Alternative R&B revolutionary The Weeknd remains one of the most enigmatic artists of the 21st century. The Grammy Award-winning, multi-platinum-selling trendsetter first rose to prominence with his three independent online releases in 2011— House of Balloons, Thursday, and Echoes of Silence. Upon release, media tastemakers ranging from Complex, Pitchfork, and Rolling Stone, to MTV, BET, and XXL immediately became supporters. Under the artist’s visionary collective XO and Republic Records, 2012’s Trilogy reached platinum status in the US & Canada and debuted at #4 on the Billboard Top 200. In 2015, The Weeknd made his move from underground internet sensation to mind-blowing pop star with the release of his critically-acclaimed album “Beauty Behind The Madness”. His studio album, featuring hit singles such as “The Hills”, “Can’t Feel My Face”, and “Earned It”, has garnered numerous award nominations, chart recognition, and plenty of media support. To follow up this success, he took the new records with him to 20 arenas across North America on The Madness 2016 Fall Tour, which was sold out before the first date and featured 22 dates in 22 cities. “Beauty Behind The Madness” is now certified 2x platinum and debuted at #1 on Billboard Top 200, earning him many accolades to this date.

The Weeknd Pushes 2022 Tour, Plots Move From Arenas to Stadiums

  • By Daniel Kreps

Daniel Kreps

UPDATE (10/18) : The Weeknd is shifting around his 2022 tour plans, pushing back the start of the trek to next summer and moving his gigs from arenas to stadiums. In a statement, the Weeknd said, “Due to constraints of arenas and the demand for more shows I want to do something bigger and special for you which requires stadiums.” Ticket holders will be refunded automatically, and they’ll also get priority to buy tickets for the new shows when they’re announced. Dates will be detailed soon.

Ahead of the Weekend’s Super Bowl LV halftime show performance , the singer has announced his newly rescheduled After Hours World Tour dates — now set for 2022 — as well as a new greatest hits compilation.

After originally being set for 2020 and then postponed until 2021 due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the North American leg of the After Hours World Tour will now embark on January 14th, 2022 — almost two years after the hit album’s release — with two shows in Vancouver, British Columbia, and conclude May 1st in Tacoma, Washington.

In addition to fulfilling all the previously postponed shows, including a three-night stand at Los Angeles’ Staples Center, the Weeknd has also announced nearly a dozen new dates, including an April 7th, 2022 gig at Elmont, New York’s in-construction UBS Arena, which marks the first announced concert at the new home of the New York Islanders.

Other new dates include a stop at Seattle’s soon-to-open Climate Pledge Arena on March 4th, a Los Angeles Forum show on March 11th, and added dates in Chicago, Brooklyn, and Boston.

Previously purchased tickets for the original After Hours trek will be valid at their rescheduled show, while tickets for the new dates go on sale Monday, February 8th at 10 a.m. local time — hours after the Weeknd’s halftime performance — at the Weeknd’s site .

Additionally, the Weeknd has announced his The Highlights collection, an album of 18 tracks that the singer “curated for the Super Bowl.” That compilation, due out February 5th, is available to preorder now.

Doja Cat was scheduled to open for the singer on all of the dates, however pulled out from the tour in May to recover from tonsil surgery .

When The Weeknd first announced the postponement of his After Hours arena tour, he wrote on Instagram that he wanted “to do something bigger and special for you which requires special stadiums.” It appears he did just that as a press release teases the new show will be “creating worlds within worlds [...] bringing these first two pieces of his trilogy to life.”

So far, only the dates for the North American leg of the tour have been released. Subsequent dates in Mexico, South America, Asia, Australia, New Zealand, Europe, Africa, and the Middle East will be announced soon.

In the meantime, check out everything we know about attending the After Hours Til Dawn 2022 tour, including the announced dates so far, performance venues, and how to score tickets.

The Weeknd Announces 'Bigger & Special' Summer 2022 Stadium Tour

    By Emily Lee

    October 18, 2021

    the weeknd malaysia tour 2022

On Monday (October 18), The Weeknd surprised fans by announcing his plans to embark on a stadium tour in the summer of 2022. As fans of The Weeknd know, the 'Blinding Lights' singer planned to kick off his A fter Hours Tour in January 2022 after postponing twice due to COVID-19. Now, it seems, The Weeknd is shaking up his touring plans up once again in order to hit stadiums instead of arenas. He took to Instagram to explain his decision.

"The tour dates are moving and will commence in the summer of 2022," he wrote in his caption. "Due to constraints of arenas and the demand for more shows I want to do something bigger and special for you which requires stadiums."

"Current tickets will be refunded automatically and all ticket holders will be given priority to buy tickets for the stadium shows when they go on sale," he reassured his fans, before concluding: "New dates forthcoming."

View this post on Instagram A post shared by The Weeknd (@theweeknd)

During a recent interview, the Grammy-winning artist gave an update on his upcoming album —his follow-up to 2020’s After Hours . “The album is complete,” he revealed. “Only thing missing is a couple of characters that are key to the narrative. Some people that are near and dear to me, some people that inspired my life as a child…and some that inspire me now.”

He went on to tease "some exciting features" from the project that will debut sometime before the album drops." It's unclear whether he was referring to his highly anticipated collaboration with Swedish House Mafia, which was confirmed last month when the group previewed the track during their 2021 MTV Video Music Awards pre-show performance.

We'll just have to wait and see what The Weeknd has up his sleeve. Who knows, maybe some of these secret collaborators will make cameos on his new stadium tour next summer?

The Weeknd’s First Stadium Tour Date Postponed Due to Canada-Wide Phone Network Outage

    The Weeknd

UPDATED: Friday’s opening date of the Weeknd ’s “After Hours Til Dawn” stadium tour in his hometown of Toronto was postponed due to a nationwide outage of the Rogers Wireless company, one of Canada’s biggest phone networks, which wreaked havoc on the country for most of the day.

The announcement was made shortly after doors were scheduled to open at the Rogers Centre (formerly the Skydome) — the city’s largest venue, which, in a painfully ironic twist, is named after and sponsored by the affected wireless company. It is a cashless venue and all ticketing, food, beverage and merch sales are tied to the network; the Weeknd’s technologically complex production and venue security presumably relied heavily on it as well.

At around 11 p.m. — the time most large-venue concerts are drawing to a close — Rogers announced service was “ starting to recover. ”

In a message to fans posted on his Instagram story , the Weeknd wrote, “I’m crushed & heartbroken. Been at the venue all day but it’s out of our hands because of the Rogers outrage. Operations and safety are compromised and I tried my absolute best. This one hurts the most, and we will make thjs show happen, but unfortunately not tonight. I know how long you’ve been waiting and how hard a lot of you worked to make it to the show and experience this special moment with me. I can’t wait to see you all.”

    Popular on Variety

A statement from tour promoter Live Nation reads: “The Weeknd was onsite and ready to play but due to the nationwide Rogers network outage the show planned for this evening at Rogers Centre will be postponed as the venue’s operations & infrastructure are not possible until full service is back.

Please hold on to your ticket. Updates on a new date coming soon.”

We regret to announce that The Weeknd tour stop at Rogers Centre has been postponed due to service outages impacting venue operations. A new show date will be shared ASAP and tickets will be honoured. We understand how disappointing this is and apologize for the inconvenience. pic.twitter.com/Et073wz0WZ — Toronto Blue Jays (@BlueJays) July 8, 2022

The outage, which began at around 4:30 a.m. ET, illuminated just how much modern society has come to rely on cellular coverage: Throughout the country, government and banking systems, parking and countless other businesses were incapable of processing transactions. Restaurants were forced to serve on a cash-only basis; some of the longest lines in downtown Toronto on Friday were for ATM machines. Cafes and any business offering free wifi were packed.

Sources tell Variety that the lateness of the announcement, which came at the time doors were scheduled to open and fans had been waiting outside for hours, was due to the Weeknd’s team trying to find a way to perform the show up until the last possible minute.

Surprisingly, a couple of blocks away from the Rogers Centre, Roger Waters’ concert at the ScotiaBank Arena went ahead as scheduled on Friday night. A large sign outside the venue offered free wi-fi inside the arena, listed a website for assistance with mobile tickets and noted that credit card payments were accepted inside although debit card transactions were not able to be processed; a common situation due to the outage. It seems possible that the reason the concert was able to proceed is that ScotiaBank Arena may not be a Rogers-only venue.

Amid the outage on Friday afternoon, Kye Prigg, Rogers’ senior vice-president of access networks and operations, told CBC’s “ Power & Politics, “We don’t understand how the different levels of redundancy that we build across the network coast to coast have not have not worked.”

While anyone not in Canada might think the postponement was an overreaction, an American equivalent would be a nationwide shutdown of Verizon or T-Mobile service. The level of disruption was a sobering reminder of what would take place in the event of a cyberattack.

In fact, just a month before the outage, Canadian Public Safety Minister Marco Mendicino said the country’s government was on “ high alert” for cyberattacks by Russia and other s in the wake of the increasingly hostile international relations caused by the war in Ukraine.

“I cannot emphasize enough how important it is that, in the current geopolitical environment in which we find ourselves, that we are very much on high alert for potential attacks from hostile state actors like Russia,” he said during an appearance at the country’s House of Commons public safety committee. He described those attacks as possibly coming in the form of cyberattacks and ransomware “which look to identify potentially valuable targets to Canadian interests like critical infrastructure but equally, to sub-national targets, different orders of government, different sectors to the economy.”

The Weeknd Finally Has New Plans To Tour Behind ‘After Hours’ As He Announces 2022 Tour Dates

    Derrick Rossignol

The future of live music remains uncertain, but The Weeknd seems to think that things will be better in 2022: He has announced new tour dates in support of After Hours , which are set for next year.

The Weeknd is the stage name of Abel Tesfaye (born February 16th 1990), a Canadian alternative R&B singer of considerable critical acclaim and commercial success. He has released one studio album, a compilation album and three mixtapes since his debut in 2011.

Tesfaye dropped out of high school at age 17 and left his native Scarborough, Ontario for Toronto. He began his music career in 2009 by dropping tracks anonymously on YouTube. The Weeknd co-founded the record label XO in 2011 and released three mixtapes in the same year: House of Balloons, Thursday, and Echoes of Silence.

The Weeknd’s mixtapes began to make noise as people responded to his unique R&B style and mysterious identity. His three mixtapes were downloaded eight million times, an astonishing audience for an artist without even a debut album to their name.

In 2012, The Weeknd signed with Republic Records and re-released his mixtapes as a compilation album, Trilogy. The album was met with positive reviews from critics, and it reached number four on the charts in the US and number five in Canada. At the end of 2012, The Weeknd embarked on a concert tour to promote Trilogy.

He dropped his debut studio album, Kiss Land, in 2013. It debuted at number two on the US Billboard 200 chart and sold 95,000 copies in its first week.

After the release of Kiss Land, The Weeknd wrote a song for the film Fifty Shades of Grey. “Earned It” went on to win a Grammy Award for Best R&B Performance. The song was also nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Song.

In 2014, The Weeknd collaborated with Ariana Grande on her song, “Love Me Harder.” It climbed to number seven on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. In September of that year, The Weeknd kicked off his first headlining tour at Barclays Center in New York.

In May 2015, The Weeknd released the second single from his upcoming album. “The Hills” entered the Billboard Hot 100 at number twenty and climbed all the way to the top, making it his first number-one single. The full album, Beauty Behind the Madness, dropped that August and reached number one in Canada, Australia, the UK, and Norway. The Weekend promoted the album by headlining several summer music festivals, including Lollapalooza.

Beauty Behind the Madness was certified double platinum in the US, selling 1.5 million copies worldwide. It was the most-streamed album of the year and produced three platinum singles. It also won a Grammy Award for Best Urban Contemporary Album.

Following this major success, The Weeknd embarked on his first arena tour. The Madness Fall Tour kicked off in his home country at Toronto’s Air Canada Centre.

At the end of 2016, The Weeknd released his third studio album, Starboy with an eponymous lead single featuring legendary French electronic duo, Daft Punk. After reaching number one in several countries, the song became the duo’s first chart-topping hit and The Weeknd’s third.

Debuting at number one on the US Billboard 200 chart, Starboy became The Weeknd’s second consecutive number-one record. It also took home a Grammy Award for Best Urban Contemporary Album, making it The Weeknd’s second win in that category. The album was certified four-times platinum by the RIAA.

In support of the album, The Weeknd embarked on the Starboy: Legend of the Fall Tour in early 2017. It kicked off at the Ericsson Globe in Sweden.

2018 was another big year for The Weeknd. In February, he collaborated with Kendrick Lamar on “Pray for Me”, a song from the Black Panther film soundtrack which peaked at number seven on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The next month, Tesfaye released his first EP, My Dear Melancholy. Debuting at number one on the Billboard 200 chart, it became The Weeknd’s third number-one album.

In November, The Weeknd released his first greatest hits album, The Weeknd in Japan, with songs from the setlists of his 2018 The Weeknd Asia Tour.

In 2020, The Weeknd released his fourth studio album, After Hours. The first two singles, “Heartless” and “Blinding Lights,” both peaked at number one on the Billboard 100 chart. “Blinding Lights” also went on to become the first song in history to hold a top-ten spot for an entire year.

To date, The Weeknd has sold over 75 million records and remains one of the top-selling artists of all time. In 2020, Time magazine named him one of the most influential people in the world. His work toward racial equality and food security has also earned him the title of Goodwill Ambassador for the Global Food Programme.

In January 2022, The Weeknd released his fifth studio album, Dawn FM. He is currently promoting it on his After Hours til Dawn Tour. Catch him live through November 27.

    Live reviews

The quintessential emotional artist, The Weeknd brings to stage an performance packed with passion and a desire to please the audience.

The first time I heard his mix tape "House Of Balloons" I instantly thought "damn this music sounds sexy." The production behind each track is practically flawless. What straps your ear to the speaker is the remnants of Michael Jackson mixed with a sound of James Blake streamlined into one perfect-pitch voice. The acoustics of Radio City (NYC) amplified his voice so well it felt like an invisible blanket wrapping you up in soft and warm harmonies. His stage energy is off the chart and he interacts with the crowd throughout his entire performance. I also found the concert production to be stellar, there were LED lighting panels that covered the entire stage re-creating the streets of Tokyo, Japan. The usage of cameras in the stage to project the image of the crowd and The Weeknd on the LED panels is another way in which he kept the audience sucked into his performance. If I didn't know better I would say his dance moves come straight out of a Michael Jackson video from the 90s. Soulful, lively, passionate, and a sexy sound is how I would have to sum him up. The Weeknd is a must see!

Abel Tesfaye known as "The Weeknd" is a Canadian R&B artist from Scarborough, Ontario. A district of the city Toronto. He left home one weekend and never came back. Hence the name The Weeknd. The Weeknd's music is very sexy and most likely aimed to women. His lyrics contain sexual content and his desires of what he would like to do to them. When you are there. Live. In front of him. It really does feel like he is singing to you! His band knows what he wants and knows how to please an audience. There's Japanese writings and visuals that were incorporated since it was the theme of his recent album "Kissland" The fans go wild and you can't help but go wild too!

The feeling of being there is intense! You even got to have a chance to meet him so he could sign your CD! This gives you ladies a chance to see him one on one! Of course the line will seem like its forever but it is definitely worth it. He inspires so many aspiring singers to go after their dreams.

His vocals were claimed to be "the next Michael Jackson" and I sure do agree! A very sexy and soothing voice and I really do think everyone is with me on this one! The vibe of being there is amazing and it is a privilege for anyone to go there!

This review might not be completely objective as Abel has been my favourite singer for a few years now. However, I can definitely admit the Starboy tour date in Paris was the best pop concert I've been to this year. Even though some songs could have been put out of the tracklist, he mostly sang his catchiest songs of his career, no matter the era. He has great, or should I say, tremendous energy as he continuously sang twenty-something songs with no pause in between. He has no trouble reaching high notes live, his voice sounding even more heavenly in real life. That night, he invited Travis Scott on stage who pumped up the crowd more than him, which is a shame and showcases very well his lack of success and recognition in France, yet, in a sold out stadium. Most people actually didn't even know his real name or the lyrics of his songs ! I would recommend any "real fan" who has known him for a while or who likes his last album a lot to go to a Starboy tour date. I promise you, you won't regret it.

I loved it! There were 3 openingsacts, which I thought were a lot but they were all really good! I really enjoyed Bryson Tiller, I really think he has great potential. But The Weeknd was everything. It was even better than I could imagine and I was thinking big. He did a lot of songs and everybody was singing along and everything just was so perfect. He sounded amazing and with one song he let us all sing and nobody could hit the high notes and he smiled so freaking cute. It went by so fast. Also it was quite funny how big of an age difference there was between the fans. There were elderly people, like a grandmother and her granddaughter together and this elderly couple,... Of course there were a lot of young people. And there also were young teenagers with their friends. Everything was organized very well. And I would definitely go again.

The concert was absolutely stunning. A starship was used and the lights were coordinated very well. Abel sang amazingly in person and I loved jumping up and down screaming with other members of the audience while he sang. The concert was truly magical and I enjoyed every second Abel stood on stage.

As for the other singers who appeared on stage, I was very satisfied with their singing as well. They did an amazing job and captured the entire audience. In between Abel's music, the other singers such as Lil Uzi and 6lack played their hits on stage and the whole crowd became even more alive. If I the concert played out any other way, I'm sure I wouldn't have enjoyed it as much as this concert.

This concert was awesome. The lines were a block away and round a corner it was crazy. We waited bout 2 hours but some waited even more. The weekend had a great live band with solos. I had made it to the near front on the floor.next time I will just be on the balcony because there was a lot of pushing going on throught the night. Not only that but it was like being in a sweat box. A lot of people were allowed to smoke ganja and there were drinks to be served of course. About two people passed on near me which is scary but predictable at a concert extreme as this one. Over all a memorable experience for me and my friends.

The Weeknd was my first official concert and will be my most memorable. The emotion of the songs live is so fulfilling just knowing he's right there in front of me, it's like some weird connection that I can't explain. He felt the song when he sang it and I think that is so unique, most artists sing it so much it's just putting on a performance for them but this was deeper than that. I wish I could relive that feeling again, where I get chills when he can hit that notes so well. I don't care if this review gets published, I just wanted to state how this concert felt.

This was such a great show!! I would definitely see him live again.

    -great light display/props/theatrics

-he sang music from all his albums which was well appreciated!

    -he interacted with the crowd

    -he sings AMAZING live

    -chill atmosphere

-performers/musicians were smoking weed on stage

-Abel took a longgg time to get on stage, we were there for almost two hours before he did

-crowd was very drunk & rude (not his fault)

-merchandise was very expensive (I payed $40 for a t-shirt)

The show was awesome!!! No surprise, The Weeknd is even better live than he is on record! Nonetheless, his beautiful voice blows me away every time I hear him. Such a true, talented artist; one of the few left in our generation. Again the show was great, the only thing I wish was different was that I wish the show was longer than an hour & a half-2 hours and I would have loved to have heard some of his older songs!

The Weeknd is amazing live. His voice is incredible and he is beyond talented. Also, the stage production for the Legend of the Fall tour was unlike anything I've ever seen before. The Star Destroyer-esque prop moving above the stage was so cool. Loved every minute of it. Well worth the outrageous cost of the ticket for an obstructed view by the stage.

The Weeknd reschedules cancelled Australian tour dates

The Weeknd has surprised his Australian fans by announcing new tour dates after initially cancelling them last year.

The Starboy hitmaker was originally supposed to conclude his After Hours Til Dawn world tour in Australia and New Zealand in November and December 2023 but they were postponed before being cancelled altogether due to "schedule and logistical constraints".

On Monday, The Weeknd surprised fans by announcing he would be bringing his tour Down Under after all.

"I feel a strong pull to perform in Australia before moving on to the next chapter and want to make sure you all know I hadn't forgotten about you," he said in a statement, reports Billboard. "When I return now, it will be the right time, and I promise it will be such a special experience. I can't wait to see you all!"

However, fans were quick to notice the tour dates didn't match the original 2023 schedule.

The Canadian star, real name Abel Tesfaye, was initially supposed to perform for two nights in Brisbane, three nights in Sydney, four nights in Melbourne and two in Auckland, New Zealand. But the new tour will compromise of only four shows; two in Sydney and two in Melbourne.

The Blinding Lights singer will take to the stage at the Marvel Stadium in Melbourne on 5 and 6 October before returning to Australia on 22 and 23 October for shows at the Accor Stadium in Sydney.

The concerts will be his first stadium performances in Australia since 2017.

The Weeknd began his After Hours Til Dawn world tour in July 2022 and wrapped it up in October 2023.

Hints and tips for improving your chances of getting The Weeknd tickets

Make sure you have a my ticketmaster account.

Get the basics covered before tickets go on sale by logging in and checking your Ticketmaster account ahead of time. If you don’t have a Ticketmaster Account then make sure you sign up in advance –  Ticketmaster.com.au .

Sign into your My Ticketmaster account ahead of time

Remember to triple check your passwords, account information, and billing information are all filled in correctly in advance, that way you’re not facing any last-minute account updates when trying to process your order.

Keep your options open with ‘Best Available’

Save time by searching “Best Available,” which scans all sections fast – it’s quicker than searching sections one at a time.

Keep an eye on the clock

There will be a time limit applied to all transactions as you are progressed through the ticket purchasing stages. Remember to keep an eye on the timer on your screen and move through the processing pages as quickly as possible (this is even easier when you’ve completed the account set-up stage we mentioned above).

    Don’t refresh your screen

Stick to one window while you’re in the  Waiting Room  and when you’re being pushed through  the Smart Queue  and always resist the urge to refresh.

Hitting the refresh button means you’ll lose your place in the queue and, as frustrating as it can get, patience is the only way to win this game. Ticketmaster is equipped with sophisticated systems that are designed to manage and process ticket purchases as quickly as possible. The queuing system that appears on your screen will place you at the front of the line as soon as possible.

Remember: there are a lot of fans

We’re expecting this to be a very popular event. When a popular event goes on sale there are hundreds, and sometimes thousands, of customers all attempting to purchase tickets at the same time. Tickets are sold as long as seats are available, and when an act is this popular, sometimes they go very quickly.

Be sure to follow the above tips to ensure you have the best chance of snapping up some tickets.

The Weeknd will bring his After Hours til Dawn tour to Australia in October 2024. Tickets are on sale via Ticketmaster.com.au.

The Weeknd announced his return to Australia with new tour dates Monday, revisiting plans abruptly canceled last year.

Originally, the Grammy-winning artist was set to close his “After Hours Til Dawn” world tour in Australia and New Zealand in November and December 2023. These concerts were postponed and eventually scrapped due to “schedule and logistical constraints.”

“I feel a strong pull to perform in Australia before moving on to the next chapter,” The Weeknd said in a statement, Billboard reports. “I want to make sure you all know I hadn’t forgotten about you. When I return now, it will be the right time, and I promise it will be such a special experience. I can’t wait to see you all!”

Fans noticed a significant alteration in the new schedule. The Canadian artist, born Abel Tesfaye, was originally due for multiple performances: two nights in Brisbane, three in Sydney, four in Melbourne, and two in Auckland, New Zealand.

This revised tour, however, comprises only four shows: two in Sydney and two in Melbourne.

View this post on Instagram A post shared by Abel (@theweeknd)

The “Blinding Lights” artist will perform at Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium on October 5 and 6.

Additional shows in Sydney are slated for October 22 and 23 at Accor Stadium. These will mark The Weeknd’s first stadium appearances in Australia since 2017.

The Weeknd’s “After Hours Til Dawn” tour began in July 2022 and concluded in October 2023. This tour extension provides Australian fans a highly anticipated, albeit truncated, opportunity to catch the pop sensation live.

In a poignant moment of serendipity, despite initial setbacks, the announcement reaffirms The Weeknd’s commitment to his global audience, ensuring that his artistic journey is shared with fans Down Under.

These will be The Weeknd ’s first stadium shows in Australia and his first visit since 2017. Special guests Mike Dean and Chxrry22, along with Australian DJ and vocalist, Anna Lunoe, will join him on all 2024 Australian dates.

However, fans in Brisbane and New Zealand, who were included in the cancelled 2023 tour, will be disappointed to learn that these locations are not part of the 2024 itinerary.

According to a statement from the tour’s press release: “Due to schedule and logistical constraints, the ‘After Hours ‘Til Dawn’ tour will not be making its way to New Zealand or Brisbane in 2024 and there will be no further cities added.”

This decision has sparked backlash on social media, with fans expressing frustration over their shows being dropped from the 2024 run.

One commenter noted on Reddit , “Not sure what logistical circumstances they’re trying to blame for not coming to Brisbane or even NZ. Suncorp Stadium literally has no event booked in October other than the Travis Scott show at the end of the month.” Another added, “Apparently it’s more logical to fly to Australia, fly back to the USA, fly back to Australia and then fly back again.”

Before announcing the 2024 Australian dates, The Weeknd performed numerous sold-out shows across the United States as part of the After Hours Til Dawn tour.

The U.S. leg included notable performances at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles and MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, where he fans with a setlist featuring hits from After Hours and Dawn FM .

For 2023 ticket holders, a special ‘ Past Purchaser Presale ‘ will be available, offering the first opportunity to secure tickets for the upcoming Australian tour dates.

The Weeknd’s After Hours Til Dawn tour has been a global success, with over 60 sold-out stadium dates and more than 3 million attendees across North America, Europe, the U.K., and Latin America. The tour has also broken attendance records, including a two-night run at London Stadium that drew 160,000 fans.

In other recent news, earlier this month it was revealed The Weeknd will return to Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Hollywood on Sept. 5 with The Weeknd: Nightmare Trilogy , an immersive haunted house experience featuring music by The Weeknd and Mike Dean.

It follows the success of his 2022 After Hours Nightmare attraction, inspired by his Billboard 200-topping album After Hours .

You can save your tears, because The Weeknd has finally rescheduled his cancelled Aussie tour dates

    picture portrait of the weeknd

Did you happen to see photos of that ominous projection proclaiming "The End is Near"  on the Nylex Tower in Melbourne last night ? Thankfully, we don't need to worry about the world ending just yet – phew! – it was all a silly little stunt to announce that  The Weeknd  is finally returning Down Under.

View this post on Instagram A post shared by JACQUELINE FELGATE (@jacquifelgate)

Yep, after a rollercoaster journey that saw his original After Hours Til Dawn tour dates in Australia indefinitely postponed and then officially   cancelled , it's now confirmed that the global superstar will officially return. And it's actually way sooner than you'd expect, with Sydney scoring back-to-back shows in October – yep, just two months from now.

So whether you were lucky enough to score tickets the first time, or you missed out and you're determined to snag them now, here's everything you need to know about The Weeknd's rescheduled Aussie tour.

Has The Weekend rescheduled his Australian tour in 2024?

Yes, after first postponing and then officially cancelling his tour back in April, The Weeknd has now confirmed he will finally bring his After Hours Til Dawn tour to Australia in 2024.

When is the Weeknd coming to Sydney?

The Weeknd will head to Sydney for back-to-back shows at the Accor Stadium on October 22 and 23.

How much are the Weeknd tickets for Sydney?

Based on the last time tickets went on sale, we believe prices will range from  $102.87–$306.75. But these may be subject to change, so stay tuned for more info as it comes to light.

What stadium will the Weeknd play at in Sydney?

Our guy will play  at the   Accor Stadium . This 80,000 seater biggie is located  in Sydney Olympic Park.

Where else is the Weeknd playing in Australia as part of the 2024 After Hours til Dawn tour?

Before The Weeknd rolls into Sydney, he will  open the Australian tour in Melbourne, with two shows on October 5 and 6 at   Marvel Stadium . Unfortunately, due to schedule and logistical constraints, the tour will not travel to Brisbane and New Zealand as originally planned. No other cities will be added to schedule.

When do The Weeknd Sydney tickets go on sale in Australia?

Tickets for the general public go on sale Monday, August 26 via this official   website .

The Weeknd is set to make his long-awaited return to Australia with his ‘After Hours Til Dawn’ global stadium tour, scheduled for this October.

These shows will be his first stadium performances on Australian soil, marking a significant milestone in his career and his first visit to the region since 2017.

“I feel a strong pull to perform in Australia before moving on to the next chapter and want to make sure you all know I hadn’t forgotten about you. When I return now, it will be the right time, and I promise it will be such a special experience. I can’t wait to see you all!” says The Weeknd – aka Abel Tesfaye.

The tour kicks off with back-to-back shows in Melbourne at Marvel Stadium on October 5th and 6th, before heading to Sydney’s Accor Stadium on October 22nd and 23rd. These performances are part of The Weeknd’s record-breaking tour, which has already seen massive success across North America, Europe, the UK, and Latin America.

The Weeknd’s shows in Australia will feature special guests Anna Lunoe, Mike Dean, and Chxrry22. Due to scheduling and logistical constraints, the tour will not include stops in New Zealand or Brisbane, and no further Australian cities will be added.

This announcement comes after The Weeknd’s previous Australia and New Zealand tour, scheduled for late 2023, was unexpectedly postponed due to unforeseen circumstances. Fans who were eagerly awaiting his return last year can now look forward to an even bigger experience as The Weeknd takes on his first-ever stadium shows in Australia.

All 2023 ticket holders will still have the chance to purchase tickets for the Melbourne and Sydney shows during the Past Purchaser Pre-sale starting Wednesday, August 21st, at 12 p.m. in Sydney and 1 p.m. in Melbourne.

To gain access to the pre-sale, previous ticket holders are required to register via a form provided by Live Nation . Those who previously signed up for the waitlist do not need to re-register. The registration window closes Tuesday, August 20th, at 1 p.m. Previous ticket holders will then receive an email from Live Nation with access ahead of the pre-sale. However, pre-sale access does not guarantee tickets.

Tickets will be available starting Wednesday, August 21st, with a Past Purchaser Pre-sale, followed by a general on-sale beginning Monday, August 26th, at TheWeeknd.com/Tour . Various pre-sale options are available, including exclusive access for Vodafone customers, CommBank Yello Mastercard holders, and Westfield members.

As part of his ongoing humanitarian efforts, The Weeknd, a United Nations World Food Programme Goodwill Ambassador, will contribute funds from the Australian shows to the XO Humanitarian Fund, supporting the organization’s response to the global hunger crisis. A $1 local equivalent from each ticket sold will go towards this cause.
