Legoland Windsor, which was opened in 1996 from the ruins of the Windsor Safari Park (which closed in 1992), is the second Legoland-branded park (after the original in Denmark, which dates back to 1968!). Interestingly, Merlin Entertainments, the UK entertainment corporation that also owns Madame Tussaud's Wax Museums, SeaLife Aquariums, the "Eye" Ferris wheels, and notable UK parks, owns Legoland parks rather than The Lego Group. Legoland is the UK’s favourite kids theme park, with rides and attractions to suit all ages. It features over 55 rides, live shows and attractions - making it the perfect place to visit with your family and friends.

The LEGOLAND park has lots to offer for families with children between the ages of 3 and 12 looking for adventure – enough for several days of fun and action.

There are multiple options of food available throughout the park including burgers, chicken, pizza buffet and kebabs.

IDEAL AGE RANGE

Seasonal events.

The LEGOLAND® Windsor Resort holds awesome events throughout the year, including spook-tacular Brick or Treat, a Fireworks Spectacular and the magical LEGOLAND at Christmas!

Purchase a refillable soft drink cup for the day at around £12-£14 and bring some spare plastic cups with you to share.  The cup can only be refilled every 10 minutes but this is still great value compared to buying drinks individually.  Low sugar/diet options are available at the refill stations.

Pre book the splash zone entry (This was a covid requirement) and make sure you bring your children’s swimming costumes.  Lockers are available on site should you not wish to carry these around all day.

* Based on normal driving conditions from our final pickup in Middlesbrough.  Timing is based on an average time by coach.

Day One (Legoland Windsor)  - Join your coach at one of our FREE local coach joining points and settle back in your seat and relax as we journey to Legoland Windsor. Your entry ticket is included so you can enjoy all the rides and experiences on offer. When the park closes, we will depart for the short journey to your hotel, where you can check-in, relax and enjoy the remainder of the evening at leisure.

Day Two (Legoland Windsor)  - Fill up on breakfast before we check out of our hotel and head for an exciting second visit to Legoland Windsor, where your ticket is once again included. You'll have plenty of time to explore and enjoy many of the rides, attractions and experiences. Late afternoon we commence the homeward journey.

You will stay the night at a comfortable hotel, such as the Holiday Inn Express T5 Heathrow or similar. Within easy coaching distance of Legoland Windsor, all hotels used have well-appointed, comfortable en-suite bedrooms. There is a bar where you might choose to relax and you’ll enjoy a hearty breakfast on the morning of your stay.

The Holiday Inn Express also has an onsite Italian restaurant called Tratts Pizza and Pasta, ever popular with families and other guests.

11 THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW BEFORE VISITING LEGOLAND WINDSOR

Have you ever been to LEGOLAND Windsor? We have been many times and the children adore it there. Read on for everything that you need to know before your trip to LEGOLAND, plus my tops planning tips for making your visit a success.

Disclosure – We have been to LEGOLAND many times and paid for it ourselves. For our latest visit were invited on a press trip where we had complimentary entry in exchange for an honest review. All words and opinions are my own.

Check for discounts

Tickets bought in advance from the LEGOLAND website can be purchased at a discounted rate, so it’s always worth booking forbore you go. There are also frequent promotional offers on cereal boxes, hand soaps and other products which offer savings, so a quick Google search before you leave can ease the strain on your purse.

If you are a Merlin Annual Pass or LEGOLAND Annual Pass holder, LEGOLAND entry is free.

Download the app

The LEGOLAND app is a must download before visiting the park. It is the best way to keep up to date with queue times during your day so that you can plan which rides to go on in order to maximise your day.

Measure Your Children

Measure your children and check which rides and attractions they will be allowed on before you visit to avoid disappointment on the day. This information can also be found on the LEGOLAND App .

Choose Your Times Wisely

If at all possible, plan your visit on a weekday during term time to avoid the majority of the queues.

Check The Opening Hours

Like most theme parks, LEGOLAND’s opening hours vary around the year to adjust for demand. Make sure that you check out the opening hours for the day that you plan to visit here .

Book Your Parking

Parking is chargeable (unless you are a Merlin Premium Annual Pass holder), but is cheaper if you book in advance.

Getting To LEGOLAND

LEGOLAND ®  Windsor Resort is on the B3022 Windsor/Ascot road just two miles from Windsor town centre.  The address is;

Winkfield Road Windsor Berkshire SL4 4AY

SAT NAV Tip

The postcode for the resort is: SL4 4A Y. If you are using a Sat Nav system to get to the Resort, make sure that you follow the local brown tourist information signs directing you to LEGOLAND, to avoid the possibility of your Sat Nav incorrectly directing you into a residential street.

Organise Your Ride Access Pass For Family Members With Additional Needs

If you or any of your party have disabilities or additional needs that would make queueing difficult, then you may qualify for a Ride Access Pass. For full details and to see if you qualify, please visit LEGOLAND’S Accessibility page .

If you do qualify, you will need to provide documents as evidence to support your claim. Full details of which documents you will need can be found on the LEGOLAND website . This proof can be brought with you on the day of your visit, or, to save time, you can upload your documents directly so that LEGOLAND can check them and issue you with a reference number in advance.

Decide if you’ll get a QBot

A QBot is an upgrade which means that your place in a queue for a ride or attraction is held for you while you enjoy another area of the park. If you are awarded a Ride Access Pass, you will be given a QBot plus one “One Shot Ride” (a ride that you can get on directly without using the QBot) for 4 people free of charge.

Staying near LEGOLAND

As well as the 2 on site LEGO hotels, LEGOLAND have a number of partner hotels in the local area which offer sort break deals.

The Hilton in Reading

On our last trip to LEGOLAND, we stayed for 2 nights at the Hilton in Reading. The hotel was just over a half-hour drive from LEGOLAND and included parking. The hotel itself was superb, the staff went the extra mile and the food was excellent.
