How to Get Tickets to The Cure’s 2023 Tour

The post How to Get Tickets to The Cure’s 2023 Tour appeared first on Consequence .

The Cure have announced their 2023 North American tour . Going from coast to coast from May to July for 30 stops, this leg of the “Songs of a Lost World Tour” will be their first tour on the continent in seven years ( get tickets here ).

The announcement comes as fans are still in anticipation of the band’s new album, itself titled Songs of a Lost World . In 2022, frontman Robert Smith hinted that the album would be out by the end of the year, but as of March 2023, there is still no release date. Nonetheless, the band did play the European leg of the “Songs of a Lost World Tour” last fall, where they debuted two new songs presumably off the album.

Embarking on the North American leg of the tour, fans can expect to hear a good variety of classic hits, deep cuts, and maybe a few new tracks (if the setlist is anything like the European leg, that is).

Get tickets here , and read on for all the dates and details.

What Is The Cure’s Next Tour?

The European leg of the “Songs of a Lost World Tour” ran from last October through December — now, the show is coming stateside for 30 dates, starting in New Orleans on May 10th and ending in Miami on July 1st.

After kicking off, the tour will go west through Texas (making stops in Houston, Dallas, and Austin), through the Southwest, and into California, where the band will play their first of two three-day residencies, this one at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles. Then, the show will follow the West Coast all the way up to Vancouver, before hopping back into the states for shows in cities such as Chicago and Detroit, among many others.

Then, going into Canada one more time, they’ll hit Toronto and Montreal, and return to the states for East Coast gigs, including their second three-day residency, this one at Madison Square Garden in New York. From there, the tour will continue down the coast and end in Miami.

Who Is Opening for The Cure?

The Cure will be taking longtime tourmates The Twilight Sad on the road with them. They first toured together in 2016 after Smith selected the group as openers, and since then, the two acts have done numerous collaborations.

How Can I Get Tickets for The Cure’s 2023 Tour?

A Ticketmaster Verified Fan pre-sale is set for Wednesday, March 15th via Ticketmaster , with fans able to register for up to five different shows. Registration for the pre-sale is open now, and will close on Monday, March 13 at 10:00 a.m. ET. Apart from “a few Hollywood Bowl charity seats, there will be no ‘platinum’ or ‘dynamically priced’ tickets on this tour,” according to a press release.

Alternatively, fans can purchase tickets to The Cure’s upcoming tour via Stubhub — where your order is 100% guaranteed through Stubhub’s FanProtect program.

The-Cure-North-American-Tour-New-Dates

The Cure have expanded their 2023 “Songs Of A Lost World” North American tour by announcing additional dates in San Diego, Montreal, and Atlanta, as well as a new show in Portland, Oregon. Frontman Robert Smith has also teased that concerts in Mexico and South America will be revealed later this month.

The newly announced dates are The Cure’s latest efforts to get tickets in the hands of fans following a frustrating initial on-sale process. Fans who were previously issued verified fan codes but who were unable to buy tickets to shows in San Diego, Montreal, and Atlanta will have first crack at tickets for the new dates.

“Songs Of A Lost World” marks The Cure’s first North American tour in seven. The band originally attempted to make their shows as affordable as possible by offering zero “platinum” or “dynamically priced” tickets, and also only limited their sales to those registered as Ticketmaster Verified Fans in an attempt to prevent scalping.  A Verified Fan pre-sale for new shows in San Diego, Montreal, and Atlanta go on sale beginning Friday, April 7. Any remaining tickets will be made available to the general public on Saturday, April 8. Tickets to the Portland show go on sale on April 7.

The Cure Look to Limit Scalping, Platinum Prices on Upcoming Tour

By Ethan Millman

Ethan Millman

Fans and artists trying to find solutions for a more fan-friendly ticketing experience may want to look to The Cure .

After the English rock band announced their first U.S. tour in seven years earlier this week, The Cure said Friday that tickets for most of their shows wouldn’t be transferrable, part of an effort to help make sure tickets sell only for face value and that customers won’t pay exorbitant prices from scalpers.

“We want the tour to be affordable for all fans, and we have a very wide (and we think very fair) range of pricing at every show,” The Cure said in a statement on Friday. “Our ticketing partners have agreed to help us stop scalpers from getting in the way; to help minimize resale and keep prices at face value, tickets for this tour will not be transferrable. If something comes up that prevents a fan from being able to use a ticket they have purchased, they will be able to resell it on a face value ticket exchange.”

Breaking news, the cure is on tour and these ticket prices will surprise you.

Three images of Robert Smith performing combine to create a unique visual.

At each and every gig on their 2023 ‘Songs of a Lost World Tour,’ The Cure put on a career-spanning 2.5-hour concert.

That’s a Taylor Swift length show.

However, tickets don’t cost nearly as much to see the Rock and Roll Hall of Famers live this summer.

While prices to see Swift typically hover above $1000, we found tickets to see Robert Smith and co. going for as low as $8 before fees (!) on Vivid Seats this summer.

While that price tag is an outlier — tickets for most remaining shows on the run start in the $20 to $200 range — it does demonstrate that great deals to see the band live are out there.

You just have to keep an eye out.

Especially when the “Just Like Heaven” rockers drop into New York City’s Madison Square Garden from June 20-22.

Over the course of the three-night MSG stay, prices start at $97 before fees but as we get closer to the mini-residency, things could certainly change.

You just might get to hear “Friday, I’m In Love,” “Close To Me,” “Boys Don’t Cry,” “In Between Days,” “Pictures of You” and so many more live for less than a beer.

Want to know more about The Cure’s ‘Songs of a Lost World Tour?’

Keep reading — we’ve got everything you need to know and more below.

All prices listed above were found at the time of publication and are subject to fluctuation.

The Cure 2023 tour schedule

A complete calendar of all remaining Cure tour dates, venues and links to the cheapest tickets available can be found below.

(Note: The New York Post confirmed all above prices at the publication time. All prices are in US dollars, subject to fluctuation and include additional fees at checkout .)

Vivid Seats is a verified secondary market ticketing platform, and prices may be higher or lower than face value, depending on demand.

They offer a 100% buyer guarantee that states your transaction will be safe and secure and your tickets will be delivered prior to the event.

The Cure festival appearance

In addition to the summer run of shows, the band will also take the stage at Chicago’s Riot Fest which takes place Sept. 15-17 at Douglass Park.

At the three-day extravaganza, they’ll perform alongside fellow legends like Foo Fighters , Death Cab For Cutie , Queens of the Stone Age , The Mars Volta , The Gaslight Anthem and many, many more.

If you want to cross all the above acts off your bucket list in one fell swoop, you can snag tickets to Riot Fest 2023 here .

The Cure set list

As noted earlier, Robert Smith and the band go all out when they headline playing hits and obscure tracks from their expansive catalog every night.

To give you a closer look, here’s what the band played at a recent concert courtesy of Set List FM :

01.) “Alone” 02.) “Pictures of You” 03.) “A Fragile Thing” 04.) “Burn” 05.) “Lovesong” 06.) “And Nothing Is Forever” 07.) “At Night” 08.) “A Forest” 09.) “If Only Tonight We Could Sleep” 10.) “Want” 11.) “Kyoto Song” 12.) “A Night Like This” 13.) “Push” 14.) “Shake Dog Shake” 15.) “From the Edge of the Deep Green Sea” 16.) “Endsong”

17.) “I Can Never Say Goodbye” 18.) “It Can Never Be the Same” 19.) “Plainsong” 20.) “Prayers for Rain” 21.) “Disintegration” Encore 2:

22.) “Lullaby” 23.) “Six Different Ways” 24.) “The Walk” 25.) “Friday I’m in Love” 26.) “Close to Me” 27.) “In Between Days” 28.) “Just Like Heaven” 29.) “Boys Don’t Cry”

The Cure opening act

At all remaining shows, the goth icons will be joined by Scottish post-punk/indie rock outfit The Twilight Sad.

The five-member group is most well-known for their 2014 album  “Nobody Wants To Be Here & Nobody Wants To Leave”  which spawned their most popular tracks, the moody “There’s A Girl In The Corner,” pulsating “I Could Give You All That You Don’t Want” and ethereal “Last January.”

You can dive deep into The Twilight Sad’s catalog here .

The Cure Says 2023 Tour Tickets Will Be Non-Transferable to Prevent Scalping, Keep Prices Low

The band will not allow tickets to be resold at above face value for their Shows of a Lost World dates.

By Taylor Mims

Taylor Mims

The Cure, Coachella

The Cure is taking serious measures to avoid outrageous ticket prices for their upcoming tour dates. The band, which announced a 30-date run of shows earlier this week , took to social media Friday (March 10) to let fans (and scalpers) know that tickets for their Shows of a Lost World Tour dates will be non-transferable.

Trending on Billboard

Three states in the U.S. have outlawed non-transferable tickets, making it illegal for The Cure to uphold the practice for shows in New York, Illinois and Colorado. For those dates, the band encourages fans to only purchase tickets from face-value exchange platforms like Twickets and Cash or Trade.

“Fans should avoid buying tickets that are being resold at inflated prices by scalpers, and the sites that host these scalpers should refrain from reselling tickets for our shows,” the message reads.

The band went on to explain that any tickets listed as of today (March 10) on secondary ticketing sites are not legitimate. Scalpers will post tickets onto secondary ticketing platforms prior to a tour’s on-sale via a practice called speculative ticketing. When a fan pays for the “speculative ticket”, the scalper will acquire a ticket at a lower price once tickets actually go on sale and pocket the difference. The Cure has stated that they will work with Ticketmaster to cancel any tickets obtained via this method.

When the band announced the world tour earlier this week, they established that “there will be no ‘Platinum’ or ‘Dynamically Priced’ tickets on this tour,” which includes stops at Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, Moody Center in Austin, Madison Square Garden in New York and State Farm Arena in Atlanta.

Fans looking to secure tickets to The Cure’s 2023 tour should register with Ticketmaster’s Verified Fan program. Registration is open through Monday (March 13). After registering, fans will be entered into a lottery system to try to purchase tickets for their preferred date and location.

The Cure’s efforts to combat resale ticketing comes after a season of in-demand tours facing astronomical price increases due to dynamic ticketing and scalpers. Ticketmaster is currently facing government inquiries into its handling of the disastrous Taylor Swift Eras Tour presale, which left many fans outraged when service delays and website crashes (caused in part by bots) prevented many of them from securing tickets .

It looks like The Cure are finally teasing their new album

Robert Smith and co's first album in 16 years could finally be round the corner...

The Cure at the NME Awards 2020

Fans have been speculating that The Cure may be teasing an imminent return to music following the band changing their social media logos and updating their website – as well as revealing posts from band members and their relatives.

  • READ MORE:  On the cover – Robert Smith on 40 years of The Cure

Earlier today (September 9), The Cure took to their official social media pages to swap out their previous profile picture for a new one comprised of a brand new band logo with an all-black background. The sudden change of photo has led fans to believe that Robert Smith and co may be announcing some kind of return – which they hope is the long-awaited ‘Songs Of A Lost World’.

Fans quickly took to the comments section under the band’s Facebook update to share their excitement. “Please let it be finally an announcement of the new album!!,” wrote one user while another shared: “Come on gents, announce the new album! I hope we get it soon along with a new tour!”

Another fan wrote: “Come on, new album. I want to hear the studio version of those new songs you played in Leeds 2022.” They were referencing the likes of ‘A Fragile Thing’ , ‘ Another Happy Birthday ‘ and ‘ I Can Never Say Goodbye ‘ which were three of the new tracks the band debuted while on tour in 2022.

The news comes ahead of the release of the band’s two new songs as live recordings that will be a double A-side for climate charity ‘Earth Percent’ .

Released via  Naked Record Club  – a record label that releases limited edition records on sustainable vinyl – ‘The Cure – Novembre: Live in France 2022’ is a double A-Side 12” Eco-Vinyl single featuring two live tracks that were recorded during the French leg of  the band’s ‘Shows Of A Lost World’ tour .

The first song, ‘And Nothing Is Forever’ was recorded live in Montpellier at the Sud de France Arena on November 8 2022, while ‘I Can Never Say Goodbye’ was recorded live in Toulouse, Zénith, on November 13 2022. These are the first new tracks from The Cure in 16 years.

Back in 2022, The Cure also performed t wo other new tracks titled ‘Alone’ and ‘Endsong’ while kicking off their world tour . All of the unreleased songs are speculated to be featured on the band’s long-awaited new album, ‘ Songs Of A Lost World ‘, which would mark their first LP in 16 years, following from 2008’s ‘ 4:13 Dream ‘.

In a four-star review of their live performance at London’s OVO Arena Wembley during that year , NME shared how Smith took the time to promise “that the new songs ‘won’t be new for much longer.'”

The review also described the new tracks, sharing: “The ticking clock piano rhythms and rolling bass of ‘A Fragile Thing’ accompany the promise that there’s “nothing you can do to change the end”, while ‘Endsong’ is a stunning, sprawling soundscape to portray Smith utterly lost in a universe where there’s “ Nothing left of all I loved ”. The truly devastating heart of the new material previewed comes with ‘I Can Never Say Goodbye’ – where howling guitars match the singer’s fear of “ shadows growing closer now ” as “something wicked this way comes, to steal away my brother’s life ”. You feel that these songs are for those who mean the world to him.”

Speaking to NME backstage at the  BandLab NME Awards 2022 , Smith took the time to exclusively confirm that The Cure’s next album would be titled ‘Songs Of A Lost World’ , sharing: “It’s got artwork, it’s got a running order, it’s almost done! They’re so slow because of vinyl, but it might come in September. I’d rather it just came out. I can’t stand the anticipation.”

He also revealed more about its sister record and his anticipated solo album. “So I’ve been working on two Cure albums, and one of them is finished,” he added. “Unfortunately, it’s the second one that’s finished. [On the other] I’ve got to do four vocals, and there are 10 songs on each album. We’re mixing next month on April 1, so I’ve got three weeks left.”

Asked about the sound of the upcoming records, Smith revealed: “Well the first Cure album is relentless doom and gloom. It’s the doomiest thing that we’ve ever done. The second one is upbeat, and my [solo] one won’t be out until next year.

“I have to keep revisiting it. It’s a thing I’ve wanted to do for so many years. I realise I’ve only got one shot at doing it, so I’ve now started to add real instruments and acoustic instruments, whereas this time two years ago it was literally just feedback – but I’ve kind of grown a bit disenchanted with it. I’d listened to it like three times and I think it’s rubbish.”

At the 2022 Ivor Novellos’ The Cure spoke to NME and confirmed that the album was  “almost finished”.

“Reeves our guitar player has come over from America for the day just to finish a couple of solos, I’ve got to finish a couple of vocals,” Smith revealed. “Essentially it’s a 12 track album. It’s there, it’s kind of half-mixed and half-finished. It’s a weird thing. It’s kind of evolved over the last two years. It hasn’t always been a good thing to have been left alone with it. You pick at it, like picking at seams, and everything falls apart.

He continued: “It’ll be worth the wait. I think it’s the best thing we’ve done, but then I would say that. I’m not doing an Oasis when I say that, ‘IT’S THE BEST FOOKIN’ ALBUM’. A lot of the songs are difficult to sing, and that’s why it’s taken me a while.”

The frontman has long teased  the band’s long-awaited “merciless” new record , which keyboardist Roger O’Donnell previously described as “the most intense, saddest, most dramatic and most emotional record we’ve ever made, and then we can just walk away from it… Listening to the demos, it is that record. I think everybody will be happy with it.”

He continued: “The problem is, it’s 12 years since the last album so it becomes precious. When you’ve got a back catalogue like The Cure, it’s a lot to live up to. Robert has said, ‘if The Cure say any more, it had better be important and it had better be fucking good’.

“It is, it’s going to be an amazing record. I just suggest a little patience.”

Discussing the themes and character of the long-awaited follow-up to 2008’s ‘ 4:13 Dream ‘, Smith said  that the album “doesn’t have very much light on it” and that it sounds “more like ‘Disintegration’ than ‘Head On The Door’.”

“It’s pretty relentless, which will appeal to the hardcore of our audience, but I don’t think we’ll be getting any Number One singles off it or anything like that!” he told  NME , explaining that it was informed by lockdown. “It’s been quite harrowing, like it has for everyone else.”

He continued: “I’ve been more privileged than most, but lockdown and COVID has affected me in as much as I’ve lost an entire generation of aunts and uncles in under a year. It’s things like that which have informed the way I’ve been with the record.”

Smith previously opened up about how losing his mother, father and brother has inspired the ‘darkness’ within the forthcoming album , telling The Los Angeles Times: “obviously it had an effect on me. It’s not relentlessly doom and gloom. It has soundscapes on it, like ‘Disintegration’, I suppose. I was trying to create a big palette, a big wash of sound.”

Smith added: “The working title was ‘Live From the Moon’, because I was enthralled by the 50th anniversary of the Apollo landing in the summer. We had a big moon hanging in the studio and lunar-related stuff lying around. I’ve always been a stargazer.”

Speaking to NME about his hopes for the album, Smith said : “Before I used to write about stuff that I thought I understood. Now I know I understand it. The lyrics I’ve been writing for this album, for me personally, are more true. They’re more honest. That’s probably why the album itself is a little bit more doom and gloom. I feel I want to do something that expresses the darker side of what I’ve experienced over the last few years – but in a way that will engage people.”

The frontman added: “Some of the albums like ‘Pornography’ and ‘Disintegration’ are kind of relentless. I levelled ‘Disintegration’ with some songs like ‘Lullaby’ and ‘Lovesong’, but I think this one is more like ‘Pornography’ because it hasn’t got any of those songs that lighten the mood at all.”

More news on the band’s upcoming 14th album is expected to follow in the weeks ahead.

Elsewhere, O’Donnell recently revealed that he was diagnosed with blood cancer last year . The keyboardist shared the news last week (September 1) on the first day of Blood Cancer Awareness Month.

He took to his official X/Twitter account to reveal that he was “diagnosed with a very rare and aggressive form of lymphoma” back in September 2023 and has since since recovered.

Is a major announcement from The Cure on the way?

A new logo and a blackout on the band's website has left fans wondering if a new album is imminent....

By Nick Reilly

Robert Smith of The Cure performing live in 2019

Fans of The Cure have began speculating if their anticipated fourteenth album is on the way, after a flurry of mysterious online activity earlier today.

Devotees of the Crawley goth icons have noticed that the band’s website appears to be entirely wiped, save for a new logo which features a lowercase “the” and “CURE” in capitals, written in a typewriter style font.

The new logo is also the profile picture of the band’s social media channels, while the option for fans to sign up to their mailing list suggests that an announcement could be on the way.

It’s entirely possible that the announcement could be the band’s first album since 2008’s 4:13 Dream . The long-gestating project has been teased by frontman Robert Smith across various interviews in recent years.

Hmm…The Cure just updated their logo. The official site too. https://t.co/DTVqunO39c pic.twitter.com/PDtKgBbi36 — Chain of Flowers (@CraigatCoF) September 9, 2024

Or indeed, albums plural. In 2022, Smith said the group had recorded two albums which were poles apart.

The first, titled Songs of the Lost World , was described by Smith as “upbeat”, while the other was described as “relentless doom and gloom…the doomiest thing we’ve ever done.”

He added of the first record later that year: “It’ll be worth the wait. I think it’s the best thing we’ve done, but then I would say that. I’m not doing an Oasis when I say that, ‘IT’S THE BEST FOOKIN’ ALBUM’. A lot of the songs are difficult to sing, and that’s why it’s taken me a while.”

They’ve also been debuting new songs thought to be from the album in recent years too, notably the emotionally charged ‘A Fragile Thing’ at a show in Italy and a further five tracks including ‘Alone’ and the doom-laden ‘Endsong’ at a Wembley Arena show in December 2022.

It remains to be seen if the announcement is both albums, one, or indeed something entirely unrelated.

In other Cure news, the group’s keyboardist Roger O’Donnell revealed late last month that he has spent the past year fighting “a very rare and aggressive form of lymphoma,” but added he is now doing “fine and the prognosis is amazing.”

O’Donnell — who joined the Cure in 1987, was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with the band in 2019, and performed live on the Cure’s North American tour last year before then-unspecified “health reasons” forced him to miss the band’s Latin American tour in November 2023 — opened up about his own cancer battle in an effort to encourage fans to get tested.

“Cancer CAN be beaten but if you are diagnosed early enough you stand a way better chance, so all I have to say is go GET TESTED, if you have the faintest thought you may have symptoms go and get checked out,” O’ Donnell wrote.

“I’m fine and the prognosis is amazing. The mad axe murderer knocked on the door and we didn’t answer.”

How to get tickets for the Killers’ 2024 Melbourne tour: presale, prices and all the details

These tickets will fly out the door, but on the brightside we’ve got all the info you need to know

Ashleigh Hastings

Here’s a fun fact for all the indie sleaze aficionados out there: it’s been 20 years since Vegas-formed rockers the Killers catapulted into the culture with their ARIA number one debut album Hot Fuss . If that reality has suddenly got you thinking about ‘When You Were Young’, you’ll be stoked to learn that the band is heading Down Under to celebrate.

That’s right, the Killers are embarking on an Australian tour. Better yet, it’s all happening this summer, which means the Melbourne dates are about to go on sale. Read on for everything you need to know and you’ll be feeling like ‘The Man’ when you snatch up some tix.

When are the Killers going on their Melbourne, Australia tour 2024?

If you’re a Melburnian fan of the Killers, consider today your lucky day. The global superstars are running two different shows during their Aussie tour and Melbourne and Sydney are fortunate enough to get both.

On Thursday, December 12, the band will perform their Rebel Diamonds Concert, featuring chart-toppers from across their prolific career. The very next night on Friday, December 13, they’ll also be performing the Hot Fuss album in its entirety – what a treat! Both all-ages shows will take place at Melbourne’s massive Rod Laver Arena , which ought to work well with the Killers’ anthemic sound.

When do tickets for the Killers go on sale?

This tour has been announced a few months in advance, which means ticket sales are imminent. General sales commence this Thursday, September 12, at 4pm local time. Melbourne tickets are through Ticketek via this link . There will be a limit of eight tickets per person.

Will there be a presale?

You bet there will be, and it starts tomorrow! Frontier members presale kicks off at 3pm on Tuesday, September 10,  over here . During presale, there will be a limit of four tickets per person.

How much are tickets to the Killers’ Melbourne shows?

Prices for the Killers’ Melbourne, Australia tour are yet to be released, but we’ll update you here as soon as they are.

Everywhere else the Killers are playing in Oz

In addition to Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena, the Killers will also be rocking out at Townsville’s Queensland Country Bank Stadium, Sydney’s Qudos Bank Arena and the Brisbane Entertainment Centre.
