls Reactions. Sumeru has a lot of water lying around, making Hydro infused Swirls very easy to create.

Teammates for the last two spots include Xiangling, Bennett, Thoma, Tartaglia, Kokomi, Fischl, and Kuki Shinobu.

Instead of going for the Dendro Resonance, this team focuses on creating different Elemental Reactions. Instead of completely maximizing your Dendro Reactions, this team build allows for more variance in characters and Elements. For example, instead of double Dendro and double Electro, you can swap Collei or Tighnari for a Hydro character. This makes it possible to trigger Bloom and Electro-Charged reactions.

In this team, the Traveler should mostly be used for off-field damage or constant application of Dendro for reactions. Otherwise, you can have fun with whatever you want, like freezing enemies with Cryo and Hydro or going for additional Swirl damage. A team of Xingqiu, Traveler, Kaeya, and Thoma is a good place to start.

DThe Traveler once again gains new powers – check out our Dendro Traveler Guide for the character's best weapon build and artifact build.

The Dendro Traveler has been out for quite some while now, and many veteran players are gung-ho on trying out all sorts of Dendro reactions and team compositions. The Traveler only used to be a band-aid solution for players who lack key characters needed to progress or clear content and thus has been gathering dust ever since. In version 3.0 , however, the Traveler’s viability in endgame content has skyrocketed, and might even be necessary for certain teams once his full constellations become available.

In this Dendro Traveler Guide article, we will be discussing Dendro Traveler’s abilities, best weapons, artifacts, and team compositions.

Dendro Traveler Abilities and Talents Overview

Traveler’s Elemental Skill is Razorgrass Blade. Traveler sprays slicing leaves to the front, dealing moderate damage. This ability has a cooldown of 8 seconds. This is an extremely basic ability that does its job well: apply Dendro and generate energy. Since Traveler is more of a support, don’t expect to deal much damage with this ability without much investment.

Traveler’s Elemental Burst is Surgent Manifestation. Traveler creates a Lea Lotus Lamp that deals periodic Dendro DMG and reacts to the first relevant element it reacts to. If it reacts to Hydro, the lamp’s AoE is massively increased. If it reacts to Electro, its activation frequency is increased. If it reacts to Pyro, it explodes and fizzles out, dealing major AoE Dendro DMG.

Traveler’s Burst is an important part of his kit and is the ability that allows him to be a valuable Dendro support for teams that need him. Thanks to its large AoE and good uptime, one can create a dizzying display of elemental reactions when fighting groups of enemies.

Traveler’s first passive talent is Verdant Overgrowth. For every second the Lea Lotus Lamp stays on the field, it grants 6 Elemental Mastery for characters within it, up to 60 EM.

Traveler’s second passive talent is Verdant Luxury. This talent grants the Traveler bonus DMG to their abilities for every point of Elemental Mastery possessed. Razorgrass Blade’s damage is increased by 0.15% for every point, while the Lamp gets a 0.1% damage increase per point of EM.

Dendro Traveler Guide: Best Weapons for the Dendro Traveler

Freedom-Sworn – A part of the “Millennial Movement” that wanders amidst the winds. Increases DMG by 10%. When the character wielding this weapon triggers Elemental Reactions, they gain a Sigil of Rebellion. This effect can be triggered once every 0.5s and can be triggered even if said character is not on the field. When you possess 2 Sigils of Rebellion, all of them will be consumed and all nearby party members will obtain “Millennial Movement: Song of Resistance” for 12s. “Millennial Movement: Song of Resistance” increases Normal, Charged and Plunging Attack DMG by 16% and increases ATK by 20%. Once this effect is triggered, you will not gain Sigils of Rebellion for 20s. Of the many effects of the “Millennial Movement,” buffs of the same type will not stack.

This is quite the premium choice, but it works great for the Traveler nonetheless. It provides a lot of EM which helps with the Traveler’s reaction damage, but the weapon’s passive is the major eye-catcher. Creating two elemental reactions to activate the passive is quite easy, and the result is a major damage increase for your team’s overall DPS.

Favonius Sword – CRIT Hits have a 60% chance to generate a small amount of Elemental Particles, which will regenerate 6 Energy for the character. Can only occur once every 12s.

The weapon of choice for many supports, thanks to its availability and effectiveness. It grants massive Energy Recharge for the character, at the same time generating Energy particles which can be funneled to your energy-hungry party members. The only caveat to this weapon is the slight Crit Rate requirement to proc its passive.

Best Artifacts for the Dendro Traveler

Deepwood Memories

2-Piece: Dendro DMG Bonus +15%.

4-Piece: After Elemental Skills or Bursts hit opponents, the targets' Dendro RES will be decreased by 30% for 8s. This effect can be triggered even if the equipping character is not on the field.

If you’re running a Dendro DPS like Tighnari with the Traveler, this artifact set is a necessity so that the main DPS can equip a more damaging set like Wanderer’s Troupe.

Instructor Set

2-Piece: Increases Elemental Mastery by 80.

4-Piece: Upon triggering an Elemental Reaction, increases all party members' Elemental Mastery by 120 for 8s.

For every other team that doesn’t rely on pure Dendro DPS, this set is a major boost for Quicken, Aggravate, and Hyperbloom reactions. Seriously, the team-wide 120 EM bonus is too good to pass up.

Best Team Compositions for the Dendro Traveler

Raiden Finally Touches Grass (again) – This team consists of Raiden , Dendro Traveler, another Dendro support like Collei , and a Hydro support like Kokomi or Yelan . Raiden’s Elemental Skill guarantees AoE Electro application from almost any attack, which will react with the supports’ Dendro and Bloom cores. This generates a massive amount of Aggravate and Hyperbloom reactions, which can keep going on and on thanks to Raiden’s energy battery from her Burst.

Yae Miko Aggravate Turrets – This one has the same setup as the one before, but can specialize in dealing single target damage with proper execution. Yae Miko is the main DPS, Traveler, and another Dendro support for Catalyze applications, and Sucrose or Kazuha to apply Electro RES shred and provide more Elemental buffs. Since Anemo cannot swirl Dendro, Electro RES reduction is guaranteed because of the Viridescent Venerer set.

You can also replace Yae Miko with Fischl for this team, which can perform well but only with some uptime and burst damage issues with Oz.

Dendro Traveler’s performance is such an unexpected turnout since he has always been underwhelming to the eyes of many. Now that the Traveler is perfectly viable for much of the endgame content, we can expect more once we have access to all of his constellations. We might even see more synergy once Hoyoverse releases more characters in the upcoming patches.

We hope our Dendro Traveler Guide helps you in building your first Dendro-centered party. For more Genshin Impact Guides, click here .

The Best Dendro Traveler Support Build on Genshin Impact | Weapons, Artifacts, and Team Composition

Image of Franklin Bellone Borges

Currently, among all Dendro supports in Genshin Impact , none is able to perform the role better than the Dnedro variant of the Traveler , thanks to their ability to constantly apply the element all while also boosting your team’s overall Elemental Mastery. But how should you build the Dendro Traveler? Now, to answer that and more here’s the best Dendro Traveler support build on Genshin Impact .

The Best Dendro Traveler Support Build in Genshin Impact: Artifacts

As, for they to excel in this role, the Dendro Traveler needs a build focused on increasing their prowess as a Dendro application specialist, which shines in Aggravate and Burning compositions, our main pick for an Aggerravate/Burning-focused team will be the use of either a full Noblesse Oblige set, thanks to its team-focused ATK buff, or that of a 4-piece Emblem of Severed Fate , thanks to its boost in both ER and Burst damage.

If you want to use the Traveler as support for Bloom compositions, our main recommendation will be the use of a 4-piece Deepwood Memories, thanks to its boost in Dendro damage and ability to lower the Dendro resistance of enemies.

You can check out the best main stat for each artifact piece below:

  • Flower of Life : HP%.
  • Plume of Death : ATK%.
  • Sands of Eon: ATK% / Energy Recharge (ER is only recommended for those who did not reach the threshold of 180-200 ER, or who are not using teams featuring Fischl or the Raiden Shogun).
  • Goblet of Eonothem : Dendro DMG Bonus.
  • Circlet of Logos:  CRIT Rate / CRIT DMG

It’s worth pointing out that, if you plan on using the Traveler as a sub-DPS, our main recommendation will be the use of a 4-piece Gilded Dreams set , as its 4-piece effect will allow you to gain (when using the Traveler as the sole Dendro unit) 150 EM.

The Best Weapons for the Dendro Traveler

As, in order for this build to work, you will need to be able both use their Elemental Burst as soon as possible as well as provide buffs to the team, if possible, our main recommendation will be the use a 4-star sword Sapwood Blade (R5). The weapon earned its spot thanks to its ER substat and passive, which, in R5, can provide your DPS with up to 120 EM at short intervals.

With that said, here are the best weapons for a Support Dendro Traveler, including both the best 5-star and a few F2P options:

  • 5-Star: Skyward Blade
  • 4-star: Sapwood Blade (R5) / Sacrificial Sword / Favonius Sword / Festering Desire
  • F2P Alternatives: Sapwood Blade / Favonius Sword

What Talents to Prioritize

As you will need to make constant use of their Elemental Skill and Burst while in combat, we recommend that you focus on leveling up their Elemental Skill, and then their Burst, in that order. To recap, here’s in what order we recommend that you build the Dendro Traveler’s talents:

Elemental Skill > Elemental Burst > Normal Attacks.

Dendro-Traveler-build

Best Teams for the Dendro Traveler

Although you can fit the Dendro Traveler in a wide array of compositions, taking into account the game’s current meta, we recommend that you make use of them in Catalyze compositions featuring an Electro DPS, an EM/ Elemental Damage support, and a healer. With that said, you can check out a few teams sure to bring the most out of the Dendro Traveler below:

  • Keqing/Fischl + Dendro Traveler + Jean + Kaedehara Kazuha
  • Yae Miko + Dendro Traveler + Jean / Kaedehara Kazuha + Raiden Shogun / Fischl
  • Kuki Shinobu + Dendro Traveler + Sucrose + Albedo

When you play Genshin Impact for the first time, you're given a choice to select between two twins, Lumine and Aether . This will be your main character in the game, the Traveler . Canonically, Hoyoverse has made Aether the main character, while Lumine plays the role of the other twin in the storyline.

RELATED: Genshin Impact: Best Builds For Tighnari

The Traveler has the ability to resonate with any element in Teyvat as far as you interact with the Statue Of The Seven in the nation of the respective element . Sumeru is the fourth main region in the game, allowing you to get access to Dendro Traveler.

  • Weapon - Mistsplitter Reforged
  • Artifact Set - Deepwood Memories

Since you're using the Traveler with a certain element, it is only fair for your first instinct to be to make a build around elemental damage . Luckily, Dendro Traveler has a ton of applications for their element , making it possible to base an entire build around that part of damage output.

The artifact set required for this piece is undoubtedly Deepwood Memories . Every artifact set has a special bonus when you put together two or four of its pieces. The bonuses provided by this artifact set are as follows:

  • Two-Piece Set: Increases the Dendro DMG dealt by 15 percent.
  • Four-Piece Set: Hitting an opponent with Elemental Skill or Burst decreases their Dendro RES by 30 percent.

This artifact set unlocks when you get to Sumeru, which can be a long way away if you've just started playing the game. Currently, you can also get this set from the special boxes you get after clearing a particular Abyss floor for the first time .

As for the weapon, the elemental damage build definitely fits perfectly with the Mistsplitter Reforged . This weapon was released alongside Kamisato Ayaka and is currently her signature weapon. Since Traveler can't deal Dendro damage on normal attacks, this weapon can give them up to a 28 percent Dendro DMG bonus at refinement one .

With the correct artifact set and weapon, the Traveler can deal significantly more damage with their Elemental Skill and Burst, which can further be increased by applying the Burst with Electro, increasing its attacking speed for the entire duration . With their sixth constellation, you can get another 12 percent Dendro DMG bonus .

This build relies on the Traveler dealing a ton of damage, which is also dependent on your ATK percent, Elemental Mastery, and the Crit ratio . Thankfully, the weapon has up to 44.1 percent Crit DMG making it easier to get the perfect ratio.

  • Weapon - Freedom-Sworn
  • Artifact Set - Gilded Dreams

While it's fun to see the Traveler dish out a ton of Dendro damage, it's even better to see multiple damage numbers because of the sheer amount of reactions you can trigger with their skill set. The Elemental Burst stays on the field for 12-15 seconds, making it perfect to trigger Dendro reactions.

Further, when you look at their passive and active talents, it's obvious that a little reaction build is incentivized by the developers . Firstly, their Elemental Burst allows you to buff it in different ways using Hydro, Electro, or Pyro on it and their buffs are as follows:

  • Hydro: Increases the area-of-effect for the lamp formed after using the Burst and its attacks.
  • Electro: As mentioned above, this increases the attacking speed of the lamp.
  • Pyro: Being the destructive element that it is, Pyro explodes the lamp after a short delay, dealing damage in the area.

You will notice that with every single buff, the Dendro DMG dealt by the Burst is increased . This allows for various Dendro reactions to occur along with this. Further, her passive talent Verdant Overgrowth increases the active character's Elemental Mastery within the Burst AoE.

The second passive talent, Verdant Luxury also increases the Traveler's Elemental Skill and Burst damage based on their Elemental Mastery , making it perfectly combined with the build.

To buff this even further, Freedom-Sworn can give an immense damage boost to the active characters whenever you trigger two Dendro reactions with any element. This works the best if the characters with the other element have a ton of damage output from Normal, Charged, or Plunging attacks.

Finally, Gilded Dreams will increase your Elemental Mastery even further because you'll be using characters with elements other than Dendro for this team, giving you up to 230 raw EM for free if you have the four-piece set .

  • Weapon - Sacrificial Sword
  • Artifact Set - Emblem of Severed Fate

Most of the Dendro Traveler's damage comes out of their Elemental Burst . While the Elemental Skill can also deal damage, it can only be used once every 12 seconds at the base level, and it has one-time damage. On the other hand, Burst deals damage continuously for a few seconds .

Having a run-time of up to 15 seconds, the Burst also has a cooldown of 20 seconds. With this build, you'll most likely have your Burst ready by the time it comes off cooldown . Sacrificial Sword has a big play in this and is a very important part of this build because of its passive.

Apart from giving you 61.3 percent Energy Recharge at the maximum level , it also allows you to use your Elemental Skill twice, giving you double the particles. Apart from this, Traveler's first constellation also provides extra energy whenever you use your Elemental Skill .

You have a 40-80 percent chance of getting an extra Elemental Skill with the Sacrificial Sword. This becomes higher with the refinement of your weapon, making it essential to have multiple copies of it . Since it's a four-star weapon, this can be much easier with a bit of luck.

Since you are going to have a lot of Energy Recharge with this build, Emblem of Severed Fate automatically becomes the best choice . The four-piece set increases your Elemental Burst damage based on your Energy Recharge, which is also increased with the two-piece set.

There are multiple possible set bonuses that can be useful on the Traveler based on the build you're going for, and this is the same for their stats . Here are the artifact main stat and sub stat priority for the main character:

While every other playable character in the game comes with six talents, the Traveler is special and only comes with five of them . The last passive with every character usually doesn't affect in battle. Regardless, the main character still has three active Talents that can be upgraded by ten levels.

While the ascension level is shared by the Traveler across all elements, the Talents are different with each one of them, and thus need to be upgraded differently . As for Dendro Traveler, her Elemental Burst is the definite first choice to upgrade no matter what build you're going for.

This is followed by Elemental Skill, and then you can upgrade your Normal Attack talents if you like the character , but it's not required since you'll never use her basic attacks.

Here are the constellations for Dendro Traveler that can be acquired for free by playing through the game and exploring:

  • Symbiotic Creeper - Regenerates extra energy whenever the Elemental Skill hits an opponent.
  • Green Resilience - Increases the duration of the lamp made by Elemental Burst by three seconds.
  • Whirling Weeds - Increases the level of Elemental Skill by three.
  • Treacle Glass - When you apply Electro, Pyro, or Hydro to the Elemental Burst, it instantly gives you five stacks of the Verdant Overgrowth passive.
  • Viridian Transience - Increases the level of Elemental Burst by three.
  • Withering Aggregation - The Dendro DMG Bonus of the characters inside the Elemental Burst with Verdant Overgrowth passive applied increases by 12 percent. Further, if you apply the Burst with an element, the DMG Bonus for that element is also increased by 12 percent.

Dendro Traveler

Dendro Traveler Build Guide

Traveler will gain Dendro power upon interracting with Statue of the Seven in Sumeru. Electro Traveler usually used as energy recharge support, but this role can be replaced completely if you have Raiden Shogun.

Dendro Traveler – Dendro Support Build

Dendro traveler works best as dendro support, applying dendro with elemental skill and burst. Supported by new set of artifacts and luckily, fully compatible with newly craftable weapon: Sapwood Blade.

Make sure to reach 180% Energy Recharge before investing to other stats/substats.

Additional Notes

Artifact Main Stats & Substats

Dendro Traveler Best Team

Dendro traveler work best with bloom+hyperbloom and aggravate+quicken elemental reactions (more read here ).

Burning isn’t included because when Lotus Lea Lamp (burst product) met pyro it will explode and dissapear, just one time damage. Resulting less damage compared to other dendro reactions.

Quicken + Aggravate Team

Quicken Aggravate Team

For quicken and aggravate team, dendro traveler can work with most electro dps character: Keqing , Fischl , Yae Miko , etc. Recommended to use 2 electro character for High Voltage elemental resonance.

High Voltage Elemental Resonance

For this example, I’m using Keqing as main dps, Fischl OZ as sub dps, and Jean as healer. Change any slot with your desired character. For example, change Jean with Kazuha to gather enemy in one place, change Fischl with Kuki Shinobu to fill healer role, etc.

Bloom + Hyperbloom Team

For hyperbloom team, required elemental resonance is 2 Dendro for Sprawling Greenery elemental resonance. while the other resonance, depend on what team you have.

Sprawling Greenery Elemental Resonance

For example, IF you are using character like Nilou , Yelan , or BOTH . You might want to use 2 hydro character in your team for it’s extra 25% HP since both Nilou and Yelan DMG scales off their HP.

Soothing Water Elemental Resonance

But IF you are using other Hydro character as Bloom executor, you can ignore Soothing Water elemental resonance.

With that in mind, here’s example of recommended bloom and hyperbloom team:

Best Nilou Team

For this example, I’m using dendro traveler + collei (free from previous event) for quick apply dendro, Nilou as DPS, and Kokomi as sub dps and healer. Kokomi DMG and healing also scales off her HP so having 2 hydro for extra 25% HP is a boost.

Dendro Traveler

The Dendro Traveler or Dendro Main Character (DMC) is a 5-star Dendro Sword character who is available for free after unlocking a Statue of the Seven in Sumeru and aligning with the Dendro Element. Embodying the primary themes of its Element, the Dendro Traveler gives life to any team through enabling reactions and giving buffs.

Dendro Traveler Build

Off-Field Enabler

This is the recommended way to play Dendro Traveler. The bulk of their kit is fully functional after deploying their Burst, especially as their buffs only affect the on-field character. Despite this, you still want to switch DMC on-field from time to time if possible to use their Elemental Skill to generate much-needed Dendro particles and to apply more Dendro to enemies.

On-Field Enabler

It must be said that there’s no real merit to using Dendro Traveler on-field apart from just wanting to see your character a lot. While it is suboptimal, it is possible to construct teams such that the on-field character does not matter as much since Elements are applied from other off-field characters—directly or indirectly. This can be the case in some Hyperbloom or Burgeon team compositions. The Quick Guide will not focus on this playstyle, but it will be addressed in the full guide.

Character Overview

Talent priority.

Raising Dendro Traveler to level 90 is not necessary. However, in certain teams such as Nilou Pure Bloom or Quicken, raising their level can result in much higher Transformative/Additive Reaction damage.

Burst > Skill

It is worth noting that their kit is cohesive even with low investment on Talents, and none of their buffs scale with Talent Levels. However, investing in these can lead to more personal Talent damage.

It is not recommended to raise the Normal Attack Talent.

best dendro traveller artifacts

Normal Attack: Foreign Fieldcleaver

Description

Normal Attack Performs up to 5 rapid strikes.

Charged Attack Consumes a certain amount of Stamina to unleash 2 rapid sword strikes.

Plunging Attack Plunges from mid-air to strike the ground below, damaging opponents along the path and dealing AoE DMG upon impact.

The same Normal Attack Talent as seen in the Traveler’s other Elemental Alignments. It does not share Talent Levels with the other Alignments, and does not scale very well with levels. It’s generally recommended to ignore this Talent.

best dendro traveller artifacts

Elemental Skill: Razorgrass Blade

With a flourish of your blade, you unleash a spray of razor-sharp leaves that go before you and deal Dendro DMG .

Very straightforward ability. It generates 2-3 Dendro particles per cast, and has a deceptively large horizontal range that fans out from the Traveler. That said, it has an extremely limited vertical range so you should be mindful about not missing the enemies.

Aim to use this ability about twice per rotation and catch the particles while Dendro Traveler is on-field, as they sorely need the Energy generated from this ability.

Elemental Burst: Surgent Manifestation

Calling upon the might of the flora all around you, you create a Lea Lotus Lamp. This Lamp will deal continuous Dendro DMG to opponents within its AoE.

Lotuslight Transfiguration The Lea Lotus Lamp wi ll undergo the following changes after it comes into contact with Hydro / Electro / Pyro :

  • Hydro : the Lamp’s AoE and the AoE of its attacks are increased.
  • Electro : the Lamp’s ATK SPD is increased.
  • Pyro : the Lamp will explode after a short delay and then disappear, dealing AoE Dendro DMG .

The Lea Lotus Lamp can only undergo one Lotuslight Transfiguration in its duration. Only one Lamp created by the Traveler can exist at any one time.

This is the most important Talent in Dendro Traveler’s arsenal. This ability snapshots the Traveler’s stats right before the Lamp is dropped. The Lamp is immediately placed in front of the Traveler on cast, and it can only be transfigured once throughout its duration.

The expected amount of Dendro application from the Burst is 6 times, but it can potentially yield one extra application if you transfigure it with either Hydro or Electro immediately after it drops or just after it hits a target. Enemy attacks that apply an Element can also cause the Lamp to transfigure.

As this is their primary method for applying Dendro from off-field, knowing which Elements to use and for what reason can be important depending on the situation. A quick rundown for each one:

  • Hydro — very useful as it quadruples the effective AoE of each hit, and more than doubles the area coverage at which the Burst can hit enemies; this also produces a Dendro Core next to the Lamp since the Transfiguration triggers a Bloom reaction on it.
  • Electro — leads to more total hits and damage in single-target situations, but is otherwise not as valuable as Hydro Transfiguration if both are options; the Dendro application rate is the same as Hydro Transfiguration due to ICD.
  • Pyro — almost never viable unless you really need the Burst nuke; this is oftentimes triggered by enemies, so make sure to transfigure the Lamp before it gets hit by enemy Pyro attacks or by Burning AoE (facing away from Burning enemies when casting Burst conveniently places the Lamp away from them).

In teams where multiple Transfigurations are options, great care must be taken while executing the rotation to get the desired Transfiguration:

Electro (in single-target) ≥ Hydro > Electro (in AoE) >>> Pyro

The decision on which Element to transfigure the Lamp into may also be influenced by the slight buff from C6. However, it is generally not recommended to complicate rotations just to secure a specific one if it is not convenient or appropriate to the situation. The important thing is to make sure you transfigure it with Hydro or Electro before an enemy does so with Pyro.

Additional techniques and interactions about the Burst will be covered in the full guide.

best dendro traveller artifacts

Ascension 1 Passive: Verdant Overgrowth

Lea Lotus Lamp will obtain one level of Overflowing Lotuslight every second it is on the field, increasing the Elemental Mastery of active character(s) within its AoE by 6. Overflowing Lotuslight has a maximum of 10 stacks.

This Passive allows Dendro Traveler to support the on-field character by giving them a ramping 60 EM buff as long as they stay within the Lamp’s AoE. It’s a relevant Passive as you generally want to play DMC in reaction comps where the added Elemental Mastery can be useful.

Do note that this Passive and the Constellations built around it are contingent on the Lamp to stay on the field. Thus, it is recommended to play around the Lamp’s AoE and transfigure it with Hydro or Electro as soon as possible.

best dendro traveller artifacts

Ascension 4 Passive: Verdant Luxury

Every point of Elemental Mastery the Traveler possesses increases the DMG dealt by Razorgrass Blade by 0.15% and the DMG dealt by Surgent Manifestation by 0.1%.

This is a useful Passive that rewards Dendro Traveler for building some Elemental Mastery, which is especially relevant in Quicken-based teams for their personal damage, and can be slightly useful in Pure Bloom teams where Dendro Traveler sometimes triggers the reaction. In most other teams, it just makes EM less of a dead stat if you happen to get it on substats.

This Talent also allows DMC to “snapshot” all EM buffs (including A1 buff) onto their Burst by converting EM to DMG Bonus, but only whenever they go off-field. The DMG Bonus obtained via this method updates itself whenever Traveler goes back on-field, even if the Burst was already cast.

All that said, it is worth noting that this does not encourage intentionally stacking Elemental Mastery as that is still dependent on the team you’re using DMC in. More on this can be found in the Artifact Stats Section .

Constellations

All of the Dendro Traveler’s Constellations are free to obtain and can be achieved as follows:

How to obtain

  • Act II – The Morn a Thousand Roses Brings
  • Act IV – King Deshret and the Three Magi
  • Act V – Akasha Pulses, the Kalpa Flame Rises
  • Statue Lv. 3 – 42 Dendroculi total
  • Statue Lv. 5 – 95 Dendroculi total (+53 over previous)
  • Statue Lv. 7 – 157 Dendroculi total (+62 over previous)

It is generally recommended to play through the game to obtain all of their Constellations as they contribute a decent amount to Dendro Traveler’s performance in their teams, on top of collecting the sweet rewards that accompany that fruitful journey.

best dendro traveller artifacts

Constellation 1: Symbiotic Creeper

After Razorgrass Blade hits an opponent, it will regenerate 3.5 Energy for the Traveler.

A helpful Constellation that slightly alleviates Dendro Traveler’s Energy concerns. Every time your Skill hits an enemy, Dendro Traveler gains a consistent 3.5 Flat Energy that is not affected by Energy Recharge nor the number of enemies hit. This encourages you to use your Skill as much as possible. Failing to hit an enemy means losing both the Dendro particles and the 3.5 Energy.

best dendro traveller artifacts

Constellation 2: Green Resilience

Lea Lotus Lamp ‘s duration is increased by 3s.

This is the most valuable Constellation to obtain by far, as it increases the uptime of the most important Talent in their kit. It provides one more Dendro application per rotation which matters for a lot of Dendro teams, on top of increasing their personal damage.

best dendro traveller artifacts

Constellation 3: Whirling Weeds

Increases the Level of Razorgrass Blade by 3. Maximum upgrade level is 15.

Slight damage upgrade to their Skill. Cool.

best dendro traveller artifacts

Constellation 4: Treacle Grass

After the Lea Lotus Lamp triggers a Lotuslight Transfiguration, it will obtain 5 stacks of the Overflowing Lotuslight effect from the Passive Talent “Verdant Overgrowth.” You must have unlocked this Passive Talent first.

A helpful Constellation that significantly speeds up the ramping buff. If Transfiguration is triggered immediately, it essentially halves the time required to obtain the max EM buff from ~10s to ~5s. This increases the effective total uptime of the max buff to about two-thirds of the full Lamp duration.

Do note that this does not increase the max amount of EM obtained from the A1 Passive.

best dendro traveller artifacts

Constellation 5: Viridian Transience

Increases the Level of Surgent Manifestation by 3. Maximum upgrade level is 15.

Slight damage upgrade to their Burst, which is usually the majority of their damage. Cool, cool.

best dendro traveller artifacts

Constellation 6: Withering Aggregation

The Dendro DMG Bonus of the character under the effect of Overflowing Lotuslight as created by the Lea Lotus Lamp is increased by 12%. If the Lamp has experienced a Lotuslight Transfiguration previously, the character will also gain 12% DMG Bonus for the corresponding element.

This Constellation gives DMC more ways to synergize with their team by providing a decent buff to on-field Dendro units, and potentially Hydro or Electro units, depending on the Transfiguration. As it is tied to the A1 Passive, you must keep in mind that the buff is only available to the on-field character and is strictly limited within the Lamp’s AoE.

The Dendro DMG Bonus and the accompanying DMG Bonus for the transfigured Element can all be snapshotted, but Dendro Traveler cannot fully take advantage of the DMG Bonus for their personal damage as their Burst snapshots right before the C6 buff is applied. That said, the buff can still apply to subsequent Elemental Skills used after casting the Burst whenever they go back on-field.

The general recommended combo that works for any situation is as follows:

E N1 Q — E N2 (Skill -> Normal Attack -> Burst  —Swap—  Skill -> Normal Attack 2x)

You typically start rotations with the Elemental Skill, then follow it up with a Normal Attack before using Burst. This method allows Dendro Traveler to catch the particles before swapping off; this is also the same reason for using Normal Attacks after the second Elemental Skill cast. Doing Normal Attacks also lets you trigger effects from weapons or from abilities such as Xingqiu’s Burst.

It can sometimes be beneficial to swap out early for the second Skill use, but this must be understood as something that increases Dendro Traveler’s ER requirement.

ER Requirements

These numbers are approximate and must not be taken at face value; ER requirements will vary depending on the team and how it is played. For a more accurate estimate of your ER requirements, use Zakharov’s Energy Recharge Calculator . For the following estimates, it is assumed that Dendro Traveler is catching their own particles; otherwise, the ER requirements increase significantly depending on the team.

It is highly recommended to use 2 Skills per rotation and to use Normal Attacks up until you catch the Dendro particles on Dendro Traveler.

Note: ER requirements are very volatile and can be dependent on many things. Favonius procs may shave off ER requirements by anywhere from 15% to 30% ER. Other units such as Raiden Shogun may change ER needs significantly. Use the ER Calculator for your team.

Artifact Stats

*CRIT Rate Circlets have higher priority if Dendro Traveler is using Favonius Sword

The main priority is to obtain enough ER to use Burst off-cooldown, so it is viable to use the wrong main stat if the piece offers more ER from the substats.

Substat Priority

ER > EM 1 > CRIT > EM 2 ≥ ATK% > EM 3

The value of EM depends on the team Dendro Traveler is used in:

1 Pure Bloom 2 Quicken 3 Hyperbloom/Burgeon

Artifact Sets

The weapons are arranged in order of recommendation per section. Weapons that are not mentioned are not recommended.

Highly Recommended Options

These weapon options are suited for general purposes and are useful across all team archetypes that Dendro Traveler is used in. Since these weapons can provide ample amounts of ER, they may allow for EM or ATK Sands if aiming for personal damage.

Other Weapon Options

A section for less flexible weapon options that may be used if ER requirements are already achieved. Weapons with EM substats can also be valuable for Pure Bloom teams where Dendro Traveler is the trigger, typically accompanied by ER Sands.

Optimizer Config

If your intent is to optimize Dendro Traveler fully for damage with all the different considerations in mind, it is recommended to use the Genshin Optimizer to find the best build for your account and teams through the Multi-Optimization Target Config option. A Traveler-centric compilation of these configs and how to use them can be found here .

Dendro Traveler Hyperbloom

Hyperbloom teams are simple to build yet very effective at dealing with most content. Dendro Traveler’s Dendro application is enough for Hyperbloom teams to flourish and the team structure offers enough flexibility to allow different kinds of strategies that make use of the Hyperbloom reaction.

The general idea is to build an Electro trigger with high amounts of EM and to bring a unit that applies steady amounts of Hydro. An alternative idea is to use an Anemo unit in the 4th slot to trigger the Hyperblooms instead of the Electro unit. Another kind of team (Quickbloom) can use slower Hydro application to make Hyperblooms less frequent, but in so doing allows the Electro and Dendro units to trigger more Aggravates and Spreads.

Notable Teammates

Example teams.

This is not a comprehensive list of teams, and the inclusion of a certain team or lack thereof does not necessarily indicate the power level of the team in question. This list is not ranked.

Dendro Traveler — Raiden Shogun — Xingqiu — Baizhu

Using the extra Dendro application from Baizhu, this team allows Raiden Shogun to be used on-field with an EM-focused build to trigger multiple Hyperblooms accompanied by Xingqiu’s fast Hydro application.

Dendro Traveler — Fischl — Kokomi — Sucrose

This team uses Sucrose to group enemies and trigger Hyperblooms off of Fischl’s Electro application under the safety of Kokomi’s healing and consistent Hydro application.

Dendro Traveler — Kuki Shinobu — Candace — Beidou

A Quickswap-oriented team that uses Candace’s slower Hydro application to maintain high Quicken uptime with the added safety from Shinobu and Beidou’s defensive capabilities.

Dendro Traveler Quicken

Quicken teams are very straightforward: they make use of the Quicken reaction to make every count of Elemental application matter. In the case of Dendro Traveler, their Dendro application is enough to maintain full Quicken uptime for all units that need it. This also allows Dendro Traveler to deal a decent amount of personal damage if built for it.

The general idea is to pick an Electro or Dendro unit to be the focus of the team, then adding in supporting characters to round it up. Dendro Traveler’s supportive buffs are very welcome in a team like this, especially when using 4pc Noblesse Oblige, 4pc Deepwood Memories or 4pc Instructor.

Dendro Traveler — Keqing — Fischl — Sayu

This team uses Sayu to apply VV Shred and heal the team, allowing Fischl and Keqing to provide a steady stream of Electro DMG safely.

Dendro Traveler — Yae Miko — Nahida — Zhongli

A Double Dendro team with Nahida allows DMC to build offensively, on top of enabling massive Spreads from Nahida and off-field Aggravates from Yae Miko, all while under the support and protection of Zhongli.

Dendro Traveler — Beidou — Kuki Shinobu — Sucrose

This is a team that uses Sucrose to group enemies together, buff the entire team, trigger multiple Aggravated Swirls, and drive Beidou safely from a decent range thanks to Shinobu’s healing.

Dendro Traveler Burgeon

Burgeon teams are a little more complicated than the other teams due to the inherent interaction between Dendro and Pyro, which is Burning. Dendro Traveler, true to their Elemental affinity, does not function well with unregulated fire because it can potentially remove their Lamp in the heat of battle — aside from Burning also making it harder to Bloom. In spite of this, Burgeon teams remain to be quite effective at dealing with most content especially when you tailor your team accordingly, and by playing with fire in the right way.

The general idea is to always plan out your rotation such that Dendro Traveler comes immediately after or before a Hydro unit.

Make sure not to drop a persisting Pyro ability before you’ve made sure that Dendro Traveler’s Burst has been transfigured safely, unless you already know what you’re doing.

Since Burning has a small AoE, it can also transfigure the Lamp if enemies come into contact with it. One trick to prevent this is to face away from the Burning enemies before dropping the Lamp, as its location will always be wherever the Traveler is facing.

Due to Burgeon having inherent self-damage, it is necessary to run healers or defensive units.

Dendro Traveler — Thoma — Kokomi — Fischl

With Thoma as the main trigger, this team uses Kokomi to drive the team while Fischl mitigates Burning, thus allowing Dendro Cores to be triggered at a steady rate.

Dendro Traveler — Xiangling — Tartaglia — Bennett

A classic team with a new flavor: this team allows Tartaglia to Vape his big hits while simultaneously using his fast Hydro application to let Xiangling Vaporize her Burst and trigger Burgeons as additional damage, with Bennett rounding up the team with his healing and ATK buffs.

Dendro Traveler — Bennett — Xingqiu — Kazuha

In this team, Kazuha triggers Burgeons by absorbing Pyro from Bennett’s Burst with strategic use of Xingqiu’s orbitals and Rain Swords to apply Hydro and mitigate the Burning.

Dendro Traveler Nilou

Pure Bloom teams are specialized teams that take advantage of the Bloom reaction to deal massive amounts of AoE Dendro damage in quick succession. While highly effective in AoE content, these teams can also function well against bosses when built right.

The Quick Guide will only be focusing on Pure Bloom teams with Nilou in them as they are the most effective versions of this archetype.

The most recommended approach to team-building is to use Dendro Traveler with another Dendro unit to play Double Dendro compositions with the goal of creating as many Bountiful Cores as possible. Although the Bloom ownership is harder to track, the Hydro units with slower Hydro application would generally trigger a good amount of them. It would still encourage building EM whenever possible since it is highly likely that Dendro Traveler will also be triggering some of the Blooms.

It is not recommended to play DMC as a Solo Dendro trigger because it would result in lesser Dendro Cores generated, not to mention the increased difficulty in maintaining a good ER to EM ratio to Burst every rotation.

It is important to establish that Bloom teams, like Burgeon teams, also have self-damage built into their core reactions. As such, it is imperative to have healing or defensive options in the team.

Dendro Traveler — Nilou — Barbara — Collei

A classic Bloom team that uses Barbara for her Burst healing and off-field Hydro application that keeps the team alive, with Collei helping the team by supplying more Dendro application.

Dendro Traveler — Nilou — Kokomi — Nahida

Similar to the team above, this team uses Nahida to increase the production of Bountiful Cores while using Kokomi’s reliable healing and Hydro application to keep the team going.

Dendro Traveler — Nilou — Xingqiu — Yaoyao

With the introduction of Yaoyao as a powerful healer, units like Xingqiu can be used for their single-target damage and added comfort to engage against different kinds of enemy setups.

Genshin Impact Traveler (Dendro) Build

Dendro

Best Traveler (Dendro) Builds

SUPPORT Regarding Main Stats: Prioritize maintaining their burst uptime. The ER needs for Dendro Traveler would be significantly greater if they are the only Dendro unit in the team. Regarding Weapon Choices: Sacrificial Sword is prioritized over Sapwood Blade due to Dendro Traveler's exceedingly high Energy Recharge requirements for burst uptime consistency. Regarding Artifacts: Noblesse Oblige (4) is generally a better option than Deepwood Memories (4) if Dendro Traveler is used in an Aggravate-focused team. The Exile (4) is an alternative option if they are placed in the same team as Cyno to help his Energy Recharge needs.

Genshin Impact Cyno build and materials guide

  • Author: Marco Wutz

The best Genshin Impact Cyno build needs to find the right balance between providing enough Energy Recharge and Elemental Mastery, as both are of vital importance if you want to dish out some judgment with the Sumeru Akademiya’s General Mahamatra.

Cyno is relatively easy to use, coming with a straightforward Elemental Skill, Chasmic Soulfarer, and a powerful Elemental Burst, Wolf’s Swiftness. His Burst morphs Cyno into the Pactsworn Pathclearer, who attacks enemies with electric wolf claws that deal Electro damage, which can not be overwritten. All of that damage is increased based on Cyno’s Elemental Mastery thanks to his Authority over the Nine Bows talent. Thus, Elemental Mastery not only helps this Main DPS with his reaction-based damage, but also with his base damage.

Read to learn more on how you need to equip Cyno, which teams are good fits for him, and how you get all his ascension and talent upgrade materials.

Genshin Impact Cyno.

Genshin Impact's Cyno with his signature weapon.

Best Cyno weapons – Genshin Impact

Like many other 5-star characters, Cyno has a signature weapon that came into the game at the same time as him. In his case, this is the polearm Staff of the Scarlet Sands . It increases Critical Hit Rate and lets the wielder gain 52% of their Elemental Mastery as bonus Attack. Hitting adversaries with an Elemental Skill can boost this effect up to three times by an additional 28% for ten seconds.

Here are the best weapons for Cyno in Genshin Impact:

  • Staff of the Scarlet Sands (5-star polearm)
  • Primordial Jade-Winged Spear (5-star polearm)
  • Staff of Homa (5-star polearm)
  • Deathmatch (4-star polearm)
  • Blackcliff Pole (4-star polearm)
  • White Tassel (3-star polearm)

Best Cyno artifacts – Genshin Impact

In general, there are two different ways to go about kitting out Cyno, depending on the playstyle you want to go with – and the equipment you have on your hands.

If you’re aiming for a reaction-based style and have Cyno’s signature weapon, then a full set of Gilded Dreams is a very good choice. It will provide massive buffs to Elemental Mastery, which are going to be even greater if you’re fielding a team with diverse elemental types.

Under the same conditions you could also go for a full set of Thundering Fury , which on paper will enable Cyno to reach his maximum damage output thanks to its buffs to Electro damage as well as Electro reactions. Since this style will depend on triggering Elemental Skill when Cyno’s Elemental Burst is active, interruptions or disadvantageous enemy positioning will be very punishing, resulting in a net loss in damage output compared to the other options.

If you don’t have access to Staff of the Scarlet Sands and favor a playstyle that’s less dependent on reactions, we’d recommend a full set of Gladiator’s Finale , which is going to maximize Cyno’s Attack.

There are two playstyles for Cyno and three strong artifact sets to consider.

You’ll want the following stat distribution on your set for Cyno, regardless of which one you go with:

  • Flower : HP (main stat), Energy Recharge, Critical Damage, Critical Hit Rate, Elemental Mastery (secondary stats)
  • Plume : Attack (main stat), Energy Recharge, Critical Damage, Critical Hit Rate, Elemental Mastery (secondary stats)
  • Sands : Elemental Mastery (main stat), Energy Recharge, Critical Damage, Critical Hit Rate, Attack % (secondary stats)
  • Goblet : Electro Damage % (main stat), Energy Recharge, Critical Damage, Critical Hit Rate, Elemental Mastery (secondary stats)
  • Circlet : Critical Hit Rate or Critical Damage (main stat), Energy Recharge, Critical Damage or Critical Hit Rate, Elemental Mastery, Attack % (secondary stats)

Best Cyno teams – Genshin Impact

Cyno is a typical Main DPS, who spends most of his time on the field, which necessitates that you team him up with some great off-field characters that provide effects for elemental reactions and support him through healing and energy generation.

  • Cyno (Main DPS), Nahida (Sub DPS), Yelan (Sub DPS), Kuki Shinobu (Support)

This Hyperbloom team created Dendro Cores through the Dendro-Hydro interactions between Nahida and Yelan, which Cyno can then hit with his Electro attacks, enabling massive damage through Hyperbloom. Shinobu is there for healing and could be switched out in favor of Dori .

Best characters to team up with Cyno

  • Role: Sub DPS

Nahida's long off-field abilities and Elemental Mastery buffs are perfect to support Cyno.

Yelan's consistent Hydro application combined the Dendro abilities of other characters sets the stage for Cyno's devastating rampages.

  • Role: Support

Shinobu may steal a few Hyperblooms from Cyno, but is a fantastic healer and will enable the Electro Resonance for better energy regeneration.

As is the case more often than not, Xingqiu is a solid option for those without Yelan.

Poor Dori is often overlooked, but can be a great option for a Cyno team thanks to her ability to both heal and charge up characters.

Genshin Impact's strongest healer is a great fit to accompany Cyno as well.

Fischl and Oz, Genshin Impact's most iconic duo, are great with Cyno: they can provide off-field Electro effects to generate energy and set the stage for the Main DPS.

Raiden is a fantastic battery for Cyno as well and can follow up on his Elemental Burst with her own, for an extra bit of damage output.

The CEO of Geo may not be able to heal Cyno, but his shields will keep the General Mahamatra alive for longer, while his Tenacity of the Millelith artifact set will bost the Main DPS' Attack.

As usual, Yelan is replaceable by Xingqiu. A variation of this team with Kokomi instead of Yelan and Fischl or Raiden Shogun for Shinobu is effective as well.

  • Cyno (Main DPS), Nahida (Sub DPS), Fischl (Sub DPS), Zhongli (Support)

This Aggravate team helps boost the damage of Cyno’s regular attacks. Nahida and Fischl can use their off-field abilities to provide those reactions, while Zhongli shields the team and carries Tenacity of the Millelith for a further damage buff. Dendro Traveler is a good alternative for Nahida here.

Cyno ascension materials – Genshin Impact

You’ll want to quickly raise Cyno’s level when you pull him, which means that you’ll need to farm his ascension materials. You’ll also require some materials to fully upgrade his talents.

Here’s what you need to get Cyno to level 90:

  • Vajrada Amethyst Sliver x1
  • Vajrada Amethyst Fragment x9
  • Vajrada Amethyst Chunk x9
  • Vajrada Amethyst Gemstone x6
  • Divining Scroll x18
  • Sealed Scroll x30
  • Forbidden Curse Scroll x36
  • Scarab x168
  • Thunderclap Fruitcore x46
  • Mora x2,092,530

Vajrada Amethyst is available from any Electro-affiliated boss on the world map, such as the Electro Hypostasis or the Electro Regisvine. Since you’ll need Thunderclap Fruitcores as well, which only drop from the Electro Regisvine in Sumeru, you should focus on that to cover both materials.

Scrolls are a common material from Samachurls, which are the priest-like Hilichurls with elemental powers. Scarabs can be found in Sumeru’s deserts, mainly around the grand Mausoleum of King Deshret. Blossoms of Wealth are the best source to make Mora.

Here’s what you need to upgrade all of Cyno’s talents to their maximum level:

  • Sealed Scroll x66
  • Forbidden Curse Scroll x93
  • Teachings of Admonition x9
  • Guide to Admonition x63
  • Philosophies of Admonition x114
  • Mudra of the Malefic General x18
  • Crown of Insight x3
  • Mora x4,957,500

You’ll have to defeat more Samachurls to get Scrolls and also farm some more money to upgrade the talents. Books of Admonition are found in the Steeple of Ignorance Domain on Monday, Thursday, and Sunday after completing the challenges.

Mudra of the Malefic General is a boss material from fighting Raiden Shogun on Inazuma. Finally, Crowns of Insight are often up for grabs in limited events and you can claim them by progressing through the reward tracks of places like the Tree of Dreams.
