Medium gold. Butterscotch nose. Rich texture. Medium sweet. Adequate acidity for its modest finish. Butterscotch flavor. Delicious now.

Le Château La Tour Blanche est situé au cour de l'appellation Sauternes. A une quarantaine de kilomètres au sud de Bordeaux, celle-ci s'étend sur près de 2100 hectares et concerne cinq villages : Barsac, Bommes, Fargues, Preignac et Sauternes.

Tasting Notes

Ex-chateau bottle tasted blind in Sauternes. The La Tour Blanche '03 offers yellow flowers, melted candle wax and honey on the nose with Muscat-like aromas developing in the glass. The palate is well-balanced on the entry with lemon curd and honey notes, though it needs just a little more acidity to give it tension and freshness. The finish is quite linear, springs no surprises, and just drifts a little when you seek more tautness and race. Still, this is a pleasurable, if not profound La Tour Blanche. Drink now-2020+

Dark gold in color already, with intense aromas of dried apricots, citrus, honey and maple syrup with lots of spice. Fullbodied, with lovely sweetness and a long, creamy peach tart, tobacco, honey aftertaste. This is pure botrytis. Best ever from here. Has an incredible finish. Best after 2010. -J.S. Mar 31, 2006

Very deep-flavoured. Thick and syrupy with density, brule and botrytis character. Lots of interest. Long. Chewy. .

Fresh, subtle, complex nose; full-bodied, ample, concentrated Sauternes with good balancing acidity; rich, powerful, generous, intensely sweet wine with both the complexity and definition to prevent it being excessive; an impressive heavyweight.

Loads of botrytis and honey character and hints of lemon rind and citrus fruits. Full-bodied, very sweet, with loads of peach tart, spice and a long, honeyed finish. This has all on the back palate. Fantastic. Best La Tour Blanche I have tasted in many, many years.
