The Security Officer is a Caitian Starfleet officer who offers a few security-related Duty Officer Assignments .
Security Officers can be found in the following locations:
- The Operations Center of Earth Spacedock
- In the lounge area outside the Transporter Room of Starbase 39
- The main area of Deep Space K-7
- The Security Office on the Promenade of Deep Space 9
- On the tactical floor of a Fleet Starbase with unlocked Tier III Shipyard. (This one is not a Caitian but will trigger the same interaction window.)
Each officer gives the same assignments.

Defeated Changeling is a mission item received when you defeat a Founder-Changeling in combat. After doing enough damage they will turn into a small puddle that merely tries to run away, at this point you can chase them down and interact with the changeling to capture them.

You can use it to fulfill the doff assignment “ Deliver Defeated Changeling to Starfleet Security” / “Deliver Defeated Changeling to Klingon Intelligence ” given by either Security Officer (FED) / Security Officer (KDF) which awards 200 dil.
You can try to drop the mission before leaving the simulation, that works about 80% of the time but sometimes I do still lose the changeling. Also changelings show up in colony defense fleet action and a few of the explores in zones near DS9.
There were two moments where I was worried they were going to trope it up. There was the possibility he was a changeling substitute body swap when Seven visited him in his quarters and I was worried "LeForge" would do him in.
Look for an npc security officer. You can find these from DS9, Qo'noS and Space Dock. They should have an option to deliver a defeated changeling.

These Duty Officer Assignments will give Prisoners, Colonist, Dilithium and Contraband. Then you can turn in Prisoners, Colonist and Contraband into Dilithium or Energy Credits if you want to sell the Prisoners, Colonist and Contraband on the Market.
