The Seven Seas Voyager has the unmistakable sense of up-scale American luxury. My Seven Seas Voyager review explains what makes her different from other luxury cruise ships. I detail the most popular suites , rate the restaurants and preview the on board entertainment options . In addition, there are video tours so you can see what this luxury cruise ship is really like. Click on the tabs above to navigate to each part of this review.

  • Chartreuse – the best restaurant at sea.
  • Off-menu dining in Compass Rose.
  • Butler service in premium suites.
  • Lacks a sense of intimacy.
  • Service can be patchy.

The Seven Seas Voyager deck plan is mostly easy to get around. There are a total of 9 passenger decks, the highest of which is deck 12.

  • Reception : Deck 5
  • Accommodation : Decks 6 to 11
  • Main dining room : Deck 4
  • Theatre : Deck 4
  • Observation lounge : Deck 11

Built in Italy and launch in 2003, Seven Seas Voyager is the third cruise ship in the luxury Regent Seven Seas Cruises fleet.

Seven Seas Voyager is 206 m. / 677 ft. in length with room for 706 guests. That is about the same number of guests as the newer Seven Seas Explorer. Guests stay in luxurious all-suite, all-balcony accommodation, but unlike many other luxury cruise ships the suites are positioned from bow to stern.

Seven Seas Voyager underwent a major refurbishment in 2016. She now boasts the same elegant style and decor featured on Seven Seas Explorer. Also, the French restaurant called Chartreuse made its debut on Seven Seas Voyager as part of the ship’s refurbishment. This has been a great addition to the onboard dining scene.

Indeed as my Seven Seas Voyager review explains, dining is a delight. There are five excellent venues to choose from , including two specialty restaurants and the spectacular main dining room called Compass Rose.

Also, there are  three sumptuious lounges and there is entertainment most nights in a Broadway-style theatre .

A fully-equipped gym and fitness centre can help burn off unwanted calories, plus there is a luxurious spa offering a range of indulgent treatments to keep you looking good and feeling relaxed.

Your Seven Seas Voyager cruise fare is all-inclusive. Gourmet meals, champagne, fine wines and spirits are all included in the cruise fare. Uniquely, shore excursions are also included. Indeed, once you get onboard there is no need to pay for anything else.

On my review voyage the house champagne was Heidsieck Monopole Blue Top Brut. There will be a bottle waiting in your suite upon embarkation.

You can purchase premium and vintage alcoholic beverages too, however I thought the house offerings were excellent.

Also included in the cruise fare are non-alcoholic beverages, specialty teas and coffees.

Gratuities are also included, which means tipping is not necessary.

In addition, shuttle bus transfers to and from the port are often included. Plus, there is also a handy tote bag to take ashore.

As this Seven Seas Voyager review reveals, dining is a highlight of any sailing. On the whole the quality and presentation   of the produce is impressive.

There are five dining venues to choose from. These include Compass Rose with its European-inspired menu, as well as the Veranda buffet restaurant and the al fresco Pool Grill.

There are also two specialty restaurants – a steakhouse called Prime 7 and the sublimely good French restaurant called Chartreuse.

Light snacks and coffee are served all day at the popular Coffee Connection.

In-suite dining is available 24-hours a day.

The Seven Seas Voyager dress code ranges from casual wear to formal, depending on the time of day.

Casual wear includes resort-style apparel like jeans, shorts, t-shirts, and tennis shoes. It is appropriate only before 6:00pm, with two exceptions: Guests can wear casual anytime they dine at the Pool Grill or Pool Bar; Guests can also wear casual in any venue after 6:00pm on the final night of the cruise.

Otherwise, in the evening guests wear either elegant casual or formal . This is indicated each day in the onboard Passages newsletter.

For ladies elegant casual wear includes skirts, slacks with a blouse or sweater, a pant suit or dress. For gentlemen it is slacks and a collared shirt. Sport jackets are optional and ties are not required.

On formal nights ladies wear gowns and cocktail dresses, while gentlemen dress in tuxedos, dinner jackets or dark suits with a tie.

Like most cruise lines, the number of formal nights depends on the cruise duration. Cruises of less than 16 days have no formal nights, while longer cruises have at least two formal evenings.

Seven Seas Voyager is a much loved cruise ship and as such she has a loyal following. During my Seven Seas Voyager review sailing the guests generally ranged in age from 35 to 70-years old.

Most guests are from the U.S.A. and they appreciate the upscale luxury onboard. There are also guests from the U.K. and Canada as well as an increasing number of Australians and Europeans.

It’s worth noting that, like all the Regent Seven Seas Cruises fleet, the Seven Seas Voyager is gay-friendly.

Seven Seas Voyager exudes a sense of luxurious Americana, with tastefully decorated public areas and wonderfully spacious suites. The five restaurants offer some of the best dining at sea. And the resort-style pool is like a floating oasis. Combined with the all-inclusive lifestyle it’s hard to beat.

Dear Lore Thank you for your kind remarks. I hope you enjoy your cruise on Seven Seas Voyager! Regards Jason

where is seven seas voyager

On this ship in the Med this yr we found the pool area very poor. Evening meals non existent. On th3 last night of our 3 week cruise my husband dressed in polo shirt and long shorts and boaters but not allowed to dine anywhere but the pool area. This was our 3rd a Regent sevenseas Cruise and totally disappointed. Staff were not interested in serving and Cabin staff very poor. Chatreuse very ordinary and we cancelled a second booking. Butter was described as with truffle but when I asked where were the truffle the waiter told me the butter was with flecks of truffle and he couldn’t locate any. Over priced cruise line and total disappointment

where is seven seas voyager

Agree with De above. This is an extremely overpriced cruise line. Very disappointed with the experience.

It claims to be the most luxurious ship ever built, but the service, food, and amenities were all subpar – at most, it rivals a four-star cruise, but this has a 6-star price tag!

I chose this cruise to celebrate my husband’s 60th birthday, because it was supposed to be very luxurious. Turns out they didn’t know how to do servicing at all – despite reminding the crew that he’ll be celebrating his birthday on the cruise on the day we boarded as well as when booking the entire trip a few months prior, there was no decorations, no cards, nothing in the room after we returned from the excursion on the day. When I called the front desk to ask what happened, they decided to send someone to put up balloons and a paper sign while my husband was in the room, sitting right in front of them…making it totally meaningless!

Following the failed celebration of his birthday, we came across a series of other crazy encounters, making the entire trip an extremely unenjoyable holiday: 1. Live spider and live bug found in a bowl of berries for room service dining 2. Soiled towel in the bathroom that was stained with streaks of bright brown red, after the bathroom was refreshed and refilled with “new”, “clean” towels 3. Our friend shipped over a bottle of champagne along with a birthday card to surprise my husband. The crew lost the card and only plotted the bottle of champagne in the middle of our room without saying anything….

In terms of the food quality and amenities, these are also below standards. For example, soup onboard is always so salty it’s undrinkable (happened multiple times). The steak at their specialty restaurant was very tough – meat quality was bad to begin with. In terms of amenities, the design of it all was missing the perspective of the customer experience. For example, there was no assigned area where guests can blow dry their hair, powder up, and get ready after using the Spa. You actually have to stand up while blow drying your hair – there are no chairs in the whole spa area. How is that supposed to be a relaxing and enjoyable experience?

where is seven seas voyager

Love this cruise line! Exceptional food and service. Enjoy the diversity of the guests. Made many friends and people with whom I still keep in touch. Excellent program for solo travelers -nightly. Just a fun, relaxing and memorable cruise every time!

We were disappointed

Sep 5th, 2024

Again, i was disappointed in the “luxury” tour. I did not feel that it lived up to its reputation . Comcei There was very little, if any interaction with other passengers or crew. In speaking with a few other first time cruisers, there was a familiar feeling. The WiFI was horrible!!!!!!!!!!! Not enough tours of overall places that were moderate or less strenous. We were under the impression that young children were not allowed on ship. There were several very young children, often disruptive.

Trip of a life time!

Jul 30th, 2024

This was a trip of a lifetime because of the locations and family heritage. The ports were great and the trip overall was outstanding. We saw some of the most beautiful scenery in the world. We fully agree that Ireland is the "land of 40 shades of green". Absolutely beautiful. We had so much fun on this trip because we were able to go places we've never been, met up with friends from a previous Regent cruise and had a wonderful time with them. We had outstanding food and service throughout most of the trip. Special recognition to Jonahtan in the pool bar! We had the opportunity to visit some great cities. We would go on another Regent Cruise again however we will choose a newer ship and be much more careful to view the details of the suite we choose.

2-3 cruises

Very disappointing

May 6th, 2024

We were really looking forward to our cruise...But we started late due to unnamed technical reasons. We missed 3 ports of call...and went immediately to Turkey from one delayed day at Rome. While technical problems are one thing, the communications of the ship to the passengers was lacking along with the logistical planning involved in this kind of disruption. We enjoyed the staff and the stewards very much as they were top notch. But the trip was basically cut in half and the disruptions made it worse for the excursions. We did get some money refunded, but it was not enough to want to take Regent up on another cruise. (fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me)

Overall pleasant cruise with some drawbacks

Apr 10th, 2024

Regent does a very good job with food, drink, and service. But the Voyager needs an updated. It’s very tired. The lectures were terrible. They were basically Wikipedia articles rewritten for PowerPoint presentations. When returning to the ship from excursions on very hot days, Regent did not provide cold wash cloths like other cruise lines do. Also, when excursions span the lunch period and do not include a group lunch at a restaurant, we got nothing and the restaurants were closed when we return to the ship. Other cruise lines provide a box or sack lunch on such occasions.

Great cruise

Apr 9th, 2024

Excellent but I noticed one of the passengers was harassed a little too much by the staff.

Singles/Friends

fabulous weather in a beautiful part of the world

Nov 7th, 2023

Beautiful weather. The excursions were a bit on the early side but were informative and we learned many things. A few excursions were a boat cruise which we really enjoyed. Lots of walking!

The Mystery Cruise

Oct 28th, 2023

Regent handled the disruption as best they could. I am glad we chose to take the air through Regent as everything was changed at the last minute to get us into the alternate departure port of Istanbul a day earlier that initially planned, and put us up a a very nice hotel. we were initially not happy with our cabin, which was a mistate of booking on my part. However, I asked at the front desk about getting another cabin or getting a larger cabin. He was busy the first day and sid I would not know anything until the next day. He never got back to me.

Definitely NOT First Class. (Ours was the 7-day cruise not the 19-day trip)

Jul 31st, 2023

Note that I am not new to cruising and have cruised dozens of times including the Atlantic, several times in the Mediterranean, Black Sea, Southeast Asia, Caribbean, Mexico, Central America, West Coast USA and several times to Alaska. This was a memorial cruise following the deaths of both of our parents. I went with my sister, brother and his wife: two cabins with balconies, Concierge Class Level Deck 7. We paid $40,000 for the two cabins on the Regent SS Voyager for the trip from Barcelona to Lisbon. June 25 to July 2, 2023. It was not the top quality we had paid for. It was quite disappointing. 1. Lack of communications and zero organization regarding flight check ins and luggage outbound from Texas to Canada to Spain. Zero assistance at airports. 2. Zero directions at Barcelona airport. Could not easily find Regent agents. 3. It would have been nice to be provided with a bottle of water on arrival at the bus and information as to how long to the hotel. Nothing. 4. Tours were inconsistent in quality. Some guides had microphones and headsets for us such as in Granada who was good; others did not. Problem with the Granada tour was that it was misleading. The places that we toured were not all of what was presented. Many were skipped. 5. The tour in Malaga all of the churches and stores were closed. A few bars and tourist shops were open. Not good planning. 6. One guide at Cadiz carried a water bottle instead of a flag. He also spent 40 minutes talking about the slaughter of bulls in the bull ring. When asked to stop, he did not. He also provided insufficient information about the architecture of the old city… which was the main focus of the tour. 7. The mess up in Morocco due to the Eid al-Adha holiday was in excusable. Everything was closed due to the holiday. As this is one of the most holy of Moslem holidays, it is not acceptable to schedule tours to places where all of the buildings that we were scheduled to go see were closed. The entire country was shut down. Regent should have known this, moved to a different country or something of value. But to take our money and spend 8 hours driving around and not able to see what we had requested to visit is not acceptable. 8. The tour guide in Portugal spent more time chatting with the driver and did not talk much about the architecture or the history of the area. She took us to places where we had to pay for the rest rooms and clearly received commissions for purchases. She would let us off the bus with no information and say you have “5 or 10 minutes to take a picture.” She was not a good guide. 9. The French restaurant Chartreuse on the first night had good tasting food. But the service was so poor and so slow that the food was cold. The food was terribly salty, and not suitable. I tried to order fish without alcohol in the sauce, and it was already premade. The non-alcoholic sauces were very salty. While the ice cream was good, the crème Brule desert was room temperature as if it had been sitting out on the shelf. Not acceptable. 10. Water was never chilled on board ship. When we asked for cold water, it was not cold. Water in La Veranda restaurant tasted fishy. I eventually broke down and just used ice only board ship. I ended up with diarrhea which I suffered for 4 days. 11. We attempted to book another night in the French restaurant, but they never permitted us the opportunity. Not decent service or support. 12. We were able to book one night in Prime 7. The last night July 1. This was a disaster. We were booked for 8:30pm. We were placed at 9:20pm. The place was loud like a bar filled will drunks at a football game. There were 3 other empty tables when we were finally sat at our table. The servers tried to help but service was lousy. Food was salty. Salad not edible. Seafood (King Crab) was freezer burned and dry, 1 scallop completely covered with salt and not possible to be eaten. The lobster was the only thing edible. Food was sent back and the chef alerted to the poor quality of the food. It did not improve. Servers often did not know if food had alcohol or meat in it or not. I had to ask each time. I can buy fresher sea food from my local grocery store. 13. Coffee on board ship was consistently bad. It was weak, bitter and of poor quality. At all locations. Trust us, we tried every location. They were all the same. 14. Compass Rose food was salty and of poor quality. Not served hot when supposed to be hot, and not cold when supposed to be cold. Not wide selections for non-meat eaters and non-alcohol drinkers. 15. Pool side juice bar service was nice – but the vegetables and fruits were room temperature. This made the juice not worth drinking. They should have been kept chilled. 16. Shops on board had limited items. Not much of a selection of clothing. Very limited health items. 17. Only one small pool. It was salt and chorine with heavy on the chemicals. I broke out in hives from being in the water for 5 minutes. And yes, I had showered immediately after being in the pool water. 18. Medical Center was extremely overpriced for on ship visits. Decision to not go. 19. Wi-fi was inconsistent and unstable. Additionally, only one free account per cabin. I had to pay $175 for my service. 20. Spa service was extremely overpriced. $284 for a 50-minute massage was very high for mediocre treatment. 21. I did not attend any evening events as they started at 9:30pm. Which I felt there should have been other options. 22. Cigarette and cigar smoking on the pool deck was horrible. There were people eating and children there as well. Terrible. Nasty. 23. Disembarking procedure was very disorganized. Regent was calling groups and they just kept piling up at the area. No lines, true chaos. No instructions as to where to go. No instructions on the need to pick up our own luggage. We had been told that our luggage was to be delivered to our hotel. 24. We had a post-cruise package with transfers and hotel included. The lack of support was abysmal. No signage as to where our bus was to be located. No stewards with information as to where to go. When we did find our bus, they did not have our bags. We had to go back in through customs into the Lisbon Terminal to get clearance to go back down to retrieve our luggage. Not nice. 25. The Lisbon Marriott Hotel was another disaster. Not able to check in until 4pm. This was beyond stupid. We had arrived at 10:00am. One family member was sick and was expected to sit in their ugly little lobby for 6 hours. I was very angry with the Regent’s lack of support and poor planning of not having guest able to check in on arrival. All of our bags were placed in a room with no luggage tags. We were told that Regent did not pay for the luggage tag service. CHEAP. 26. The next morning, again there were no signs as to who was in charge of the Regent guests. We had to guess. We eventually found a man with no ID or signage that would call and track down our car. It showed up 40 minutes late. As we had plenty of time to get to the airport, it was not a problem. but the entire situation should not have happened. The car and driver should have been on time at 8:00am. And should have been identified. 27. Since the end of the cruise, I have been attempting to get the Regent Customer Service staff to provide restitution for the poor service. It was made clear that ship’s credit on a future cruise was not acceptable as Regent’s service was not acceptable. All that was offered was $300 credit per person. This is not acceptable. 28. What was supposed to be guaranteed as a luxury, 5-star cruise with pre-cruise and post-cruise hotel packages was mediocre. The ship’s management was careless and many of the staff untrained. The management's excuse was that their people were new. The shore staff were incompetent. I am writing to let people know that they should not take a Regent cruise. It is not worth the money. This cruise was at least 3 times the cost of a regular cruise and Regent did not deliver half of the services as promised.

Large Group

Forget Tunisia. Wasn't in the original cruise we paid for then Regent did a bait and switch

Jul 15th, 2023

Substituting Tunisia for an Italy stop, after we paid for the cruise was NOT ACCEPTABLE. Also, despite everything I wrote, an overall rating of 4.0 was calculated automatically by this review site. It was a 3.8 max. Why even do a review if a calculation is made "automatically!

May 11th, 2023

As expected and anticipated, the RSSC experience was excellent. Cabin and ship staff were very good. Marked improvement in the entertainment onboard. Quality of food has also improved - back to previous standards.
